Quince's New Hospitality Director Embarks on His American Dream

Neighborhood Association Does Free Delivery for Struggling North Beach Restaurants | Eater SF

"I learned that Piazza Pellegrini, one of the neighborhood’s many Italian restaurants, was the first featured spot in North Beach Neighbors’ volunteer delivery program: an email blast with an online order form plus several hours of volunteer-run deliveries (limited to a two-mile radius) generated about $1,000 in extra orders that went entirely to the restaurant. Owner Dario Hadjian said that had those orders gone through third-party apps the restaurant probably would have kept only about half after commissions and fees, and he noted that tips given through apps often don’t reach the restaurant or staff. To lessen dependence on the apps he’s working on setting up online ordering and plans to rehire a former employee to serve as an in-house delivery driver for a few hours each day." - Luke Tsai

Recommend steak with onion sauce and asparagus. Red sauce is delicious! Chicken parmesan excellent! The Alfredo sauce is bland. Greek salad had too much pepper. Overall, great service and atmosphere! Would go back regularly if I lived here!

Google
This was not our first choice for Italian in the Little Italy section of San Francisco. We saw it and the menu and abandoned our first choice. We were glad we did! Everything about this restaurant is authentic and delicious! The Lasagna, Chicken Parmesan, and Chicken Marsala were well prepared and seasoned. We also tried the Bread Pudding and Crostada. They were both fresh and amazing!

Google
Delicious Italian food. This was our first time visiting this restaurant and we would definitely visit again. We were seated immediately and given some recommendations by the waiter. The food is wonderful with an abundance of choice, but I suggest you have the seafood spaghetti as it was amazing. Lots of drinks available with a nice atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Google
Food was good, but the service ruined the experience! We came from out of state to the Italian district. The host seated us quickly, but our waitress was slow, inattentive, & dismissive-as if she hated both her job & the people she was serving. We waited far too long for drinks. We were never offered refills, never asked how our meals were, and never checked on to see if we needed anything—which we did. I took the kids & waited outside while my spouse sat alone 20 mins waiting for the check which never came. Another server finally helped us pay. For $127 I expected at least decent service. Unfortunately, the poor service overshadowed the meal, & we will never return.

Google
This place is super fun. A little pricey but such a great patio and lots of options for food. I love the location you’re still in the hustle and bustle of north beach but away from all the tourist. I can only speak to the patio space but it was such a great vibe. Easy to seat the 8 of us that was there and lots of fun. Would come back again.

Google
We found this place because it was on our tour route. I had the gnocchi marinara, my husband the chicken parm and my son the chicken Marsala. This is top tier Italian food. We are from NJ and are no strangers to delicious Italian. This is right up there! Will definitely be back on our next trip. Bonus: all three of us had the tiramisu for dessert. THE BEST tiramisu ever.

Google
Piazza Pellegrini in North Beach (659 Columbus Ave) generally earns solid praise for its authentic Italian charm, welcoming vibe, and hearty portions—though there are a few contrasting opinions worth noting.

Google
Over the years, Cafe Pellegrini has been a decent spot for me, but this recent visit was a letdown. We chose to sit outside since the weather was lovely, and their patio is pretty nice – enclosed, with different seating choices, and a TV for sports fans, which makes it good for both groups and couples. I ordered a Peroni, and my partner got a non-alcoholic drink. It was odd that my beer came in a small plastic cup, while her drink was served in a big wine glass. She picked the pizza, which had a lot of Burrata cheese and arugula on it. I don't remember the exact name. The plastic cup for my beer was a minor issue, but the really loud 80s music was a problem. I like 80s music, it's nostalgic, but it was so loud that we couldn't talk without yelling. Then, when I tried the pizza, it was incredibly salty. I could actually feel the salt crystals, like way too much salt had been put on it. We didn't want to complain and tried to enjoy the afternoon, but then the bill came, and it was over $50. I'm not sure if I'll go back anytime soon. This visit was definitely not a good experience.

