The 11 Best Long Island Wineries - Long Island - The Infatuation

"Pindar is one of the largest wineries on all of Long Island, and it’s also one of the most affordable. They make just about every type of wine and there’s plenty of space to spread out, so everyone from your die-hard Big Red aunt to your cousin who just turned 21 and likes moscato will be pleased. Their Pythagoras Bordeaux bottle is very impressive given its $23 price point, and you should grab one to bring to your next dinner party. If you’re around on the weekend, you can spend a few hours enjoying a bottle during their live music nights." - anne cruz

Union Organizing at Starbucks Is Part of Growing Union Momentum in the Food and Restaurant Industries | Eater

"A group of 12 vineyard workers who tend grape vines on Long Island won state certification as a union—the first farmworker union in New York history—and are negotiating a contract to secure sick and personal days and better overtime pay. Organizers and advocates say the victory required courage and was enabled by the state's Farm Laborers Fair Labor Practices Act, and workers are now working to translate that legal protection into tangible workplace gains." - Lisa Held

Came here over the summer because of the great reviews and word-of-mouth. Truthfully, I was expecting a more sophisticated vibe. A lot of the guests here were dressed very casual and brought foldable chairs, so my group stood out (because we wore the opposite). Did not like the self-serve aspect (you have to order flights/drinks at the counter in the front and bring it to your table). Also, the bathroom was to the side separate of the place and was far away from our seats towards the vineyard. Some of the wines we had were very enjoyable such as the Summer Blush and Autumn Gold, the rest we weren’t too crazy about. The wine flights were a great price though, $15 for any selection of 5 wines. We didn’t like that they came in plastic cups, we thought the presentation could’ve been much better but we later figured since it’s self-serve the plastic was probably used to prevent any glass breaking. Overall some aspects of this vineyard didn’t live up to our standards and personal tastes, but it offered some delicious wines for a great price.

Great atmosphere, great staff, great views. Came here with family and friends, we had a good time. Live band playing while we took some wine sips. They have indoor and outdoors where you can sit and relax with your family. The sunset around this part of town is spectacular! Perfect for those that love pictures.

Pindar Vineyards in Peconic, NY, is a gem in the heart of the North Fork, radiating some of the best vibes in the region. As soon as you arrive, you're greeted by the sprawling vineyards that set the stage for a memorable experience. The tasting room is spacious and inviting, with a laid-back, unpretentious atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease. The staff at Pindar are not just knowledgeable about wine, they’re passionate about it, and their enthusiasm is infectious. Whether you’re a seasoned wine lover or a curious beginner, they make you feel welcome and guide you through their extensive selection with genuine warmth. The wines themselves are a delightful journey through the flavors of Long Island. Their signature Dr. Dan’s Merlot is a standout, rich and smooth with just the right amount of tannins. The Sunflower Chardonnay is another must-try, offering a bright, crisp taste that perfectly complements a sunny day at the vineyard. What sets Pindar apart, though, is the overall vibe. The outdoor seating area is perfect for sipping a glass of wine while taking in the beautiful views of the vineyard. Live music often fills the air, adding to the relaxed, joyful atmosphere. It’s the kind of place where you can easily spend an entire afternoon, enjoying great wine, good company, and the simple pleasures of life. If you’re exploring the North Fork, Pindar Vineyards is an absolute must-visit. It’s not just about the wine here; it’s about the experience, the people, and the unforgettable vibes that make you want to come back time and time again.

It’s a nice vineyard, decent wines but they taste more like Canadian reds, lack complexity. Even the full bodied reds are not rounded. But the atmosphere is good, staff is friendly, makes a nice little outing.

Visited here with my boyfriend and some cousins/friends and I must say this was a great experience. The live music was a very nice touch. What's great is that you can bring your own food also. The wine tasting was amazing. I loved the sangria! The big chair is great for photo ops also!

