Well begun is half done. I restarted studying new major this year after long time college graduation. An architecture was my other interest besides my previous college major. I was afraid to study again while I am employed. However, the staffs and college curriculum helped me to overcome it. I’m happy to study here in Pierce College. The campus looks awesome and wider than I expected. It provides kinesiology programs with a great price or free.

My experience at Pierce were honestly foundational for my growth as a person. There are many great opportunities and amazing professors on campus. I entered with nothing but apathy, but meeting the faculty and my fellow students, I began to embrace learning, eventually becoming a senator out of genuine love for the school. Don't get me wrong though...there's some really shit professors, and counseling/administration is a pain to deal with...but such is life, especially at community college. If you're ever taking Spanish, take it with Marcelo Mejia!

The school’s in a beautiful open space setting with Mission Revival structures. While attending a track and field event, I toured the Pierce College campus and was amazed at the tranquil atmosphere a few blocks from the busy 101 Freeway, within the crowded San Fernando Valley. The curriculum was good for Junior College courses, the students seemed happy with their programs and the sports department had a stadium! Regional track competitions are held at the stadium and at the hill, where cross country teams rough it thru in often difficult conditions, including high temperatures and winds. My group did the dirt trail runs thru the dusty winds! Even the awards ceremony afterwards had the high winds blowing dirt. Notwithstanding the conditions, the runners took it all in stride!

Google
I really enjoyed going to this school here! I learned so much from there very dedicated and helpful professors! I particularly enjoyed Professor Dahlberg's drawing classes and Proffesor Kramer's English classes!

Tom Pechy

Google
Daughter loved going here due to professors but no sunshade when walking between buildings can be brutal. Great staff though.

Mary Brown-Martilik

Google
They are housing a Science Camp for K-5th graders on their campus. Very welcoming and pleasant.

Behrad Kabiri

Google
Worst math department possible, got an A but not happily, apart from that the counseling department is terrible, never available and so understaffed. They haven’t been able to offer any online classes, everything is designed to favor the unemployed students,

Natalie Marie

Google
Great campus and friendly people without a doubt. Only bad thing is that they need better maps to help one navigate through their campus.

Yelp
Wonderful Community Festival to celebrate AAPINH Heritage Month! Cultural demonstrations and dance performances. Food, vendors and local politicians, public and private community partners. FREE and plenty of free parking. Lots of accessibility friendly entrances and parking.
google avatar

Crystal K.

Yelp
Big campus that has had renovations to a couple of their buildings. Lots of activities and academic options. Highly recommend their courses and their professors/ lecturers

Greg U.

Yelp
Terrible. Good luck getting any questions answered if you need anything done. Phones don't answer and all schedules are booked. This CC is actual comedy.

Yelp
Fun career fair at Pierce. I represented my company AppleOne employment services. So many amazing students, and all of the other employees were friendly. The staff here fed us breakfast, coffee and pizza for lunch. Very thoughtful. A clean campus and the parking lots are easy to locate.

Yelp
I love that Pierce college were able to host the 2nd annual AAPI event. My family and I enjoyed all the food places, cultural festivities, shows, dances, etc,. We will be back again for next year's AAPI event.

Yelp
pierce college extension pickleball teachers cancel classes. dont tell you if class is in session or not. theit mailbox id full so you cannot leave a message w the teacher Cassandra to find out if class is scheduled than refuses to refund all of your money. the extension office does not help. they tell you to call the teacher. very poorly run operation. i would take classes somewhere else.

Amber A.

Yelp
Terrible. I took my son here for football the coach promised all sorts of things like being able to connect football players with security jobs and having them stay together in houses. All BS they were kicked out of there apartment told to ask all there parents for more money than sent a bunch of them to share a 4 bedroom where multiple kids shared 1 room woth cubbies to sleep in and some kids who don't have the money sleep in abandoned apartments. I went and picked my son up to come home. Hopefully this will help other just ensure you get your kids into a school that will actually help them and not have them living in deplorable conditions or some without housing at all.

Felicia C.

