"Formally known as New Noodle Guy, Pho Orchid’s name might have changed recently - but its menu has not, and neither has the quality of its pho. Located in the corner of a large stripmall in Alhambra, this place has an intense lunch rush, but if you stick it out for a few minutes, they’ll usually be able to find a table for you. The order here is easy - the kobe beef pho. The beef alone deserves to be celebrated, and their rich, dark broth is the perfect match for it." - Brant Cox

"The Pho Orchid team runs two Metairie locations, including a speedy Express spot on Airline that’s a better option for fast food. A dine-in only combo offers pho with half a banh mi or 2 spring rolls and a drink for less than $12." - Clair Lorell, Eater Staff

Google
My favorite place for authentic Vietnamese food. Love their tofu appetizers, brisket pho and lemongrass chicken.

Google
Absolutely the best pho I’ve ever had! As a true pho junky, I’ve tried it everywhere, and this place blew me away. The broth was rich and flavorful, everything tasted so fresh. Service was fast, kind, and attentive. The restaurant was spotless and welcoming. I’ll definitely be back again (and again). Highly recommend!

Google
The most unpleasant thing a restaurant can do to its diners is take the check in the middle of the meal. Every time I have gone they take the check without asking the customer and it is unpleasant for me the right thing to do is to let people enjoy their food and ask if they are ready for their check. I also wish that the clear noodle could be changed because I honestly don't like it, I prefer the spicy beef soup noodle and the waiter told me they can't change it but I can order a side.

Google
Pho orchid is the kind of spot you come back to time and time again. The entire menu is filled with delicious food full of flavor for fair prices. Had the shaken beef vermicelli and it came with this refreshing lime sauce that sent the dish over the top. The pho is exactly what you need when you’re feeling sick. Spring rolls are refreshing and light. Thai tea was the perfect sweet treat and the boba had the perfect texture. Come here to heal your heart from the disappointment of most other food spots now. A family run spot that deserves every bit of the love it gets.

Google
The pho is excellent, broth is refreshing and warm. The beef steak were high quality; they weren’t thin and poor. They put a lot of tripe here and it was delicious. The egg rolls were really crunchy and crispy plus the sweet sauce is notable. The passion fruit tea tasted like motherland. The service was definitely great, the lady was attentive and was quick. Idk about the entrance at the front you have to be careful don’t to bump anyone walking through the curtain.

Google
Only gave atmosphere 4 due to we got to go and didn't get to see all of it but what we did see was beautiful. Food is amazing 👏 🤩. It's a must try. The wanton soup is the best I have ever tried and that's saying something. The staff took time to answer questions on the phone and we are so thankful for that.

Google
A fantastic experience, with a warm and welcoming environment. Both of the different pho broths, as well as the chicken fried rice and the table side grill were excellent. Highly recommend the lemonade as well for being fresh and not too sweet.

Google
Our food was delicious, cooked well and very flavorful. Food came out to the table timely. My kids first time trying Boba, they loved it. No kids menu, I was told we could get smaller portion of any dish, but they came out full size and charged as such. Really liked the atmosphere, felt like I was somewhere else for an hour.

Yelp
Private parking lot. Which is nice so the surrounding restaurants can't take up all the parking. Service is always good. Environment is always clean. Food is always good! I'm from out of town but I visit frequently since i have family there. When I'm craving pho I usually stop by here. I don't have any complaints. I really like the chicken wings!!

Yelp
We're back in New Orleans but of course our first stop is my favorite restaurant in Metarie we didn't have breakfast so I'm so excited to eat again my favorite PHo I would think something will change because of inflation but so happy to see nothing changed it's still the best pho and I still can't find anything comparable in NY . I enjoyed it and finished it in a short time thinking why can't they have a branch in NY ???? The fried spring roll was yummy as well as the fresh spring roll the shrimp in it was delicious and so fresh. I'm sad to think that it will be another year before I can come back to my favorite restaurant here in New Orleans but hoping that someday they will branch out to NY .

