LA’s New Restaurant Openings - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Pho Gyu is a modern Vietnamese restaurant in Ventura that recently opened a second location in Koreatown. Their big selling point is that they use wagyu to make their pho’s 12-hour-simmered broth, but chicken and veggie-based broths are also on the menu. And if you’re not feeling hot soup, bánh mìs and bún thịt nướng are available, too." - Sylvio Martins

Pho Gyu, well pho gyu-me too cause I’m happy that I have a pho spot located in Ktown that continues to deliver 🙏 If you wanna change it up from the Korean comfort food and have a wholesome bowl of pho that’s the warm hug for your hungover/sick/craving/ whatever vibe your on - this will do it for ya. Self serve garnishes located at the front of the restaurant, is a major + so you can get the exact amounts of what you need. Interior is modern, space is decent, and parking lot is hit or miss. But they have a parking lot that’s free so additional points there.

I feel like having a pho soup earlier. I checked out this place and parking area was so packed and cannot find a spot. But luckily someone left and I got to park my car. Went inside and it’s not that busy which I’m glad. I ordered to go and waited a bit. While I was waiting I decided to start taking some lime, mint leaves, beans sprouts for my soup and the server came up to me asking what did I order. I told him wagyu pho and chicken wings. In other words he doesn’t want to me take some of those limes 🍋‍🟩 etc because they have it included in my to go order. I told him it’s okay I just needed a little more. Not a friendly place and food was okay not as great as I was expecting. I still gave them 4 stars ⭐️ for consideration.

Google
Checked it out while in Koreatown for lunch the other day. It’s a newer pho spot and honestly, pretty solid overall. The broth’s made from Wagyu bones that they simmer for hours, and you can actually taste the difference. We got the Wagyu Beef Pho, Shrimp Spring Rolls, Chicken Banh Mi, Crispy Wings. Faves were the pho obviously, also the Banh Mi. The Thai Iced Tea was nice too. Portion size was bigger than expected, and for the price it’s a good deal. They also have a toppings bar, which is nice if you like to load up on herbs and sauces. Definitely a solid K-town pho spot I’d come back to when I’m in the area. Good value, good broth, no complaints.

Google
Honestly, the best Pho I’ve ever had in LA or in my life. This place is slept on frfr. The wagyu broth is so rich and flavorful. This is my second time coming to this establishment since it was super chilly out and it hit the spot.

James H.

Google
One of the best Pho I've had in a while, with a neat, self-service condiments bar, and unlimited noodles if you dine-in. Be careful because Western location in KTown is the only place with a condiments bar. Wagyu Pho was great, clean and premium beefy flavor that doesn't thin out as you eat. My sister had Wagyu vermicelli which was also refreshing, but the wagyu bulgogi that it came with was very sinewy and mostly unchewable tendons. I think she should've got the pork.

Esther K.

Google
Best pho in ktown. The pho broth is deep and flavorful unlike the usual ktown phos. Meat is tender and exceptional quality. My new go-to spot now. :)

Google
FOOD: I got the pho tai (they call it Pho Gyu a play on Wagyu). The broth was excellent, all the flavors were present. At no point did the broth leave any unpleasurable after taste caused from poor ingredients, all high quality ingredients. The self service bean sprouts, mint leaves, etc. was refreshing. Now I could get all the additional bean sprouts I want without having to ask or receiving too much and wasting. The thinly sliced meat was delicious though I couldn't really notice a difference in texture to see if it was wagyu. Service: Great Atmosphere: I would describe it as a well invested and good looking private business. The environment was comfortable. Overall, If you are nearby eating here is a good choice.

Google
Cannot recommend this place more than enough! The wagyu bone summed broth is delicious with the pho and the unlimited noodle refills makes up is an amazing deal with any of the pho options. Solid deal for what you can get in LA, and especially for the price point. The wagyu beef banh mi and rice plate is very rich in flavor, I loved it! However, the rice in the rice plate did come out slightly cold so it might not exactly be the freshest rice. But nonetheless, it tasted great paired with the salad and meat. The banh mi was possibly one of the best banh mi that I have ever tried. They use the most perfect bun, had a soft but crispy texture to it, which I haven’t had before locally. The flavor from the meat and sauce they used also enriched the flavor. It was so filling that I even took the second half home for leftovers! If you also like strong vietnamese coffee, this place is the best. Went here originally just for the vietnamese coffee, and it did not disappoint at all. If you prefer more condensed milk or sweetness to your vietnamese coffee, this might not be for you. But if you’re a coffee person, definitely check it out. They also have other sweet fruity drinks here for those non coffee drinkers. Highly recommend this place. Parking may be slightly difficult, but that’s anywhere in Ktown LA.

