18 Essential Pho Shops Around D.C. | Eater DC

"They don’t skimp on the servings here, so come with an empty stomach and don’t miss out on the rare ribeye and brisket pho. The meats are tender and the broth is supremely savory. An added bonus: the peanut sauce that accompanies the spring rolls is among the tastiest in the area. Open for takeout only." - Mekita Rivas

13 D.C. Restaurants Perfect for Spicy Food Lovers

"Pho Viet’s Spicy Lemongrass Pho is made with two kinds of chile and flavored with lemongrass, ginger, onion, and shrimp paste. Order it “quarter spicy” and you might still be sipping water between bites. Real chile heads get it “medium” or more." - Aparna Krishnamoorthy

Google
Their spicy lemongrass pho is my favorite I've tried in DC proper. It's flavorful (you can choose the spiciness level), and the portion is large. Sometimes it's hard to get a server's attention becuase it can get quite busy, but the pho is worth it.

Google
We ordered the Shrimp Noodle and Roll Platters which were good portions for 2 people. The food was delicious and their sauces were absolutely amazing. There was some confusion since we ordered one set of shrimp roll and one set of pork egg rolls but we got two sets of shrimp rolls instead. However, we did not mind it at all since the shrimp spring rolls were worth it. They are really simple yet refreshing and pairs well with the peanut dipping sauce. The Shrimp Noodle was fun digging into as well. From the deep friend onions to the pickled radish and carrot, all the ingredients came together harmoniously.

Google
came here based off a review I saw on social media. ordered a bowl of pho with meatballs and beef eye round. sad to see I got 1 piece of beef and 1 meatball both cut into 4 small pieces. broth was very good which made up for the lack of meat. we also ordered summer rolls, which were also very good apart from there being bean sprouts in them, which I've never had made this way. for the price, I can't complain.

Google
After scouring the internet to see where locals thought the best pho in DC resides, I came to check this place out. The dead cockroach hanging from the vent in the bathroom settled whether I’d ever come back, but I had already ordered by that time. The sports bar around the corner from me has better pho than this place. It’s not bad, just unremarkable.

Google
Great place for JUST pho! The pho is the best I’ve had: perfect, flavor-packed broth + great noodles + solid meat. Other than that, I wouldn’t order anything else here. The Thai tea is the worst I’ve ever had and the egg rolls were subpar. It’s also veryyyyy cramped, and the workers sometimes forget what you asked for/don’t come to you for a while if it’s packed. GO FOR THE PHO!!!

Google
Vietnamese food is my all-time favorite, and Pho always my 1st choice every time I read the menu. I tried so many Pho from all different restaurants, and I can tell you right now that Pho from here is top-notch. Never had spicy lemongrass broth before, so I gave it a try. My oh my, what a wonderful taste. Broth is so beefy with strong flavor of lemongrass. You can modify the level of spiciness as well Just remember, if you drive, to park your car is not that easy. I have to walk a couple blocks . But, it was all worthed

Google
The reviews are official! The Pho was superb and the customer service was great as well. Really tasty bone broth with a variety of cuts of meat. Authenticity at its finest! The taste will soothe your soul. Easily just became one of my favorite places to eat in DC.

Google
My recent visit to Pho Viet Restaurant left me utterly disappointed on multiple fronts. Firstly, despite the promising reputation of Vietnamese cuisine, the food here was shockingly bland, lacking any discernible flavor or depth. What's worse, the prices were exorbitant, with a hefty $20 per person price tag for what amounted to meager portions. To make matters even more unappetizing, the state of the restaurant's cleanliness was appalling. Tables were sticky, floors were grimy, and to my absolute horror, a giant cockroach was casually making its way across the ceiling. Needless to say, this unsanitary environment completely ruined any appetite I may have had. In conclusion, Pho Viet Restaurant is an establishment to be avoided at all costs – with tasteless food, overpriced dishes, and a shocking lack of hygiene, it's far from deserving of your time or money.

Yelp
Pho Viet Review: Favorite Pho Spot in the City Pho Viet is my favorite pho spot in the city. I particularly love the spicy lemongrass pho and the fried eggrolls. The service is fast and efficient, making it a reliable choice for a delicious and quick meal. The atmosphere is chill, located on the basement level of a row home. There are a lot of kitschy decorations, which make for a fun, laid-back vibe. If you're a pho lover, this place is a must-visit.
google avatar

Brandon H.