Brenda L.

Yelp
The brisket pho broth had a good taste to it. The meat left a little bit to be desired. It was a little tough. The spring rolls were pretty good, however I felt they were wrapped way too loose and the shrimp had a little bit of a offputting taste to it the service was very good. Love the ambience love the full bar. I would come back and try them again.

Jamie B.

Yelp
I have not dined here, but I came here to pick up my food to go. I love the curtain set up when you first walk in. It is like you are walking through your personal broadway show where Jamie B Eats, and the curtains open up for my grand entrance! Anyway, I kept hearing how amazing the won ton soup was so I ordered two containers of it. I got home and my goodness! There is so much stuff in there! It is like a stuffing won ton soup. Clearly the best won ton soup I have every had and such good flavor in the broth! Whenever I feel under the weather, I like to eat won ton soup becuase of all the herbs and the hot broth soothes my throat. And right now things are getting colder out, so it is the perfect time to order some, although I don't mind eating this soup wayyy more often than when its cold or when I am sick. This soup is legit! They have an express, smaller place on Airline too.

Elenora B.

Yelp
My favorite restaurant of all time! Every time I'm asked to review this place I always take the chance to because they always deserve the recognition. The staff is always so friendly and usually recognizes us because we go so often. I order the same thing every time - the grilled pork rice plate with an egg roll and an order of the grilled shrimp and pork spring rolls. No one seriously does Vietnamese food as good as Pho Orchid and it just never gets old. I can never say enough good things about this place because there's just too much to say! I will be back very soon of course!

Anthony N.

Yelp
You can take me out of Little Saigon but you can't take Little Saigon out of me. Hundreds of miles away from one of the best Vietnamese cuisines city that the country has to offer, so it's not surprising that I am craving for my comfort food in NOLA. Luckily there's a small community of Vietnamese people that caters to hungry patrons like myself, and for that, I deeply thank them for setting up shop here. We found this place on a Yelp with decent reviews. I was with my group of friends and we agreed to go for something besides Southern cuisine, so why not go to your typical pho restaurant to satisfy the Vietnamese fix. We came on a Sunday evening and there was plenty of tables availble for us to be seated. Each of us got something different to try so instead for a nice hot bowl of pho, I wanted a Vietnamese 2 course family meal: carmelized braised catfish and sweet and sour catfish. The food came out fairly quickly and I was happy to dig in as once it got plated out our table. The braised catfish had a nice charred flavor, sweet carmelized taste, and a umami from tone from fish sauce. The garnish of onions complimented the overall taste of the dish. The sweet and sour soup had a sweet essence tamarind. Combined with the fresh herbs, vegetables and pineapple created the right amount of sweet and savory in the dish. The catfish steaks in the soup absorbed all the flavors of the soup. The perfect harmony of ingredients piled in one entree. If you combined these two separate dishes together with a bowl of jasmine rice, then you would essentially have a traditional Vietnamese family meal. My overall experience here was good. Customer service wasn't anything extraordinary, the price was pretty pricey as well, but it did feel a little like back home in California. Regardless, I do like the fact that the restaurant just offers more than pho so it was a win in my book. Not the best Vietnamese food I've ever had but worth the try if you're looking for some good Vietnamese comfort food.

Yelp
[Pho Orchid] Vietnamese restaurant located in Metairie This is my favorite go to restaurant when I travel to / arrive from the airport. Their menu is crazy. The price is cheap, food is good, vibes are good, and the service is fast. 1. Bun Bo Hue 2. Orchid Pho 3. Spring roll with pork and shrimp 10/10 https://pho-orchid.getbento.com 3117 Houma Blvd Metairie, LA 70006

Yelp
Came here on a Friday night hoping to have some decent pho. It didn't happen, plus the service wasn't very happy so the attitude probably didn't help the ambiance. 3 large bowls of pho and the shaken beef were ordered (seafood and 2 steak/brisket). The noodles and such were fine, but the broth left so much to be desired. It was pretty bland, which is sad since the broth is really what makes or breaks a bowl of pho. The shaken beef was also not seasoned very well, and the portion size was shockingly small considering it was a $17 entree. Heard good things about this place, but maybe they've simply gone downhill. Would not come here again.

