Best (and freshest) guanciale I’ve ever had in NYC. My kids loved the sweet sausages as well—impossibly tender, so good. Will be back to try steaks, which looked fantastic. Great service, butcher gave me a recipe for beef stew when I asked .

July 4, 2023, What a way to have a barbecue, get it nice and hot throw on a Piccinini 42 oz. Porterhouse and a couple of their outstanding filets, get the grill marks and lip smacking good. We can’t say enough about the quality that you provide. Thank you again! Ps Dad gave me a marrow bone to munch on! Buzz It’s now then end of thanksgiving 2022, and I must say that for the last 2 years we have been buying our thanksgiving turkeys from you and bar none there is no better. They’re just outstanding yes they’re more costly then when you buy from a supermarket or even a local butcher. However, there’s thanksgiving and you deserve only the best and that’s what Piccinini gives you. Thank you. Since the last time I wrote my little buddy @bizy_buzz, said, Dad it's time you wrote another review telling Piccinini Bros how great they are, and how wonderful the products are that we get from them. He said tell them the truth that "they're you favorite," so when little Buzz speaks I listen! Thank you again from all of us! We started buying from Piccinini about 18 months ago, basically when they started accepting online orders and delivering to NYC and Long Island. What a blessing, The quality and selection of provisions is simple amazing. Over the years I have purchased a significant amount of similar products from D'Artagnan and Agata on 79th Street in NYC. Now, I'd say pretty much all of my meat comes from Piccinni, as does the poultry and various other assorted items. The biggest bonus is that I get my frozen marrow bones for my puppy too, which is of the utmost importance to me. They are a wonderful purveyor, a caring provider and a local business and they need community support. The racks of lamb I served our company last night, naturally are the same you'd get in your upscale restaurant. they were just simply amazing. I felt compelled to posting this note, most of what I post are restaurant reviews but I needed to do this! Thank you Sylvie and staff!

I shop local as often as possible and normally would say that I love Piccininis. In fact I have shopped there for the last few years since the pandemic, and buy all my meats there for a family of 4. It's a block from my house. I buy large quantities at a time which I freeze immediately after. My last purchase was around a month ago which included 3 separate packages of ground turkey. When I defrosted and unpackaged 1 lb, the smell was terrible. I then checked the other 2 packages in the freezer and they too had a strange smell through the plastic. When I returned the packages to the store, the staff let me know that the meat was in fact rotten as they could see some mold circles through the packaging. No replacement was offered, and no explanation given other than I had to have come back within 2 days of purchase to return the items. I am highly disappointed that this happened in the first place, and question their cleanliness and adherence to food handling. While the money was not what I was after, the experience and lack of customer service has left me saddened and I will not be recommending nor purchasing any meat items from this store again. The meat was rotten when I got it in the first place when it was given to me in a bag, as I froze it right away. Perhaps it was their turkey only? Not sure what to say. However I would recommend that for anyone who chooses to shop at this store, that they check their meats before they walk out the door.

This may be the best butcher shop in New York City but don't ever work for them. They will physical and mental abuse you. They will give you routes that would take 14 to 15 hours to complete. They will scream at you when your deliveries are late because you have to keep going back to the store to pick up products that the workers in the store conveniently forget to pack with your deliveries. There is a lot of favoritism going on in this establishment. The boss will tell his employees what they want to hear instead of what they need to hear blatantly they will lie to your face. There is so much disfunction in this establishment. Please save yourself the headache.

I’m so disappointed. I called the shop to make sure they would be able to fabricate the simple order I was going to send. I was assured “absolutely”, just put it in the instructions. I received both items incorrectly. I called and was told the owner would call to rectify the situation. No call. I’m a Private Chef. I live uptown and could easily get the simple items here. I was looking for a butcher who could do the correct cut and trim. Oh well :(

This place will spoil you for quality meat. We can’t fathom going back to grocery store meats. It’s all so much more flavorful. And I can get interesting pieces like calf liver and pig ears. They say they can fulfill special requests and I’ve asked them for things like the calf liver and American Wagyu. They check with their sources, give me a price, and it’s included in my order. It’s still a small business so you won’t have Amazon-like responses, but I’m delighted to support a local business.

One of the last great original butcher shop's in the city, ~100 years old. Recently open to the public. You can now purchase restaurant quality cut meats. They have everything you could want from from beef, pork, dry-aged steak, chicken, duck, sausage, bolognese, and more. The staff is very friendly and helpful. This is a hidden gem you don't want to miss.
