This 60-Year-Old Italian Restaurant Is Upgrading With a Huge Pasta Lab | Eater SF

"Ever-popular, Old World Italian spot is trading its jammed Kettleman Lane digs for a 300-seat, 9,000-square-foot palace at a new Reynolds Ranch address, with an exquisite interior by De la Cruz Interior Design and Arcanum Architecture (the same team behind the 2017 remodel). While the move is about growth, the soul stays put: the menu remains almost unchanged, with fresh pasta as the main character alongside black pepper cream gnocchi, a wide array of pizzas, baked eggplant Parmigiana, a Lodi-centered wine list, and a classic cocktail menu (the Mamma Mia! with vodka and St. Germain arrives topped with dehydrated pear). The big upgrade is a pasta lab with almost floor-to-ceiling windows so guests can watch the process in real time; it will also turn out housemade sourdough baguettes, focaccia, and brioche, inspired by a small operation in Rome. Rooted in a family lineage that began in Calabria and opened its first Northern California restaurant in the 1960s, the Lodi outpost—launched in 1985 and serving the community for 40 years—had simply outgrown its space; the goal now is to remain both a destination for travelers and a mainstay for locals while holding fast to quality food, customer service, and respect for employees. Reopening is slated for Saturday, November 8 (after closing Saturday, November 1), with hours 11 a.m.–9 p.m. Monday–Thursday, 11 a.m.–10 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.–10 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m.–9 p.m. Sunday." - Paolo Bicchieri

Here’s Where to Spend 36 Food and Wine-Filled Hours in Lodi | Eater SF

"I understand why 'everyone does their stint at Pietro’s' — it's a local rite of passage: the family restaurant, started by the Murdacas and opened in Lodi in 1985, serves classic Italian fare with local wines, pasta, and hearty southern Italian dishes. A lovely demonstration garden supplies herbs and vegetables for the dining room; in winter I start with tender housemade meatballs in chunky tomato sauce and stay cozy with tagliatelle in pork sausage, veal, and porcini bolognese, and I never miss dessert — from butterscotch budino to the impossibly light salted caramel-mocha gelato pie." - Laura Smith Borrman

This restaurant was impeccable from start to finish. Not only is it a restaurant and bar but there is a little store selling merchandise, oils, meats, and cheeses. We sat on the outdoor patio which was heated and covered. I ordered the chicken piccata with clam chowder on the side. Not only was the clam chowder the best I have ever tasted but the chicken piccata was decadent. Our hostess was attentive and friendly. The overall atmosphere was very warm and welcoming but still had a high-end restaurant feel. I highly recommend this restaurant.

The new space for this restaurant is absolutely beautiful. High ceilings and an open seating concept/ nice decor inside and out. We sat in the patio outside. There was plenty of heaters and natural light through the shudder ceiling; love the ambiance of the restaurant. The staff is very friendly and attentive. You definitely will not feel ignored. If you live in the area or are just passing through, stop by and support local business. You will not leave hungry or disappointed.

We were 20 min. early for our reservation so we got a glass of wine at the bar. we were served immediately and even got bread and butter. Liz was our waitress in the restaurant side and was super attentive and the sommelier suggested an excellent port to go with the tiramisu! The food was great and the service was even better! Thank you Liz for a wonderful birthday experience for my husband!

Vegetarian. I really loved the place..we celebrated my birthday and their service is great. 1. Eggplant parmesan - this was very light and amazing in taste. The side fettucini with Alfredo was the best 5/5 2. Fries - they were okay. Nothing special but normal 3/5 3. Loved the Espresso Martini 5/5 4.their marinara pasta was also good 5/5. Overall, their hospitality and service is great.

Food is always good in Pietro’s , but last night was wonderful ! Had Peppermint Spices Old-fashioned Christmas cocktail also and white wine. They put a lot of clams in my Bucatini and the flavor was so good . Not my first to order this, but this one was best . My husband enjoyed his bday dinner too. Definitely new Pietro’s level up ! highly recommended!

Google
Pietro’s – Lodi, CA I was visiting the area and a friend suggested we stop here for lunch. Oh boy… what a treat! The place was absolutely packed — at 2:00 PM the next available reservation was at 7:00 PM, which tells you something right away. Luckily, the hostess recommended checking the bar area, and we were seated quickly. The service was friendly and welcoming, the food came out hot, delicious, and perfectly seasoned, and the drink selection had every kind of option you could imagine. You can tell this place knows what it’s doing. Between the vibe, the service, and the amazing food, Pietro’s is the kind of restaurant you look forward to coming back to. I’ll definitely be eating here again next time I’m in the area!

