NYC Sheriff Arrests Party Boat Operators Over Illegal Bar During Coronavirus Pandemic - Eater NY

"The NYC Sheriff’s office arrested the owners of party boat the Liberty Belle Saturday night after receiving complaints of people not social distancing on board and not wearing masks, the New York Times reports. Officers also found that the boat — which was carry more than 170 passengers — was reportedly operating an unlicensed bar." - Tanay Warerkar

Our group party boat experience was largely disappointing. Despite our tickets stating a 10 PM boarding time, the boat didn't depart until 12 AM, resulting in a two-hour delay. The party was also cut short, with music stopping abruptly at 1:31 AM, significantly earlier than the 2 AM end time printed on our tickets. While the concept of a party boat on the Hudson River with the NYC skyline as a backdrop is excellent – and indeed, the views were the highlight – the poor execution of timing and boarding made for a frustrating experience. We would not do this again.

Starship NYC was a great tour. Darius was a great tour guide with history and comedy. Enjoyed the 1 hr jaunt to see the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and Manhattan views without all the hustle and bustle.

My boat did not come on time. Waited for 2 hrs never came, there are no places to protect from the sun. I had to leave, and if the boat endured coming, I was on my way back home. Yes, the view looks beautiful. But I was dissapointed.

Came here for a little Taco and Tequila party cruise. We had fun. Drinks were nice and strong and the views were great once the clouds cleared up

We visited Pier 36 to catch a ferry tour to the Statue of Liberty. The parking is safe and close to the boat. The tour was great, and the guides were amazing. The guides were very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. They paused at the Statue of Liberty long enough for everyone on the tour to get photos and take it all. There is a lot of history in New York, and it was great to have the guides telling various stories along the way. If you have a chance to catch the ferry tour out of Pier 36, go for it!

Google
Pier 36 kinda hard to find, but the experience on the cruise line Majestic was really awesome. Getting to go out and see the statue of 🗽was amazing. If planning a trip out there, I would suggest and encourage you to use the Majestic cruise line.

Yelp
Pier 36 port is right next to Pier 42. Located on 299 South St, New York Pier 36 port dock several cruise ships. The pier is famous for their public swings. It's attach to a building and over looks the waters. There was about four large swings and they were taken at that time but you can get in line for a photo op or to get the experience. The pier is pretty dirty (the steps had bird feces on it, old drinks that were spilled on it) and at that time only one food cart was available. There is a porter potty available on the side of the building but I do not recommend it; the porter potty was smeared with feces. Yuck! Thank God Pier 42 is right next door within walking distance and have clean bathrooms for use. Manhattan bridge and Brooklyn bridge is very close to the pier. A lot of photo ops. I booked the Majestic cruise ship for a tour of the Statue of Liberty and the surrounding area. It was a nice experience to be on the waters and see everything.

Yelp
Mayor Adams' office pulled together a huge and varied event for small businesses. Everyone was helpful, they had table after table of guides advising people who want to start a business in NYC. There were speakers (they are really pushing these legalized cannabis opportunities btw) and workshops. Really a class act by everyone involved, very kind and patient people, especially considering how long a day it was. All the city agencies were there from DOB to FDNY to Parks, Law, even the Office of Nightlife (yes, it's a real thing, created by DeBlasio's administration). Always sign up for and read your NYC emails, this is how you learn about events like this.

Yelp
This review is for the Beyond King Tut exhibit with Yelp Elite. This pier has a large space for the immersive experience that I enjoyed. The Beyond King Tut utilized visual and auditory programming to immerse the viewer into the experience. Before I got to the Pier, I took the subway, and it took me a good 10 minutes walking to get to the pier. I went to the Yelp Elite event during post-sun don hours so, some of the areas walking towards the exhibit where without light. I made sure to keep my phone on my person and pay attention to the location I was headed towards. Outside of that, it was challengings difficult to walk in the dark. Plus, I was initially confused on how to get inside. The reason is that the pier has a gated area for NYFD, and I was hoping I didn't have to go through the gated area to reach the pier. Besides this, I found my way to the exhibition and back to the train station.

