"Bring your own bottle (of beer or wine) to this family-owned and operated Vietnamese gem. Pho Hong has been lauded as having Burlington’s best pho, and it’s easy on the wallet with spring rolls, curries, “Happy Pancakes” (crepes stuffed with shrimp, pork and onions), and a long list of chef’s specials under $15." - Heather Platt

Google
I’m 50/50 about this Vietnamese place. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Very attentive. Place is clean and many customers. I like the soup from pho but I really don’t like the chicken. Even the chicken from the platter tasted dry. Spring rolls are good tho. Crispy outside and flavorful inside. Small parking lot right next to it. Convenient for parking (free).

Google
My favorite restaurant in Burlington. The pho is delicious, but the other menu items are also amazing. I love the clay pot shrimp and hot & sour soup (pineapple tamarind flavor). The staff are super nice at this local, family-run establishment. They don’t take reservations and get quite busy on the weekends - so plan accordingly!

Google
Perfect as usual! Service was great, our food came out quick and was delicious. Spring roll app was piping hot and the mango salad was cool, sweet and had a spiciness that was just right. Pho was as to be expected: the best. Considering there’s several pho joints in the area, Pho Hong sets itself apart as the original Vietnamese joint in Burlington with their unique and inviting ambience and whatever special spices they use in their soup. Exceptional.

Google
Otherworldly experience. Delicious food, significant diversity amongst menu items. Something for all palates. BYOB. Sweet. Menu prices more than reasonable for the level of quality. Fantastic tea and milkshakes. Staff was punctual and personable despite the night being busy. Couldn't ask for anything more. Had such a good experience the first time, that I went again the following night with the same party. Would have been there three nights in a row if they were open on Sundays. Do yourself a solid, and stop in. You will not be disappointed!

We were at Pho Hong for a Saturday lunch. The restaurant was pretty nice, clean and tidy. There were lots of customers when we arrived. It is really family run business, as we saw bunch of young siblings trying to run the tables and checkouts. Full marks to them for being so young and doing their job as well as adults. We started with the tom yum soup and spring rolls. The rolls were crunchy with good ingredients in the middle. The tom yum was decent, it wasn’t as citrusy or spicy as I like. For entree I got the grilled chicken with rice vermicelli and vegetables. I loved the grilled chicken. But the quantity didn’t seem enough even though I ordered extra meat. There was also way too much carrots in the bowl. The service was fine. Food came out in short time. There was also 3.25% credit card fee, that was not mentioned in the receipt or checkout tray, I only saw it posted in from of the register when I was leaving the restaurant.

Google
really great pho and i really loved the grilled pork, forgot what it’s called but it was really good. the BBH was quite spicy to my taste but for those who love spicy food would definitely like it. the mango sticky rice was ok for $6, i didn’t expect much anyway.

Google
Enjoyed a bowl of pho, spring rolls, and iced tea on a Friday. Would highly recommend ordering ahead for takeout or doing a lunch. I was able to get a seat at 5:20 on a Friday immediately but within just 10 minutes there was a crowd out the door waiting for seats or their takeout. Staff was so friendly and lovely despite how busy it was. Food was great, did not come pre-spiced but there’s plenty of fixings at the table to adjust to your preferences! Spring rolls were really well made!

Google
Always the best food and service. They are always full, and you can expect a wait at peak times and on weekend nights, but they are efficient with getting you seated. Even still, you won’t feel rushed through your meal. We’ve always had everything come out reasonably quick, and always piping hot. Service is always very friendly. Definitely recommend the Tiger Rolls (#3) as an appetizer. Pho, curry, rice, any of the entrees are a great choice. Wonderful spot.

Yelp
Hands down the best Vietnamese food in town. Lovely hardworking staff and great service! Quick service and amazing food. I've been a regular for a few years now and I have never left unsatisfied! :)

Bechu R.

Yelp
It was a pretty cozy place, I really liked the amount of seating, the service was quick and the staff were very friendly. The food was AMAZING my friend and I really loved it, I do recommend! (I got the spicy beef and pork noodles and she got the chicken noodles)

Joey W.

Yelp
We were staying in Burlington for a night and was craving something soupy during the fall weather. We were pleasantly surprised to find that it was an authentic spot. It was very busy but we were still able to get a table right away. Com Xuong Tom Nuong - the pork was very tender and very flavorful. I liked the slicked tomatoes and cucumbers to add some crunch. Pho tai - the soup was light and hearty. The noodles were good but the flank steak was a little tough.

John L.