Yelp
This is the best pho in DC and probably the best pho I've had in a long time. The broth is extremely flavorful and the way they do their spice is much different from all the other spots. They give you actual spicy sauce instead of just siracha Check them out
google avatar

Charnise M.

Yelp
I got the Lemongrass Spicy Pho and I still want it again today! Such a wonderful balance of flavors. The spicy level I got was medium which was at my limit, it was not too mild and not too hot. A spicy that makes you want more! The service was good, it was a packed Saturday night. There was only one or two waiters but the place is small, a mom and pop spot. You don't go there for fancy, you go there for flavor and food that warms the soul.
google avatar

Farhad H.

Yelp
Came on a rainy day craving good pho and that's exactly what I got. You can ask for different spice levels and I got medium. It had so much flavor. They also had chili and a spicy sauce similar to siracha that you can add. Both were delicious. If you're in the dmv area this spot is up there if not better than pho 75

Yelp
Ok walking up up it's a beautiful front area w lots of flowers, inside is pretty dingy but literally whatever the food is good y'all. I ordered the Special Beef Pho ($18 now without tip) over the phone and they said it'll be ready in 10 minutes and boom they were right on time! Long story short, I got a lot of food so I can't be that salty about price, only reason I'm not doing five is because the broth had no real wow factor for me that would separate this pho place from others. Will be back !

Yelp
This is by far my favorite pho spot in the city. It's great for both dining in and carrying out. The restaurant is super casual with no frills and the pho is delicious and made in a very timely manner. The spicy lemongrass pho is very tasty with a bit of heat. It always hits the spot. 10/10 would recommend.

Yelp
Might be the best pho I've ever had.. and I've had a lot of pho! Beef, noodles, broth were all great quality. I love Tom yum too so this was a perfect blend for me, I didn't even touch their sriracha - didn't need it. If you can handle spice well, go for the extra spicy
google avatar

Alli R.

Yelp
Best pho in the city. I've ordered carry out, sat at the restaurant, and ordered on doordash. Always great quality. I always get vegetarian pho & summer rolls. The restaurant is a cozy almost hole in the wall with great service. Enough for at least 2 meals, but I recommend ordering extra broth for takeout if you wanna extend meals.

Yelp
Pho Viet in Petworth is a hidden gem, not to be confused with the chain Pho Viet USA in the area. It's a place that's easy to miss from the street, and it boasts kitschy Christmas decorations outside, year-round. While there are some tables outside, the real charm lies within. The interior is cozy and intimate, but be prepared to share a table with others, especially on the weekends. The highlight of the menu is undoubtedly the spicy lemongrass pho, and I personally can't resist getting it with brisket. Now, let's talk about spice levels. I'm usually a fan of full spice, but I've had to reevaluate my choices. The full spice here is no joke - it's seriously spicy. In fact, it's so spicy that I go through a good 20 napkins for my nose and another 30 for the sweat on my head. So, if you're feeling brave, go for it, but consider the half or even 1/4 spice levels. The brisket can be amazing but occasionally a bit too fatty. Regardless, the flavor is what makes this place shine. The prices are quite reasonable, making it all the more tempting to come back for that spicy kick. In my book, this is the best pho I've ever had, primarily because I'm a fan of the bold, spicy flavors. If you share my passion for heat, this is the place to be. On other notes, Vietnamese coffee is a popular choice here, and the staff is incredibly friendly and hardworking. They offer canned sodas, and my partner particularly enjoys the spring rolls. It seems they handle quite a few pickups, but delivery might not be an option. You'll notice many regulars among the patrons, and if I lived closer, I'd definitely become a regular too.

Yelp
Came here with a friend who lives in the neighborhood and loves the lemongrass pho. I ordered the chicken pho -- which another friend told me is blasphemous ("you didn't order the beef?") - oops lol. Its a good portion size. Lots of noodles. I got the quarter spicy which was plenty for me.

