Dallas’s Top Brunch Spots | Eater

"While Pie 314 mostly serves pizza and Italian fare, brunch skews a bit more traditional, with Benedicts, biscuits, and bacon as the stars of the show. Biscuits are served alongside brisket (this is Texas after all) and sausage gravy, while the waffles are made with white cheddar before being topped with panko-crusted chicken tenders. Finish off the meal with a house-made cinnamon roll filled with liquid cheesecake and balance out the richness with the 24 Carrot cocktail, made with vodka, pineapple, carrot, lime, rosemary, and honey." - Vox Creative

Great food, drinks and service. The server was really friendly and attentive. I got the Margherita pizza and it was great. Its bug enough to share between two people if you're eating light (or want to take home leftovers. It reheats well in the oven the next day). If you're wanting a little more, I recommend sharing an appetizer or salad beforehand.

Castle Hills Famous Pizza Spot!! Popular amongst the locals at Castle Hills this place was packed on Saturday night with a busy bar, quick pizza service, and an overall good feel restaurant! We ended up sparking a conversation with a close table and ended up having such a good time! We were enjoying the food so much, I only got a pic of the appetizer- calamari- which is a MUST!! And our server also mentioned the brussel sprouts as being a fan favorite! The Mikey was also recommended but we were feeling the Margarita Pizza! Which was excellent and one we would highly recommend!! All in all this was a great atmosphere, awesome service and delicious food… all at a reasonable price!! We’ll be back!!

My family & I enjoyed our lunch at Pie 314. The short rib pappardelle was rich, tender, and perfectly coated in a creamy sauce — comfort food at its finest. My husband had the mushroom pizza & added pepperoni. It had a crispy, chewy crust and just the right balance of savory toppings. Quality ingredients, flavorful execution, and a relaxed setting — we’ll definitely be back.

Google
I love the pizza here but one of my family members ordered a pineapple pizza and literally got a cheese pizza with big chuncks of pineapple on it.... Also every time I order a normal cheese pizza, it always has a small slice missing. Im not sure if this kind of service happens only when you pick up to go because we never dined in.

Google
Food is not what it used to be here, at least not for.brunch. We use to go out of our way to drive here because the brunch was amazing. Not anymore. Gravy was watered down and cold. Potatoes tasted like they were coated in plastic. So disappointed. Probably won’t be coming back anytime soon. When you spend $50 on breakfast for 2 people you want it to be good. The only positive was the service which was good.

I recently dined at Pie 314 Everyday Eatery and had a solid 4-star experience. The service was great; our server was attentive, and everything came out relatively quickly, which was impressive. Most of the dishes were delicious, especially the pizzas. However, I did have a couple of minor issues—the calamari wasn't as great as I expected, and a few of the pizzas were slightly burnt. Despite these small setbacks, the overall experience was enjoyable, and I would definitely consider returning.

Recently went for Saturday dinner with my family of 3. Nice atmosphere, friendly and super polite staff. Food came very fast. We ordered bunch of food. My little one finished Why not salad and spaghetti with meatball pretty quick. My favorite dish from today’s dinner was a Spinach Artichoke Dip. A lot of garlic and a bit spicy but delicious

Google
The food, drinks and staff are awesome. It’s unfortunate that the owner is obviously taking the cheap route on maintenance and cleaning. The “white” cushion booth seats were so brown and disgusting that I didn’t want any part of my body touching them. To have so much filth so easily visible is very disappointing. He should be having a cleaning staff come in once a month. I can’t imagine what the kitchen looks like.

Yelp
I have been coming here for brunch for years, this is my go to spot for great food and a great deal! Service is attentive and everyone is super friendly and does not rush you so you can really take your time to enjoy your day with your friends or family, the patio has a wonderful ambience we always try to sit here if we can. Definitely always recommend especially since their brunch ends late!

Yelp
Stopped in here with my little. Amazing service and yummy food on a crowded Saturday night. The margarita pizza was better than the pepperoni!