Yelp
This place is amazing! The pho #8 broth is one of the best. Savory and comfort, it is something worth journeying 4.5 from Rhode Island! My kids had the Vietnamese fried rice and had a few bites of it and the flavor was perfect, sweet, salty and full of flavor. My wife got the #15 Bun Thjt Nong Cha Gio and it was equally savory and delicious! Would come again and again!

Carolyn S.

Yelp
So delicious, friendly, and speedy! Definitely coming here regularly now. Easy street parking and a parking lot.

Lucas J.

Yelp
So excellent. The food was fresh and delicious the service was quite fine. Nice ambiance

Keiran W.

Yelp
Arrived at 5:10 on a Friday and was seated immediately. Quick service, great price especially for Burlington standards. Ordered the pork and vegetable egg rolls. Both solid. We ordered the beef pho with all the meat and #20 stir fry with chicken. Both were delicious. Left at 5:50 and there was a line to be seated, recommend coming early.

Ashwini D.

Yelp
Good food good service, wait times was a bit on a higher side due to Saturday dinner times. BYOB was a huge plus. Parking during such times is tricky, although they had plenty space. Just FYI the front street parking was tight and saw a car bumping into another one due to the crunch. It ran away obv. Order wise - had the Pho chay - the vegetarian pho with veggies - broccoli , yellow squash, red and green peppers(odd) tofu. The broth was delicious no doubt but it was odd to have the veggies in it. We ordered the large which tbh is on the smalle The wait times on the table was also longer due to the rush, the restaurant had a good footfall and seemed pretty impressive and you could smell the broth fragrance. Mango salad on the side is quite small but tasty, the tofu summer roll that came with the side dip was delicious as well.

Brittney L.

Yelp
Great service. They're nice and the food is so good! I really recommend it. I Loved the egg rolls. It tends to get really busy so be prepared for that. Otherwise, it's a cute place.

Jon T.

Yelp
Wow!!!! Our friend Bridget recommended this great restaurant to us and we couldn't resist. We ordered #4 and 10. We love the chicken pho!!! The place is clean and busy! The staff were fantastic!!!!

Macy T.

Yelp
If you come on a Saturday be prepared to wait to be seated, to get a menu, to get your order taken, to get your food and to get the check. We arrived shortly after 6, not left shortly after 8. When we arrived and saw the crowd outside we knew the food was going to be good and were ok to wait. Vietnamese food, once ordered, generally gets served shortly after, especially if it's pho or any grilled meat over vermicelli. Lets start that we waited 20 minutes to get called for a seat, once we sat down, they seated another table behind us. However they got served water before us. When the busboy looked over and noticed we don't have water, he brought the water and at that time I mentioned we were ready to order. He said Ok, and left. Left and forgot about us. We waited another 10 minutes for the same bus boy to pass by and ask again if our order could be taken. 5 minutes later, the waiter comes over, he's super friendly ama very nice and took our order. We waited 20 minutes for grilled pork over a bed of vermicelli, 5 minutes later the mixed vegetables with chicken arrived. After 35 minutes of waiting our pho finally arrived. When the pho arrived, we had to send back the mixed vegetables with chicken because there was a produce label mixed into the food. The waiter takes it back only to have another person bring back the same order but on a different plate less than 5 minutes later. This is very questionable now, it took 25 minutes for the dish to ever come to the table and after we identified that the vegetables were obviously not washed thoroughly. They poured the same food onto different plate and brought it to the table because the plate of food wasn't even hot. We all ate our food except for the chicken with mixed vegetables because we were starving. The bill was brought to us and we asked for them to remove the mixed vegetable dish. We had to wait another 10 minutes for the new bill, which they never brought to us and we had to approach the register to inquire. this place obviously serves good food, but the lack of staffing leaves the experience less than desirable. They only had two waiters and one bus boy, and one person at the register and one person bagging all the takeout orders. It's obvious that they are understaffed. I definitely recommending not going on a weekend during dinner time , if you want to try authentic Vietnamese food.

Alia L.

Yelp
Amazing food every time I'm in, I highly suggest the #44! Service is always super friendly! Great atmosphere, I will always come back here!

