Came for a metal show. This is a two level venue -- Level 1: pie, drinks, seating Level 2: stage, bar, spacious back patio Got the bourbon chocolate pecan pie warmed up and it was delicious. Pie is served all night :) Earplugs were for sale at the bar, $1 a pair. All the staff were friendly. 100% will be coming back!

Had a great time here a few weeks ago. Had dinner with pie, and there was a great band playing upstairs.

Go for the meat pie, stay for the live entertainment! I saw a band called Ampliphobia there recently. Awesome show! Pie shop features the cream of the local indie music scene crop. The drinks aren't bad either!

Drove 10 hours from Michigan to see Crypt Sermon, Spellbook, and Scryclops here. Killer venue, super small, absolutely worth it and would make the drive again. Wish I'd tried the pie though, heard it's good.

The pies were great! I got the SMOG pie and after, I liked it so much I got the Strawberry Rhubarb! Both had a good crust and great filling eithiut being too dry. The SMOG had a great amount of meat and could come with a salad and the Strawberry Rhubarb was the right amount of tart and sweet. The ambiance is really nice and there are tables to eat inside too!

Worth looking for parking! Big variety of delicious pies! They even have a rooftop to hang out on, but it was closed around 2pm when we were there so we will have to pop in again sometimes.

We’ve probably eaten 50 of Pie Shop’s tasty, savory and wholesome ratatouille pies over the past ten years. Consistently delicious pies, and premium quality ingredients. This place is a real gem, and there is nothing like it. Pie shop has a wide variety of delicious flavors to suit every taste.

Small pie shop on H street with both sweet and savory pie options. The options are vast, so try every flavor. Walk up to the counter, order your pie, delivered either hot or room temp. Recommend trying if you are in the mood for a sweet treat.

Sweet spot to watch a local rock show. We grabbed two slices of pie, the blueberry pancake mix and apple crumb pie. The slices are large for $8 and we definitely had leftovers. The service was quick but would have loved to have them warm up our slices (they didn't ask but it was late). They have a good selection of records to purchase as well. Top bar section is great with great sound quality and a nice rooftop patio. Old fashion was a bit yuck but honestly it's more of a dive bar vibe so what do you expect. Prices were a bit higher than I guess i expected but overall great place to watch a show and get a slice of savory or sweet pie!

Love this place, minus the very loud rock music from upstairs. Sweet and savory pies are all delicious. I got the tofu curry pie and we got the berger cookie pie to share. We also brought friends here and got french toast, pecan, and strawberry rhubarb pie. Slices are huge in my opinion and the pies hit the spot!

Not very good. Obviously one of DCs most overrated dessert shops. Pie was tasteless and dry.

I never thought a slice of pie could momentarily stop time and make the angels sing, clouds part, and the sky turn into Starry Night. But Pie Shop's strawberry rhubarb pie left me feeling better than Van Gogh after checking himself into an asylum (too soon?). But seriously. Try this pie. It's just the right balance of tart and sweet and the crust is simply to die for. This is going to be my new go-to gift to bring to dinner parties, birthdays, park hangs, office events, and to eat while taking a bath. You get the point - it's versatile and a crowd pleaser. Thank you Pie Shop for the decent amount of savory and sweet vegan options - can't wait to try them all!

Came here for a bday. Watched the burlesque show which I hear happens once a quarter. It was very entertaining. The drinks were great. I had the Mezcal Last Word. It was a little pricey for the amount received in my cup. However it was very tasty. The servers were good. I had a nice bartender. The show was very entertaining. There was a good crowd there that night. Only complaint were the seats. Omg, my ass was killing me after sitting on those stools for the show lol. I had to get up and take a walk during intermission. Other than that great venue. I'd definitely go again.

Pie is super delish and was worth the drive/wait. Web site says they open at 11 but the worker forgot to u lock the door in time. He was very apologetic.

The $38.00 'traditional apple pie' my wife brought home - well, for that kind of cash I expected a side drink with gold flakes floating in it - was a disappointment at the very least. It looked great, very photogenic. Only problem was it was yesterday's pie (the shop's yesterday's pie) kept in a frig I guess for dementia-imbibed blue hairs like us.

I ordered via UberEats so maybe the in-person experience is better? As a lover of pies, I had high hopes for this place. I had the steak, mushroom, onion, and Gruyère. The seasoning had way too much pepper in it, the steak was tough, and the crust was just average. I hoped for a better experience with the chocolate peanut butter pie but it just didn't have a good taste. Which is sacrilegious considering that is my favorite salty/sweet combination of all time. It didn't have enough peanut butter flavor, and also tasted like maybe too much imitation vanilla? I haven't given up hope and will try it one more time so please don't fail me next time!

