Here’s Where to Spend 36 Food and Wine-Filled Hours in Lodi - Eater SF

"“Everyone does their stint at Pietro’s,” one winery tasting room associate explained of a typical high school job in town. “It’s like a rite of passage here in Lodi.” And for good reason. Everyone seems to love Pietro’s. The Murdacas first started the family restaurant in the 1950s in Vacaville; a few decades later, in 1985, Pietro Murdaca and his son Jim opened the Lodi spot, and it’s been going strong ever since. The classic Italian restaurant features local wines, pasta, and hearty southern Italian dishes. A lovely demonstration garden welcomes guests out front and supplies herbs and vegetables for the dining room. In winter, start with tender housemade meatballs in a bed of chunky tomato sauce, and stay cozy with a primi of tagliatelle in pork sausage, veal, and porcini bolognese. Absolutely do not miss dessert, from the butterscotch budino to the salted caramel-mocha gelato pie. The latter, a layered ice cream presentation with a crunchy crust, is impossibly light for something so rich." - Laura Smith Borrman

Our party of five had a great meal in a relaxed atmosphere even though Pietro's was busy. A reservation was necessary. The gnocchi, ox tail, and pasta dishes were excellent. Nice water and wine selections. The homegrown tomatoes on the bruschetta were a flavorful treat. Service was pleasant and efficient. I am looking forward to the planned changes, another satisfying experience in the near future.

Dining in for Father’s Day celebration. I’ve been here many times before. Always welcoming. We asked for outdoor seating. Great Ambiance. Our server was great. Food was great. Although, they can do better on the 3 skinny asparagus included on the "Catch of the day". Kinda wilted. Til our next dine in! I forgot to also mention. We were seated in a tight/narrow spot. Where our server was having a hard time getting our food on our table. See last photo.

I love this restaurant! Every dish has been absolutely delicious! We ordered their specialties. Homemade pasta and fresh halibut over risotto cooked perfectly!

This place is always busy so I would recommend making reservations. We enjoy coming here and will often sit at the bar to eat if we don’t have reservations. The portion sizes are big enough for two. As you can see from the photos, the salad and chicken were both large portions. Nice staff who are attentive and the restaurant has a really nice outdoor dining area.

On Friday, June 6, 2025, we dined at Pietro's Trattoria in Lodi and was thoroughly disappointed. The bread contained a long hair, which I almost swallowed, causing discomfort as it stuck in my throat and mouth. I recommend that customers be cautious when eating here. Our orders included Calamari Fritti as an appetizer, Braised Oxtail for my husband, and Beef Market Cut for me.

Food was very average tasting-ordered Amatriciana, chicken parmigiana, bruschetta. Would not try again. Hospitality and atmosphere is amazing.

Yelp
The food was so good! We had the chicken parm and it was to die for. Our server Madi was so attentive. She gave great suggestions and made our son's birthday celebration really special with a delicious tiramisu. Can't wait to come back.

Yelp
First time there for lunch. The warm bread is amazing, the Fungi pizza is the best I've ever had: well seasoned with garlic and olive oil. My husband had the meat ball sandwich and took a lot home, delicious bread and meatballs. Bolognese was delicious and three desserts: layered Spimoni, butterscotch pudding, and tiramisu were so tasty. Service was excellent, not rushed and we sat by the open kitchen so we could see the elegant prep going on. Can't wait to go again. We're about 30 minutes away. I'm surprised that small town Lodi can support a world class restaurant.

Yelp
Came into town very tired last night, just looking for a convenient spot to eat before staying at a local motel. Never expected such a great place. It was packed at 815 on a Monday night. Three chefs hard at work in open kitchen and two bartenders busy at it as well. Outside is lovely with beds of tomatoes and basil growing as you walk in. Place is delightful and staff is friendly and efficient. They are clearly well managed and a well oiled machine. The homemade flatbread, oil and balsamic vinegar is fantastic, and we split a super special wood fired pizza. I saw another half dozen dishes I wanted to jump in the middle of too! My daughter had a cocktail called a Mona Lisa that she said tasted like summertime. We were in and out in 45 minutes, with a bill under $40. I'll definitely return when I'm stuck in Lodi again

Yelp
Have to say everything was delicious. For someone who is picky with red sauce, every type was the best I've ever had. Not much of a green bean person, but these ones are a game changer; perfectly salted and wonderful garlic flavor. Staff is superb and on top of it. I can see why this place is popular. We had the lasagna, risotto, pizza, cioppino, eggplant parmesan, calamari, and gnocchi. Only down fall is lack of pesto and Alfredo.