Yelp
walked in and was instantly greeted and seated amazing staff full of smiles. It's all amazing. The food was plenty full. Got it really fast. The aesthetics here are amazing. They got the logo down... everything! The garnish bar is spectacular! Recommend the Thai tea too!

Yelp
I really like this Vietnamese Pho place. It's located in a small plaza near the heart of Korea Town. The parking lot is tiny as it houses this restaurant, along with a liquor store, and a boba place. I would advise parking on the street of you can. I had their Rib Pho, and it was delicious! Lots of meat on the bone, with the bone. Their soybeans are cooked with raw onions and mint leaves on the side. The broth was on the spot as it's steaming hot when served. I liked the fact that the meat came off the bone quite easily. I had a knife to cut the meat off bone, and I also knawed the bone. It was that good. I must've been caveman hungry to eat the way did. LoL. The proportions of my pho was a good size. We also had an order of the Taro Egg Rolls. It was only two egg rolls cut into four pieces. It's served with lettuce and fish sauce on the side. The Taro tasted better than I expected, surprisingly. It was delicious. You should wrap it with the lettuce and dip it into the fish sauce. We had a good experience eating there, and I think we'll be back soon. The only problem is the parking situation. Basically there's limited parking spots, and when it's busy... You're better parking elsewhere. Despite the hectic parking situation, I'll still give them four stars.

Yelp
Tried Pho Gyu in Koreatown for lunch and was impressed with their take on pho. We ordered the wagyu and the spicy brisket. The broth was rich and flavorful without being too heavy, and the beef was tender and well-prepared. Portion sizes were generous, and the noodles had a nice texture that held up in the soup. They also have vegetables bar which I think it's really good. The appetizers were ok both the taro egg rolls and the volcano chicken. The restaurant itself is clean and modern, with a comfortable vibe. Service was quick and friendly, though it did get a little busy during peak hours. Overall, a great spot for pho in K-Town definitely worth checking out if you're craving a warm, hearty bowl.

Yelp
Please and thank you!!! I ordered off Grubhub so I can't speak to the ambiance. The soup was packaged very well and was still hot when it was delivered. I've always considered myself not to be a pho girl, I usually opt for ramen. But I wanted something light, and this may have converted me to pho it was sooo good and a great portion size. Leftovers for the next night and a little even the night after that. The little basil they put in the soup is oddly soooo tasty. I actually ate them lmfao. Craving it again now. I actually bought a basil plant for my herb garden bc of it but not sure if it's the right variety. Sooo good. Sooo good. Will definitely be a recurring order for me from now on. I got the regular beef pho, but may splurge for the Wagyu next time.

Yelp
Would like to try this place for pho soup. Parking is bad as you can't find a parking spot right away and it's too small area for the parking. Food was fine but not as great as I'm expecting. I bought wagyu pho and chicken wings to go. Place is not that busy but I also waited. Servers are not really that welcoming.

Yelp
Was looking for good pho around LA and saw the stellar reviews for Pho Gyu. It did not disappoint! Coming from 626, you know how high our expectations are for pho! The inside was clean with a good amount of seating and a fresh toppings bar with onions, green onions, juicy limes, mint leaves, and bean sprouts. Really love the self serve style. Service was quick to take our order and the menu prices were pretty affordable for dinner. They also have some great lunch specials I'll have to come back to try! I tried their Pho gyu 101 which came with tender brisket, hearty soup, and soft noodles. My bf got the Wagyu beef with the brisket and loved it as well. Both of them had the same pho base and noodles, just more meat on the Wagyu beef. Alsoo, be careful coming into the parking lot. Very tight entrances and limited parking spots. May be better to find street parking! Overall a very clean spot and great place for Pho especially in LA!

