When I first heard the name, I thought it might be some upscale snoot box place. But to my surprise it was actually very nice, clean, and a very down to earth place to eat. It gave me vibes like one of my favorite seafood places in NY the Boil. It's set up with all this aquatic decor which is great. They also had a bar which was set up pretty good. The place wasn't that big, but I find that to be common with GREAT seafood places that start out thinking there just good. But soon find out they blow up so big they need way more space to accommodate there customer overflow. Yes I said it...I can see Pier 41 as one of those places very soon. The customer service was fantastic. Funny thing is there was only the bartender, he did everything. This place was popping that nite. But he never left us unattended. He was definitely on his job. Now let's get to what your really checking in for.... the food. The menu is not that extensive, not yet, but just wait. The food was absolutely delicious. Everything was so fresh. I'm surprised there were no signs posted about the food being brought in from the sea hours ago. Everything was cooked to perfection. The crab legs were tender and sweet. The shrimp were melt in your mouth tender. They had an appetizer called a crab cake corn dog. Sounds weird right...lol. There was no hotdogs or anything crazy like that. It was a crab cake on a stick. Real Crab Alert!!!!!!!!. Delicious.... we paired it with their delicious remoloude sauce. They have a delightful crab dip that they paired with toasted pretzels through the roof good. We enjoyed some Po'boys, seafood boils, and Gumbo. Everything was to perfection. If i had to critique anything about them...i would say...please put atleast a pinch of salt on everything. That's it... that is it. You want some great food, great drinks, great atmosphere to eat in with outstanding prices that are very budget friendly? Pier 41 is your place.

Google
Great seafood for a great value in a cozy restaurant and bar. The service was excellent. Taylor, our server was attentive and friendly. Even though she was crazy busy, she stopped at our table several times to make sure we had everything we needed. She’s a gem!

Google
Super cute local spot. Situated on a corner with ample parking. Inside its a cozy vibe with an impressive happy hour menu and very friendly staff! The raw oysters were delicious and the beer on tap was cold. I'm looking forward to trying everything else on the menu! Thanks again 😃

Google
Wow, what a great find! One of the best seafood platters we’ve ever had, anywhere. We shared it (two of us) and it was ample. Great, friendly staff, good beer and cocktails too. Wish we could come back soon. It traveling through and so glad we found this place. You can even see the delicious shrimp under everything else in the photo.

Google
We were looking for good seafood but a little cheaper than the "seaside" places. Not disappointed! Made happy hour and an extra special $1.00 each oysters. They were great. The fried and boiled seafood platters were great too. Our server, Ashley?? was awesome. We arrived at opening time and it got full fast. Very nice time, completely recommend Pier 41 in Mt Pleasant.

Google
Decent happy hour worth going to for cheap drinks and small plates. While we were there we saw a few people getting buckets of oysters and shucking themselves which looked like a better alternative to some of the items we tried. It is a small place with just a few tables and pretty much every seat was filled for happy hour. Nothing blew our mind but nothing disappointed us either.

Google
I can’t give enough praise to this restaurant. The service was incredible. Our waitress was so sweet and personable. The food was out of this world! We had oysters, edamame, crab dip, and crab legs. Everything that came out of that kitchen was cooked to perfection and their specials are a crazy great deal! I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants good seafood at good prices. Will go back!

Google
These folks must hate the Irish. I have been to Ireland a few times and the fish and chips destroyed what I got in Ireland. Great everything! The staff. The atmosphere. The food. All great. I will be back!

Yelp
Excellent oysters at Happy hour. Super fresh and $1 each! Flounder tacos were great. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive.

Yelp
This place has went downhill and fast. If you can't handle the Biden inflation as other restaurants in Mount Pleasant just close it down!! $24 bucks for a lobster roll on white bread. Please stop eating here so we can get a new place that will care for some short period of time.

Yelp
Update: Busy busy ...The seafood continues to be the best at this establishment. Happy hour is a great deal.

