The 25 Best Restaurants In Paris 2024

"Eating Pierre Sang is like playing a game where the goal is to guess what you’ve just eaten. The Korean-French dishes on the €45.50 set dinner menu will get dropped off, and you’re left to savor and reflect on your own. Once you’ve placed your silverware back on the granite plaque for cutlery, someone will arrive to ask what you think you tasted. Perhaps you thought you ate tender veal, but it was really pork filet mignon. Those “cherries”? They're beets. Same goes for the carrot purée that's actually butternut. This type of experience isn’t for everyone, and you probably shouldn’t bring someone who’s a picky eater. Instead, show up with a date or friend who’s down to experiment. The non-pretentious servers—and the namesake chef, a finalist on France’s Top Chef—just want you to enjoy what you’re eating, and maybe understand it a bit better." - sara lieberman, lindsey tramuta

Pierre Sang in Oberkampf

"Pierre Sang was a finalist in the 2011 series of the French television show, Top Chef. Here he is again, pouring his good nature into his delicate, generous spirited cuisine. In his restaurant, you turn up like a friend (no bookings). The ingredients are sourced from local traders. A great place!" - Michelin Inspector

27 Best Restaurants in Paris, According to Locals | Condé Nast Traveler

"Each dish is creative, unexpected, and full of diverse flavors—some totally new to Parisian tastes (especially the Korean touches the chef and his team are likely to fold into the mix). A sauté of pork and white beans in a tomato sauce topped with anchovies and radishes is both comforting and umami-filled with just the right note of acidity. Dishes are artfully plated and always so fresh." - Sara Lieberman, Lindsey Tramuta

Google
Great value for a set menu of French Korean cuisine. I would recommend this if you are looking for a dinner spot around Oberkampf. We experienced a bit of hiccup with one of the dishes but, I’d be lying if everything else was actually to our liking.

Google
Confusing and disappointing dining experience. It’s supposed to be a restaurant that trains their staff to explain the food—but not even knowing what they’re serving feels pretty unprofessional. First issue: food allergy. When we were first seated, they asked about allergies. I told them I’m allergic to mustard. Later, when the second course was served by a different waiter, they asked again about allergies. I repeated “mustard,” and they said it was fine—so we started eating. My friend had already taken a bite when they suddenly came back and took both our plates away without a word. At that point, I assumed the dish must’ve had mustard in it. But then they just returned the exact same plates and told us it was okay to eat. Like… what kind of service is that? Second issue: the vegan mix-up. We never said either of us was vegan. But when the main course came, they brought one beef dish and one tofu dish. We were confused, but the staff only explained after we’d finished eating—because that’s apparently when they choose to explain what’s on the plate. So we asked: why did we get one meat and one vegan dish? They said one of the waiters thought we said one of us was vegan. We never said anything like that… Maybe put that energy into remembering my allergy instead? They offered us another steak to make up for it, but we declined. With food this mid and service this bad, I’d rather grab a kebab afterwards. One last thing about how they explain the food. Imagine if the food were actually good and we finished everything on our plates—there’d be nothing left for them to point at. That’s how they explain the food: after you’re done eating, pointing at scraps. I don’t like wasting food, so my plate was clean. Luckily for the waiters, my friend leaves whatever she doesn’t like, which gave them something to point at. That kind of sums up how mediocre the food was. And yet, they carry themselves with this strange overconfidence, like they’re serving something groundbreaking. If you’re going to act like your food is next-level, maybe make sure it’s actually good—and that your service doesn’t undo the whole experience.

Google
Second time was just as fun and delicious as our first experience there 2 years ago. Such a fun concept to guess what you’re eating and see if you’re right. Enjoyed the atmosphere and the chef was friendly and engaging. Will definitely be back.

Google
Much lower than expectation. Looked forward to the well known Korean- French cuisine before the reservation. However the experience was disappointing, the guessing part should be more interesting and elevating the connection with the cuisine however we can not read the passion from the staff even we were interested in getting know more about ingredients and stories, staffs ignored us. The serving quality was poor and unpleasant, spitted out dishes without apologies, whipped cream and sorbet melted when serving to the table. Design of Camembert cheese with yuzu marmalade is the most ridiculous, unsatisfying and unnecessary dish that I could expect from a Chef Pierre Sang.

Sara Boers

Google
Pierre Sang is a simple restaurant with long tables and an open kitchen in the middle. There is no menu and so no decisions to make, which is my absolute favourite. The only thing you need to know is that the food is French meets Korean, which is fabulous. When they bring out the dishes they don’t tell you anything, you are meant to enjoy it and guess what the dish is. When they come to collect your dishes they ask what you thought you were eating and give you the insights that you missed in your dish. If you are interested in a great meal that you don’t have to pick, this is absolutely it!