Yelp
So my man has been raving about the wings from this place for a while, and I finally got the opportunity to try them this weekend!! I can honestly say that I've never had wings like this in my life!! They were HUGE, juicy, and somehow still crispy, despite being VERY sauced up!! The calabrese chili, roasted garlic, parmesan, and basil combo was so unique and DELICIOUS!! Super savory with the perfect amount of kick. I completely understand the hype now!! Absolutely LOVED THEM. Also, in addition to the wings as the appetizer, I got the chicken alfredo for my entree which was delightful! The sauce was creamy, the chicken was tender, and well-seasoned, and the portion was the perfect size! I was a bit skeptical when I saw the broccolinni, but everything worked together so well. Such a cute find, with fantastic food! We will absolutely be back!

Yelp
Friendly staff, fun decor, good food, and tasty mimosas with cheap refills. Love it. The patio has lots of comfortable picnic seating tables and heaters when it's cool out, so there's a good amount of seating inside and outside, as well as the bar.

Yelp
It's been 4-5 years since I've been back. My best friend and I use to come here, religiously. I mean..every weekend/brunch. Came back to visit Texas. Coming back to Pie for the pappardelle was in my " MUST " list. Unfortunately, this was the worst service we've encountered. We were waiting for things and having to go ask the bar for certain items, only to realize, the manager was the one who we evidently was asking for XYZ for. Not once but twice. The Pappardelle, hasn't changed prior to my move. It still tastes amazing, as before. They definitely did add more items to their menu though. A bit disappointed that I spoke highly about Pie.. only to be shot down with the service. We were all, the least bit happy.

Yelp
Went as a group of 7 for Mother's Day and was pleasantly surprised. Appeared to be family run. The quality of the food and drinks were excellent and the ambiance was stylish but casual (could dress up or down, but not extreme in either direction). The service was fantastic given how busy they were, including an outside graduation event happening on the patio. We were able to order drinks, food, and desserts in a reasonable time while still enjoying our company and conversation. Would certainly come again!

Gabriela R.

Yelp
Man o man the food , the service, the ambiance 10/10. Its a hidden gem. Its affordable and DELICIOUS. Everything is made from scratch every day. Ask for the cheese wood fire pizza and the cajun shrimp pasta

Yelp
I LOVE PIE!!! The workers are excellent and friendly, but the food is just as good! I love the shrooms pizza, which is perfect for any mushroom truffle lover. The pesto and prosciutto are also super delicious, and I love the fresh arugula on top! The decor inside is great, as you can come here casual and feel just fine, or you can come a little more dressed up and still fit in!

Yelp
How have I completely forgotten to review this place?? I go here allllll the time for about 3 years now since I moved to the area. FAN-TASTIC place. Awesome staff, awesome food, just awesome all around. And their hibiscus jalapeño margarita (como la flor) *chefs kiss* best drink EVER. Stop looking for places to eat. This is the one!
google avatar

Yelp
The relaxing casual atmosphere betrays the quality of the food. Excellent tagliatelle and everything else. The service was attentive but aggressive. Could've just been nerves. I would definitely recommend

Yelp
Celebrating a co-workers birthday-? Well then this is just the spot. Great variety-awesome appetizers and amazing service. Met up on a Thursday night and it was quite the delight- we ordered the goat cheese appetizer with bread- delicious, flavorful, zesty, creamy and smooth. I had the truffle mushroom pizza with sausage added- fantastic. One friend ordered a pasta dish and it looked so creamy and mouth-watering. Our other friend ordered the brussel sprout salad- looked super crispy and delicious. Loved our experience here- reasonable prices and tasty food!