Google
I highly recommend visiting Pindar Vineyards for a tour and/or tasting! And I write very few reviews so when I do, it’s because I was blown away by the experience 😉. Our group of six was interested in a tour to learn about the wines and winemaking process, in addition to tasting the wines. After contacting at least 10 wineries on the North Fork and striking out with each one, I was told that Pindar is one of the few that offers tours. And they were the only winery able to accommodate us on short notice (24 hrs) - which was especially gracious since they’re in the middle of harvest season! Nancy took my call and was happy to schedule a tour for the following day, followed by a tasting. She could not have been nicer! Meeting Nancy in person and learning from her about Pindar’s operation and their wines was an extraordinary experience!! She is super knowledgeable, friendly, and the most gracious host. We learned ALOT during our tour. And she does a great tasting experience, as well. She is a super lady!! I can’t say enough about how welcome Nancy and everyone else at Pindar made us feel. And the wines are really wonderful as well. Whether you prefer reds, whites or sparkling wines, there is something special for you at Pindar. We finished our visit by sharing a bottle on their lovely outdoor deck while watching the sun set. If you ever have the opportunity to visit this amazing place, I believe you will be very happy you did! It’s really something special.

Google
I brought my daughter and her roommate from college here (they recently graduated CMU). It was a very pleasant experience. Having moved in the area recently we've been visiting many wineries and this one is in the top 3 for sure. The staff is VERY helpful, informative and spends a lot of time with you. Quality time. The wine is very good and reasonably priced. This will be a frewuant stop now that I am 20 minutes away!

Google
Great place to sit among green vineyards and enjoy a bottle of chilled wine. The atmosphere is young and lively and the wine selection is very impressive. The ones we tasted were nice, but not fine enough. Worth coming here for atmosphere and view. Anyway after two glasses all the wines have the same taste.

Yelp
Awesome staff, beautiful venue, live music, and great wine! My friends and I had such a fun time celebrating a bachelorette party here

Yelp
Visited here very OFF season, on a cold, rainy Friday early afternoon in mid-November, and pretty much had the place to ourselves. IMO, that may just be the best (if less scenic/festive...) way to visit a winery!! No lines, no crowds, and TONS of attention/inside info from the knowledgeable bartender (orig. from Guatemala, wish I remembered her name!!) My brother, S.I.L. and I each ordered flights... So many great choices!! I'm a white/rose fan, and I definitely had plenty of options. We shared cheese and crackers, and learned a lot not only about the winery and its history, but about the whole region as well. I loved the "insider" info!! Though I grew up on Long Island, this was my first trip out this way, and Pindar was a great first spot to visit!! Hoping this will be my first visit of many out to this wonderful "neck of the woods!!" Cheers!!! ENJOY...

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday with my wife and another couple. We arrived around 12:30, place was quite crowed, and they had ample tables and seating. We grabbed a table in the rear of the main deck. Started to set up our food which you can bring, no alcohol though. Once we were seated, we headed to the bar to order our flights. They were $15 for 5 tastings. I ordered the Sunflower Chardonnay, Autumn Gold, White Blend, Sauvignon Blanc and the Sweet Scarlet. My wife and the other couple order similar flights. Our Bartender John poured our flights and number them in the order we should drink them. Very nice so we would have a good tasting. He was very efficient, knowledgeable and a cool bartender, very entertaining as we kidded around with him. He gave us a nice experience. Then we went back out table conducted out tastings and our food samples. It was a beautiful day, and we enjoyed ourselves very much. Pindar has been there for quite some time and one of the best wineries. It's always kept up with the times, clean and spacious, plenty of staff to assist you, the decor is very inviting with upscale bars. Plenty of good wine to choose from. They even had a band playing. Hope to return soon before the weather gets too cold. Cheers!!

Yelp
Great place to spend the day with the family & experience the North Fork. The Summer Blush was a huge hit. Big thanks to Enzo and Maggie for bringing the ENERGY, check them out! We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Really good wine choices for whatever your palette is. I also liked the tour. Would definitely go again

Yelp
Enjoyed a really pleasant wine tasting here. I loved the display of historic corkscrews in the foyer, as well as the overall atmosphere of the tasting room. They also have outdoor seating. I prefer dry wines and really enjoyed their variety of wines. I also appreciated that the tasting was reasonably priced and organized (they numbered the wine tasting sheet and put the glasses on their respective numbers). The staff member we interacted with was knowledgeable about the wine, the history of the winery, and just overall really friendly. If I lived in the area, I would come here frequently! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Fun spot for a casual tasting! 5 wines for $15 with generous pours. Service was quick and you could sit anywhere (you do not need to stand by the bar counter)! There was live music on the outside patio until 5p and it was super enjoyable and relaxed. Of the wines, I found some whites too tart and some reds too astringent but there are no hills on LI for the flavors other wines develop. Otherwise, it was a good spot to just relax, and I would come again to try some more wines and enjoy good company and music!