Three entrees, three drinks, three salads and one dessert. Everything was excellent. A bit of a wait, but this was my first time there and my wife highly recommended. You can watch the food preparation in the open kitchen, everything is fresh and seasonal produce is featured, including in the desserts. Our bill at lunchtime was $175 (pre-tip) and well worth it. Great way to celebrate a friend's birthday. Although this restaurant is a solid 45 minute drive for us, I would definitely make the trip for high-quality, delicious Italian. So many things on the menu looked divine, I will certainly be back to sample the selection.

Everything was delicious! I would have given 5 stars for food but my steak sandwich I ordered medium and came well done. It was a little tough but still ok. Dining companions loved their meals. Risotto was really good! Service is top notch!!

Yelp
Fantastic food, vibes and service here at Pietro's! Prior to tying the knot, we needed to look for a place to host our rehearsal dinner and stumbled upon Pietro's. The place was packed but we planned ahead by making a reservation to confirm if we liked the food or not. Coming from the Bay Area with high standards (lol!), this place is a solid choice for Italian food! We decided to host our rehearsal dinner with 30 people and rented out the Wine Room to have a private space for our family and friends! It was an AMAZING experience. I worked with Nicholle Hawkins and she really made the experience planning the rehearsal so seamless. There is a F&B minimum depending on the locations you want to rent out. But that just means more food and variety for you and your guests to try! Just to name some of the foods we tried... Woodfired pizza Barbabietola Salad Rigatoni Amatriciana Catch of the day Pork Milanese Budino Everyone was soooo full by the end and we had so many delicious leftovers. We all opted in for the open bar at top shelf which is why we were too full to finish a lot of the food hahaha. Thank you, Pietro's team for helping my husband and I have a seamless rehearsal experience. This will forever be our go to spot when we return to Lodi!

Yelp
So this was our first time here and we came for our anniversary and you will definitely want a reservation for this place, it gets BUSY. Once we arrived the host gave us a happy anniversary card which was a nice touch and we were brought to a booth/table which was perfect setting for the night and we proceeded to order a lot of food, drinks, and the complimentary bread. Everything and I mean EVERYTHING was delicious from the appetizer meatballs to the wafer on the gelato. Everything was incredible and our waitress was really nice and personable. Overall I think we've made this place our go to anniversary dinner spot

Yelp
Please make sure you make reservations ahead of time because it was packed on a weekday. Valet was so packed that we couldn't even do that. Parking is very limited. I had a park at the hotel parking. Service was great. We had a few people attend our table and check on us. They should have larger water cups because I felt like I kept asking for water. Food came out promptly after ordering. Everything was pretty good. They didn't have fish that night which was a bummer. I highly recommend the fried chicken and the pasta. Pizza was pretty good. It's a thin crust and the sauce is great. The steak was seasoned right but must have it medium so it's not dry. I really like what they did to this place. It's nicely decorated. The architecture was nice with a different feel in each section. They have an outdoor covered patio with a water fountain, they have an area with a fireplace, a section for the bar area, and a section near the kitchen. For dessert, I had the chocolate tortilla which was like a moose pie. I really enjoyed it. The poor to the glass of wine I ordered was very small, which was a bit disappointing. It's agreat place to have dinner after winetasting, celebrate a birthday, or just have a nice dinner.

Yelp
Really struggled not to knock this to three stars tonight. Ribeye was about 1/4" thick, over cooked and lacked flavor. Probably the worst ribeye I've had. Our server let our drinks sit empty for more than 15 minutes twice. New building is still great though. Parking sucked. Just really disappointed and probably taking a break for a while. Market tavern's skirt steak smokes Pietro's ribeye and it's half the price.