Yelp
Wow, this family owned restaurant has some AMAZING Vietnamese food. I live in Los Angeles, & have eaten food all over Asia, so listen to me when I say that some of the most authentic dishes can be found HERE! We drove by on a Tuesday night, & the crowd waiting outside made us look them up on Yelp. And then return for lunch a couple days later, practically right when they opened. Parking was easy in their lot, & we were greeted super warmly. We placed a to-go order, & it was ready right on time. EVERYTHING we tried was AWESOME: #4 Goi Cuon - fresh spring rolls with plump shrimp, crispy veggies & herbs, and a hoisin-y dipping sauce. SO GOOD! #24 Banh Xeo - a crispy crepe packed with bean sprouts, onions, shrimp & pork, w/shredded lettuce & lots of delish nuoc mam to pour over it all. YUM!! #15 Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio - rice noodles topped w/grilled marinated pork, & crispy eggrolls (& nuoc mam) - SO GOOD!! #33 Bun Nem Nuong Cha Gio - rice noodles, crispy eggrolls, delish caramelized bbq pork, green apple slices, bean sprouts, lettuce, cucumber, crushed peanuts & nuoc mam. So filled, they had to keep the container closed with rubber bands! GET THIS!! #21 Spicy Szechuan Eggplant w/tofu - eggplant, carrots, bell peppers, green beans, onions, zucchini, mushrooms, and fried tofu in a delicious spicy sauce over jasmine rice. SO GOOD! Mango w/Sticky Rice - my absolute favorite dessert!! The one here rivals the best I ever had, on the streets in Kuala Lumpur! GET THIS. This is WORLD CLASS Vietnamese food. I'll be back for more, & to try the pho. A MUST EAT in Burlington!

Yelp
The food is always fresh and delicious. The staff are amazingly nice friendly people. The restaurant is spotlessly clean. I so appreciate Pho Hong being my favorite Restaurant in Burlington.

Lee M.

Yelp
Best pho around! Bun dishes good too. I liked the beef with onions on rice noodles or the grilled pork. Mango salad is a must. Service is friendly and welcoming. Lace is simply decorated but clean and bright. I'm becoming a regular!

Lisa W.

Yelp
When in Vermont, this is the place to dine. Food is fresh and made to order. Go early for this restaurant is extremely busy and try the duck!

Stella S.

Yelp
Service was fantastic, the workers were very friendly The food came out in quick time despite being pretty busy Pho was impeccable, the hoisin sauce as well - enjoyed the addition of complimentary tea

Danny B.

Yelp
Whenever I go to a pho restaurant outside of SoCal, Houston, or the ATL area, I tend to lower my expectations because I am often disappointed by its lack of authenticity. I was extremely impressed with Pho Hong. It is among the top 2 pho restaurants I've tried across all of New England, and I've tried many. The pho's broth is flavorful and authentic. If you're coming from any of the places I mentioned above, I would recommend getting the large bowl over regular since I found the regular a bit smaller in portion relative to what I've had in these areas. Banh xeo is a dish most places have a difficult time getting right. They knocked it out of the park here. It's crispy, large, and they got the fish sauce right. I wish I had more room to try some of the other dishes on their menu since there were many traditional Vietnamese dishes. Customer service was excellent as well. If you're used to eating banh xeo traditionally, you've probably eaten it wrapped in lettuce or rice paper. The lettuce in the dish comes shredded. This is understandable as most people would not understand how to eat it using these methods, so their approach simplifies it. When we asked for rice paper, a staff member quickly brought us some as well a bowl of hot water to cook it. There is a parking lot that was packed, but we had no problem finding a spot on the street. The restaurant is clean and has many tables without packing them too closely to other diners. Despite being a Tuesday night, both inside and outside the restaurant were packed and I can understand why. Definitely a must visit if you're in Burlington!

Gia G.

Yelp
Really can't say enough about how amazing this food is. Whether I am taking out or eating in, the quality and freshness is always 100%. The best Vietnamese restaurant in Burlington not only in Burlington but probably all of Vermont! If you go, do yourself a favor and get the mango salad, fresh spring rolls, any of the pho's or other dry noodle dishes. I've never had anything I didn't fully enjoy here! If you are craving something sweet by the end of your meal, get the mango sticky rice! It leaves me speechless every time!

Edorah F.

Yelp
This is the best Vietnamese food anywhere. You can't go wrong on the menu. They expanded their popular restaurant to create more space. It's comfortable, lively and bright.

Eugene W.

Yelp
Fantastic pho. I'm normally not a pho person, but this place is a home run. I got the classic pho tai for $12. The large is only $1 more, but I thought the regular was enough food. The broth was delicious. It had a deep richness that is rare in pho broth. The noodles were the perfect texture. They were very generous with the meat. The tom yum soup was delicious. Very nice balance of sour and hot. I do wish they used straw mushrooms though. The staff were super busy, but were trying their best to serve everyone.

