8/2/25 My husband and I came to Pietana for our weekly date night and it did not disappoint! I ordered the Brussels and Taters after seeing a fresh plate come out of the kitchen. It looked too good to pass up and tasted just as amazing. Super flavorful and really filling. My husband got their traditional wings, and they were finger-lickin’ good. We found out they fire roast the wings instead of frying them in grease, which we loved. Everything was made to order but came out pretty fast and so flavorful. Our waitress Isabella was so sweet and helped us figure out what to try for our first time. We’ll definitely be back!

Nice little restaurant. The pizza was OK but needed to be crispier. The salad was nice. The corn ribs were the best thing we had. Service was great. There is very limited parking so plan to park down the street.

One of the best meal I’ve ever had, seriously! Tiramisu - fantastic! We had Jexica pizza (garlic white sauce instead of tomato) - just wow, so tasty!

Fun casual spot. Great pizza crust and sauce, but the highlight was the baked spaghetti squash with fresh mozzarella. So yummy. I hear the vegetable dishes are a highlight and change frequently.

Google
Zac is the One of the best servers in town. If you see a curly red headed individual, that’s Zac definitely request him as he will definitely take care of you. Pietana Has an amazing atmosphere with great food. Plus some of the cheapest drinks in town for the overall experience. A must try while in town or if you live here in Lexington. One of my favorite spots that I frequent 2 to 3 times a week.

Cute cute cute .....loved the pizza had the brussel sprouts and potatoes rate them a 6 but pizza 9.0

Stopped in here to eat with my friend and 3 grandsons while we were in Lexington. We each had a different pizza and salad and both were undoubtedly some of the best pizza and salad I have ever eaten. Service was also great. Would highly recommend this place.

Google
Service was the worst I have experienced so far. We went on a Thursday for dinner, and we were sat quickly with plenty of open seats, but we then waited 45 minutes to even place our order. We ended up going to the bar to place our order as our server walked past us multiple times with no acknowledgement. She got our drink order after waiting about 30 minutes and would not take our food order when she brought our drinks. She also never brought us menus, but had told us that she would be bringing them. We just had to use the menu online. They never once apologized, even when we had to go up to the bar to order and stated we had been waiting 45 minutes. The pizza was great though!

Yelp
Such a cozy venue, the bar seats looked so comfortable! We ordered the lunch specials : my husband did the Buffalo chicken and I ordered a pick two toppings personal size pizza, pineapple and pepperoni. it was so amazing. It comes with salad and a drink and the salad was pretty great! The server was so quick and helpful with the menu!

Yelp
Great local place. Amazing outdoor seating, great food, and friendly service. Also can order from the restaurant next door (rosemont station) if not feeling pizza which is a great option.

Yelp
PieTana has wonderful intimate cozy vibe, delicious pizza, sandwiches, wings, cocktails and beer. And it is a really great value for sure. The pizzas are imaginative and delicious and the wings are fantastic -really special wing experience if you like chicken wings. I can not recommend PieTana enough. Go! You won't regret it!

Yelp
PieTana was a wonderful dining experience! Its a small restaurant that specializes in pizza (obviously), but does them very well. Upon entering the restaurant, the ambiance is reminiscent of a low-key establishment that the locals try to keep hidden from tourists. Our waitress was incredibly nice and accommodating, despite the restaurant being near capacity, our service was quick and timely. We split the wings and a pizza, which was fairly filling for 2 people. The wings were some of the bigger and juicer wings that I have been able to find. While they don't have multiple sauces/flavors, they use a dry rub with chimichurri on top that they were able to make spicier for us. They were delicious! Our pizza was the Vinnie, a meat lovers pie with local brisket, sausage, pepperoni, and onions which came out piping hot with a crisp crust. We look forward to coming back again!

Yelp
Was just there with my wife this Friday night. Sat there for 24 mins and no one greeted us, ask us for a drink or anything. I finally went inside to try and order a drink and ask for menus and I was told a server would be with us soon. We waited 5 more mins and finally left. 0 out of 10, would not return or recommend if you want food or drinks..

Yelp
OH.MY.GOSH... incredible food and relaxed atmosphere. We were starving, happened to look it up, and soooo glad we stopped. Little place, we normally would have passed by, but now we have a TREASURE to visit on game day!

Jessica O.

Yelp
Dude this food. This pizza changed my life. If you want local, this is it. If you want pizza that will change your life, this is it. Reasonable prices honestly amazed. The atmosphere is very homey very chill. Brick oven pizza, practically homemade. Freshly made downright amazing.