Yelp
My friend and I stopped by this place while walking around San Francisco before our piano experience together. It was my first time attending a live piano concert! All in all, we just wanted to have a glass of wine and some food, and she was curious to try the pizza here. The location is really nice, close to Washington Square Park, with a view of the church and beautiful buildings all around. We sat outside, and they had outdoor heaters (which was perfect since it was a bit chilly). That made the experience very comfortable and cozy. My wine was good, though I liked my friend's wine even more. The pizza was amazing: fresh, with a crunchy crust and great flavor. I honestly don't know why this place doesn't have more good reviews. Maybe it's because when you sit outside it feels a bit more self-service, even though they still bring the food to your table. That didn't bother us at all. There's also just one restroom for everyone, but again, it wasn't an issue for us. Overall, we really enjoyed the place. If I were being very critical, I might say it's between a 4 out of 5, but because we had such a lovely experience, I'm giving it 5 stars this time.

Yelp
On our quest to find good happy hour spots we ran into Piazza pellegrini. Located at the corner or Columbus Ave and Filbert St. The restaurant has two parts. There's the main restaurant in which we chose not to try this time, we wanted a chill happy hour vibe for the evening. The second part is an open space area right next to the main restaurant. It's a chill, relaxed, area. You have the option to order quick bites for happy hour or something more formal from the main restaurant. Ordering was easy, as soon as you walk into their open patio area, there's a cable car from which all orders are taken. They provide you a table number and then you get to pick ur table. Large open patio area, with space heaters. They have a few TVs around the patio to keep track of sports. The service was quick and friendly . The food was good. We definitely loved the fish tacos! Those there amazing! We had to order a second round of tacos. I also liked the pizza, it was a think crust margarita pizza with good flavor. The ambiance is what really loved. A very chill, private but still chilaxed vibe. The waiter turned on our space heater for us to enjoy being outside on a cold November day in the city. Overall, a good experience, a place I would visit with friends again.

Yelp
August 2, 2025, at 7:30 PM Vincenzo, the bartender, forced us to sit at the bar despite many available tables. When we asked him if we could move to the patio, which had plenty of seating, he refused, claiming most of it was full anyway. Later, Vincenzo approached us rudely while we were eating, interrupting to demand, "What is the matter?" I told him I was seeking the manager, and he boasted, "Yes, I'm the manager. I've been here for 20 years." I explained our earlier request for the patio, but he insisted that once seated at the bar, we couldn't relocate. I asked for the bill to pay and leave. When I requested boxes for our pizza and pasta, Vincenzo provided only a tiny box for the pizza, as they lacked proper pizza boxes. Overall, Vincenzo's service was dismissive, racist, and arrogant--far below what I'd expect for a $50-100 meal. 1 star. I wouldn't return even in a famine.

Yelp
I've walked by this place hundreds of times, it's right next door to my favorite North Beach parking garage (street parking in North Beach is horrible), so I finally decided to stop by. I ordered the Porchetta Sandwich (4 Stars) with salad. The French roll and pork were awesome, but they put a pesto spread that was a little over powering. Not sure if was needed, some extra juice from the pork would have been better. They serve with Arugula which was strong and then added dill pickles, nacho style pickles jalapenos on the side, why? Both didn't work. Pickled red onion would have been better and some your of Calabrian peppers hot sauce. The side salad was fresh with a decent balsamic vinaigrette.

Yelp
Alright, I'm leaning towards 3.5 for the food but round to 4 for service. The key need to know is that there's better Italian food out there and skip dessert. But if you want a casual place for great conversation and even have heaters for a meal outdoors, this is the spot. Shout out to the staff for accommodating our reservation to be outdoors last minute and for the server who was on top of all the plate changing, checking in, and conversation in between. Now for the food, the ok dishes we had were calamari and bolognese rigatoni. The crab arancini was unusually large and not as exciting as I would've expected for a special. Everyone liked the bruschetta with the mushroom having a nice truffle oil kick to it. Unfortunately, the dessert didn't meet expectations, like the tiramisu was just a sponge cake with strong coffee flavor. After that we learned from the staff that the chef was French so it explains why the tiramisu wasn't as authentic as expected.

Yelp
First time eating here & the food was delicious, the service was really great. I would definitely recommend!

