The calamari is fantastic! I dont know how they get it that crispy! The vermicelli bowl is the best I ever had. I only had it amazing one time In my life and have been desiring that taste again. Finally, I found it, and that makes this such a hidden gem. The pho was amazing too. I didn't get a chance to take the photos because I was to busy eating it fast because it was so good!

Google
The food was fresh and soooooo tasty. We got the egg rolls and grilled chicken Pho. Definitely will be back

Google
Food was great tasted really good and you get a big bowl, really fills you up. We had the beef Pho-Tai. The service was quick and the lady was very nice. Will definitely go back.

Google
Amazing pho! My go to spot. Also the summer rolls are super good..I come here like every week or more. Highly recommend this place

Google
Wow, didn’t think it was going to be this good. We ordered Pork Banmi sandwich which was fantastic, and family Pho Tai, soup was so tasty I loved it. My brother said that the mango smoothie was the best he’s ever had.

Google
Best Vietnamese restaurant I’ve had in South Florida! The egg rolls are a must! The pho was delicious. Everything was so fresh. Wonderful family owned & operated restaurant. You’ll love it!

Google
The smell inside was turning off but food is delicious. Noodles didn’t have taste but beef was delicious

Google
It was my first time here. I had just 25 min to have my lunch. I ordered a rare flap soup. They brought it really fast and the soup was great. When I asked for the check I realized the price was different than the menu. In my opinion the price is a little higher than other restaurants. I paid $20.66 just for the soup

Yelp
Love this place! This was my second time here, needed something healthy and delicious! This family run spot is a gem! Looking forward to going back soon! Thank you.

Yelp
The food is amazing. Really good Vietnamese restaurant I have ever been or ordered. They have a description of what goes inside of each meal. So it is pretty easy to know it. They also offer a place for you to write any special or additional information. Service was good. Ambiance was nice. It is located in a place where is plenty of spots available around the restaurant in the parking lot. In front of the restaurant is only few spots, but is very easy to find a parking spot for anyone.

Yelp
We've been coming here for 5 years, we've even brought friends/family with us. It was previously called pho lavie and it was turned into Pho Ocean. The broth is soo good! Compared to many places we've had pho at, the quality of the broth is greatest here. Bowl sizes are quite large & we typically also get their spring rolls, papaya salad & Thai teas. The restaurant is family owned & the service is good - there's no rush at all.

Yelp
Another great lunch at Pho Ocean . I ate many pho's and Pho Ocean is by far the best. Real mom and pop atmosphere and the restaurant is always very clean . The owners are very friendly and make you feel welcome. I visit the place for many years and was never disappointed. Thank you .

Yelp
My original review was for Pho Lavie, but it has since changed name to Pho Ocean. Not much has changed for the better since the owner's kids took over. The prices went way up and the quality went down. The atmosphere is awkward at best.
google avatar

Lindsay Y.

Yelp
My experience at Pho Lavie was subpar. Our server was rude and slurping up her soup at the table next to ours while we and other tables waited to order. My soup was beyond greasy and the egg rolls were chewy and stale. Thr only redeeming quality were the veggies in my soup were crisp and fresh.

Angie T.

Yelp
Vietnamese Crepes were incredible! Also had amazing Pho. Highly recommend, can't wait to go back!

Yelp
I've been coming here for about 7 months religiously now, the PHO is fantastic !! SUPER CLEAN !! Veggies always fresh. Service AMAZING. I love that it's family owned & everyone helps each-other out. The wife just had a baby in august and is back at Work literally in September... truly remarkable! The husband who wears a black hat all the time is really nice as well, I added chili oil to my pho one day and nearly died at every slurp I took and he educated me that it's best to sip it or else... it'll burn
google avatar

Wade B.

Yelp
Place not bad, food ok, but main problem it's extremely expensive, minimum check $25 for any plate, but if you want try something interesting it's $40 per person, but it's not restaurant style, it's cheap quality food, for sure not come back. DON'T see MENU PICTURES, price higher for 30-50% in real

Joanne D.