Yelp
I visited Pier 41 in Mount Pleasant, SC, and ordered about two dozen oysters, which were incredibly fresh and flavorful. The service was phenomenal, making for a great experience. It's a laid-back seafood shack that I would definitely visit again.

Meg J.

Yelp
We found Pier 41 because we wanted something close to our RV park. Hubs found this online and how we wish we'd found it sooner. We went during happy hour and had wonderful G and T's. We had the hot crab dip for an appetizer with the yummiest croutons EVER! I had the special, Seafood Pad Thai which was beyond deelicious!!! Hubby had the Low Country boil which he loved. We have been in the area for 4 days and are leaving tomorrow. Had we found Pier 41 earlier, we would have been repeat customers. Suffice it to say, Arturo was great and the food DEEElicious!!!!

Shannon S.

Yelp
Loved this raw bar! Fantastic raw oysters, crab, shrimp, and fried calamari. Very fresh!

Yelp
This was a great find off the busy path of the Mt. Pleasant/Charleston area. Pier 41 has some great oyster options throughout the week and amazing happy hour/daily specials. It's a small establishment so plan accordingly if you have a large party reservations are recommended. We started with a dozen oysters and tried the brisket/crab fried rice which seemed to be everyone's favorite. For dinner ever ordered the smash burger which was odd since it's a seafood place, I had the crab boil, smothered in garlic butter the crab was amazing! The drinks were ok, not the best but not the worst, service was excellent and I see no reason why would not be back after exploring our new area a bit more.

Matthew W.

Yelp
The good: the food was VERY good. Oysters were fresh, well and prepared. The fish and chips was some of the best fried fish I've ever had. Crab dip was on point. All was very good. The bad: dinner for 5 adults and 2 kids took 90 minutes. They were understaffed and slow. Additionally, when you've got 48 oysters split between 5 adults, bring more than 4 packages of crackers, one small cocktail sauce and one half portion of horseradish. Clearly we're sharing. The Ugly: When your sign next to the building is advertising $1 oysters until 6PM (and on the internet) , it better be until 6. Not 5, with a "oh, our sign is wrong"

Gina H.

Yelp
Pier 41 is hidden gem!! It's a little out of the regular tourist area, but they have $1 raw oysters from 3-5 pm! If you're anywhere near Mt Pleasant and love oysters... you must go. It's a quaint little place with a great vibe. The staff is friendly and upbeat. But the stars of the show are the oysters! My husband and I were looking for some raw oysters that wouldn't break the bank. Most of the touristy places were $3 and up each for oysters. So when we saw Pier 41's special happy hour on Facebook, we decided to go. Since they were so cheap, we expected tiny little oysters. But these were huge and tender. They were so fresh and silky smooth!! We had 4 dozen! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Yelp
Man, we totally dig this cool joint for some oysters on the half shell when we're hangin' in Mt. Pleasant, you know what I'm sayin'? Most of the year, they got these killer oyster specials goin' on. But guess what, dude? When I was there, no oyster special action. Bummer, right? But they, like, restarted the special just three days after I split town! Ah, well, next time, man! Anyway, even when those oysters ain't on sale, the prices won't bust your wallet. They also got a few local brews that are pretty groovy, although their list ain't, like, the size of a telephone book or anything. They could step up their beer game, for sure. Now, let's talk service, man. It's fast and friendly every time I've been. I usually park the Brewster Bus over at the KOA when I'm in town, and this joint is just a quick hop away. It's like, one of my go-to spots in Mt. Pleasant, no doubt about it!

Yelp
Darn, wish that they were open for lunch. Such a great gem of a restaurant to bring friends for dinner and drinks.

Yelp
Absolutely hate to write this as this was our favorite place for seafood, yummy Asian fusion specials and apps. We went for dinner after they opened back up after being closed for a little bit due to staffing issues and the menu was drastically smaller. All my favorites were gone... no ramen, no fried rice, no sushi... no special dishes. The food was mediocre at best. I always loved their lobster rolls because they have been delicious for years but the one I had this night had zero flavor! It was so sad to eat dinner there that night, my entire family got up from the table dumbfounded. This place use to be busy, we went on a Friday night at 7pm and it was DEAD! As in 2 ppl at the bar and we were the only table...I knew something was up the minute we walked in but I didn't want to accept that my favorite neighborhood restaurant may be seeing its last days. again, absolutely hate to write this but this place isn't what it used to be!