Yelp
I'm glad I read the reviews because I was not expecting it be in a shack/bar.... But I was expecting to have low standards as far as the facility. When we walked in everyone at the bar turned around to look at us and I thought maybe I was at the wrong place lol But the food was very tasty. The wings were super tasty. Smoky, crispy, and the chimichurri was a nice touch. We got the Vinni and... the one with beer cheese. They were both really good! Thankfully the wings had a little arugula a peppers because needed a vegetable after all of that. The server was grumpy at first, but lightened up after a while and was nice. I'll definitely go back, especially when the patio is open!
google avatar

Yelp
The wings...THE WINGS! Ok. The pizza was good, I had the Vinnie. My husband had just straight pepperoni and it was tasty. But those wings! I can't even begin to tell you how delicious they were.

James T.

Yelp
The loud heavy metal music did not match the atmosphere of the restaurant and really ruined the evening. I could not get out of there fast enough. The table was sticky with crumbs from the last patron. My wife had to ask for the table to cleaned. Second time Ive been there and will be the last.

E O.

Yelp
Waitress greeted us kindly the second we walked in the door. Food wasnt too long. A little tough for our tiny tikes but they had music playing and clean bathrooms. Food was excellent. For 5 we got an order of vegetables, the bare bones, and one pie. (3 small kids and 2 adults) We all ate for under 50$ which was nice. We got a Becky B pie which is a very creamy and dense pie with different flavors. I recommend trying this place.
google avatar

Aaron D.

Yelp
Stopped in here for dinner today and it was very good! Got the Becky B without spinach and the Sir Francis. Nanas knots were my favorite! Would recommend!

Jesse K.

Yelp
This place was a fantastic surprise! Walked in to a great looking bar, the food was fantastic, and had a home service feel. On top of all of that, lunch for $10 was ridiculously cheap! Easily pay double that elsewhere for half the quality

Yelp
I think have found our new favorite pizza place! Came tonight for the first time and it definitely won't be the last. We started with the Pizza Bones with cheese and followed them with the Vinnie and the Baber Beer Cheese. Everything was amazing! Next time we will be skipping the yummy breadsticks because we ended up being too full to truly enjoy our pizzas.
google avatar

Yelp
PieTana has become my favorite place to get pizza in Lexington. They really have some interesting pizza combinations and really good appetizers too. The chicken wings are amazing. I will be back just for the chicken wings!
google avatar

Drew G.

Yelp
Great pizza, great options! They had their pizza oven shipped from Italy to California and the owner grove across the country to pick it up. This place is excellent. They have a great vibe inside and a nice outside tent with picnic tables. I look forward to coming back.
google avatar

Darren F.

Yelp
The brick oven pizza here is delicious. Plenty of unusual choices on the menu as well as creating your own. Mediterranean salad pairs well. Nice selection of draft beers.
google avatar

Jim T.

Yelp
It's a junky little house, but they make fine pizza. No ambiance, if that's important to you.

Yelp
We walked about 10 minutes from our Airbnb in Lexington to get a tasty pizza dinner at Pietana. The service was quick and friendly and it seemed like a really nice, kinda quaint locals joint, which is always cool. We sat outside and the vibe was quiet and relaxed. My husband and I shared the marguerite pie, because I was feeling simple, and it was really delicious. The crust, apparently made with beer-enhanced dough, was tasty and flavorful but I'd say the only reason I knocked off a star for this review is for my personal preference of a crispier crust, I felt the texture wasn't all there. The sauce was quite good, and the garden salad we shared beforehand was full of good stuff and tasted fresh. If we happened to stay in a similar area in Lexington again I'd definitely try another pie at Pietana.

Yelp
This place was really amazing, great food, atmosphere and service. When I first arrived I wasn't so sure what the service would be like because they handed me plates, asked me to seat myself, and told me they were only one serving and they just sat several parties. I didn't mind as we weren't in a hurry but the service was exceptional! They were really attentive our food game out quick once we ordered. Kudos to the team for over delivering! Now for the food everything I had was good with a few things that out shined others. Pictured Items Brussels and Taters - unique flavors that blended well together. Pizza Bones with Cheese - I could have eaten ever last bite and the sauce to dip was amazing. Chicken Wings - good flavor just not cooked the best in my opinion. Jexica - good but too wet made the crust soggy and messy Vinnie - this was really good but was a little over topped for me so ended up eating toppings than crust. Marguerite - the best, lots of flavor and crispy. Churro - these were good but wasn't the fan of the filling inside. Non Pictured Items Becky B - really unique but a little too spicy for me. The Colonel - surprisingly my favorite, I think it's the garlic cream sauce. Sir Francis - - if you like pickles I'll be back!