Yelp
Well this is there new location for the restaurant. It was opened last November . The place is bigger but the parking is just as bad. They share a lot with a hotel to. Hopefully the hotel doesn't start tagging people for parking but hey they have a fantastic restaurant next door. We made reservations and I suggest you do too. It is a bigger place but this place was full. The staff jumped to a lot more waiters and managers. It was pretty crazy when my wife and I went there on a Thursday. We had 5:30 PM reservations. Got there a little late and had a hard time parking. They did seat us right away. Their outside area is now roofed so that is good and roof heaters all above. Very big area. They of course had sectioned dinning areas as before but bigger. The bar is bigger too. It was pretty long as you could see in my picture. After we were seated it took awhile for a server to come by. Thanks to our water server she was on top of it. She saved the day by being so attentive , filling our water and my iced tea before it was empty. Now our server is another story. It said on the receipt that his name was Adam S. We barely saw him at all. Only to take the order and one time later. Service was lacking and the non caring attitude was not good. We will get to that later. I got the risotto which had mushrooms and I think bacon and it was good. I liked it a lot and so did my wife. I let her eat some because of her dish, see below. The wife got the special , salmon over risotto. I didn't say anything while she was ordering but last time it was undercooked. This time it was the same but not as bad. The middle was raw. We wanted to say something but the waiter never came by till she was almost done eating. We informed Adam of the uncooked dish and he did say that he would have them make another one or take it away. But my wife had eaten most of it and said that she would just take it home and cook it as left overs. Not picking up on it that she was being nice Adam just said ok and left to get her a take home box. I figured he would take off the item or do something but he just came back with the bill and box. Nothing said or done. I didn't push it. We didn't get any dessert and paid and left. I was a little disappointed . They have been open for two months now and should have worked all the kinks out. Of course we will be back since we loave the food here. Wish it was better service

Yelp
We visited the new location for the first time on a Monday at 6pm. We made reservations in advance for a group of 6 for a birthday dinner. Let's start with parking. The old Pietro's had horrible parking and so does the new location. We drove around 3 times looking for a space, and there were none available. We finally decided to park across the street at Pet Smart, which wasn't the best street to walk across at night. The staff were very nice, especially our server. The new location is a lot larger, but it is very very noisy in the dining area! I was told the courtyard is much quieter, but we couldn't get reservations in that area. As usual, the bread and garlic butter were delicious. I ordered the special, which was salmon with risotto. My dinner was delicious, very lemony sauce which I love and cooked perfectly. My husband ordered the chicken Parmesan with pasta and vegetables, he hated it! My husband isn't a picky eater, but for him to leave more than half of an entree I know he doesn't like it. He said the chicken tasted like it was cheap frozen chicken and was also dry. He did eat the spaghetti and green beans. Two people in our group ordered pizza, they were a really good size, two people can definitely share one pizza. The mussels were VERY small. I was told that the gnocchi was delicious with a great cheese sauce. There is a $30 per bottle corkage fee.

Yelp
The food was good, but probably not worth the long wait and headache of getting a seat. I called 3 times the day before and day of to get a reservation and was unable to get it. So needed to wait about 30 min to get bar seating. It ended up being fine, but the table was a little narrow and definitely not as spacious as a table. Budino was great, the fresh whipped cream and caramelized pieces on top were excellent. 6/5 Mussels were ok but the rubbery texture made me wonder if they were previously frozen. For $23 I hope not. The sauce was excellent. 4/5 Eggplant Parmesan- good but I felt there were too many layers and too much breading. 4/5 Risotto rich and creamy with bacon. Good, but wouldn't order again for the price. -$20 4/5 The pizza was good, but not the best I've had. Naples style pizza but a little dry, hard, not as moist as I'd like. 3/5 Overall I was very impressed with the dessert but would not come back for the main dishes.

Yelp
So so wanted to like Pietro's at their new location as we've always enjoyed their service and food at their old location. Our first experience at their new location was disappointing to say the least. Let me just say the ladies at the front were a 10/10. We ordered their tagatelle, braised oxtail and bucatini. Drink orders were placed but we did not get them. Had to inquire about it once our food served. It went from downhill from here. Bucatini was served with frozen clams. So frozen ice was still on them. Our waitress, bless her heart, sent it back and asked for a new dish to be rushed. The second attempt came out fairly shortly but it had the same problem so we just sent it back and asked for us not to be charged. The manager came and apologized and offered a free dessert but at this point we were just grossed out so we politely declined. Feels like at least two points of failure here. 1- Line cook needs to be retrained and 2-Expeditor did not check quality of the dish before it was sent out. We wanted to love but too bad. We won't be back.

