Great Italian restaurant. Big portions and deliciously tasting food. Diverse menu of pasta dishes, appetizers, salads, desserts and more. They offer indoor seating and some tables outside. Friendly service.

If you want to experience the love of a traditional Italian family, come here. The food is excellent. The meatball is huge with a fantastic marinara sauce. The chicken marsala was a standout with a rich sauce. The arugula salad had a delicate dressing and freshly grated parmesan cheese. Maria and Fernando manage the front of the house. You’ll find them quick with a hug and a genuine care for everyone who enters their door. It’s a small lively place that was buzzing during our Saturday night visit.

The ambiance here was nice and cozy. I got the gnocchi bolognese with a garlic bread appetizer and a tiramisu cake. The garlic bread and tiramisu cake were both very delicious. The gnocchi bolognese was good too but it tasted like it needed more salt. Portion size was big. It took a while for me to get the check and my dessert, but I won’t fault them too much since it was a Saturday night. The waitress was very friendly and personal. We had a nice chat after my meal about the best way to heat up my garlic bread leftovers and my home state North Carolina.

Piccolo Angolo one of my favorite spots for their spaghetti and meatballs. Tonight we went with the veal ossobucco, beef carpacio and baby arugula salad. All in all a good meal but I feel like something is lacking, it is just not the same taking out the food, it is much better of an experience to dine in but the current situation prevents us from doing so. Can't wait to sit down at this wonderful restaurant again.

Piccolo Angolo is a typical home cooked, family run, red sauce Italian restaurant. What to expect... firstly very pleasant service! If you're lucky enough to have the owners daughter serve your table you're in luck because she's warm and welcoming. You'll feel part of the family quick. Secondly, except a lot of food. I mean a lot of food. The prices are a little higher than other spots but you won't be leaving hungry that's for sure. Your table will be served some bread. Half the basket will be garlic bread which was a pleasant surprise! Make sure you order the meatball as an app - 1 meatball is more than enough for 4 people! The food here is exactly what you'll expect. Comfort Italian food. Pastas. Pastas and pastas. They're all good and you can't go wrong with anything you pick. Don't be shy. Use that bread to clean the plate of all that sauce. This place is that good!

So many Italian restaurants, but there’s something truly unique and authentic about this one. They accommodated us for a late dinner, and the staff was so friendly, informing us of the history of the restaurant, the owner and his family. Most importantly- the food was delicious

Always a delicious meal here at my dad’s favorite restaurant. My dad has since passed but we continue to have family meals here , very special place and Maria is an awesome hostess .

Make a reservation! It's a tiny, tiny space that is worth planning to go. Excellent italian food, service, and ambiance. It was easy to find, too. I had the vegan ravioli. It was tasty, and the sauce was delicious! Definitely put this on your must eat list.

Old school neighborhood Italian place on the west side of Manhattan. The dishes were delicious and we ate family style for a table of 10. Ordered 8 dishes. No leftovers but that's ok as we were all from out of town. Bread was good but we could have used a bit more to soak up the deliciousness. My bad for not asking. Show up on time for reservations as they won't seat you early. All in all, great place and I'd go back. Sorry no pictures but we were hungry and ate it all. Fast! Enjoy.

Meatball no flavor sauce no flavor. Veal francaise too think too lemony. Bolognese never came to the table bad bad bad.

The food is incredibly! Portions are gigantic and they keep the bread coming. The vibe is family style Italian. The owners are always there to provide the best experience possible. What's the star of the show? The MeatBall of course!

The mains were good. The atmosphere was meh. The service was off. Limited bar. Bathroom requires a tight squeeze past the kitchen. Desserts were the frozen Italian type. Nothing homemade.

My favorite restaurant, hands down. Always good food, always great people. The friendliest family invites you in for giant meatballs and outstanding entrees. Portions are uniformly generous - my most recent veal parmigiana caused me to break my chair.

