Pier 39 is always a lively spot, but visiting during Christmas makes it feel especially magical. The pier comes alive with festive lights, holiday décor, and a cheerful atmosphere that makes the whole experience feel like a celebration. Walking along the boardwalk with the bay on one side and the sparkling decorations all around is a blast—it’s the kind of place that really gets you into the holiday spirit. Shops and restaurants are decked out for the season, with plenty of spots to grab a bite, warm up with a drink, or pick up gifts. Street performers and live music add to the energy, making it feel like there’s always something happening. The lighting displays make for great photo opportunities, especially with the Bay Bridge or Alcatraz twinkling in the background. Even in the cooler winter air, it’s a fun place to linger—watching the sea lions, exploring the festive displays, and enjoying the holiday buzz. It does get busy, but that’s part of the charm, and the crowds seem to add to the sense of celebration rather than take away from it.

Google
It's a fun place to visit with your family or friends! It has a great selection of souvenir shops, specialty stores, snacks, and exciting rides. There was a magic performance for the kids, which looked like big fun. Just walking around at the pier among the crowd adds a great vibe to your day! And don't forget to see the sea otters basking in the sunshine at the end of the pier.

Google
Pier 39 is very touristy, but worth a short stop. From here you get a nice view of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz Island. I even saw sea lions “dancing” in the water and lots of seagulls flying around, which made the visit lively. It can be crowded and commercialized, but still a good spot to take photos and enjoy the bay atmosphere.

Google
The first place we visited on our trip to San Francisco after Ferry Building. Lively place with numerous shops selling souvenirs, seafood at restaurants, jewellery, trinkets and the like. View of sea lions. Visited it again for the Bay cruise. What I particularly liked were the stunning views- blue skies, silvery clouds and green waters. Alcatraz Island visible across. Love SF

Google
Aging yet charming tourist trap. Several eating options and lots of shops. The seals are fun to watch and hear. Bathrooms are disgusting, so be aware of that and bring your own hand wipes.

Google
Pier 39 is a must-visit spot for anyone in San Francisco. It’s full of shops, restaurants, and fun attractions. When we visited, we were lucky to catch a Navy event with a live sailor band performing — such a unique surprise! My daughter absolutely loved it. The atmosphere was lively and family-friendly. Great place to walk around, enjoy the view, and soak in the local vibe.

Google
Always Busy and Happy place, you will not find parking there but you will find pay parking around this place. If you wanna go on cruise then this will be the place. Lots of shops with different and interesting options. Clothes, magnets, decorations items, food places and lots of live performance around. Birds try to steal your food be careful but have fun with birds 😄

Google
Total tourist trap when it comes to food and shopping but a lot of fun to explore. I went with three other others and we had fun walking around and cruising the shops. There was a section of the pier dedicated to seal watching. The seals love to sunbathe in one corner Other and even wrestle each other!! Super cool and worth a visit.

Yelp
A touristy destination that everyone goes to when travelling to SF it seems. It's a pier so it's by the water. Came to see the sea lions that sleep on the docks and was not disappointed. I remember coming here as a kid and also loving the sealions. Walking around you'll find plenty of shops that sell all kinds of souvenirs and knick knacks. There's also a carousel that looked pretty nicely placed in the center of the shopping area. Don't forget to also try some seafood when you're here, as a lot of the restaurants were serving all kinds of seafood. I opted for some bread bowl clam chowder (an SF Pier classic) and butter clams at one of the restaurants overlooking the docks. Overall it was a fun experience walking around, checking out the stores and just people watching while I ate my food alone. People are also coming here to do the same thing you are, so be patient when you're there as I can see crowds getting larger during weekend peak hours.

Yelp
If your a tourist you have to come here. Tourists are obsessed with the sea lions here - I'm not exactly sure why - but even the local comedians are dumbfounded by the obsession. I guess the sea lions add a little flavor to the already flavorful spot. Big graphics of them are found throughout - like on the parking structure. They make some noises sometimes and I suppose they are cute. For the most part I leave them alone and they leave me alone. This is a very popular and crowded place. So get ready for that. Window shopping, the waterfront seafood restaurants, street preformers, Aquarium by the bay and so much more. Big paid parking structure is there with a pedestrian bridge that gets you to where you want to be without crossing traffic. Navigating the city with a rental car isn't the best idea though. A great place to spend an afternoon - plan for 2 hours here minimum and a few more hours to comfortably see everything and enjoy your time without rushing.