Yelp
I was working in NW today and wanted some pho. I ordered a #11 which is the special pho. The staff was ok, pickup was fast. I asked if cutlery and napkins were in the bag. The staff said yes but asked if I wanted chopsticks which I'm glad I said yes to because there wasn't a spoon, fork or napkins in the bag! When I got into the office, I opened up my bag and was highly disappointed. First of all...what kind of pho broth looks like this?! I hesitated amd prayed for the best... My pho was smothered in lemongrass which is not common for pho. I assumed they gave me bun bo hue which usually has lemongrass and is spicy. It didn't taste like bun bo hue, but tasted like tom yum soup with a hint of pho seasoning. It's not fragrant and doesn't smell like any of the spices a bowl of pho would have. The noodles were fine but the meat...yikes! I had 1 piece of meatball sliced into 4 pieces, 2 pieces of tendon and a glob of meat that looked shredded meat all clumped together. Was that chunk of meat supposed to be the brisket or the flank? Note: this restaurant asked for spice level which I thought was odd. I assumed they were adding sriracha to my pho but it wasn't the case. I can handle my heat and love spicy food but this was not well executed at all. Please do yourself a favor and save your appetite for an authentic Vietnamese restaurant.

Yelp
Not bad. Definitely will hit the spot when you need it. Location: Not bad either. I don't think there is a good place to park but I might be mistaken. It's next to the Green Line for Columbia Heights. I really wanted pho and just chose this one on a whim. I like the plants they have that decorate outside the restaurant :) First I sat on the outside, but during the summer time there are a bit of bugs that will bother you so we moved indoors for the remaining of our dining experience. Pho was okay. wasn't super great and wasn't horrible. I actually really like the sriracha that they had. I even took a picture because it was not what I am used to hahah. Guoi Cuon / Summer rolls were not it. sorry. I just did not like them at all. I always get a guoi cuon and pho when I go to pho establishments, but if I were to come back, I wouldn't get the guoi cuon. ** btw I got pho bo vien (( its my new thing )) and my partner got pho dac biet

Yelp
Love the pho here. The Vietnamese pot roast is the bomb! It a small spot. But I love it.

Yelp
Sweet lil neighborhood pho shop that invites you in with a whimsical entrance that catches the eye from the otherwise concrete jungle that is upper 14th st. A good sign that it's been at least half full no matter what day/time I've been here. I usually order pickup but a group of us showed up starving after a long drive back into the city and decided to sit down and eat in. It was a rainy holiday Monday and the place was nearly full but they kindly made an effort to find room for the 5 of us. We knew what we wanted so ordered quickly...and proceeded to wait 50 minutes until our food arrived. Everything was piping hot and delicious but we nearly didn't survive the wait, lol. Ordered the veggie pho with extra tofu, full spicy. Great amount of noodles, spice was well-balanced and I appreciated that they added lemongrass as well, and the tofu had perfect texture. I was hoping there would be a few more veggies but overall this was a solid 4/5 dish. My second favorite veggie pho in the city - just wish they offered a veggie beef option like the *other* neighborhood pho spot. The veggie egg rolls were steaming hot and clearly house made; the filling was SO good. But be warned that one order = 2 egg rolls cut into half. Tried my friends tofu pot dish and it was umamilicious, would def order that again as well!

Yelp
hate to say it but this place has plummeted in quality. Last takeout order was both mispriced (in addition to the takeout upcharges of which i am aware) - and despite being very specific twice in regard to one item when ordering - said item was still wrong. the lemongrass broth was watery and meh. FOH and BOH solo hablan español - mejor si ordenes así
google avatar

Justine A.

Yelp
Came for dinner and tried the lemongrass pho and it was great. The service was nice and fast and the ambience was chill and hommie.
google avatar

Ernesto A.

Yelp
Best Pho I've ever had in the North East (including NYC). The broth is perfectly balanced and the fact that you can choose the spiciness level makes all the difference. I prefer medium but my friends had the spicy and they loved it. Staff is super friendly. Get a Vietnamese coffee as well !
google avatar

Laura P.

Yelp
Ordered dinner on a late Sunday, place was hopping when we arrived to pick up, lots of people picking up and eating in. Food was ready pretty fast within 30 minutes, fresh and ample portions. Sadly, they were out of summer rolls - actually a patron in front of asked about them too. We got egg rolls, Grilled Honey Lemongrass Beef vermicelli bowl and Crispy Egg Roll & Dried Shredded Pork vermicelli bowl. We will definitely be going back for pho when the weather gets colder!!
google avatar

Temima N.

Yelp
We were looking for pho in the area after going to some museums in DC and we didn't have time to go to Eden so we thought it would nice to go here since we saw that they had some vegetarian options for me. However we weren't a big fan. The broth was bland and I'm glad we got it with the lemongrass since it gave it some flavor. My veggie pho was ok and my partner got the pho đặc biệt and he said there wasn't much meat. So honestly an ok place but nothing special or great about it.