Ah, I truly hate to say it, but Piccolo Angolo's better days are well behind it. Back when Renato was in charge you could feel the love and intention attached to both the menu and service. He really cared about his clientele and he made everyone feel welcomed and special. The menu reflected a generosity and effort that made each visit and every meal special, and remembered. Try as she might, his daughter doesn't appear to have the interest or time to continue his legacy. After several visits over the past couple of years, it's clear the heart, love, and intention that once oozed from every corner of this tiny cafe are long gone. The portions are smaller, the flavor and tastes less robust or refined, the service is brutal, and the prices are prohibitive (for what you get). It feels like they're hanging on just to milk the restaurant for every last dollar before the doors are closed; and closed they will soon be, because no restaurant can survive the obvious sense of desperation that's palpable in the remnants of what was once a delightful evening. Sadly, on my way to the restroom I noticed what appeared to be mold growing in the glass cooler across from the kitchen. Most of the area in and around the kitchen is soiled and the restroom is beyond filthy, to a point that is frightening. I'm surprised the health department hasn't forced them to clean things up. I looked up their health grade and it's an "A." I just don't see how that's possible. I could go on, but I feel sad saying goodbye to what was once one of our favorite restaurants in the city. There were even times when we'd go twice in a week! But I just can't justify paying top dollar for a disappointing experience. I will always remember Renato for being a friendly and classy man who worked his butt off to build an amazing dining experience, and hopefully I can let the memories from this current iteration fade. Arrivederci Renato. Arrivederci Piccolo Angelo. I wish the best for your family.

There was a time not so long ago that the West Village, Chelsea and SoHo north of Prince Street formed a continuum of modest but welcoming and generous Italian, French, Spanish restaurants serving generally "Mediterranean" cuisine. They were places you returned to because they could be relied upon for a relaxing and convivial evening. There is nothing more mood-killing than price gouging and stinginess, especially when cloaked in the gilded suit of "inflation." Piccolo Angelo was at one time such a place, but today the temptation to flee arrives with a menu that snarls rather than smiles. A plate-splitting charge of $8.00. Only one bread basket per table because of increased costs from the "bread supplier." Now order. Then there is the food. Quality downgraded, and sadly overpriced, like so many other New York restaurants these days. $19 for spaghetti with garlic and oil, a formerly ubiquitous included side. Garlic bread (the menu makes clear that your order will contain 5 and no more than 5 pieces. $32 for very bad Chicken Fracese. Then there is the brusque, incompetent service. The dank atmosphere and the sadness that comes when you realize that you are no longer a welcome dining guest, but rather a supplier of bricks to build the check. Although I can afford it, I eat in restaurants with decreasing frequency. The Picolo Angelo of today is a great example of why I do. Good luck building a loyal clientele while blatantly nickel and diming AND ripping off your customers. Yes food costs have risen, but driving customers away will be the most expensive item in any restaurant's budget. Suggest you do as I do with any restaurant, and sort the reviews by "newest," and you will see that I am not alone in my reaction to Picolo Angelo. What a shame.

This place used to be great, it's sad to see how far it's fallen. It was dirty, the food was bland, and the service wasn't what you'd expect at this price point.

I had a really good time with girlfriends at this restaurant. Staff is really friendly and funny and the food was really good! We ordered a few things and tried everyone's dish. There was a dish and I don't remember the name but it was really good. It had pear and cheese in it and it's a lil sweet as well but so so good. I ordered the clam linguini and there were a lot of clams which was really good as well. The asparagus Parm was really really good we all liked that! My friends gnocchi bolganase was really good as well. It was all really tasty along with the tiramisu for my friends birthday. We will be back soon!

Like a family restaurant. I love the desserts best. But if I go back, I will definitely have the mussels as my main course and the roasted asparagus parmigiana. The Alfredo Fettuccini is also delicious but very large portion. I actually like their house wine. I just came back from Europe and that is how light I want my red wine to be. We got a carafe. The veal chops was good but very tough meat which I do not understand why. The flavor of the sauce was fine. The is osso-bucco was very tender and the bone marrow delicious. A bit too much sauce though.

