Some of THE BEST QUESO I’ve ever had! Also tried the Nash Hot Chicken, steak, and chicken tacos. Surprised to say, the regular chicken was my favorite. Pickled veggies were on point. 👌

Amazing tacos. The birria and pastor tacos were my favorite. It's a tiny place, so don't expect to find good seating if busy.

Absolutely delicious street tacos! 🌮 I was blown away by the quality and taste of these tacos. We had the Al Pastor, Chorizo, Nashville Hot Chicken and the Pollo. Of all of these, we really loved the Al Pastor and the Nashville Hot Chicken. The flavours were oozing in the Al Pastor. Great taco place in Nashville! Shame I am just visiting Nashville, else this would have been a regular taco place for me. 💯 Went here twice during my 3 day Nashville trip! Plus, plenty of space to dine in. Absolutely recommended!!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Omg!!! I tried Pie Town tacos last night with my husband for the first time and they were excellent! We decided to stop because of the reviews in the Nashville Scene. The food did not disappoint at all. We were so full when we left. Fabi our host/server made the night she was super sweet and gave amazing customer service. We came as they were closing at the end of her shift and she treated us like we were her first customers of the day!!! 5 stars all around!!!

10 out of 10 all around!! The lady who took my order was soooo friendly! She greeted me with a smile as soon as I walked in. When I told her it was my first time there, she explained the whole entire menu to me. My food was delicious, hot and fresh. I had four tacos: fish, chicken, steak, and pork. They were all delicious and flavorful! They had some good music playing. The lady kept checking on me every few minutes. She was very pleasant and you can tell they care about providing a great experience . I can’t wait to go back!

Pie Town Tacos is a must try! It may be off the beaten path ( near City Winery) but worth finding for its tasty and very authentic Mexican food. You may get lucky and find street parking, but otherwise it's scan to pay. You'll walk in and place an order with the friendly staff, grab a beverage and find seating in the second building which has a covered outdoor vibe, or go through to the back for real outdoor patio seating- perfect for a nice day. It's a small menu. Instead of tacos I ordered the "make your own bowl" with black beans and rice, cojita cheese, some veges and I added chicken for the protein. It tasted authentic but I should have asked for some sour cream as it was a bit dry, even when mixed up. $8 bowl + $2.50 additional for protein. Not a bad price for lunch! They offer bottled beverages or soda fountain drinks, as well. I like the vibe and food here and will return to try the tacos. There is one restroom right past the soda fountain. It's spacious and clean but other patrons could be right outside the door . You won't accidentally stumble upon this restaurant but you should seek it out and enjoy all the authentic flavors!!

Solid spot for authentic tacos. Food - I tried every street taco and the Nashville hot chicken and fish taco as well as the green rice and the desserts. Overall I think the food is solid. I agree that it's authentic except for the Nash tacos. The meat is well made and juicy - large portions on the tacos. I will say this is a preference thing but I thought it was too much meat on the tacos which can make it dry when eating it especially since it's on a small tortilla. I think the birria tasted good but once again personal preference I like my birria tortillas to more cooked on the outside and less wet/floppy. Aside from that the tacos and birria taste good! Service - The staff is welcoming and polite. All smiles when you walk inside. Went during lunch time and it wasn't much of a wait. They don't take long to call you up for your food. Ambiance - there is an inside seating area that's cold and feels good if it's really hot out. I like the patio/deck area. Very normal place to enjoy a meal.

This made our list of places to try during our recent trip to Nashville. It was featured on an episode of Triple D and did not disappoint. We came in for an early lunch to try it out and ordered five different tacos. My favorite was the carne asada taco, but the Nashville hot chicken came in a very close second. We weren't hungry, around 10:30 a.m., but these tacos were packed with meat. If you are a big eater or coming in hungry, I could see five of these tacos going down easy because they are that tasty. Once you walk in, there's an open kitchen where you can order your food. There are a couple of barstool spots to eat in the main room, but there's also an indoor back area for dining. The back area is air-conditioned and very clean. There's paid parking right next door, but I'm sure there's street parking available if needed. I would definitely come back here during my next visit to Nashville!