Yelp
Came last night with my mom and boyfriend for the dueling pianos. It was alright. I found they talked more than sang and when they got to my request the other pianist took it which I found rude, considering the first guy had just mentioned how much he loved my requested song. Just felt bad for him. However, in terms of wine and food this place was great. A beautiful location it's spacious and I enjoyed a tasting of the spring wine they had which when you check in on Yelp it is offered! The Pinot noir was delicious as well and I was shocked by the pizza not gonna lie. Overall it was a beautiful evening and the music was very good!

Yelp
Getting into wine, so my boyfriend and I had to make a stop at Pindar. Everyone knows Pindar.. We each tried some whites and some reds. All had some decent undertones and a unique taste. The atmosphere was nice too. There is some food for sale but I saw some people with their own food, so that's a plus! Service was nice and attentive. Definitely a nice spot for wine!

Yelp
This is my third stop, fellow Yelpers! So far, Pindar Vineyards is another great place for a good glass of wine, and good company too! Pindar offers great wine and they have beautiful views of the vineyards. We were told by a staff member, the Sunflower field will blossom between August and September. I would definitely come back soon!

Yelp
Love it here. Plenty of seating. Outside and indoor seating. Music outside. You can bring your own food and buy drinks and sit outside and listen to music. Sunflowers outside. They do have food to purchase.

Yelp
great outdoor music series enjoyed over Summer and Fall! THANK YOU for planning such nice events and for the bathrooms

Yelp
Nice variety of wines including both dry and somewhat sweet from many grape varieties. They number your tasting selection to make it easy to remember which is which after being poured. It was chilly so we stayed inside but they have a lot of outdoor seating available in addition to the inside tasting room which is large on its own. I was in a sweet mood that day and the blush was my favorite. Not too sweet and the strawberry flavor was noticeable.

Yelp
They had a great selection of wines and their price is great(cheaper than neighbor wineries). Loved how they give you free crackers when you purchase the cheese and salami box. Their desert wine was AWESOME! And loved their sparking wine selection as well. I was lucky enough to have the live music on Wednesday, as Pindar crew were hosting a private tour party with a singer on stage(It said they have live music on weekends). Super friendly members working and they give you a good recommendations on wines even if you're not familiar with the kinds of the wines they have.

Michelle B.

Yelp
I LOVED IT! I've never been to a winery but everyone was so nice & welcoming & went into detail about the varieties they offered in a beginner friendly way. We got two wine flights for $15 each & got to pick 5 wines from their list of about 20 or so. The lovely lady helping us explained each wine, it's taste & even told us her favorites as well! In addition, everyone was super kind to our girl Daisy as this is a dog friendly place! Which was amazing & hard to find in NYC. We also got the brick oven pizza with our flights as well which was a little small for the price but you are able to bring your own food! The aesthetic was sooo beautiful & my family enjoyed our trip here. I even bought a bottle for my mother and the olive oil chips they have on the gift shop (which were both amazingggg). I highly recommend this place to anyone :)

Yelp
Gorgeous vineyard and a MUST on your North Fork vineyard tour. It's no secret that they have such an exquisite and extensive menu, as they are Long Island's largest wine producer. I thoroughly enjoyed tasting the variety that they offer and everyone working here was very knowledgeable and on point about the wine notes. The wines are mainly on the sweet side, so you may be disappointed if you're looking for a wide selection of dry wines. The Riesling dessert wine was probably my favorite but I highly recommend getting a flight--or even a few, to try everything. The one thing that I was a little disappointed with was that they didn't offer a food menu, other than some snacks, especially being the most popular winery on Long Island. There aren't many food options within distance either, so I highly recommend bringing some light bites. My friends made it a point to make this the first stop of our wine tour and they got it right--it got super busy not long after we had arrived. Be prepared to see lots and lots of bachelorette groups.

