"Piccolo Cucina now has three spots in the city (all of them in Soho), and this one on Prince Street is the most casual. It’s a one-room restaurant that feels like it could be in a small town in Sicily, with doors that open up to make the whole space airy, and one person cooking all the food behind a tiny bar. The menu primarily involves Italian small plates like octopus salad and arancini, along with some housemade pastas - and we especially like the meatballs and the orecchiette, both of which are served in a tart and cheesy tomato sauce. This place works well for wine and a casual bite after work, or during lunch when you can get anything on the menu for $10." - Matt Tervooren

I rate their food 5/5. And in consideration of the lunch special and its very reasonable price, I’d give this place an exceptional 6/5! One rarely finds good seafood in the United States of No Fresh Food (including this terribly expensive city), but Piccola Cucina is an exception. Yes, it can’t match the very best in Italy but it’s close to the very good ones, especially in consideration of its humble price. The service is also outstanding. I have always been very pleased with the waiters and waitresses. To be honest I was displeased once because the waiter seated fitst two ladies who came after me. But upon my complaint, the waiter made multiple attempts to make it right for me. Impressed by his great attitude, I ended up leaving a large tip and will definitely be coming back again and again in the years to come.

Food here was amazing. The ravioli a ragu was amazing. It was literally one of the best pastas I ever had anywhere I've been. Make sure you order the canolli. It was also the best I ever had. There's very little room, so make a reservation and be ready to be touching the party you come with. The servers are really nice and funny. I would really recommend this place.

Not the best Italian meal I've had but if you are looking for authentic Italian ambience then this is a great place! It's a small, cosy restaurant with lots of little tables that are constantly being shuffled around for guests. The people who are serving and cooking for you are young Italian men and you feel like you've been transported to Italy! I don't know if they take reservations as I was a walk-in. A simple Italian wine list and specials of the day make this a place worth trying again.

We visited on a Wednesday night and it's a good job we made a reservation as people were already waiting outside (in the rain!). First of all the venue - The restaurant itself is very small and they really cram the tables in but this makes for a fun, intimate atmosphere, especially for anyone who is celebrating a birthday when the pots and pans are banged along to a rousing rendition of 'Happy Birthday to you'! On to the food - I had one of the specials which was spaghetti with seafood and was absolutely delicious. Having lived in Italy for a year, this was some of the best pasta I've tasted since then and you can tell it's authentically Italian. My girlfriend had the Cavatelli pasta with lamb ragu which was equally delicious. The dishes themselves are served out of saucepans which was a bit different and not sure whether I like this or not! For dessert we shared the creme brulee which was just perfect. All the staff were extremely attentive and friendly and service was extremely efficient given how busy they were. Highly recommended if you fancy some authentic Italian cuisine in NYC.

Came because of a friend's recommendation and I'd say it's good italian food - though I will not go out of my way to come back again. The food: Octopus caprese had good texture (crispy octopus) and the basil tomatoes and cheese were refreshing but the octopus was a little under-seasoned. The wild boar and truffle pasta was a winner - pasta was perfectly timed and held the rich meat and truffle sauce well with every bite. Service: staff were friendly and helpful but the wait time was crazy long even though there were not that many people. This may not be a problem if you came for a date and am not in a rush at all. All in all still a good restaurant for delicious italian food but it's small and wait might be long.

Nice restaurant with a nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Calamari was lovely and spot on. Pasta was good, but not great - perhaps just an off plate, a little under cooked. I would however give them another try again.

Lovely little Italian place in soho. We came by it by chance during a weekday and they had pasta (and most of their dishes) for $10. The waiters are all Italian and very friendly. The place is very small, it accommodates around 20 people. The food was great, I would definitely recommend this place!

Very authentic Italian food. It is so hard to find real authentic Italian food in the USA so I was surprised to find this place. I had the ravioli and you could taste they were made fr ok m scratch and the filling was fresh. Also the bruschetta and the lasagna were perfect.