Yelp
I got lasagna, it was above average. The highlight of the experience was the server and the ambiance of it. We sat outside on a busy street but it was very peaceful.
google avatar

Yelp
The grilled shrimp appetizer was excellent. Service is good. Cute spot. Not busy so beware. Clams and linguine tasted sour. The leftover sauce was grey. I should have stopped but was so hungry from walking for hours. Both my husband and I had the clams. We both had severe food poisoning for the next 24 hours. I don't think I can ever eat claims linguine again. It used to be my favorite dish.

Yelp
Really fun place to come with friends and have a couple of aperol spritzes! I ordered a penne alla vodka and I have to say this is 50% my fault but who puts smoked salmon in a vodka sauce? The pasta would have been out of this world if I had seen that there was smoked salmon in it and I asked to omit it. I have never in my life encountered a smoked salmon vodka pasta and I hope to never again. My espresso martini was good and strong!

Yelp
The outside is lovely on a spring day. If it's windy, you're still protected. There was a baby shower that looked so cute going on. We had a beer and a latte. They were served in disposable cups. That wasn't so cool because food is served on real plates. The other mixed drinks are also served in glass. Also the frozen espresso martini is so yummy.

Yelp
GREAT FOOD GREAT SERVICE!! The braised oxtail was so tender it fell apart. The spaghetti and meatballs were also delicious. The sangria was also smooth and set the mood.

Yelp
Food: 4 Service: 4 Decor: 2 Came here for a mixer and opted for some quick pasta before my concert. We were seated in the open patio outside. Fettuccine Bolognese, $24.95 Fresh fettuccine pasta with meat sauce ~Good. Pasta was cooked al dente and meat sauce was pretty flavorful. Service was fast and friendly.

Yelp
Went here last night for my mom's birthday and we were very happy with our experience. I got the Melanzane alla Parmigiana and that was excellent. The waiter was so nice and he even sang happy birthday in Italian to us (really well too!) and gave us tiramisu. Such a cute and cozy place for a night in. Do be aware it can be a bit cold as the front door may not be shut all the way, it has a tendency to blow open. Also, my sister got the tortellini that was labeled as spicy and she said it was not too spicy so that may be good to know. Overall, glad we came in!

Yelp
Let's start with the positives. The server was really very sweet with the two little girls (ages 6 and 8) at our table. He also didn't hesitate when I asked him to take our photo. And he was moderately patient with a group of 5 of us, including two senior citizens and two indecisive (albeit well-mannered) children, when taking our order. Nonetheless, I was soured overall by my lunchtime experience at Piazza Pellegrini for the following reasons: I arrived first, at 1:30 in the afternoon on a Friday. There was only one other couple in the inside of the restaurant, and they were finishing up. I told him my friend and her grandchildren were on their way and that we had a group of four. He sat me down and asked if I'd like a drink while I waited. I chirpily requested a diet coke with lime. He brought me a diet coke in about a 6 oz. glass that was mostly ice -- with lemon. Ok. Whatever. My friend finally arrived with her grandchildren ... and her husband. I jumped up to greet them at the door and turned to the server and said, "Oh, I guess we have five. Can we move to that table?" (The one right behind the original. Again, no one else in the place. And the only thing we had to move was my drink, which I did myself). He bristled and said, "You said it was four." Like he wanted to sue me for breach of contract. I let the attitude slide just as I had the mostly-ice drink with lemon, not lime. Ok, so then we get the kids' menus for the kids (a nice menu, really), and we all order. The pizza was good, but not great. Stiff competition for great pizza in North Beach, and we are not only all locals, but ITALIAN locals (going back generations). We know good pizza. We found that we had to get his attention for extra parmesan, etc. And the oil on the table turned out to be a spicy oil. That would have been good to know. Throughout our meal, he mostly just left us alone. Didn't rush us or anything. But also didn't seem to care about our experience: did we have everything we needed, how was everything. And it wasn't like he was overwhelmed with other customers. Eventually, the time came for me to ask for a box to take home my remaining pizza. I'd only eaten one piece of it, intending all along to bring most of it home to enjoy for dinner with my husband. And he brought me--not, not a pizza box--a small box one would scoop remaining pasta into. That was a real head-scratcher. I mean, this is an Italian restaurant with a pizza and pasta menu. You don't bring me a proper pizza box?? Did they not have pizza boxes?? I'm genuinely asking! But I was kinda done trying to politely deal with this guy (who was clearly not Italian, just saying), and I just piled the pizza slices on top of each other and squished my pizza into the little box, barely closing the top over it. By this time, I was irked. Finally, he brought the check to my friend's husband (the "nonno" / grandfather of the little girls), and my friend's husband paid. NOW HERE'S THE KICKER. READY? A few minutes later, he returned to our table and to my friend's husband saying (indicating toward me), "She ordered a soda before you arrived when she was sitting at the other table. She said there were only for of you. I forgot to charge for the soda. I need to charge you for that." SERIOUSLY?!? And that's the moment I decided I would not return. Really really poor judgment. This is the hospitality business. And the ITALIAN hospitality business, at that. You need to be a lot more hospitable than that. Do better.