Yelp
Pindar is a pretty popular vineyard. Quite large layout too. We saw a few people bring their own food as well so that's a plus. Photo-op wise there is a huge chair that can be used as a prop. They have pizza and snacks for sale. I really like that they also offered Sangria, delish. For the tasting, Abigail was so helpful and knowledgeable. You get to sample 5. Some of the wines that stood out to me was the Sunflower wine, Winter White wine and the sweet scarlett.
google avatar

John C.

Yelp
Great Vineyard with a large selection of wines at affordable prices. This is one of only a few vineyards on Long Island that allow customers to bring their own foods and spend time on their deck or in their pavilion as long as they do not bring any outside alcoholic beverages. They also provide musical entertainment either inside the tasting room or in the pavilion throughout the year. During this visit the musical performance was by "Strawberry Fields", the Beatles Tribute band that originally started as "Beatlemania" on Broadway. It was a great day out!

Yelp
Great environment! Beautiful views and excellent wine. One of my "must-visits" when we're in the area. Love the shaded patio! Update: a cashier was very rude when someone in my party tried to use their military discount. She rolled her eyes when it was attempted to be used and this happened multiple times. I find this extremely unprofessional, especially on a holiday like the 4th of July. If it was such a hassle, maybe it shouldn't even be offered.
google avatar

Yelp
Pindar What a beautiful vineyard a lot going on. Picnic tables to share food and order a bottle of wine, walk in the Vineyard, live music, and the people working there were great. Martha was the best! I WOULD RECOMMEND!
google avatar

Yelp
We loved our experience there and have been back several times, it's never disappointed. The food, wines and music make it a great experience. Family friendly too.

Yelp
Casual vineyard, north fork, Peconic, NY We visited the vineyard Sunday afternoon. It was a very large vineyard with indoor and large outdoor space. You can buy wine inside and bring outside food or purchase pizza/pretzels. There was a band playing songs. We bought a bottle of 2020 Gewurztraminer. The wine was dry and fruity white wine. Enjoyed the wine with the olives, cheese and crackers. It was a very relaxing summer afternoon with a great view of the vineyard....
google avatar

Kerri B.

Yelp
Had a great time here with the boyfriend and his family! We all enjoyed the tasting experience, and those of us who were not really wine drinkers were taught a thing or two by staff. It can be a fun learning experience, and staff is friendly and knowledgeable so don't be hesitant or afraid to ask. Wine prices and the tastings are very reasonable, I highly recommend this! Summer Blush and Winter White are the faves for us!
google avatar

Kimmy U.

Yelp
4 stars for the venue, but 2 stars for the wine We recently visited the vineyard during a trip to Greenport, looking for wineries that weren't too crowded during COVID. There are a lot of seating areas at this winery, which is great when you want to be 6 ft apart! Pictures also showed a beautiful sunflower field, but nothing was in bloom when we went :( Their tasting is fairly cheap compared to other winers, with 5 tastings for less than $20 if I remember correctly. The pours are a little smaller, but what amazed me was their huuge selection! They had so many to choose from, it was hard to decide. Unfortunately, we only liked maybe 2 or so from the 10 we got (two tastings). We probably wouldn't come back here for the wine, but it is a nice place to sit and relax.
google avatar

Justin R.

Yelp
Huge vineyard with some nice seating options within the cozy indoor space, also with 2 overhangs where you can hang out and enjoy some wine. The wine, however, I thought to be cheap and way too sweet and I tried both reds and whites. Definitely a nice place to hang out but for quality, I would head to bedell next door.
google avatar

Kelsey S.

Yelp
No reservation required. First come, first serve. It was $15 a tasting. You get 5 choices of wines. They have a huge selection to choose from. Bottles to buy and bring home. They have a lovely indoor bar. But also outside they have two lovely decks to sit at. Also beautiful grape vines to look at. It is a wonderful place to come with groups and it is not all that expensive. There is a parking lot in front. They also sell merchandise like hats, glasses, blankets and sweaters. Also give you a complementary bag of chips!

