I love this place! I’m polish and it is very authentic. The food is delicious and you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. I go here very often and I’m never disappointed. Also so cute inside 10/10 recommend

This is a welcome addition to the food scene in the business development area of Great Kills. The shop is open and bright, but cozy and the staff are attentive and quick. The food is also very authentic and you can also speak Polish with the waitresses. The stuffed cabbage is highly recommended along with any of the pierogies, as it is full of flavor and the cabbage is deliciously tender yet pliable.

The food was delicious. Would especially recommend the polish platter with Kielbasa and Hunters Stew. Borscht was great too. Will definitely be back. Also a benefit that it’s conveniently located only a short walk from the SIR Great Kills train station

I went to Pierogi Island with my good friend and daughter this weekend from Brooklyn to try Polish food for the first time. I was beyond impressed with the entire experience! First off - the ambiance is amazing. I felt as if I was at someone’s home, having a home cooked meal and felt cozy. This is definitely a place to bring your family to dine. I tried both the BBQ chicken and Mac & Cheese Pierogi’s, and they were very flavorful. The BBQ chicken was my favorite, as it was full of flavor and melts in your mouth. Next was the Ukrainian Borscht, which was hearty, flavorful and makes you wanting more! The sour cream and sauce with chives added an extra flair to the entree. Then we tried the Zapiekanka sandwich, which my friend modified and added some Kielbasa to it, and this was to die for! Very tasty and I highly recommend to get! My main entree was the Polish Platter, and it didn’t dissapoint. The Pierogi’s, Kielbasa, stuffed cabbage and stew had me full for the night! This meal is worth every dollar! Last we had the lavender, strawberry and blueberry lemonade. All were tasty and refreshing for the meal. It went well with everything and I would order it again. Overall an amazing restaurant and I wish we had one in Brooklyn! I look forward to coming back again with my family, and i appreciated the kind service and hospitality!

Pierogi Island is a place that amazed me from the very beginning. My husband ordered the Polish Platter, and it absolutely met his expectations. I order Zapiekanka and was not disappointed either. The food is fresh, the portions are large, and most importantly, very tasty! The beautiful rustic interior and friendly service complete the experience. As a Polish woman, this restaurant took me back to my childhood and homemade Polish food. I recommend Pierogi Island to everyone who wants to taste authentic homemade Polish dishes. I will definitely be back.

Pierogi Island stands out as the ultimate pierogi destination in the New York and New Jersey area. The food is consistently homemade, incredibly fresh, and expertly seasoned. I appreciate their blend of traditional and innovative pierogi flavors - the BBQ chicken pierogi are absolutely a must-try! In addition to their fantastic pierogi offerings, the stuffed cabbage and Ukrainian borscht are also excellent choices. And for dessert, the Nalesniki is a delightful treat! The restaurant itself is small and cozy, with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff goes above and beyond to provide exceptional service. Pierogi Island is a hidden gem that will surely leave you coming back for more.

Absolutely outstanding! I've visited many Polish restaurants in the NJ/NY area, but Pierogi Island is my favorite by far. Everything was freshly made and tasted like it came straight from a Polish grandma’s kitchen. The borscht (żurek) was my favorite dish—simply perfect. We also tried the gołąbki, goulash, and a mix of pierogi, and everything was delicious. Portion are huge. I will definitely be returning often! Highly recommend this place from bottom of my heart ❤️

I've worked in Greenpoint and have eaten at many good Polish restaurants. I've only had the stuffed cabbage plate here but between the delicious food and superb service I will surely return.

I have dined at Pierogi Island twice in the last three months and i have got to say the food is outstanding. I had the polish platter the first time then the second Ukrainian borscht with ruskie perogies (potato and cheese) and they were best thing to have on a winter day. The service is top notch as the staff is friendly and prompt. The restaurant is small but nice and cozy giving it an intimate ambiance.

Cute spot, the spinach and cheese pierogis were delicious. I'd definitely will keep coming back for those.

Tried Pierogi Island for the first time and everything we had was great. The Borscht was delicious but I'd especially recommend the polish platter. The kielbasa was delicious and had a great mustard on it. The hunters stew was excellent as well. Nice cozy interior for sit down service with a good atmosphere. Convenient location and short walk from the SIR train station