Google
Lots of fun. Great food. Amazing music. One of the best dining experiences I’ve had.

Google
Came by recommendation, food was superb, everything was very well though out and their sauces were delicious. But the meat they used in one of their plates wasnt tender, so it ruined the perfectly crafted sidedishes n sauces. Their egg plate was a bit bland but overall good. Lastly the place itself is small so it gets crowded, but food was amazing for the price so still leaving 5 stars

Google
The tasting menu is good. The basic concept is to guess on the ingredients, so you are ask by the waitors, what you enjoyed. The environment is not at all mine.

Yelp
I had an unforgettable experience dining at Pierre Sang. A family friend highly recommended the restaurant, and I booked a reservation about a month in advance. On the day of our reservation, all of the parties for the designated seating time were shown to their tables; once everyone was seated (we were seated in the basement with a few other parties), each course was brought out in an orderly sequence. I will not comment too much on the details of the meal since the menu changes each day and is meant to be a surprise, but each dish was innovative and prepared with fresh ingredients. At a high level, our meal included a fruit appetizer, soup, fish, red meat, cheese, and dessert. One of my favorite parts of the experience was trying to guess the ingredients in each dish - some were quite difficult to guess because they were prepared in untraditional ways with the ingredients transformed beyond visual recognition (e.g., cantaloupe mousse). Each dish was very distinct from the next and provided a balance of flavors, textures, and temperatures. While I'd consider a couple of the dishes to be truly sublime, overall, the unique dining experience was one of the highlights of my trip to Paris.

Yelp
I recently dined at Pierre Sang, a delightful bistro with a playful Korean twist. If you're looking for a unique dining experience, I highly recommend sitting at the counter to witness all the action in the kitchen. Despite having previously visited well-established Michelin star restaurants, such as "Substance," where precision and attention to detail reign supreme at a higher price point, Pierre Sang offers a more relaxed atmosphere. The 40 euro 5-course lunch menu at Pierre Sang may lack some of the precision and finesse seen in upscale establishments, as the plating can be a bit haphazard. However, this doesn't detract from the overall enjoyment of the meal. In fact, it adds to the fun experience. One of the highlights for me was the perfectly cooked medium-rare duck. It was tender and packed with flavor. Additionally, the interactive aspect of guessing the ingredients in some of the dishes added an extra layer of enjoyment to the meal. Overall, Pierre Sang is a fun bistro that offers a unique dining experience with a slight Korean twist.

Yelp
My dining experience at Pierre Sang in Paris was nothing short of extraordinary. The unique concept of being served a multicourse meal without any prior knowledge of what each dish entailed was a thrilling adventure that I won't forget. The staff at Pierre Sang are not only exceptionally skilled, but also incredibly friendly and accommodating. They began by inquiring about any dietary restrictions, ensuring that every guest's needs were met. From there, the evening unfolded as a delightful mystery, with each course presenting a new surprise to savor. What truly impressed me was the interactive element of the dining experience. The servers encouraged us to guess the ingredients and components of each dish before revealing them, adding an extra layer of excitement to the meal. I was pleasantly surprised by how many we guessed correctly (or at least close). Dining at Pierre Sang was a one-of-a-kind experience! If you're looking for a dining experience unlike any other in Paris, look no further than Pierre Sang.

Yelp
Was excited to try Pierre Sang's tasting menu-- had been recommended it by a family friend and also saw great things about it on the internet. We opted for the 5 course tasting menu and for 39 euros, it is definitely a steal. I didn't expect it to be so protein-heavy. It started off with a tuna tartare, followed by salmon, steak, then cheese, and finally dessert. I was stuffed for practically the entire day. The tuna tartare to start was delicious, topped with a creme fraiche that I believe was truffle infused. It was a tad too salty so definitely pair this with a glass of white wine or bread. Salmon was okay, only slightly seared on the outside and with a raspberry sauce which was nice. The steak in my opinion was delicious, but don't expect a filet mignon-type meat. This is more skirt steak style. The fromage was a single block of 24-month aged cheese topped with black pepper. I do wish it was a variety of cheese instead of a big block of one, everyone in my party only had a bite or two and I felt that it was so wasteful. Dessert was chocolate based and paired well with what looked and tasted like mini cranberries. Overall, I wasn't too impressed in terms of creativity/novelty of the dishes. Don't quite know what I expected from Korean French fusion, but it mostly utilized sesame and gochugaru/gochujang and I do think there is more opportunity for experimenting.