One of my new favorite taco spots in the city! The guy who took our order was so friendly, and really enjoyed sharing with us their different menu items and how he suggested to order them. We ordered chips and queso, two chicken tacos, and two el pastor tacos, and everything was amazing. Since it was about 55 degrees and sunny, we were also able to still take advantage of their outside deck! Overall a great bite for such good prices. We can't wait to return.

There's a plethora of ya o options in Nashville and Pie Town Tacos is certainly in the upper echelon of that list. The menu is comprised of simple offerings but everything is done right from a quality and flavor standpoint. The Hot Chicken Taco is seriously elite. The perfect blend of crunchy spicy chicken along with the cooling slaw and pickles, it cannot be beat and should be ordered by the tray full. In addition to your hot chicken tacos do not walk away without ordering the queso.

Got takeout. When I arrived, my food was already ready! I got: - 2 carne asada tacos with onions but no cilantro: carne asada was dry, yikes! Not very flavorful either. - 1 chorizo taco with onions but no cilantro: flavorful and tasty, this was good. - sopapillas: these were small and had honey with powdered sugar on top. Not sure if they weren't super great because they were cold, but it wasn't very fluffy. Really pricey food, tacos were $4.25 and all that was on it was two tortillas, meat, and cilantro. That's how authentic Mexican tacos are but it was overpriced.

Walk in at 2pm. The room is empty. No other customers. "Be with you in a minute." I stand there for nearly 5 minutes before a group of 5 ladies enter. A man immediately steps out from behind the counter to start taking their orders. "Hey, wait a minute, man. I've been standing here for almost 5 minutes?" Guy immediately directs me to a self-pay screen behind me not previously mentioned while he takes everyone else's order. Food comes fast and hot, but the carne asada tacos are like 3 inches across with nothing but meat on them for $4 each. I spent $13 (2 tacos, 1coke) and walked away hungry and annoyed. Truthfully, not worth the walk from downtown.

For all the tacos I got, I did really enjoy each and every taco. Every bite was flavorful and I do recommend trying the tacos out here. There's both an authentic aspect of classic tacos (carne asada) but also a Nashville fusion (Hot Chicken / Hot Fish) The only caveat I would add: felt a rumbly stomach post meal. They can be a bit spicy!

Really obsessed with this place whenever I have a hankering for excellent Mexican street style tacos. I know they have other things on the menu, but the regular pollo/chicken street style taco is the stuff of my dreams and I've started over-ordering when I get takeout here so that I always have yummy leftovers. Tacos are all served on corn tortillas, topped with chopped white onion and cilantro, served with the perfect spicy-but-not-too-spicy salsa verde and some pickled veggies on the side. The queso is also amazing with made in-house tortilla chips. I would love to come in and try other things at some point but the sell/extreme awesomeness of that chicken taco really prevents me from being willing to get anything else when I come here. Friendly service, super cheap, easy parking - it's a win all around to eat here!

The best tacos I have had in Nashville! Super authentic and extremely flavorful. Service was quick and very friendly and everything on the order was perfect. Super casual covered out safe patio was a great place to eat on a beautiful Saturday in Nashville. I had the street tacos chicken and chorizo. Grab a fork as the tacos are stuffed full of goodness and you will not want to leave any on the plate

For my first visit to Pie Town Tacos, I ordered a Nashville-style hot chicken taco and a hot cauliflower taco. I was blown away by how spicy they were, and that's coming from a spicy food lover. The chicken was crispy and well breaded and the cauliflower was almost indistinguishable aside from a different texture. The slaw on top did a great job of balancing the heat. The street-style tacos themselves are deceivingly filling -- an order of two was perfect for lunch. The tortillas were delicious. I love the condensed menu and fast (and friendly!) service, which makes this a great spot for a quick lunch. Seating is somewhat limited, but we had no trouble finding a table for our group of 8 in the enclosed area behind the restaurant. There is also a sizable patio. I look forward to adding Pie Town Tacos lunch rotation!