Yelp
This review is for the Van Gogh Exhibit and the convenience of getting to the pier. I took public transportation and used my phones GPS to guide me to the pier. From the time I stepped out of the train station, there were stickers on the ground of the Van Gogh exhibit and which way to walk. It took about 12 minutes as the blocks are really long, but I arrived safe & sound despite all of the sketchy characters in the area. Upon exiting the Van Gogh exhibition, there's a huge poster/mural on the back of the building in which you can see it from the D train and also if you were on a boat on the East River. There a vendor outside who's affiliated with the Van Gogh exhibit selling snacks upon exiting. Even without attending the exhibition, there is plenty of seating if you want to just hang out by the water. I have to do some research as I'm not quite sure what else is in the area, but now I'm curious. This was my first visit to pier 36.

Yelp
I recently bought tickets to the current Van Gogh Exhibit held at Pier 36 and was blown away at the transformation of the space. I've worked here on several occasions in the past as the on-site Athletic Trainer for AAU basketball tournaments and barely recognized it! The only thing that felt similar was the parking lot and the subtle door across from the Men's bathroom that read "Locker Room." The only thing I didn't like from the evening was that one of the door staff seemed a bit unprofessional. Towards the end of the evening, many were standing around in the large indoor entrance area waiting for their ubers, since it was pouring cats and dogs outside. While I recognize that is a safety hazard and is probably against fire code, during his attempts to clear the entrance he began talking to myself and fellow patrons almost as if we were children. Now I get his perspective, sometimes adults often act as such, but perhaps tone it down a notch as it felt a tad condescending. Aside from that, the exhibit seemed very well run. While there was certainly a good amount of people inside the venue, it never felt cramped. While I didn't partake in any drinking festivities, I really appreciated the speakeasy vibe of the casual bar they had set up. While inside, I completely forgot that it was rainstorm outside and that a hurricane was looming about. Note: I took public transportation here however be sure to bring cash if using the parking lot.

Yelp
Historically speaking, I can only recall about four different events that I have attended at the Pier 36 space with them being the debut of the Five Points Festival, the first and so far only LEGO NYC event, the Shoppe Object trade show and the Artexpo New York art presentation. Overall this sizable space is perfect for what I would call a mid-level expo and by that I mean something that doesn't require the size of a place like the Javits Center and also might be a little too large for the Metropolitan Pavilion to take up residence in. The space has an upstairs component to it which when I attended the last time was used for food service and lounge areas. I like this and think that it should remain the case. There was also a bar service downstairs but I wasn't participating in any of that. I won't go into the events though as each was unique in their own right. One was a toy event, one for younger kids, one for consumers stocking shops and the last for art fans and business people. I will admit that they offered plenty of options at each of these events to the attendees but its important to point out that not all of them were consumer events. As a member of the media, I usually attend everything on the press and media days to get the work done fast before going onto the next thing. The facility seems safe with numerous security at assorted positions and its kept very clean by wandering staff who's job it is to do that sorta thing and keeps it from looking ugh. Since its right on the water you can get some nice views by going outside but I don't recommend this in the deep winter. There is no complimentary WiFi service like we find some expos doing but that might be a case by case basis. I'd attend another affair here if one gets scheduled and I look into covering. I list the most topical ones to my readers on each of my websites #piercingmetal and #piercingken - Enjoy.

Yelp
When a friend told me about this pier, I didn't believe him. There is a place where you can swing and see an amazing view of city. If you want to surprise someone, this is the place to take him/her.

Yelp
So I realized that a long time ago this area was part of the NYC sanitation garage. While now the area has been revitalized and it is looking fabulous. I came in to pier 36 because i was just walking towards south street to meet up with friends from out of town and he though the area was perfect for photos of the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridge scenery. Believe me, i had never been here either and i live in NYC, so i was even more surprised than he was. I found a good moment to take some beautiful pics, as well as to clear my head, have lunch and meditate as the boats move up and down the river. Truly a good spot for a sunrise. I think this is a hidden spot outside the seaport area that deserves some love.

Yelp
NYC is just beautiful has so much to see and so much to do and definitely a lot of places to eat haha. It's turning into every Sunday trip that we are venturing out to explore our own hometown. This weekend we went by pier 35/36, they have built these metallic swings where you can sit relax and overlooking the beautiful waterfront and the iconic bridge, I can just imagine the view during the sunset must be priceless. The spot is also used for exercising.

Yelp
Great food and atmosphere!! This is a must eat in Fulshear, TX. The food is always great and consistent.

