While the service was notably slow, all the food I had was very delicious! Large portions as well. I can definitely see this restaurant going in two different directions in terms of the type of restaurant and business that they want to be. Both aren’t bad, it’s more about who they want to cater to.

Google
Pierre Pierre is top tier on vibes, food, drinks and service. The atmosphere is very nice with touches of gold and green velvet. Go visit Precious at the bar you will not regret it. Tell her Stephanie sent you. I had the whole red snapper which was seasoned all the way through.. it is very tender and flaky. The bed of rice is so good I licked my fingers when I thought nobody could see me. Lol everything was delicious and is a great place to celebrate or just vibe out with the staff.

The food was excellent, and the waiter was cool and helpful. The staff was pleasant and professional. The atmosphere was lovely, and I have to go back soon. I tried the wings and rasta pasta. My favorite was the steak and mashed potatoes. They whipped those potatoes nicely.

We stumbled upon this place before hitting up an Angie Stone tribute down the street. My friend and I enjoyed everything about this spot. We arrived around 5:30PM on a Friday. We were immediately given a table. Then greeted by Ms. Nevaeh . She explained that our waiter, Matt would be over in a moment. She and Matt were both amazing! Matt quickly came over to grab our drink order. Our drinks arrived quickly, followed by our food. All of our food was flavorful, but BABY that fish is so good! It’s enough to share, which is what we did. Seeing how we stumbled upon this place, we were greatly impressed! The vibes were vibing! The owner happened to be working. We made sure to let him know that we enjoyed the establishment. I’m visiting from out of town, and we enjoyed it so much that we may go back before I leave. I definitely would recommend Pierre Pierre!

Google
Pretty good experience overall. The waiting area was very nice and clean. Very simple and elegant interior. Was seated at a table within a reasonable time, there was major wait at all. Had reservations. The fried deviled eggs were a staple and highlight of the night for me. The crack wings were good; I didn't feel addicted though lol The portion sizes were fair and worth the price. the crab pasta was delicious; it was seasoned very well and so creamy. Reheated it for dinner the next night and it was still good! The oil had separated a bit. Our waiter Matt and the whole staff was great! The peanut butter biscoff cheesecake was good. music was at a reasonable and enjoyable level. The only thing that was disappointing was the lamb; it was overcooked. The drinks were fairly good.

Google
The atmospheric was really nice and clean inside the Restaurant and the staff were very friendly. The asparagus and mashed potatoes were cooked to perfection and for which I loved the seasoning. However, I gave it 4 stars due to the fact that they ran out of some key ingredients to some of their dishes which made it difficult to order. My steak was a little over cooked and under seasoned. I wanted a Medium Steak but it came out well done. The DJ was playing really good music however, the music was entirely too loud. I also noticed didn’t like the fact that I had to pay for every drink for refills which was only a soft drink/soda. I will return one day after they get a little more established and structured. Overall this Restaurant has the potential to become one of Oaklands top leading elegant Soul Food establishment’s. Thanks :)

Google
This is an amazing place. The Owner is Amazing. Food Chef's kiss. Sometimes what you want isn't available so you should be able to order what you want when you make reservations. The energy is cool, however, This establishment can be very upscale with the food and the owner's vision. I will be back, simply cause the food and service and the owner are on point.

Food was good, but just a tad salty... Also, portion sizes are small.. If you're looking for a robust vibrant atmosphere, this is for you. If you're looking for a quiet atomosphere to have a conversation, it may not be.

Yelp
Oakland sure isn't lacking for soul food restaurants, and there's a wide variety not only in terms of quality but in the breadth of food offered. Jamie W and I decided to give this restaurant a try after having had a delightful dinner at Burdell (review: https://yelp.to/FxhL3CmhOt). This one has a more upscale vibe in a cool historic setting, the Oakland Tribune building, but I have to say the execution was mixed. We started with a couple of their house cocktails. Jamie had the $14 Pierre's Margarita with the potent house tequila, triple sec, agave, and lime, while I ordered the puckery sweet $14 Strawberry Drop made with the house vodka, strawberry purée, lemon, and honey (Photo 8). It was a good start but then a long wait for the food. Inexplicably and without apology, all five dishes arrived all at once. Pretty overwhelming. First of all, we wanted to try the $28.50 Oxtail Rasta Pasta, but the server told us they were out. It was only 5:30PM, so we thought that was weak so early in the evening. As an alternative, we were offered a $35 'turf' version of the Rasta Pasta with slices of a medium-rare Ribeye Steak (Photo 7). The penne with jerk-spiced cream and sweet bell peppers was just too rich a bed for an indulgent piece of slightly undercooked meat. Similar in spirit was the $30 Cajun Crab Pappardelle which mixed a rich Creole cream sauce with cracked crab meat and mirepoix (Photo 5). It was another example of a fundamentally tasty dish overcome by muchness. We had marginally better luck with the three appetizers. The heavily dressed $14 Caesar Salad benefited from big toasted croutons (Photo 10). The $18 'Crack' Wings were pretty tasty with the spices and sweet chili sauce (Photo 6). The $15 Crab Fried Rice would've been just fine without the unnecessary topping of shaved Parmesan cheese (Photo 9). It turned out to be a lot of food for the two of us, and had we known how saucy most of the dishes were, we would've cut out at least one or two of the sides. I think they might benefit from Burdell's more economical approach to their dishes where they focus on a unique flavor to make each one more distinctively memorable. FOOD - 3 stars...basically tasty but with too many excessive touches in the execution...and no oxtails at 5:30PM? AMBIANCE - 4 stars...certainly spacious and well appointed for a vintage locale SERVICE - 3 stars...a spirited server but why did all the dishes come out at once?...and what's with not providing dinner napkins? TOTAL - 3 stars...it would be nice to offer an option to strip back on their richer dishes RELATED - Exploring Oakland? Yelp
First off- let's just start with the vibes of this place. I can't get over it. The second I walked in, I was immediately enveloped in the ambience of beautiful, soulful vibes. The host was hella friendly and welcomed me to sit on their sofas while I waited for my friend. So as I sat on the sofa, I allowed myself to drink in the vibes. The music playing was Mary J Blige "Share My World." When my friend arrived, we were seated immediately and the service was impeccable. Our table had a wobble so they moved us. We ordered our drinks and one of the servers laid our napkins across our laps. He even brought a small chair to put our purses on. When my friend asked for straws, he came through with the straws on a tray and he bent down on one knee. I'm telling you, the service was the epitome of Black Excellence! If I were an emoji- I would be the one with STARRY EYES! We were talking so much we ended up ordering appetizers- Mac and cheese, the flight of wings and brussel sprouts. It was our bad that the mac & cheese dried up just a bit, but the flavor was still there. We enjoyed the flight of wings immensely it went well with our alcohol, mine being a vodka spritzer and hers an old fashioned. Returning? Hell yes!