Based on our experience, the owner(s) probably won't care about this review. That alone should mean a lot. My husband used to live in NYC and frequented Piccolo Angolo quite a bit. So when we were in town for a weekend with friends (and they couldn't get a reservation at Carbone); we considered reserving a table at a Michelin star restaurant, but instead chose Piccolo Angelo to give our friends an authentic, just-as-good as Carbone experience. Fast forward to 5 minutes before our reservation, as we're getting out of our cab, and one of the couples joining us says their travel arrangements have changed... We walk into Piccolo Angelo (who has only two tables, six people total seated) and tell them our reservation of six has now turned into four. The woman we talked to (owners daughter/maybe now owner herself) says "I hate when you people do this", and sits us in the far back corner next to the table where she is putting together to-go orders. We have to flag down someone to order a bottle of the house red. Our friends arrive, and then it takes about twenty minutes for anyone to acknowledge us. A server comes over and we start listing off the appetizers we want to start with (there are still only two other tables in the restaurant), and the server interrupts us to say they are only serving pasta. We cannot order appetizers or entrees, only pastas, and they need to be ordered now because the kitchen is going to close soon... (it's 7:50pm)... To avoid more awkwardness, we rush order four pastas... The owner/owners daughter then comes by the table to explain they were at the restaurant until 2am last night, so they're trying to get out early. Okay. The pastas were good. No better than what we can cook at home. The experience was embarrassing. We quickly ate our pasta and got the heck out of there. It's a shame.

Artichoke appetizer was bland and had a plastic texture when bitten but at $18 we did our best to eat it. Entrees were mediocre at best. Extremely bland. Sauce out of a can. At $30 a plate we were expecting much better food. $2 extra for bread, $8 split plate fee, 4% credit card fee. Hostess/waitress was harsh and not very inviting at first and we were hesitant to advise her of our opinion. She also was discussing how she is ill but not Covid. Coughing thought the evening. Towards the end of the evening she came over to chat with us. Worst food on our trip. Would not return.

Haven't been to Piccolo Angolo in many years and great memories of Renato! His daughter and son now running the restaurant are doing their dad proud! Totally don't understand any negative reviews. It's still great! The service is attentive and didn't feel rushed in the least. The food is still outstanding from the giant meatball, veal parm on the bone(anything parm here is delicious), baked clams, and any pasta dish super. I'll be thinking about the short rib ravioli until I return sooner rather than later! Thank You Peter and Maria for keeping this family restaurant that's been special for over 30 years filled with past memories of great family, friends, food and wine humming so we can continue to create new ones!

the restaurant is horrible. the old hag who seats you/serves you/takes your order shouldn't even be allowed to work in a public setting or be let around people for interaction. Service was unapologetically horrible, they forgot to put our food into the kitchen and when my husband followed up after we were sitting for over an hour she replied "I'm only human Im one person." No , "I'm sorry let me take care of you" or even owning up to her mistake. She was plain rude. secondly and most importantly the food was inedible. A jarred Ragu would be infinitely tastier. We went on Valentine's Day - what a mistake. When we said the food was not good - the old hag said "maybe take it home add some vodka sauce to make it better" DONT GO HeRE if you want a normal delicious meal only go if you're ready to be spoken rudely and eat dog food.

I cannot say enough about this restaurant. Aside from the fact that the food was so delicious and reminded me of my grandmas cooking, the staff was so warm and welcoming, and the restaurant atmosphere makes you feel like you're sitting at your grandmas dinner table in Italy. We spent a few hours here, getting to know Maria and Pauline, the owner, and one of the sweetest ladies I have ever talked to. I got the burrata lemoncello ravioli, my mom got the vegan ravioli, and my dad got the chicken florentine. We got the meatball appetizer to start us off, which seemed like a lot, but once you taste the meatball there's no way you'll have any leftovers. Pauline informed us that the meatballs are even better the next day, once reheated. I will 100% be going back to this restaurant and I recommend it to anyone looking for a quaint italian restaurant in the west village!!