Yelp
Made reservations for my brothers bday and it was such a beautiful dinner. The building is so beautiful and they even have an outdoor garden full of herbs. The inside did not look like what I expected it was better than I imagined. Pietros is located near the costco & they even offer valet parking. Upon walking in it was decorated so beautiful for Christmas & the restaurant was so clean and pristine. From the booth colors to the floor tiles the decor def popped. Christmas music was playing which was such a vibe. The bar looked very nice and we sat in the main dining room by the kitchen & pizza oven. Any place I eat that has a pizza oven I always opt in for a pizza! We started with the house salad, bruschetta & minestrone soup. My mom and bro loved the bruschetta it was my brother's first time ever having it and we cleared the whole plate, super refreshing. My mother ordered the lasagne which is her favorite dish here and she said she loved the pizza. My brother ordered the market cut steak with big shrimp prawns. He let me try both and the steak melted in my mouth & the shrimp had so much flavor it was really good. From looking at yelp Photos prior to me coming I am so glad I went with the Ripieni. The color screams Christmas & it was def comfort food because I was so warm and stuffed after. The pizza had the perfect crust and under carriage def a must try! Staff was very attentive especially filling up our waters. I can't wait to be back to try other items!

Yelp
Is there a 10 star, 20 star, 100 star option? I have to confess that this is our favorite restaurant! We finally ventured out to take a look at their new space and enjoyed some excellent comfort food. We ordered our favorites and snuggled into one of the new booths. We ooohed and aaahed over all of the beautiful touches in the extravagant space. Dakota took excellent care of us! Everything just came together beautifully as it does on every visit we've ever had to Pietro's. Of course we'll be back. You'll never get rid of us. We can't wait for the new space to open!

Yelp
Birthday Dinner Dinner reservations with my best friend for my birthday. We came on a Friday night and it was extremely busy but I can absolutely see why. Food was really good and wait staff were really attentive and friendly. For an appetizer, we got Bruschetta. It was really refreshing and just so so good. The tomatoes were fresh and the bread was nice and crispy. I got the chicken parmigiana with spaghetti on the side. I can't recall what my drink's name was but it was basically a margarita. Then for dessert, I got tiramisu which was amazing. Definitely a great place for any type of celebration or even a nice date. The patio was nice with low lights which set the mood.

Yelp
I have seen Pietro's on social media for awhile now and finally was able to give it a try...... First off, the interior is beautiful!! You have a choice of dining in the main dining room, at the bar, table top in front of the pizza oven or outside. Outside, regardless of the weather is a nice cozy environment with heat lamps and a fireplace. Service was perfect! Our waiter was on it the whole time and the other servers were just as attentive to us by checking in and dropping off refills on our beverages. The bread was fresh, warm and very tasty. They serve it with a wonderful butter that melts right into the bread. We each had the veal dishes...... I had the veal parmesan while hubby had the veal francese. Both were served with spaghetti with red sauce. The sauce tasted fresh, not like they randomly threw some ingredients together like some Italian restaurants. This sauce you could tase the fresh garlic and basil, it alone was very tasty and filling. The veal francese was cooked perfectly; you could taste the fresh garlic and lemon. This time around we were too full to try the dessert but will definitely have to give it a try next time we visit. We will definitely be back and next time will bring friends to introduce them to this wonderful place.

Yelp
Great ambiance and nice spot for a date night!! I wish I had found out about this place sooner. The staff is super nice, they messed up my order but had multiple people come even the manager came and apologize and gave us a discount for the inconvenience. Their complimentary bread with vinegar and olive oil is sooooooo goooood. Everything seemed so good on the menu. Highly highly highly recommend the pizza with the chilli oil!!! My new fav!!

Yelp
New location same amazing food and same amazing service. The new place is much bigger and open. The parking is a lot easier even though it's surrounded by two hotels and hotel parking is designated.

Yelp
From the time we got in there to being seated everything was so perfect. They greet you very well and they give you recommendations as well. Our waiter was more than beyond with his services. The food wow I'm like speechless on how delicious the food was. The calamari is by far the best one we ever tasted, the sauces that comes with it was perfection and I'm in shocked on how delicious and superb everything was. I highly recommend coming here for any occasion or just for being hungry. The ambience inside was nice as well and the outside too. Very clean and this will be our for sure place to come from now on.