Allison L.

Yelp
Found this restaurant on Yelp's top 100 New England list and it definitely deserves its spot. Came here for lunch and sat outside, only to have it start raining shortly after. The staff were very kind and quickly found us a seat inside. The steak pho (Pho Tai) we had was phenomenal. It was so hearty and savory and not too salty. The noodles were also super chewy and had a good texture! I drank the whole bowl, which I usually never do. Super solid pho place. Definitely would come back.

J G.

Yelp
An impressive spot that has a longstanding reputation for excellence. Delicious, consistent food. Recommended.

Marco P.

Yelp
Amazing, 10/10. Fantastic food and service. Ambiance isn't noteworthy because the food takes center stage. Go here!

April R.

Yelp
I have been searching for a Pho place I can enjoy whenever I come to Burlington. Did not disappoint. The broth was superb and the service was extraordinary. You can tell they care about the quality and taste. Thank you. I'll be back often.

Sandra T.

Yelp
Family and I were vacationing in St Albans and upstate New York from Texas and I hadn't had any Vietnamese food for about 10 days.....I was getting antsy.....found this place on Google and it had decent Yelp Reviews. THIS PLACE HAS SOME OF THE BEST PHO IVE EVER HAD. I am Vietnamese so pho was probably the first real food as a baby. Side note both my 4 year old and 1 year old both had huge servings and my 4 year old said it was the best pho she's ever had. I am literally still sitting at the restaurant now and I had to write this review! Yum!!!!!

Lili S.

Yelp
They serve decent Vietnamese food here, but the Pho Tai Nam, Bo Vien (#8) was sweet and I was hoping for a savory soup. The crab cream cheese rolls were a good appetizer but the breading was a little flaky and dry. The spring rolls, however, were delicious.

Paja Y.

Yelp
Stopped here with my partner and we came on a Friday night and it was packed. Which is always a good sign that the food is good lol. Took about 15-20 mins for a table and we ordered 2 bowls of pho which had all the meats. It was delicious! The broth was full of flavor and was so earthy and aromatic, so good! Would recommend this place!

Alathia P.

Yelp
Some of the best pho I have ever had. They were very busy, but they took care of me very quickly and were very nice! I would definitely go again.

Jack B.

Yelp
I love this place so much. I've been going here for about 6 years now and I have never left unsatisfied. The food is amazing, the staff are so kind and hardworking. I will always be a frequent customer here!

Janet M.

Yelp
We went looking for Thai but ended up here and glad we did. It was very busy but we didn't wait long to be seated. We were given menus and served tea which was so refreshing. I had Bun Ga Nuong with tofu. There was a huge amount of crisp fried tofu and it was sooo yummy. My daughter had chicken wings and said they were also flavorful. Plenty of off street parking. Staff was super friendly. Note: the prices reflect the cash price and this is noted at the register. There is an up charge for credit cards.

J P.

Yelp
What can I add except that the food was delightful, the service was welcoming, and I intend to revisit?

Siyu B.

Yelp
Super super amazing. Delicately cooked dishes. Quick service. My partner and I are from New York and we come here every time we go to Stowe for skiing

Erin H.

Yelp
Giving this five stars. Loved how homey the place was. We got there around 6:20 on a Saturday, and it was SLAMMED. Like so so busy. Every employee was running around. We got seated within 10 or so min but I think we got in right before a huge rush hit. We eventually had to flag a server down to take our order cuz we waited a while but they were so nice about it. Got the vegan pho (pho chaį) in a large, and it was great. So many veggies (the most I've ever had in pho) and tons of tofu. The broth was good. And a large was huge and only $14. Servers were so kind despite being so busy. I would highly recommend this place but maybe come before 6 pm if you have any time constraints. Also lots of free parking.

Anthony K.

Yelp
You won't find a bad dish on the menu. This place rules, and the staff is very kind! My favorite is the house special fried rice, it's addictive.

Summer F.

Yelp
Busy place but staff is super hardworking and food comes out decently quick. Broth for the pho is very flavorful and I was super happy to find tasty pho here in Burlington. I will definitely be coming back and hope to try new things on the menu. I saw a couple people ordering the mango salad and boy did that look delicious P.s. my meal came with hot tea which is a huge plus in my books!

Jeff C.

Yelp
I really enjoyed dinner at Pho Hong. Though the restaurant was busy even on a weekday evening, I can see why given how delicious our dinner was. Their pho was awesome with a flavorful broth. The other dishes that we got were delicious as well. Prices were reasonable. Service was great. The staff was friendly, attentive and patient in explaining the options on their menu. This was one of the best restaurants that I found in my two weeks visiting Burlington. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Burlington!