Yelp
The parking is ungodly expensive, but it's Manhattan so.... The Van Gogh exhibit is nice and I'm sure they have other interesting events in what is a pretty large space in downtown nyc.

Yelp
An amazing place for sports and recreation I am here for the first time but I was already impressed by this wonderful place such a voluminous view high ceilings and a rack of platforms Where we just appeared and we will play basketball very friendly staff and a convenient location it is incredible on the river and not far from the metro. Thanks a lot to the owner! And who built this building!

Yelp
It's a great place to visit. Lots of places to eat and many things to say. Stores on both levels and it's interesting to see the boat stocked there too especially the old boats The ships are quite huge and it's just a delight to see a part of our history there

Yelp
I attended the "Halloween Goes Hollywood" boat cruise this past Saturday at Pier 36. This was a big deal and was looking forward to this because I haven't celebrated Halloween in years, maybe six or seven. It was my first time at this Pier, and it was wonderful. Great boat (Cornucopia Majesty) and the security were helpful and informative. They have two Halloween boats departing from the same pier, and the guards at each step would let you know which direction to walk to your boat. The Cornucopia Majesty was a three tier boat that had two separate individual parties going on simultaneously. The people on the boat were extremely friendly, the boated departed a bit later than the ticket said they would, but that's quite already. The negatives were drinks were a bit ($14 per drink that was mostly ice) and they had food for sale, that wasn't exactly great, but its a boat, not a gourmet restaurant. Overall, Gordon Shumway (Alf), had a great time aboard the boat, meeting some nice people aboard the time, enjoyed the music that was played, and hopefully get to be aboard next Halloween.

Yelp
I really don't know how to review this. Took my kids on a boat ride from Liberty aqua tours, they get two stars. The pier and all the boats that are over there are a hot mess. They are so unorganized. As for the pier itself I say find another one to go to. It smells bad, it's an odd place I can't really describe, but only can say is, I will never be back. So many pier spots to visit instead. It's also not even easy to get to, depending on where your coming from. My kids enjoyed the ride, but I won't ever buy tickets from any boat company that port there again. I left some photos of our boat ride.

Yelp
Came here for tour de fat concert to see the naked and famous. The stage was inside but the sound system is pretty decent for the venue. It's just a large open space with some tents of beers and games you can play. Better sound system than pier 94.

Yelp
What a great and educational activity to avoid the cold! It's really fun and educational for ages 6 and up. A really worthwhile family or adult activity to learn about the fascinating history of King Tut! It really makes you want to get on a plane to Egypt to see the pyramids.

Yelp
So here it goes, On June 22 2021, 2 weeks ago, I made a reservation for 10 people, for a dinner cruise. On July 7th, late in the afternoon I get an UNPROFESSIONAL call from, Marvelly, (Marvell) to inform me that the cruise was cancelled, they are no longer doing the Thursday sail dinner cruise. I received the confirmation number and QR code, REALLY, Who does That. DON'T MAKE A RESERVATION TO SAIL WITH NYC SKYLINE. Find someone that is more reputable, thinks and considers their customers better. Her reply was oh, I understand, NO, YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND MARVELLY. MAD AS HELL.

Yelp
I attended NYE 2014 here for Oliver Heldens & Martin Garrix. Compared to another Pier party I've attended in the past, Pier 36 was a better venue. Swift entry and organized coat check lines (the attendant even mentioned that we should take a picture on our phones of our tickets in case they got lost, which seemed like a common issue there). The venue itself is clean, carpeted, and didn't have the grungy "warehouse" feel to it. The lighting system was visually appealing (I liked the giant disco ball) and the sound system was crystal clear. There were bathrooms indoors, but only for the 2nd tier VIPs. I had 1st tier VIP and we had access to the "heated" area, which had a trailer with bathrooms for women and porta-potties for men. Security didn't really scour through the crowds so there were a slew of wasted people here and there throughout our night. Bottled water and alcohol were highly priced, but it's New York after all... For 10 minutes before the countdown, they played Europe's "The Final Countdown" which totally threw off the night. (It was the original mix, not even an EDM remix!) Oh well. Happy New Year!

Nina M.