Yelp
As crazy busy as it was as they finish there last week at this location, we had Amazing service, and delicious food. It's a bit loud in there with everyone trying to get in. Our server was in training with a more senior server. Both were amazing. Our drinks never went dry, and tonight I enjoyed an espresso martini and a glass of Pinot with my amazing dinner special (New York Steak and Prawns over polenta) If you haven't tried the ricotta dip with infused balsamic reduction, tomatoes and basils with the bread you're missing out. Hubby got the lasagne, had a bite, and it was delicious. I can't say enough!!! We will definitely be trying out the new location.

Yelp
I finally had the opportunity to visit the new Lodi location, and was impressed by the larger bar area. The food and service quality have been maintained, with the bread being a notable highlight - it's truly the best in town. We ordered the chicken minestroni soup, bucatini with clams, and seafood ciappino, and were pleased to find that everything met our standards. The Spanish Steps drink and espresso martini were also enjoyable!

Yelp
Christmas Eve dinner with the family and the restaurant / parking lot was packed! I was excited to try some fresh pasta, and ordered the Tagliatelle. The Jimmy's Garden salad with prawns was an excellent item to split with two. The Super Special pizza was floppy and yummy. Mel was our waitress and she was amazing. The menu is extensive and a lot of items are shareable.
google avatar

Lydia K.

Yelp
I highly recommend Pietro's & if you get Megan as your server you are in excellent hands! Her food & desert recommendations are outstanding. The ambiance is so relaxing & cozy. This was the perfect meal to have before giving birth in a few days. Everything we had was delicious!

Yelp
The best Italian place in town! We recently visited for lunch without a reservation. Quick seating and immediately greeted by their staff. Upon seating, we were greeted by our server. Ordered. Food came out super quick. We were pleased with their service and how quick everything was. We ordered their salad, calamari, pizza and a pasta plate. For the two of us, we had plenty of leftovers left. Their complimentary bread was delicious. Definitely a must if you're craving Italian food!
google avatar

Yelp
Our first time at the new location. It is much bigger and beautifully decorated. We had our usuals, salad, chicken picatta, risotto, and eggplant parm. Everything was delicious. I tried the butterscotch pudding for dessert and it was tasty. The restroom is very clean and the toilet paper is soft. I think they have a few kinks to work out being in their new location but nothing major. Our server Jacob was very nice.

Yelp
Pietro's is truly a Central Valley gem. If you want high quality Italian food from an independently owned and operated family restaurant this is the place. Skip the chains and strip-mall dining for an upscale and delicious experience. The modern and sleek design provides a clean, welcoming, and fun atmosphere. It's clear the designer spared little expense at putting a comfortable and visually appealing restaurant together. More importantly - the Kitchen completely nailed it with just about everything! Our group of 5 came to Lodi for a birthday lunch and it seems like we almost ordered the entire menu. The meat Ravioli were phenomenal as-well-as the porterhouse, and Calamari. The Christmas cocktails were fun seasonal additions to the menu. Our service team were pros although our waiter did project a slight arrogance, which I'm sure some people could find off-putting, but, he was entirely professional and efficient. I would absolutely come back on any given day (even with a 45 minute drive from Sacramento). The Pietro's family have really been able to create a top notch and high quality restaurant that you will definitely want to try. My guess is if you come once, you'll be back. I know I will.

Yelp
Pietro's in Lodi was an absolute delight from start to finish. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting--one of those spots that instantly makes you want to settle in, order a glass of wine, and stay awhile. I tried the Funghi Pizza, and wow--easily one of the best mushroom pizzas I've ever had. It came loaded with two kinds of mushrooms, porcini and portobello, giving it this deep, earthy flavor that paired beautifully with its focaccia-like crust and melty fontina cheese. You can tell they use quality ingredients and actually care about what they're serving. The barbabietola salad (I hope I'm remembering that name right!) was fresh, colorful, and really tasty--beets, greens, a little tang, and just the right amount of dressing. It paired perfectly with the pizza. Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Our waitress had great energy and made the whole experience even better. Overall, Pietro's is the kind of place that reminds you why dining out is supposed to be fun--great food, great people, and an atmosphere that feels like home

Yelp
Wow! I have to say one of the best Italian restaurant I've been to by far! We were seated outdoors for brunch and it was just perfect and not too busy on a Sunday. They served complimentary bread with balsamic vinegar and olive oil. It was soo good! We then ordered the eggs in purgatory, super special pizza, side of fried and the gelato pie for dessert. Everything was so tasty and bursting in flavor! Eggs in purgatory ($21): huge portion and came with a big piece of bread. Really flavorful with tomato sauce, eggs and polenta topped with basil. Must try! Super special pizza ($22): the pie was a bit too soggy in the center but I love how saucy the pizza was. Crust was unique with parm shavings! Pepperoni was also really good with a bit of spice to it! I love how the pizza are not doughy at all! Perfectly thin! Fries ($7): thick cut fries but salted perfectly. Only wish it was crispier on the outside. It came with side of ketchup. Gelato pie ($14): this months flavor is peach and amaretto. So good! It was refreshing and not too sweet, just the perfect amount of sweetness! It's made in house and I can tell they use fresh ingredients! I will definitely be coming again as the service and food was excellent!

