This place was surprisingly fun. I chose this place based on reviews, how long they have been in business, and proximity to Airbnb. We walked in and were immediately seated. They moved some prepared food from our table to the next so we could be seated. A split second later, we turn to find waters and menus on our table. The place was full, staff were cutting limes in front of us at a back table, other staff were executing their roles in a very timely manner. It was like they were in sync with each other. It was organized chaos and it was entertaining to observe. They brought out a hot pot of tea. The large is much bigger than the small bowl of pho. It was very good! Lots of tasty meat. We didnt feel rushed but it did get loud as it got busier. I wanted a Taro milk tea but they were out. I appreciated that they explained how their tea is made and gave me a recommendation to a different restaurant to get my Taro. Their recommendation was good! We are just visiting, otherwise this would probably be a go to for us.

Tried their phở for the first time and I’m hooked! The broth is rich and clean, the meats are tender, and the noodles are the perfect amount. I loved how piping hot the bowl arrived. The kids enjoyed the brisket while I went for the tendon. The egg rolls are huge, crispy, and wrapped in rice paper with a crunchy cabbage filling. The prawns are big and perfectly cooked. I also grabbed a rice plate to go—shrimp paste in tofu, grilled shrimp, and pork were all delicious. Friendly staff and a packed weekend crowd seal the deal. Complimentary hot tea is a plus!! I’ll definitely be back!

It has been awhile since I've been back here. Not much has change, as the food still comes out piping hot and fairly quick. Its a place to get some good quality pho. I like that you can be in and out of here in less than 30 minutes if you wanted to.

We are from out of state and immediately when you walk up you can smell a delicious broth aroma. Compared to our favorite place in Arizona they give more meat. Which we loved. We did run out of noodles but they brought us another bowl no extra charge. That made the whole experience that much better. The staff was nice and friendly. Prices were fair for the big bowls. All in all if we come back to Oregon this is definitely a place we need to stop. Great Pho!

Pho Hung is one of my top favorite restaurant's in Portland. The Vietnamese pancake (called something else) is everything an American pancake is not. Hearty and delicious with fresh greens, so good! Be sure to get the Vietnamese Drip ice coffee.

Best pho in Portland that my roommates and I have found so far. Super quick service and today the sun was coming in at a sharp angle and one of the servers (didn’t catch his name) came and closed the blind for us. So kind! Unbeatable service and delicious food. My usual is the #17, my roomies like #1 and #51.

Very friendly service. The lady asked us if we needed a highchair for our kids, and we said no, but she didn't just stop there and asked us if we wanted a booster seat. That was very helpful. The Super Bowl was fenomenal. I love it very spicy. Lately at other places I haven't felt much of heat in pho. This one got me breaking sweat. That's what I'm after and I got that satisfaction here. The bowl came with plenty of meat that was perfectly cooked. Vegetables were fresh. The servers kept checking up on us but weren't doing it in the intrusive way. Professional and respective. This place is definitely worth a visit and to come back to again

I have been chasing the pho that I tried first for years and have always been let down, but this one hits the mark. This tastes like my favorite food of all time and I am stoked to have it near me. The broth is great and has some warming spice flavors that most broths don't and I really love. One of my top places in PDX for sure.

I had disappointing Pho somewhere else yesterday and had to come to Pho Hung to get great Pho. I could really taste the amazing difference with the Grassfed Beef Pho here. Grass fed beef bones used to make the best broth in Portland with Grassfed Beef toppings of course. For health conscious Portlanders, why go anywhere else! This Pho Hung location is highly recommended by my Vietnamese dentist and my Japanese chiropractor, both who are Asian foodies. This evening, 3 different staff members checked in with me, to make sure I had ordered. The ambiance is filled with laughter from other large groups of customers. The background music is quiet enough that people can have conversations. Clean and simple, regulars feel comfortable. Two parking lots are easy to access from Powell. Wheelchair access is easy. Open daily except Thursdays. Come check it out!