Nora W.

Yelp
This place was AMAZING!!! For sure recommend. The only negative of this place is the wait. It opens at 5 and we arrived at 5:30, it was very busy. Our waiter was very friendly. We had read another review that recommended what food to order. It was only two of us so we didn't order a lot. They have milkshakes, lemonade, and iced tea. They also have fountain sodas and water. For food we decided to share 2 dishes. First we got number #24 bahn xeo and #7 Pho tai. The bahn xeo is basically a crepe with meat and onions with lettuce on the side. It also comes with a dipping sauce. It was good. I thought it had too much onion for my taste but still good. What really blew me away was the Pho Tai. It was probably one of the best things I have ever eaten. The broth was very good, but what made this dish even better was that we added hot sauce. We didn't at too much but it was enough to give it a kick. I would definitely recommend doing that. The tables in this place are spread out a little bit so you have some room. It's not too loud.

Oliver A.

Yelp
Great food and very kind staff. I go here a lot, very warm and spacious . My personal favorite is Beef Pho. Broth is sweet and savory, beef cooked well and has deep flavor. The deep fried rolls with pork are good. i couldn't remember the name lol. The sauce is great. They recently did a renovation to make the restaurant bigger and it is beautiful. i would give them 5 stars any day

Hattie T.

Yelp
I love it here. Wish i could come here everyday and get the beef pho. melting on my tastebuds every time.

Andrew S.

Yelp
One of our favorite Pho restaurants in town for dining or take-out. Staff is always friendly.

Rebecca S.

Yelp
Great food. Take out can be a 20 min wait so order ahead. Get the large for $1 more. Bring cash! If you pay by credit add 3.5 processing fee to cover costs.

Andrea R.

Yelp
The Pork was good- but other than that, it was ok. I was expecting the egg rolls to be much better but they were dried out. We ordered the Satay and Vermicelli Noodles- next time, we'll get some pho! Service was nice and this shop was BUSY! Watch our experience here: https://youtu.be/RSqjUcsAtN0?si=xAU74r_szlQMOkrD&t=936

River D.

Yelp
Pho Hong has been consistently excellent for years. the chicken vermicelli is second to none. Unfortunately, their food is slipping. last night, Tuesday at 5:30 we took Home an order of chicken vermicelli that was oily. most of the chicken had been recooked, was hard and inedible. Had we been in the restaurant we would have sent it back. I know good employees are hard to find. Quality control is important to their customers. They are slipping.

R W.

Yelp
So good! The food is amazing! I've been three times, the first time was to eat there and the other two were pick up orders. Inside is nice, they also have some outside seating during the summer. The staff is always great too, super nice and helpful. The food has always been delicious and comes out hot and quick. Can't wait to go back!!!

Dr. Jaime G.

Yelp
Great food! Great service! Great ambiance! We definitely will become frequent flyers of this restaurant!!!

Corynn B.

Yelp
Pho Hong is the backbone of the Burlington food scene. I've lived out of state for many years and I've never craved something as much as I crave Pho Hong. It's my first stop every time I come home. The food is amazing, and the service is unparalleled. I've never seen a service staff work harder than the servers here. When i was there this afternoon, the cashier was taking orders, serving tables, bussing tables, ringing people up - I don't know how he did it and kept track of everything AND had time to remember people's names and wish them a happy new year and a great day. The spring rolls are so delicious - I've tried a lot of spring rolls over the years and nothing compares the spring rolls here. I always get the 16 with tofu and it never disappoints. It's always really crowded here and there's limited seating so make sure to come early especially if you have a bigger group. It's also BYOB and you can bring whatever beverages you want! I usually get take out and have never had to wait longer than 25 minutes to pick up my food.

Jasmina S.

Yelp
love pho. great service wonderful food. loyal customer for years. only pho we'll go to.

Emily W.

Yelp
We were visiting Burlington from out of town in early February and were craving some hot soup on a very cold evening. We came relatively close to opening time and were seated very promptly. Within 10 minutes after we got our table the place was packed! Definitely try and get here early. The hot tea was plus (I wish I asked what kind of tea it was, slightly sweet and earthy). Pho was excellent (couldn't wait long enough to take a picture), and Vietnamese crispy pancake was delicious! Not oily at all and packed with ingredients. Would highly recommend this place for anyone who comes in the area