Jenny X.

Yelp
A neighborhood gem I keep coming back to -- 10/10 food and drinks every time, quick service, and great vibe. I always get the #11 beef special and the Vietnamese iced coffee!
google avatar

Laura B.

Yelp
I have been saying for years I was never a big fan of pho and now that I'm vegetarian it's really not worth it. Well I ATE MY WORDS after visiting Pho Viet for lunch recently, WOW. The veggie pho was amazing - I really appreciate a restaurant that makes tofu shine and does make you choose between tofu or veggies - so perfectly flavorful and the medium spicy was perfect for me. All this experience in a laid back small restaurant where the service was very quick and attentive but mostly kept an eye from a distance without interrupting our meal often. And the prices are unbeatable.
google avatar

Natalie M.

Yelp
I heard good things about this place, so I stopped by to have some pho while in Columbia Heights last weekend. I tried the spicy lemongrass pho with brisket, which tasted like Thai Tom Yum soup with some well-done, tough and bland slices of brisket thrown in. The pho was not spicy! I'm glad I branched out from my usual Vietnamese spot, but this place is nothing to write home about. The location features outdoor dining and the small indoor dining area looks like it's currently doubling as a storage area. Food handling/Covid practices: The Asian gentleman and three Latina employees all had masks on. I was weirded out by the fact that the kitchen staff could be seen visibly touching the food with their bare hands. Also, at one point, the cashier went into the kitchen to prepare a to-go order without washing her hands before or after. I'm not planning to return to this restaurant. Nope!
google avatar

Doug B.

Yelp
I understand this is a local favorite for even Vietnamese expats. I enjoyed it. It does have a bit of the hole in the wall atmosphere. Great service. I had my go-to, Grilled Honey Lemongrass Pork with Crispy Eggroll. It was a flavorful dish. I love how the sauce makes it all mush together a bit. I think I inhaled it, so good. I understand the Pho is unique because they add lemongrass. Definitely consider a visit even from across town.

Gerard ..

Yelp
Food ok, service really slow but nice, ambiance wasn't horrible. I will give it another shot. It didn't knock my socks off
google avatar

Nat N.

Yelp
I ordered lemon grass beef vermicilli. I never been disappointed by vietnamese food till now. I have had vietnamese food quite a bit and especially this dish which relying on fish sauce, they dont even have the right sauce! I dont know what kind of sauce they have. I dont think there was even a taste for it. My friend raving on their pho, i kind of scared to even order anything else from them.
google avatar

Ashley S.

Yelp
Super tiny dining area, but food is amazing. I took a group of friends here who had never had Vietnamese food before. It did not disappoint. I got the spicy Pho Ga (Chicken Soup). Their broth was perfect and that's really the key to a good Pho. They give you the chili to make it spicier if you want, but it already had a pretty good heat level. I highly recommend this place and I would definitely go back when I'm in the area.
google avatar

Nick W.

Yelp
Been going here for years, their Spicy Lemongrass Pho is to die for and a unique twist on traditional pho. The atmosphere is really nice, it cant get busy just because of how small the inside is, but its definitely worth it. Their egg rolls and summer rolls are really good and their Vietnamese coffee is also A1! Couldn't recommend this place more, over six friends I've taken here have all loved it and been back on their own! Don't miss out!!!
google avatar

Shannon M.

Yelp
I used to love, love, love this place but now it's just bland and nasty. First off, the staff that they have definitely has issues with understanding English. I tried ordering on the phone and the woman messed my order up so bad I had to go in and order. Needless to say, she still gave me the wrong appetizers even after I pointed to it and gave her the item number. Go figure... The veggie pho was nasty and bland and my fried shrimp and sweet potatoes (which was the wrong item) was greasy and tasteless and like some of the other reviews stated, the fish sauce is so watered down. I wasted almost $30 on a nasty bowl of pho and an appetizer I didn't want. Save your time and money and go elsewhere.
google avatar

Siddhi P.

Yelp
Hands down the best Pho in the city!!! We have been going here for over 3 yrs once very week, and it's always consistently the same, service and everyone there are so pleasant and always make sure customers are well taken care off. If you have been go and order the spicy lemongrass PHo.

Tiffany H.