Yelp
Really great pho- they will also do it your way - I'm a little particular and love vegetables so I get steamed vegetables to add to my pho - they are so accommodating. The broth is amazing.
google avatar

Yelp
Great service and the food was fresh and tasty. Big servings. The Chicken pad tai was flavorful. And the chicken Pho was delicious too with the fresh condiments on the side.
google avatar

Yelp
Not always easy to find vegan food. We lucked out with this restaurant. They offered at least 10 vegetarian entrees and all but 1 was also vegan. Portions were generous and extremely. Flavorful. There are about 10 tables. The owners are a husband and wife team. Vi (the husband) does the cooking and his wife Quyen served us. If you are in the Pompano Beach area definitely try them out.

Yelp
Stopped by here last night to enjoy some hot pho. The place was nice, very quiet place with low lights. There was only 1 server attending everyone but the food did come out fast. I ordered a number 17, grilled pork pho and my boyfriend ordered a number 12, beef mix pho. They were both delicious full of flavor. I will definitely recommend this place to have pho. I'm not sure about the rest of the menu so that's why I gave it 4 stars.

Yelp
It's been a year since updating my review here. Our family loves it. We eat here every Monday without fail. Sometimes I'll pick up some pho to go and it's great at home too. I think the most I've had in one week was 4x oops. They have great customer service and tasty fresh food. It never disappoints. They're consistent! And now we're at the point where we don't have to order anymore. We just have a seat and they already know what we want. We still venture out to try new Vietnamese places every so often but we always come back to Lavie. It's the tastiest in town
google avatar

Patrick W.

Yelp
We have been here twice this week, super fresh ingredients l. Friendly staff. Definitely a must try if you have not ever had Vietnamese style food. Family owned and run the husband makes every dish fresh to order. Fair affordability. We will be visiting here allot

Yelp
A friend of mine is Vietnamese and recommended this authentic family-owned Vietnamese restaurant. Off the beaten path, Pho Lavie is tucked away in the Bealls strip center on Sample Rd and Federal Hwy in Pompano. There's plenty of free parking. Staff at this family-owned restaurant is very friendly. They go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. We ate in the dining room. There were only 2 other tables, and they were spaced far away from us. We were seated immediately and given menus and water. Started with an order of Summer Rolls. 4 large shrimp in each roll with pork, lettuce, noodles, and a hint of mint rolled in rice paper. Served with homemade peanut sauce. Amazing way to start the meal! They were light and packed with flavor. Pho was delicious and the portions were huge! #19 Seafood Pho - was packed with shrimp, squid, scallops, rice noodles and vegetables. The broth was rich with flavor. #15 Pho Ga Nuong - Grilled Chicken Pho was fantastic. The aroma from the broth was delicious and it came packed with noodles and broccoli. A plate of grilled chicken accompanied the dish as well as a plate of fresh crisp bean sprouts, basil, cilantro and lime. Hot chili oil is also on the table to give it a little bite. Large menu with lots of other dishes to try and a nice vegetarian selection. Delicious food...I will be back.

Yelp
Really is the best viet food in Fort Lauderdale. Fair prices. Delicious food. Exactly what we were hoping for when we vacationed in Fort Lauderdale. We came in around 3pm and it was empty so we were seated immediately. We placed our order and it came out so fast like in 5-7 minutes. So amazing. I miss it. We ordered pho tai, bun thit nuong, bo luc lac, and spring rolls. I also ordered a Vietnamese coffee ca phe su da. Yummy. Highly recommend the bo luc lac not many places I've been to put potato in it and I love potato so much so I was so happy to have that included. The beef is so tender and the flavor is amazing especially paired with the refreshing cucumber. We got fried rice instead of white rice for a small charge but it was so yummy. You can't go wrong with ordering anything overall so definitely stop by if you have the chance. Probably was the best place we ate in all of Fort Lauderdale in our little vacay. Most satisfied with that meal. We had no leftovers after.