Yelp
i Just want to give a big shoutout to the Coaching staff for the football team. Been an amazing help for my son.

Lily R.

Yelp
I just want to warn anyone who is considering the nursing program at Los Angeles Pierce College to avoid it because it is not worth potentially wasting your time and effort. They rave about their high 99% nclex pass rate and think what they do is right to weed out as many students as they can for profit. Their intent is to only graduate as few students as possible and do not tell you this in orientation. It has happened where they would not round a 75.5% when 76% is passing. I did extensive research and it is better to invest more in school that genuinely cares about their students and offer help. This program is very disorganized and has no problem discarding you and your efforts.

Yelp
Absolute worst experience from start to finish. It took them 3 years to get my credits down and now almost 2 years to give me my degree/diploma!!! I graduated in June of 2022 and have YET to have received my diploma. I don't understand!!! I've asked a million times via email with student services/ counselors. Insane!!

Lo W.

Yelp
Assurance with student resources was difficult. No response and no one available on the phone

Kynadi K.

Yelp
All of Pierce counselors and about 85% of its professors are a joke. Tell me, why did I take 3 classes that are not a part of the IGETC program but my counselors put it in my academic planner. Every class that I have taken I have followed through the requirements or by my planner. Currently I am trying to enroll in Psych 074 however it won't let me because I need stat 101 before I can enroll in Psych 074. The counselor told me that Math 227 was applicable to transfer into Psych 074. I am trying to convince myself that maybe I missed something in my meeting with the counselor. However, even when I checked the planner that my counselor made for my requirements, Stat 101 was no where in sight. Again, this is the 3rd time that I have taken a class that is not helping me move forward in transferring. I have been to Pierce to follow up with the financial aid office because my student account wasn't showing that I had any financial aid. Why did I get sent to the wrong office 4 different times before I ended up at the right one. I've seen students literally cuss out administration in the office because they are irritated with the lack of common knowledge of their own job. I worked at a summer camp this year that was held on Pierce Campus. Employees who work at this camp need to attend the CPR classes through Pierce administration before camp started. Let me tell you that the director of the camp was beyond irritated that a handful of her employees had so much difficulty to even enroll for the course. She called the office who knows how many times and they were not helpful in the slightest bit. Don't even get me started on the professors. Only a handful of professors here are genuinely good at their jobs. I am tired of having professors who make class unbearable to attend. Whether its bulletin point lectures every day, or professors who aren't grading based on their OWN criteria. Anyone who has ever attended Pierce knows that by the 4th week of school, the campus looks like a damn ghost town. I have a friend who started at Pierce this fall only because her family couldn't keep affording for her to continue at a university. She is appalled by how difficult and ridiculous Pierce professors and counselors are. If you are planning on attending here good luck, I truly can't wait til I can finally transfer. I don't even care about a ceremony I just want my diploma so I can go.

Yelp
It's almost impossible to get a hold with them. Many complications during enrollment. Had a bad experience

Yelp
This is by far the most unprofessional college i have ever attended. Staff is impossible to get ahold of. Does bare minimum, has many bad attitudes, & makes things way harder instead of easier. I have been all over CA and attended a few different CC's. Pierce College is by far my worst experience. It's really as if nobody who works there actually wants to work there. Very low vibrational experience. 3 out of the 4 teachers i took classes with seemed like they set students up to fail rather than be successful.

T E.

Yelp
Very misleading Covid protocol. I wanted to visit the library, to study on homework, and I saw a posted sign that has a QR code to scan for visitors. I fill out the information and I get a confirmation via email that would allow me to go into the library. Once I got there I was rudely turned away and was told that the general public cannot visit the library only teachers and faculty. Why would Pierce post this photo and not honor this? I'm really disappointed.