Jessica C.

Yelp
This local pho place is awesome! When we come to NOLA, we don't normally stay in Metairie but I am so glad we did this trip so that we were able to try Pho Orchid. I've never seen a grilled pork spring roll and this did not disappoint. The pork was grilled well and had a smoky flavor without being too salty. For pho, we got the Round Steak & Meatball, and the Brisket. The broth was not too sweet and not too salty, it was right in the middle. I was very hungry and got a large bowl and was filled without being overly stuffed. The staff was attentive and had a quick turnaround when bringing out the food. A solid pho spot, I would come here often if I was a local!

Priscilla R.

Yelp
In the past, it was pretty good lately the customer service or should I say the waitresses are not very attentive which is OK but it's gonna reflect on your tip that I leave behind. Tips are reflection of your customer service. Snatching plates before a customer leaves with attitude over something that has nothing to do with them doesn't help.

Yelp
When I came to Pho Orchid, I thought I wasn't at a Pho restaurant...I thought I was at a fancy restaurant! The decor looked so nice and cool with the dark blue lights. Our server was nice to us as well. My dad and I ordered a large "Pho Dac Biet," which is translated as the Pho Special ($12.25) and a large "Pho Do Bien," which is translated as the Seafood Pho ($11.25). For drinks, we just got one Hot Tea ($1.50) and one "Nuoc Tranh Day," which is translated as Passion Fruit Lemonade ($5.??). The Pho dishes tasted amazing. Broths were fresh and portions were reasonable. For the Seafood Pho, they actually had various seafood meats in the dish instead of only shrimp like other pho restaurants provide. The Passion Fruit Lemonade was also delicious. Even though I live all the way in Gretna, I'd definitely come back here if I'm craving pho!

Alina H.

Yelp
I came in here while servicing my car at a lical dealership. I ordered the vegetable pho and service was quick. The broth was spicy, served super hot and had a good variety of vegetables and condiments/herbs served alongside to garnish my soup. The noodles however were very soft and scare in comparison to the broth. The soup itself had a thick layer if oil along the top which made eating it quite difficult. Each spoon i took had a layer of grease I attempted to skim off until I gave up. I most likely will not be back but see how this place has the potential for great growth and food. Its a good location and possibly the other varieties of pho offered better flavor and preparation, as other patrons seemed to be regulars enjoying their food.

Amelia R.

Yelp
Great food great service and a great happy hour! Food is always delicious! This is my go to Pho place.

Lorena C.

Yelp
I love this place. It can be a little overwhelming to dine in so we get take out lately. The dining room is open but divided, relatively large & decorated. They get a very diverse crowd so it may be a party, business meeting and family with kids all in the same area or one side cozy and one side more chatty. The parking lot is small so you may need to park and walk that small block. The service is succinct but not friendly (if that makes sense). But the food is always fresh and good. There are lots of veggie and meat options, boba tea, grown up drinks--I mean something for everyone. My favorite is the seafood pho, though I've also had the veggie one and a couple of fried rice dishes. Reasonable prices. A win if you're ever in the area.

Estacia C.

Yelp
Great Food, Great ppl. Large variety of options all made fresh & taste authentic. The depth of flavor in broths comes from traditional ingredients, not a packet of soup base.

Gina H.

Yelp
Very pretty inside! We enjoyed it very much! Staff was friendly from the time we walked in! We ordered spring rolls. I enjoyed them, but they were the ones with rice paper, so my husband wasn't a huge fan, but they were good! He had the sizzling beef, which was yummy! I had the combo (beef, chicken and shrimp) over fried vermicelli! It was so good! Looking forward to going back!

Nick M.

Yelp
Always a solid 5 stars! I have been coming here for lunch and dinner for years. Seriously, you can't go wrong with PHO Orchid!