The pie is amazing at this place. I recommend the berry pie. But the best thing about this venue is that it gives young musicians a platform to share their art and message with an audience. So good to see young people creating their art and authentically feeling everything! The bartender makes a good strong drink and Hawk just radiates love and positive energy to everyone in the place . He's an amazing human being and an advocate for keeping DC the rooted as a strong community . He's like an oak tree with strong roots benefiting everyone with his presence. Love their pies and that they are locally owned. I always get the French toast pie and the Smog. Our favorite pie shop! Perfect for holidays too.

Holy crumbly homemade pie crust, Batman! This place is off the hook amazing! Came in for 2 pies to bring to a dinner party on recommendation from a local DC friend. The interior is very basic. The pies are anything BUT basic. We got a key lime pie that was truly the best I have ever tasted. Smooth and creamy while tangy and not too sweet. I could have eaten half of it by myself. But I was slowed down by the cookie crust pie drizzled with chocolate and filled with pecans. OMG OMG OMG. Incredible. I would eat here all the time if I lived in town! So yummy!!!

For the most part, good amount of seating and a great place to chill with friends after dinner. Three of my friends and I split two slices of pie ($7.70 each after tax) and here were our thoughts: * Berger Cookie Pie: We were initially really excited for this because of the shortbread cookie and vanilla buttermilk custard. It sounded extremely delicious! We decided to try this pie heated up. Unfortunately, the pie did not meet our expectations. The crust was pretty sad and soggy. Upon first bite, we didn't understand what the flavors of the pie were supposed to accomplish. * Key Lime Pie: Really strong key lime flavor and definitely for people with big sweet tooth's. Personally, it was way too much for me so I didn't have more than just a couple bites. However, the graham cracker crust was top notch. I'd be down to try the other pies they have if I come back! Each slice is very sharable with another person or it can also be enjoyed by yourself.

Neat small shop with music blasting. Line up, order, step aside and wait for your name. Pie flavors sell out fast! Per slice, $8 or $12 depending on savory vs sweet/dessert vs quiche. Whole pies available. Order online or walk-in. They update online live when flavors sell out. Little chalkboards on the wall menu are removed likewise. A couple tables, complimentary water. Got the Guinness steak pie and roasted apple cinnamon chess pie. Absolutely delicious and satisfying. Steak and veggies were perfectly cooked and seasoned with a bit of gravy-like sauce. They asked if I wanted the apple pie warmed up. I think the 2nd floor is used for music and shows. You can purchase tickets and look up who's playing on their site. Will need to visit again for their popular chicken dinner pie.

DC Pieshop has the best pie and is one of the premier venues to play at and to go see live bands of all genres. Top notch service and hospitality.

Desserts are my weakness. I had so many questions for the cashier because the options available looked so tasty. I settled on the Carmel French toast, I think. It was sweet but good for me. Smooth texture. Great pie crust. It tasted good warm or cold. It's not cheap but I would definitely try them again if I were in the area.

I really love this place. It's not just the food, which is FIRE. Honestly, I didn't know you could do this much with pie, and I love the creativity. But the venue upstairs and the awesome patio is such a gem. I really love that it's so close to where I live. DC needs more local gems like this! H Street used to have several spots like this, and the neighborhood really thrived on that unique culture. I really miss that, and The Pie Shop still holds true to that which I find comforting. They're committed to keeping that alive.

Not just great pie - this is one of the best music venues DC has to offer. Eclectic, always interesting artists play here, and they come here because Pie Shop maintains and attracts a respectful and fun atmosphere that's focused on the music and good times. I'm someone who often gets a little overstimulated at concerts and needs to take breaks; at Pie Shop my options are to a) go to the sizeable roof deck, where I can enjoy the smell of Maketto (located next door) wafting through the neighborhood, or b) enjoy some of the best pie I've ever had downstairs. Savory or sweet, whatever you need. Love this place!

Oh dear god, this pie was soooooo good! I ordered the BBQ Pulled Pork meat pie and it was heaven! Our neighborhood and an adjoining neighborhood have been bringing in food vendors and food trucks so we don't have to go to them to support small businesses during this difficult time. This past weekend we had the pleasure of The Pie Shop of northeast DC (formerly Dangerously Delicious Pies ("DDP")). When I saw that they were coming to our neighborhood, I looked them up and found they were at the same address as DDP so I had to ask when I picked up the pie. The person who brought the pies to our neighborhood explained to me what happened with the previous company. He assured me that many of the recipes are the same and the owners are still the same. He also mentioned that they have new pie flavors. This pie was absolute perfection. It had such a generous portion of meat to dough ratio. And the crust, oh my, it was awesome.