Yelp
We were moved to the Loft. This was a bad idea. Smelly walk through alley. Whole night we watched them wash dishes. Food was not hot or cold. This place is a miss. Shame on Pierre Sang for spreading his talent around too many restaurants. The sushi had no flavor. The chicken wrapped in rabbit, wrapped in pork was a strange texture. Dessert was so sour tart we could not eat it. Service was friendly but did not pace the evening well. It felt like a pop-up restaurant and their first night.

Yelp
Best French-Korean fusion restaurant in the area. Staff super friendly and knowledgeable. Good wine recommendations. Funny twist, they let you guess the ingredients after you finished the dish. Pricey but worthless every Euro. Also, ev. Monsieur Sang comes by and says hi and habe a quick chat with you.

Yelp
Very disappointing. We were seated 10 minutes late and the dinner was rushed. We were told French people like tough fish. They would not tell us what was in the meal. It s very loud but that is what is expected in a basement I have eaten here before I will not suggest it again

Yelp
One of my favorite meals in Paris so far! I'm a huge fan of Asian fusion, and this exceeded my expectations in taste and presentation. Loved the entire experience of the blind menu where you guess what you are eating before the waiter tells you - makes it very engaging. Incredible value with only 43 euros for 6 courses that leave you incredibly full. Highly recommend coming here in you are in Paris. I made a reservation online and went to the location in Oberkampf. They sat everyone with a 7PM res down at the same time, and served the courses to everyone at roughly the same time based on when you finish, which I thought was fun. Most people sat at the bar, so we actually got to see the chefs make the food. They serve you a basket of warm bread that they refill (so soft on the inside and crispy on the outside). They'll serve it to you and then tell you what was inside after you finish, which made me more mindful of what I was eating. I did have some trouble understanding the waiter sometimes due to the heavy french accent. Cute interior as well - a good mix of modern yet cozy decor, good for a date. 1 - started off with a light salad with fish roe and some crunchy vegetables, lots of textures and flavors 2 - fish with a kimchi paste below and garnished with pickled vegetables 3 - sweet potato puree with tofu (soy sauce, mirin, seasame oil similar to they way my mom makes it) and wasabi peas, tasted like my childhood so this was probably my favorite dish 4 - braised beef with pickled onion paste, roasted vegetables, samjang (beef wasn't as soft as I expected though) 5 - goat cheese with honey yuzu sauce (similar to the honey citron tea), loved this combination!! definitely will be trying this at home 6 - dessert with citrus sorbet, biscuits, nuts, i liked that it wasn't too sweet but this dish stood out to me the least We also got a bottle of red wine, but that was just mediocre, so I might skip that if I come again. Overall, wonderful experience, food, and atmosphere. The flavors were very familiar since I grew up with Asian food, but all had interesting twists that I wouldn't think to mix together. Definitely come here if you like homemade Asian fusion and aesthetic food :)

Yelp
Second visit here in 6 months. Still perfect. This time was at the loft location. Service a tad slow, I think probably due to loft situation, which is like a small room where people sit at dining hall type situation. Meal was impeccable as always. Got the blind menu. Thank you for another lovely meal, Pierre Sang.

Yelp
Y'all. This was, hands down, our best meal in Paris. For 44 euros a person. Unreal! Book a seat at the counter so you can watch the amazing staff plate each course. Everything was so delicious and unique, and the blind tasting aspect really adds to the experience. Don't miss this one.

Yelp
Very different in a good way. Discovering menus was the most fun part. And the price point is super good
google avatar

Paul C.

Yelp
Blind menu! Such a unique experience of degustation with fresh local ingredients and spices that after each artfully presented dish the staff ask about your own perception of ingredients and then tell you what was in the dish. Definitely a fun and educational experience, more importantly, it makes you taste the fine work and appreciate the details. Will definitely return next time in Paris.

Yelp
I was fortunate enough to score a reservation at this restaurant to try their 5 course tasting menu and it definitely did not dissappoint. I sat at the counter watching all the cooking action. Service was attentive the dishes were explained to me in English. 44 euros was very reasonable for all the delicious food offered. The bistro was cozy to say the least and waitstaff were taking diners downstairs so there must be seating in the lower level. The chef also made an appearance towards the end. I highly recommend.

Laura S.

Yelp
Highly recommend this dinning experience for anyone visiting Paris. The food is unique and not something you would find in any of the other great restaurants in Paris. The wait staff are friendly and knowledgable and their taste-test quizzing throughout the dinner was fun.

Shari D.