Yelp
A great Italian restaurant combines a welcoming ambiance, attentive service, an authentic culinary experience, and a commitment to using high-quality ingredients to create a memorable and enjoyable dining atmosphere. This is the reason why we returned to this restaurant for dinner a 2nd time while in the area. My love affair with gnocchi is real, so I know Great gnocchi is a hard-to-find. It's a culinary delight, characterized by its light and pillowy texture, delicate flavor, and the ability to harmonize with a variety of sauces. I have made ricotta gnocchi, it is a very time-consuming process but can be very rewarding and since they clearly put mine to shame, I couldn't help but craving it a 2nd time. The Gnocchi alla Gorgonzola and Gnocchi Bolognese are fantastic! the gorgonzola is creamy flavorful and light, whereas the bolognese is a bit more hearty and just as flavorful. A warm welcome, adaptability, attention to presentation and warm ambiance should be a given for any decent restaurant, it definitely is here! This is a definite stop when we are back in the area. Cheers!

Yelp
Fun place to go with friends and eat on the back patio. They have a pretty big menu so there is something for everyone. You have to go up to order. The pesto ravioli was delicious, but calimari wasn't my favorite.

Yelp
If you're searching for an outside bar scene, this is it. ! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a warm and inviting ambiance that sets the tone for an incredible drink fest.

Yelp
I decided to escape the chilly fog in the Richmond District and make my way over to North Beach for a little change of scene. It turned out to be one of those simple, spontaneous afternoons that you don't plan for but end up really appreciating. The moment I arrived, there was this lovely, laid-back energy in the air -- people chatting at sidewalk tables, the scent of espresso and fresh bread drifting out from nearby cafés, and that perfect kind of golden-hour sunlight slanting across the streets. Since I'm currently on crutches, I was bracing myself for a bit of a hassle, but Julio, one of the staff members, immediately noticed and thoughtfully offered to bring my takeout order from the counter straight to my table. It was such a small gesture, but it made a world of difference and reminded me why I love these local neighborhood spots so much. I found a cozy little table outside, my dog happily settling at my feet, tail wagging every time someone passed by and gave him a little attention. I ordered a Caesar salad with grilled chicken, a comforting plate of rigatoni bolognese, and a glass of spicy cabernet sauvignon. Everything hit the spot perfectly -- the salad was crisp and fresh, the chicken juicy, and the rigatoni had that rich, slow-simmered sauce that clings to the pasta in the best way. As I was eating, a friendly woman with a terrier mix sat at the next table, and our dogs instantly made friends. There was this easy, casual camaraderie you find in places like this where everyone's just enjoying a slow afternoon. I also overheard a couple visiting from Spain who looked around, smiled, and said in awe, "This is beautiful" as the soft sunlight poured in and the street took on that dreamy glow you get right before sunset. It wasn't a fancy evening or a big event, but it was one of those moments where good food, kind people, and a simple atmosphere come together in the nicest way. Can't wait to head back again, maybe next time without the crutches.

