Phoebe Diner melds 50s charm with mouthwatering twists on American classics, charming ambiance, and top-notch service that’ll keep you coming back.
"There are a couple locations of Phoebe’s Diner in Austin, but if you’re seeking the original 1950s-style classic American diner experience, you’ll want to head to the OG location on Oltorf. Breakfast, brunch, and lunch are served daily—show up during the week for a relatively quiet and relaxed atmosphere, or on the weekends at noon for the full, at-capacity old school diner experience, complete with mimosas and sake-based cocktails. While the menu leans classic American, you’ll also find some distinctly Texas twists, including pimento cheese omelettes, deep fried french toast, and smoked brisket burritos. And while you can’t make a reservation here, you can add yourself to the waitlist online before heading out and save yourself a little time." - nicolai mccrary, raphael brion, matthew jacobs
"The Bouldin Creek diner with two other locations in downtown and Gracy Farms offer two buttermilk biscuit options: one a Benedict with ham and another with fried chicken and eggs. Takeout orders can be placed online; there are indoor and outdoor dine-in services." - Nadia Chaudhury
"The Dawson diner’s daily menu includes all sorts of mimosas by the glass or carafe. There’s the classic one, a beet juice-orange, pineapple-orange, blood orange, and strawberry-lemonade. There are two other locations: downtown and Gracy Farms. There are indoor dine-in services." - Darcie Duttweiler
"The daytime South Austin restaurant serves up a breakfast-ready diner menu, ranging from buttermilk pancakes, French toast that’s deep-fried, bacon, eggs, to fried chicken with grits. There are other locations in downtown and north Austin. Takeout and delivery orders can be placed online; there are indoor dine-in services and some with outdoor dine-in services." - Nadia Chaudhury