Yelp
Small new spot in small strip mall off Western across from McDonald's. Cute, clean small space with nice decor. Only my first visit but definitely will be back to try the large bowl with beef ribs!! We tried the lunch special... !! Only $15 for a choice of beef or chicken pho and a choice of egg rolls, half order of banmi or another appetizer option? Great deal!!! Offered. Monday thru Friday 11-3pm!! They even have a small unlimited access cart for self service with onions, cilantro, chopped jalepenos, asian basil, sprouts, lime and even green onion!! Ingenious!!! I wish more would offer this!! Simply awesome!! Staff were super attentive and friendly!' Highly recommended!!

Yelp
I like this place, the interior is clean and very inviting, nothing compared to its outside look. This is a decent pho place, their menu is straightforward and not complicated to order into. They have a vegetable section where you can get as much as you want, this is for your pho. They also offer some iced tea or flavoured drinks. I like my Pho Gyu plus vegetable egg roll lunch menu. The taste of the soup is very good and the meat is tender. I love everything about this. The service is quick however while we are there during lunch time, they served multiple dishes to us incorrectly, maybe they need to improve on their attentiveness on orders and customers.
google avatar

Yelp
Ordered takeout and almost choked on a piece of plastic that was in my Pho. It was supposed to be my dinner but I couldn't eat anymore because the plastic in my Pho made me question how sanitary the kitchen is.

Yelp
This review is overdue as I have come here multiple times but it's 100% my favorite pho restaurant. The broth is so flavorful and delicious you don't even want to add sriracha or hoisin sauce. It's the perfect amount of noodle so you don't get full quick and I looove their tendon! The service is quick and nice.

Yelp
This place is sooo good, the food here is amazing! We came as a party of 2 around 7PM, greeted and seated immediately. The parking around is a bit cramped but we were luckily able to get a spot but street parking is available as well. We ordered 1 Wagyu Beef Pho ($13.95) and 1 Rib Pho ($16.95) and it was all so delicious. The flavor of the meat and broth was so unique than what I've tried before; the meat literally melts in your mouth it's so good. They also have a vegetable bar so you can grab what you'd want to add to your soup (you do need to ask for chili oil). This is definitely a spot you need to try if you're looking for a new pho place. The environment is super cozy with a modern touch and the employees are very nice and welcoming. Overall a great experience, will definitely come here again in the future.

Yelp
My first pho in LA and I gotta say... Pho Gyu did not disappoint. I got the Pho GYU 101 and vegetarian egg rolls delivered, and everything was still hot, crispy, and super tasty. The packaging was solid too--nothing spilled, and everything stayed fresh. Honestly, I can't even imagine how much better it would be fresh in the restaurant!
google avatar

Marina M.

Yelp
The food was okay. I think I ordered the wrong pho. My boyfriend really enjoy his pho. He liked the unlimited topping bar and the refill of the broth. The service was nice. It was a decent ambiance nothing spectacular
google avatar

Yelp
It's literally best Pho restaurant ever! I have eaten here thousand times and every time it was amazingly tasty!
google avatar

Savannah R.

Yelp
Not the first time I ate here and won't be the last! The food the service and how clean the place and restrooms are top tier! The food has a rich taste for how much it costs you will be amazed. Prices are great and for me to not like pho till Pho Gyu says everything.

Yelp
We had joined the waitlist through yelp because it was an option and we arrived during our window, only to find out we were not even on the restaurants waitlist. This is complete misleading information and a broken integration between yelp and google. Please fix your system. Can't even make a good comment about the food yet since we couldn't even try it due to this broken system. Very disappointed cause we ubered here.

Yelp
This review is long overdue, but what a hidden gem! The pho is absolutely delicious - rich, flavorful broth with perfectly cooked noodles that have just the right amount of chew. They have a self-serve veggie bar to grab basil, bean sprouts, lime, and jalapeños for the dishes. Everything is always super fresh. The beef banh mi was a total flavor bomb. Solid bread in my opinion - crispy on the outside, soft and airy on the inside. The meat was tender, well-seasoned, and packed with flavor. Every bite was just pure joy. Heads up though, the parking lot is incredibly small with limited spaces, so it can be tricky to find a spot (as with all places in ktown). Definitely worth if spots are available though. The inside is clean and somewhat modern looking. Service and food prep were fast and efficient. Don't sleep on their weekday lunch special - pho and half banh mi combo for $15, such a great deal for the quality! It's one of my go-to lunch spots for that deal alone!

