"This place in no way resembles a picnic. It’s in SOMA, there are no baskets, and the food is way better than sad pasta salad and soggy sandwiches. Maybe we’re just bad at picnics. The breakfast is good, especially the granola, and the hot lunch options change daily are a nice switch from the unfortunate salad bar you regularly resort to. They do a weekend brunch that is also worth checking out if you’re in the area." - Taylor Abrams

"Picnic on Third, a culinary cafe in San Francisco's SoMa neighborhood, is known for its fresh, daily-changing lunch offerings. It has been a staple among downtown office workers, offering handmade pasta, braised short ribs, and Moroccan-spiced roasted carrots. The cafe will close permanently later this summer due to health-related reasons linked to chef-owner Natalia Bushyager's rare immune system disorder." - Luke Tsai

Weekend brunch is the superstar of this place! The pancakes are beyond delicious. Distinctive fusion flavoured, and as healthy as you can get for a taste of decadence. This was by far one of the best brunch places in San Francisco. It’s located in Haye Valley! This was a complete bonus find of an area!!! Everything was just ‘right’ about this place. The servers were genuinely happy and you can tell with their description of the food! The vibe is ultra cool without being overbearing pretentious.

They do a different menu everyday. Kind of healthy. Tastes great. Fresh orange juice. Quick service. Definitely a go again place.

Different menu everyday which is always refreshing. Cute space where you can see the open kitchen.

Our almost go-to spot for a quick breakfast during the week. We like their granolas and breakfast sandwich.

Service is super friendly. They are very professional and take great care in preparing and serving the food which is most important to me. The meals aren't cheap but it's clear that they are using great quality products and put a lot of love and care into the food. The atmosphere is great they keep the dining area clean and tidy and it never seems too busy since mostly people grab and go. It's definitely not cheap but it's one of the better lunch spots in Soma if you want something healthy and trends homemade. Definitely recommend if you're in the area. This is a local business that deserves your support.

Fantastic little place for lunch in this neighborhood. Fresh delicious food is plated as you watch, and the friendly staff are as open to minor modifications as they can be. I had some delicious melt-in-your mouth braised pork belly, served on a generously balanced portion of vegetables. I believe the menu changes often -- daily? -- and that there's always a vegetarian option.

LOVE it - delicious, clean food that changes regularly for a fun twist, and wonderful helpful staff. We frequent Picnic throughout the week, but also use them regularly for office catering events and Natalia and the team are always incredibly helpful. We've also rented the restaurant space for private events and it's always a smashing success with great ambiance.

Hipster lunch spot featuring a rotating menu that is hit or miss depending on your tastes. The food is certainly better than a cafeteria's, but not presented especially well. You get the feeling that they're trying a little too hard with the decorations and place settings, but overall a great place to grab a quick bite to eat!