Yelp
This restaurant has been on my list since February of 2024. My sister in law raved about the deviled eggs. It's a very spacious location with tons of modern homey decor. The staff was super attentive and friendly from the hostess to the servers. We had a few hiccups but the fixed them and made them right. My one recommendation would be to put your own leftovers away. They took my food away to bag it up and did not put my leftovers in my bag. I was sad the next day. Lamb chops 9/10 Deviled eggs 10/10 Chicken wing trio 6.5/10 (cold flavor was a little off) Macaroni cheese 8/10 Brussel sprouts 6.5 (too sauce with no flavor) Would definitely

Yelp
Let me start by saying the service was amazing, 10/10. PD went above and beyond to ensure that our party enjoyed our experience. Matt was also very helpful and accommodating. Good vibes all around. This black owned restaurant is located in the old Oakland Tribune building. It has a spacious layout and with a nice, simple decor. Plenty of seating is available in the waiting area, a nice bar, and good music. I came for a birthday dinner and our drinks were really good! My favorite was the strawberry lemon drop. I had the lamb chops with whipped mashed potatoes. The chops were tender but the flavor was just okay. Everything else I tried was good. I would come back to try another entree.

Yelp
Despite the mixed reviews, my boyfriend and I really wanted to check this place out and we came prepared knowing that the service could be hit or miss. First impression ... you walk in and immediately see the half circle bar and a wall lined with couches. A cute and vibey area to wait before being seated - they also had a DJ the Friday night we went. Despite having a reservation we had to wait a good 15-20 minutes to get seated. Once seated at the table, I was surprised that the menus looked like a school craft project ... scalloped edges made by those craft scissors ... laminated ... and strangely small. It looked like a dessert menu or an after thought. Service was surprisingly reasonable - food didn't take long at all. But looking at other pictures on yelp, their portions and plating are WILDLY inconsistent. We ordered the steak, Brussel sprouts, surf n turf Mac n cheese, 2 glasses of wine and cheesecake dessert. There wasn't anything to really brag about. Not the best, but definitely not the worst either. Steak was perfectly cooked, my boyfriend really liked the Mac. I wish the Brussel sprouts were on a plate and not a bowl because they eventually lost their crispy fry and became soggy. If I were to come back I'd likely go to the bar with my girls or come after work for a night cap. I say check them out at least once. Show this local business some love. They definitely have some kinks to work out and once they do ... this place has so much potential!

Yelp
Saw Pierre Pierre highlighted on an IG influencer page and decided to pop by for dinner one evening. The good: the food. The bad: the ambiance. It was rather loud for our taste and while the decor was beautiful, the crowd was not really for us. Neither were the cocktails (most leaned to the sweet-side). The food was truly the highlight. The Port-de-Pierre wings were juicy and seasoned well. The rack of lamb was cumin-forward and one of the best I've eaten anywhere, hands down. The king salmon was also absolutely divine. Both were cooked perfectly. We finished the meal off with cheesecake and it was drool worthy.

Yelp
Officially this is my new favorite spot for amazing food, a vibrant atmosphere, and the friendliest service you could wish for while dining out. The lounge waiting area is an ideal spot for people-watching, sipping drinks, and relaxing comfortably while you wait for a table, especially if you didn't make a reservation. This time, we savored the crab fried rice, lobster, and irresistible lamb chops that never disappoint! Plus, we indulged in the Rasta pasta, a penne dish brimming with tender oxtail beef in a delightfully spicy Alfredo sauce. Absolutely delicious!