For the location it's not all that worth it unfortunately. I had the chicken,pork, and steak street tacos and for me the steak was the only thing that was worth it. The staff were amazing and the outdoor eating area is awesome but then there's the homeless close by that ruin it. If your coming from Clarksville and going to the doctor appointment near it's worth it but to just come all the way from Clarksville for $3 tacos is not worth it unfortunately.

Seems like this is still one of Nashville's best kept secrets. Came to Pie Town Tacos for a quick lunch before our flight out of TN. Saw it on the Food Network right before our trip and figured we had to try it! Service was super fast and the worker explained the menu perfectly for us with recommendations. We ultimately got tacos: hot cauliflower, al pastor, chicken, and carne asada. All were delicious but the cauliflower and al pastor were definitely our faves. The hot cauliflower had a delicious slaw with pickle on it that really completed each bite. Heat level was perfect too. The al pastor tacos came with grilled pineapples which is the best combo you could ask for. Hoping to come back in the future to try one of their bowls. Definitely recommend Pie Town Tacos for quick/fantastic food that will not disappoint!

The tacos were DELICIOUS!!! The service was outstanding. And the Amiance /vibe gave hole in the wall (everybody knows the best food comes from the hole in the wall joints). The food looked so good I kinda forgot to take a picture of my food b4 I ate so...sorry

I saw this place on Driners, Drive ins and Dives and believed it would be good. However, what I ate was definitely not good. I ordered the steak nachos and it was not good. It lacked vibrant trimmings and flavor usually associated with Nachos. Additionally, the entire dish was very SALTY!!!!! I do not recommend this place!!!

4.5 I was dubious, too. *Another* taco joint? And, one that's not a truck? Located *where*? My radar was up. *But* I'd heard good things, I had an open afternoon and it was Friday in late Spring. I was willing to roll the dice. The joint is small-ish. It's bigger than it might look from the outside but it's still small. I parked on the street without issue (itself a victory) and walked inside. There's a small space to wait in and order and some space behind there to eat (in good weather). But if you're there at a peak time, you might feel uncomfortable. I was there by myself (without a crowd) and that's how I like it these days. Since there wasn't a line, I asked the fella behind the glass what they'd recommend. They gave me their suggestions, I acquiesced and we were on our way. I got my grub to go so I wouldn't have the awkward silence of sitting in an empty restaurant and eating while being watched by the people who made my food. Within an appropriate amount of time my food was ready and I hit the road back to my house. [Point of order: this review is 2.5 years old so the prices/info are out of date. For $2.50 a pop, I received four street taco-sized tacos. Knowing where I was at, I was pleased with that price. For more money, my mind might have changed. Additionally, at the time I ordered, there was an option to go bigger and get $4 tacos. I don't know if that option still exists. If money is an issue when it comes to street food (and having one, I think, is legitimate), know this.] I was EXTREMELY happy with how much flavor was packed into every bite of each taco. I enjoyed an asada, pollo, chorizo y pescado taco and each was seasoned, flavorful, distinct, and filling. Tacos are all over town these days and, by now, everyone has their go-to spot. In case you're open for putting a new player in the rotation, you could do much worse than Pie Town Tacos... just realize that enjoyment per price differentials may vary.

Such a great find. Walked off the beaten path and found this place in the way to Tennessee Beer Works. All fresh and made to order. So tasty and full of cilantro! Warm easy going staff. Clean and friendly. Tried the cauliflower taco with green rice. Light kick to it. He got the steak taco and was one of the best. Pretty cool and would go back again.... And again

Excellent street tacos! Their food truck was in town, so we had to give them a try. They were great! The Carne Asada (beef) taco was probably the highlight in terms of great flavor. Super tasty! The Hot Chicken taco was excellent, with great flavor and a good amount of heat. Not so spicy that it was overwhelming, but it certainly cleared my sinuses. The slaw and pickles added a nice touch. The Chorizo taco was also very good, with lots of flavor. The meat was a little on the dry side, but the taste more than made up for that. The Pollo (chicken) taco also had good flavor, though not as much as the other tacos. Chips & Queso also excellent, because of the queso of course. Great flavor. The tacos are all pretty simple, but the meats are tasty and they are very generous with the meat. The tacos are the typical street taco size, which is to say they are a little small. I could easily eat three or four of these tacos, which is great because that's a great excuse to order multiple flavors to try as many as possible!