Yelp
I tried to transfer to Pierce for Spring Semester 2021, and finally gave up and ultimately had to skip the semester altogether because the class I needed filled up at my backup option. Let's cut to the chase: the front office at Pierce is a goddamn disgrace --if you're lucky to reach anybody on the phone, it sounds like an Indian telemarketer call center, thirty people in the background screaming and answering calls. And once you DO reach a live person on the phone, you're going to talk with a babbling mess who treats you like a number, not a person. The Pierce website is archaic, confusing, and a fucking joke--I'm NO fan of Glendale CC, but holy shit, they are FUTURISTIC compared to Pierce. At Glendale, they have an intuitive site, people who know their jobs, and guess what? They will actually call you back. If you're unlucky enough to reach someone in the Pierce chat window on the sloppy early 2000s-era Craigslist-style Pierce homepage, you have to contend with miserable people like DELIA PORRAS, who was helpful for exactly seven minutes before she became rude and dismissive to the point of cartoonish because I didn't know what the fuck she was talking about--dealing with her was the final straw before I threw in the towel and gave up on Pierce altogether: if they have mental cases like her and a bunch of screaming yahoos running the main office, I might as well find the nearest mental institution, and try taking some goddamn night classes there. No thanks! Pierce DOES have a lovely campus, but who gives a shit?

Yelp
This is the worst school ever ! I've been waiting literally an hour . Too see a counselor and there is so much attitude and rudeness going on the staff and I just find it disgusting and disrespectful... I go to Los Angeles Valley college and even tho they are in the same school district ! There is still some what more respect at my school , then this shitty ass school . The fact i just had to see a counselor and do a walk in and it was more then an hour !!! Makes me question this school and it's responsibilities to its students and people who attend this school

Yelp
Best place to cheat, 1/2 of my class takes test pictures of test and scores good. If you want to move forward in life, look for the Persian connections. We can help you!

Yelp
Every Bathroom is so dirty. Never any toilet paper or paper towels. Lights are out. Very dirty classrooms. I wonder where all the money is going to that we pay for classes and for the books.

Yelp
Tutor Center This center is very useful for me. I recommend everyone to use this center.I was so weak in the mathematics. But, they helped me to gain grade A in mathematics.

Yelp
Let me just start off by saying...it has been some years since I went to this college and recently went back maybe about a year ago. I don't know what has changed exactly but I am certainly not a fan. Let's start off with staff...if you need help with anything. Its like a hit or miss. The main departments they get the most traffic from barely have any workers and the ones that have the least traffic have more workers. Second, do not expect them to answer any of your calls or emails in a timely mannerly because it will never happen. Third, the TEACHERS!!! I am starting to think they hired some of the teachers online to fill in the space because some of them do not know how to communicate and ask what they really want out of their students. I am in the process of transferring to another college because this is ridiculous. I will say that it is NOT that whole college but a good majority of it. And if you going to have student workers, PLEASE make sure they know what they doing and how to do it. It is quite annoying when you need something done and nobody knows what the heck you talking about. I hope that one day they can do better!

Kayla A.

Yelp
This school does not give a single flying f*** about the students. Every single staff member is rude, talks over you, and attitudes. I worked so hard and covered all my tracks to enter into a winter class which was not offered at COC but I needed to graduate. No one helped with me a single thing and rather they all threw me in circles by referring me to the next person who referred me and so on. So now I have to postpone everything for a semester. Seriously, if you really care about your education at all, do NOT attend pierce. The college in entirety is unorganized, unprofessional and has a million and 1 workers who accomplish absolutely nothing. This place is a god forsaken nightmare. If you want to attend a community college, COC is definitely the way to go since they are not part of the ridiculous LACCD system.

Yelp
I love this school!!!! It's amazing and you meet interesting people with all type of network, of course we are in the valley so that's a give. Agriculture is what Pierce is all about along with programs for nurses ,vets, chems, Japanese , Asl ,Art , Real estate , Political science and much more. Diversity is huge here so show some respect and become a Brahmas. P.s. the sky is always beautiful even on a bad day.

Yelp
Graduated Spring 2020. Never got my diploma or any updates. Emailed admissions, counseling and graduation office and no one helps me get a status on it.