Yelp
*******BLACK OWNED BUSINESS ALERT******* I made an unplanned trip to Pierre Pierre to celebrate a birthday. It was a late reservation that we got to early. They were not ready for us but we were able to pull up to the bar and chill. I am just going to say the service there is like no other, I promise. Fuqn Awesome Service. First it is always great to be in a place that's for us by us!! The DJ was doing his thang, folks were out looking good and having a good time. It's a vibe. The drinks were decent. I really enjoyed the Pierre Pierre Side Car. It was purple. Cute. The food was good. A couple of dishes were sent back by the birthday girl but what I had was flavorful. Listen, I always say go try for yourself. My review is to get you in the door. This place is definitely on the list for a go to place in the Town, and this is coming from someone from the City. Bon Appetite!

Yelp
Birthday Dinner Gone Wrong I debated whether to share this experience, as my intention is never to harm a business. However, my disappointment and frustration with my visit to Pierre Pierre compel me to provide feedback. My best friend and her boyfriend planned this dinner to celebrate my 31st birthday. While we were seated fairly quickly, it took over 10 minutes to order drinks and receive water. To my surprise, the restaurant had run out of all beer and iced tea by 7 PM on a Sunday. Upon reading other reviews, it seems this is a recurring issue that has yet to be resolved. After another 15-minute wait, we ordered appetizers. We opted for the flight of wings to sample different flavors. Unfortunately, two varieties tasted nearly identical, with the only distinction being a powdery topping on one. The third wing was unappetizing, with an odd gray-green appearance and too many competing flavors. Next, we received the "truffle fries," which were soft and lacked any discernible truffle flavor. I kindly asked if they could be remade to be crispier and requested ketchup, which never arrived. After waiting another 15 minutes, the fries were brought back, but the quality was still disappointing. For a restaurant at this price point, I was shocked to see it serve what appeared to be generic Kraft ranch dressing--a significant letdown. The service throughout the evening felt rushed and dismissive. The waitress frequently sped by, asking, "You good?" without waiting for a response. This behavior felt unprofessional and inattentive. We ultimately decided to end our dining experience early. We spoke with what I assume was the manager, who was incredibly kind and understanding. We canceled our main courses, and he offered us complimentary cheesecake and later, a round of shots. We accepted the latter, which was a nice gesture. Before leaving, however, the waitress made an odd and offensive comment, asking if I was a Capricorn. When I said yes, she replied, "Oh, yes, I get it. I'm the same way; us Capricorns are different." My friends and I found the comment perplexing. To top it off, they sang "Happy Birthday" with a candle on a plate, awkwardly referring to me as "Capricorn." The whole interaction was bizarre. Additionally, the bill was incorrect twice before being resolved. On a positive note, the restaurant has a nice ambiance, and the busboys were friendly and attentive. I also appreciated the manager's efforts to address the situation. However, based on my experience, I don't plan to return. That said, I always encourage others to try places for themselves--you may have a better experience. If you decide to visit, I recommend going earlier in the evening to avoid issues with limited drink availability. Best of luck to this business.

Yelp
Ok so I had been seeing the Tik Tok's regarding this hot new spot in Oakland so I decided to come check it out! Made a reservation and upon arriving we waited! We waited for about 30 minutes and finally was seated! I'll say the theme of the night was waited! After getting our table we again waited about ten minutes before our waiter came and took our drink and order! Since we were picking up on the waiting vibe we made sure we knew what we wanted by the time he came. We went with the flight of wings, deviled eggs, I had the ribeye and my wife ordered the lamb chops! I ordered a club soda with lime. And once again we waited! Our waiter told me the bar was backed up and that's why I waited again for my drink! It was just a club soda!! The appetizers came out rather quickly. The wings were decent I couldn't really differentiate between two of the flavors the actually tasted similar the crack wings and another kind! Tasted like sweet chili. The wings were ok, I'd give em a 6 outta 10. Now the deviled eggs on the other hand they were pretty darn good. I do recommend 8 outta 10. The ribeye was really good nice crust cook to my preferred temperature! I did not taste the lamb chops but my wife said they were really good also! For dessert we shared the Bischoff crust peanut butter cheesecake. The only complaint I had about it was it could've been left to sit out for a little before serving to soften up that crust but otherwise that thing was OFF THE HOOK!! Now I'm reading the reviews one thing that came up in a lot of them was the wait! If you come here you may experience the regular restaurant wait times as we watched some tables around us get there food quickly but others appeared to have to wait like us! But wait time aside I enjoyed the experience other than the Warriors playing like crap as I waited for everything at the restaurant!!