Yelp
Veggie plate to die for. Here for a graduation party cute room next door for parties. !

Yelp
Genuinely one of my favorite places in Lexington, and probably the entire world. The staff is the best, and you really can't beat a local beer, their incredible pizza, and I'd toss in an order of wings. Ready for it to warm up so we can hang on their patio all summer!

Jeff C.

Yelp
Fantastic. Definitely a place to come back to. We tried the Vinny and some Nama knots. 5 stars. If you are looking for table cloths and candles. Keep looking. This is your locals pizza joint with some unique and very tasty toppings.
google avatar

Yelp
Adorable little pizza spot in the middle of a neighborhood. Tiny and seat yourself; a cozy welcoming vibe. Ordered ours to go this time but will return for the in-house experience. We started with the Greek Salad - good flavor combo, could have lived without the additional salt the meat adds. Ordered two pizzas - Marguerite and Uncle Collin. The Marguerite was good but not great - dough is a bit too thick and not quite enough of the basil to pop thru. Uncle Collin was a fun and different combo - yummy and will reheat well (an important nut underrated pizza quality). Will return to check out these options and more in person.

Yelp
Didn't plan on eating here but restaurant across the street's kitchen was closing. Man, we are so glad it ended up that way. Everything was just top notch. Service, atmosphere, and more importantly the food. We got the Mr. Collins pizza, a house salad and the churros for dessert. Perfect size and price was well worth every penny. If we were here for a limited time, I'd definitely eat here again.
google avatar

Jeremy R.

Yelp
This was my first time eating at PieTana and it definitely did not disappoint. We tried the Bonnie's Breakfast Pie and the Vinny. Both were delicious! Bonnie's Breakfast had cheese, bacon and gravy instead of pizza sauce. All with 2 fried eggs on top. Literally perfection. The Vinny uses Blue Door Bbq which was equally delicious. Be sure to try both of these! The location is very easy to find. Parking wasn't an issue. We did park in front so I'm not sure if there is additional parking elsewhere. Obviously, due to COVID, they did follow mask guidelines and social distancing. We will be back soon!

Fat Man Reviews K.

Yelp
Over the past weekend, Fat Man Reviews ventured out to PieTana in Lexington, KY. PieTana is a pizza shop that cooks with a wood-fired oven, This is the home of the Lexington style crust, they use West 6th Amber Ale in their pizza crusts. We started with the Pizza Bones with Cheese. The bones are their bread sticks with cheese, they are served with fresh marinara and house made garlic cream sauce. The dough was cooked to perfection and the cheese was melted to a golden brown. There was a good chew and a buttery flavor to this dish. The marinara was slightly chunky and had a great tomato flavor. The cream sauce had a hint of sweetness, but it was more cream than garlic. A Fat Man pro-tip, mix the sauces. We also tried their Signature Wings. They are spritzed with fresh lemon juice, coated with Parmesan cheese and bourbon smoked paprika then topped with chimichurri and served with bleu cheese. The wings were juicy and cooked perfectly, the lemon juice and the chimi was wonderful. The bleu cheese was chunky and great. The Parmesan cheese was a bit burnt and that flavor came through some. But make no mistake, these are excellent wings. We also tried the Vinnie pizza. This comes with tomato sauce, mozzarella, Blue Door smoked brisket, bacon pepperoni, red onion and Marksbury Farm Italian sausage. The crust is amazing and unique, the amber ale adds a new level to the flavor. The pizza was pretty good all around, however the sausage and brisket were cooked before and when reheating it makes them a little tough and extra greasy, in my opinion. The pepperoni was great, and the bacon was chopped thick. PieTana is a very small joint, but they do have a patio that is open in the warmer months. They serve draft and bottled beer, and they have a full bar. The menu offers salads, appetizers, signature pies that are all named after the Nealey family and a build your own option. The Fat Man says that PieTana is Fat Man Approved.