Yelp
Sh1t hole and mean and nasty owners and staff. THE Worst! It's a good location but the people who run this place are UNBELIEVABLY nasty mean and unprofessional - totally over charge their customer and don't care about customer service. We are local and live in the area. Everyone local hates the way the proper run this place!

Yelp
Great place for family lunch or dinner !! Food is delicious and service is on point !! And location is amazing !
google avatar

Fred G.

Yelp
Great location with plenty of space for big groups and people watching in colorful northbeach, out doors seating in protected corner with robust space heaters when the fog rolls in, perfect place to dine with your well behaved dog. Menus is basic Italian/American fare, consistently good, big portions and fairly priced with 4-6 happy hour menu. Service is combo self service and table service.
google avatar

Carmen F.

Yelp
My favorite restaurant of all time! The ambiance is so amazing, and the food is UNREAL!!! The best Italian food I've had. The service is always so wonderful, this place will forever be my favorite place!
google avatar

Yelp
I decided to take my dog out of the fog in the Richmond and head for North Beach. Julio was really thoughtful and provided a carry out from the counter to my table which comes in handy when you're on crutches. A sense of warmth and welcome enveloped us as, my dog settled at my feet and I enjoyed a Cesare Salad with chicken, a Rigatoni Bolognese and spicy Cabernet. We met another dog and I overheard someone visiting from Spain marvel "This is beautiful" as the late afternoon sun filtered in.

Samantha S.

Yelp
Dirty Service is meh Meat raviolis are my favorite, but these were just okay. Slathered in red sauce to make the portion look bigger. I also found a small black hair in the sauce. No bread served unless you ask - when we did it was stale. The chicken fettuccine Alfredo was sent back. It had no flavor and the chicken chunks were cut like they were being fed to toddlers. Pepperoni pizza was good and spaghetti and meatballs were good. Check your receipt- the server tried charging for a drink we never ordered. For the price and quality we should have waited at Original Joes.
google avatar

Neville B.

Yelp
Sat outside on a sunny SF day having a Negroni Spritz. Perfect view of North Beach and Washington Square. Love the hustle of seeing people walk and enjoying the city. Mista Salad - delicious! Good Goat cheese. Osso Buco - Amazing! Perfect sweetness from the veggies and sauce to the delicate meat that falls off the bone. Yum!

Yelp
"It wasn't the best, but it wasn't bad either, which is why I gave it 4 stars. I was expecting a bit more from this place; the pizza and pasta were okay, and the service was fast and friendly, so no complaints there. Maybe next time will be better, who knows? I can still recommend this place; perhaps you'll have a better experience with the food. They do offer good value and ambiance."

Yelp
Came here to kill some time before a dinner reservation and ordered drinks to enjoy on the tented patio. There was plenty of seating and even some TVs playing diffent games/sports. Started with an aperol spritz and moved onto an espresso martini. Drinks were $14-$15, pretty standard for a cocktail in the city. Espresso martini came served in a normal water glass, which was surprising, but it tasted good and that's all the matters. Would definitely come back here on a nice day to enjoy some outdoor day drinking, and would like to try the food next time too!
google avatar

Emily F.

Yelp
Popped in for drinks and bites. We had a great time here. We came on a Monday afternoon so it wasn't busy and plenty of seating. Cute outdoor patio area with heat lamps as well. Drinks were made quickly and good. Then had pizza with sausage and mushroom. It was delicious, filling, good amount of toppings, and enjoyed the crust. Service was friendly and fun and would come back again!
google avatar

Julia C.

Yelp
Love the outdoor space and the plentiful heat lamps. I like that everything -- ordering, seating, bathroom is outdoors. I like that you order at the counter and they hand you plates, napkin rolls with cutlery, a carafe of water, cups, and you pick up all your condiments yourself. I like the casual vibe and not having to flag down a waiter and not having to figure out how to split the check with a friend. And it's totally chill to sit there for a couple hours reading a book, people watching, meeting up with friends. I wish more restaurants were like this. Fettuccine Bolognese was delicious. I want to try a few more things on their menu though -- Fettuccine Alfredo, Carbonara, Amatriciana, Pappardelle, Lasagna, Ravioli, Gnocchi Gorgonzola, Chicken Parmesan, Chicken Marsala, Osso Buco. Everything I've had so far has been solid.
google avatar

Tem W.