Yelp
I rarely give five-star reviews, but for this restaurant, I wish I could give ten. The parking is typical for downtown--challenging, but I'd circle the block all day for this place. We visited on a busy Friday night, and from the moment we walked in, the ambiance set the mood perfectly: my favorite R&B tracks playing, a full bar, and an elegant, vibrant atmosphere. Despite the crowd, we were seated almost immediately, and that's when the five-star experience truly began. Our server, PD, was the star of the night. Warm, attentive, patient, and knowledgeable, he made us feel genuinely cared for, as if he truly loved what he did. He welcomed us by placing napkins on our laps and promptly took our drink orders. I opted for a glass of red wine, while my husband tried the "Paradise" cocktail, which was like a mini-vacation in a glass--absolutely fantastic. For appetizers, we chose the deviled eggs and the crack wings. Both were exceptional--the wings had an ideal blend of crispiness, sweetness, and spice, while the deviled eggs practically melted in our mouths. Just when we thought the experience couldn't get any better, the chef came by to check in on us and recommended the red snapper. I'm so glad he did; it was wonderfully seasoned, with a bed of rice bursting with flavor. Our main courses were just as impressive. I ordered the stuffed chicken, while my husband went for the steak and lobster, with sides of mac and cheese and broccolini to share. Every dish was divine--I was so impressed and full, I didn't know what to do with myself! PD made sure to switch out our silverware with each course, even presenting my husband with a selection of knives to cut his steak. Though it's on the pricier side, this restaurant is worth every penny for a special night out, a celebration, or a girls' night. If you haven't been, I highly recommend you try it--you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place whilst strolling downtown Oak. It seemed to have took over the old Tribune Tavern which I actually liked. But in recent years longevity simply is not in the equation in most urban areas, where 10 years is a long run and anything beyond that is a rare unicorn. Pierre Pierre does seem to have some good cred behind them as their food is pretty solid. And the locals seem to be out to support them, as when we came in on an early Sunday evening, the place was quite packed by 6pm. Old Fashioned ($14/4*) Large single ice cube presentation with 3 gourmet preserved cherries for garnish. Very nice blend, more fruity notes than bourbon flavor, and the color was more of a blush which I've never seen for an old fashioned. Quite tasty but more dessert like for me. I would get one of these next time I come in but at the end of the meal. Seafood Deviled Eggs ($16/4*) First we tried on getting the Salmon Tartare as an app but were told they were out (by 5pm). No big but it does ding a place from ever getting a fiver as it reflects a bit of disorganization and/or lack of commitment in the operations. But these were some of the most unique deviled eggs I've ever tried. First off they take the hard-boiled whites and fry them with a fine breadcrumb coating which made it very warm with a slight crisp. Then they piped in the deviled yolk mixture which was appropriately mustard-y. I think they dotted the top with crab meat but honestly you can't even taste it. But great deviled egg rendition. Creole Lobster ($35/4*) I'm still not sure if their menu is strictly a la carte where you have to order all the sides separately, as when this came out, that's all that was on plate, well some drawn butter as well. And the bartender did not ask if we wanted sides to clarify, as I would have reviewed the menu and reconsidered. Now the good is it was a respectable portion of Pacific lobster tail, cooked well with a dusting of creole seasoning on top. With a glass of wine which I had to reorder cuz they were out of choice #1, it still was a delicious light meal in a happening urban setting. Would come back for a more substantial dinner someday.

Yelp
Pierre Pierre is EASILY the best Black-owned restaurant in Oakland right now. It deserves waaaaaaaaaay more than 5 stars. I've been here three or four times now and THEY. DO. NOT. DISAPPOINT! It has an elegant, art deco type of vibe when it comes to the ambiance and I love it. It gives a very high end feel to it. The Maitre d'......... and his level of service/hospitality deserves it's own line of gratitude. He is the best I've seen, especially in a BOE, especially in Oakland. He sets the tone for this restaurant (through appearance and service) and the kitchen delivers with flying colors. I've had a little bit of everything from here. The fried deviled eggs are a perfect started. They were absolutely delicious. So good that they came with five pieces and I was reluctant to share. I wanted them all. The rack of lamb is hands down my favorite dish here. It is seasoned and cooked to perfection.... every time. *chef's kiss* I've paired it with mac n cheese, broccolini, the whipped potatoes... OH MY GOD they are so good, and I've even had the sprouts that were also really seasoned and prepared very well. My second favorite dish here was the Whole fish. It was plated beautifully and it tasted just as amazing as it looked. The star of the show at this restaurant............................. is that Biscoff Cheesecake. *standing ovation* Y'all definitely have something with that. I've never tasted anything like it. I also love that the Chef come out, introduces himself and checked on our experience. That is top tier service. Overall, ambiance is a 10, service is a 10, food is a 10. They are a 10 across the board for me. I've brought friends/family and even hosted a bday dinner. It can be a little pricey, since everything is ala cart, but it is well worth it. They take walk-ins if they have the availability and they are very accommodating, but do yourself a favor and make a reservation. I definitely recommend this place.

Yelp
I've been seeing a lot of people rave about this place and was eager to try it out. Its menu intrigued me and ambiance; and felt This restaurant was a great addition to Oakland. A lot of businesses and establishments over the years have closed down in this area due to bad press. So it was refreshing to come across this place and it didn't disappoint. It's located in the Tribune Building in downtown Oakland not far from lake Merritt. Made reservation for party of two (Note all parties have time limits on their seating) so if you're one that likes to relax for while after keep this in mind. They do have a full bar and lounge area you can hang out at; if you go over that limit and want to hangout for little after your meal. We were greeted promptly and seated right away for 4:30pm Reservation. Drinks: 5/5 I had the Heads in the cloud which is Gin based. I am not a Gin Fan but this drink was excellent and very smooth. Appetizers: Port of Pierre wings 4/5 comes with Epis Sauce very good but a tad bit overcooked. Deep Fried Seafood Devil Eggs 5/5 Excellent I have never had fried deviled eggs before. I thought it sounded a bit odd; but it was excellent highly recommend these. They were very flavorful and nice and crispy outside and soft flavorful egg on inside. Entrees: Note Portion sizes here are very large, all entrees here are shareable While Deep Fried Fish: 5/5 this fish ( I think this Red Snapper) was huge it can definitely feed several people. It comes with Fried Rice on the bottom; really good and had nice crispy skin. Oxtail Rasta Pasta: 5/5 Very good Dish oxtail is shredded into the pasta; so you won't have to worry about deboning the oxtail. It was well seasoned and Spicy. I love spice, but if you're not a fan of spicy food I wouldn't recommend this dish. Asparagus: 5/5 We had this as a side dish and it was good overall. It's hard to mess up on Asparagus though. Dessert: 4/5 Butter Cake this was good but very sweet. Service: 4/5 Service here is overall good, our order was taken in timely manner, Food came out quick, and server was nice and professional. My only gripe was I felt served couldn't had been slightly more attentive; and was only given a 15 minute notice to order dessert before next reservation was to come. While they did get our deserts out quick; little more of heads up would have been nice. Overall, this place is Excellent, food is great and well seasoned, Service is good, Good menu options, and Nice Ambiance. I will definitely be back.