Yelp
First time coming here. On a Saturday at 3pm this place was busy, which is a good sign. Outside the restaurant they actually have a garden with vegetables and fruit. Focaccia bread was brought to our table which was very light but tasted great. I ordered the lasagna which came out piping hot so be aware. They do warn you before you eat it but it looked and smelled so good you just want to dive right in. I then had the gelato pie. Extremely good. I would definitely have it again Overall I highly recommend this place for great Italian food.

Yelp
I was visiting Sacramento and my friends there insisted I try this Italian spot they love -- and I'm so glad I did. The restaurant had this almost European feel to it -- like a high-end Italian restaurant you'd stumble into while traveling abroad. Super cozy, but with a polished, foreign vibe that really set the tone for the night. The service was great -- the staff was attentive, a bit too attentive, but was very helpful. I ordered the Creste de Gallo, and honestly... I still crave it. The flavors were incredible, and the pasta was cooked perfectly -- probably one of the best dishes I've ever had. My friends ordered different dishes, and literally, every single one was delicious and had their own exquisite flavor. You can tell the quality and care that goes into the food here. We were actually coming back from a National Park that day, and it was also a holiday so we were worried about timing -- but thankfully we made it, and it was 100% worth the effort. Prices are on the higher side (around $25-$30+ per dish), they do give the bread as complimentary and you can ask for more, too. If you're in the area, I definitely recommend giving this place a try. It's easily one of the best Italian meals I've had in a long time.

Yelp
Pietro's for Mother's Day Review: The Mother's Day menu for 2025 included 2 Antipasti- we picked bruschetta & meatballs 1 Insalata- we picked pietros salad 2 Primis- we picked Amatriciana and Gnocchi 2 Secondi- we picked the gamberoni and bistecca. Overall the food was fantastic as usual and I would recommend coming to Pietro's for a Mother's Day celebration. Service was a bit slower than I am used to and we were in the restaurant for about 2 hours. First bread we were served was lukewarm and the mozzarella was pretty chewy compared to what we have had in the past. We also never received utensils for serving the salad and main dishes like we have received in the past. Little details that we noticed didn't get done when they had a full house of guests. Also timing between menu items were slow. Even with the slow service Pietros is still the best Italian restaurant in our area! The ambiance was very family friendly and had parties of all sizes during our reservation time.

Yelp
My Husband and I had such a great time here! It was packed but we made a reservation and were able to sit down in less than 2 minutes! Our waitress was Taylor; she was so sweet and let us know of all the specials of the day! The food was amazing! it's a really nice atmosphere to be in. I personally loved how they have their own small garden before you walk into the restaurant :,) it's the small details like that. We will be coming back so until next time Pietro's! * Rating 10/10

Yelp
Pillows of heaven! Those gnocchi in cream sauce with prosciutto... they are literally pillows of heaven! I've never had any gnocchi like it! Perfection! Smooth creamy flavor! I'd travel far and wide for those gnocchi. Pietro's is a lovely restaurant with ample parking located in Lodi California that came highly recommended by locals. Started with the special prosciutto with creamy burrata and melon that was amazing! The chef sent a lovely mozzarella in olive oil with bread crumbs. The bread is freshly oven baked with assagio cheese. The owner is very nice. The staff very professional! Five star experience!! 100% would return!!!

Yelp
Service was great, server was nice and friendly and helped me make a decision. She was very attentive as well. The food was so delicious and I enjoy how much oxtail was in the pasta, cooked to perfection. The ambiance of the restaurant was nice and welcoming and the outdoor seating area is beautiful. I didn't care for my drink which tasted like a glass of orange juice but I lt was tolerable I'll stick to basic tequila next time. But I enjoyed my brunch date with my bestie here and we will absolutely be back.