We had their tacos at the Nashville New Year's Eve Bash and YUM! They had a food truck at the event and the tacos were so good we went back multiple times. Carne Asada were so tender and flavorful. Also tried the pork and chicken and they did not disappoint. Also not sure if this is relevant bc it was a food truck BUT they were by far the fastest to get our food out. They worked like a well oiled machine. The food came out hot and quick. Definitely recommend!

BEWARE! I suspect there is a serious scam going on with this business. I placed a simple order by stating, "Give me one of every taco." That's 8 tacos for the record. Minutes later, they produced 6 tacos but charged me for 8. You don't have to be a math expert to notice you've been shortchanged. But when I asked about my 2 missing tacos, they didn't check the digital receipt, they didn't seem to remember me ordering and paying for 8 tacos, and they just glared at me. How do you forget the guy who walked in 10 minutes earlier and said, "Give me one of everything!"? Or do you really not know how many tacos you have on your own menu? That's perhaps the most shocking part of it all, and the employees quickly changed the subject. What makes me suspect a scam is that I mentioned my experience to a friend, and they said the same thing happened to both them AND their girlfriend, charged for 4 tacos but only getting 3 followed by "the glare." Once is an accident. Twice is a coincidence. Three times is a fraud. I come from three generations of restaurateurs and the customer is always right, especially when the receipt proves it. Unfortunately, I was unable to convince them to produce my two missing tacos. I'm sure the Better Business Bureau will be very interested. Now, most angry patrons who endured such unfortunate behavior would vent by selecting 1 star on Yelp and writing a nasty post. But I believe the ratings should actually reflect the food at the restaurant and nothing more, so I'll give them 3 stars for quality. It's a quaint space in an old building that houses a small kitchen, with a cool detached box that serves as indoor dining, and an outdoor deck above that. The Nashville hot chicken taco is superior, crispy chicken in a mild but flavorful sauce. The hot catfish taco was good but less crispy. The al pastor is phenomenal with tender, slow-roasted pork belly. But I wish I had known it contained my nemesis cooked pineapple (this isn't mentioned on the menu). If you're not a fan of Hawaiian pizzas, you'll want to hold the pineapple. The chorizo taco was very flavorful, but the chicken and steak tacos were less impressive. I'll never know what the hot cauliflower taco nor the pescado tastes like because I didn't receive them. It's a hip space with small, affordable street tacos at a reasonable price considering how fully they're packed. I only wish I could promise you won't be the next victim of the taco scam.

The wife saw this on DDD and said we had to try it. I'm glad she did cause these tacos are awesome. I say the Carne asada is the best but the kids liked the chicken. Red sauce was good with just the right amount of spice but the Verde sauce was ON POINT!!! Don't miss this place!!

Very good street tacos. We stopped for lunch on our way out of town. We got in just before the crowds. It was a good thing as we needed to wait about 30 minutes after ordering to get our food. The tacos were nicely spiced. The tortillas were gently fried before being filled with grilled meat. I have the carne asada and pollo. The meat was tender and tasty. The tomatillo salsa was very tasty. The prices were reasonable. The toppings were fresh. The staff were friendly.

Coming from SoCal, I can confirm that these pass the street tacos test! If it's your first time here just order a bunch of tacos and share with friends! I ordered five tacos with chips and queso and it was just over $20... amazing deal! The hot chicken taco was great, but I liked the hot cauliflower taco better. Out of the four meat filled tacos my faves were the al pastor and the chorizo. Ummmm, get the queso it's delicious and just a tad spicy. The chips are house made, light, crispy and the perfect snack. Don't forget the red and green sauce. If you have to pick one, always go green! FYI - The hot chicken tacos are HOT... No joke!