Yelp
Came in with my group of girlfriends for a celebratory birthday dinner. We had reservations for 7 pm I was running a bit behind due to the traffic . They sat us about 5 mins after we all arrived and my reservation had changed as some people backed out last minute and they were very accommodating . We sat had our napkins placed on our laps and our server took our drink and appetizer order . Drinks were so good perfect balance and we had the deviled eggs for our starter they were delicious but I wish it was more than 5 for 18 dollars we should at least get an even amount of eggs . We're told upon being seated that they had 3 more orders of the oxtail Rasta pasta so we ordered them along with the stuffed chicken breast and a lobster tail. About 10 mins after our server came and informed us that we're in fact out of the Rasta pasta ( this was our second visit and they didn't have anymore on our first back in November ) so that was disappointing to have it happen on two different occasions, but our server said he'd comp my birthday meal for the inconvenience which was I thought was awesome customer service. Food came And it was good 3 orders of the crab pasta , a lobster tail , macaroni & cheese , asparagus, Brussels sprouts, stuffed chicken breast and mashed potatoes all delicious my group was pleased . Over all great night out will definitely be back to visit thank you for the hospitality ! * p.s prep more Rasta pasta so I can finally try it please *

Yelp
First time stopping in for birthday celebration we had a great time. We enjoyed the ambience the excellent service the music. The staff was amazing and the food was delicious and prepared perfectly . Our group enjoyed the lambchops , salmon , wing flight , bottle of Cabernet, Cesar salad , crab fried rice , biscoff cheesecake and delicious cocktails. The happy birthday song was stellar . We will definitely be back !

Yelp
You guys Pierre Pierre was sooooo nice! Our reservation was at 430 & we were sat exactly at that time, The ambience was amazing, the service was attentive and fast! & don't get me started on the food. We tried Mac n cheese, the truffle fries (they were out of truffle oil so they brought Cajun fries instead) the Rasta pasta (although they were out of the oxtail that's supposed to go on the pasta) we opted to have the pasta just by itself no meat & the flavor was still so fire. My father in law had the salmon (he cleaned his plate & ordered one to go) my brother in law tried the crab fried rice, he said it was insanely good. We also got mashed potatoes, which was nothing special tbh just mashed potatoes... The Mac n cheese was creamy and flavorful and i loved that they used penne noodle instead of elbow. We got a strawberry drop, & the passionate drink both were yummy & had us feeling good. We also got a bottle of rose, my complaint about that is that it was Josh wine lol... the kind that's like $12 in stores, they had it marked up to $60, but that's expected when you're out eating. They end up having a dj playing music, & they have the cutest little lounge area if you're waiting for your table. They sang happy birthday to my brother in law & it was the black version and the whole restaurant joined in!! So magical. I will definitely be back to Pierre Pierre! Black owned businesses are always judged so much more harshly then white owned or corporations, & this time pierre Pierre hit the mark! The only negative thing I have to say - the next day, after eating here. I was the one person who got a Cesar salad and while i was eating it i kept having to take out pieces of the lettuce because they were old looking and turning that color lettuce turns when it's no longer good. After a while i stopped eating the salad because there were just too many old lettuce pieces. This morning i woke up throwing up everywhere, stomach turning, literally in shambles! The only reason I'm blaming the salad is bc I'm the only person that ate it and the only person that is sick. I ate nothing else yesterday literally saved my appetite for here. I'd still come back just wouldn't get the salad.

Yelp
I waited for my second visit before posting my review. The first time I sat at the bar with some friends and the service was great. The stuffed chicken was good but it was small and looked like a Cornish hen. Brussels sprouts were a 12/10. Tonight we had a party of 6, Celebrating a birthday. Service was TOP NOTCH. We arrived early and we were seated promptly. Lamar was amazing from the beginning to the end. This time we tried pretty much everything on the menu. Lamb chops and snapper were ! They created a special cocktail that everyone couldn't stop talking about. The bartender is a great mixologist. We experienced no delays with our food and given the size of our party, I was impressed he was able to keep up!! I will definitely be back!