Yelp
OTHER REVIEWS MUST BE FAKE!!! I had the Chicken Parmigiana and it was anything but Chicken Parmigiana!! The worst I've ever had. Their website's reviewers said great things including, "My stepfather was 100% Italian and I haven't had good Parma since he died 20 years ago." NO WAY!! The breading on the chicken was very salty (totally American style) and the sauce was nothing more than 'pink water"!!! Disgusting! The sauce was so thin it did not even coat the spaghetti and had absolutely NO flavor. You could not even taste if tomatoes were really used... and it was as though they opened an 8oz can of bland tomato paste and mixed it with a gallon of water. Pathetic. Look close at my photo - the sauce is so thin and watery it turns pink on top of the cheese - and in the lower left corner you can see the glistening of the amount of water used. When I posted on their website - it never showed up!?!? Filtering reviews on your own website is bad. Not happening on Yelp or Google!! My recommendation - go next door and eat at TBD Kitchen and have some pretty good Mexican food. Yelp
I hadn't been to Pie 314 in years and decided to visit for brunch. I had to write a review because the food was just as good now as it was then. That says a lot about a place. Pie 314 is nestled in the heart of the suburban Castle Hills neighborhood. The menu is just the right size and has something for everyone. Sometimes I want lunch during brunch hours, but a place may only serve brunch. Pie 314 offered both the brunch and lunch menu which is why I drove all the way there. My spouse and I split a Caesar salad, customized pizza, and the short rib pappardelle. You can't go wrong with either dish, but the short rib pasta is the star! The only thing I would recommend is that it is clearer which drinks are available and that drink specials are communicated before ordering. It's a family friendly environment and I recommend dining on a day with gorgeous weather for the patio.

Yelp
I'm not sure what happened with the cook time but the appetizer came out with the entree which wouldn't be a problem normally if it didn't take 20 minutes. Also the cheesecake took 11 minutes to come out but I didn't get why. I think I'll come back to try a pizza next time since that's what they're known for but I didn't really enjoy their wings. I was promised a kick and it just fell flat. Service was good, but the wait time for everything made the whole meal terrible.
google avatar

Yelp
Great environment and great food selections. The servers and bartender are great and "Como La Flor" is a delicious drink. Patio ambiance is shaded and you also have the open sun areas, as well as a pet area outside.

Sarah L.

Yelp
One of my favorites! Wings and spinach artichoke for starters! Then order the Short Rib Pappardelle warm and yummy every time. Great service and fun patio for the kids!
google avatar

Stephanie C.

Yelp
My sister kept telling me about this place and I finally got to try it. I'm not going to lie, my expectations weren't that high for some reason but I was really impressed. The drinks were delicious. We ordered the cómo la flor, the empress lemonade and the New York sour. They were all delicious! We ordered wings for the appetizer and they were a bit spicy but the flavor was good. We also got a pizza with just pepperoni and Italian sausage and it was delicious! We tried the cheesecake for dessert-it was good but I wouldn't say it's the best I've ever had(due to how they name the cheesecake). Service was great and we look forward to coming back!
google avatar

Raquel M.

Yelp
Came on a weekday, got sat right away. The pie pizza & the carnevino pizza was good. The Cesar salad & spinach artichoke dip was not good. Cesar was plenty for 2 people to share. But the lettuce was not good, it was almost lukewarm. The dip was very soupy & it was served with some really really hard flatbread. Service wasn't the best. Parking was decent.

Yelp
Pizza and more love this place great atmosphere and food. This restaurant has outdoor and indoor dining. Very layback place and wonderful staff. A must go to.
google avatar

Jacob R.

Yelp
Our waitress was AMAZING and she saved our experience here. The food sounded great on the menu but the execution was just meh. I did love the chips but the patty melt was really like an Italian meatloaf sandwich- heavy Italian seasonings that just didn't work for what I was hoping for. We had to send some items back as they were either over or under cooked but our server was super nice.

LM P.

Yelp
We cannot understand all these good reviews. Maybe the pizzas are good but the other food items are beyond gross. We have eaten there 3 times, and keep hoping to like it. On each trip we have left at least one meal uneaten because it's so bad.
google avatar

Santanu S.