Yelp
Service was odd here; it was pick a table and seat yourself, but then (in theory) regular table service. On the day I dropped in, service was terrible, not because of any particular malfeasance, but because we were told they had only one person waiting tables. She seemed busy. You might guess on a Monday night the place wouldn't be full, but it was packed, and they clearly needed more staff. But let's leave that behind for a second. I customized my pizza with a chimichurri drizzle (a parsley and hot pepper sauce), which I rather liked, and a corn relish, which was too soggy and didn't add much. The cheese on mine was heavy, but kind of mediocre; I eyed the buffalo mozzarella on a margherita and wondered if I'd be happier with that instead. The crust had a few nice charred bits, but otherwise wasn't special. They might be better staffed on another day, but I wasn't convinced that the pizza was anything more than okay.

Yelp
Love this place. Recommended by the girlfriend. It's great cozy place with really good pizza. Looking forward to going back.

Yelp
This is an easy place to miss and not know about. I got a take out pizza, just had a drink while I waited. I do think they have some cool options on the menu though, def cant get at every pizza place, and it was very good. I don't get pizza out as much as other people, I'll be back though!
google avatar

Brittney K.

Yelp
I'm so excited I finally tried this cute pizza joint. It's small on the inside but wow the pizza was delicious. I definitely recommend the Jexica with prosciutto, arugula, mozzarella and chimichurri. The crust was the perfect combination of crispiness and softness and the flavors blended so well.

Yelp
Pitana is one of Lexington's best pizza joints located in Southland on Rosemont Dr. This is one of my top two pizza places in Lexington. inside this quaint building you will find some very delicious and creative pizzas as well as great appetizers and wings. It's also very cool that they use products from other local restaurants in their pies! Have you ever been sitting at home wondering why nobody has made a pizza using Winchell's sausage gravy? Nope, not me either. But the creative geniuses at Pietana have with their Bonnie's Breakfast Pie. But I'm not here to tell you about that, my wife has to draw the line somewhere :). However, let me tell you about the Jexica and the Sir Francis! All of Pietana's pizzas are cooked in their wood fired oven and will not disappoint! The Jexica is Olive oil, buffalo mozzarella, prosciutto, roma tomato, asparagus, arugula, and chimichurri, which is one of my favorites on the menu (especially great if you can't handle tomato sauces). The Sir Francis comes with cheddar cheese, Blue Door smoked brisket, red onion, pickle, BBQ sauce drizzle and will knock your socks off! If you're a BBQ person, Blue Door and Double H BBQ are the best two places in town. In the mood for an appetizer or you are a vegetarian? The Veggie Board, Brussel and Brussels and Taters are roasted in the oven and are big enough to share or just make a meal out of them. The wings are also a treat. Not traditional at all, these wings are cooked in the wood fired oven also. You get 6 bone-in wings, coated with lemon juice, parmesan cheese, bourbon-smoked paprika. Charred off, topped with chimichurri. Served with bleu cheese. Definitely a delicious original recipe! To top it all off, the beer and bourbon selections are plentiful and reasonably priced. Stop in and find this hidden gem in one of Lexington's coolest neighborhoods!

Amy B.

Yelp
Best pizza in Lexington! And Nana's garlic knots! WOW! Fantastically delicious!! I will be back again and again!

Yelp
PieTana has been on my list of places to try for a while now so made a point to stop in this weekend. Overall, it was just ok. We needed something fairly quick for an early dinner before a concert so came in a little before 6. Apparently a lot of others had the same idea as it was packed. Luckily we were able to snag a parking space at the recently closed taco shop across the street. All tables were full so a seat at the bar worked out just fine. The person working the tables seemed like they wanted to be anywhere but there and came off as straight up rude on multiple occasions. Luckily we were at the bar and the server/bartender was friendly. Our group ordered the pizza bones, Vinnie, and the Colonel. The Colonel has an off taste to me, but the others thought it was fine. The Vinnie was the favorite though. I wasn't able to tell from the pictures how large the pizzas were. From the pricing you'd think fairly large. It really depends on how big of an eater you are but for me, one pizza is too much for a single person but maybe not enough for 2 hungry people. If you plan to have a few drinks, one pie will do though.

Yelp
Pietana is the quintessential neighborhood pizza joint, bar, and hangout. We love this place for its gourmet approach to both pizza, sides (the Brussels and taters are amazing) and the frequently changing specials. Do yourself a favor and head over to the tracks on Rosemont Garden. And remember: when the train goes by, the train shots are just $1.
google avatar

Amanda S.

