"Columbia students rejoice—there’s a new pho shop in Morningside Heights. With a cozy stone wall, lots of plants, and fried catfish on the menu, Pho Amsterdam looks like a solid spot to grab a steaming bowl of comfort food when you need to ward off finals season woes. " - Will Hartman, Willa Moore

Large portions and pretty delicious. The pho came in a large bowl. The vegetable spring roll was also good but had only one shrimp per cut roll. The bahn mi was probably my favorite. It was flavorful and filling. For the price, I'd definitely come back. The service and atmosphere is good too. We went during lunch time and there were only a few other customers there, so it was very nice and quiet.

I came across this place all of sudden but really like it! The ice tea is unique and delicious! There is their own way to make the tea, and it is amazing! You have to try it!

Google
It’s a nice little spot! The service could be a little more energized I got the pho and the duck rolls. The pho comes in a large bowl 🥣, but unfortunately, it lacked flavor. 🤷‍♂️

Google
It’s a cute aesthetic photo restaurant. We ordered fried spring rolls, duck rolls, summer rolls for appetizers and later we got flank and brisket with beef balls. The fried spring rolls were amazing, the meat tastes very fresh and flavorful. The summer roll with peanut sauce was very refreshing and duck rolls were just SO AMAZING, you must try it!! Each rolls come with a different type of sauces that make them a good combination. The pho was very huge portion and I got super super full after eating it. Definitely recommend!!

Google
i got it for takeout it was pretty okay pretty eatable not the best pho in the world the meat was a bit dry but it’s nothing some extra broth won’t fix the summer rolls were pretty okay too not much complaints there just some solid food i would go again

Google
I’ve been ordering from this pho spot online for a while now, and they have never disappointed. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and consistent—exactly what you hope for when you find a favorite place. My order is always correct, which is rare these days, and today they went above and beyond with their customer service. The delivery driver was running late, but they stayed open after hours just to make sure my order could still be picked up. That level of care is hard to come by. I’ve never dined in, but their online service alone has made me a loyal customer. Highly recommend!

The pho and banh mi are both great options, and the dry rice noodle is also very good.

Google
Great pho, my roommate and I went and we were very satisfied. Until, my roommate had said he had found a piece of plastic in his bowl. I think had he not found that this would’ve been a 5 star meal. I had been there once before with my girlfriend and had no problems. They give a good amount for the price. I was feeling under the weather this day, so the day called for a good hot bowl of pho on a cold day! Hopefully next time there’s no plastic or any other floating objects in the pho

Yelp
Vegetable dumplings were great. Tofu & mushroom Banh Mi was delicious-- bread was perfect and the filling was flavored well. Beef Banh Mi was super tasty as well. Great food for the price! Waitress was very friendly too

Yelp
It was a chilly rainy day and I contemplated getting the Pho but I knew I wouldn't be able to finish it all so I went for a bahn mi. Toasty Bread and flavorful fillings and pickles I can't complain. Service was very quick and attentive . I do wish they had more drink options and teas. I'll be back for the pho!

Yelp
Had the Grill pork Vermicelli Noodle Salad and Brisket Pho. Both were good except the brisket was a bit small and a bit harder to chew. Service was quick and attentive. Shop was modern with traditional Asian vibe theme.

Yelp
Food 5/10 The duck spring rolls were fun to try. The beef flank and brisket pho was quite mid. The broth was solid, but the noodle texture was quite subpar. It did satisfy my desire for soup though. Atmosphere 5/10 Felt a little drafty. Service 5/10 Didn't feel the most welcoming. Also took a while to come circle back for our order when we weren't ready the first time around.

Yelp
Saw this place recently opened up near my work area. Was hesitant to try as I know a lot of places do pho and what not but it is not authentic. Decided to try the banh mi as a starter and as expected, nothing compared to the places in Chinatown or flushing. Came back to try the pho a month later and it was alright at best. While the pho broth is not super flavorful, the portion size is decent which I liked. They gave me a lot of broth in my take out container. The noodles and meat were repeated from the broth which I appreciate.

