New Restaurant and Bar Openings in Minneapolis and St. Paul in 2024 | Eater Twin Cities
"Pimento’s newest, biggest location in downtown St. Paul features a full rum bar, ample seating, and a stage for live music alongside Kingston-style jerk chicken, slow-roasted jerk pork, curry veggies, and braised oxtail; it’s open late on weekends." - Justine Jones
Pimento Jamaican Kitchen Opens Inside West 7th’s Keg & Case - Eater Twin Cities
"Pimento Jamaican Kitchen has opened its first Saint Paul location inside Keg & Case. After beginning in a suburban food court following success on a Food Network show, it has expanded from its Nicollet Avenue location. The menu includes Jerk chicken, pork, coconut rice, plantains, and several sauces, with plans to expand to dishes like oxtail and curried goat. Founded by three friends who won a rent-free year at Burnsville Center’s food court via Food Court Wars, it now also features a food truck and a rum bar." - Joy Summers
I've eaten at the Eat Street location. This location has the same vibes. One love special was good and the jerk ranch was a good addition. A little spice and the plantains were sweet. Jerk chicken and jerk pork were not dry which I appreciate. Beef patty was good too.

Large Jamaican restaurant in St Paul. Decent selection of food that is mostly prepared already so your delivery is quick. Young lady behind the counter was nice and very patient as I chose my meal. It was way more food than I could have imagined and the jerk chicken breast was good. Rice and beans, plantains, and Cole slaw all were good as well. Place is set up for a party it looks like with stage and dj area.

Food was great. Spicy, but they provided a sauce that was used to make it not so spicy. I ordered something not on the menu and they did a bang up job. The red snapper was succulent. It reminded me of being in Jamaica. I was very happy.

I’m sorry to have to rate this food this way but the girl at the front gave me curry veggies when i explicitly said curry goat and curry chicken and ended with the curry veggies which taste terrible. I love my veggies but the curry sauce over the veggies is not good. I enjoyed my food at Minneapolis’ location last year. I was really hoping to love this place but I’m displeased with my first visit here.

Wow, Pimento! You really know how to please your customers. The food was amazing, like always, and there was plenty of it. The atmosphere was great, with a good jazz band playing. The service was awesome. The food came out fast, and they checked on us a lot to make sure we were enjoying everything. We got fries, and OMG, the seasoning on those fries is gonna make me come back for more. Thanks for serving our community 🙂

Im going to be honest here the patties and the music were my favorite from the night. We waited for some of our dishes for 45 mins.
Curry chicken don't do it!! tasted like a bottle of apple cider vinegar was poured in while preparing. Some of my son's rice was hard, and let's not talk about the plantain. Soggy, mushy, just a mess.
I told the waiter of my complaint showed her my daughter only ate the side of chicken and not the curry chicken and rice entree, we still weren't given a discount or other options.
Our bill was heavy for most of the food to have been in the bowl still. Our family is very familar with Carribean food ee know this was not it.
We are from out of town and was told by a local not to go. Im mad we didn't listen.

Definitely a tasty spot. I had the goat curry bowl with coconut rice and it was delicious. Just be mindful of the bones. The plantains were also a nice addition to the bowl. Definitely cominf back to try the other dishes.

Yelp
We went to Pimento before a show at the Ordway. It definitely has "bar" vibes with the music and lights which wasn't necessarily the ambiance we were looking for BUT the staff were friendly, the food was great, and the quickness was just right. We ordered at the counter so we were ready to catch our show at a moment's notice which was perfect. Not to mention the perfectly filling dinner we had.
FOOD: we both had the jerk chicken street option with rice, plantains, and slaw. Such a filling and great option. We also got drinks which were adequately strong and well priced.
SERVICE: friendly and perfect
AMBIANCE: bar vibes but comfortable and definitely perfectly good for us at least (young 20-something's)
Parking; tricky but it's expected in St Paul

Yelp
My girlfriend and I stopped here on a Monday afternoon and we wanted a good meal before heading out for a flight. It was empty inside but we walked up to order and Tommy was super friendly and cool and hooked us up with some jerk chicken, pork and oxtail. The food was all delicious and definitely worth the price. Highly recommend checking them out if in the area. Great service and location!

Yelp
The food here is always pretty flavorful. The service is great as well. The servers are fast and welcoming. The atmosphere seems as tho it gives off a party vibe, but never really packed during the week for lunch.

Yelp
Depends on if you're ok with premade food that's been sitting out under a heater. It's not bad but some people prefer freshly made meals.

Yelp
I made a trip to Pimento here one night by mistake and I was surprised by the amazing level of security. The security was very professional and friendly and the staff was amazing. I had a rum punch while I was there and enjoyed some music before going on my way. The music is loud and that is expected and the vibe was very laid back and relaxing. Most of the people were chatting and having a good time and there was a good-sized dance floor and the music was a mixture of different genres.

Yelp
I strolled in around two pm. There was a table of 3-4 people enjoying their food and the music. I asked the waitress if she had brown stewed chicken because I could have sworn I ate brown stewed chicken from the Minneapolis restaurant but she said it wasn't on the menu. Fine. I ordered curry
Chicken and curry goat. On my ride home, I tried the food which was supposed to be curry chicken. It was curried vegetables. It was terrible. It was sweet and I'm used to savory curry not exotic curry that taste like it was sweetened by dates. I had to trash it. The woman said she had been there two weeks but it is a big thing to give someone curry veggies instead of chicken. They look nothing alike. The curry goat was great. Just wish she'd got my order right and didn't get distracted by the man behind us. I called to rectify it. They refused to answer my call. I will no longer support this brand. Love supporting the Caribbean massive but not at the expense of gross and wrong food.

Yelp
Excellent service and very authentic Jamaican food. It was above and beyond what we had hoped for truly great curried goat and fantastic jerk chicken. Thanks for food that rivaled our many experiences of the food from Jamaica.

Yelp
Food was just ok. Would have preferred fresh/ made to order. Service was good. Music was too loud for daytime service

Yelp
Rice could be better seasoned BUT the food is overall really good. Get two sauces if you're ordering online bc they give big portions!

Yelp
I had the chicken curry and my wife had the jerk chicken. Both were delightful! The panteens were really good. We went for lunch and skipped alcohol, but a dull bar and beer wall should do the trick!