Yelp
I've been to Pietro's a few times now and always leave happy, and this visit was no exception! This time I brought the family to celebrate an anniversary, and everyone had a wonderful time. We ordered the New York steak, meatball sandwich, Jimmy salad, and chicken parmigiana. I couldn't pass up the beef minestrone soup--it was hearty, flavorful, and hit the spot. The sourdough bread to start was warm and delicious, especially paired with their vinegar and oil. The steak could have used just a little more seasoning (salt and pepper would have brought it up a notch), and the chicken on the Jimmy salad would have been even better warmed up. That said, the dishes were all satisfying and well-prepared. Who knew they don't offer any steak or hot sauce? To top things off, because of our special occasion, we were treated to a serving of tiramisu that was sweet, creamy, and a perfect way to end the meal. Our waitress, Kate, was phenomenal--attentive, friendly, and made sure we were taken care of the whole time. Overall, a great experience as always. We can't wait to check out the new location once it opens!

Yelp
While in Lodi me and my bffs finished off our lovely day wine tasting here and Pietro's. I was thankful we made reservations in advanced because it was very busy, even for a Monday night! The restaurant is beautiful inside and the service was excellent. Our waitress Jessica was amazing and shared with us the specials with ease. When we asked for recommendations I love that she asked what was our typical go to type of Italian meal and was able to make recommendations that each person LOVED. The bread table with the garlic herb butter is definitely a crowd pleaser. We ordered a calamari appetizer and it was delicious--no fishy aftertaste and breaded to perfection Each entree ordered was highly enjoyed and their signature cocktails and mocktails are a must try. We will definitely be back. A thoughtful touch was with the bill we received a keepsake postcard and our birthday buddy got a happy birthday card. Highly recommend. If you can't make a reservation wait for a table if possible--or sit on the bar area. The food is worth it!

Yelp
My friend was like you know what let's ditch the men and go have girl dinner! Yes, say less. We drove out to Lodi and arrived at the outside vibes of Italy. Almost like transported. We did not have a reservation and was almost turned away. *Angelica like music plays. Three seats at the bar were open. We will take them! My drink was never empty! The bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar *chefs kiss. Gnocchi was delicious clouds of joy! Meatballs on point. We loved everything! We were too full for dessert but I bet it would be delicious! Highly recommend!

Yelp
This is my first time at the new location. I was not impressed at the previous location, but this time around was different. We reserved a table for a friend's birthday and there were 8 of us. Service was fast, friendly, and knowledgeable. We ordered a few appetizers and all came out delicious. We ordered Rosetta's Arapicini (fried risotto), meatballs, and calamari. Which all tasted fabulous. I ordered Ripieni (chef's choice) included tortellini and cream sauce. Overall I was impressed with the food, and the quality.

Yelp
Outstanding food and drinks, outstanding service from waitstaff, and an overall, welcoming ambiance at Pietro's. Their pizzas have a wonderful chewy crust. The complimentary bread is heavenly - tender with a great mouth-feel. We dined recently at the bar and had fantastic service from our bartender (unfortunately, I forgot his name). He made me a delicious whisky sour with egg whites.... it was juicy and luscious. And, every one of our dishes was out-of-this world. From the Meatball appetizer to the Gnocchi (oh so pillowy tender!) to the Ravioli. They plan on moving to a new, bigger location in a few months. In its current location will be a Steakhouse. We are looking forward to both!

Yelp
The food here is top quality and freshest I have ever had in terms of Italian dishes. The services were fast, courteous, and attentive. The ambiance was loud, and has fine dining aesthetics. I highly recommend putting in a reservation in advance, and to be prepared with looking for a parking space as well. Appetizer got the calamari, then for dinner got the raviolis and the oxtail ragu, and finished off with the spumoni. I highly recommend going here with either a partner, family, and/or even friends for one of the highest quality Italian food I've ever tasted.