First time going I ordered curbside. I ordered the carne asada taco and rice bowl with chicken. My husband ordered the cauliflower taco and tofu chorizo bowl. The cauliflower taco had pickled onions, cotija. The cauliflower was perfect. The taco had steak, onions, cilantro. The tofu chorizo bowl had good flavor and pickled veggies. The chicken bowl had green rice, black beans, chicken, cilantro and cotija cheese. It was ok nothing really special I'd probably go back to try other items.

Saw them on Triple D; had a stop over in Nashville, so added an extra day so we could try this place out. Was very yummy. Our table ordered two different bowls, 5 different tacos, Mexican potatoes and the cheese dip. My fav was the regular fish taco, my husband thought hot chicken, fish and beef were all great. Everyone liked the cheese dip and both bowls were super tasty. Worth the drive from Dallas.

I've seen reviews on this taco shop and it's less than a mile from my apartment so I decided I must try it ASAP. I ordered online and went in to pickup. The staff was super friendly and the place was extremely clean! As for tacos I got hot chicken, carne asada and al pastor. Loved all of them!! The hot chicken was definitely spicccyyyy. I like the touch of homemade pickles and the cotija cheese and slaw make this taco a little more unique than your typical Nashville hot tacos at other places. The carne asada (as you can see in my pic) was full of flavor and not dry like some places! Al pastor was probably my favorite just because I love pineapple on my pizza and tacos and love that the pineapple chunks were grilled too. The queso is thicccccccc which I personally LOVE, especially with their thin, seasoned chips. Overall, I don't think you can go wrong with any of the tacos, I will definitely try the chorizo and pescado next! Glad to have good street taco place that is fast, a great price, and delicious!

Awesome find! We were in town for a football game and went in just before closing. We weren't rushed and had enough time to eat in the cute little dining area. The staff was very friendly and helpful explaining the menu. We ordered both the Street & Nashville Style very pleased with our choices. The tacos seem small but they are filled with fresh ingredients the protein cooked to perfection. We enjoyed the Chips & Queso with added Chorizo, we took the leftover back to our room and reheated for a late night snack. Would recommend to anyone in the area to stop in.

Flavors are excellent and you can't beat the prices! We loved the hot chicken, hot fish, carne asada, Al Pastor. We are here on vacation but planning to have it again before we leave.

I love tacos, and this place is legit! I've been remorse about not having any good street tacos in Nashville recently (in my opinion) and then I saw this place come up. Initially I dismissed it because of the name and the fact that they are only open for lunch, but I was curious and actually got off work early today and figured I'd go check it out. It's a tiny place with no inside seating (go in, order, head out) but there is a small seating area adjacent to it if you want to eat there. The staff was friendly. The menu was small but with enough choices you didn't feel like something was lacking. I ordered the pollo, carne asada, and nashville hot cauliflower tacos with a side of green rice to go. It was a fast turn around and I only had to wait a few minutes before my order was up. I took it home to eat and was pleasantly surprised by the unexpected amazing smell coming from the bag. When I opened it up I was happy to see decent portions for $3 and $3.5 tacos. They are packed with filling! Let me tell you, each one of these tacos was so good. The flavor was incredible and they weren't dry so I didn't feel the need to smother them in salsa, although their tomatillo sauce was tasty! The green rice was amazing too! Full of flavor and not dry at all. Overall, this place won me over, I just wish they were open later since it will be very rare that I can go.

Yup you guessed it I went back again. This time was sooooo different and beyond amazing. Got a chance to meet Jason the owner who is not only the cutest old guy ever but the nicest. After having some problems with a previous order he definitely stepped in and turned it all around. As a person that frequents this place sometimes 2 or 3 times a week i couldnt be happier. The steak nachos are my go to but the tacos are definitely top tier, overstuffed with love this place will surely have you coming back for more. The staff is always very friendly and feels like family and its amazing how much love is packed into this small building. If you're new to Nashville just visiting or if you live down the street dont miss out on this place!