Yelp
This review is strictly for the yearly Galentine's event held at Pietro's. This is always a fun time! A lot of planning & details go into making this event great which is why attendance is very much desirable. Tickets go on sale on a specific date/time and usually sellout within 15-20 minutes of the tickets going on sale. Let me say, tickets are well worth the price. This year, with the taxes, each ticket was about $129.xx. This includes your meal, unlimited signature drinks or wine, your flower bouquet that you get to hand pick yourself, picture from the Photo Booth, goodies that are placed at your seat. The music is always upbeat, it's an overall great time! This year, my only complaint was that our party got split into 3 tables. Last year, we were a party of 8 and were able to sit together. This year, with the split, each table had a different server so we went through the different phases of having dinner, making our flower bouquet, taking pics at the Photo Booth, etc at different times. Each table was limited to 2 hours, whereas in previous years, there wasn't a time limit set. I get they limited the time to sell more tickets but we still want to be able to sit with our party and being split up was not as fun. All in all, we still enjoyed our time.

Yelp
Stopped into Pietro's for lunch with my co workers. We were greeted promptly and the host was very friendly and thorough in regards to asking about any allergies in my party. We ordered the bruschetta for our appetizer and then also enjoyed there very soft and yummy bread with evvo and balsamic that they shared with the table. I decided to order the pork milenesa sandwich, with a salad, which was delicious. My co workers ordered the lasagna and the chicken piccata both with were hearty portions and very yummy. The service was good and overall very friendly! Enjoyed our lunch and will be back. Note their parking lot can be kind of crazy busy and a challenge to find a spot

Yelp
This restaurant is a must if you are in the area. Wish I lived closer bc I would be coming here often. Food is amazing and service is great. We went Father's Day weekend so it was very busy. My husband and I got good seats at the bar. Ryan was so helpful and gave us great recommendations. He's amazing! We absolutely loved the drinks and food. Can't wait to visit again.

Yelp
This is our second trip to Pietro's in Lodi and it continues to impress. I needed a place to celebrate my birthday and they accomodated a same-day reservation. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm welcome and seated quickly. The ambience is classic and inviting with cozy lighting, elegant décor, and a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The service was excellent, attentive without being overbearing. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely seemed to care that we had a good experience. Now, the food is absolutely fantastic! The Chicken Parmesan was perfectly breaded, with tender, juicy chicken and just the right amount of marinara and melted cheese. The lasagna was rich, flavorful, and clearly made with fresh ingredients, each bite was comforting and delicious. Whether you're a local or just passing through, Pietro's is a must-visit for fresh, authentic Italian food served with care in a welcoming environment. We'll be back!

Yelp
I love this place amazing food and atmosphere. The inside is so beautiful and the outside has a garden of veggies and lots of places for photos. We met up as this was in the middle for some friends. Each of us ordered something different. One ordered the fish special, which she absolutely loved. It came with a corn risotto. I ordered the handmade pasta with oxtail. The sauce was amazing and my other friend ordered a fungi pizza the bread that comes to start was probably the highlight as you could dip it in olive oil and vinegar we asked for seconds it was really worth it and I was so close to getting one to go. I can't wait to come back. You definitely have to make reservations before you go.

Yelp
Our server Andrew was amazing! He offered us all the specials and knew them to a tea. Our server was consistent on checking in with us while keeping a positive and kind attitude. I had ordered the Pappardelle with a glass of Moscato, and I was amazed. The glass of Moscato was so crispy and refreshing paired with my plate. We ended our dinner with the tiramisu, highly recommended trying. My cousins and I opted for the outdoor dining when making our reservation, and so happy we did. The lights outside along with the water fountain really set the tone outside. I'll definitely be returning for many more girl dinners
google avatar

Melissa M.

Yelp
I'm not from this area but came here to celebrate my cousin's graduation. He loves this restaurant with his family and I'm so glad they got to share it with us. We loved all the dishes we had. The risotto was creamy and so very flavorful. The lasagna was a hit with all my family. The service was so attentive, fast, and kind. Appreciated how patient and understanding they were with our large party. We ate outside there were a lot of flies at first but then they brought out little fans to keep the flies away and we were able to enjoy our meals in piece. If you're ever in this area, this is a must try. And I DO NOT usually enjoy Italian restaurants. But this was a very great experience.