Yelp
Modern and clean feel with attentive service. Enjoy the Vietnamese Crepe appetizer, all the Pho's and the noodle dishes. Beef rolls also taste great

Ricky G.

Yelp
Came here for a quick dinner and I absolutely loved it. I kept a very simple it just got the pho with chicken and a spring roll. Very tasty and settle my upset stomach in the process. The service was extremely friendly and very professional. I would definitely be back when I'm visitingtown.
google avatar

Yelp
Drove 20 minutes to try this place and it was closed. Open sign illuminated and hours open sign clearly says they're open on Thursdays. Nothing indicating the place is closed other than the locked door and no lights on inside.
google avatar

Katie L.

Yelp
Pho was OK. We were coming down from NC to visit and were craving for pho after a long day on the road. Service was good. Lots of take outs. The slicing of the meat could use some improvement. Too thick but my husband didn't mind. The woman who was manning the restaurant ran a tight ship. She took care of everything. Didn't miss a beat.
google avatar

Debra T.

Yelp
Sold out. New owners. This has been my go to Pho place for years. The service was awful. We ordered fresh rolls and pho and never received the fresh rolls. The broth of the pho has no taste. It literally tasted like water. The seafood pho had very little seafood at all and ... they raised the prices! How super disappointing! I'll drive an extra 10 miles now to find better pho.
google avatar

Kerry A.

Yelp
If there was something less than one star that's what the experience would reflect. Service here is atrocious. I've eaten here serval times because I love pho noodles. It's a husband and wife shop and the wife is generally the sever. When I tell you this woman does NOT like black people I MEAN IT!!!! I've seen her first hand be down right RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL, AWFUL! her attitude towards people of color is always on display. One time I came in and she totally avoided me. As opposed to addressing me she went and got the cleaning cart, cleared and cleaned at least 5 tables before even asking me if I wanted water, I'm positive she walked over and said "what do you want". To say I've tolerated this women waaay too long is an understatement! The pho is not good enough to stomach the disrespect. STAY AWAY!! You've been warned!

Yelp
Now this little Hidden Gem is a Hidden Gem. I took my friend who is a Vietnamese food virgin for lunch today and he really enjoyed it and of course I did too we had number 25 he had all shrimp I had shrimp and pork , the dish could have been hotter in temperature but still tasty at room temperature . and they're fried spring rolls are egg rolls or whatever, everything was good. everything is clean and neat when we walked in nobody was eating in the restaurant at the time then three tables filled up. the owner who is very nice wearing a mask seem to be doing everything, cleaning the tables, waiting on the tables, taking the cash, he's a nice man and a hard worker. it's a great little restaurant in the shopping center on Federal Highway where where Bealls is Angel Nails and a cross from the Dunkin Donuts and Duffy's as well.
google avatar

Kylie G.

Yelp
We got the family sized pho with chicken and meatballs. It only comes with one meat choice and we were unaware so make sure you know they'll charge extra for any additional meats; $6 extra for meatballs. This place is super good and authentic because the lady who takes your order hardly speaks English so you already know you're about to get some good Vietnamese food. One of the best around this area. Will definitely be back
google avatar

Hui F.

Yelp
Not sure what kind of Vietnamese food------no pickles/ onion slices/Asia cilantro in the Vietnamese sandwich. And the clay pot is just a stir fry first, then transferred to the pot for a bit crispy rice. You are ruining the so-called Vietnamese food! Didn't try pho, maybe it's good? But will not give a chance!
google avatar

Matt V.

Yelp
There are 2 slices of green pepper and 1 slice of cucumber and an inordinate amount of tofu. Really disappointed with the order 1- the price on the menu is not the price I was charged, but as I was on my way back to work I wasn't going to haggle for 1 or 2 dollars 2- I open the wrapping to eat my sandwich and it's not at all what I expected. The lady who made it could not get ready of me quickly enough and now I know why. 3- I called the restaurant and the owner who's wife made the sandwich told me to F*#k Off, and better luck next time!!! What a joke!