Yelp
We had high hopes for the restaurant having read lots of reviews. Firstly, having the food presented without explanation until after eating it was just weird. We have eaten at tasting menus all over the world and part of the unique experience is the presentation of the food as you are eating it. Secondly, we found everything not to our liking. We expected more of a Korean influence in the food and couldn't find it anywhere except some hot sauce on one dish. We found the fish course very "fishy" and the meat course "mushy". We were a group of 4 and all felt like this was a restaurant to be missed.........

Yelp
I was excited to try this place while in Paris but it fell a bit short of expectations (of note, this was June). The restaurant itself is quite cramped (we were seated at the largest high-top) but I enjoyed being able to see what was going on in the kitchen and prep area. The courses were timed well and our server asked us to guess the ingredients in each dish after we finished - a fun game of sorts. The bread and butter was delicious (to be fair, I ate my weight in butter during our time in Paris). The food itself was creative and the presentation lovely, but nothing stood out as terribly memorable. My Korean mother said that she would not have guessed this was a Korean fusion restaurant had I not told her in advance, and it did feel pretty light on that influence with the exception of an occasional sauce or paste like deonjang. And while I love cheese, one course was a literal chunk of cheese on a plate and that felt like a cop out. However, our server was engaging and knew his stuff, which made the experience more fun. Overall, the price is competitive for a 6 course tasting menu and I love the idea. While glad we tried it, I probably won't rush back.

Yelp
I visited Pierre Sang under the recommendation of many foodie blogs claiming that it offers the best tasting menu in Paris for under 100€. It is a must to place a reservation here because it is very popular among tourists and locals alike. We dined during their 9 PM service that lasted close to 2 hours. The menu includes 6 courses, all of which were phenomenal and memorable to say the least. We sat at the bar where we had direct view of the kitchen and plating area - it was like watching a culinary orchestra. The cooks also had conversations with us while they were cooking - I want to give a shout out to the cook named Pierre. He was very funny, talented, and personable - he made our experience at Pierre sang very enjoyable. Pierre sang is the first time I have experienced a French gastronomic tasting menu. Every bite had so much depth of flavor to it and it. Every plate takes your taste buds on a roller coaster of flavors. The presentation, portioning, and quality all make Pierre Sang worthy of a Michelin Star. Great place, thank you for the experience. - Ansel Ponce Diama

Yelp
Really excellent -- can't believe I've forgotten to leave a review after all these years. I always return here when in town, sometimes eating here multiple times at this location or the restaurant on Gambey on one trip. It's a fun idea to have to guess what you're eating. You pay more attention if you will be quizzed, right? They have a great wine selection, too. Most memorable after all these years was a rare moscato. Pure nectar! My only gripe is the cold bread, but otherwise, everything is very tasty. Come, you won't be disappointed. It's a total steal at €39 for 6 courses. Dinner menu changes once a month and lunch changes daily. Although it is a blind menu, they do ask about your dietary restrictions and preferences. Don't be afraid to share. During my second visit (Gambey location), I didn't want seem picky and didn't tell them I cannot eat goat cheese. Sure enough, they served goat cheese and I left my plate untouched. They came by to ask to change my plate for me. This recent trip, I told them my whole family cannot eat goat cheese and the feedback was happily received. I usually book my reservations through The Fork. On a lucky day, as a single diner, I get to walk in.

Yelp
I loved the whole blind menu experience! I will definitely be returning if i ever decide to visit Paris again. Food: 5 Ambience: 5 Service: 5 Overall: 5! When you come here, make sure you make a reservation on their website! You can even prepay there as well. I did the 6 course menu at this location, but if you want to splurge even more, apparantly there are 2 other locations near this one that serve more courses. I won't be telling you what I ate, but let's just say I thought something was duck and it turned out to be something completely different! As the head chef is Korean, you will be experiencing korean fusion food. I was very happy with the entire meal and had a great time figuring out what I was eating. The only thing that made me a bit sour was they charged me again for the meal even though I prepaid online. Multiple people apologized for the mishap and gave me my money back in euros. I'm not mad about it cause i could use more cash on this trip and my credit card doesn't have foreign transaction fees. But it could've been avoided all together. Tip: - If you don't want to pay for bottled water, ask for tap water! - Also, check what they charge you if you've prepaid.

Yelp
Such an incredible experience. The concept of guessing what you're eating encourages you to be much more mindful about the ingredients on the plate, as well opens you up to things you otherwise would never have tried. The food was all cooked wonderfully, and the highlight of the meal was a beef tenderloin with Korean spicy sauce that was just sublime Can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Yelp
On my first night in Paris, and my girlfriends last we dined at Pierre Sang. Not a dry seat in the house, and we had the best. Right where the kitchen prep was. Menu changes daily, and if you have any major dietary restrictions, don't come because no offense, you won't truly enjoy it. If you eat only fish or something, you're fine. They will accommodate you. Come hungry, make sure you're ready for at least a 1.5 hour dining experience. ENJOY! PS: Make a reservation.