T T.

Yelp
Was craving banh mi, banh mi thap cam here is not what you think. It's some chicken, one slice of cha lua and thit nuong. No butter, no pate, no soy sauce/Maggie, two slices of cucumber and a buttload of pickled carrots. Oh let's not forget about the old bread that was crumbling away with each bite. The bread was not smooth, it was full of dents. That's how you know they used old bread to heat up twoserve you. For a sandwich that's almost $10. Save your money. Go to Frosty's. I will not be coming back to Pho Orchid.

Brian C.

Yelp
We ordered takeout from Pho Orchid tonight and man was it good. My wife got the pork dumplings and orchid tacos which were fresh steamed buns filled with grilled pork, pickled carrots, cucumber, and cilantro. I had the banh mi, which is a Vietnamese poboy filled with the same ingredients as the orchid tacos, but inside french bread. So so good. I also got the Vietnamese egg rolls. I'm sorry China, but your egg rolls suck compared to the Vietnamese version. In addition, we got the shrimp fried rice. I prefer the pork fried rice over the shrimp fried rice, it has more flavor in my opinion. For a traditional street food treat, get the Vietnamese crepe. It is one of my go to favorites now.

Jessica J.

Yelp
Pho Orchid is my favorite Pho place to eat food is always fresh and delicious service is great and good vibes

Brandon P.

Yelp
I'd love to rate their food, but I attempted to order online at 7:23 pm and the web site says online ordering is closed. Tried to call, and there was no answer. The web site advertises their hours on being Sunday, 11:00 pm - 8:00 pm. But apparently, this is not the case. smh - not impressed

Cindy H.

Yelp
Ive been very disappointed lately. I like vegetarían Pho but when I ask for tofu (that's extra) they throw in chunks of uncooked tofu. Seriously- they don't brown it at all?! So there it is white chunks of cold tofu floating in your vegetarian Pho. Other places I've been to do brown it to a crispy outside before adding it to the broth and it's not an extra. Service is good. Ambiance is good.

Anthony T.

Yelp
Probably the only place, to my knowledge, that offers homestyle Vietnamese comfort food in Metairie rather than just your traditional pho and banh mi restaurants. They've been here for years which should tell you a lot about their food already. This is a good spot to try some vietnamese cuisine if you've never had anything else besides pho. Service is fast and attentive and they get your dishes out in a timely manner. Definitely check this place out if you want something asian other than chinese take out!

Jerry S.

Yelp
If you haven't been here before make sure you add it to your places to stop in for a delicious meal. The hot beef noodle soup was recommended to me so I figured I'd give it a try. If you like spicy this is the soup for you. It is wonderful. Just the right amount of heat. The broth is wonderful. Complex but really tasty. I'll be back again for this wonderful dish. Oh and by the way I typically don't give 5 stars but I thought this dish covered all my tasting categories.

Alfred C.

Yelp
Coming from Orange County, CA where AMAZING Vietnamese cuisine can be found in a heartbeat, I was a bit hesitant. I'm sure it would be good, but I've been spoiled regularly. After having my first several bites, I have to say: delicious!! The pho broth was legit and delish. The meat and chicken: tender. The tripe: fresh! The vermicelli: refreshing. The grilled pork-good. The spring rolls: good The cafe Sua da: flavorful and strong. Just what I needed before a trip to the airport. Thank you Pho Orchid. I am now a happy and full man.

Robert L.

Yelp
Great experience every time we go! Good is wonderful. Atmosphere rocks! Tremendous variety!

S.Kevin S.

Yelp
Very Good Pho. everything tasted great. veggies were fresh and crisp. service was great no complaints.

Kate R.

Yelp
This is my go-to place for pho. I get their eye round pho and their meat always tastes fresh and not chewy like some places. The service is great. I walk in all the time and get sat within minutes. Inside is very cute and dim lighting- a local date night spot for sure

Jim C.