This place is what New York City is about. This is a family owned and operated 40 seat amazing Italian Restaurant. The food is absolutely delicious, the ambience is right out of a movie and you can't help but singing Billy Joel's Scenes from an Italian Restaurant as soon as you sit down. I cannot recommend this place enough and promise you will not be let down. The meatballs are enormous and still the best I've ever had (sorry Nana) and the tiramisu is homemade and second to none. If you're in the fence about dining here it'll be your loss of you chose another establishment.

My favorire Italian restaurant. Elite food. Very small, but elite food. Best chicken parm. Best red sauce. Great meatballs.

In our week-long quest asking, "is it better than Crispo?" this longtime Italian spot actually is just as great. Four stars for the gnocchi bolognese, which definitely needs the cheese, and three stars for the rigid fried artichoke appetizer, but five stars for the incredible pear-and-cheese pasta (one of the greatest pastas in the city) and five stars for the tiramisu. Can't wait to come back and try another red sauce pasta and the zucchini flowers appetizer.

Food is 5 stars. Really good, tasty, large portions. Wine is adequate, nothing special but decent enough Service..man the day that we came in they were struggling big time. THere had to have been only 2 people in total working and I felt bad for the server who I believe was the owner as she was really busting her butt trying to make it all happen, unfortunately, we waited 45minutes for our check, and 45 minutes for our first glass of wine A typical 90 minute meal turned into 3.5 hours. THey kept letting people walk in and could not handle them which was unfortunate for the people that had reservations and had no attention at all. I hope they hire more people in the near future so that they can do what they do best, serve amazing food

The moment you step inside this cozy Greenwich Village restaurant-you just know you will be having a wonderful meal. Run by brother (Pete) and his sister (Maria) it's a family affair. They are lovely. The servers have been there for years and particular care is given to each and every customer. We tried the Insalata Caprese with fresh Burrata mozzarella. To start- delicious!! The eggplant parmigiana was perfection- crisp around the edges and silky smooth gooey goodness with every bite. The chicken parmigiana was a classic too. They have started a Go-fund-me page. To try and help stay in business. The pandemic hit them hard. Please contribute by either going to this classic NY Italian restaurant- or donate to their fund! We want to keep them around!

After many years we were in town and wanted to have dinner at what used to be one our favorite places in the village, sadly after the owner passed away the daughter has managed to destroy it, the food was horrible, not just one dish but all of them, the now owner's attitude was terrible too, nothing like her father who was always very kind and attentive. What a shame, Renato would be so unhappy to see what has happened to his restaurant. Anyway, will never go back, used to be packed, now almost empty on a weekend. :(

First , horrible service, rude and not welcoming at all. The food was nothing special at all, very basic and overpriced. I don't even understand how people can give this food 5 stars , they obviously never tried real Italian food. And remember, you need to pay extra $4 for usage of credit card, and if you ever like to share a plate it's a service fee of $8... (?!) Will never return.

My favorite red sauce Italian! Had a birthday dinner here decades ago and they were great. Really enjoy everything on this menu especially meatballs and parmigiana anything. They are famous for lobster pasta Their desserts are homemade too. I love the hosts Would always return for sure

Small, cozy family run restaurant In charming part of Greenwich Village. Staff has been there for many years and it really feels like a family home. The food is terrific, eaten here many times and have always enjoyed the entire experience. Looking forward to my next visit.

A cozy place with excellent service. Everything we ordered came out great. The meatballs are huge and must try. My personal favorite the Veal Ossobucco, tender and flavorful! This is a neighborhood gem. Do make reservations, especially on Fridays and weekends.