Yelp
In other restaurants, the waitstaff would warn me if certain items on the menu take an unusually long cooking time. Not this place. The place was scarcely occupied when I arrived. Most, if not all, the customers sat around the bar. Not to unnecessarily take up an entire table, I decided to sit at the bar as well. The bartender suggested a mimosa as refills were $1, so I opted for a pineapple mimosa. Since there are only four items on the brunch menu, I quickly ordered the cast iron pancake. As I have not had a mimosa in a long time, I forgot how I can lose track of time when sipping it. Half hour later, I realized that I had not gotten my food when customers who arrived after me had gotten theirs. I finished my remaining mimosa and asked for coffee. That is when the bartender commented the pancake takes a long time to make. It would not be until 45 minutes after I ordered did the pancakes arrive. The kitchen actually made a second order as a backup in case the first one was not made correctly. Even though steam was clearly evident, could not wait any longer to eat. This was the first time i had eaten pancakes with a spoon. Although I could not see any blueberries on top, they were in every spoonful. When the roof of my mouth was not stinging, I was tasting the blueberries in every bite. If I had waited another 15 minutes, I would have enjoyed eating the pancake.
google avatar

Yelp
They started out well but forgot to order my food when everyone else in the party had no issue. Mia was our server and she litterally wouldn't acknowledge the order was not placed. Forgot another person's drink order. Very disappointed.
google avatar

Elliott B.

Yelp
I read the not-so-hot reviews and I understand 'em, but this place has been batting 1,000 for me. Every time we've dined in or Door Dashed it, the food is excellent. For dine in, the service is friendly and pretty prompt. The vibe is good, and the patio is great. The food is the standout for me, though. That's what keeps me coming back. The brussel sprouts salad was on point with a generous serving size when we had it, and the short rib and blue cheese pie has got to be my favorite thing on the menu. It. Is. AWESOME. Get some!!
google avatar

Dia N.

Yelp
The food was really good. I'm looking at you Brussels sprouts! Service was decent but not great, but we did enjoyed a nice bruschetta with friends in a nice quiet place with nice atmosphere. The food stars were the Brussels sprouts, the blueberry ricotta skillet pancake (so good!), and the pizzas were all great.
google avatar

Paley W.

Yelp
The have fantastic calamari and good variety of drinks. I liked their "pies" too, just personal sized pizza. I got the mushroom pizza. I was a little disappointed that there wasn't much mushroom on my pizza. Only half of a slice was covered in mushroom. The rest of it if is just heavy cheese. I might have to try to a different one. Still a fun place though in a little adorable shopping district in middle of a neighborhood.

Yelp
Hands down amazing food! I've been here for brunch and had breakfast food. Brought my guy hear for lunch and he moaned the entire time! Ok, me too! We shared the carnivore pizza and these amazing wings! Almost too pretty to eat, I tell ya! He just kept saying "baby this is our new spot!" I won't argue cos we can definitely make this a thing.
google avatar

Melody V.

Yelp
Decent food + pies. They have a great beer selection! When we were there they practiced perfect social distancing protocol and had a hand sanitizer station outside. The house margs are good but ask for the mango
google avatar

Kristina W.

Yelp
Great food, amazing atmosphere. We will definitely be returning. It was pretty busy when we went, and the owner sat us and got us drinks, the waitress was very sweet.
google avatar

Jimmy P.

Yelp
I went there on a bet that they have the best cauliflower pizza dough on the planet. I despise that kind of dough and knew that they had other things on the menu in case I didn't like it. OMG, the best cauliflower pizza dough on the planet, for sure. I even asked the server to make sure the kitchen didn't make a mistake. Order of meatballs was perfect as well. This is my go to place for a healthy pizza. Service and atmosphere was great too.
google avatar

Yelp
First & foremost...I just wanted to say that I LOVE where this joint is located...Castle Hill! The homes around the plaza are absolutely beautiful. Anyway, I was introduced to this place while I was living in Texas & I will admit that their breakfast is pretty good. Definitely enjoyed the flavors what what we ordered. The only thing I was disappointed about was their flavored mimosas. The ones we ordered did not taste like the flavors we wanted. Service was a little on the slow side, but what place isn't slow when it's busy? Staff is nice. The server that attended to us was informative of the menu which is a good thing when you are dining at a place for the first time. This place is pretty roomy btw if you are dining with a bunch of people. They have indoor & outdoor seating. Gonna have to come back and try their lunch menu. I heard it was bomb!
google avatar

Yelp
Outstanding local venue with great food, unique drinks and an outstanding atmosphere!! The staff and service is always great!!