Yelp
I work full-time, so I came to this school as a part-timer going to night classes. It took me eight semesters to transfer out. There were semesters I could only take one class because of how busy I was. You have to have the mindset of not caring how long it's going to take you if you're in a similar circumstance. The night professors were all helpful. Most were understanding that the students taking night classes were usually working adults. Though I found out about PACE towards the end of my time there, I think it's a great program to knock classes out much faster than how I did it. The advisers were also very helpful. They guided me through the process and helped me transfer/graduate. Overall, I genuinely enjoyed my time there. Good luck!

Yelp
This is a really shoddy excuse of a community college! They encourage you to take ownership of your education online but are not very helpful when there are issues you can't solve via computer. Phones are never answered and they aren't helpful in-person either. I have gone to the counselor 4 times now to go over my SEP and update my Student Portal. Each time I have been, I addressed that my SEP isn't available for me online like it should. Each time, I was promised that it would be updated for me so I can track my progress...nothing has happened. On top of all that, the "guidance" given isn't actually helpful. One counselor was late and on top of that cut my appointment short. The educators aren't so great either. Out of the 6 classes I have completed so far, only 2 have been awesome in helping you succeed. The others are just there, coasting through their job and collecting a paycheck. One math professor (Statistics) was particularly nasty and she is just allowed to be. She was very degrading and rude. Zero accountability from an education standpoint. It feels that some professors belittle the students because they are attending a community college. It's just a really poor environment. Definitely easy to get stuck since there is absolutely no guidance.
google avatar

Kevin M.

Yelp
I have been attending this college for quite a while. It has been my second home, and I have almost taken a class in every department. Your education is directly related to the professor you take. Your professor may be out to lower your GPA, and there is nothing you can do other than drop the class. There are some awkward individuals with a common mix of prideful individuals. Do not be mistaken. You may find some gem of unique individuals that do not belong here but rather belong in their field or majors. The bathroom is definitely disgusting. Certain bathrooms have unique smells which I expect before coming in. There is also disrespectful graffiti on the bathrooms which does not help. Food choices here are limited which are now worse since they closed down the small cafeteria area under the library. There is not much information about programs or special educational assistance for new colleagues. Do your own research! Pierce College does have a good variety of unique opportunities mostly of which must be requested or looked for.

Yelp
This review is mainly for the counseling department. Jennifer helped me figure out my classes, and even went out of her way to really help! Thank you very much! Much appreciated.

Yelp
I attend pierce for quiet some time. The parking sucks, professors are okay, there is better ones at Valley College. The construction is making pierce look like a university. If you attended a local high school, you end up seeing everyone once again! LOL.. Pierce College Trails!!! ARE THE BEST! Great for a weekend workout. The track around the football field is turf! :)
google avatar

Fatima F.

Yelp
You can never get ahold of someone, or get direct answers at all. Phone always go to voicemail or to an automative voice system. You can never get your questions answered and when you all a different department they still can't transfer you to a direct person in admissions. No I am not a current student I was a previous student that transferred to a university out of state. They told me they have some of my transcripts on HOLD. For unpaid fees, these fees were a result of them messed up my residency in California in there system and charged me out of state fees. Mind you I'm already paying out of state at this other university. So how am I suppose to get things resolve IF YOU NEVER EVER PICK UP THE PHONE!! literally been calling for two months to get transferred around. & NONE has replied to any of my emails that I sent 3 months ago. HONESTLY, if you want to get it done you will have to drag yourself to that dreadful campus
google avatar

Einna M.

Yelp
If you're someone who's fresh out of high school and doesn't know where to go but still wants to pursue a higher degree of education, I think Pierce would be a good starting place for you. It's an easy to apply online, plus there's like a ton of programs in which you could avail that'll help you financially and academically. If you wanna know about events, programs and updates, they're quick to notify you through email. Its also not too big of a campus, so wouldn't get lost too easily (plus they legit of a bunch of posts around campus that have maps). I think parking would definitely be a struggle though for you if you have morning classes and aren't a morning person.

Tom T.

Yelp
KEEP PIERCE ONLINE COVID19 is we'll handed here so far please keep classes online no one will social distance them self's from friends if campus is opened. = more COVD19
google avatar

Yelp
This review is for the office. They take forever. I've been waiting in line for transcripts how would u have only two employees working on the first day of summer classes? Come on! And the two other employees just chillin in the back

Ricky C.