Came here with two other couples a few weeks ago. The restaurant itself is quite small but the food is good and the people are very kind. We ordered the beef carpaccio, bone marrow and the veal chop milanese, all which were on special. We also split a few bottles of wine which were well balanced and reasonably priced. Beef Carpaccio- definitely the stand out dish. There was a very sizable portion with a well seasoned arugula salad. We requested capers as it was noted as optional, and the brininess really completed the dish. Loved this. Bone Marrow- I will order bone marrow pretty much every place I go and enjoy it. My biggest issue here was that the bone itself left VERY little marrow inside and only one was provided. We were only able to get three small bites from the marrow which was quite disappointing, especially for the price. Most of the bone was inedible and quite shallow. Veal Milanese- this was a large portion that I split with my fiancé and it was definitely enough for us. The fresh salad on top was a nice flavor contrast to the breaded chop. Would have been nice with a bit more balsamic but happy overall with this. Chocolate Cake (not pictured)- the chocolate cake we ordered to share, and it was definitely classic. The chocolate chips on the edge were the best part, but overall the cake was slightly dry. Would come back again to try some of the other entrees, and definitely get the beef carpaccio.

This is one of those fabulous neighborhood spots that I never forget about. They're warm, friendly and you feel like you're at a family member's house! I've ordered takeout multiple times from here and the food is always delicious to satisfy the classic Italian craving. My usual: tricolore salad with the oil and garlic pasta (forgetting the name lol forgive me). It comes with garlic bread, plenty of chili flakes etc. Sometimes I add on tiramisu. When going in person on a Sunday night, everyone was so friendly and helped us out. Plenty of jokes to go around and plenty of encouragement to save room for dessert. The set up is a classic, old Italian decor look and feel. Food came out fast, they were quick to refill waters and make sure we had everything we needed. It's clearly a small business and that means it does run like a well-oiled machine but it wouldn't be what it is if it did! I personally love supporting restaurants like these, especially those in my area.

I used to live in the Village in the 90s & early 2000's. I ate there every week! Renato called me "paisana" & I called him " paisano" (loosely is a term of endearment for a fellow country person of same country). He was like a father figure to me. I know both Peter & Maria from frequenting the restaurant. I even had Easter dinner with them & their family at the restaurant. It was my favorite restaurant. I now live in Texas & miss going to the restaurant. To the folks who left a bad review, mainly because of service, I'm sorry. The Paisano was truly a great man with a very warm & friendly personality. His kids don't have his personality & never have but they are still nice people. I used to have a lot of fun with Maria at the restaurant, acting silly & all & she put up with me! She would even laugh! When I first met her, she was a bit standoffish to me. After frequenting the restaurant every week, she let her guard down & was really sweet & fun! We had fun! I was often stressed out when I lived in NYC, but after drinking some wine there, I would unwind & have a great time there! Both Peter & Maria are actually quite funny when they allow themselves to be! Piccolo Angolo was always a fun place to go to for me! The food was always great! Both of them know the recipes by heart! I hope both my friends read the reviews, good and bad. Guys, be yourselves! Y'all have great personalities & give the customers your humor! Y'all are FUN people! Let them see that side of you! I HATED seeing any bad review of Piccolo Angolo!

UPDATE: They are open for take-out and delivery and the food is just as amazing as dining in! There are also discounts on bottles of wine, which I highly recommend. Perfect, delicious, best-thing-I-ever-ate dinner that makes me glad I live where I do. The pomodoro sauce is SPECTACULAR! They could serve just that with bread and I would eat it. The ravioli are definitely homemade and, while the portions are smaller than most of the other things on the menu (everything else is huge), you will not go hungry! The meatballs are gigantic and so light and airy I don't know how they do it, and the lobster cannoloni (with vodka sauce) is my boyfriend's go-to. It's stuffed entirely with lobster. Recommendations from things I have personally eaten: lobster cannolloni, lasagna, ravioli, penne vodka, the pomodoro sauce, vodka sauce, arrabiatta sauce, tortellini, giant giant meatballs, and the caprese salad. I have never tried anything here I didn't like, and I love trying new food. You will not be disappointed. This place is my favorite Italian restaurant in the city and the people are so sweet. Great family-friendly vibe, though it is usually really noisy, just like it would if you went over an Italian family's house for Sunday dinner. I But I can't rave enough about the food!!!