Yelp
Ever since I discover pho I been obsessed This location and another in Eagle rock have been so far my gold star favorites . Whenever I feel nostalgic or in need of a hug I know that pho is going to take care of all those feelings and make me feel good. My three go to phos are the chicken, spicy with brisket and the regular brisket. I usually order uber eats from this location and my order is nicely packaged . I am looking forward to visiting the restaurant soon.

Yelp
Found this from Yelp when I suddenly had a noodle and soup craving. It was 15 mins from where I was, so took a gamble and went for it. What wonderful way to start my 2025 Yelp adventures! I went with the wagyu beef pho, and was impressed with the flavor that only wagyu can give, but without the typical bubbles of melted fat floating around the soup. That's right, NOT GREASY! The best! One thing done differently here is the self-service toppings bar for onions, bean sprouts, basil, etc. I like this because I always cringe at the amount of leftover toppings I never end up using in my pho. This way, I get exactly what I want, and have no guilty remorse for leftover condiments. I also got the Angel Wings, western style. Delish, crispy, and again, no overwhelming greasy after taste. This place does everything clean, and in here for it! Only downside about this place is parking. They are located in a small mini mall corner, so if you come at the wrong hour, you might end up frustrated looking for street parking once the spots fill up. I lucked out on this visit, and found a spot on the same block, 100 feet away. Highly recommend!

Yelp
It's hard to fault this place. Their food is delicious, service is good, and the space is very clean. We ordered the Wagyu pho and beef toro pho, which came out in 6 minutes, pretty quick. The Wagyu beef is overrated and I don't think it works for the pho, but the toro is 100% the way to go. It provides a nice cut with rich meat and fat. As for the broth, it's pretty authentic though a little peppery, like ground black pepper. For dine-in, you get unlimited noodles! That's a game changer and I think it makes up for the higher than average price. The noodle refills do taste a little more plain though, because they haven't had the chance to sit in the broth.
google avatar

Adriana R.

Yelp
I was welcomed with a smile, the place was clean and the food was delicious. I would definitely be back.

Yelp
3.75 tbh. Solid broth. Solid noodles. AMAZING crispy coke, perfect temp. The service was good to say the least. Welcoming environment, diversity.

Yelp
We found this place randomly. Our usual pho was closed down so we drove to the nearest one . We loved it . Pho is 10/10 . Service 10/10 ambiance 10/10 and very clean . My kids loved it and asked to come back so total we came back 2nd time around . My daughter eat all of her pho soup my son loved his food . My pho soup 10/10 And they have a condiment bar which is the best .

Yelp
This is a reliable pho spot - not phenomenal but I would return due to proximity to me! The portions are big and flavorful. I went with the beef wagyu pho and my only criticism is that I wish the meat was in smaller pieces so I could get more balanced bites. I enjoyed the toppings bar which contains limes, sprouts, green onions, onions and jalapenos. The service was average, not bad not great. If I would've been asked how I was doing throughout the meal I probably would've ordered a side of egg rolls to try out.
google avatar

Sheryl S.

Yelp
Woot! Let me tell you about this place--first off, the customer service was excellent from the moment I was greeted. The food was outstanding, and my favorite was the beef banh mi sandwich. The bread was perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside--exactly the texture you want in a banh mi. The place is small with limited parking, but hey, it's LA--you know the wait is worth it. The food was excellent, and I highly recommend this spot!

Yelp
Amazing everything. Best pho in LA. Service is amazing. Ambience is casual. Prices are AMAZING and free noodle refill
google avatar

Seohyun P.

Yelp
Not gonna lie; mid af pho. If you are expecting real pho, this place is not it. It is not authentic-- more fusiony with korean flavors. I love their topping bar though; unlimited cilantro and onions!! spring roll and their peanut sauce was also pretty mid. I probably wouldn't go back, but then again this is one of the few pho places located in ktown.