Yelp
We had so much fun at Pier 39, the weather was perfect! Our Goldendoodle puppy saw the barking sea lions for the first time and they barked back and forth lol! We even took him inside a photo booth, while they didn't turn out perfectly lol, we now have memories to cherish! The shops and restaurants are endless, I purchased a couple things from Aleenk Technologies and we had lunch at Pier Market restaurant! I would HIGHLY recommend visiting Pier 39, for breathtaking views and unique businesses! We parked on the 3rd floor at Pier 39 Parking Garage and it led straight to the Pedestrian Bridge Walkway, the access to Pier 39 shops and restaurants! We are looking forward to returning to check out The Flyer when I'm no longer pregnant! Maybe we'll even add a love lock to the Pier! ;-) SYOY!

Yelp
Super touristy but still worth seeing at least for a short time. There are some fun shops, restaurants and great views of the bay. Anyone visiting the city should stop by. It gets super crowded and busy in the afternoon.
google avatar

Yelp
One of your classic san francisco tourist traps but it delivers. Good views, great food options, lots a shopping and seal lions. A good spot for free entertainment. worth checking out as a tourist/visitor not as a local. Lots of good views of the bay

Yelp
Glad i had a chance to visit Pier 39 as I have not been back due to the issues i've read about that SF is facing but i was with 2 other women and felt safe enough. I know there's still some issues but most big cities have their bad areas. I was here on Monday April 1st and we walked around and it was a beautiful sunny day and vendors selling food and just all around a nice day.
google avatar

Sunil R.

Yelp
Yes this is touristy but it's also a lot of fun. There's some good food, fun things to do and a lot of people watching. Just be ready for throngs of people and traffic and parking being a challenge.
google avatar

Yelp
Nice tourist attraction and must see while in the SF Bay Area. A lot of great stores, restaurants, and sight seeing. Try some of the best clam chowders here. A lot of photo opportunities with wall art in the area. Great for families and children with a carousel at the end of the pier. There is a parking garage, lots, and nearby or street parking. Will be crowded during tourist season but enjoy your time!
google avatar

Kimberly T.

Yelp
Nice to play tourist in your own city on a sunny day. This place has variety of stores and restaurants. Not empty buildings. You can browse and pick up fun trinkets, grab a bite to eat at boudins for some clam chowder and French dip. For dessert we get some sugar mini-donuts. There are magnets, jewelry, seashells, socks, bath soaps and so much stores to take in. The views at the side and end of the pier looks out to Alvarez island. You can take pics with boats floating by and the bridges on the sides. You feel very safe and everyone is friendly.
google avatar

Nico Samneil S.

Yelp
You better get your wallet and card ready here! Lots of capitalism is going to entice you on this place! Only thing free here is the viewing of the sea lions! You also get a closer look of alcatraz here. See images and videoa for further information

Yelp
A must go to...if you're visiting. It is like our Seaport Village in SD. Giftshops, restaurants and cafes. There's an arcade, 2 story Merry-go-round, and other. It's also connected to the pier to watch the Sea Lions and even an Ocean themed Museum.
google avatar

Yelp
I thought it would be very crowded visiting Pier 39 on a Sunday but luckily there was a Juneteenth event nearby so less people went to Pier 39. Since there weren't that many people, we got to enjoy the place more. There are many restaurants, candy shofts, gift shops here. I ate at Boudin since I wanted my mom to try the famous Clam chowder. I wanted to try out a crepe restaurant but didn't have enough time. It was a pleasant surprise visiting Pier 39 because there are many things to check out. The decorations, stuff on the way are interesting. They also have free live performances if you get there at the right time. The most interesting thing for me at Pier 39 is the Sea Lion hanging spot. There were so many just laying on the board relaxing when we were there. I learned a ton about them reading the information boards. Definitely recommend checking Pier 39 out!

Yelp
My wife, 6-yo daughter, and I had a great time walking the pier on a Wednesday afternoon in early January and exploring the shops, including Trish's Mini Donuts, Trish's Chocolate, Sunglass Hut (where I purchased a couple pairs of sunglasses, buy-one-get-one-half-off, a decent value, with similar prices to other Sunglass Huts, and friendly, helpful service from the lady working there), and the rubber duck store (a bit too expensivefor rubber ducks, but expected for a store on the pier, and the shop owner was friendly). We ate at Bubba Gump's and rode the carousel, then took some great oceanside pictures at the end of the pier. The pier was crowded yet not "packed." We headed out around 5 p.m., just in time to catch the light/music show at the big Christmas tree.