Got to be the worst service in NYC, the waitress / host is a mess! They have turned down service everytime we try to go and the restaurant is EMPTY!!! I would not suggest this to my worst enemy! They need to just call it quits bc they make the experience horrible and unfortunately the food doesn't make up for it! The worst

So sad. WE LOVED RENATO and made it a monthly ritual to travel from the UES to Piccolo Angolo during it's hay day when my husband and I were dating. We always took our friends here and they loved it. After 10 years, we went tonight \--wanted a really special Labor Day weekend treat---with our daughters, wanting to show them a great restaurant we'd go to when we were dating. Unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. I do not think the daughter has any interest in running a restaurant. I'm sure it's very painful and perhaps she feels obligated, but this restaurant has a HUGE legacy. It doesn't take too much graciousness to bring in customers at a place that has such a great reputation. Our dining experience tonight was equivalent to eating at McDonald's. The waitress/owner was so not friendly and NEVER checked on us the entire evening. We had to ask the busboy for wine and bread. We couldn't get out of there fast enough. We had remembered fondly the sorbet in the lemons and had told our daughters about them, but because the service was SO BAD, we left and went to get gelato on the UES. Such a disappointing night. Won't ever return.

Disappointed by the food. Was expecting an awesome meal when I arrived based on the atmosphere. However- the Arabiatta was bereft of any flavor, the Tortolini was still slightly frozen on the inside and potentially microwaved, and the Guanciale was grey and not crispy at all. One would expect an Italian restaurant kitchen staff to be able to cook a pasta sauce that tastes better than Chef Boyardee's. This pasta ranks just below Delta's in-flight meal service. Wouldn't even take my goomah here. The waitress was lovely and the garlic bread at the start was a nice touch.

This was my worst experience in a restaurant. We ordered ravioli, prosciutto and melone and a chicken dish. A minute later we saw the some waiter opening the door leaving the restaurant only to return with an old melons in his hand and a bag of frozen ravioli on the other. The same waiter proceeded to remove the raviolis from the frozen bag with his bare hands and gave them to the chef. Disgusted I confronted the waiter who, red faced denied his action. I was livid. The indifferent owner failed to apologize and denied this disgusting action. At this moment my daughter returned from the bathroom and told me the kitchen and bathroom looked dirty and disgusting. Shame on this place!!!

This was recommend to me by a friend and it is a hidden gem! Every bit of the of a quaint, family owned & operated Italian restaurant. Every dish for our party of was delightful. The mussels, veal & gnocchi were astounding. I will definitely be back on my next trip to NYC.

First off, we showed up almost an hour after our reservation time and Pete (the owner) was incredibly understanding and accommodating. He got us a glass of wine and before we could finish them he had us seated and the staff are the same way in every aspect. Im speculating but this is probably because he treats his employees like he treats his customers and the result is a feeling that nothing they do is done without great care. Whoever the saucier is should be praised as a God, nothing that delicious should be legal. Thankyou Peter and everyone at Piccolo Angelo; just when I thought I couldn't be surprised you taught me that there is still room to expect something new and wonderfull in the world. Since our dinner (3 weeks ago) I keep catching myself looking for the opportunity to be in the neighborhood again. Can't wait. Kris Hansen

Home style Italian food in a cozy setting. Took my parents here and the staff were unbelievably friendly. Food was great, plentiful and tasty. But will be back as it felt like we were being hosted in their own home. A gem in the W.V.

If you're looking for an old school, authentic Italian place that actually takes reservations - look no further. Piccolo Angelo is cozy but perfect for groups if you're looking to do some serious eating. The portions are huge - three of us split the spaghetti and meatballs, penne vodka and muscles. Everything was amazing and even though I didn't actually eat the muscles (I don't eat seafood), I was able to enjoy the amazing sauce by drowning a loaf of bread in it. I walked out in a food/red wine coma but it was totally worth it. My friend visiting from the south was blown away by what real Italian tastes like.