Yelp
PieTana is a great local spot for pizza! Tucked away near the train tracks on Rosemont Garden, PieTana makes awesome wood fired pizzas and extras. They offer a decent beer and drink menu as well as plenty of outdoor seating. My favorite dish is the "veggie board" which features roasted cauliflower, asparagus, carrots, brussel sprouts, and red onion flower on arugula, topped with chimichurri. My husband's favorite pizza is "The Vinny" which is topped with Blue Door Smokehouse brisket, bacon, pepperoni, Marksbury Farm Italian sausage, and red onion. Word on the street is that when a train goes by, patrons can ask for an on-the-house shot; I haven't taken them up on it yet but plan to on my next visit! PieTana offers take-out as well, make sure to think of them when supporting local businesses!
google avatar

Claire R.

Yelp
Great local pizza option! It does have a small inside, but during the warmer months it looks like you can sit outside. I'm not sure what they added to their mozzarella cheese, but whatever it is gives it a pop and a delicious flavor. Also, it tasted like they added garlic salt to the crust and that was a fun surprise. Great size for a personal pizza, even some leftovers. Really neat restaurant and delicious food.
google avatar

Liana B.

Yelp
This place is awesome and I'm so glad we went. We decided to try it after my boyfriend had passed it several times on his way to work. We were not disappointed. It's right off the road but the back "patio" is hidden. You have to walk through an alley way to get to it, or there's seating in the front. The back is under a large white tent, lined with picnic tables, lights, plants, and tv projectors. You can even see the train passing by. We ordered the specials: a chicken bacon ranch pizza and chicken wings. The pizza was phenomenal. It's a small portion but it was still enough for two to share. This version of CBR also included spinach and a white garlic base sauce. It was excellent. The wings were the only negative of our experience- we thought they needed to be cooked 3-4 minutes as the tops of them were crispy, but the bottoms were soggy. This place gets a 5 star for the ambience, location and pizza. We will definitely be back.
google avatar

Joseph Z.

Yelp
I must be missing something here as our pizza was just ok. Nothing special... It was absolutely swimming with sauce to the point that it made everything a soggy mess. Could not be picked up and eaten. Our server noticed this after bringing it to the table and had it remade

Teena P.

Yelp
Definitely our favorite pizza!! Delicious crust with high quality fresh toppings. Friendly staff also. We just get it to go as they are always crowded so I wish they had more seating.
google avatar

Shelby C.

Yelp
Delicious pizza and great service. Our server, Owen was fantastic and handled our large party with ease. The pizzas were amazing- 10/10 I do wish the draft list was a little more extensive.

Casey C.

Yelp
good food and good service. cute place! slightly expensive for the size. good menu as well

Yelp
Just stumbled across this little gem...Wow!!! Super friendly staff, excellent pizza, Piehole shots when the train passes! Can't wait to spend summer evenings on the patio! Bike and pet friendly too
google avatar

DJ J.

Yelp
Called ahead for take out. Our order was ready in about 25 minutes. Loved the crispy wood fired crust. We started with the Brussels N Taters which was very good. We had the a couple of the specialty pies, the Vinnie with some good smoked brisket, the Margarite and a build your own. If you are looking for a some good wood fired pizza, stop in if you are in the neighborhood.
google avatar

Tonya L.

Yelp
This was such a great pizza! I'm not sure how I had never heard of the restaurant before, but I'll definitely come back. I love brick oven pizza. The crust was perfect, not too chewy. I ordered pepperoni, mushroom, mozzarella, and feta. The mushrooms were delicious. You can tell most of the people at the restaurant are regulars. Very friendly people!
google avatar

Melody T.

Yelp
I love this spot. So much more than pizza - sandwiches, roasted Brussels sprouts, and delicious iced tea. Service was friendly, attentive without being intrusive. Great value as well.
google avatar

Jason R.

Yelp
Didn't expect too much here as the place is pretty small and also has a bar. Wow was I wrong. Pizza was outstanding. We got a cheese and a Marhgerita, both were excellent. Service was great and although it was small the atmosphere was excellent. If you like a good brick oven pie, you definitely need to try this place.
google avatar

Jennifer W.

Yelp
I love this little pizza place. They have such a good variety of pizza. My favorite one is the sir Francis with blue door smokehouse brisket and pickles, I thought it sounded weird but it's so good! While it's a smaller place you can go across the street to rosemont station and order! I love that service they give for that reason. Hope you try it out yourself!