Yelp
Amazing food, best pho in DMV. Good vegetarian options as well. Excellent service too
google avatar

Natasha S.

Yelp
Every time I try to come here, it is always packed with a long wait now. While it can be worth the wait, sometimes I am just too hangry. So be prepared for that. Pho Viet has all your standard pho options. For broth options, you can have the standard beef, vegetarian or their spicy lemongrass. You choose the spice level. All broths are good. The lemongrass broth is the JAM. Sooooo good! And you can choose your spice level. The vegetarian broth is surprisingly flavorful. The vegetarian soup comes with a delicious juicy tofu that is lightly fried. But definitely not enough vegetables. The beef broth is flavorful. The combination meat is my favorite. They aren't very generous with the basil, jalapeno and lime though. For two soups, we literally each had 1/4 a lime, and one jalapeno. Service is always an issue for us. They aren't very friendly and always running behind. I also hate ordering to go, because the portions are way off and just isn't the same. Prices are standard to pho in DC. Seating is limited. So if it is busy, be prepared to share tables with other people. They use their regular size tables communal style.

Ryan F.

Yelp
After inviting my friend out for some good pho, I was embarrassed and disappointed by the lack of customer service. He got a salted lemonade ($5.95), took a couple sips, decided it wasn't for him. This wasn't a situation where he drunk a large amount and attempting to "get over." I asked the server to replace it with a regular lemonade, to which he called for the manager who explained that she wasn't able to permit this as they're a small business. She then proceeded to "empathize" with me, saying how she understood my position and that this has also happened to her at restaurants she's patronized. Okay, sure . Obviously $6 isn't gonna break me but it surely rubs me wrong to pay for a beverage that wasn't consumed. It was her unwillingness to make a simple accommodation and the pettiness thats turns me off from spending any further money there.
google avatar

Marisela V.

Yelp
Came here with my fiancé and I was excited to try a new pho place! I was not disappointed. Got two vermicelli bowls and it was delicious. Also, ordered an appetizer of egg rolls and they were good as well. Whenever I visit up north again I will definitely stop by :).

Kassein G.

Yelp
I ordered two beef pho & had them add shrimp. I picked up my food at 8:30 & they close at 9. One of my orders had shrimp and the other didn't. I called back to inform them of this and the Spanish lady that answered the phone told me I didn't order from them and they were closed she then hung up on me. I called back 6xs and she kept giving the run around then would hang up. I had to go back up there to get my shrimp and they were still nasty and rude & the Pho was average at best. Go elsewhere
google avatar

Linda L.

Yelp
We enjoyed our meals outdoors and ordered pho dishes, a catfish meal and a Banh mi sandwich for lunch. The pho broth taste was authentic and super fresh. My friends loved their catfish and Banh mi sandwich equally as well. Great service! The shady canopy is surrounded with pots of colorful flowers and vines that produce a bounty of melons. If you look around, you'll see anthuriums, hot peppers, and other amazing plants. We recommend Pho Viet, it's like experiencing a taste of Vietnam!
google avatar

Meghan W.

Yelp
This tiny restaurant serves some of the best pho in the city! The portions are pretty big and the broth is so rich and flavorful that I always choose this spot when I crave pho. There is little seating inside of the restaurant, but they do offer outdoor seating. Definitely recommended!

Kate L.

Yelp
Awesome food! Such friendly staff! We had a set of orders that needed to be nut and shrimp-free and they made sure that they were even separated from the others!
google avatar

Claire Y.

Yelp
Used to love this place, I recommended it to everyone and have been coming since 2015. Just picked up an order that was missing an entire appetizer, one broth was plain though I ordered both to be spicy, and to top it off the pho only came with noodles and some shreds of meat, no condiments or toppings at all??? I called and told them half my order was missing and asked for a partial refund but instead the rude woman who picked up the phone told me to drive back over to "pick up your bean sprouts"??? Trash experience and even worse customer service. SUCH a rude staff
google avatar

Betty E.

Yelp
After a night of drinking, this pho broth brought me back to life. At $9.50 for a bowl of beef pho with eye round and meatballs, you can't go wrong! I like that you have the option to make your pho spicy here - my friends who normally take spice pretty well thought that a level 3 was hot, so choose your spiciness level choice wisely! I thought the appetizer dish was nothing special, so I'd recommend sticking to the pho. Service here was friendly and fast!

Eduarda S.