Yelp
We received a recommendation from locals to come here. I have to admit, coming from a much larger metropolitan city I was skeptical whether a small town like Lodi could have a world class restaurant. Well, in general our expectations were met. It's a beautiful space, great design, extremely friendly and hospitable staff. As far as the food? We loved the pizza, but the pasta that I ordered, the tagliatelle, was not very good. It was just extremely plain for the price. So I would say absolutely I would love to come back, but I would probably order something different next time. All in all, very lively and you could tell that all of the guests were enjoying themselves. I understand they are moving to a larger location so maybe the next time I'm in the area, I will be able to try that one out.
google avatar

Fred M.

Yelp
Went there for lunch. The service and pasta was good. But the homemade bread was delicious! It got busy quick. I'd recommend making reservations.
google avatar

Theresa G.

Yelp
What an amazing Italian restaurant. The place was packed is an understatement! Yet we were taken care of promptly and sat quickly. Our waiter was so bubbly and friendly. He gave us our time and had amazing recommendations. The whole menu looks delicious. We all went for something different and none disappointed. Service was on time even with the crazy amount of people there coming and going. The fresh bread was to die for as well as the balasamic and olive oil dip he poured us. We were so full. I had the raviolis with a glass of local Lodi wine that paired amazing. It was a very family feel to the place that was so welcoming. We even crammed some ice cream for dessert that was so good. We barely could walk when we left. A great night and the price was so accessible to anyone! We will be back. Still dreaming of that steamy bread!!
google avatar

Leah P.

Yelp
Went here for a date night and it was the perfect setting! The food was phenomenal, definitely something I crave often. Everything gets a 10/10.
google avatar

Leah's Papa ..

Yelp
Yeah this wasn't it fam. Orange fennel "salad" literally came with just oranges and some onions and fennel which was really unexpected and jarring. Pasta we got was good tho (a lil undercooked even from al dente standards). No hate at all, just wanted to be fully transparent since we had a whole different type of expectation coming into this place based on reviews. Ambiance is on point and staff are super nice and accommodating so tip them well. Rating is for the food experience we were expecting, nothing more. Cute spot for a date night fs
google avatar

Andrea M.

Yelp
We LOVE Pietros! We first discovered Pietros while looking for a wedding rehearsal lunch venue, and we can't say enough about how great this place is. The space is so cute, the service is extremely attentive, the food is fresh and good quality. We loved our wedding rehearsal lunch we had in the outdoor space. We'll continue to come back! They are also opening a new location pretty soon!

Yelp
I had New York steak sandwich with spaghetti and minestrone and tiramisu. It was crowded. The New York steak was tender and pretty good. Minestrone soup has lots of vegetables and meat too. The focaccia has lot tomatoes and was pretty good too.
google avatar

Alvin H.

Yelp
Just Wow. Came here for dinner over the weekend and I was incredibly pleased with the food and environment! Food: wide variety of selections, but my personal favorite was the Parmesan chicken. Chicken is tender and juicy, topped with perfectly melted cheese. The pasta itself has been marinated by the amalgamation of marinara and chicken juice. Overall a simple yet delicious dish Service: Great service. Waiter periodically checked in, and was never a bother. Very helpful in recommending dishes and appetizers Ambiance: Warm, quiet, and welcoming

Yelp
My friend and I were searching for a local Italian restaurant that did not require us going to Olive Garden. Came across this gem on Yelp and I must say it was impressive. Spacious parking. They have valet if that's your thing. A beautiful house garden filled with broccoli, dill and much more to walk through. I made a reservation prior being that it was a Friday night and my first time here. We were running a a few min behind but they did emphasize the 15 min grace period. I started off with a virgin Mona Lisa and it was delicious!! Then made our way to the ROSETTA'S ARANCINI (fried risotto ) which was also delicious. These things were massive, I ended up taking the 3rd one home. Also the bread loaf is too good. I was craving pesto but decided to go with the lasagna. If we are being honest, it tasted a little burnt and the excessive cheese was in fact a bit much. I was also searching for more pasta layers. I had high expectations being that this was a house made lasagna. When I come back I will definitely try the pesto sauce. My friend tried the CIOPPINO and demolished it! Lastly we saw a couple next to us order the THE SPUMONI and had to try it. The strawberry ice cream was the best and I'd probably order a tub of it to go if I could. Overall 5 stars and looking forward to trying out some new items on the menu. See you soon Pietros!!
google avatar

Dave M.