Yelp
I was able to ignore the steady and unfortunate decline in Pho Orchid's ingredients and their now terrible service for the last few years simply because the location has been really convenient for us, but the cold and impersonal attitudes of most of the newer staff has made this place just awkward to dine at. It used to be a nice place to go for dinner, but now there is ALWAYS a chorus of screaming babies, people blasting music from their phones at each table, or I have to name off multiple meals before they actually have all the ingredients to make something. I had a "why am I still coming here??" epiphany after meeting the creepy owner, he actually made my skin crawl and I definitely don't want to give him any more of my money.

Dayana N.

Yelp
The food is great but the service is sometimes bad. I have been here multiple times and this has been the 3rd time they put pork in my rice after I requested NO PORK. The the server doesn't even apologize or find a solution. Instead she gets smart & tells me it's sausage. So I tell the server what kind of sausage is it? Because it is PORK SAUSAGE. Then she tells me your mom only said "no pork" & that my mom's English was not good. I told her it had nothing to do with my mom's English it had to do with her (the server) comprehension. I will not be gone my back due to their customer service.

Thomas T.

Yelp
When you need that Vietnamese Fix, Pho Orchid is right on time! Best part is they're open on Sundays. We always seem to get that itch on the weekends and Sunday Pho is hard to find. Dining in is also a pleasure. The music makes for a fun game of name that tune. 10/10 will be back!

Christopher D.

Yelp
The pho was spectacular. The ambiance was hip, cool, and sheik. The service was awesome. Restrooms clean with touchless paper towels

Arnesto S.

Yelp
Love this place. Been a minute since I have last eaten here. Great ambiance, fast service and oh so good Vietnamese cuisine.... Love the Orchid fried rice and the Vietnamese egg rolls. Don't forget the Thai tea with those slimy balls. Ever in Metairie, stop on by and support local eaters so we all do not starve...

Lennie W.

Yelp
Excellent service! I am allergic to MSG and my server directed me to the best foods for me on their menu. I ordered fried rice with vegetables and it was excellent! Thank you Pho Orchid!

Lindsey B.

Yelp
Omg I love pho orchid! They have the best pho! Along with delicious spring rolls! love their Rangoons! Im a huge Rangoon fan! I'll eat them anywhere I go. These are tasty! Their sandwiches/poboys are awesome! And of course you have to get the orchid tacos! Just get all the apps! You won't be upset!

judith b.

Yelp
I picked up my order of Eye the Round Steak and Brisket Pho. I really wanted some good Pho and this place serves a very mediocre pho. Some of the basil garnish was dead and the rest of the basil was mostly stem. The meager amount of rice noodles was sad. There was one small slice of lime, and a very small amount of mung sprouts. There are plenty of restaurants serving good pho. I thought I would try this one. I won't return. I expected more for $13.37 for one beef pho.

Prentice M.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious rare beef pho, shrimp, pork, spring rolls, are incredible, whether a quick pick up for lunch or dinner an absolute local favorite.

No A.

Yelp
I always order takeout and the staff there never look friendly. The food is decent but prices are getting expensive.

Mike C.

Yelp
Having long had its roots established in Metairie, Pho Orchid was our go to place for the longest, as it was one of our first Pho experiences after having moved back to New Orleans from having spent nearly a decade living in Los Angeles. Conveniently located on Houma Blvd. just off of Veterans Memorial Blvd., this location is very easy to get to and there is adequate parking as well. We were fortunate on our very first visit to have Matthew as our server. His was very personable and was friends with the owner, took his time to explain the menu, and checked on us frequently while we dined. The restaurant is pretty big, but a bamboo wall in the middle separates the dining room in two and lends it to feel a little smaller than it actually is. Some of our favorites are: 1. Spring roll w/ grilled pork: This is our favorite appetizer, as the pork comes out hot with just a little crisp to it. The peanut sauce is delish. 2. Spring rolls w/ shrimp: Served cold, these vermicelli rolls never fail to satisfy. 3. Grilled pork Bahn Mi: This Vietnamese style po-boy starts with a "French" bread that is crispy outside and oh so soft inside. The grilled pork is perfect and the accoutrements that "dress" it all add to the perfect sandwich. 4. The Pho: We have tried so many of the Pho's, but it all starts with the basic broth. The recipe here is top notch and has one of the best flavors I've eaten. I've eaten the white meat chicken, the round steak, the brisket the meatball, the soft tendon and even the trip (1 time). As a certified carnivore, I like the round steak and the brisket equally. 5. Clear noodle soup is a favorite of my wife's and her generosity always allows me to sample. The portions, even the small, are very generous and will leave you satiated. We have never had a bad experience here. However, with so many new Pho restaurants in the N.O. Metro area, we don't get here quite as often as we used to; only because we like trying new places. However, we always come "back home" from time to time.