Yelp
Pierre Pierre has quickly become my favorite place in Oakland. The vibe, the food, and the hospitality is amazing. It's exactly what the town needed. It feels like I'm in ATL or Houston when I step inside. IYKYK You WILL need a reservation. They stay booked and busy and I love that for them. I'm big on FOH activities and Black owned establishments seem to always get dinged on customer service, so it was extremely refreshing to see them place an emphasis on that part of the experience. They aren't always perfect, but are always willing to fix any issues. My first visit was in November for my birthday and we tried to order the menu Chicken wing trio Oxtail pasta Lamb chops Deviled eggs Mac/cheese Brussels At that time, our service was a little slow, but they were friendly. The food though? Amazing.. I've returned multiple times(I sit at the bar now, this is my new hangout spot lol) and just from observing, it appears that service timing has improved. Now, my standard order is a strawberry drop w/tequila(highly recommend) crack wings and Mac/cheese. Every now and again I get the lamb chops. I'm a creature of habit but eventually will try something else. lol. The only drawback is the lack of parking. There is a parking lot about a block away, but street parking is pretty difficult. Honorable mention goes to the mirror in the Women's bathroom. Definitely give them a try! It's a perfect place for celebrations, girls night out or even just a solo mission. You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Food was delicious! I only ordered the crack wings and crab fried rice, but I can tell a lot from a place that doesn't over look the simple menu items! The wings were the right size not too big, crispy, well seasoned and delicious! The crab fried rice has massive pieces of real crab meat! The ambience is a vibe the dj was definitely doing his thing. The service was also great! I would definitely come back

We also ordered two steaks there and they were a delight! I ordered mine blue and my hubby likes medium and they both were cooked excellent

Yelp
I had 815pm reservations, we got there at 815 and had to wait 20 mins before we were taken to our table. Not sure what was the point of reservations. Then we sat and waited. And waited. And waited. Some man came by- he was in a different color shirt and took our order which we ended up ordering everything since we had so much time waiting. The food didn't take long but the wings were not good to me, I did not like the deviled eggs. The whites were deep fried and it wasn't hittin. The wings, one was called port something and tasted by an Indian curry. I like curry but not curry wings. The next one was some kind of sweet and sour(I'm just trying to describe) situation. There was powdered sugar on top of it and no. The last wings were garlic Parmesan and probably the best. The lamp chops I ordered medium and it came out well done. The Brussels were great. The pasta dishes were very oily and salty. They were both a no for me. The oxtails in the pasta were covered in Parmesan. The music was good though. The table next to us were 4 Indian guys who were seated before us and by the time we were done with our food they still did not have any. Let me just say- I had high hopes and empty bellies when I went to dine here. And I was very disappointed.

Yelp
To start, I would like to discuss the service. Although it was a bit slow, the servers' attentiveness made up for the delay. Lamar followed up exceptionally well, Sarah worked diligently to meet customer requests, and Bryce consistently ensured that our needs were met. Once we finally received our food, it was generally satisfactory. The pasta with crab was flavorful but slightly too salty rather than spicy. I was a bit disappointed as there was hardly any crab in the dish. Overall, it was acceptable. I had wanted to try the pasta with oxtails, but unfortunately, they were out of that option. The deviled eggs were amazing. The ladies I was with really enjoyed their meals, and again, just a bit heavy on the salt. Signature drinks were cool. Decor was simple and quaint. Ladies' bathroom is really cute. Hopefully, soon, they will get more help so that the wait isn't long and a nicer menu as the paper one is a bit tacky. Fonts didn't match and were not aligned on the paper properly. I will for sure come back as I would like to continue to patronize the black owned business.

Yelp
Elevated soul food, you literary can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The interior is gorgeous, relaxing, perfect for date night. You can sit at the bar or make a reservation for a table. Servers are polite, well dressed and a vibe.

Yelp
The family and I had the pleasure of dining at Pierre Pierre to celebrate a birthday and this place did not disappoint. It was quite an experience. I took off a star because one of our entrees (surf and turf) was overlooked and didn't come out until most of us were halfway through our meals. Aside from that, they provided amazing service. Each staff member has their own unique flare and I loved it. Every dish was well proportioned with enough for everyone to get a taste. The star of the show for me was the Rasta Pasta w/oxtail. We also had the whole snapper with a most flavorful rice, a rib eye served with creamy mashed potatoes and sides of brussell sprouts and asparagus. Oh and I almost forgot about the flight of wings with the Pierre Pierre wings (savory) and crack wings (sweet) being the standouts. This is now one of my favorite Oakland dinner spots! and I look forward to returning again and again.

Yelp
The overall ambiance is fire.. The set up, seating , staff is A1. The appetizer Wings were excellent, Drinks came out fast and we're mixed perfectly. Mac n cheese was . The one negative was my Rib Eye. It lacked flavor as if it wasn't a lick of seasoning on it and that alone is what dropped my rating down from 5 stars to 3. I will try again in the future hopefully my steak will be better..

Yelp
I recently took my sister out on a dinner date, and Pierre Pierre was recommended to us so I took the opportunity to visit. We went on a Thursday and it was a nice crowd. When entering the place was nice and clean. Someone immediately came and greeted us we signed in and she let us know she will be getting our table ready. About 5 mins later she came and sat us with several different seating options. Now I'm getting really hungry and did I mention this is a black business. Once we ordered we decide to skip the appetizer and just straight to the entree. While waiting on our food someone on their staff came and placed our napkins in our lap. I don't think I ever saw that level of service in a restaurant environment. I ordered the lamb chops and my sister order the salmon. Overall I would give my food a 7/10 but I for sure can't wait to go back and try other items off the menu. Our server was Lamar and he went above our expectations. I can't wait to visit them again.