growing up near little saigon in california, my boyfriend and i always hit up the vietnamese spots every where we travel (if they have it lol). we've met a lot of disappointment and confusion but this place did not disappoint!!! pho hung is probably the best viet place we have tried outside of socal and that's saying something from two kids born and raised on viet food. my boyfriend also LOVES pho and eats it every week so i don't doubt his abilities to judge a good pho. and he said this one was phenomenal for a restaurant, just like back home!!! he got the pho tai nam gau and said they gave a lot of meat. their broth was flavorful and not too oily and the noodles were perfectly cooked. meanwhile i got the com suon tom nuong tau hu ky and the rice was good, not broken like they serve it at other places but im not picky about the rice. the suon (pork chop) & tom (shrimp) were a little on the dry side (probably because the meat is so thin) but the marinade they used made up for it! it was honestly really solid suon & tom but the real star of the show was their TAU HU KY (fried bean curd with shrimp paste filling)!!!! an absolute must get. they hype it up on the menu and on yelp and i understand why. this is my favorite meat option to get with my com/bun and i love to try it at new places and pho hung's was one of the best i've ever had. it was so perfectly crispy without being too oily or hard/chewy and the shrimp paste filling was soft yet firm and tasted delicious. i was highly debating getting an order of just that to go but i had no air fryer to heat it up lol. i also liked that this place gives you tea to drink, just like at dim sum places. lastly, all of the serves are ok there (typical asian establishments) EXCEPT THIS ONE GUY WHO SEEMS SO GENUINELY EXCITED TO WORK AND LOVES HIS JOB. he was so welcoming when we came in and made sure we had everything we needed and treated everyone with that same energy. if the whole restaurant was just full of him as a server it would be the perfect place. overall definitely would return here if im ever in portland

Kinda millennial grey viet place (lol) with super quick and attentive service! I ordered the bho ko with French bread and it slaaapped. Bread was perfectly toasted, crunchy on the inside and sooooo fluffy and soft on the inside. You know the bread is crisped when you have cuts on the top of your mouth by the time you're done LOL. The soup was flavorful, and they give a super large chunk of meat. I would take a bite of the beef, put the piece down, drink some soup, go to pick up the beef again, but I'd always end up picking up a new piece of beef lol. I just wish they gave some more of the other toppings. Only one carrot?? I love stew carrots All in all, super solid place. Not a lot of places serve bho ko either, so I really enjoyed that

Got take out and the pho was so tasty I did a happy dance. Any food that makes my body groove in deliciousness gets 5 stars. Fresh tasty broth, quality meat, crisp sprouts and basil with a large slice of lime.

Went thier on a Monday night i checked google and yelp they both say they close at 9 I get thier at 830 some guy meets me at the door says we're closed also very rude si I told him what ttime it says online they close I say let me see the business hours on your window he says 830. I look of course it says 9 so I say you should atleaatleast change your sighn or no your business hours. Of course he probably didn't understand me. I will never come here again. I can't say enough good things about pho hung, they're the original pho restaurant in Portland. They been opened since 1990 and I'm sure every Asian kid who has grew up in Portland knows this is a staple/OG. We love coming here on rainy days and so glad they were open this Christmas Day! The pho comes out piping hot and QUICK! Everything is so fresh and once you take that first sip it hits the soul. They definitely don't skimp on the meat like other pho restaurants do and the prices are very reasonable. If your adventurous, try the Super Bowl it's a little bit of everything and if your like my husband you can't go wrong with pho tai. Happy pho eating y'all!

I visited Pho Hung for dinner. I liked the restaurant. It had a great set up and its own parking lot which is a plus. Hot tea was given at the table which was great. I wasn't hungry enough for pho so I didn't get pho. I will be updating my review when I do. :) I got a vermicelli bowl with pork and spring rolls. The pork was delicious, noodles were good, the carrot and daikon were pickled which was good, and the portion was large. The spring rolls were crispy and puffy. They were delicious. The service was good as well. Overall, I enjoyed my experience here and definitely don't come here for some great food.

Ordered Uber Eats delivery for Mother's Day lunch at home! We had two vermicelli bowls that were fresh and delicious!