Yelp
Don't waste your time at this school. 0 help from staff and it's been a nightmare coming here. Stay away from this horribly put together school until they can hire new staff that knows how to do their job. This school is pathetic and makes school miserable . Worst place on earth . Stay clear if you know what's good for you

Yelp
This school is a joke! Seriously, go anywhere BUT here. I started going to Pierce in Spring of 2015: First - Your teachers won't even grade your work and hand it back to learn what you messed up on etc... it's any easy pass. Sure, great if you're lazy and don't want to transfer to a U.C.- but you definitely will not be prepared for a more intense class. Another difficult part about the teachers is that many do not speak English as their first language and fly through the lessons making it frustrating and difficult to learn anything. Even if you ask for help later they will make you feel like and idiot after saying "I just taught you this, why don't you get it.." and then you still don't learn. Second - You can Never get a hold of anyone, and when you do they are rude idiots! Ex. I called to make a payment and needed help with the steps on how to pay online. I had to call 5 times in a row before anyone would answer (couldn't leave a voicemail because the mailbox was full). Then this lady answers, barely speaking English - which is okay - but she was mumbling so it made it even harder to understand her. When I asked her to repeat herself she just kept huffing and said "I already gave you the steps." Okay, great, well guess what lady, your job is customer service, so help someone out and speak up so we don't have to go through this a million times. Finally she gives me the steps so I can do it myself. I hang up, do it..and guess what.. it STILL didn't take me to the right place. After 2 minutes of hanging up, I call back and guess what.. NO ANSWER AGAIN!!! What a disgusting school for people trying to improve their lives with education. I went here because it was near where I live, I will gladly commute an hour each way to go to a different school.

Yelp
One of the best decisions I made after graduation high school has been attending Pierce College. Pierce College has one the highest transfer rates to UC and CSU colleges in the country. They offer a ton of different classes and majors, I do recommend to use ratemyproffesor to find an instructor that you think will suit you. Applying online is easy, and you can also take advantage of financial aid if you qualify. My advice is to sign up for classes early, find ways to get involved on campus, and make the most of your time there!

Ashley N.

Yelp
They are so unhelpful literally other than teachers alllllllll of the staff that I've had to experience from admissions to business office nobody offers any support or help. They don't even answer your questions they won't go the extra mile or an inch for the simplest questions.

Michael S.

Yelp
Just don't go here. Any other community college will do. Save yourself the stress, the withholding of your money when you try to get it returned to you, the horrendously incompetent staff, teachers, and WiFi.
google avatar

Nikki A.

Yelp
This college has given me so many opportunities for my career. I am an animal science major and this is the only college near me that is hands on with the practices of animal sciences. 4 days of instruction out of the semester are at the Pierce College Farm. Not only does this college cater to my major but it also opened up many doors for me with programs like EOPS , ASO, CAS, and Transfer Center! Also they have GOAT YOGA before finals and it is amazing! Highly recommend going to this college and taking advantage of all their programs that are there FOR YOU. Don't be afraid to ask questions, all you have to do is reach out your hand and grab the opportunities to succeed!