Yelp
Caesar salad was definitely a huge hit! Perfect dressing and everything. The pasta I ordered was also good as well. It was actually even better the next day after rewarming it. Glad to be able to try this establishment and will be back again!

Yelp
Let me start by saying that I really had high hopes for this place upon entering. I came here for my friend's birthday dinner, the vibes were definitely vibing with the DJ and inviting/entertaining layout. The hopes died there. Once seated we checked the menu for drinks where we saw that we should order our drinks at the bar. But why?! We appeased the request and went to the bar to order our drinks. It took 20 minutes to get 3 drinks, and it wasn't even packed! There were a decent amount of people, but not nearly the volume to constitute waiting that long. We texted our friend back at the table to put in our dinner orders since it was taking so long. We all ordered the oxtail Rasta pasta, I also ordered the deviled eggs to start. The deviled eggs were a big miss, it was just too salty! And for someone who loves salt, this was too much, even for me! Someone ordered parm fries (but they were out so we got Cajun fries instead) and the wings flight. Wings were just ok. Not bad, but far from great. Half of the table received their food, those who ordered the Rasta pasta didn't receive our meals until 30 min after everyone else received theirs! The food runner was so nice, she kept giving us updates on our food, letting us know there was only one person in the back making that dish and they were backed up. We flagged our server down to see if he could help, he explained it was our fault we placed the food order separately and that's why the Rasta pasta was taking so long. We explained 5 minute different doesn't constitute this long of an additional wait time, especially since the food runner actually told us what the issue was. Rude. When the food came out there were 3 tough pieces of meat, nothing tender about those oxtails at all! The pasta had great flavor, but it wasn't a Rasta pasta. It was a pasta with cheese and noodles, but I've never had a Rasta pasta with sun dried tomatoes in it. Different cuisines! All of our drinks were empty so we contemplated whether we wanted to wait for the drinks again. I asked the server if we really had to go to the bar to order, he said, no we didn't have to go to the bar but it will take longer if we ordered it through him since the bartenders are new. Make it make sense! You're our server, and I'm serving myself! At the end of the night he took off the Rasta pastas off the bill, which I'm glad because it definitely wasn't worth it. Despite the fact he took off 3 meals, out of 6, and all cocktails were ordered and paid for at the bar, the bill was still $300!!! I'm still at a lost as to how that was the case, but I was so over it at the end of the night we paid and left. In all, the food was decent, the customer service was not good, but the vibes were there. I'd come back to sit at the bar, but no way I can entertain a seated dinner. Food rating Deviled eggs 0/10 Cajun fries 7/10 Wings flight 5/10 Oxtail Rasta Pasta 3/10 Customer service rating 4/10 Ambiance rating 8/10

Yelp
While the service was notably, slow, all the food I had was very delicious!. Large portions as well. I can definitely see this restaurant going in two different directions in terms of the type of restaurant and business that they want to be. Both aren't bad, it's more about who they want to cater to.

Yelp
My all-time favorite restaurant for the vibes and of course the food! This was the best steak I've had in a long time to say the least. The asparagus was good and the mac & cheese & mashed potatoes was amazing too. The service is very friendly. Loved how my server let me choose what knife I wanted to use for my steak. The vibes are unmatched. They have music playing and beautiful people everywhere.. I will say it is loud and absolutely for the grown and sexy... definitely be back.

Yelp
Entrées and appetizers very palatable. Excellent cocktails. The butler was professional, friendly, knowledgeable about all foods listed on the menu. Overall service was excellent. Sooth ambience, soft lights, candlelight setting in dining area & live music. The music volume wasn't too loud. We didn't have to yell at each other. Excellent spot for intimate and/or celebratory occasions. Has a separate exquisite lounge and bar area. The location may not be for everyone but I was comfortable the food & service was excellent. Thank you PP for bringing your fine dining restaurant to downtown Oakland. I'll definitely be back!!!

Yelp
Operations needs to be managed tighter. The bar was not fully equipped on a Friday evening. The bartenders constantly had to go retrieve bottles from the back. At 750pm, we were not allowed to order food at the bar!!! Considering this establishment has been open for a few years now, we wanted to like this place from the reviews. The manager of operations should ensure that the bar has all its necessary bottles, ingredients, etc to have a seamless evening for its patrons.

