The Best Bars In Bushwick - New York - The Infatuation

"Pine Box Rock Shop used to be a coffin factory, and now it’s a music venue and very cool beer bar. There’s a stage area in the back for concerts, and TVs for watching the game in a setting that doesn’t feel like a sports bar. Come with friends and play I Spy with the vintage concert ticket stubs under the plexiglass bar counter (bonus points if you can find the Patti Smith ticket from 2001)." - Neha Talreja, Bryan Kim

Amazing atmosphere! Great music, great staff. Bring a group of friends and enjoy the incredible selection of cocktails here. Also, try the vegan pizza it’s top notch 👍🏾

Atma

Google
One of the best beer bars in Brooklyn. They have a great staff excellent selection of beers that are always rotating, and a fun friendly atmosphere. When the weather is nice the front patio is definitely the place to be.

Tricia C

Google
Cool place with live music, some outdoor seating and really awesome bartenders!

Maura Sateriale

Google
Don't tell anyone but I'm really not cool enough to hang out here. They think I'm a cool Brooklyn girl who wears glasses but I just wear glasses because I'm a nerdy chess club loser who will never go to prom. I hate my stepdad I love vegan tacos

Ted Barnett

Google
Awesome place. Big comfortable bar out front, cool stage in back for comedy, music, game nights. Great non-alcohol menu for us teetotalers, booze for the rest. We will be back.

James Nance

Google
Great spot for trivia, comedy, bands and everything in between. Awesome bartenders and a well selected craft beer menu. Lots of seating and TV for sports (if that's your jam).

Thomas Stubbs

Google
Great little dive with comedy in the back. Bring back the rock and roll.

Kat Tharp

Google
Short staffed when we were there, so couldn’t make cocktails, but had a great beer & shot deal. Food (pizza) was good. Would definitely return. Nice large back room for private events.

Yelp
I came here for a unique vampire show, which was in the back room of the bar. I have to warn that it is extremely cold at the bar so make sure to keep your jacket on or order their hot alcoholic beverages. Unfortunately, they had ran out of hot apple cider and boozy hot chocolate so I ended up ordering their most sour draft beer. I don't usually drink beer but this drink sounded interesting with a mix of oranges and mangos. I loved it! I was also hungry and wanted a quick snack while waiting for the show to start so I asked the bartender about the nachos with jalapeños. He recommended it but I wasn't so sure about the jalapeños since I didn't want to burn off my tongue. He said that he could give me the nachos without it but highly recommended it. He then added that he didn't want to pressure me in choosing something I didn't want. So he was very helpful and thoughtful. I ended up going for the full nacho experience and loved it. The art on the wall in this place is meant to be hard rock with its skulls and coffin drawings garnishing the place. I loved it! The bathroom has tons of porn picture, which made me feel like a teenager again sneaking into a bar that I'm prohibited from going to. Definitely made me feel naughty. I recommend this bar if you're in the Bushwick area!

Yelp
Love, love, LOVE! Their Wednesday trivia night is the best in the area, they play all the football games on Sundays but without the typical dude-heavy crowd, AND they just started doing pizza. Their bartenders are super-friendly and their draft selection is top notch. There was a birthday party happening last time I was in and they sounded like they were having the time of their lives. Great vibes all around!

Yelp
Cheers! We love this place for their Bloody Mary menu and dog friendly vibe. It's a super chill yet lively spot to watch a game or hang with friends. Any place that's dog friendly scores extra points in our book. BUT what prompted my review today is the way they're taking care of our Brooklyn neighborhoods. Covid-19 has wreaked havoc on the food and bar industry, when we heard they offered delivery we jumped on it! We were outside of the delivery area yet they took our order anyway and delivered to us super quickly! They also gave us all the fixings for margaritas and bloody marys and we're very friendly in the process!

Yelp
I love this place. Especially with a dark & stormy with lime. Walking up there's normally a small crowd off the sidewalk enjoy the good weather and a few people floating in and out the door. I was more lost with all the artwork. Outdoor drinking and artwork is my thing. Some cute dogs being posed for (most likely) an instagram pic finally got me to check out the image on the cups. Pine Box. I needed a drink when the name/picture finally hit me. Had to test out the bartenders. Bartenders were friendly and seem willing to make some cocktails after asking a few questions on our taste. Indoor and outdoor seating so I had plenty of options to where I wanted to take my drink. Top of a dark & stormy with a lemony sangria and a black cherry sangria and I was ready to laugh away for the live comedy. Oh and the many vegan options around had us eating both sweet and savory around our drinks. This place is a win.

Yelp
I love how friendly bartenders are and the large selection of beers ranging from CIDERS to SOUR ALES. The place is huge and they have great happy hour deals. We came here for a dog party event and I will definitely be back!! The beer was amazing. Credit minimum $15

Yelp
Cute little spot in East Williamsburg/Bushwick. It has a fun theme and lots of beer options. I gave it 4 stars because it's pretty expensive for a dive bar - $23 for 2 drinks (beer and margarita). And the bartenders weren't super friendly. Overall, it's a cool place to check out!
google avatar

Yelp
We stumbled into PBRS's outdoor patio after struggling to find outdoor seating at other spots in the area, and I'm so grateful we ended up here. I don't usually like rum, but our server recommended the gingerbread dark and stormy with gingerbread rum and it was incredible, like a Christmas cookie in a cocktail. I switched to their black tea lavender hot toddies as it was getting colder, which were delightful as well. Our server was so kind and we loved chatting with her on this chilly night. Can't wait to return!