Peter S.

Yelp
The oyster, fish and chips, crab, and everything thank you for a great meal see you again. Peter

Yelp
This is difficult to write since this little neighborhood place has been a favorite in the past. The past few visits have gotten progressively worse. Tonight's meal was a complete disaster, could not say which was worse - food or service. Based on the "specials" section of Pier 41's website it clearly stated "April 6 Thursday special - half price crab legs." Upon arriving, our server informed us the special "changed" and that the half price was now Tuesday - despite what was offered on the website. Eventually, our server returned and said she would honor the half price deal since she was "GM" and she didn't know the special had changed. The half price deal was $20 for a pound of snow crab - no sides. The crab arrived cold - with actual ice crystals in some of the meat. My companions fried seafood plate tasted of stale cooking oil and she could not finish more than a bite. The actual meat in the "pound" of crab amounted to maybe 3 ounces with many of the legs hollow. We might have pointed this out (or ordered a second cocktail) if our server had returned. Our food was delivered by a kitchen staff who put the plates down and left. That's the last we saw of anyone until I waved another server over and asked for the check. That's when the real surprise happened: our check was for the full price, $40 for barely a mouthful of crab with a total bill of $72. I had to wait at the bar to get a correction on our check with our original server nowhere in sight. Between the ice cold crab, the rancid oil, and the lack of service the evening was a complete disappointment. After 2 prior bad experiences, there's no way we would ever return. Again, this is painful to report, because this used to be a great spot for seafood and reasonably priced drinks.

Yelp
Haven't been hear since before COVID (it was good then), but it seems totally different now. It was a Thursday evening at 6:30pm. The bar was completely empty. There were 3 tables occupied. We sat down and we're promptly brought menus. Then after 25 minutes with no one checking with us, no water-silverware-napkins and wait staff standing over by the kitchen - we decided to just leave rather than beg to be waited on. We didn't feel like taking a chance on the food at this point. It appears from recent reviews to be nothing like it used to be. Maybe under different management?

Yelp
Good food, good service, tasty crab dip (could use more pretzel bites), good lobster roll, fish tacos and cole slaw.

David S.

Yelp
Had dinner and drinks last night (June 16). New to the area, we're from Naples, FL, I wish I could drag this team down there....casual, fun, we had the low country boil...we'll be back!!!! Try it out, I think you'll enjoy it.

Yelp
Terrible service. Limp fries. They never seem to be able to get staff let alone good staff.

Yelp
Greta happy hour! Very hospitable staff. I talked enjoyed the mussels and the kimchi fries

Yelp
Great service attentive and friendly ! Fun welcoming spot and affordable we will definitely go back

Yelp
The restaurant is pretty small. Be sure to make your reservations! The food was delicious. The atmosphere was pleasant. I had conversations with people at the bar and with folks sitting at tables. The price point was a bit lower than comparable restaurants. The staff was friendly and quick. I would eat here again.

Yelp
Hot food, great oysters, and $1 champagne flutes. Service left something to be desired but there were 2 servers and 1 bartender! Expect to wait at Happy Hour but the quality is in the food!
google avatar

Angela J.

Yelp
My boss recommended this restaurant too me and it did not disappoint! Went for happy hour and we were blown away by the steamed pork buns, sushi, oysters, edamame and champagne! They have great happy hour deals and i will be back very soon.
google avatar

Brittany B.

Yelp
We went for their oyster happy hour. The meat in the oysters are humongous but not flavorful. Some even smelled fishy . I ordered the ramen bowl ($25) and my husband got the banh mi sandwich. My ramen bowl had NO flavor whatsoever. It was probably worth $10. Way overpriced for the poor quality. I had to dump so much hot sauce in it. Our bill of around $100 was totally not reflected in the quality of the food. It seems like the special items are just thrown together...