Yelp
I was expecting much more. The food was just ok. Interesting favors in some dishes, but we had no clue what we were eating most of the time. The overall dining experience felt clinical. The entire restaurant was seated at the same time and each course came out with everyone else's food. Big trays of plates for all the tables. Wait staff never asked if I needed another drink, never asked if we needed more water (when the bottle was empty) never checked to see if the meal was ok. And it was difficult to get their attention for anything. I wouldn't recommend this place.

Yelp
I discovered Pierre Sang three years ago, had such a great time that I wanted to go back. I had raved about to my friends who live on the outskirts of Paris so much that they wanted to come too. Pressure! I am happy to report my friends were just as enthralled with their dishes as I was three years ago. The biggest disappointment was this time, Pierre Sang was not there. Of course, I understand. I heard the Pierre is opening his third restaurant now. It's just that last time I got lucky -- I got to meet and talk to Pierre, so naturally I hoped. I also wanted to ask him about his lemon verbena liquor (tips) that inspired because my friends to try making some, but an earthquake destroyed the only good batch. We were seated at the bar last time, this time we sat downstairs. It is very loud downstairs. s Because it was so busy and we were so famished (Second seating), the wait staff often didn't explain what our dish was until after we had finished. They simply weren't available. That was one bummer because my friends had never experienced a tasting menu before. (Menu surpris!) From my previous photos, I confirmed that the dinner tasting menu was the same price as three years ago. Thirty-nine Euro. How often does that happen? The wine selection was wonderful, according to my friends who chose the fives bottles of wine and treated us to a marvelous evening in Paris.
google avatar

David Y.

Yelp
Worth the price! The Korean influence on each dish is very apparent, as some dishes draw heavily from certain ingredients or dishes used frequently in many Korean dishes. The overall meal didn't blow anyone's mind, but for the price was definitely worth checking out. We had a combination of fish dishes, duck, beef tartare, cheese, and a fruity and nutty ice cream dessert during our visit in early July. The duck and fish were definitely the highlights of the meal.

Yelp
I'm wavering between a 2 star or a 3 star. There are two Pierre sang next to each other. The oberkampf location is supposedly bistro style with a blind menu of 39 eur while the gambey location is restaurant style and 49 eur for 6 courses. After eating at the oberkampf one I definitely will not consider its more expensive counterpart. The food is good but not mind-blowing and very small in portion. The first starter was a buckwheat soup that was very forgettable. Then a scallop that was good with the nuts and pomegranate. The watercress pesto risotto had more depth with truffle and chorizo. The medium rare duck with Korean bean paste was good. Cantal with honey marmalade was the best dish. Melon ice cream with salty sauce and wasabi and ginger was blah. But what really brings this place down to a 2 star is its service. Their servers seem like amateurs who bring a dish to one table then without serving it bring it to another (the entire restaurant was eating the same thing at the same time downstairs). My mom thought it funny that you wait 10 minutes between. Each dish only to eat it in less than 1 minute. Their bread was really crumbly and the tables become a mess but they don't bother clearing it or give u extra napkins. Empty beer bottles litter the table when they serve the food and they do nothing about it. They don't remember to tell us what dishes we were eating when they take away each course. We asked for the cheque twice before it was brought to us. Yes food is at a reasonable price and their dishes are interesting and well made but you should go there to hang out with friends rather than really enjoy dishes designed by a top chef contender (not winner)

Grace M.

Yelp
We were seated at the bar with a great view of the kitchen, the staff was very welcoming I had 5 courses for 35€ and my friend had 3 courses for 25€ Not every dish was a knockout but 4 out of 5 sent me to heaven and back, especially that veal. I love the concept, every dish brought something creative and flavorful, especially this lime foam on the sorbert and pannacotta we had for dessert. The lunch here was such an amazing value, I feel like we got such a great deal.

Yelp
Amazing! Food was beyond amazing. The service was excellent. I want to come back to Paris just to go back here again. Oh and they are very sensitive to allergies which I totally appreciate!

Yelp
Pierre Sang's original restaurant is such a fun and interesting dinner experience. Get there early and grab a seat at the bar. Let the staff know if you have dietary restrictions or preferences (i.e. no innards/pork/meat...if you don't eat meat or fish they might suggest a 4 course instead of 6 course dinner just FYI. At least that's how it used to be). Dish by dish, the staff will ask you to try to identify what you've eaten, which is actually really hard! I've eaten here a few times, and overall have had really amazing food, save for a couple of dishes. The menu changes all the time, so be prepared to have a completely different meal each time you eat here. Pierre Sang is very welcoming and friendly, and his staff is great. I'm excited to eventually try his newer place on Gambey, but the original is so good that I'm happy to keep coming back.