Yelp
My mother-in-law is visiting from Vietnam so we decided to take her to SF. We booked tickets to go to Alcatraz and decided to check out the pier beforehand. We talked around window shopping looking at all the super touristy shops. We ate lunch at Boudin's then went to check out the sea lions. There were a ton of sea lions and they were extra vocal. We killed about an hour on the pier while waiting to go to Alcatraz. The area is super touristy but I was showing around a tourist so I guess thats ok. I personally think SF has better sites than pier 39 but i guess its worth a visit if you have never been before.
google avatar

Yelp
Offering a wide variety of different shops and restaurants. Lots of tourist related activities, such as cruises can be booked at Pier 39. Excellent viewpoint of The Rock as well as the sea lions.
google avatar

Yelp
How can't you love Pier 39? It is all about the sea lions, they are the stars here! Such an unique sight! Where else in the world you can have fun nature on one side, the joyous, noisy sea lions, the Pacific ocean and on the other side, you have beautiful views of San Francisco. Sure, there are cute shops around, and some touristy places, restaurants, a bit of everything. So, if you visit Fisherman's Warf, Pier 39 is a must! You can see Alcatraz from here and also Bay Bridge! The views are incredible! I honestly don't mind that this is touristy, there are people roaming around. It is a fun destination all year around! Each time I go to San Francisco I stop by, can't resist the cute seals!

Yelp
If you're only in town for a short stint and you want to get in as many landmarks, dining experiences, and as much souvenir shopping as possible (like us), then this is the place to go!! Reasonably priced garage parking, free entry onto the pier and the rest is up to you! The pier is huge with countless restaurants, photo ops, rides, souvenir shops, and excursion options to take. We we able to see Alcatraz, the beautiful San Francisco Bay, the Golden Gate Bridge and sea lions-- all from this one spot! Crowded yes, but not shoulder-to-shoulder or unpleasant. I'm so glad we decided to stop here, it was the perfect all-in-one place to visit with the limited amount of time we had!
google avatar

Yelp
Fun area You can easily spend a day in this area. It is right along the bay. Filled with restaurants, shops, travel information and other family fun. There is a carousel for kids. The aquarium on the bay. If you walk on the back side of the pier you can see the sea lions laying on the docks. Great seafood restaurants as well.
google avatar

Mina R.

Yelp
There are so many shops and restaurants here. But the smells that draw you in are the ones from the cookie shops and the the waffle cones at Ben and Jerry's. Or maybe it was just me wanting sweets. Lol After you make your way through the shopping center towards the end you will be able to see Alcatraz. Cant believe how close it really is to SF. Sadly we didn't have enough time to explore Alcatraz. Maybe next time. If you're in SF. Pier 39 is a great place to go.
google avatar

Yelp
Why does Pier 39 attract so many people? The rest of SF was empty on Memorial Sunday.

Yelp
Pier 39 is our regular hangout spot. This place is always fun to visit. Lots of food vendors, activities to do around here. We always park in paid parking spots and keep our car empty to avoid the theft that is pretty high in any high traffic area. We recently visited Pier 39 on their 45th anniversary. They had live music, drone show which was pretty nice to see. Prior to the drone show there were ample of food vendors and dj right at the entrance. A few videos here of the drone show. After the drone show we sat down and watched Lucy's "Lucy juggles" show. She was hilarious and super talented. And ofcourse we had the famous mini donuts. We realised we needed to take a picture of the donuts after we were done, thats how good it was. Definitely a regular go to place. But watch out to not leave anything visible in your car. Be careful people and have fun.

Yelp
I have been coming to Pier 39 for many years. There is always something to do here, whether it's shopping, eating, or doing fun activities. I recently returned to Pier 39 on Wednesday, 11/30/22. On my visit, I decided to go to: Bliss -Beautiful jewelry store with a great selection -Purchased two earrings for a total of $20 SF Carousel -Fun ride -Lasted from 3-5 minutes Wipeout Grill & Bar Restaurant -Tasty food and drinks Biscoff Coffee Corner -Delicious coffee beverages -Purchased a Biscoff Latte and it came with a free tiny Biscoff cookie 7D Experience -Fun laser blasting game with a roller coaster-style motion -One experience = $14 It was a fun-filled day for me. I will continue to return here whenever I visit San Francisco.