Yelp
My advice (and I've taken a previous harbor tour in NYC): don't take this one (Liberty Express). Don't let the huckster at South Ferry tell you what a great deal it is. You'll be piled onto a bus and wait there until it's full. Then you'll be taken to a remote location, far from other tourist areas, and wait in line for the boat to arrive. Then you'll wait until more buses arrive to fill the boat. We waited at least 90 minutes. The windows on the boat are opaque--very hard to see through. The bathrooms are untended. The one on our level didn't flush. You can imagine. The tour guide sat with his mic at a table and gave us about 10 minutes of commentary, then nothing for the rest of the hour. In any case, there were no outside speakers. Not worth the time, money or aggravation when there are other options.

Yelp
I was here for the UFEA viewing party sponsored by Heineken. Had a blast. This venue is huge. Not sure what else I can possibly say about the venue. The view is amazing. The water, the bridge. It was raining so it was a beautiful foggy view of the city. Check dem photos.

Yelp
Excellent basketball venue. In walking distance of my hotel. Great staff and facility is clean and well maintained. Rest rooms and locker room are kept clean. Basketball floors in good condition. Parking located outside. Standard NY parking prices for all day parking.

Yelp
Let me tell you! I came here last night to the Pandora Holiday party with Panic at the Disco, Fall Out Boy, CASH CASH and others! Amazing venue and event! SWAG was on point, bathrooms were clean and always being attended to and the bar was great!
google avatar

Carina C.

Yelp
This is definitely a large venue. It can comfortably accommodate 2,000 people. The walk from the train is stupid, so I'd recommend taking a cab here if you can. I was here for a Pandora Holiday concert this week. It was really dope and well organized. An open bar was briefly offered. People were encouraged to walk around to check out the place because it was heavily sponsored. I would not recommend this place for any EDM performances, specially if it is an "EDM" performance from Cash Cash (aka awful to begin with). The sound system could certainly use some improvement, but I was still able to highly enjoy music from my favorite bands: Panic! at the Disco & Fall Out Boy!!! :) It seemed like a polished up warehouse. I thought that the lighting in the venue was well done. I liked the set up. I would come back for a free event.

Yelp
Came here for Martin Garrix NYE and I was IMPRESSED!! This venue is hands down 10x better than Pier 94. - CLEAN: The place is so much cleaner than Pier 94. The floor is even carpeted. You really feel like you're inside an indoor music venue instead of a Pier/Warehouse (which is what Pier 94 feels like). - LIGHT PRODUCTION: I actually prefer the lighting here. I get it that Pier 94 has some amazing light production and I dig those lasers but Pier 36's lights absolutely blew my mind. There were multiple beams of colorful lights and lasers and did I mention that huge disco ball that shined in gold when Martin Garrix dropped Gold Skies? Oh damn if only you saw it (check out the pictures I uploaded). - SOUND SYSTEM: The speakers here are like 1000x better than Pier 94's shitty and cheap speakers. You hear everything perfectly and clearly, the lows that trembles the floor, the mids that you can sing along to, and the highs that spikes your hair. Everything is crystal clear. It's even better than some of the clubs I've been to. Other side notes: Porta potties are just dirty as usual. Bottled water that costs $6 to rip you off. Oh they actually sell LED pacifiers *wink wink. No securities watching the crowd so it's completely annoying when someone gets too wasted and start bumping into you; good side is you can sit on your fellow raver's shoulders (at Pier 94 they don't allow u to do that).
google avatar

Megan V.

Yelp
Pier 36 was not nearly as bad as everyone made it sound. While the venue lacks any kind of intimacy, it makes up for with comfort. The carpeted venue made the whole space feel a little bit like an expanded version of the finished basement in my childhood home, but, like, if Skrillex lived there. The VIP experience was very pleasant, with lines moving quickly, complimentary coat check and clean, indoor bathrooms topping the list of why it's worth it to spring for an upgrade. I saw GRiZ and Adventure Club there with my family on December 27th and we had a fantastic time. The sound wasn't perfect (I could talk at regular volume and hear perfectly during GRiZ) however they turned it up for Adventure Club and made up it with face melting decibel levels. PROS: - Pleasant VIP Experience - Short drink lines - Friendly staff and security - Lazers - Plenty of room to escape the crowd - Average water ($6) and cocktail prices ($14) CONS: - $10 ATM Fees - Less than stellar port-o-potties for GA - Inconsistent sound output Overall, probably not a venue I would actively seek out, but if an act I really enjoyed were slotted to headline, I would consider returning, with a VIP ticket, of course.