Yelp
Very yummy tofu hot pot, good food! I recommend this place :) I need to try more, I'm going back!!!

Yelp
Nice casual pho restaurant just north of Columbia heights, on 14th street, offering door seating. The seating area isn't large , but there is indoor and outdoor. Plus it wasn't packed. They came to take our order and brought out water first. Then our egg rolls. The rolls were good but definitely over peppered. Next they brought our pho, I got extra bean sprouts etc. My friend and I both got pho and enjoyed them! Plus there was some left over to take. My friend said she prefers this over the last pho spot she visited. Overall I'd recommend it and sit outside!

Yelp
This is the best pho I've ever had in my life. I've now had Pho in Philly, DC, and one more city/state I can't remember, just for your scope of reference. I got the beef special with the spicy lemongrass broth (quarter spicy) and myyyy God! The flavors were all there; I don't even think I could do it justice by describing it--it's just something you have to try. I should also add these were the BEST and the MOST rice noodles I've ever had in a bowl of pho--the texture wasn't that far off from ramen. Also, the bowls only come in one huge size, so you probably don't even need appetizers, even though the fried egg rolls and summer rolls are popular here--and for good reason. My friend got the regular beef broth which was also tasty, but I'm going with lemongrass every time--and there will be many more times between me and Pho Viet. Service is fast and friendly, but one other note that might be helpful: This is a popular neighborhood spot and a small shop; customers are seated side by side at tables for 6, not separate tables. This probably only happens when it's really busy, but given it's a brutal winter in DC and the pho is so good, I assume they are busy often. Anywho, I can't go back to average Pho after this. I will make the trip from PG County to NW DC over and over. Til next time, Pho Viet!

Yelp
Amazing authentic food with a spice. Just delicious. Ignore the space but the food is yum yum yum Very reasonable in price, super healthy, absolutely tasty, and very filling.

Yelp
Four stars is too low! This was the best Vietnamese food I've had in DC itself. We ordered the vegetarian pho and the tofu hot pot, as well as vegetarian summer rolls. Everything came out amazing. We were blown away by how delicious it all was. Highly highly recommend.

Felix M.

Yelp
Best pho in the city for sure, anyone leaving less than 5 star reviews obviously hasn't had the #14 with spicy lemongrass broth and a vietnamese coffee.

Yelp
It's small and a bit cramped but it keeps a steady crowd for a reason. A bit quirky in decor, but the food is top notch. The service isn't great, but I've found that to be a common theme with the best pho places I've been to. They're nice, just not attentive. To start, I got the salty lemonade. I wasn't sure how it would be, but after a long walk to get there, it was surprisingly refreshing. Ya girl can eat but this was the first time I've ever not been been able to get halfway through a bowl of pho. The portion is HUGE (although you still have to ask for more lime. no one ever gives enough at first). The spice varies with each trip. I guess it depends on who adds the spice. If you really want spice, go higher then they'd suggest. Price and value are great. Foods great. Atmosphere and service are okay.

Yelp
Stopped by Pho Viet on 14th St a couple weeks ago. Definitely a calm lowkey spot that is affordable. I decided to get the beef round eye & well done brisket Pho, Summer Rolls with Shrimp, and a mango smoothie with pearls. The food was torch and the service was amazing, I'll definitely be coming back next time I want some Pho!

Yelp
It was my first time ordering pho to-go from here and I only did because they are closed on Tuesdays haha and wow it's almost just as good. I say almost as good because while it's amazing eating good pho from home, the experience is different. I love eating at the restaurant, constantly smelling pho and the staff here are lovely. They separated all the noodles, meat, add-ins. Just an observation from eating here a lot. When they are busy (most times) they sometimes don't get to the phone (for those calling to order). Just wait 5-10 min and try again.

Yelp
I grew up eating Pho. My girlfriend's Vietnamese. I've even been to Vietnam, twice. Pho is life! I'm always in search for the perfect bowl. Someone threw this place at me and said, "Spicy Lemon-grass Pho." The name alone excited me. I was so excited that I went that very night to try it. To my dismay, this famed bowl of pho tasted like spicy water. The broth had no herbal consistency; way too light and delicate to give me that comfort I was looking for. The meat was a bit scarce. Compared to Pho 75 and Pho 24 where they give you a boat load of meat... Pho Viet was a bit lacking. Not bad, but not amazing. If they added more meat and made the broth more dank then they'd definitely be living up to their name.