Yelp
Local place in castle hills with a great patio and amazing cocktails ! We went on a Friday night we had a bit of a wait for a table for two. So we went next door to tbd to have a drink while we waited. The hostess never placed our name on the list and said she would text us. We never got a text. After about 30 mins we went back over because she said it shouldn't be too long. She was not that apologetic but that was alright. We got seated outside. Love the huge dog friendly patio. Love the lights outside too. Our waitress was amazing wish I could remember her name. She started with the spinach artichoke dip. It was pretty good just wished it had bread with it instead of large crispy pita chips. We asked for bread and we're told we had to pay. Which is silly in my opinion. So we did however it took 15 mins and by then the dip was gone or it would have gotten cold. We ordered the short rib pasta which is really rich but delicious. We also got a Caesar salad which was very large and yummy. Then we spilt the carnivore pizza. This pizza was damn good. I would definitely come back again and try some more things out
google avatar

Cat N.

Yelp
I shared stuffed mushrooms and the pie pizza with a friend. I lovedddd the stuffed mushrooms, it was great! I could dip all kinds of bread with the sauce. The pie was also good! It was pepperoni, basil, truffle oil-so good! I would ask for over cooked next time for crisp.
google avatar

John J.

Yelp
I have been here a few times. Service has always been very good. They have a great bar for all your adult beverage needs! The food is always very fresh and unique. On this visit we didn't order a pizza and went with the Chicken Pot Pie and the Adult Spaghetti and Meatballs. The Chicken pot pie was very unique in presentation with a piece of crispy bread on top for the crust. The Spaghetti and meatballs were very good. Only thing missing was a slice of garlic bread to go with it. Fun place to visit and sit outside on the patio when the weather is nice!!

Ron S.

Yelp
The highlight of the evening was the Bombolini. The service was poor, the food was mediocre and the chairs were so uncomfortable that I wanted to leave. There were 6 of us. We ordered 3 appetizers and they were served one it a time. The first two entrees were served, then it was several minutes before the second were served. The last person got their entree about ten minuttes after the first people were served. The salad was served after the entree. My chicken was dry and overcooked. The cheesecake was dry and almost inedible. The place was almost empty so no one was overworked.

Yelp
Update 8/31/21 - another birthday to celebrate together. Enjoyed a glass of beer and wine and our favorites. Seems like the Brussels were more fried than last we tried, but still was tasty. Calamari was spicy and good, meatballs and pizza were great. Service was great. Glad to be back. . The best birthday ever!! From start to finish they didn't disappoint. Anna was a terrific server, and patient with our group. Zach and another person helped to deliver the pizzas. We had apps, salad and pizza. Several bottles of wine too :). Music was perfect for us as well. We will be back many times for 10/23/19 another great meal. Had the Brussels sprout salad, mushrooms and chicken parm. All done to perfection. Anna was an excellent host on a busy night and the entertainment (I think jis name is James ingrahm) helped make the experience even better. Wednesday nights this is the place to be! We plan to come as frequently as we

Yelp
Terrible food. Last few months this place has gone down hill! Really disappointing how bad the food was at our last visit.
google avatar

Christy S.

Yelp
So brought the fam and got a pizza for the kiddo while we munched on the spinach artichoke dip. Or should I say tried to munch. The 'crisps' were so hard it made it hard to eat. But that aside, the dip was like a milky nasty concoction with hard to find spinach or artichoke. It made me nauseous. Let the kiddo finish and just left. Disappointed.

