Pico Bar & Grill

We hadn’t been here for a while and ordered our go-to favourite, mixed seafood grill. Was worried that quality may not have held up but needn’t have. In fact, it was better than ever - a massive platter of delicious fish and seafood cooked to perfection with a delicious BBQ style flavour. Service was great too and the house wine is always good and very reasonably priced.

While visiting London for the first time we were walking looking for a place to have supper. My wife had the Vegetable soup and side of fries and I had the Tagliatelle with Bolognese sauce, with a local cider. We both enjoyed our meals, in particular the fresh cut fries.

I was really hoping for better. Took about 20 minutes to get a chicken and rice tapas. No flavor. Chicken was cut with bone. Almost cut my mouth on the bone because I wasn't expecting it.

Pico is my go-to place for a reliable restaurant with a great menu and quality food. The Pico Pizzas are excellent value for money, and the tapas is tasty. The menu is very clear and concise, and there is a good mix of the nicer, expensive dishes, and some good solid dishes that work well for kids and more picky adults as well. I usually go for a decaf coffee as a digestif to finish off. Service is excellent and the tables are always well set. There is always a random football match on the TV as well, if you want to sit by yourself on a weekend and just relax with some drinks and tapas.

Fabulous restaurant under the railway arches at Vauxhall. You can hear the trains rumbling overhead but you soon forget about them. The staff were friendly, it did feel as though they were rushing you to get on with ordering, particularly between asking about dessert however they did it rush us to pay the bill and leave. Good range of food on the menu I am sure it would suit all tastes and the food was delicious. The dessert menu was like stepping back in time. Lovely atmosphere in the restaurant. Certainly worth a try if you are in the area.

My third and last time, unfortunately I don't know what happened to this restaurant. I've had very good service, quality food, but my last experience was not pleasant at all. Untrained staff, unfriendly…no friendliness at all…food to be desired! And finally, the worst espresso I've ever had...unfortunately, I won't be back!!

We regularly ate at Pico Bar & Grill when we lived in London a few years ago, and like most places we used to enjoy & frequent they're all still in business and still offer the same great food and service, and some like Picos have added outside wining and dining. Pico, a Portuguese restaurant and tapas bar, was very busy on Sunday evening. It's just a two minute walk from Vauxhall Station and has a number of Santander Cycle docking stations scattered nearby, always our favoured mode of transport. The menu hasn't changed a great deal, why change something that customers enjoy and that clearly works. Also the management is the same so the emphasis on good service runs through the heart of the business in the same way that the railway line runs above it, not that it detracts in anyway as the trains rattle by above. The garlic mushrooms to start with were a solid starter, nothing too flamboyant, the monkfish lightly cooked in chilli 🌶 was great and the duck breast in red wine sauce was cooked rare and just right. The Portuguese lager, Sagres, is very light and refreshing. A relaxing couple of hours, enjoying our meal and watching the world go by, as well as Jaguar Land Rover group cars passing on their way to and from the Wimbledon tennis dedicated hotel in Westminster 🎾 almost every couple of minutes or so. Great food 😋 and great service 👍 at Picos.

My new favorite bar in London! Loved Mark. Delicious pasta. They put flowers in our aperol Spritz!! 🥺❤️❤️

Beware, the tapas are not tiny saucer plate portions but rather medium sized Portuguese portions that are filling. I ordered 4 tapas, while not feeling too hungry and I had to recruit help from my husband and friend (after they finished their meals), in addition I had to take the rest home! These are the tapas I ordered: patatas bravas, octopus á gallega, chicken rice (Spanish style), Flamed Chouriço and Pesto tagliatelle pasta. The BEST was the octopus á gallega by far! Super friendly service and great environment!

We were staying at Park Plaza River Bank and this restaurant caught our eyes. There are a bar area and dining area and food was so good and price was very reasonable. I love Portuguese food, especially sardines! Great place to dine or have just a drink.

Perfectly amenable cafe/restaurant close to Vauxhall station. The cafe was crowded with football fans watching the Portugal match (Euro 2016) while the restaurant hosted a large hen party (in number - they weren't especially big people). We ate meatballs and rice, ham and garlic mushrooms. All adequate, served quickly. Nothing extraordinary. The dessert menu looked more promising. We didn't indulge this time but I wouldn't rule it out in future.

Called in on our way back to our hotel after a match at Twickenham. An unpretentious bar and grill, sited under the railway arches near Vauxhall. Huge portions for both starters and main course, meant we had no room for dessert. Nice food at a reasonable price.

I ordered two dishes.One for lamb and another for sausage pizza.Lamb tastes good but too much salt on pizza and I finished only half.The price is ok in London center but not advantaging any price-performance position.

Wonderful tapas resturant in Vauxhall area. The service was excellent and food was tremendous for the price. My family and I were staying at the Plaza on the River and decided to explore the neighborhood. The area is being built up quite a bit with new luxury apartments and our only complaint was the lack of resturants. That was until we found this Pico And Grill. All of the tapas that we had were great and for $65 we had quite the meal. I would recommend this place to anybody staying in the Vauxhall or South Lambeth area.

Came here with our family as a recommendation by the owner of the place we were staying at. We looked up reviews and saw that people mainly said great food, but bad service, so we kind of knew what to expect. When we arrived, the waiter seated us quickly and the restaurant wasn't full except in the front where people were enjoying drinks. We received our menus and were ready to order, so we called our waiter over. He started with drinks, but since we had 2 babies with us, we decided to decline drinks. He seemed annoyed, but cleared all the glasses except the water ones. Then he left for a bit and came back and asked if we wanted bread. We said yes without realizing it would cost 1 pound each. We didn't complain, but it was a little strange when he dropped off 2 loaves of cold sliced bread with a side of butter and whole olives and then proceeded to leave again without taking our order. There were 5 service people standing by the kitchen chatting, so we called our waiter over again and he told us to wait and then came over. We asked to split the check 3 ways, he asked the manager and then came back and said we couldn't. No reason why. We proceeded with our orders, descriptions are next to them... Grilled Cod (salty) Poached Cod (Salty, but cooked well. Lots of bones.) Pork Special (over cooked, needed a steak knife) Chicken Special (dry. The waiter didn't even know that there was a chicken special until we pointed to the sign.) Beef cubed dish (dry) All the food wasn't very good. Plus for ambiance and food selection. Maybe we picked all the wrong things?

OK - the location is in a row of Gay Bars, The atmosphere is less than exciting, the rumble of passing trains over head is a bit strange to get use to, the menu has everything form Steaks, fish, pizzas to tapas. but I love it. The Pizza's are great (you can share) and the fillet steak is the best I have had in London. And the greatest thing is you can always get a table (as it is so large) and it is very reasonable. I don't recommend the desserts as you will have holiday flash backs to your cheap package trip to the El Garve. If you love Portuguese, this is by far the best Portuguese in South London.

This place is great! Good quality food and full of Portuguese tucking into their grub. The location isn't the best, and is a little difficult to find, esp. in the dark! Don't let that stop you from visiting the railway arch restaurant... I went there with two friends and ordered 7 tapas, there was so much food on each tapas plate, we couldn't finish the food. The restaurant is large and you can hear the trains overhead, which is part of the atmosphere I guess...

Good value tapas place in Vauxhall. Not too many places to dine in this area so a good place if you live in the area and looking for a last minute meal.