Suzanne S.

Yelp
Had a great experience today at Pho Ocean. Happy Pancake on the Appetizer crepe was really good, fresh and crisy. Eggrolls yum . I had a seafood dish in a noodle nest and my husband had chicken, pineapple and rice both were so good. Lots of great flavor. I also had the coffee with condensed milk, only complaint was too small would have liked more !!!
google avatar

Kalvin K.

Yelp
A no frills pho spot. I was a little bit annoyed upon entering the restaurant, no one greeted me and the owner was sitting having lunch and blasting her news program on the iPad. Not the most professional way of conducting business in my opinion. I ordered the spring rolls and combination pho - I couldn't believe the it was $25 before tip?!? Absurd pricing for an obviously refrigerated (super cold) spring roll. The broth of the pho dac biet was tepid and uninspiring. Will not return.

Sofia D.

Yelp
came on a whim and there was very yummy food, great service and generous portions :))
google avatar

jacqueline q.

Yelp
The soup was really good and tasty. Will be ordering again and try a different flavor . I had the beef combination. Was surprised by the selection.

Roxanne W.

Yelp
Food is fresh and so good Service is attentive Ambiance is nice and clean Second time coming definitely will be coming back
google avatar

Roksar R.

Yelp
It's hidden in a plaza in then middle of random stores but this is a great pho spot. The pho ga was delicious! The grilled beef rolls were also a hit. If you don't want pho, I also recommend the pad Thai chicken which isn't pictured. Doesn't taste like traditional pad Thai but it's very good!
google avatar

Char B.

Yelp
It was my first time trying this restaurant. The set up is very nice and the establishment is clean. I only ordered the pho with meatballs, so the service was quick. However I did not taste much flavor in the broth when I had it , before adding everything else. They also did not have mint for the pho for some reason, it may have been just this day they did not have it. The noodles were good along with the beef.
google avatar

Andrea R.

Yelp
So good came in last night and inhaled the entire bowl of brisket pho love this place
google avatar

Milt E.

Yelp
The rating is for the overall impression except for the food. We sat down and ended up leaving- $18 for a chicken pho is absolutely out of the question for me, especially given the down-market ambiance of glaring lights and no music and just shouting a foreign tongue in the background. I hope this place gets it together because I'd definitely appreciate a good Vietnamese restaurant around here!
google avatar

Alizae L.

Yelp
So glad I found this spot! Yummy broth and good sized portions. The only thing that lacked was service. 3 people received their checks before me and I was there first. Fairly priced. Based on the food and location I will be back. I just wish they payed more attention to waiting their tables.
google avatar

Lecel L.

Yelp
I like the food. Two issues we had was our waiter forgot our Thai tea and there wasn't a scallop inside the seafood pho.
google avatar

Stephen S.

Yelp
Banh Mi Thit Nuong (Grilled Pork) I'm a fan of this selection. So good! I'll be back again. Nice size sandwich. I will get 2 next time because they are that good. My new favorite. The Papaya salad and beef ribs were big winners. Very good. The Papaya Salad was prepared with fresh ingredients. The beef rib meat was very tender and easy to chew. Cooked just perfect. I did a takeout order and had a beer while I waited for my order. In and out quickly. My first time here. Food was delicious. Definitely my new place for takeout. I cant wait to have that Banh Mi Thit Nuong (Grilled Pork) again. It was very good! I should have taken a picture.
google avatar

Marc L.

Yelp
We were on our way to Pho Lavie and realized they had changed to Pho Ocean. We were waiting for a bit after being seated, but then the kids (cavalry) arrived, and there was a lot more help with the service. There is a big difference from how it used to be when we would have to wait forever for service. The food is still good and we had a variety of appetizers, Pho and entrees which were all delicious and everyone enjoyed them. Thank goodness they still have the shrimp chips since that's my son's favourite thing there :-)
google avatar

Paul M.