Yelp
I ordered lasagna for take out over the phone. Was nice to get a text acknowledging the order and another when ready for pick up. I want expecting everything I received. A loaf of bread (focaccia?), garlic butter and grated Parmesan. Everything was amazing! The lasagna noodles were perfect, the flavors delightful. A very generous serving.

Yelp
I have never been here before and everyone I know has raved about this place so I finally got to try it out with my boyfriend for his birthday. The service was definitely the highlight of the night and they were really attentive and noticed I was getting very cold during our dinner. Unfortunately I was less than impressed when it came to the food. Although the restaurant itself is cute and the outdoor ambiance is nice for date night, the food was not to my expectations. I will give it to them that their bread was the star of the show but that's about it. I am not sure if this was an off day and we were just unlucky but all of our dishes were just extremely salty and there wasn't much else flavor. I love risotto and salty food but I just could not come close to finishing it. It was very busy so our server wasn't able to stop often and I'm not necessarily the type to complain as it could usually be just not my taste preference. My boyfriend's parents come here often and usually order the same things but tonight they left unsatisfied compared to their previous visits and insisted it's not usually like this. We are the kind of family to always get dessert but after the meal we were just not feeling up to it. It clearly is a popular place and the staff were amazing! Hopefully if we come back I'll get to see what the hubbub is all about

Yelp
Every dish was absolutely delicious‼ They offer an excellent wine selection, and both the pizza and pasta are homemade. No wonder this place has been a local favorite for over 40 years (my husband said so!). Fresh herbs welcome you at the entrance, and the open kitchen adds to the charm. It's a spot that delights all five senses -- not just the taste, but also sight, sound, smell, and touch.:) The pizza was baked fresh and topped with a generous layer of cheese, right on the spot. So satisfying! But the real highlight for me was the pasta. I had the Bucatini, which reminded me of Inaniwa Udon. It had the perfect balance of chewiness and smoothness, and the light clam broth gave it a subtle Japanese twist. It totally won me over‼ This place gets busy, even on weekdays. We arrived at 5 PM on a Thursday and it was already full. Be sure to make a reservation so you don't miss out. Definitely looking forward to going back‼

Yelp
Excellent service and great fresh food. Great atmosphere and perfect for a romantic evening. Out door seating is perfect for cool Lodi nights.

Yelp
Everything here was great, the fresh warm bread, the cocktail menu, the service and the handmade pasta! This is definitely a treat and a must stop in Lodi for a special night out.

Yelp
When my friend; a Midwest native, told me there was a Pietros here ... I was absolutely shocked. There is one in a city I used to live in; that makes amazing pizza, and so I knew we had to check this place out. The exterior is creative with the garden planted right in the front, giving you that home grown quality ingredients vibe. Then once you step inside the interior is one of the more luxurious and quaint feeling out of any I've ever been too. For food we ordered a pepperoni pizza, ravioli with meat sauce, and calamari. By the way their iced tea is fresh brewed. All of the food had great quality flavor and nothing tasted out of a can of reheated. Will for sure be back again when in the area wine tasting.
google avatar

Parysa A.

Yelp
From the get go this place was amazing! We lucked out with beautiful weather and got to enjoy the patio seating next to the warmth of a heater and complimentary blankets provided by the restaurant. Such a sweet and cozy touch! The food was incredible. We had a bigger group and opted to order a variety of things and share. Between the complimentary loaf, mussels, burrata toast, gnocchi, and pizza, there was not a single bite that dissatisfied our taste buds. The service was prompt and helpful. Our server even took pictures of us afterwards so we could remember our special reunion of friendship. This was about a 45 minute drive from Sacramento but so worth it!