Yelp
This school is awful. Campus is unkempt, their janitors are often chatting for 30-60min at a time, talking on phones while working etc. This really shows when you walk into the restroom with no toilet paper and paper towels. Campus is technologically retarded. First off the "free wifi" which really should be an option in 2017 considering they're charging up the ass per unit. If you haven't dealt with it yet - dont even try. There are like 4 spots on this campus that will get you 2-3 bars, and even then it'll be choppy. Most classrooms have useless shit like non-functioning TVs, broken desks and chairs, long foldable tables- some classrooms are basically storage rooms. Dont get me started on the shitty media kits that this school provides its staff. HORRIBLE. I feel for the professors who have to deal with it. I wonder about the monetary distribution of the funds in this school. It would be great if they made the spreadsheets available for students to see. Art students still dont have a space to practice art in, and are forced to wait for their classes in the freezing rain or scorching sun (library is for non-creative activities only, and god forbid you take out an apple to snack on). Here is some important info for the freshmen: YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN. Learn to figure shit out by yourself because no staff member here will be able to fully help you. EVERYONE is only partially informed, you will be bounced around, and 90% of the counselors don't care at all. FAFSA and FinancialAID: dont even bother with them. My first semester i was told to pay everything out of pocket and they will later reimburse me because my paperwork was lost by someone. No, lol, there was no reimbursement. Next semester I was told to apply by a certain date and I will receive an email with an appointment- waited like a month and received nothing, stayed in line for 50 mins to hear that whoever said that was misinformed and I have to fill out more stuff. Returned with filled paperwork, in line for 40 mins, lady tells me everything is fine and I didnt need that paperwork in the first place.. EOPS: the counselors dont care about you or your issues. But dont be afraid to ask for a new one. I did and got Erin- best counselor at this shit school, actually cares about students. Looked at my education plan and couldnt figure out why I had random classes I dislike AND DONT NEED written by a previous (recent fulltime newhire) counselor. Redid my plan and tailored it to my needs and wants, advised me on my options. Here is the kicker, guess which counselor is staying, the recently hired fulltime careless one, or the caring adjunct Erin? You guessed it. Way to go Pierce. I'm sure no one there cares about these reviews, but luckily we as students have every right to complain and figure out exactly where the money we earn and pay goes.

Yelp
It's almost impossible to get classes and the administration is horrible. Especially those in the office of the registrar. The head of the office of The registrar (Lorena) is one of the most incompetent people I've ever met. I once sent her an email telling her that my college email doesn't work and she responded by telling me to only email her from my college email when I told her this she stopped responding to me and never sent the promised communication despite documentation saying she would. I missed out on a class because of their incomPetence.

You D.

Yelp
Bathrooms are disgusting. I see the cleaners cleaning them and they don't even try. It's horrible. The professors are good, 4 stars for them. However, their computer science and math department professors...horrible as well. They are so poor that you have to drive to another junior college, like LAValley, just to get your credits and a good grade. Their customer service in the student service building and cafeteria is just as bad as the DMV. They take their sweet time and couldn't care less. Their academic counseling services are by far the worst customer service there is. They give you FALSE info, multiple times. I've wasted 2 classes here because I WAS TOLD I NEEDED THEM, WHEN I DIDNT. They also GUESS when you ask questions. They don't even try to hide it when they don't know the answer. Like, just tell me you can't help me. Don't give me the wrong info and walk away.. idiots. The whole counseling department needs to be retrained, rehired, or REDONE. No one knows what they're talking about. I could've WASTED a whole semester from their dumb employees. They don't pick up the phonr, they put you on hold and never respond, or they just hang you up while they "transfer you.."

Yelp
First, I rarely ever write reviews. I am so upset with the way that I have been treated that I felt I needed to share. I have already graduated from college and am currently a fourth grade teacher. I am going back to school to further my eduction and brush up on a few things. I am taking online classes as I find them easier to handle with my career, husband and children. I registered for two classes that I have not taken and waitlisted one that I had taken and passed, Health. I feel it is important to let you know that I did not secure a spot in the third class as that would be unfair to take a spot in a class away from a student that needs the class for graduation purposes. I wanted until the semester began and received an email from the professor with my permission number as he had taken everyone else on the waitlist. The next day I received an email stating that Administration and Records administratively dropped me from the class due to it being a repeat. At this point I needed to petition the college for re-entry to the class. I drove to Pierce and waited in the line. I filled out the paperwork and gave in to the very unhappy woman behind the glass. She stated that all petitions were supposed to be turned in two weeks before the class began. I explained that I was just added yesterday and she walked away.....just walked away! A short time later she came back and handed me my paper stating that my request was denied. DENIED! I asked why and she said, "It says it right there." Here is what I wrote as my petitioning reason, "I took this class over twenty years ago and would like to repeat it. I am a teacher and will be teaching my students how to live a healthier lifestyle." The woman whose signature is unrecognizable but starts with and L wrote, "The presented circumstance cannot be used to approved this petition." (Spelling error and all) When I questioned the lady behind the counter, M, she said, " Go to another LACC college like Ventura." Really!!!! This is how helpful a college is towards people wanting to get their education and some who want to further their education? I worry for any person that has a problem and needs to go into this office.