Not gonna lie, when I recommend this place I usually praise it as more of a music venue than a restaurant. Last time I went my savory slice was cold and the meat was tough. The dessert pies were fantastic however, and I highly recommend their chess pies. In terms of food, there's not a huge selection, and the menu online doesn't always have every pie in shop. However, it's a small cafe-type dining area so I'd understand the limited quantity served per day. Overall I think this is a great place to hang out and see a show!

Literally the best pie shop ever! Whether you are craving a late night slice or ordering entire pies for Thanksgiving, this is the spot! Highly recommend the Berger cookie pie or apple crumble.

Had an office event to tryout something new. We ordered a variety of pies. The pies were delicious, but we were missing a few pies and did not receive a refund.

I have tried this place few times before deciding to write a review. I really want to like this place since it's so close to where a live, unfortunately the pies here are not that great. The crust is dry and too salty, only good thing I can mention here is that the apple pie does have pretty fresh apples. I won't be getting any more pies from here.

Don't go there unless you want the best or want to become a pie addict! I adore their broccoli and cheddar and so will you!

Pie shop is one of the hidden gems in DC. You walk in and it's a very unassuming bakery that serves amazing pies. The smog or original chicken pie are my favorites. Every dessert pie I've had is fantastic. Upstairs is a music venue, bar, and awesome rooftop area. The service is always pleasant and the vibes are always fantastic.

I came here after eating at Maketto two doors down and I went to try their Caramel Apple Crumb pie and their Berger Cookie Pie. Due to social distancing, their restaurant is currently not allowing for dine in. So, when I walked up to the window thinking I could order directly from the person, but they said I had to order online. So to be honest this is a little annoying because I was wondering if they could just take my order and then just give it to me but I completely understand with what's going on. So, I went on their website, placed my orders online and within 20 minutes my order was ready. I chose not to get them warmed up because I was heading home. Overall, after tasting the pies, I would say the caramel apple crumb pie was my favorite of the two period to be honest I'm not sure I would order the other one again. I guess I was looking for more chocolate and something more. The staff was very friendly and they seem to be quite busy with some food couriers picking up orders. I think this place was formally called something else and I recall coming here before, but I can't remember. The next time I visit I'd certainly like to try their savory pies as the descriptions seem pretty good. I like how efficient they're ordering a system is and that they actually deliver and times like this, you try to avoid going out as much as you can and stay home. I live in Adams Morgan so this is a real treat to have this option of delivery. I know in the past that some of these restaurants would not deliver to our area, but I think it's because there hasn't been much traffic and there's a demand that they are now allowing this. Hopefully this continues when things go back to normal. Oh, and sorry about not taking pictures of the pie I was too excited and hungry and just dove in.

I've been coming to Pie Shop, which used to be Dangerously Delicious' DC location, forever. I truly can't figure out if this is a different shop or just a re-brand or why the name changed, so if anyone has an answer to that mystery please let me know. Their twitter says they've been around for a decade, but it's the same exact location as the previous Dangerously Delicious and I had Dangerously Delicious via a branded truck like two months ago...are they different? The same? Why can't I solve that mystery? The pies are all the same, with the exception of the Baltimore Bomb, which they just call a Berger Cookie, which...is the same delicious pie. All of their pies are delicious. In any case, a rose by any name, amirite? The Pie Shop is amazing. I recently ordered pick-up for a full pie and two slices. The savory slices come in a small tin that is inside of a larger/standard pie tin that contains your salad. So your salad stays separate and crisp and you can pop the pie in the oven for easy reheating! The full pie comes in a tin and a box so it's easy to transport, and they open the box in front of you before you leave so you can check that it's incredible looking. This step is critical because the pie vendor I used for my wedding in Denver didn't do this and I ended up with a bunch of pies that never set and my wedding had no dessert. Like...it's been years and I'm still salty that they did this for an event, and Pie Shop does it for a casual just because pie. That's how you do it! My personal faves are the strawberry rhubarb (tart and amazing), the Berger Cookie (so sweet and so good) and the BBQ pie. Their crust is perfection and I've yet to try a pie I didn't like.

What a cool place! A restaurant dedicated to sweet and savory pies, with the ambiance of a bar or late night music spot. We came here late on a weeknight and tried a slice of the apple pie, cookie pie, and berry pie. You can have them heat it up for you, which I definitely recommend. The apple was my favorite, and all the slices are huge.