Yelp
I made a reservation for 5 for my birthday and had a wonderful experience. Robert K was our server who made it special with his attention to detail and warm attentive manner. The new interior is lovely and comfortable where we were sat near the fireplace. I had the Wagyu beef special that was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Others in our party had the scallops and polenta special and enjoyed those as well. The calamari appetizer is some of the freshest tasting I've had in a long time. You also can't go wrong with the mushroom risotto! From the nice wine selection, down to the simplicity of the affogato, we enjoyed our evening.

Yelp
I visited a local winery in the area, and the staff there recommended this restaurant I'm so glad they did. They start you off with incredible homemade white firewood-baked bread served with garlic butter, and it was so good. Next, I tried the chicken parmesan, which came with a side of green beans and pasta. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted fabulous. Lastly, I had the oxtail with polenta, and it was out of this world. The meat was incredibly tender and juicy with layers of unbelievable flavor. If you like your food perfectly seasoned and cooked, you need to try this place. The service was amazing--every staff member was kind and friendly--and the ambiance was absolutely beautiful and spotless. Highly recommend!

Yelp
The new location is absolutely beautiful! Food was great as usual. Would order the oxtail time and time again! Service was good. Food came out timely from appetizers to entree to dessert. Finding parking is horrible on a busy Friday night. Highly recommend making a reservation or the wait can be up to a couple hours (from what I heard from people at the bar).

Yelp
Pietro's is literally my Italian fix in the Valley. Every time we come to visit fam, I always want to go here. Service can get spotty especially when it's busy so just be ready to flag and keep an eye out. Ambiance is coo too both in and outside. You can dress nice, you can dress bummy. I've seen and done both. Big portions and with the salads too. Parking can get spotty when it's busy so I'd reserve if you can.

Yelp
Visited this spot again and they do not disappoint. Madden was our server and he suggested I try the oxtail. Absolutely positively scrumptious!!! The polenta with the aïoli sauce and the fat of the oxtail with the lean meat was magnificent topped with arugula and walnuts. If you have an allergy, make sure to mention no walnuts. We also ordered the chicken parmigiana with a side of fettuccine noodles topped with a white sauce. Madden did a great job making sure we had what we needed and we were grateful. We came for lunch as well and enjoyed the Rosie's pollo fritto sandwich and the Milanese sandwich served with the minestrone soup.

Yelp
The gem of all Italian gems! The new location is even bigger and brighter. Don't pass on the opportunity to eat the most fresh, delicious and love coming from this kitchen. The people, cocktails and food are simply the best . Come early or get a reservation, it's no secret the whole community comes together here!

Yelp
Service was excellent Cam was a great server! The place is really nice but still a little too packed in with tables. Would be nice to have a couple less tables to give people wiggle room to get out of tables without feeling like you're going to bump people. The food was very good. My lasagna was served HOT and was delicious. Hubby's NY steak was very good, cut like butter and flavorful. I would skip appetizer just to save room for dessert (personally). The risotto was very good simple and yummy.

Yelp
Liz was an amazing waitress. She checked on us often and was super friendly and helpful. We received our food in a short amount of time. The sommelier suggested a port to go with the tiramisu and validated my choice of wine selection to go with my chicken parmigiana! We will definitely be back and highly recommend reservations!

Yelp
I recently heard a lot of good things about this restaurant and since I was in the area with my kids, we decided to come here for late lunch. I ordered their chicken parmigiana, my eldest ordered their special which was the ripieni, my other daughter ordered their kids spaghetti and my youngest got the chicken parmigiana as well. Food was great. I actually enjoyed my chicken parmigiana. I thought the service was great , our server, Daniel was attentive but it did get busy and there was a moment where he forgot to come back to fill our water after we requested for it a few minutes prior. Overall, good place for fresh pasta. We would come back again.

Yelp
This was our second visit, and we chose to celebrate my husband's birthday. Both the food and service here are consistently exceptional! The entire team, including the manager, takes such genuine care of every guest, even when the restaurant is fully booked. You can really feel their warmth and professionalism. The restaurant thoughtfully surprised him with a complimentary tiramisu, which made the occasion even more special! Highly, highly recommend this gem of a restaurant!!