Yelp
I had the most amazing experience trying Pietro's! I went on a Monday night and it was PACKED. I was worried because I didn't make a reservation, but they were able to get us seated upon arrival (although I highly recommend you make a reservation regardless). The menu is a bit overwhelming if you aren't familiar with an Italian menu. The staff helped us pick items and explained the menu to us. We were offered complimentary cocktails/ mocktails upon arrival. The pesto is heavenly... it was super flavorful and perfect paired with the gnocchi. Everything came out super quick despite the packed building. More of an upscale casual vibe. I can't wait to take all of my friends here!
google avatar

Gigi J.

Yelp
All the food was great, we wanted to try everything and ordered 8 items amongst the 4 of us, and ofc we had plenty of yummy leftovers. Loooved the Bucatini and the pizza best (layer on the parm, Jake! Don't stop!), a little letdown by the calamari only bc it's not what we're used to. I like the full-on crispy tentacles, theirs was just flat. I get it, there are different parts of the squid and prep, I can still have my preference. We had a nice, cozy booth by the kitchen and ofc was eyeing every tantalizing dish that was brought out. Subtracting a star for the lackluster service. Jeannie was nice but she didn't seem genuine and attentive, when we asked for things, she took her time bringing it to us. Like, do you not know where the napkins are? She literally walked past us a few times before bringing the napkins. Same with other requests, walked past us a few times before getting what we asked for, and she never brought us the bread, oil/ vinegar after we put in our entire order. We had to ask Jake.
google avatar

Ted R.

Yelp
Went here after not trying for many years. It is always so busy so expecting a 5 star but did not meet the mark. First off if you enjoy wine prepare to pay New York prices. We settled for water. I had the Manila clams over pasta. Broth not much flavor however clams were good. My wife chose a steak sandwich rare which she said was very good. It came with a side so she chose spaghetti with meat sauce. Wow for an Italian restaurant the sauce was tasteless and absolutely very little meat. The bread is the star of this restaurant. It was served hot and so good. Service was excellent. All in all just okay so probably not on our regular list.

Yelp
Had a lunch reservation today at Pietro's for our Anniversary celebration and really enjoyed the meal! Our server (I believe her name was Kaylee/Kylie?) was amazing! Everyone who stopped by our table were super friendly and made sure to wish us a Happy Anniversary! I loved that for our Anniversary we were offered complimentary prosecco or tiramisu for dessert, and the table had a cute little card addressing the occasion. The appetizers were warm and delicious and everything came out just in time. As new dishes were arriving, they cleared out the old ones to make room. Our entrees came out together and were so delicious. My fiancé is new to the area doesn't eat much Italian, but as soon as we got home he immediately asked me if we'll be returning to Pietro's soon, because he loved it so much. The experience was amazing and really glad we chose to celebrate our Anniversary at Pietro's.
google avatar

Jean A.

Yelp
The ambiance here is really nice! Perfect for date nights, celebrations and family get together's. The service is literally top notch! The hospitality is seriously unmatched. They are so attentive in a kind and respectful manner. It was our first time visiting and we ordered the following: - Bruschetta: Wow!! I understand why it's so popular. So good! Highly recommend! - Super Special Pizza: A really good pizza! I would definitely recommend it, bu I think it more of a lunch item (personal opinion). - Pappardelle: This was something different for us. It is more rich in flavor and the shredded meat was cooked to perfection. Although it was really good, and I enjoyed the meal, it's not something I would try again. There are other items that I want to come back and try. Also, I definitely recommend making reservations. It can get busy!

Yelp
IGNORANCE IS BLISS Day 1 Stop 2 Preface- My travel buddy and I flew in to Sacramento and left SMF to pick up our other travel companion in the city of Elk Grove. We are working our way to the city of Lodi for our weekend escape. Searching for a place to have lunch, we stumble upon Pietro's and what a great stumble it was. They looked busy (and why not? it's high noon) We found 3 seats on the bar (a place we like to sit at) and had a great lunch. We decided to each select a dish and we will eat family style giving us the chance to try more than one dish. The bread!!!!! If you have anything at all from Pietro's DO NOT FORGET THE BREAD! We also tried the meaballs (4 stars) and the Parpadelle with braised oxtail (5 stars) was also on our menu sampler. A definite repeat if I am in the area!