Yelp
Notes: (1) Street parking available a couple of blocks down if you're willing to walk, otherwise there are some parking lots near by that are at least $20. (2) There is a fence were people put love locks which was quite interesting. I honestly came here just to see the sea lions as we do not have that in the East Coast. To my surprise, this pier had a lot of shops and entertainment for everyone. There was an aquarium which looked pretty small, boat rides, unique shops and even a magic show! I must warn you though, everything is quite pricey. Overall, we spent about an hour walking around and looking at the different stores. The best part as mentioned, was looking at the sea lions lay on the docks!!

Yelp
Pier 39 is a great tourist attraction towards people from all around the world. It has dinner, lunch, desserts, souvenirs, and of course, people. It's the busiest place during weekends and I enjoyed every moment of it watching people move from one place to another. I got to buy ice cream and some chocolate. Pier 39 has a lot of seafood restaurants but it gets pricey. Great place to visit.
google avatar

Tyler L.

Yelp
Pier 39 is the most commercial part of Fisherman's Wharf. There are a ton of food and shopping options as well as entertainment for the whole family. There is a video arcade, a large carousel, and an aquarium. However, it is the typical stuff you can see at any boardwalk like Myrtle Beach or Atlantic City. For us, the biggest highlight was the large group of sea lions that you can see gathered near the waterfront. Another thing that we were impressed with were the great views from there as well. You can spot Alcatraz Island straight ahead.
google avatar

Kaylee T.

Yelp
100% recommend stopping here when in San Fran. Lots of fun little shops to go into for souvenirs, little rides for kids to go on, little food shops as well as a few bigger sit down restaurants. There was also a two story carousel. If tk you walk to the end of the pier you can see Alcatraz if remits a clear day as well as the Bay Bridge and many sea lions basking in the sun. We spent many hours here and could've easily spent more time exploring more shops. There is a parking garage nearby that is pretty pricey. It's 12/hr but restaurant will validate for one hour. We ended up paying 36 dollars for parking after a restaurant paid for one hour. Still average/fair pricing for the location of the parking garage.

Yelp
I have been going to pier 39 since I was a teenager 20 something years ago. It used to be the must go tourist area for San Francisco and is was fun to spend a day there. However in the recent year, the location really lost its glamor. The place if looked old, dated and depressing. There was some street performer and were entertaining and a time waster.
google avatar

Yelp
My cuzin came into town and we wanted to hang out so i said lets do Pier 39. We go there and luckily we found parking in the lot. and we decided to walk around. Wow sooo cool to see whats around. while we walking around We found sooo many seals i just wanna go there and squeeze and kiss them they r soooo cuteeee!!! and they had bunch of locks with right in front of the seals. I wanted to do one!! I think someone should be there sellings the locks cuz i didnt know to bring one. Then we found vendors selling my fave bacon hot dogssss which i only see in LA so cool it was here and they take appppple pay or venmo soo smart cuz theres vendors around here and they only take cash and i mentioned to them take venmo or apple pay cuz we don't always have cash and then we lose the opportunity to get it.
google avatar

Yelp
Got my 5600 steps for the day from walking the parking structure to here and back. Saw sea lions, walked around pier, took photos , went to different shops, rode the carousel, sipped a malt shake , licked a cone of ice cream, munched on a hot dog and walked more and ran up and down the musical stairs.
google avatar

Annie B.

Yelp
Although some of the locals I spoke with couldn't care less for Pier 39, I must say it is a great place for visitors! There are tons of restaurant options as well as fun thing to do with the family you can also take tours via buses around town, hop on a bay cruise or simply enjoy listening to the distinct sounds of the sea lions. There are two floors of this outdoor entertainment complex. You can also get some spectacular views of the San Francisco Bay while enjoying some fresh produce from a nearby vendor. Must visit if it's your first time in town!
google avatar

Holly C.

Yelp
It's ok to visit to walk around a little but it's very crowded so if you don't like crowds this is not the spot for you.. parking hard to find and it's pricey jf ya do
google avatar

Yelp
A good place to visit for tourist or if u want to have a good time with family and friends for views. Use to come here a lot every July 4th. Hoping the crime rate goes down in SF so people can walk freely again.