Yelp
I've eaten at Piazza Pellegrini twice, both times on the patio, and it's a lovely experience. The patio is comfortable, with heaters that keep you warm, even on chillier evenings. Although it's outdoors, the fenced-in design gives it an intimate, cozy vibe, perfect for a relaxed meal. I've tried the lasagna once and the chicken parm plate another time--both were so good, my mouth is watering just thinking about them! The food is definitely the star here. The service is okay; you kind of have to ask for things like bread or water, but it's not a dealbreaker because the food is on point. I'd recommend this place to anyone who values great food in a charming setting.

Yelp
came here with my family. we all got different dishes and enjoyed them immensely. the waiter was so kind, funny and gave us great recommendations. the chef was kind enough to create a special sauce for one of us with allergies. very allergy friend. it was quiet sitting outside but close by to the hustle bustle. will be returning.

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick authentic Italian dinner. The restaurant side was quiet and not busy. We waited and waited for food, but apparently there was like "100" people on back patio (we never saw that many) according to our waiter.. We ordered Carbonara and a pepperoni & sausage pizza. The carbonara was luke warm, flavorless, and the meat was mostly fat with zero crunch. The pizza was a greasy mess. Did we eat it, yes. Did we enjoy it, not really. The price seemed fair, but the service was slower than other places. Will probably try a different spot next time.

Yelp

Yelp
The food is freshly prepared and is excellent. Had pizza and salad. Service is slow. Excellent place to sit in the downtown area. The manager did make us feel a little uneasy with his attitude but the servers were friendly.

Yelp
My husband and I were craving for some legit italian pizza and pasta.. they accommodated my request for a pink sauce and I must say the pasta was fresh so was the pizza.. they also have a wine from italy that was puurrffectt for that afternoon brunch outdoors!! Aaahh!! Can't wait to go back in SFO!!! I just realized didn't have a photo of the food!

Yelp
I was in Rome two weeks ago. Then I am in the heart of San Francisco but this restaurant made me feel like I was back in Rome again!! The owner I believe is from Italy. I could be wrong but the food presentation, atmosphere and the service we have received was very efficient and nice. I saw beef Carpaccio on the special menu so I got all excited and ordered. I wanted to order pasta too but the Carpaccio and 6 oysters made me full. I was also happy with ordering a glass of champagne. They gave me a full glass. I was so happy. I don't see many places will serve full glass champagne. Also the waiter was very efficient serving us. He brought our drinks and food very fast. When we were ready for leaving, the waiter came with the check super fast and easy pay system there. It really reminded me of I was in Italy. This restaurant has the check machine for each waiters. Next time I would love to try their pasta. Their appetizers were so filling that I couldn't order pasta.:(

Yelp
This is fun outdoor spot with some covered areas. It's close to a bunch of other places if you want to bar hop. The food is excellent. I ordered pizza and oysters and both were very good. The Expresso martini's are to die for. Staff was very friendly. We came with a large group and had a blast.

Yelp
I'm not really sure what motivated me to try this very old school North Beach trattoria. Sometimes I have an impulsive need to support long-time businesses especially as the pandemic lingers. I have no idea how old in this case, but they've managed to operate from the most visible location in the area right across from Washington Square on Columbus. With an adjoining patio, this most certainly is a tourist magnet, but there was only one table occupied when I arrived. Ah, but the customers were fellow Italians who were bonding with the veteran waiter. So much so that it was hard for me to get any attention. Perhaps if I used my hands and talked about leaving the gun and taking the cannoli? Anyway, I just wanted something light as I was feeling carb-averse. Of course that feeling came after I ate the three complimentary slices of bread with olive oil and balsamic (photo: https://bit.ly/3l6zjtr). I ordered the Burrata Salad and Prosciutto which I recognized was rather overpriced at $24.95 (photo: https://bit.ly/3l7T6Zr). It was good but dare I say, kinda small for the price and time of day. It was lunchtime after all. Ah well, I tried to be a good paisan. FOOD - 3 stars...the burrata and prosciutto were good, the price not so much AMBIANCE - 3.5 stars...old world look seems apt SERVICE - 2.5 stars...I felt like a step-paisan TOTAL - 3 stars...some have a nostalgic fondness for this place...not me RELATED - Exploring North Beach? Here's a collection of places I've visited and reviewed: https://bit.ly/2X34Mji