Yelp
Service - great service from check in to the end of the meal. Melissa was awesome. She was so attentive, personable and didn't rush our table for an order which we really appreciated since we were celebrating an anniversary and catching up with some good friends. Food - I really enjoyed the Van Riutten Chardonnay since I'm not a local and didn't know what to expect coming in from Sonoma county. We ordered the Burrata Toast and calamari for appetizers. I have never had such great Burrata as I did here. It was so flavorful and complemented with the toast really good. Highly encourage trying this dish. The calamari was just average. I had the gnocchi that was quite tasty. It wasn't doughy and not heavily way down with black pepper cream. I wish they would've added a little more prosciutto Cotto, but it doesn't change my thought of the dish. It will definitely fill you up. Ambiance - when we walked in around 5:20 in the evening it was packed on a Tuesday. I highly suggest making a reservation. We were able to enjoy conversation even with the bustling of the wait staff and people. Overall, I would highly suggest trying this local cuisine and look forward to our next visit

Yelp
I would rather this a 6 Star if I could. Wow, talk about awesome food, service, and ambiance. I've been searching for a good Italian restaurant and have finally found it! This place is a gem and I described it as "the best Italian food I've had since going to Italy." We went on a Saturday evening and boy, are we glad we made reservations! The place was packed, even the first come, first serve bar area. It was cozy, with an open kitchen concept which was really cool to see. Start with the arancini balls and Super Special Pizza. The arancini balls were crispy on the outside, piping hot risotto on the inside, with the right amount of marinara sauce. The Super Special Pizza came out to perfection...it was so good. Thin, crispy on the bottom, with chewy crust. We also tried 2 homemade pastas: gnocchi - or what I'd call pillow heaven, the texture was insane. Soft and light, tossed in the right amount of sauce. And Creste de Gallo - whoaaaa, talk about al dente, chewy pasta! 100% would come back and think this tops any spot in the Sac area...

Yelp
Never a dull moment! Favorite spot in town - farm to table Recently took a friend for dinner from out of state - loved it, absolutely. Food always on point gotta love the seasonal menu!! Service - amazing as always, love the energy Ambiance - chill or could be a bit loud depending on where you seated. But it's a vibe, check it out

Yelp
It's probably been about 25-30 years since I ate here and I've been missing out! Probably the best Italian food I've had. We ordered the Calamari Fritti, Meatballs, Bruschetta, Bucatini, and the Marghereita Pizza and everything was on point and absolutely amazing. The service was also amazing. I'll definitely be back before 25-30 years lol Excited to try out other items on the menu as everything we ordered was absolutely amazing.

Yelp
Grabbing a quick bite to eat with my dad before heading to a UOP basketball game, we stopped by Pietro's. Despite being fairly crowded, we managed to get a table right away. The service was fast, friendly, and attentive. To start, we each ordered a bowl of minestrone soup and decided to share the bruschetta. The minestrone had great flavor to it and was packed full of vegetables. The bruschetta had fresh ripe tomatoes, balanced perfectly with the warm and slightly crusty focaccia bread. For my meal, I could not resist ordering the gnocchi. I am a huge gnocchi fan and kind of a gnocchi snob, so I was thrilled that the texture was perfect - not too dense but melt in your mouth. All in all, this was some very tasty Italian food and if you find yourself in the area, I would highly recommend giving it a try.

Yelp
We came here because of the good reviews. It was busy when we arrived, indicating it's popular. The place is nice, and the service was good, but we were disappointed with the food. The fresh focaccia was great, but the pasta dish was bland and the noodles were hard. The chicken dish was just ok.

Yelp
After visiting Michael David Winery, it was recommended to check out Pietro's for lunch. I was able to get a table quickly during the lunchtime hour. There was plenty of spots available in their parking lot. I had the chicken parm and a pepperoni pizza. Service was great and food was delicious! I recommend checking out Pietro's when in Lodi.

Yelp
Tasty food and good service. Ambience with scenic views from table was relaxing. Restroom was clean.