Yelp
Solid Vietnamese spot on north side of Columbia's campus! My favorite was the vermicelli - I'd order this again. The bahn mi and pho were fine. We also had the catfish rice dish. You don't often see catfish on the menu. I wish the spring rolls had the rice paper wrappers - these were skippable. Service was friendly and attentive. The restaurant is clean but the tables still smelled like veneer - maybe this will wear off. Overall solid spot for a warm bowl of pho and a Vietnamese food craving!

Yelp
Omg I am so elated by this addition to the neighborhood. I am from California and have been searching for good pho in the city and I can't believe I've finally found it AND it's literally next door to me!! When I initially arrived, I was greeted by a sweet woman and a beautiful, clean restaurant. I quickly placed my order and was shocked (and skeptical) with how quick it came but that was immediately replaced with happiness when I realized how good it was. The broth was sooo flavorful and every bite was so delicious. It's served in a large bowl, which is nice so that it doesn't overflow when adding things in and it's also such a good amount- I couldn't even finish the entire thing. Thai tea was also delicious and the service was great-- I cannot wait to come back and try their other menu items!!

Yelp
PLEASANTLY SURPRISED i think the pho is better than that of banh nearby the servers aren't the most attentive (they kind of leave you alone) but it's nice if that's what you're looking for, peace to eat!! the wooden chairs and plants are very earthy and i liked the space which was open and large and not very crowded

Yelp
It's a lovely new place that has delicious pho. I even saw options I didn't at other places for catfish pho. There is an option for vegans that's the tofu, mushroom, and baby corn pho. There are also rice dishes and banh mi.

Yelp
Except for the duck spring rolls every thing else ended up in the garbage (grilled shrimp rice, grits pork vermicelli and chicken bonh mi).

Yelp
I live in the block, so for a local spot it's a 5 star. I wouldn't say it's the absolutely best pho ever, but I would give it a solid 4.5. Someone mentioned Flushing or Chinatown as a comparison in their review, which is irrelevant. I'm not going to compare this pho to the one I've tried in Hanoi. Service - great. Ambiance - great. If you are in the area and are craving pho or need a hangover cure, I highly recommend this spot.

Yelp
Prices are good , service is GARBAGE . If you're gonna eat here just order it out . Unless you're white .

Yelp
Everything felt thin, cooked for economy of the restaurant and not the taste of the people who visit. If looking for good pho, look elsewhere. If in the neighborhood and looking for a meal you could do worse. Service to table was perfect, no notes. Service to meal was noticeably cheap, everything felt cut, stepped on, not light tasting like a style, but as if they'd watered everything down to save on overhead costs. Ambiance was new modern, the wood furnishing varnished just a little too recently to feel sticky. Maybe that patina will wear off.

Yelp
favorite chicken pho i've ever had. the broth is beef btw, but literally sooooo flavorful. i usually find that chicken in pho is dry and bland, but that's the opposite here - incredibly flavorful and not dry. i ordered online for delivery and it was so quick! will absolutely order again
google avatar

Kenneth T.

Yelp
I have to say, I'm very disappointed with how bland their pho is and how overcooked the meats are.

Nashia K.

Yelp
It's great if you're a college student craving Pho in the area. I do think the meat felt a little cheap/ rubbery but I might give it a second chance. Good Flavor, Ambiance is chill. Appetizers were good

Yelp
Such a cozy place to have a comforting meal. Whether you are hungover or just want Vietnamese food I'd recommend coming to Pho Amsterdam. The pho broth was so rich and clear!

Yelp
I liked this new restaurant. The dishes are a really good size for the price, and the pho and banh mi were delicious. Definitely will come back soon.

Yelp
Great pricing, absolutely delicious food! Also a really chill spot to eat a quick solo lunch

Yelp
Wonderful service...plenty of seating available although the food is pricey. Great flank pho...I'm glad that I have a local spot to enjoy delicious pho!

Nguyen C.

Yelp
The phở is not good as I expected. The ambiance is good. I don't think this is Vietnamese restaurant.