Yelp
Good food .... crappy service. The place is overall presentable. My wife and I order pho... and a crepe appetizer. The appetizer was actually quite big and crunchy. Now the only down fall is the service. Let just say that it is rude to not seat your customers because you are on the phone. Also.... get off the phone while serving the food!!!!!
google avatar

Sherri B.

Yelp
We enjoy the food and it's close to home BUT the service experience is rude and makes you feel like you're asking for something that's impossible to achieve, such as more water.... They've lost our business!

Kim A.

Yelp
I've been going here since 2019 and I use to love this place when they had servers. It's now serviced by the husband and wife. The Husband is very nice will speak but the wife is generally the sever. This woman does NOT like black people. she is RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL, AWFUL! her attitude towards black people is very obvious...(just watch and listen) I would come during lunch and they both are usually eating themselves (which is not a problem) the husband would speak and tell you to sit anywhere. The wife will have you wait 10-15 min until she's done eating and would often clean all the dirty tables before taking my order. (Now I am often alone and order the same thing every time) I've watched and heard the way she speaks to black people as well as others when I say she doesn't like black people at all, I mean it! She is absolutely disgusted to have to serve us! I use to be a good tipper but, now it reflects her HORRIBLE service. To say I've tolerated this women waaay too long is an understatement! I stopped going for about 6months then went back with a friend to see if it was just me... but, in her true fashion she was still the worst restaurant owner/server I have ever seen in my entire life! (50+ years) And don't think it's just black people the only people she will smile and be totally respectful too is Asian people in general. Everyone else is just annoying her by eating in her establishment. STAY AWAY if you want to have way decent service...don't let the 5 stars fool you! Spend your MONEY at the crappiest McDonalds in stead! You'll get better service and a smile! Don't believe me? go eat but, watch.
google avatar

Ben N.

Yelp
I have found that during COVID to be frank, the restaurant food has been terrible. They are hemorrhaging money and as such have to decrease input costs and quality suffers. With this in mind we had low expectations that were far surpassed. We ordered garlic beef noodles x 2 and summer rolls and wow. So good. Take out food, really never travels well, and for this to be as good as it was "to-go" shows how delish it is.
google avatar

Sandi S.

Yelp
We had a delicious order of summer rolls and vegetable tofu pho soup ! Enjoyed every yummy and healthy bite and can't wait to come back to try other dishes! Restaurant is a little difficult to find behind Dublin Donuts on Federal Hwy but worth the trip! A true treasure! Clean and very pretty inside!
google avatar

Claire S.

Yelp
I stopped in here for an early dinner on a Sunday night because I was in the area. The restaurant itself is in a strip mall off Federal Hwy, so there ain't much of a "scene" if that's important to you. My husband and I split the Shaken Beef, which was tender and flavorful. I would highly recommend this dish! I had the vegetarian pho and he had the chicken pho. The broth in both was very tasty with just a slight hint of spice, and they each were served with lots of green onions. The side plate came with basil, bean sprouts, lemons, and sliced jalapeños, which are all nice additions. Service was slow, especially considering nobody was there. If you're looking for good Vietnamese food at a reasonable price, this is definitely worth checking out.
google avatar

Ann Robin H.

Yelp
I also would give a half stars, but as we all know ... The bowl was big filled with noodles greens and a small piece of plastic . I I did to her attention she didn't look happy She the asked me if I wanted a bowl to go . I told this unfriendly server No I'd like it for here. She didn't seem happy . This time it came with small piece of broccoli and fried onions which were not in The first bowl. Then with left over soup they give you the quart size plastic container to pour this big bowl f hot soup your self . Well after all this the soup is really good and the veggies on the Side we're fresh. But her mood made me uncomfortable . Tsk tsk . I will get back but hope she's not my sever again No free shrimp toast as the other places
google avatar

Sukalaya K.

Yelp
The pho here is super delicious. The dish comes with fresh veggies. The service is fast and friendly. Try the fried spring rolls! They are delicious. This is a go to place for me when I am hungry for pho!