I came here around 7:30pm and it wasn't super packed. We were seated right away and given a pot of tea. The tea is unsweetened tea, not sure which type of tea since they didn't specify but after adding sugar to it, it was great! The weather was raining and cold so having the tea really helped. The pho came out within 7 mins and it was super hot. For taste, I say it was ok. The flavor is there but not quite dominant. For the price, it is expensive for pho. For the amount you get, I wish there was more meat. Overall, it wasn't terrible. If I could give 3.5 stars, I would.

Probably one of if not my favorite spot to quench my thirst for a great bowl of PHO!!! Super Bowl is my go to option plus the number 40 fried tofu skin!!! Service is quick and prompt with all the goodies table side and did I mention parking!!!

Our second time here. Our food was so delicious again! The portions are generous and nicely presented! You can feel the love while you savor their creations! The service was very friendly and efficient. You can feel the staffs warmth, grateful and positive energy from the moment you enter till the time you leave. The restaurant is clean with nicely organized seating. This is definitely one of our favorite Vietnamese restaurant. I think my dish was the #43...grilled chicken, pork and crunchy spring rolls and lots of veggies on rice noodles.. sooo good. My hubby had the #6 pho.. that too was yummy! I took a photo of my dish.. was busy enjoying it after and forgot to take a photo of hubby's pho.

The place was pretty packed when we came by on a Wednesday! Despite it being packed, we were able to be promptly seated. The menu has your usual Vietnamese favorites and I opted for the pho gan gan sach (#2) and my partner ordered the com gal bi cha thit nuon and we had the egg rolls to start. We were also served complimentary hot tea! The pho was good and the rice plate was delicious, but the meat portions were bit skimpy for the price. The egg rolls were delicious! The place was clean and there's ample space for large parties. There's also a parking lot for customers.

Pho Hung is one of the oldest Vietnamese restaurants in Portland, and they are truly tried and true. They are a clean establishment, no frills or thrills, and their food speaks for itself. They offer various pho combinations, rice plates, vermicelli bowls, appetizers, and even kid's meals! I got their grilled pork vermicelli bowl and it was a generous portion. Loaded with pickled vegetables, lettuce, bean sprouts, and grilled pork, it was flavorful and refreshing. Service was also prompt and fast; we got our meals less than 10 minutes after ordering. They do get busy on the weekends, but this place is not to be overlooked for authentic Vietnamese food!

Pho heals, and this place is a hospital! So delicious. The service is fast and friendly, the atmosphere is perfectly energetic with lots of groups coming and going, and the food is top notch. This is my favorite place for pho in the PNW!

It was a damn good place to grab a bowl of hot Pho. it was made just right it was filling and the people that work here at fantastic. I recommended highly. This is one place on Powell Boulevard that's not a bad place to go. Overall Portland sucks but if you gotta go here on business like I do then try to eat in good places.

Was looking for something hot and soupy to warm me up before heading to the airport. Although we've driven by on many occasions...we've never stopped. Saw the positive reviews and decided it was time to check this place out. We ordered the Fried Spring Rolls, #1 combo - everything but the kitchen sink and # 10 - rare beef and fatty brisket pho The spring rolls were a little greasy, but tasty. However, expensive for 2 rolls of average size. At $4 per roll, not sure I would order this item again. The beef broth was flavorful...but hubby commented the portion of meat does not justify the price they charge. I guess we are use to the prices in LA. The price we paid for our small bowls is what we would normally pay for large bowls in LA. The one item that impressed me was they blanched the bean sprouts before serving. My one complaint has always been that the broth is never hot enough to cook the bean sprouts. Nice addition. Overall, I will probably return for their pho....not sure I would order the fried spring rolls rolls again.

I like the pho here but $19.50 for chicken pho? That's not competitive with other phos in SE.

I had the chicken thigh. It was so good. I forgot to take a picture of it. They're very accommodating with special needs. There was lots of people here indicating it's great food and service will definitely be coming back here again friendly staff good food. What more can you ask for in Vietnamese cuisine?