Yelp
I went here last week for the Pandora Holiday Concert. Location is a bit off the beaten path as it is under the FDR and the surrounding area is dark. The closest subway is about a 10 minute walk from Pier 36. The size of the venue is massive. There was plenty of space for all of the concert attendees along with VIP areas, multiple bars and kiosks promoting different sponsors. Staff was excellent as they kept the bathrooms clean and well stocked. Acoustics were good and there were no glitches as far as electricity or equipment go. Would come back if another event were to be held here.
google avatar

Janet B.

Yelp
I had a fantastic time at Pier 36 because I was there with my boyfriend on NYE for Armin Van Buuren. Best NYE ever!! The venue itself left much to be desired... First, it looked cheap and not at all like a venue suitable for #1 DJ in the world. VIP treatment was poor. There was a long line for what was supposed to be priority VIP admission; the general admission line looked like one to a massive music festival. Then there was the frigid 30-yard dash between the coat check tent and the actual entrance. Another 30-yard dash to use the port-a-potties on the other side... The open bar was more like free soda with a drop of alcohol. The acoustics were ok.. not as great as other venues I've seen Armin at. Considering everyone in there paid at least $200 for the event, the venue didn't live up to it. As I said though, I had an amazing time because NYE + Armin Van Buuren + boyfriend = magical :) regardless of the venue.
google avatar

Richard N.

Yelp
I went to Pier 36 for a concert on New Years Eve, and it was by far the best NYE experience I've had in NYC to date. The staff was very courteous and efficient in handing the crown and getting everyone inside without any issues. This is one of the few venues where I didn't have to wait on line for longer than 20 minutes to just get inside. The layout for the concert was also great and surprisingly favored those who had General Admission tickets vs. VIP. I was able to enjoy a clear and close view of the stage without dealing with any pushy bouncers asking to see a wristband or stamp on my hand. Please believe it, i will be attending any EDM concert they have at this venue.

Yelp
First time at Pier 36 and I had a blast! I attend to a Halloween Cruise Party and me and my husband had a blast last night. Never heard of Pier 36 and it's hidden but we manage to find our way there by other people who were also heading to our location. What can I say, it was a beautiful night. The skyline and the Statue of Liberty was the best view on the ship.

Yelp
Pier 36 was a pleasant surprise for me. I was expecting it to be like Pier 94 which was highly disappointing, but it's basically the opposite. The line to get in moved quickly and we barely had to wait. Security gave a thorough pat down, but wasn't overly aggressive by any means and they didn't make you throw away open cigarette containers they just checked inside of them. I also noticed like other reviewers there isn't much security walking around the venue, they let you mosh pretty hard and while I didn't see anyone super drunk I can imagine it wouldn't be difficult to be drunk and not get kicked out. I might have seen like one or two security guards the entire night. The sound system is infinitely better than the sound system at Pier 94, there's actually bass and while it's not one of the better systems I've heard it isn't bad at all. The light show is also pretty impressive and they really go nuts with the cryo cannons. I went to see Yellow Claw, Fetty Wap, 12th Planet, Slander, LNY TNZ, and Moksi and had a great time. Drinks as usual in NYC are ridiculously overpriced and the bar is cash only, but the bartenders are pretty solid and I never had to wait in line too long to get a drink. The bathrooms in the GA area seemed fine to me, but I only went once and the one I went into was average. Not too dirty, but it's a port-a-potty so I don't know what you're expecting. Coat check was also very efficient and reasonably priced. Overall this is a very nice and clean venue that seems to be run much better than Pier 94. I wouldn't hesitate to come here again for a show.