Holy crap, these are good pies!! Paired with hard and classic rock, it's a match made in heaven. Staff is super friendly and can give good recs (So. Many. Options)! And while I initially thought $9 for a savory and $7 for a slice of sweet pie was a lot, it's totally reasonable (big portions, loads of meat, and comes with a side salad too!) PS this place is no longer affiliated with Dangerously Delicious (same owners, just a little different than pre-COVID)

Sweet and savory pies as far as the eye can see. Personally I did not have any of the sweet pies but I did have to slices of savory pies one was the smog and another was the pork (I can't recall the name). Both really solid slices, even if it was a little costly. Deff recommend checking this place out if you are in the area. Great staff and some pretty good food. A lot to try depending on what you'd like, but I say try em all!

OMG! I'm not a pie person, nor do I consider myself a fan of pecan pie, but our neighbors brought us a chocolate pecan pie. I was skeptical but gave it a try and it has changed my life lol. The taste, flavors, texture, and crust to pie to topping ratio is perfect. I'm definitely going to tell everyone to check them out and I will try them out as well! Sorry, not photo. Did not have a great experience. Was surprised, as my memory of this place was of a welcoming shop with great pies. I stopped in on Sunday afternoon about 4 PM. So, admittedly an off time. But the young man at the counter did not acknowledge my friend and me when we came in with so much as a nod. He was busy doing something on the back counter and took his time before he even turned our way. No one else was in the store. There was loud music blaring from the sound system, so loud that when he DID acknowledge me, I couldn't hear him speak. I asked whether they had a coconut pie, as one in the display case looked like it might be coconut. He just mutely shook his head. I could see the pie at the front of the case was apple, so I said I'd like an apple pie to go. He packaged it in a nice cardboard box and I paid. I was surprised at the $40 price tag for a pie, even if a homemade pi and given inflation. Seemed a LOT. Got the pie home, and it's pretty, but not the special treat I'd been expecting. It's one virtue was that it wasn't too sweet, as so many bakery pies are. But the crust was very dry and doughy, not flaky AT ALL. DIsappointing. And coupled with the less than welcoming behavior of the guy behind the counter - he didn't even say thank you, just handed me my credit card receipt and turned away - I don't think I'll be going back.

Pie forever!!!!!! Came in for a delicious bite before a Wednesday night show. Happy to know that the date night special :2 savory, 2 sweets and 2 drinks is still on! We picked out the chicken dinner, tofu curry, summer Berry and chocolate peanut butter chess. I love their crust. It's like heaven. The tofu curry was a little lacking in flavor, could have used more spice but has great big chunks of tofu and veggies. I appreciate the simple side salad and dressing on the side too, makes you feel better about eating so much pie for dinner. The chicken dinner pie was classic. The summer Berry was filled to the brim with peaches, strawberries and blueberries... Not too sweet, not too goopy. The chocolate peanut butter chess was very dense and rich. We ate outside on the rooftop patio which had ample seating and cute lights. We enjoyed the first act from the patio and finally scraped our pie filled bodies inside to see the headliners. Strangers that Clique were fun, but a bit one noted. Overall, a perfect date night. Worthwhile pies, cheap concert tickets ($12 each) and we will surely be back!!

an absolute Home run place to get pies... For a random night or for a holiday gathering... The bar and venue upstairs are killer and the staff are always the best... A must stop when in the neighborhood.

yeah. this is the place to meet a single guy running the counter at 11 PM, willing to chat about the outfit piece he thrifted while he scoops vanilla ice cream and gives helpful recommendations on where in the restaurant is best to charge your dying phone.

I haven't been in to grab a slice in a while but I'm just here to support one of my local faves on H St. Previously named as Dangerously Delicious Pies, Pie Shop seems to be same same when it comes to the pies. I don't care for the love music upstairs or about anything else - just the pies. So I'll keep this short. Come for the pies. Whether you like them or not, thanks for supporting them. Hopefully they stay in business long despite the pandemic hardships so I can have more pies for myself yum yum yummmm!!! My go-tos - chicken pot pie, or curry chicken pot pie, or one of the steak pies for savory. For sweet, def the French toast. Occasionally something else with chocolate, they're all good to me. Quiche was decent but more so as a backup if none of the savory pies I love are available.

Love this place. It's gone through some rebranding and name changes, but the pie is still delicious. Tip: Ask for whipped cream and it'll come in its own delicious container of yummy.

Very good savory and sweet pies! Had them again recently and we had both savory and sweet pies. We had the curry chicken and the steak savory pies. All were properly stuffed, very filling, and tasty. For sweet pies we tried the pumpkin and the French toast. The pumpkin was a solid pumpkin pie, though maybe nothing extraordinary about it. I might suggest they include a little whipped topping on the side. The French Toast pie was very sweet but very good and unique. I've also had the pancake-tasting pie before and recall it being very good. All in all I may like their sweet pies a little more than their savory pies, but I also have a bit of a sweet tooth. I'd order from them again.