Yelp
My girlfriend and I met up with 2 other couples at this winery. I have not tried it before, and received some good recommendations to visit here. When we arrived, their was a large parking lot, so parking was not an issue. We did not have reservations, but came very early on a Saturday and got a table right away. First bottle we tried was a riesling. This was excellent. Very smooth. Next bottle we tried was a cabernet sauvignon. This was also another great choice. Between both of these wines, I personally liked the cabernet better, as I'm a more red win drinker, however the table all chose the riesling as the better one. And our 3rd bottle ordered was another riesling lol. Overall, the wines tasted great here. They even had someone playing some live music for entertainment. There was a nice section to buy some wine bottles and merch to go as well. We all had a fun time here.

Yelp
Our family loves this vineyard. We held our sisters engagement party there at 1pm when the live band starts. We went at 10am with table clothes and reserved 6 tables which was plenty for our 50 guests coming. A few cases of wine and we had the perfect festive party for our sis! Attracts a welcome warm friendly crowd that's dog friendly.

Yelp
One of the cutest vineyards I've been to, but it is huuuugely popular as well. Known for their sweet wines and Instagram worthy sunflower fields. I visited on a Saturday afternoon and it was packed with multiple bachelorette parties and groups. The vineyard itself is huge, so it can accommodate a lot of people, but just something to be aware of. My friends and I each ordered the wine tasting (5 wines for $12), which was a great deal. They have a wide selection of whites, reds, and sparkling wines. One of my favorites would be the winter white. The servers were friendly but extremely busy due to the huge crowds. As for food, the options are limited to soft pretzels and pizza. We ordered the pizza, and sadly it was nothing special. However, the sangria they sell at the food station was stellar!! Definitely try it!
google avatar

Yana B.

Yelp
Terrible service, dirty and cheap looking facility. It seems like the bartenders are ao incredibly annoyed by you walking in. After an intence stare the bartender asked - how can I help you? Seriously?? It is a wime tasring room! A menu maybe??
google avatar

Parinita S.

Yelp
The wine was good. The service was good. The people were super sweet. The ambiance was good! The presentation, however, another level. I did the wine tasting but they literally gave me a paper plate and plastic cups to drink from. My sister got a plastic cup for her drink as well. Wasn't expecting wine to be served in plastic cups at an actual vineyard.
google avatar

Ashok J.

Yelp
We went to check out the hype. Needless to say, the place was packed, there were so many Bachelorette parties. We got their best seller, the summer blush and downed a whole bottle outside under a nice weather. This is just white wine with added strawberry flavor but was so easy to drink. Yelp check in gave me a sample of the autumn gold but did not like it. Good place to hang out with friends and family. They also have some small eats to purchase if you forgot to pack food. Overall, we dis enjoy our experience here.

Yelp
Pindar was amazing. No reservation needed. Tables were first come first serve basis. It wasn't a problem for us. There was a security guard in the parking lot with a sign to check in with him first and handed us a flyer. As we walked in the front main door, the tasting room, there wasn't anyone nor a host. This was why I deducted a star. We roamed around ourselves aimlessly trying to figure out what is what and where to go. All the staff behind the wine tasting counter were occupied with their guests. No one acknowledged us except for this Asian lady behind the counter as she was also occupied with a group of ppl. Not only did she acknowledged us, she also directed us to goto her counter as she was finishing up with her previous guests. She explained to us all our choices as far as wine tasting and the tables outside. Thank you for what you did. Thank you for making us feel welcome. Overall Pindar is def a great place to be with families and friends. 5 sample of wines for about $15 or you can buy per bottle. They have a huge outdoor seating with shaded patio right by the pizza bar place to a sunnier place, the picnic tables on their well groomed ground. Like many said, the atmosphere is unbeatable and we had a great day. Live music was a plus. We had cheese, cracker toast, Margherita pizza, pretzels and ended up with 4 bottles of wines (Summer Blend, Autumn Gold, Riseling and Chardonnay). We were there this past Saturday with a party of 8 (7 adults/ 1 toddler) and arrived around 1130am. We were glad that we ended up here from the long list of winery we had. The vineyard was very clean and properly social distanced. Security guards were on top of their games. Making sure all patrons have their mask on when they stepped away from their table. Bathrooms were clean as well. Outside food and picnic blankets are allowed as well. My 3yo enjoyed his time as well. Pindar had crayons, coloring books, board games and little soldier figurines keeping him busy. Pindar is beautiful and we would definitely be back.