Yelp
LOVED IT!! My hubby is from Vietnam and this has been his favorite restaurant for Vietnamese in Southern California! So happy we found it. When we walked in, someone was already waiting to seat us at a clean table. We felt so welcomed! Me and my husband both said "it smells good in here." Haha. It was a clean restaurant and we could see them preparing the meat in the back. So fresh! Our server Jesse had the biggest friendliest smile. We ordered the wagyu pho and spring rolls. Hands down best spring rolls we have ever had- they put both beef and shrimp inside but the beef wasn't overdone, it was the perfect amount and ratio. The peanut sauce was perfect too. Overall sooo yummy.
google avatar

Hoonie K.

Yelp
I had lunch here today. The setting is very nice: clean and modern. I love the toppings bar (you get your mung bean sprouts, onions, lime, herbs, etc.) and wish all pho restaurants would do the same! The service was good. I had the rib pho (4/5). The serving size is large and the dish comes with two very big ribs with lots of meat on it. My only knock on the dish is that the broth is too sweet. Towards getting to the end of the dish, I was getting sick of the lingering sweetness. If it wasn't for this, everything else about the restaurant would be perfect.
google avatar

Ry X.

Yelp
Absolutely incredible pho! The broth is rich, flavorful, and clearly made with care -- you can taste the depth and hours of simmering in every spoonful. The cuts of meat are tender, generous, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Everything here feels thoughtfully prepared with real attention to quality. Friendly service, fresh ingredients, and comforting, authentic flavors make Pho Gyu an easy 5 stars. A must-try spot in K-Town!

Yelp
Update - Still absolutely in love with this place. I see them more than my family at this point
google avatar

Jimmy D.

Yelp
I've had a lot of different pho soup, from basic plain , to super flavorful, however I've never had a spicy flavor pho like this. It's unique in its own way, the soup was spicy yet not too spicy where you cannot taste the flavor. It's not your typical pho tasting soup with spice, it's different and well worthy of a taste. I was a bit concerned when I saw it but after tasting it, I really enjoyed it. We went when it opened right up, so the server was there practically immediately. She was nice, and also very quick to provide us with water and utensils. The location is in a small plaza, new spot but can be overlooked if you don't look for it?(hope that made sense) with a lot of other pho spots in the nearby vicinity, I opted to come here, and it was worth it. I will be returning for their basic pho , vermicelli and banh mi !!

Yelp
I was looking for a quick bite and was craving Vietnamese. Went to searching on yelp, and the name alone caught my eye lol I love it! Walked in, welcomed with a smile and ordered my app Togo. She told me it'll take 10 min, that made me happy alone; you know they made these to order!!!! I was in my car waiting and she opened the door to signal me my food was ready, super sweet! Inside had sole folks chowing down with tables full of variety of food. Really enjoyed my appetizer, the way it smelled so good I'm sure the rest of the menu is delicious ! Defff keeping on my go to list
google avatar

Seongsun J.

Yelp
Lunch special was very filling for the price. Broth is good considering price and location - for those who insist you need to get out of LA for good pho. Self serve veggies available! Small but cozy space. Service was a bit sparse as I think only 1 server was working during the lunch rush.
google avatar

Christina L.

Yelp
Incredible establishment with a small free parking lot. They have a lunch combo deal on weekdays but we went on a Saturday unfortunately. The food comes quickly, servers are attentive, and I think the self serve toppings bar is a really sustainable and smart idea (it's also kept very clean)! We were also offered extra noodles at the end to eat with our soup (I packed it in a to go box which was very nice of them). Spring rolls: delicious and fresh, the peanut dipping sauce was also a little lighter than ones I have had before and I liked it a lot better Wagyu toro pho: DELECTABLE. The fat made the broth richer and fattier which I loved. I would come back here for this again. One of my favorite phos in LA!!!!
google avatar

Brian O.

Yelp
Definitely the best Pho in k towns Simple but very good, place is immaculate and the staff is so nice. I also like the fresh toooings bar concept, it comes plain. Defintley my go to spot

Connie B.

Yelp
Food was fantastic and the service was wonderful. The ambiance was inviting and the music was as if they had my playlist. Try the lemonade fantastic!
google avatar

Yelp
I think the pho is amazing here! I get the wagyu beef pho. It's never too busy inside which I like as well Only downside, the lack of parking makes it difficult to eat here often. The other day, my mom and I wanted to eat here but we spent 40 mins driving around the area looking for parking and couldn't find any so we went to another restaurant. Unfortunately the downside of ktown
google avatar

Madeline V.