10/10 Vietnamese spot. They're packed from when they opened but their service is fast and they get people in and out quickly. All their food was soso good. The Super Bowl was full of refreshing herbs, comforting broth, and a wide variety of meat. This one is perfect for meat locers out there. If not, they also got plenty of other variations of pho, as you can expect from Vietnamese spots. Their Grilled Chicken Vermecilli Bowl may have been the best that I've had. I'm usually not big on this item but theirs was very flavorful and generous in the amount of greens, peanuts, and chicken that they gave. I also found their noodles to be very tender. Great sauce as well. The Banh Xeo was our favorite out of the three items. Crispy, through and through. Again, no holding back on the accompanying herbs and greens. Nothing to complain here. What a perfect spot for the cold winter.

There are two pho hung locations in Portland, and I gotta say this location is the one I love. I always get the pho with steak and flank and it never disappoints! It's a great meal to have when sick and great for fighting the cold weather. The service workers are nice, and the restaurant does have a parking lot, which is super nice as most downtown spots require street parking or an parking garage. It's a cozy restaurant and I can't believe I don't have any photos of these place despite my many trips here!

The OG Pho of PDX. Fast, hot, efficient and delicious. Service is always friendly and quick. Prices have risen due to inflation... understandable. Flavors awesome. Smaller meat portions and skimpier lime are the only reason for one star deduction. Otherwise solid winning Pho. Go!

We all love our phos here! Lots of noodles and meats in the bowls. All tasty! Can get busy on a weekday. We also love the red bean smoothie drink. Service was quick. It is a casual restaurant; nothing fancy. My mom wanted pho so we all came here (party of 8) and they were able to seat all of us without any wait.

An all time favorite pho place, I grew up going to the various locations around Portland, and Pho Hung in my opinion has the best pho in the city of Portland! I always get the #37 when I come, it is just too good! And then I ask one of my family members or friends for a tea cup full of their soup broth because it is too good too! Overall I can't say enough positive things about Pho Hung. Great value, great service, always clean, and fast.

Ordered ahead for a 4:40 pick up. App said it would be ready between 4:40-5pm okay no problem- until I show up at 4:30 & the food is already packed and ready to go... How long was it sitting there? The place wasn't busy, it was a Wednesday. It was okay not the best I've ever had. Zero stars for customer service. Customers make your business we are not an inconvenience. I interrupted apparently because I came to pick up my food. It was the coldest interaction I've had in a restaurant setting in a really long time. All of that together, I will not revisit. There are a lot of pho places to choose from. Yeah they have a parking lot....

Very yummy. Service is fast. They are very nice. Would have given it 5 stars if the atmosphere was a little better. But it's not bad at all. I will keep coming back that's for sure.

Pretty solid pho place. Feels very hole in the wall and those are where you will always find great food. Was not busy on a Friday night around 6pm. Though it did get busier by the time my friend and I left. Pho is a bit pricier than I thought and was not as much food. But that makes up in quality and flavor. They have enough variety for whatever types of meat you want in it. Enjoy!

This is hands down my favorite Pho of all time. I ate here all the time. Large Super Bowl, avocado shake. The lemongrass chicken, beef stew, spring rolls. This is where I learned to LOVE beef tendon in pho, they cook it perfectly. The staff are always kind and gracious, felt like I was eating at a friend's house. I wouldn't go to Portland without eating here.

Still an awesome Pho place even after so many years. This Pho Hung started in 1990 and has a strong legacy of good quality and customer service. You'll want to order the Pho Special (Dac Biet), or the Vermicelli bowl if you want something extra cool. Spring rolls are delicious and generous. The three color drink still blows the roof off. They have a lot of cool merchandise you can buy now for those visiting Portland. As always, it was a pleasure Pho Hung!

Mediocre everything: biggest dissatisfaction...salad rolls. Rice paper was like chewing through rubber, wrap ingredients not seasoned at all.

STILL. EFFING. PERFECT. Pho Hung forever! She's more gorgeous than ever. I've gone to this location and the 82nd location at least 5 times since things reopened and I've never been happier. 10/10 would recommend to cure your depression after this long year and a half. Bathroom was spotless and wonderful. For all those legacy eaters who were worried.

Love this place! Ordered from here a few times over the summer to get their #42. This cold noodle dish was so delicious and refreshing. With the flavorful chicken, fresh veggies, and crispy spring rolls, I was ordering this on a weekly basis! They also have really friendly customer service, would highly recommend this establishment.