Melissa N.

Yelp
Used to be a weekly favorite, but my husband and I won't eat here anymore for the same reasons others have detailed. Then, i got food poisoning from the crab cake sandwich. I miss what this place used to be.

Yelp
OK it's update time! I came in recently for the all you can eat crab legs and it was better than I could've ever imagined. I almost don't know if I should share this information with you because I want to keep the news all to myself. I'd seen posts about it on social media and planed my attack for a Tuesday night (Hint: that's when they have a AYCE crab legs). I saw a comment that you could make reservations which is not possible at other AYCE crab places so I called them up and made one for 7:45 PM with crab legs running from 8 to 10 PM. We started with a tasty little side salad and you can choose between fries and coleslaw, the fries are obviously where it's at. I tried not to bother with them to save more room for crab but I couldn't resist. I figured the place would be crawling with crab lovers but maybe the word just hasn't got out yet. For two people we started with four clusters, and they were all perfectly cooked. When they do them right the crab doesn't stick to the inside and the shell still has enough crack that you can get through it easy enough without it being soft and bending. Every time our platter got low more crab came out from the kitchen and added to our plate. Towards the end we started to slow down and they noticed the look of defeat on our faces but we kept going for a few more clusters. The all you can eat crab is $40 per person that includes the side salad and fries or coleslaw. Add in the fact that you don't have to wait for a table for two hours and that's a steal. I hope they keep the special going because I would love to keep coming back for it. If you're not here for the crab legs, read my past review for tips on all the amazing things on their regular menu!

Yelp
Seafood is spectacular! I loved every bit of it and the scene it provides! My cousin and I enjoyed our time so much we didn't want to leave!

Yelp
I can't say enough about how much I love this place. It's close to home which is helpful for a mom like me that wants to get away and not have to go too far. I love food and this place checks all my boxes. I love that it's kinda small and intimate inside. I love that it's local family owned. I love that the bartender is the owner and she's great.. I can tell folks come in just to see her, not the the food and amazing happy hour deals don't get you in the door enough. I used to tend bar and serve, this place gets it all right! I love that. I see myself, my husband and friends and family that come to visit being my guests here.. GREAT PLA
google avatar

Wendi C.

Yelp
Setting was nice, waitress was patient, and the menu looked good but the positives stop there. Food was not good. No one in our party of five ate their meals. The kids got chicken fingers and a burger- the burger was the most edible of the meals. Our teen got the teriyaki chicken. She picked the chicken out and left the noodles. Good concept, poor execution. My husband had the fried seafood platter which was essentially fries with a side of four fried shrimp and a small piece of flounder. I ordered the recommended lobster Mac and cheese. It was not good. I really wanted to like it but didn't. And my drink was also gross. Across the board disappointing.
google avatar

Chad P.

Yelp
Disappointed. Heard great things about this place. Maybe it was about the happy hour? Watched the 12 raw oysters being shucked by a dude without gloves. Throwing the lemons on there etc. I still ate them. They weren't bad but they need to wear gloves. Steampot for dinner. Good flavor. Ordered Chardonnay. Filled a very small glass half full. Wasn't happy with that. Then sitting at the bar had to listen to the two cooks run their mouths about everything under the sun in a loud tone. Just not a well run or managed restaurant. Very small place but that's not what made it sub par. It was the rest of it. Made to feel like you were infringing on their time. Won't be back

Mark B.

Yelp
Just moved to Mt Pleasant permanently, and was so disappointed to learn that the menu has changed and the Monday happy hour special ($1 bubbly and $1 dollar oysters) is no more! This was a regular Monday afternoon visit whenever I was in town, but I will need to rethink my Monday routine.
google avatar

Vannessa G.

Yelp
The coco mojito was my favorite drink of the night but also highly recommend the salty dog. Cannot say enough good things about the steam pot and the oysters!
google avatar

Denise D.