Don't even think about going to the Pie Shop, unless you want to taste a little bit of Heaven! In fact the word on the street is that the Big Guy from behind the Pearly Gates comes down from time to time to taste their tantalizing delights! Truly their pies are all that, a bag of chips and TWELVE Snapples to go! However, there is a warning, be careful or you will become addicted as I am, but trust me, the addiction is worth it! Don't delay! Go TODAY! Enjoy it, I sure do each and every time!

I'm so confused by some of these reviews that I am forced to believe I caught The Pie Shop on a bad night. I am a baker, myself and have to say that I was utterly disappointed in my order tonight. I used Uber Eats to tend to a sugar craving, ordering a slice of Strawberry Rhubarb and Samoa. The Samoa tasted good, but the slice was missing half its crust bottom. :( That's just disappointing you know? The strawberry rhubarb had a sincerely floppy crust that lacked flavor (though I commend you on the filling). I chose not to eat the strawberry rhubarb because it wasn't worth the calories, honestly. The soggy crust reminded me of grocery store pie. Kind of ruined our evening as these slices aren't cheap! Hopefully one day I'll catch them on a better note. Covid times are hard, maybe they just need some time to get their sea legs back.

Amazing! Ordered the roasted apple cinnamon chest pie and the Samoa. Was unsure about the flavor of a pie around 10pm after it was probably sitting out all day but that wasn't an issue. The Samoa was unlike anything iv had. It wasn't a rush of sugar that gets too powerful after many bites. The different textures with the hard crust, smooth filling and coconut was like a cookie cheeecake pie. The apple chest pie was still warm when it arrived and it was just a comforting piece of pie. Each bite was like someone was giving me a warm hug. A nice traditional change from the Samoa. The only thing I can compare it to are those hand made pies in small beach towns where families buy a pie to stay at their beach house for the week and only experience a pie that good once a year. I asked for whipped cream on the side becaus on a google review someone complained about it being 8$ a slice with no whipped cream so someone commented back saying they offer it free of charge if requested. I wrote it in in my order and they ignored my request. If the pie wasn't as good that would've taken a star away.

I've been meaning to stop by this spot, so guess what...I finally did!! So this spot ( @pieshopdc ) specializes in...well...Pies!! They have savory pies like their Ratatouille Pie (with eggplant, yellow squash, zucchini, onions, peppers, garlic, fresh herbs all stewed in a zesty tomato sauce $9 a slice $40 for a whole pie), and sweet pies like their Strawberry Rhubarb Pie (fresh strawberries mixed with rhubarb $7 a slice, $36 for the whole pie). This spot Located at 1339 H St., N.E. Washington D.C., and on this day I copped 6 pies!! Hey I wanted to sample a variety of items at this specialty shop, and the slices range from$7-$9 sooo...6 pies it is!! First I snatched up 3 sweet pies, their Somoa cookie pie, their Mixed berry pie, and their Key lime pie all for $7 each. If you like coconut...get the Somoa!! Rich, creamy, chocolaty, decadent. Their Key lime pie was official!! Not too tart, not overly sweet. The mixed berry pie is an acquired taste, tart but the crust was decent. Ok so I also snatched up 3 savory pies. Their chicken pie (a grandiose pot pie), their Pamela's tofu curry pie (with a savory rice, and cooked tofu), and their Mumbo potato pie!?! That on had homefry style potatoes, and onions with a Mumbo sauce on it that had a spicy kick to it. Three chicken joint was delicious...GET IT!! That's it. The tofu joint was surprisingly tasty as well...fulfilling, and hearty!! The Mumbo joint was good...that kick made the difference!! Their whole pies range from $36-$40. Customer service was on point, I was greeted and my order was swiftly taken care of. Parking was ok, metered H street parking. I'm curious about their other pies...so I'm going back, and I suggest you give them a try. Great pies! I got a piece of the mixed berry and had it for dessert over the course of two nights because of how generous their slices are!

The staff is just fantastic. I was here just for a concert that's locAted upstairs. The concert didn't start yet, so I was talking to the guys downstairs. Joey (the guy that works downstairs) was so nice and understanding. He didn't treat me any different even though I initially came for something else. He was so professional and such a sweet guy that I just bought a chicken pot pie (something I usually don't eat) I appreciated his hospitality so much that I just wanted to support his business. Entrepreneur please take note that your staff can heavily influence your business. Thanks again Joey.