Yelp
Unfortunately this popular Lodi location will be closing....but guess what- they will be relocating to a beautiful new location. Our wonderful server Jordan says it will have a much larger kitchen that he's very excited about. We were seated on the lovely patio to celebrate my brother's birthday. Jordan surprised us with tasty tiramisu. But first we enjoyed wonderful bread, porchetta dish and my brother had the cioppino. The amazing smells and flavors in this Italian restaurant has made us visit numerous times. This is usually our routine, along with Lodi wine tasting of course.

Yelp
We went for my husband's birthday. New place is beautiful, always crowded but the food is always amazing, they never disappoint.

Yelp
Spacious. Acoustics are so much better than their other location. Airy, high ceilings and multiple dining areas. The"outdoor" seating is more like an atrium... quite nice and they still have a fireplace. New addition is a spacious bar area with booth tables to dine at. Separate entrance for takeout and a shop where you can get Pietros swag or delicious Italian items like nougat candy and panettone. Food is delicious. Service was fabulous as well.

Yelp
A nice classy Italian restaurant. The outdoor seating is still rather in-doors with lots of heaters to keep the space warm. The servers are attentive and knowledgeable. The food was great, but the bread and butter to the main course. We were here for a business trip and this place was next to the hotel, so it was convenient, but also a nice experience. We will definitely be back when we return to the area - just keep in mind they can't/won't do separate checks - not a problem for most, but an inconvenience when traveling for work or wanting to pay separately.

Yelp
I loved this place till they moved to a new location. It's no longer a quaint family style diner. It's now a large modern restaurant and very crowded. I placed my order online several days in advance and had to wait for 45 minutes because my order was not ready. When I placed my order in my trunk I've noticed it was not sealed properly so it leaked. All I got from the restaurant was "we are sorry". Editing after trying the food. I always loved lasagna at Pietro's and ordered it several times to dine in and to go. The one I got today was not as good as before. Mostly because it's undercooked. I hope it's just temporary and the service will return to the previous level. Had to edit again after trying fingerling potatoes. They are dry and overcooked. Some of them exploded. And they are quite pricey.

Yelp
The food here is fabulous. The service gracious. But I'm not in love with the new Pietros. We had an early dinner at 4:00 & already the parking was impossible. Took us 10 min to find a spot. Valet parking hadn't started, nor am I crazy about it after a couple unfortunate experiences. The restaurant was packed! At least 100 people already & noisy! The restrooms were littered & needed maintenance. If you like a big noisy, busy bistro, you'll love it. We used to love the old place for its charm, but that's missing from the new place, at least for us. But, the food is fabulous & the service gracious.

Yelp
I was visiting Sacramento and my friends there insisted I try this Italian spot they love -- and I'm so glad I did. The restaurant had this almost European feel to it -- like a high-end Italian restaurant you'd stumble into while traveling abroad. Super cozy, but with a polished, foreign vibe that really set the tone for the night. The service was great -- the staff was attentive, a bit too attentive, but was very helpful. I ordered the Creste de Gallo, and honestly... I still crave it. The flavors were incredible, and the pasta was cooked perfectly -- probably one of the best dishes I've ever had. My friends ordered different dishes, and literally, every single one was delicious and had their own exquisite flavor. You can tell the quality and care that goes into the food here. We were actually coming back from a National Park that day, and it was also a holiday so we were worried about timing -- but thankfully we made it, and it was 100% worth the effort. Prices are on the higher side (around $25-$30+ per dish), they do give the bread as complimentary and you can ask for more, too. If you're in the area, I definitely recommend giving this place a try. It's easily one of the best Italian meals I've had in a long time.

Yelp
Had such a wonderful experience at Pietro's in Lodi! The food was delicious, everything we ordered was so delicious, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service made the night extra special. Our waiter, Dakota, was absolutely fantastic attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. Especially with our loud group lol. It's so refreshing to have someone who goes above and beyond to make you feel taken care of. Highly recommend Pietro's, and if you can, ask for Dakota!

Yelp
1. Get a reservation!! We were lucky enough to walk-in around 4:30 and got an open spot at the bar/chef's table 2. We split the bruschetta; we both thought the Mona Lisa tasted like juice (dangerously yummy); I had the bucatini--so many clams!; and I finished with a birthday-sized tiramisu. Everything was delicious. I wish they sold the butter they serve with the bread! 3. The new location is gorgeous with its greenhouse motifs. High ceilings and whatnot. Clean bathroom + really sweet service Would go back and would recommend
