"It’s impossible to describe this restaurant without mentioned the delightful welcome offered by the Izzo family, all of whom work hard to ensure that your dining experience at Piazzetta Milù is truly memorable. Maicol, who won Michelin’s Young Chef Award in 2024, is at the helm in the kitchen, where he creates one long surprise tasting menu. He skilfully blends techniques learned throughout his career in other kitchens with his own unique and creative ideas, resulting in dishes such as the delicious tagliolini made from cardoncelli mushrooms, flavoured with butter and mature parmesan cheese and sprinkled with white truffle (once the dish is finished, the sauce can be mopped up with a fake slice of bread, also made from mushroom). Your dining experience begins in the wine cellar, where the first part of your meal is served in an enchanting setting surrounded by some of the world’s best wines, chosen by Emanuele (who works front of house with the third brother, Valerio), after which you move back to the dining room, perhaps with a quick stop in the kitchen on the way. The experience was interesting. We got to eat in various parts of the restaurant guided by the waitress and sommelier. It started off well - interesting and innovative food paired with great wines. The food started to get rich and the drinks went downhill. We were given beer despite me saying I don’t drink beer. We were given the dregs of two bottles, one which had lost its fruit and the other full of sediment. The food became increasingly rich and harder to eat. Each of the three desserts were served with ice cream. Surely a 2 Michelin star chef could have more imagination than ice cream! BTW, it was mostly vegetarian.

One of the best dining experiences of my life - maybe the best. I've eaten in some world-class establishments but I will remember Piazzetta Milu as long as I live. The combination of the food (concept, execution, presentation) with the experience itself is second to none. It's important that I not describe the whole thing in detail or post pictures because the surprises were part of the joy. Just know that a five-star Google review is not nearly enough of an expression of how good this place is. Emanuele, and the entire crew, thank you for creating a lifetime memory. Oh! And, a tip, if you're not staying in Castellamare di Stabia, do yourself a favour and accept the restaurant's offer for a private transfer. The price is comparable to local taxis, and the train & bus may stop running by the time you've completed your dining adventure.

One of the best gastronomical experiences of my life. Host and sommelier Emanuele is an amazing expert and made our dinner an unforgettable event. His brother and the Chef Maicol creates edible pieces of art that leaves you speechless. I predict that the second and then the third Michelin star are just around the corner. The personal touch and the introduction of all the staff members is something that I would love to witness more often.

Wow. I’m at a loss for words. Every single aspect of this of this experience (using the word “meal” simply does not do it justice) was incredibly well designed and executed. The level of creativity and innovation is unmatched. I won’t post photos of any of the courses to preserve the sanctity of the element of surprise, but take my word. This was the most amazing culinary experience of my life. Extra points for having such a handsome team.

- Everything is a surprise. Nothing is dull or boring. Pompei is an old city with plenty of innovative and experimental bars and restaurants. - 6 course tasting menu with wine pairing. Love the craft beer aged in champagne barrel. - Chef is young and cute. - Servers are friendly, funny, and knowledgeable of the dishes, regional culture, geographic, and their suppliers.

The restaurant is managed by three brothers, each of them having their own role in this well-oiled machine. You will have to go for their seasonal tasting menu, and – trust me – you will not regret it. We were lucky enough to visit in December, when they were proposing their “limited edition” menu inspired by the smells, the ingredients, and the flavors you might expect to find in Neapolitan homes in the Christmas period. The whole dining experience was spot-on: we were welcomed with a nice drink in the antechamber, we were helped through the kitchen where the chef surprised us with an unexpected starter, then we walked downstairs to their cellar, where we dined at candlelight surrounded by their thousands of incredible wine bottles. The pace was fast, we had many bites which could not be described in classical Italian courses terms (no “first dish” or “second dish” per se), everything was beautiful, prepared with care and detail and extremely tasty. Especially in this phase, there were many trompe-l'œil, different consistencies, and the majority of the courses were surprising in a good way. We finally moved to the main dining room, where we had the last stretch of our experience. The room is bright and well decorated, the tables are fairly distant, and you are given the right amount of attention by the staff. I will not describe the dishes, as they will change soon, and also because you have the same right I had to be surprised; all I can say, though, is that even the (very few) ones that did not “wow” us were perfectly executed – just lacking some punch. I had the beverage pairing, which entailed excellent wines from around the world, but also sake, gins, botanical drinks, a scotch… and that’s exactly what I would like to experience every time I visit a fine dining restaurant: competence, extensive knowledge, and ability to surprise the customers with pairings they would have never thought of. I had informed the crew it was my fiancée’s birthday, and they made it very special with a considerate and personal touch (if you guys are reading: once again, thanks a lot!). The price is probably higher than the average for one-starred restaurants in the area, but the team at Piazzetta Milù are definitely pushing the bar. Try to think about it in these terms: sure, you’d be paying a bit more than what you should for a “normal” one-starred restaurant, but you are having an experience worth two stars – which would be much more expensive. So, at the end of the day, it’s a bargain :-)

It was an incredible experience, one of the best in my lifetime and people who know me know I love great meals. Me explaining it will not do it justice. You are in for an adventure and don’t be fooled by the little bites because you will be more than satisfied by the time you leave.