Yelp
Pier 36 is the best "secret" venue location that is in NEW YORK, well at least one of them. I was here not too long ago for the soccer event, UEFA Viewing party. It was the big showdown of two german teams and there were rowdy football fans everywhere, yes Football not american football. -There was Heineken holding it down as the sponsor here, I had some regular drinks and the Heineken light beers. The Venue is huge, it is known as BASKETBALL CITY when they are not throwing these huge parties here. I have only visited the place one other time to actually see Basketball being played here (a league game a friend of my dad coached in). - I love this place, I hope to come back here as many times as I can. I even saw a few other yelpers sprinkled in the crowd at the soccer event, that was really cool. Thanks again Heineken for the popcorn, beer, and all around good time on a saturday afternoon. I got to play foosball here, eat Bratwurst and some good tasting pretzels, celebrate the soccer goals and dance to the music after the game even ended- The party went on for a few more hours. Glad I stayed in the know and signed up for it and got to see the soccer match. The TV screens were huge and people started yelling and cheering when goals were scored, smoke and all kind of sounds came out of nowhere too to add to the atmosphere. What can I say, I go out alot to events in manhattan, Pier 36 is a spectacle though, a place to see. Have fun at your party here whatever it maybe, it could be another soccer match, could be Diplo and Cee-lo performing here for free again.

Yelp
Never knew of Pier 36 until I attended the Wizard World Comic Con and now I'm in love! It's on the east side right before the Houston Street exit of the FDR Drive and could easily be considered a hidden gem. The place is out of the way of the traffic and has good parking options, whether it be on the street or in their own parking lot. It's a large space inside that works wonderfully for conventions, and of course for recreational activities (it's nickname is 'basketball city' and when you look up you see all the hoops). The pier on the opposite side has a great view of the Manhattan Bridge and party boats regularly move in and out from the location. I went on the comic con cruise through lower Manhattan and by the Statue of Liberty and it was simply amazing! Bottom line here is to get excited if your next event is being held at Pier 36 because you are in for a good time and some great views.

Yelp
I will do my best to review the venue, not the event. I saw Armin Van Buuren for New Years Eve 2013 here...and let me say, I really like this venue. It's located down by the Seaport (a quick jaunt down the FDR if you are on the UES like I was). The space is huge, the set up was a big strange (the stage between two pillars when it should have been off to the far right) and a really nice area outside overlooking the Pier, with views of the statue of liberty. (Which was great, because that is how I was dressed that night!) The venue is really open, which allows for a pretty varied set up. I am so thrilled stars because I saw my favorite DJ (Armin Van Buuren) and two wonderful openers (Jerome Isma-Ae and Jochen Miller) and I was surrounded by about 6,000 of my closest friends. The crowd was perfect, and so was my evening. The fun didn't really start until after midnight, when Armin proved why he is #1 DJ in the world, and #2 in my heart. Stuff you want to know: Bathroom situation is a JOKE. One bathroom for each gender, line took like 30 minutes. There were portapotties outside, but it was like 27º. Later into the night, it was a welcome relief from the intense energy and sweat I worked up while dancing my little butt off. Security was minimal, coat check was $5 outside. We had open bar til midnight, not including red bull. After midnight, water was $5 and redbull was $6. I didn't buy any cocktails. Also, whoever the brohammer was that played before Jerome was an absolute toolbox. You have some nerve dropping the most bemoaned track loathed by the electronic community (hint: Madonna did not help the situation.) TL;DR: mostly a-ok. Ringing in 2013 with my love and best friends = A++

Yelp
I went here for a mini concert / beer fest. Acoustics weren't great. Venue was spacious, but standing only. So, if you're tired you sit on the floor. Bathrooms were big, so the waiting time was minimal. Staff was helpful. Doors are big, so entry and exit lines were moving swiftly.

Yelp
Very good for what it offers. Basketball courts filled with kids playing league games on weekends. Or used as a creative exhibit / event space (I haven't yet attended such). A welcome addition to the area, though I have to wonder what becomes of it, once East River Park (adjacent) is raised ten feet to counter flooding.

Yelp
I like this venue for raves, when compared to Pier 94. I came for Dillon Francis and Friends for Big Week NYC; the line to get in was quick. Similar to Pier 94, it's very large but if it's crowded it can be difficult to walk from left to the right. But I like that it's just one open floor space rather than divided into left/right sections. If it gets too hot, move to the back area by the exits to the portapotties outside. There are multiple bars so there's easy access to drinks and water. Street parking isn't too difficult to find, but I suggest you arrive earlier if you have to park. You need to buy parking before hand to park in the venue's parking lot.