Susie S.

Yelp
This is our second visit to this restaurant. The staff was friendly and accommodating to our food needs. Since you must guess the ingredients in each course i wish the wait staff had better English translations after you finished each course. In order to make an accommodation for dietary restrictions I think a couple of the courses were lacking that evening. The menu is very reasonably priced for Paris standards.
google avatar

Jameson O.

Yelp
Make a reservation early. We didn't - 6:30 pm for a 9:00 pm seating same day - and caused a bit of confusion. However, the host made room for us in a booked house when I showed our confirmation email. The dinner was excellent. Excellent. And the "eat the food first, guess what you ate, then we'll tell you" model was really fun. It was a packed place and it was a totally worthwhile experience.

Yelp
What's a lone woman to do when in Paris? Eat her way through the city, duh. Headed to Pierre Sang last week to taste Korean/French fusion (already the thought of the combo blowing my mind) and I wasn't disappointed! Sat at the "bar" up top and watched the chefs go to work. I hate being surprised, but if it's with food I'm game. Loved the concept of eating first, guessing later cus it made me slowwww my roll and really taste the food. It's a fixed menu, so sit back and relax. Everyone here was super nice and the cuisine was so unique. I thought it was a STEAL. 6 courses and wine for around $60.

I was able to snag a reservation at Pierre Sang and I have to say that it was by far my best meal in Paris. What was interesting is that this particular meal was done as a blind menu, meaning we weren't going to know what we ate until after the fact. I came in to this meal not expecting that so it came as quite the surprise. I was definitely not let down. A 7 course meal for $60USD is an absolute steal at this level of execution. When I eat at new restaurants, I come to eat stuff that I've never tried before. I call it an epiphany, or an "ah-ha!" moment. My fiancée and I definitely had that here with a dried chorizo barley dish and we were definitely impressed. I tried to get last minute reservations to the other Pierre Sang restaurants on the same trip but I was unsuccessful. There's no doubt in my mind I will try this food again if I am ever in Paris again.

Yelp
Vegan review here. I came to Pierre Sang with a group of 6. When we told them I was vegan and one other person was Kosher so didn't eat certain meats they were totally cool with it. There's no menu so you don't choose what you get. The meal is 6 courses for 39 Euros. The fun part is they don't tell you what you're eating until after each course - so when they come to take the plates they ask you what ingredients you think were in the course and it's like a game to see who can get it. Then the waiter tells you what it was - there were some surprises or things no one could quite pinpoint. After the meal we all agreed it was a bargain for the creativity and quality of the food. It's been a few weeks so I can't recall everything in detail but I especially loved the first course, a watermelon/melon gazpacho with tabasco sauce, and the pineapple curry sorbet. In about half the courses I got the same dish as everyone else minus a few things. In other courses I was actually given a substitution. There was one course where they accidentally gave me a poached egg and another where they brought the Kosher diner something non-kosher but the staff replaced the dishes, so if you have an allergy or are on a restrictive diet, just look at what you got first. Overall a wonderful experience. The menu changes weekly and I wish I was there for another week so I could have tried more!

Yelp
Eating at Pierre Sang is a bit like watching a celebrity cooking show. One minute the chef is talking to you about something random, the next he is putting an expertly cooked and plated dish in front of you. I'm always surprised when it happens - how do they do it so smoothly and effortlessly?! Of course, the best part is that you get to judge this cooking show. And trust me, you want to. These guys are truly world class.

Yelp
My wife and I found this restaurant at the last minute to grab dinner on the last night of our trip to Paris celebrating our anniversary. What a send off. We couldn't have been more delighted and enamored with what we experienced. We didn't have reservations, which you definitely should have, but the staff was able to accommodate us after a brief wait. The entire staff, including Pierre (who happened to hold the door open for us when we walked in; we didn't know who he was at the time), was warm, gracious, welcoming, and exuded passion for the craft of fine food and wine. We chose to do the 6 dishes with 6 wine pairings. Each dish was meticulously crafted, flavorful, unique, delicious, with a series of complex flavors, and provided for a wonderful culinary experience. Each glass of wine was also carefully selected and well balanced. I've had a lot of wine in my life from various parts of the world and the selection that accompanied the food was simply perfect. To potential visitors: if you aren't ready to trust and appreciate a seasoned and passionate group of culinary professionals look elsewhere. If you aren't able to appreciate the subtle details (decor, music, etc.) that result in a restaurant's character look elsewhere. If you aren't someone that enjoys trying new things or connecting with the people who serve you look elsewhere. If you are looking for a quiet and uninterrupted meal look elsewhere. Lastly, thank you Pierre Sang and team! P.S. If you're ever in Southern California you should check out a restaurant called the Playground (and Playground 2.0) in Santa Ana. You're experience reminds me of theirs.