Yelp
You might have walked the pier, you might have walked the entire Fisherman's Wharf... but have you walked it with a Michi or Paloma in hand, on the sidewalk with an open container?! Well get out your wallets because now you can. I guess since COVID this is the new Fisherman's Wharf, right outside Pier 39 you can find several vendors with the same ingredients to make you a single or double it cost you $20-$30 depending on the drink. The double includes 2 cans of beer. Pier 39 is known for the famous seals that the docks draw each and every day, that there is plaques up around the seal area to commemorate them and learn about there flocking to the docks. You continue your walk and are able to take awesome pics of the water, the boats or the prison... the famous Alcatraz Island if you are lucky to get that in your background. Maybe even come with your significant other and place a lock on the railing or take a picture in front of the heart.... no? What about some good eats, drinks, sweeeets and Souvenirs then?! This is 2 stories, don't forget about the upstairs! If anything COVID is still free and with the amount of people here on the weekends, it is probably inevitable. If you need the restroom, there are green port-a-potties that are self cleaning and may take a while when your in a pinch, the bathrooms inside Pier 39 are a MAZE to get through upstairs.... just make sure to follow the sign, yes that sign and oh yes those signs to finally find the bathroom... or just wait in the longer lines downstairs... either way you will get into one or the other. This place has changed so much from when I lived in the Bay...but it was nice to be a tourist for a few hours and enjoy the sunny gorgeous weather that is rare. Definitely a must visit if you are in the area! Street vendors are back... while it is nothing like it use to be, most vendors are selling the same items... there are vendors nonetheless.

Yelp
Pier 39 is always a solid spot to bring folks who are visiting the city. This is definitely a tourist trap, but will still give you the comforting nostalgic vibes if you grew up in San Francisco. 7D Experience is a short, but fun, experience for ~5 minutes of fun (check Groupon to see if there are deals). Trish's Mini Donuts is also a must-try while here. Make sure to check out the piano stairs and the sea lions sunbathing! These are classics that can't be skipped when at Pier 39.

Yelp
The food was great, atmosphere was great the vibe was amazing . My second time going and I had a good time

Yelp
Our 3rd visit to SF, yet we had somehow missed this attraction earlier. It's definitely worth visiting! We stumbled upon, and leisurely strolled through, Pier 39 after our visit to Alcatraz Island. (We were there on a Wednesday around 1:30 pm). The pier has a bit of everything -- restaurants (we ate clam chowder in soup bowls), ice cream (triple caramel, thank you), shops, a carousel, boat tours, and views of the bay, Alcatraz, and SF's famous bridges. The pier is also home to the Aquarium of the Bay; you'll know that you're in the right place when you see the colorful sea lion statues in front (photo op!). The highlight of our stroll, however, was the large number (100?, late Aug 2022) of actual sea lions basking and frolicking in the sun on the docks. They're easy to find -- just follow their snorting sounds. The pier makes it easy to watch them with some bleachers and informational signs, but many people also just lined up along the fence to watch and take photos. Kudos to ownership/management of Pier 39 for providing a clean, safe, and enjoyable venue for locals, visitors, and sea lions to visit -- with a nice combination of free and to-pay-for options. Also note that there are clean restrooms in this area.

Yelp
Moved to sf a few months ago and just discovered pier 39. What a pleasant surprise! Didn't expect to see so many sea lions . Cuteness overload and such a good view of the city!

Yelp
I saw sea lions at Pier 39 and went into Sourdough. We went out for a walk at Pier 39 in San Francisco last time.

Yelp
It was good We can see seelion!! Futhermore, it good place to see the airshow hold in oct

Yelp
This is the place to soak in being a tourist and no shame to boot because everyone is likely doing what you're doing. But being a lookie -loo, buying cheesy souvenirs, and over eating is commonplace here. It's like we all join together and encourage pure gluttony but hey, when in Rome!!
google avatar

Yelp
A must anytime you visit SF. Yes, it's busy and it's touristy but that's what adds to its charm! It's a wondrous stop for literally anyone because there's something for everyone! They have gift shops, restaurants, coffee, snacks and a super random Christmas store that's open year round. They also have a store specially for left handed people, not that I am, but still kind of cool! There's also a giant carousel in the middle of the pier and sometimes they'll have kid shows playing. In addition to all food and shops there is also a staircase that plays music and an aquarium which I highly recommend for any age and it's worth the price which really isn't bad. They have public restrooms and the whole pier is fairly clean. The restaurants are really good and I would definitely suggest getting some mini donuts. The back of the pier has beautiful views of the water, Alcatraz, the bay bridge and the golden gate! There is also an area where sea lions gather to sun bathe. They are very easy to find, just follow the sound of their barks! It's a good time for the family, groups or dates and there's no right time to go, it's always worth a stop by.
google avatar

Yelp
It's a lot of fun to see the sea lion! There are so many, and i can see how much they weight by looking at the how much the wood patio going down by the water. There are so many shops, but we didn't really got chance to get in any of shop as our street parking hour is due soon. Too bad. Hope we could come back sometime later.