Yelp
This little place is literally around the corner from my house and I love to pop in for Happy Hour every now and then. They offer $1 oysters and bubbly from 4-6pm. The atmosphere's great. I love the cozy, familiar atmosphere of this little gem. I've often run into neighbors or friends and ended up staying for dinner. The fish tacos are delicious as is all the local seafood I've tried so far. Chef Florie adds some delicious sauces to his dishes, but not too much - just enough to make it interesting. The cocktails are very good.
google avatar

Amy E.

Yelp
My husband brought home take out tonight and boy oh boy it was really really good. Lobster Rolls, Brussel Sprouts, Bahn Mi.......it was absolutely delicious. We will be going over there to dine. Mike said it was nice inside and the staff was very friendly.
google avatar

Tina B.

Yelp
I really thought this place was designed very well, but as far as the food goes...the owner needs some serious feedback. I'm sorry, but there were so many things that weren't right. Hopefully this review makes it to the owners hands and some changes are made. Let's start with my soft shell crab sandwich. The crab was itty bitty and the bun was huge. Plus the lettuce was the hard, light colored, end piece that I usually toss in the trash. I would highly suggest you either get a mini bun or add another crab to the sandwich. I noticed I could have done that for an extra $10 which I didn't think was fair being that the first crab was so small. By the way, there were four people sitting at the bar and one other table that had a family of four sitting at it. Which is why I was a little confused that my fries were cold when the server gave us our food. I mean really??? It just confused me that a server and a cook couldn't take care of a total of ten people. I can't imagine how bad it would have been if the place was packed. Moving on to our Boil Seafood Bowl with a tasty broth, Mussels, Clams and Shrimp & our Shrimp Fried Rice. We really enjoyed both until I bit into a shrimp and the smell of ammonia shot through my nose. Oh my Gosh, come on, you can't serve old shrimp to the customers and think that that's okay. In all honesty I would have given a four star rating if the shrimp weren't old. What was worse was the servers response to our concerns. Good news is that neither of us got sick and the bad news is unfortunately we won't be back to Pier 41. Especially because there are so many other restaurants with better quality food and much friendlier service. One other note worthy of mentioning. If you've going to charge $2.75 per oyster, you might want to switch your listing to a "$$$" and not a "$$" restaurant. I hope you take this review and make your restaurant everything that you want it to be. Good luck
google avatar

Eric S.

Yelp
Food and atmosphere were great. Service was below par. Price was very reasonable. Go for the food, don't expect too much from the blonde server with glasses, after all she stated "I only have 2 hands" when we asked for utensils and a napkin.
google avatar

Josh R.

Yelp
Never had a bad meal here the oysters and crabs are always amazing. We come at least once a week

Yelp
Really 4.5 (Yelp can I get a half star). This is an awesome place for a drink and some food in Mt Pleasant. Nothing beats the happy hour $1 oysters and $1 Champaign. Monday $5 tacos, Wednesday half price bottles of wine. No shame in having the oysters and Champaign them leaving. Of course we only did that one of three nights.

Mary T.

Yelp
Fantastic oysters! Also get the Kimchi fries!!! The oyster shooter and Moscow mule where great! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal!!

Yelp
Yum!!! Half priced crab legs which were delicious. Very niece waitress and staff. Cute place!

Yelp
When you've had a great day, it's ok to just go it on your own!!! Here for some bubbly and some oysters on the half shell!! Cheers to me!!! Fabulous happy hour specials here !!! And to top it off it's only 4 miles from my house !!! Yay!! I could not be happier at this moment unless my love was here with me, it I ain't scared !!!

Yelp
Went to Pier 41 for the first time. Had there clams and snow crab legs. All was very good but wish that the crab legs had come with more stuff like potatoes and corn like a lot of restaurants do. Service was great. It was good but wouldn't be my first choice.