Yelp
First time here! Review: I have had Pierre Pierre on my foodie bucket list for quite some time so I decided to come in on a Friday night respectfully, I will say this I had a reservation around 8:15 which we weren't seated until about an hour later, so just be mindful that if you have a reservation, you may have to wait a while just because the space is small and they get very busy and they try to accommodate as many people as they can with the seating and the business that they are receiving Food selection: Whole red snapper on a bed of rice with cream sauce; oxtail, Rasta pasta, Brussel sprouts everything was really good. The snapper was cooked to my liking. The rice was good, but it came out cold. It would've been better if it was piping hot I'm very picky when it comes to sauces, but I must say this cream sauce was really good; and the brussels sprouts are an absolute must!! They were cooked to perfection. Everything had a good flavor. It wasn't salty which I greatly appreciate it. It wasn't over seasoned It wasn't over or undercooked. Everything was really good. I highly recommend these dishes. Cocktail selection: I went with a strawberry drop and my man had the Long Island iced tea custom made. I will say this if you're going to do the strawberry drop or a mixed cocktail ask for top shelf alcohol because unfortunately, I didn't like the drink because the alcohol tasted very cheap. The drinks were good, but they just needed better alcohol and a better blend. Service: our server, I didn't catch his name, but he was the gentleman that walks around in the suit I like the presentation of the napkin being placed over your lap, which is very professional. Our waiter was very accommodating any issues that we had he was on it. He asked us how things were checked on us to make sure everything was up to par and anything that wasn't he quickly corrected ; the gentlemen hostess at the front did their best to get us seated as quickly as possible while, keeping us updated on seating, which was greatly Ambience : a very small setting with a nice bar area. I will say that decor could use some updating the wood tables and chairs are actually a little outdated so it would be nice to see them upgrade to some modern decor. Conclusion: if you would like to have a more quiet experience or an intimate experience, I recommend going during the weekday or at our earlier time because the weekends are more of a club vibe type setting, but it was definitely a vibe!!! if you are celebrating your birthday, I recommend going here because they know how to turn you up for your birthday. I love the energy so in conclusion, I will say the wait time was a little excessive which is understandable because I understand that they are trying to bring out quality dishes and accommodate as many people as they can to enjoy their experience; so just have patience with them they're doing the best that they can and they do get very busy so overall, I would definitely say I would definitely come back here. There are some other dishes that I would like to try on the menu. I will probably come here for lunch next time, but I'm definitely glad I was able to support this black business, especially during Black History Month and I really hope they stick around and have longevity in the restaurant industry !

Yelp
The ambience here is stunning! In the front lobby there's a lounge area with couches and seating for customers to wait for seating. Or, you can sit at the large half circle bar that is very open separate yet still engaging. It was around happy hour time so there were some people hanging out having drinks and eating apps. Just past the bar, is the dining room. Nice size dining room that can accommodate different party sizes. There were five of us. Our server was full of energy, rambunctious, accommodating, and funny, but just a little too talkative. He may have been stalling for the kitchen because it took an UNREASONABLE amount of time for our food to come out. But.--BAYYYYBEE!! When I tell you once that food came out it was lip smacking delicious. Well worth the wait! The seafood tasted fresh. The steak was cooked exactly to my liking--and it was huuuuuuge! The vegetables were fresh. Every thing we ate was good. There were no disappointed customers at my table. Overall they're a 3! I had to deduct 1 point because of the long wait. I deducted an additional point because I tried to contact them at a later date to arrange a birthday dinner reservation and they responded immediately. In hindsight, I believe that was an auto-reply. I provided the information that they requested and then they--ghosted me. I could see that they were reading my messages, but they never responded, EVER. That is VERY poor customer service and I stop going to restaurants just based on that alone.

Yelp
Pierre-Pierre was a charming dining experience from start to finish. Lamar was lovely and acknowledged our celebration of my birthday immediately with his beautiful smile and infectious lively personality. Our lamb chops were exceptional, the staff attentive, and the ambiance was perfect. Highly recommended! We enjoyed it all and topped it off with a wonderfully delicious dessert and a coffee Martini. Black excellence at its best. Pierre-Pierre, thank you for a most memorable event. C. Bedford Palo Alto

Yelp
The food was so delicious that I won't even complain about the wait time. I can't wait to to go back and try the snapper!!! When I say the food was amazing I absolutely enjoyed everything that I had, from the appetizer, salad down to my main entree. I even loved the drinks the entire vibe was perfect Chef Pierre is amazing! I almost forgot to send a special shout out to the two gentlemen at the front. Thank the both of you for accommodating our large group despite being late due to lack of parking

Yelp
My friend and I came here for dinner before the Jazmine Sullivan and Maxwell concert. The vibe is so beautiful! The front entry gave an upscale sports lounge feel and the towards the back you have upscale dining. The only reason I'm putting 4 stars instead of 5 is because my friend felt the server could have been a little more attentive with checking in; however, I truly enjoyed the dinner experience. The food was delicious and the cocktail was tasty. And I love that it's Black owned, in Oakland, and they have parking! I look forward to the next time I make it back!

Yelp

Yelp
I went with a friend to celebrate her birthday on a Friday night. We had a reservation at 7PM and the restaurant was not too packed. Parking is not the best, but we parked in a lot a block down from the restaurant. The service was pretty friendly with our waiter making some recommendations. We went with the deep fried seafood devil eggs as an appetizer. It was a 3/5. Very heavy on the old bay seasoning but not too bad. For our entrees, we got the Delmonico and fish. Both were pretty solid. Delmonico with mashed potatoes was a 5/5. The fish was 4/5. The fish wasn't scaled thoroughly unfortunately. We also got some charred brussel sprouts which were really good, 5/5. Overall, ambiance was chill and solid food.

Yelp
If you haven't been to Pierre Pierre in Oakland, you have to go! The food, the service, the ambiance, the vibes--10/10. The food was so flavorful, fresh and the presentation was amazing!

Yelp
Pierre pierre reminiscent of the Harlem Renaissance for the Bay Area. The food, the vibes, the culture, did I say the food? It's everything and more. THÉ premier spot in the Bay Area. I go every chance I get. Start to finish appetizers to dessert...untouchable. And the vibes are unmatched every time I go it's hard to leave. Can't wait to go again.