Kimberly C.

Yelp
Highly recommended. Great food, great service, and very convenient. Close to the interstate going towards downtown from Baton Rouge. We went for dinner and the restaurant was packed. We were able to be seated right away. The service was excellent from the time we came in to the time we left. The food came out rather quickly. We forgot to take pictures due to our "hangry" status. We ordered the Pho, Banh Hoi Pork, and Bun Cha Gio thit Nuong. The Pho broth was very tasty and clear. We didn't really need to add much to the broth. The fish sauce was perfect in flavor for the other entrees (like mama's cooking). We will definitely return!

Wendy J.

Yelp
Love Pho Orchid! You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Some of my favorite things: the asparagus soup, the Vietnamese crepe, the orchid tacos, orchid fried rice, walnut shrimp, and iced coffee. The asparagus soup is so fluffy with bits of lump crabmeat in it. Their grilled pork is cooked and seasoned to perfection. The service is great and your food comes out quickly. Although their menu is pretty extensive compared to the other Vietnamese places in Metairie, I wished they had more Vietnamese dessert options like che ba mau. Otherwise, it one of my favorite restaurants in Metairie.

Mona M.

Yelp
Great food , to go order are always awesome Dine in is great, awesome service And they have my favorite tacos Fluffy white bread with good chicken and topping The fho Soup is amazing

Adela G.

Yelp
My favorite pho place delicious pho great springrolls try the chicken spring rolls instead of the pork (both good but the chicken spring roll ) tasty pork dumplings the rice plates are delicious as well this place never disappoints

Kevin R.

Yelp
Great oxtail pho in a clean restaurant & good service! Also, we have had the pork dumplings for an app...great also.

Sr. Mary Martha M.

Yelp
Wonderful cuisine, beautiful & peaceful atmosphere, all those who waited on us were quick and helpful.

Emerald C.

Yelp
Went for lunch with coworkers. Grant it they were busy, but they were adequately staffed. We all asked for water, none of us drink carbonated drinks and I can't drink tea due to the caffeine. The waitress rolled her eyes and gave us an attitude the rest of our stay. She didn't serve us. She sat out food down at the end of our table. She reached over my coworker to hand me a big, piping hot bowl of pho which could have been a bad decision if it slipped. We had to ask her several times for a "go box". She was rude. I ordered 2 soups to go and she only had 1 in the bag. I had to wait and was late getting back to work. Although I've never had anything bad there I gave a 1 for the terrible service.

Jennifer P.

Yelp
Delicious brisket Phó! Love the pork spring rolls as well. Everything is alway hot & fresh. Definitely recommend dining here.

Kylia H.

Yelp
We love the torpedo shrimp, pho ga, shrimp spring rolls, and fried rice. The boba drinks are awesome too!! We've been coming here for years!!

Susie M.

Yelp
Excellent fresh ingredients prepared for each order. Shrimp Spring rolls perfect. Avocado Spring rolls perfect. Pho chicken soup nutritious & delicious. We love the vegetable fried rice too. Very Generous portions. I brought to friends who weren't feeling well & they had enough for 2 days. Safe & easy parking a plus.

Liana B.

Yelp
Not only was the service incredible the food was amazing! This might be my new favorite restaurant and I cannot wait to go here again!