Yelp
Pierce College is a great school to go to! There is a lot of nature and wild life on campus, so its definitely nice to look at and walk around. There is a lot of shade, so you can keep cool and study when you're not in class. The vending machines are located throughout campus, it accepts credit cards, and cash so it makes it super easy for students to get snacks anytime in the day. PACE program is a great for students who work 40 hours a week or more and don't have time to go through the long semesters. PACE is accelerated so its a lot of info in a short period of time. The teachers are all great, they really focus on teaching and making sure the students are retaining the information. I never would of thought I would actually enjoy coming to class each week. Dr Duffy and Mr Oneil are both really great instructors, I learned a lot and they make class very enjoyable. One thing I would change about the campus is maybe the cleanliness in some classrooms. They should have someone come in one day a month to do a thorough deep cleaning! :-) Other than that, Awesome school!!

Yelp
The teachers are great. But financial aid and admissions office are a pain the ass. It'll take at least 2hrs tp get some errands completed. It's the worst.

Yelp
This is an awful place, and that's saying a lot considering the last college I went to was Southwest. To be fair, though, SW is upping its game, what with the new areas and all, but while Pierce seems like it's trying to do the same, maybe they should concentrate more on cleaning up what they already have. The bathrooms are the most disgusting I've ever seen outside of a port-a-potty, and the campus is in full disarray due to the lack of signage while they're reconstructing. The rest of the campus is dirty, too, and no one enforces the "smoke-free campus" policy. Oh, and ALL of the chairs are broken in the classrooms (see pic). It's ridiculous. Maybe instead of expanding they should spend more on janitors & furniture. The professor I had was unprofessional in her communication, saying she'd communicate through email but then only using the online forum, which isn't always accessible. She seems to have no respect for the students' outside lives, and spends the first fifteen minutes of class talking about fantasy football--like anyone cares. I'm sure the fact that I have to drive 1.5hrs in rush hour to get here doesn't help my mood, but honestly, if you drove that far and drank as much water as I do and then had to use THESE bathrooms, you'd be in a foul mood, too.

Yelp
Wow, Pierce College... After moving to California (almost one year ago now), I started school at LA Mission College and parking wasn't a big deal. I have heard that Pierce parking SUCKS... and it really does... Other than horrible parking, I think the instructors and classes aren't too bad. Although registering for classes is kinda poopy too! I will probably be attending Pierce for another 2-3 semesters.

Yelp
In comparison to my previous LA district school, LACC, Pierce is great, aesthetically. Before this past 2016 fall semester, Pierce only had a small cafe and a couple food trucks, which is not a great option for people that want to sit and eat. There is also a huge segment of the campus that has been under construction for more than 4 years which is absurd. Valley managed to construct and complete an enormous cafeteria and student lounge -- which includes foosball tables, billiard tables, LCD TV's and fire places -- in less than two years time, along with another brand new building complete and ready to be used perhaps this 2017 Spring semester if not it may have opened in 2016 Fall semester. The Center for Academic Success is an amazing resource -- available for free (with enrollment) -- for students that is full of competent tutors for almost any subject. Lastly, I want to talk about the availability of the wireless internet or lack thereof. Wifi on campus is extremely poor. First, it is a struggle to even connect to the network and when you do, it is completely unreliable. For a college, this is unacceptable in 2016 going on 2017. There is, however an IT department which boggles my mind as the wifi network is near useless. If the school is paying an entire department whose job partially is to maintain the wifi availability, why are students subject to such mediocre internet technology? Anyhow, the school is great in terms of classes available and resources for academic success. I hear Pierce has the highest transfer rate percentage in the entire district which I suppose speaks for itself. If you're a student that requires resources to succeed, Pierce is the place.