The service is excellent as well as the food. Both could enhance your dinner experience in this magical place. Workers never stopped smiling back to you. I even had an urge to smoke cigarette after lunch one time and I didn't have a lighter. The host let me borrow the kitchen lighter that their cook use. I have nothing to say but Wow for this restaurant.

7/10 food, the spring rolls and peanut sauce were pretty lack luster. the pho broth and chicken portions were perfect. 3/10 ambiance and environment, very loud and bright. fast service and all food came out at the same time. pretty good local place, would probably do take out if i were to come again

Absolutely the best pho I have ever tasted. Everything is perfect, from the beautifulily spiced broth to the super tasty meats. My family loves this place and the people who manage and staff it. No better pho anywhere in Portland!

My go to spot for PHO!!!! It has consistently made me happy every time I've eaten at this spot.

I got a Tai, it was delicious. However, I got a Thai tea with bubba which wasn't good,it was flavorless. The service was fast and they also have a big parking lot.

Always the best food. I can't recommend based on authenticity but I would like to believe this is the closest. Always never fail me on a large bowl of pho and Chinese bread.

Bring Vietnamese, I am a pretty picky pho consumer. However, pho hung has definitely reached up to my standards and fulfilled my pho cravings when it comes often. Place is family owned and staff is polite. Enjoy coming here often!

Another day another bowl of delicious bowl of pho! This week's phoventure takes us out to the mystical Asian quarters of Portland! After some extensive research online (reddit post conveying the best pho spots in PDX) we decided to hit up Pho Hung based on their super awesome reviews! Even some from LA locals who swore this place compared to the amaaaaazing broths down South! Right off the bat Pho Hung gets +1 star for having their own parking lot! Parking is hard in some parts of town so a private lot is greatly appreciated! Wait on a drizzly Friday afternoon was only about 10 minutes (which was another huge plus because I was HUNGRYYY) They bring hot tea and iced water almost immediately and drop off menus. But being the seasoned foodies that we are, we knew what we were ordering 9 days ago. LOL jk. Kind of. What we got: Pho Dac Biet - 7/10 The broth here is really good! Honestly, the best pho broth we've tried up here so far. Portions are a tad small for the price but the flavor more than makes up for quantity. I asked for cooked beansprouts on the side but got beansprouts that were lightly dipped in hot water so that a couple pieces were almost warm to the touch but ultimately was just a plate of cold raw beansprouts. Meat to noodles ratio was pretty great, basically a piece of meat with every bite of noodles. Meat quality was okay for the most part. Brisket was a bit weird, there wasn't any fatty brisket (my fav cut of pho meat!) just shredded pieces of brisket which I've never seen before. Tendons were also a bit too soft for my liking. The actual bowls could be better; a good pho bowl will keep the broth hot for the entirety of your meal. This bowl started cooling down within a few minutes. Also, where are the sauce dishes?! Ended up adding sriracha and hoisin to a soup spoon to dip my meat because there were no sauce dishes anywhere. Bun Cha Gio Thit Nuong - 7/10 I feel like this is a really hard dish to mess up. Vietnamese noodle salads have got to be one of the best things in the world and this one was pretty darn tasty! Pork had really good flavor, fish sauce was on point, crushed peanuts added some reaaaally good texture. The only thing that sucked were the egg rolls. Why were they veggie egg rolls? That was weird. I've never had a restaurant serve vegetarian egg rolls in bun unless I ordered a vegetarian bun. Also, these weren't traditional veggie Viet egg rolls. It was just the Chinese cabbage from Chinese egg rolls rolled into rice paper and fried to look like a Viet egg roll. Where were the noodles, taro, carrots, and wood ear mushrooms? Cafe Sua Da - 10/10 This was definitely THE BEST Viet coffee I've tried up here! Flavor was spot on and the creaminess was out of this world. Definitely authentic! Overall, I'd give Pho Hung an 8/10. Pho was good, Bun was good (minus that veggie egg roll), coffee was DELISH! And parking was 100! Definitely a must try if you haven't tried yet!