Yelp
Great food! Always stop here when in San Francisco. One of my favorites! Food is delicious and service is always excellent! Lobster ravioli is my go-to dish, but tried my sister's pesto linguine and it was delicious as well!

Yelp
We rolled up around 6:45pm on a Tuesday night. Seating inside was tight, so we sat outside in the patio. Given it was chilly, they turned on the outdoor heater for our table. We were quickly waited on by a server, who gave us food recommendations. Drinks and food came out rather fast for a group of 6, so that was great. I opted for the fresh squeezed lemonade and the Chicken Parmesan. My drink was very good. The entree was rather large but sufficient for someone who came hungry. The Chicken Parm wasn't anything special, but it wasn't bad. As such, I'm opting for 3 stars. Would I return? No, as there's other great Italian eateries in north Beach.

Yelp
We sat on the back patio and the lights and heaters made it so cozy. The music could have been quieter but over all it was a solid vibe. The waitstaff were SO friendly and helpful. They were quick and were on top of everything we needed while dining with a toddler. The food - oh, the food was incredible. At first we thought $12 for a kids pizza was steep but this thing was huge. It's much more a personal pizza for an adult. My husband got the Linguine Al Pesto Genovese Con Pollo and I got the Fettuccini All Amatriciana. You could tell the noodles were fresh. The flavors were brilliant. I couldn't recommend this spot more!

Yelp
I've always wanted to come here after continuously walking by this place. Finally made it here with my partner on a Sunday afternoon. We dined outside with the heaters and people watched as we ate and drank the house red wine. Service was excellent and the food wasn't impressive but it wasn't terrible either. Portions are also on the bigger side compared to other Italian places in the area. Overall, I would rate this place 3.5 stars. - Fritto Misto di Pesce (Fried Calamari and Shrimp): Good! Each piece continued to stay crispy. Plate was served with cocktail sauce and a horseradish sauce. - Fettuccine all´ Amatriciana: Sautéed onions, pancetta, and meatballs in marinara sauce. The pasta was thin with a nice chew to them. I couldn't really taste the onions and pancetta though. Meatballs were a little dry on the inside and not hot at all. - Gnocchi Alla Gorgonzola: Creamy white sausage gravy dish. The first few bites were fine, but then it just got saltier and saltier. It was a pretty heavy dish too. - House red wine: Meh. It was on the lighter side and easy to drink but nothing special. While I did have a good experience overall, I don't think I'd be in a rush to come back. The menu looks great though and maybe one day I'll return to try more items.

Yelp
Small but mighty. Has vegan options. Doesn't take credit cards. Very nice staff people.

Yelp
Pizza was mid. Service was terrible. Also, left a water bottle and came back 30 minutes later and no one there would help at all even though the place was empty and nothing was going on.

Yelp
Just plain excellent! We had dinner 23 March 2024. Vinccenzo is the manager/owner and was magnificent. He helped us select a bottle of wine. They have a very good selection ....... some very high end wines. We shared a grilled shrimp appetizer followed by a calzone pizza. Great service and good prices. You can't really ask for more. Yelp
*for the outside kitchen $11 for an arugula salad... okay. An extra +$10 for prawns... alright. But to give me 4 prawns?? $2.50 per shrimp is ridiculous. And they aren't large either. Be pre paired to wait a while too. Not impressed. $9 beer to top it off. Overall

Yelp
Visiting from LA and decided to stop here after hours of walking around the city. Main guy in charge was a bit rough and tough but if you don't get your feelings hurt, he was ok. It seems like there's only 2 of them waiting tables but it wasn't super busy when we went. Food was delicious and not to expensive. I believe they make their own pasta