Piccolo Angolo is the best place ever! It had good reviews on yelp, so I decided to try it out with my boyfriend for a Sunday night date. We made a reservation online, but you can just walk in. We were met with warmth, kindness, and delicious food! We had the Sunday special with two meatballs, which had to be like a pound each. Check the pictures on yelp. This could definitely serve two people, but we also ordered the gnocci bolognese, which I recommend. From the flowers on the table to lending us a phone charger, I have nothing but kind and delicious things to say about Piccolo Angolo. 5 stars!

Amazing place! Everyone is so friendly and like family! LOBSTER CANNELLONI! So much lobsterits ridiculous! So good GARLIC BREAD: phenomenal. Wish I had more. Chicken parmesan was good as expected! Gnocchi (stuffed with cheese) was so pillowy and chewy and delicious. You can DEF tell that the pasta is handmade. Cute little place and would definitely return. Thank you for the great experience!

Order the Ravioli, a bottle of wine, some salad, and avoid the vodka penne. I was really disappointed by the quality of the Italian food here because it has such a home-cooked style feel. I went here on a date and found myself disappointed by the food and the massive portion sizes for two... we were given two gigantic server platters of pasta for two people. The chairs and tables feel pretty cheap and not in an old school Italian kind of way. The servers feel friendly and like their families have worked there for generations, which was nice, but I will not return because the vodka penne was so incredibly generic tasting. Recommend coming here on a cold fall or winter night because there is no air conditioning (vs the summer where you will 100% guaranteed start sweating through your clothes).

Chicken is thin. Flavors are good but very thin. Portions not the largest so don't necessarily come expecting to get full. Best item on the menu is the rice in a ball. That simple appetizer is packed with flavor

There are those places that wrap you up in warmth, make you feel like you're at a friend's place you've known for years and you get whisked away in culinary goodness. That's this place! Honestly, the food to service was simply fantastic. It's a place that's relatively small (definitely make a reservation) but the energy is vivacious and energizing. I loved how the servers make you feel like you've been a regular even if it's your first time dining, which for us it was. My chicken dish was this amazing hybrid of chicken saltimbocca, francese and eggplant rollatini. It was thin, egg battered chicken topped with eggplant, prosciutto and mozzarella in a light tomato wine sauce. Literally melt in your mouth! Holy hell. Everyone's meals were large portions and equally delicious. We got a meatball for an appetizer as this thing was legit the size of a softball. So damn good. Wine selection was vast, obviously skewing heavy on the Italian red selection. I found them completely reasonable. A bottle of primitivo from Puglia was only $39. Super great! I can't wait to come back here. It was such a treat!

We LOVED this place ! We had an incredible dinner with friends here last night. The service was incredible - THANK YOU MARIA & FERNANDO Our starters & dinners were delicious especially our huge meatball appetizer and the Chicken Francaise & Lobster Cannelloni. The wine was excellent, too. But the best part?! The lively conversation with Maria and the friendly atmosphere make this restaurant a perfect night out in the West Village ! We're definitely coming back soon !!!

The first experience we had here immediately raised red flags, the Owner was so rude to us because we arrived 5 minutes before she opened and instead of welcoming us, she basically humiliated us. We only waited (outide) because the Opentable reservation required us to leave a cc and we would have been charged $25 pp if we cancelled. My husband and I thought we would give it another try tonite. I made a reservation, and left my cc # again (against my better judgment). We arrived on time and had to wait for the owner again to seat us, although there was a lovely young man who wanted to help. FYI the owner is the only person who takes the food orders - no one else! It was almost 30 minutes until SHE came over to FINALLY take our order. She seated some (regulars) after us, and took their orders during the time we waited. We never even received our wine, and after 45 minutes of complete annoyance, we thankfully got up and left. Not only did she NOT APOLOGIZE, but she actually got nasty. It is amazing how people do not take responsibility when they are wrong. This is no way to treat customers and run a business. I had a business for 10 years and never, ever, treated anyone without respect and gratefulness that they came into my shop. NYC is filed with wonderful restaurants - try them. BTW she is trying to charge my CC $50.00 by saying we never showed up for the reservation