Yelp
This was one stops we wanted to eat in Paris The menu is Omakse French style and a Michelin star resultant The menu is chosen by the chef so you eat what they give yon matter what they serve it's amazing For 39 euros for dinner this is a great Michelin star restaurant at a budget

Yelp
My family and I were in Paris for 8 days and this was by far the best food and experience we had. My husband and daughter can't have any kind of fish or seafood and they accommodated them perfectly. I was not adept enough at the French language to order in this restaurant, but our waiter spoke perfect English. Pierre even came down to the cellar and greeted all the customers there. I loved, loved this experience.

Yelp
Super laid-back place. Had hard time finding it b/c the name of it is only on the door and the door was opened in; so we went back and forth before we recognized the chef. He was just sitting outside, drinking wine and talking with friends. Seemed super friendly. Actually, all the staff were friendly. Got to talking with the Korean chefs. He said all the staff used to work at 2 or 3 Michelin star places so they were highly qualified and pros, but they love working at this rather small establishment. Got the 6 course dinner at 9pm. Got there at 8:30 and were served wine and also on-the-house bread with cheese toasted on top. Each course was pretty small in looks but big on flavor, creative in combinations, and totally filling by the end of the night. Just remember you will be charged for "fresh gaz," which is sparkling water, if you opt for that versus still.

Yelp
Amazing service hands down. We arrived with our 2 kids in tow before opening and they sat us at the bar as we didn't have a reservation. My 1 yr old daughter was getting anxious grabbing for anything in sight, so the sous chef gave her some salt to play with (not sure this was a great idea but sweet nonetheless). Later we left our son at the bar with the cooks while we changed our daughter's diaper and came back to Pierre hand feeding him steak which he had diced into smaller pieces just for him! Other patrons were jealous that our son was getting hand fed by the chef! As for the food, we loved the 6 course tasting menu where we guessed the ingredients after it was served. I especially liked the fish with bok choy. Would highly recommend this place and will be going back!

Yelp
This review is mostly for the cooking with the chef experience. My Amateur Chef training continues in Paris the fantastic chef @wallantime of @pierre_sang Pierre is a #michelinstar chef who owns three Korean French Fusion restaurants in Paris where you can enjoy a unique open kitchen 5 course (Secret menu) bar dining experience for only 35€. They don't disclose the ingredients beforehand. After you try, you guess and then tell you. My day began visiting a local farmers market to select the freshest ingredients of my choosing: I chose Scallop in the shell, whole Mackerel, leaks, fennel, zucchini, shallots, onions, and yellow beats. We made Zucchini purée, fresh yellow beat ribbons, scallop (remains) Au Jus with leak, fennel, onions and Amaretto, Buerre Blanc sauce with shallots, pan roasted Scallops and Mackerel. Once finished we both called upon our creative abilities to come up with our best plating.

Yelp
Came here for the 40 euro 6 course dinner and i am very satisfied! I was a bit nervous coming here because fusion can go really badly but the french and korean mix here was great. They serve you each course and then tell you after (in french) what it was. My french is horrible so I don't remember all the little details. Ps. they keep a fresh basket of sour dough bread on the table - major bonus points! Ok so heres the run down... 1st of all the waitress was a B because she never brought us bread and we had to ask for it. everyone around us had a basket as per usual. I personally think it is because I didn't speak french. who knows. 1st course - some butternut squash soup. Nothing crazy but it was good. I thought the portion for this was reallly small because legit its just soup. 2nd course - small crab bits and clams mixed together with mayo on top of some vegetable i don't know. A few veggie chips on the side (i wish this was just the whole plate haha). I didn't enjoy this course, and one of my clams was sandy inside. 3rd - this is where it starts to get interesting! So it was fish cheek and this was one of the most interesting dishes i have ever had. the fish was SOOOOOOO tender, SOO AMAZING. It was seasoned only lightly and I kept wondering if the fish was raw or not because the texture was so strange. It looked raw but I was not sure it tasted raw. Doesn't matter though because now I want to eat all the fish cheeks. Plus each cheek was about a quarter of the size of my palm. really wondering how big the fish must be! There were some random fruits on the side (mango?)and then a mystery green sauce that went so well with everything. 4th - ONGLET FOR THE WIN. ok. this was steak. a fantastic piece of onglet (the best I have ever had in this cut). It was a perfectttt medium rare served alongside a kimchi foam with kimchi on the bottom (too spicy for me). Then there was some spicy korean paste on the side which I wish they gave more of (we asked for the name of the sauce and will go buy it in a korean supermarket). ps this portion was surprisingly big- major points haha 5th - cheese. boringggggggg. this was a complete rip off. We came expecting a 6 course meal prepared in house and you serve cantal cheese? no thanks 6th - dessert. SO interesting. There was a coffee ice cream. some other werid sweet paste ( i think cararmel?) and then a CELERY foam with some random granola/nuts on the side. sounds so werid, but honestly mixed together it just worked so well. So while 50% of the meal didn't impress me. The other half was seriously interesting and delicioussss. I would be curious to come back and try lunch or come again at dinner when the menu is different.