Yelp
Pho Gyu is my favorite spot for pho in LA. The broth is immaculate and the noodles are so tender-- don't get me started on the beef!! It's all around amazing. Staff is super kind and friendly. They let me try the green Thai tea before I ordered it and answered my question on the origination of their name because I thought it was a take of 'f u' lol the waitress thought it was funny and told me that the owners didn't think of it in that way before! The restaurant lets you sit wherever you'd like which is a nice touch as well.
google avatar

Tae K.

Yelp
Gotta appreciate a little cheeky play in words name. Decent place to satisfy a pho craving. Service was friendly. Parking is tight
google avatar

Benjamin R.

Yelp
The pho was pretty descent! I liked the soup, it was very flavorful. The beef could have been a bit more tender. A less chewy yet thicker meat would have been better to soak in the flavor of the soup!

Yelp
I've been meaning to leave a review for Phogyu after dining here over five times in the past year, and they never disappoint. They've been adding new menu items, and I've thoroughly enjoyed trying their different selections. My favorites are the House wagyu Pho, Spicy Brisket Pho, and the House Special Vermicelli. If you're like me and love trying a little bit of everything, I highly recommend the House Special Vermicelli. It comes with plenty of fresh veggies, flavorful beef, lightly fried shrimp, and a crispy spring roll :) Also when I'm not feeling well, this is my go-to spot for a comforting bowl of hot soup that always hits the spot. Parking can be a bit tricky since it's located in a small plaza, but when that happens, I just order to-go and it's worth it! Price is also reasonable for the portion of food you get!
google avatar

Paris C.

Yelp
Recently came back to Phogyu since my first visit a few months back, and I noticed they added to the menu quite a bit. I tried the chicken rice plate, and it was delicious -- highly recommend!! Especially if you're a fan of sweet and salty, the soy glaze on the chicken complements the fried rice.

Esther G.

Yelp
Order delivery. Lots of veggies provided. Got the beef rib pho which has a really flavorful tender rib accompanied by a little brisket. Th meat I think outshines the broth. Would recommend if looking for a good decent bowl.
google avatar

Judevasily S.

Yelp
The place is in a tiny plaza with horrible parking. The service was ok that time we went was around 6 pm service was good the only thing is that self service to get your onions cilantro and etc. The chicken was on point it wasn't soggy at all it was crispy at the same time had that spicy flavor. The pho was kind of bland for me the beef ribs on other hand is fall of the bone tender. Inside is nice clean.
google avatar

Joseph B.

Yelp
This review is more for me than anyone else.... And I don't care. Writing this review because I want to bookmark this place for myself whenever I'm back in the area. Pho-gyu (say it fast, it's worth it) checked all the boxes for me from food, to service and fantastic price point. Got the vermicelli bowl and it was amazing. Tried the mixed bowl (beef and shrimp) and honestly could have taken a second bowl if I didn't stop myself. They also have some lunch specials which gives you the chance to try a couple things at once. I can't wait to come back here when I'm in the area and try one of their bahn mis

Yelp
Love the texture of the vermicelli, so silky! The portions are plenty; flavors are spot on. Basic, clean diner setting with fast service.

Yelp
Pho Gyu is now added to my favorite pho places in Koreatown! Located at the corner of Western & 7th Street (next to Boba Story), it is a cozy spot for some Korean-style pho especially on a breezy evening. I ordered their Pho Gyu 101, without jalapeños and onions (due to dietary reasons). On top of their menu, there is also a bar offering different toppings located on the left side of the restaurant. Our orders were ready in approximately 7 minutes and were piping hot. I truly dig the presentation of their pho on a ramen-style bowl. At first I was puzzled, but it suited well with Pho Gyu's modern and fusion concept. It had a generous amount of thin rice noodles, thinly sliced beef, pho broth and dashes of cilantro and sliced green onions. On the first sip, I can taste so much umami and is genuinely among the best phos I tasted in KTown. I truly was impressed with the thinly sliced beef because the texture reminded me of gyudon, except in the form of pho. The beef was fresh, tender and truly tasty. I did not leave this place without finishing my entire bowl. I will definitely be back again at Pho Gyu to try their other pho bowls and their rice plates too!