Yelp
Great venue! one of the better venues in nyc in my opinion. It has a great set up and there is actually room to dance! plus the floor is carpeted so its pretty comfortable and doesn't really have the "warehouse" feel to it. I went here to see yellow claw and fetty wap and it was an amazing experience. Staff is very laid back and professional and did a great job at moving the line quickly. I think me and my friend waited no more than 15 minutes to get in with a large line in front of us. Sound system was great, clear sound but not deafening. Can't speak on the bar since I didn't order any drinks there but I hear it tends to be expensive. Overall I would strongly recommend this venue for any event and will definitely be coming back in the near future for an event. keep up the great work!

Yelp
Huge place! There is definitely room for a big party. A bit out of place and far from the trains. I came here for an event and they had big screens, and nice seats. Very high end. There are 2 floors and they also have a deck where you see the manhattan bridge.

Yelp
Saw Armin van Buuren here last night. Armin was amazing, but the venue is not suited for concerts: terrible acoustics because the wall just sucked up all the sound. It's a good place to pack in a ton of people, but not such a good place for listening to music.

Yelp
saw armin van buuren on new years. HUGE venue, plenty of space (its like a giant warehouse). Met some really awesome people there, including event staff. you can pretty much go as wild as you'd like in this place and nobody will bother you the smoking deck is enormous and has a great view. VIP treatment was really lame and not worth the extra money. the place is big enough that you dont need access to the mezzanine to get away from the raging crowd they advertised "open bar" but the wait for it was easily over an hour. There was no wait for the bar that wasnt free (i bet this was done on purpose) however this may not be the venue, but the event. Like everyone else said the acoustics were really bad. everything was echoing around. This place is also deeeep in the ghetto of lower east side. The closest subway stop is about 7 or 8 blocks away, and you have to walk through 3 different project communities to get there. If you are going alone or dont feel comfortable walking through the projects at night, id take a cab.

Yelp
Here for a birthday party on the Liberty Belle, a party boat from slip 2 at pier 36. First allow me to paint the picture. Its 1030 at night a long dark lonely NYC pier , very low light , not a soul except a shady character selling moonshine mixed with mango juice and a falafel cart with 1 man burning "chicken" on a stick. Ok get it, if your looking for shady as hell and a bit dangerous come early as we did and take your life in your own hands. Or be smart and show up 10 minutes before scheduled departure when the pier starts to come semi to life. , No worry the boat left 40 minutes late and this seems to be the norm according to some repeat party goes we chatted up. As for the boat itself the party rocked from 1230am until around 415 am when we docked. Music played, people danced, and laughed and shot cell phone videos all night. Both decks have bars that were packed start to finish. $7 for a short Guinness or Heineken, not to shabby for NYC. Shots around the same price, dropped $100 in 3 hours of parting so not any worse than hitting a local city bar. Where they fall dramatically short is the food. Even a starving Oliver Twist would not ask "Please sir may I have some more". The food was horrific, my nose was offended before I even dared to take a bite. The meatballs or ( Lack There Of meat ) .....balls were reprehensable loathsome tiny round brown balls in a pan of knockoff ragu style red gravy . There was what appeared to be fried chicken , though I would not wager on its origin. The cassava ( yuka ) tasted as bland as the Styrofoam plates it was served on. To be quite frank the only thing even remotely decent was the stale bread that came in a oversized cardboard box thrown on a table in the corner. So do not ....for the love of God go here hungry. Fill up on real food elsewhere, pregame a little and you will have a lot of fun. Just don't eat the food, I like all you Yelpers and I'm truly looking out for your best interest here.

Yelp
Nice and spacious (though it looks and smells like the Javits Center, so I felt like I was back at the diabetes convention instead of at a rave), sound was fairly good and lights were great, but they left hundreds of people standing out in the cold for over an hour before telling everyone to leave and come back because they wouldn't be starting for another 40 minutes. this was not announced--we simply overheard it. I don't know if that was the DJ's fault or the venue's, but it was incredibly cold and windy out and the reaction was really irresponsible, especially when people pay so much to be there

Yelp
Attended the "Trucks & Train" benefit during the NYC Wine & food Festival week of Food Network Events. Something like 2 dozen Food Trucks and a performance by Train. High marks for the AZ Food Truck and Big Gay Ice Cream truck. The Cupcake Truck was stingy, would not recommend them. I wasn't expecting much from Train and they blew away my thoughts with a great concert. All this plus benefitting the Food Bank and Share Our Strength!