Yelp
NICE FOOD! We went there on a Saturday for lunch, and at €25 for a 3-course meal, I think this is one of the best value-for-money restaurants I know in Paris :) It is a surprise chef's menu, but they ask you before starting if there is anything that you don't eat / don't like and adapt the dishes if needed. On the day we went, we has octopus as starter, amaaazing pigeon as main, and the most wonderful litchi-shizo dessert. Each plate is gorgeous (they really know how to make food look good) and quite subtle, with lots of uncommon veggies and spices. Everything was truly, truly delicious - including the bread and butter (I had to pace myself in order to NOT look like I had been starving myself for a week before coming here). Beware though, it can feel a bit hipster / arrogant - water costs €2.50, there are 4-5 different waiters for not that many customers the day we went, and the waiters kinda told us that the other Pierre Sang restaurant that will soon be opening next door would be a bit above our means - I don't think he realized that it could be an offensive way of saying that it would be more expensive. But the food is so good that you don't care!

Yelp
This is one of the best meals I've had during my one-week stay in Paris! We came in for lunch time and didn't have to wait and got seated right away next to the kitchen counter. The concept is unique where they serve you food without telling you what it is until after you eat it. Almost like a game. Per the chefs, they change the menu twice a day, everyday. The chefs at the kitchen appear extremely passionate about their work and when they're not cooking, I saw them making sketches of their dishes and writing ingredients and trying out different sauces. They have a true appreciation for their work and work everyday to hone their craft. All staff members spoke English and I had no issues with communication. Overall incredible meal and dining experience. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Had a six course meal with my girlfriends here. We loved everything about this place. Service was excellent, food was amazing. I think it's the best bargain in town. Full house. Make your reservations. Definitely will be back.

Yelp
I liked this place. Interesting Asian twist on French food! 6 courses although one is cheese as one of the other reviews indicated, but that was okay for me. Their ingredients were some of the freshest I have tasted here. I like the experience this place offers as it is a total surprise to what you will be served! They do inquire about food allergies and so forth prior to the commencement of the meal! I really loved how all the ingredients used were nothing on their own but together made masterpieces. The service was good and in fact I always appreciate honesty. We were about to order another wine that was more expensive when the host suggested another comparable one at a much more reasonable cost. I just loved that and they will continue to have my business on my next trip here!

Yelp
Love the concept and story behind the chef. Went here with a friend who's friends with the chef, so we got to chat with Pierre for a bit-- very nice and humble man. We got the surprise menu and wine pairing- all were very nice. We've had lunch here before as well when they had their Korean rice bim on special- interesting mix of popcorn with rice and veggies.

Yelp
The food was great. We had the 6 plates for 39 euros. It's a blind menu, meaning they don't tell you what you're going to have until they bring your food out. They have decent wine and will pair it with the food. Wine sold separately of course. For 2 people we paid 116 euros for the dinner and 2 glasses of wine. Nice experience but not over the top to earn 5 stars.

Yelp
Pierre Sang proposes an interesting offer: a low-cost tasting menu. 6 dishes for 40€. The idea is nice, I like the idea of proposing something extremely affordable but with a little bit more thinking into it, especially if we are speaking about asian fusion. I do suggest to ask them to eat downstair, it's much nicer and calm, rather than eating in front of the door where the space is tight and you'll end up with several people waiting for their tables behind your back! All in all it was a fairly decent meal, dishes were not exceptional nor refined, but for 2/3 of what I paid elsewhere at least the composition of them was not conceptually wrong. Sure a lot of things can be improved, and sincerely from a Korean-French fusion I do expect much more, but flavours are definitely there and skills displayed are at a good level. I don't want to be too mean with this place, but you know the kind of place where everything was just "fair" and you can definitely recognize some effort has been put into, but the whole things was just not that good to make it get to the upper level. A 3.5 stars experience that may get to a 4 on a better menu.