Yelp
This was my second time at the pier and I definitely wasn't let down. I'm not from the area, so I feed into the touristy areas of SF. This pier is a must have for tourists, since there are a ton of local businesses and gift shops. There's plenty of food and snack options, and fun things to do. I came on a weekday, so it wasn't too packed. The pier was busy, especially as evening neared, but it was not unbearable. Based off of other reviews I read, I would not recommend coming on a weekend because things will be too crowded to enjoy. I'm someone who gets very overstimulated easily, so I'm happy I came in the middle of the week. I loved looking through all of the shops, and the employees were very wonderful and educated me a lot on SF history. Additionally, I loved getting to sit outside and admire all of the seals for about half an hour. Most of them were taking a nap under the sun. It was relaxing and I enjoyed the view.

Yelp
Whether you're staying in San Fran for business or pleasure, it's a good move to stay close to Pier 39. You may think that it's crowded here and even during the pre-COVID summer months, it was easy to drive to Pier 39. There's a huge parking lot across the street and if you're staying at a hotel - you can just walk over here. It's a Great time for family, hanging out with friends, or coming here with a date. There are numerous places to eat, have a quick snack, site see, see a little bit of nature (the sea lions), shop for unique items. Oh, there's plenty of chocolate here as well. My favorites in no particular order are: - Trish's donuts, theres something about the crisp, cold Pacific Ocean air mixing with your piping hot small donut treat. - there's a knife shop, if you're into balisong (butterfly knives). Just remember that you need to put that in your check in luggage - the store for left handed people. They're known for being more musically and mathematically inclined - the Socks shop, there's something for everyone - the carousel is the centerpiece of Pier 39, how magical for a little kid - there's an everything Irish shop. The Irish are everywhere Like I said, it's a great place and I never miss coming here when I'm in town. Why stay at the Palace when you can stay close to Pier 39 and have a great time, during the day or every evening.

Yelp
I went to "Bubba Gumps" at Pier 39 with my family on a Saturday. Let me tell you the food that I ordered on a scale of one to ten ended up getting a two!!!!! I had stuffed shrimp with crab, jasmine rice which was gummy, garlic toasted bread and a lemonade. I won't be going back. Who ever made the stuffed shrimp it had too much garlic butter and Monterey jack cheese. The lemonade was great. Terrie W.

This place is almost synonymous to the wharf. I would recommend not to miss it if the goal is to be around this area anyway. There is plenty to do. There are a variety of shops to check out and tons of eateries to choose from (snacks or meals alike.) One of my favorites is watching the seals just lounge and have the life! Why and how they chose this place, who knows... There is parking across the street but can be pricey: $12/hr However! Some shops at Pier 39 will validate for up to 2 hours. It can get really crowded especially during the holidays, so plan accordingly...

Yelp
I was born and raised in the Bay Area, and recollected great memories of going to Pier 39 as a child. I recently went again to check out anything new to offer. TLDR; not much has changed, still a San Francisco classic gem. The breathtaking air from the seas quickly calms you when you taking in views of the bay with Golden Gate Bridge. There are phenomenal street performers singing and dancing to the comedy shows by the festival pier. The endless rows of seafood options is great though crowded. There are also ferry rides to choose from and nonstop scenes from every direction. At sunset, the views are immaculate with horizons shifting down on the Golden Gate Bridge. I highly recommend checking out the pier if you are looking for a solid night out.

Yelp
It is always a pleasure to go to the pier. I can check on how many love locks have been added since the last time I was there and I can see the seals resting along with all the other tourists. There are a lot of people and shops in the area. It is always good for me to go to the local tourist attractions because then if asked if I have been there I can say that I have been. The seals are loud and noisy and smell. They don't move a lot when I have been there. I like when they are moving around and are more active but not aggressive or making noise. There is often a crowd at the front and it can be very difficult to see. The weather was chilly when I went. I would always suggest wearing a jacket while there. It is also often quite breezy due to the ocean. My hair often gets messy when I am on the pier due to the wind.

Yelp
Pier 39 is the most touristy piers in SF. Full of shops and restaurants. The main pier that boats park for the tours you can take in the bay. Tons of people, even during COVID. Parking is available in the lots or streets. If you park streets, the meter pricing is tiered based on the time. After 12 pm, it is $7 per hour. The pier has a ton of good boat and bay views. Right down the way from Fisherman's Wharf.