Na, no thank you. We paid $26.70 for three tiny steak tacos and one chorizo bowl and a Mexican Coca-Cola. My change should have been $3.30, but I suppose the cashier decided she wasn't giving out coin change (.30 cents) and instead she just kept it. Not cool. Although my husband said the steak tacos were good - not great, but good, I did not care for my Potato and Chorizo Bowl at all. It tasted old and was very greasy. Since we went during lunch hour everything should have been fresh and hot, but it wasn't. The best part of my lunch was the Mexican Coca-Cola drink. I do not normally like Coca-Cola at all because it is way too acidic for my taste, but the Mexican Coca-Cola seems to be less acidic and tastes more like a Pepsi, so I liked it fine. In my opinion, the restaurant is located on the outskirts of the newer Sobro and Gulch part of Nashville and as such it isn't worth the time to go out of my way to visit this restaurant again, but I will say it definitely has adequate parking.

First let's talk about how Nashville really do not have a lot of places that have real street tacos. But Pie Town Tacos is definitely the real deal. The food is amazing, the price is great. The only thing that is missing is a good margarita! Can't wait to go back

Was walking around looking for a bathroom when I came across this small taco place , I'm glad I found it since we needed some munchies before we went drinking , as I walk in there's an adorable counter girl who answered all my questions about the food and took my order we ended up getting 12 chicken tacos and couple other ones, it's reasonably priced and I love helping out small businesses. The people who were working there were very nice since I'm a tourist lol had good conversations with me while I was waiting, all I have to say is go support them and grab some delicious tacos , one of the best local places I've been to since I've been in nashville , will defiantly come back when I visit again !:)

Fantastic tacos bursting with authentic flavor, cooked to perfection, delivered with just the right amount of heat! The dipping sauce and the salsa/pickled condiments available on the side just perfectly enhances and draws out even a fuller flavor. It was truly a delight to my taste buds and I found myself returning to counter to order another two tacos. Friendly staff, great vibe, and fast service. Went there for first time for taco week 2022 and see myself being a regular there!

After hearing about a new taco spot in town, the taco addict inside of me came out and I had to rush over on their grand opening, and I am so glad I did. When we arrived, there was ample parking even with a lunch rush - we waited about ten minutes in line with plenty of social distancing - a huge plus. We placed our orders and the staff was so kind and informational - shoutout to Maryanna and Leah for the great service! We ordered 3 different tacos - Pastor, Carne Asada, and Hot chicken. All 3 were absolutely amazing - but the hot chicken KNOCKED IT OUT of the park! Kudos to the chef, there was a perfect of amount of spice and kick to make me want to come back for more. Another plus is that they are already equipped with curbside pickup as well as delivery with both Grubhub and Postmates - so if you're stuck at home, you still have a chance to try them before the line is out the block. 5/5, can't wait to come back

Must visit! This is the coolest Taco place. I love their welcoming atmosphere and great dining spaces, both indoor and out. The tacos were made with love and attention. No skimping on the filling here. The salsa was flavorful and complimented the choices well. The queso has the best flavor and texture I have found in years. Delicious and worth the visit! Keep an eye out for their food truck. Anyone coming to town should consider this humble, welcoming, and wonderful restaurant! We were shocked there wasn't a line down the street as good as this hidden gem is.

We went to Pie Town Tacos on a Thursday and it was empty and I do not understand why! The food is fantastic, the staff are friendly, and the patio is great.

Just stopped in after seeing on Yelp. Very glad I did. Two people behind the counter were very friendly and gave me good recommendations. I had the Carne asada, the pork, and the fish . All very tasty and nice portions for street tacos. Had a Topo Chico which is a real good mineral water with lime. If I lived here, I would definitely stop in again. Very nice music playing and cool seating areas!! Definitely give this place a try!

I ate at the Pie Town tacos food truck while at Yazoo Brewery recently. The truck offers traditional street tacos, but also has a series of "Nashville hot" tacos, including chicken, fish, and cauliflower. I had the fish and cauliflower taco and a side of chips and queso. The "hot" tacos are very spicy (as advertised), come wrapped in a double tortilla, and are topped with slaw. The fried hot catfish taco was the standout for me, with crisp fish and an extra side of hot sauce/salsa for topping. The queso was white and creamy. I think this is a great new food truck offering in the Nashville area and would recommend it if you're looking for fresh Mexican food.