Yelp
We wanted to arrange a special day for out-of-town friends and Pindar did not disappoint. We arranged a tour and private tasting for our group of six, which I was a bit apprehensive about, fearing they'd be bored. But the tour was terrific. Nancy, our guide, is extremely knowledgeable about both Pindar and North Fork viniculture in general, and the history of this relatively young industry here on NoFo is fascinating. When we arrived Nancy was running a minute or two late, finishing with another group, and a friendly man instantly offered us a taste of the Sauvignon Blanc while we waited, which was v ery nice. I found out later he was Pindar Damianos, the GM and nameskae of the winery. After our impressive tour, we tasted several wines in a private room. I realized that, while I don't care for the heavy, oaky taste of many Chardonnays and have avoided them for years, the Chardonnays out on NoFo are lighter and delicious - at least the ones we tasted here. We also enjoyed and bought bottles of the Cuvee Rare (sparkling) and the Viognier for dinner at Southold Social (which didn't yet have its liquor license.) It was a wonderful day!

Yelp
I have been to Pindar several times. The vineyard is appealing The wine is good. Not great. But also not very expensive. The grounds are beautiful. The employees very polite. Looking forward to coming back

Yelp
Deb our sommelier is fantastic, she's hilarious, let aside the knowledge which she has it, a sommelier needs to read the costumers and have the right suggestions and make the experience a pleasant one, she did that and more.

Yelp
Over the past weekend my husband and I went to Pindar for champagne tasting. Our guide Nancy was wonderful she taught us so much about champagne, wine as well as the history of the vineyard and the town itself. She showed us around the vineyard and taught us a lot about the process of making wine and champagne. The wine and champagne was delicious. We will definitely be back again and can't thank Nancy enough for the wonderful experience!!!

Shaddia J.

Yelp
This was the best winery experience ever!!! the staff was amazing and attentive. we enjoyed the ambiance and the music. We will definitely be back soon. Thank you sooo much for your excellent service and even remembering my name Shaddia is pretty hard to remember. My mom enjoyed her 60th at Pindar Vineyard.... 10 thumbs up... xoxo from the whole bus.

Yelp
- Huge selection of wine - Wine flight is only $10 for 5 wines - Friendly people - Outdoor and indoor seating - Loved their specialty wines like Summer Blush and Winter White - Live music Keep in mind most of their wines are sweet, which is probably why there are so many bachelorette parties there (and very loud). If you're into dry wines, go to Lenz next door for some really amazing selections.

Yelp
Absolutely AMAZING experience at Pindar, from the moment we walked in to when we left. By far my favorite winery on the north fork. The hospitality at this winery is out of this world. As soon as we walked in, we were immediately greeted and were given options of how to enjoy the evening. We decided to do the tastings near the back. The server that was helping us was so fun and knowledgable. She gave us each a sheet and walked through the different acidity/tastes of each wine, as well as gave us recommendations. She helped each of us pick five options ($15 for the whole tasting), and then brought them over for us. There was also the option of buying a bottle and enjoying it in person too. It's a more casual setting compared to some of the other vineyards- the wines were poured in plastic cups and served on a paper plate (pictured below). Our favorites were the Dr. Dan's selections (2020 Gewürztraminer and the 2019 White blend). But honestly, all of their options were amazing. I loved that they had white wine options, red wine options, blends, award winners, sparkling wines, and dessert wines. Something for everyone. This winery definitely had a more chill vibe than the other wineries we went to, which we loved. There was live jazz music playing in the back, and many people sitting at the bars or tables laughing and having fun. The outdoor area is MASSIVE with so many tables and seating options, and they usually have an outdoor food stand where you can buy $12 personal pizzas (the weather was so rainy so they closed it). When we were leaving, we decided to buy some bottles to take home because we loved them so much. If you bought 3-5 bottles, you received 5% off of your order, and 6-11 bottles got you 10% off. But all of the wines were very reasonably priced and you won't feel like you're breaking the bank at all. We also got a cute Pindar wine glass as a souvenir for just $2. We were helped by the manager, who was so friendly, and gave us the whole rundown of all of their summer events/ outdoor concerts. He stated that you can also bring your own outside food and enjoy it on the patio with your wine in the summer. Will 100% be making Pindar one of our regular stops in Long Island. One of our favorite experiences of our weekend getaway for sure.