Yelp
Expectations ran high as the happy hour referral came from a bartender at a popular Mt. Pleasant food and beverage establishment. Walking inside, there was a certain unease in the air, it felt heavy and not conducive to a drink after work with the big boss man. Boss man wasn't particularly excited about my suggestion, but it came to me by a bartender at a popular Mt. Pleasant food and beverage establishment...... right? .... I should be safe with this recommendation.... right?........ Positivity now rapidly dwindling. The girl serving an outside table of eight seemed to be fully consumed, far to consumed to greet us. Once at the bar, barkeep begins working on the table of eights time consuming drinks -- he was muddling for Old Fashions for Peetes Sake. We just wanted a beer, so the wait ensued. Our order was taken with some low volume huffs and puffs, usually reserved for orders that take a fifteen minute conversation, we were not that at all. Bottom line, the treatment we received was very poor -- and where is the water? Isn't that kinda what the word PIER suggests? No pier either. The fried shrimp was a total left over reheat bomb mess which was sad, as the shrimp was of nice quality. The breading was that of sticky pudding left too long in the fridge, the nachos were pliable, rubbery and gummy -- no topping in the world could rectify. Fortunately I still have a job but have been completely stripped of any happy hour decisions hence go forth, double secret happy hour decision making probation. Thanks guys.

Yelp
I stumbled upon Pier 41 after leaving the office the last night I was in Mt Pleasant on business. They offered a happy hour and I made it just in time to select from a limited menu. Note $1 raw oysters are from 4pm-6pm. Other happy hour items are extended until 7pm. The baked oysters and fried mahi taco with the mango salsa is TO DIE FOR!
google avatar

Yelp
Y'all. I wish I could give them a better review but we didn't have a great experience. We showed up at Pier 41 on Saturday evening around 5:45pm. Most of the tables were empty and the bar was packed. Our waitress told us they had reservations for all of the empty tables at 7pm and we could sit there if we would be done by 7. At this point it was getting on 6pm, so that left us less than an hour to look at the menu, order food, have it prepared, eat, and pay. It's possible but this was our first time at the restaurant and had no idea what was on the menu. The waitress offered to seat us outside until there were open seats at the bar. At this point we were hangry so we agreed rather than trying to figure out where to go instead. There was a big storm coming so luckily seats opened up at the bar pretty quickly. However, we saw a steady stream of people walk in, find out there were no tables, and leave. When 7pm came (and we hadn't finished eating yet!) many of the groups were late or had fewer people, so they could have easily sat other people instead. The bartender was great and even offered to go to the liquor store to pick up a cider for my friend since they didn't have any on tap. We enjoyed our food and our experience with the bartender, but the seating issue left a bad taste in my mouth and I don't plan on returning.

Yelp
This place is such a hidden gem in the middle of Mount Pleasant. My wife and I just went for the second time and we really enjoyed the fresh seafood food and friendly service. This is a great place to go and just order small plates to share. The fresh oysters were great. The mussels with basil and boiled peanut is a must try. We have not tried the sushi but plan to do so soon.

Yelp
I love their dinner menu and their fresh seafood options! I also really like their sister restaurant on41 I love the mix of Asian and American cuisine and all that they have to offer! Their cocktails are amazing as well! Great for a date night or family outings! They're also open for lunch as well! Their sweet tea is also the bomb!

Yelp
Spent $51 with an overly generous tip for a bland fried seafood platter that includes hard, dry day old fries, and then this, with is suppose to be 2 fish tacos and "ceviche." I'm so Hangry right now. I am amazed that you are still in business after serving this low grade school lunch to paying customers. The "ceviche" was a tiny chopped salad with 2 cut up shrimp...gray jalapeños?? And no citrus. After having lunch at a "southeast asian" place that served hard noodles bowls with negative flavor I'm just cooking at home while here in Mount Pleasant, because I'm not used to eating bad food like this. I mean...wow! Either the staff don't care about quality or something else is going 9n here. Y'all really have to evaluate what you're doing cause if your heart isn't in it please stop taking people's hard earned money. We drove 12 hours to get here and 3 out of 4 food experiences have been atrocious. I just don't get it. You should truly be ashamed and embarrassed. I would submit you to 'Restaurant Impossible' but I don't think its worth the effort. Signed, Hangry and Home-cookin While In Mount Pleasant Because Y'all Truly Can't Cook To Save Your Life.