Yelp
I recently came to Pie 3.14 a couple days ago, and I have to say it was an absolute delight from start to finish. From the moment I walked in, the aroma of freshly baked pizza filled the air, immediately whetting my appetite. The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, making me feel right at home. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, perfect for a casual meal with friends or family. The restaurant had a lively atmosphere, and it was clear that it was a popular spot among locals in this area. I will say that it is more on the pricey side, but I still give it a 10/10!! It is still a great restaurant

Erica H.

Yelp
The food always TASTES delicious. My fiance and I have often dined at Pie 314. However, the last time we visited the cheesecake we ordered to-go tasted like garlic parmesan. Both slices that we ordered tasted this way (yes we like it that much..normally). We decided a few weeks after this incident to take my entire family to Pie 314 as we've had the cheesecake numerous times and this has never occurred prior, so we just decided to not order the cheesecake. However, this visit EVERY single person got food poisoning. 6 of us total, all ordering different meals. My Fiance specifically has been vomiting for 2 days now since eating this food. During this visit, our waiter also felt the need to comment to my 50 year old mother about hot sauce in beyonces BUTT HOLE- YES HE SAID THERE IS HOT SAUCE IN BEYONCES BUTTHOLE TO MY MOTHER- UNPROVOKED! So, no wonder we all not have food poisoning. The kitchen staff and waiters also aggressively argued over the food pick up counter to the point that my family was intensely watching as we thought they may get into a physical altercation. I wouldn't genuinely take a good look at your staff, the kitchen staff especially to make sure you are meeting health codes. I would also retrain your staff, and consider taking certain individuals off of the serving floor due to extreme health concerns.
google avatar

Zivanka G.

Yelp
Oh my gosh. This is a wonderful place to grab a pizza. We went for their anniversary and they had great happy hour specials as well as pizza specials. It will absolutely be another stop on our dine out list.
google avatar

Yelp
Great relaxed environment, attractive small intimate bar with local crowd. Tried 3 apps - stuffed mushrooms were killer Pizza - short rib, blue cheese, roasted onion and red pepper with balsamic drizzle - YUM! Sangria was good, COMO LA FLOR - see pic ,,, table had 4 ( how can you go wrong with a cocktail made from tequila with a frozen hibiscus ice cube with a slice of jalapeno on it!!!)

Yelp
We love the menu, quality/quantity of food and reasonable prices. We are so glad they're in our neighborhood!

Yelp
Busy Friday night. Have been to the Fairview location and always had good service so met up with some friends here. Walked in and hostess was in a daze. Not greeted and seemingly didn't know what she was doing. Asked about a table was told 30 minutes or eat outside now. Chose to wait, 5 minutes later a different hostess showed up and suddenly seated moments later (no one had left the restaurant) Restaurant overall was incredibly loud. Server was running around taking a ton of orders and probably helping more tables than he should have. He was nice but not overly friendly but really didn't have time to chit chat either from taking so many tables. Drinks were good, pappardelle pasta was way to thick but short ribs were nice. Spaghetti and meatballs were nice. Chicken tagliatelle the chicken was dry, flavorless, and tough. Pasta and sauce were great but the chicken needs work. Same issue at the other location. Twisted dough was a little undercooked and lacked flavor. Drinks were made nicely. Overall the location seemed very disorganized and like there was no captain to the ship. Yes it was busy, but it was very chaotic. Fix the chicken and chaos problem and this place would bump up a notch.

Yelp
Our favorite restaurant in the area! We've both dined-in and ordered takeout and they've never skipped a beat. There's a large shaded patio with fans and a dog-friendly turf corner facing the lake and park if you enjoy a breeze like we do. If you're a drinker: they have craft cocktails, a great whiskey selection, and $1 mimosa refills during brunch! So whatever you drink, it's a good place to have a few and relax. Food has always been well-seasoned and beautiful, with the crab cake benedict as a favorite, along with the goat cheese fondue and The Pie pizza. We can't wait to go back and try more of the menu (especially brunch!) and while I understand the comments about a hefty price tag, I think it's well justified in freshness, quality, and overall good craft food and drinks. We're huge fans and we haven't even tried them when they have live music!