Yelp
Beautiful spot to have a picnic with loved ones, plenty of seating and space. I used to really love the wine here but slowly I've come to dislike a few of the cheaper ones. The service here is always good though and we love that you can bring your own food. Great spot!

Yelp
Pindar vineyards is my favorite stop on the north fork of Long Island. I really love all of their wines and always send a case home to myself after I stop in for a tasting. They have a great space, are following COVID-19 protocols seriously, while still maintaining a nice time. My favorite wines include: Summer Blush, Sweet Scarlet, Pythagoras, as well as many of their reserve wines. They have many seasonal wines which are excellent as well. Their Prosecco is a good option too if you're looking for some bubbly. They are reasonably priced! I just wish I could find their wines in Manhattan without having to get it shipped. I always make it a point to stop here any time that I go out to the Hamptons and make a nice day trip of it.

Yelp
Went wine tasting with a Metro North getaway package in July. Pindar was one of my favorite North Fork Vineyards. The ambiance was wonderful especially the sunflower fields which surround the vineyard. At the tasting since I like big bold reds was the Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Barrel Select 2015. I bought a few bottles and enjoyed with a beef dinner. Definitely go here if you are in North Fork for wine tasting.

Yelp
Wonderful seating outdoors this past summer, and with a wine flight in front of me, it was a very relaxing way to spend an afternoon . So many good wines to choose from and friendly staff. The best part is they don't force you to buy their food, you can bring a cooler or a brown bag and sit and eat and drink.

Yelp
Pindar is the California Robert Mondavi of the North Fork. Lots of wine, good production, quality is up, a well known name, always reliable. And they have a few better wines that are super. Pindar is the quintessential Long Island North Fork white wine source. It belongs on everyone's table outside in summer with fruit and cheese. Bring Pindar to everyone you know! Hmm.. no more wine for tonight.

Yelp
The vineyard is pretty big, enough space if you're looking to social distance. They have a good selection of wine and the staff are very friendly. They also have board and card games which you use during your time there. The only feedback I have is that I wish they had real brick oven pizza instead of using the frozen ones.

Yelp
If you love wine, day-drinking, and chill awesome people, you definitely have to plan a day out in Pindar Vineyards! AMBIANCE: Pindar has a very relaxed welcoming vibe, right from the minute you walk in. (Beware of the cats on the front porch, if you're allergic, but they don't approach people anyways.) On some days, they have live music, which adds a nice buzz to the air! They have a few tables inside, but if you want to snag one, the earlier you get there, the better. I do however, prefer to chill directly at the tasting bar, but please note that there is no seating available at the tasting bar. They also have a private tasting room, but I cannot comment on it as I have never used it. SERVICE: I have been here several times, and have never ever been disappointed. You are greeted with a smile from the moment you walk in, and all of the associates are very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I definitely learn something new every time I go there. I highly recommend participating in one of their special events if you have the chance. I personally have taken the Champagne Tour and the Barrel Tasting Tour, and most recently enjoyed their Pairing w/ North Fork Doughnut Co, and definitely look forward to trying out more! FOOD: For most of the year, there really isn't any. They do have crackers and cheese for purchase, but ideally, you should probably eat before you arrive. In the summer however, they do have food trucks, so you can simply check their website for the schedule. Additionally, you can pack yourself an awesome picnic and bring it, so long as you eat outside (not inside the main tasting room). There is plenty of seating outside on their patio, complete with umbrellas for cool shade. Just be aware that if you're there on a day that is slightly more on the windy side, they may not allow you to open the umbrellas due to safety reasons. There is also additional seating in the "backyard". WINE RECS: Rosé: Summer Blush, Red: Isabella, White: Viognier (But all of their wines are amazing, to be honest!) NOTES: There is ample additional parking on the side/back. Don't feel discouraged if the front looks full upon arrival. The bathrooms are "outside" (in a separate stand-alone building, assuming you aren't already outside).

Yelp
The wine is meh.... tasted very acidic compared to your everyday wine. The quality wasn't there, and a lot of the wines were on the sweeter side, not for me. A huge hall that fits large groups and they also have commercial beer for those who don't drink wine. A lot of buses and large counters for massive groups and parties. You get a bulk discount for bulk bottles.