Yelp
Love this place, great ambience, friendly staff, nice selection of beers. Definitely worth checking out.

Yelp
Cute little bar in bushwick around the corner from the famous Roberta's. Has a nice vibe and great warm drinks for the cold New York winter! The staff all appear to be kind as well.

Yelp
Finally got a chance to check out this local dive spot which is a vegan bar! Attended their most recent Vegan Shop-up event which seems to be very popular due to the lines for some of the vendors selling food. My first impression of the place was that of a gothic/rock bar with skulls and coffins décor around the place. Their drinks, specifically the bloody Mary, appear popular as that is what most visitors were drinking. The place was bigger than anticipated with enough elbow room to roam throughout the space. The music was good, pretty much rocking and rolling...lol. So happy to see that they're a dog-friendly establishment, many locals had their four legged pups with them which really gravitates to me, as I'm a dog lover. The vendors taking part on the vegan shop-up event mostly consisted of prepared food, which made my belly very happy. Tried two different selections of soft shell tacos by Vegicano, which I didn't want to share with my boo, who was practically salivating for it. We also noshed on risotto sliders by Risotto Burger, and that was just as delicious as I imagined. No wonder the lines and wait for the food is long, because it really is worth the wait! I look forward to attending their next shop-up to wash down the delicious food with Pine box's popular bloody Mary :).

Yelp
Best Bloody Mary's I've had in my LIFE; best bar top in NYC, best trivia night, best DOGS, awesome & friendly bartenders, incredible draft beer selection, and love them even more so for hosting VSU. Try the Sam in a Sweater!!! I hope this place stays around forever

Yelp
Goth & Rocker escape! The Pine Box Rock n Shop is set up in an old coffin business space. The space has been here since before the huge Bushwick migration. And I have always had a weakness for a rock n roll bar. This recent summer my friend who's vegan me to the vegan empanadas! Wow! They are simple, quick, filling and delicious! I have yet to be disappointed. I normally pick between the black bean and the Philly Cheesesteak mushroom. And another bonus in the summer is the front patio. A playground to meet new locals, boozehounds and musicians (who are most likely playing a show in the back venue). Some nights it's a little too crazy for my liking. Can a bar help but be popular amongst the locals? I recently popped in on a Sunday and it was just my speed. Then I noticed my adorable, uber pregnant bartender still on a step stool writing down the beer menu. Commitment. The lively coffin nail earrings were really up my alley. Turns out Heather is also one of the owners. She was extremely sweet and genuine. She was knew all her regulars, the cutest one being a corgi mix named Fonz! Dog bar = rad bar! I'm always in better spirits when happy puppies are running around. I love supporting a small business that fills the rocker, goth, vegan void in my life! And those closer the the M Central Ave are in luck, their sister bar Precious Metal is also open! PBRNS also hosts Walking Dead viewing in Sunday's and a Vegan Pop Up Shop! And last but not least, you have to check it the mural from local artist Grace Lang!

Yelp
Everyone who works in this place has a horrible snotty attitude. Sorry not sorry. It used to be a nice place but it seems to have gone south quickly. Will not be returning ever again.
google avatar

Kristina B.

Yelp
First came here for the monthly Vegan Shop Up, and thankfully this wasn't my first vegan fest so I knew to get there before 12p. As a result, I got to have an amazing seitan and mushroom torta (sandwich) from Vegicano (his line is formidable, as his food is pretty amazing), a slice of strawberry crumb and some cherry pie from Sweet Maresas (check them out on east 9th Street at The Confectionary), and another slice of cake from a vendor I don't remember (sorry!). Total: $30 spent on what will be a full weekend of deliciousness. *only subtracted one star because I didn't get a chance to sample anything from Pine Box Rock Shop, but I'm not much of a drinker so might be awhile for that. JOIN THE VEGAN REVOLUTION!

Yelp
Have been here a few times now and their Vegan Pop Up shop is usually what brings me back! They have tons of vendors here on Saturdays which is always fun to browse as you have a Blood Mary! The service is slow - during the World Cup (which they were showing), they had one bartender for the entire place. I love that you can bring in your own food as well.

Yelp
Super hipster bar in popping part of Brooklyn! Came here for a comedy show on Friday night, super fun and free ! It showcased some local talented comics. I ordered two vodka red bulls and it cost me $18, not too bad. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the bartenders were really nice ! Bathrooms are gender neutral and have awesome collages made from 80's and 90's playboys! I really loved all the work that was put in to cover every part of the wall. I'll definitely be back and recommend people to check it out !
google avatar

Lexie M.

Yelp
Interesting punk rock bar that has a line up mostly of IPA and pale ales. Friendly staff and had the unique but tasty blood orange sour beer. Had TVs you could watch sports and evidently in the back they have a dance/comedy room? Not my type of bar but people there seemed to love it.
google avatar

Carol X.

Yelp
I saw a review saying this place has the best bathroom to take a selfie That was the only reason I went. Indeed, the bathroom was covered by porn pictures and there was no space left to take a selfie lol. But still, this place is worth the trip. The alcohol was also great.
google avatar

Nala P.

Yelp
Great customer service and Bloody Marys. They also have a nice beer selection. Bushwick staple.

Paul S.

Yelp
Such a great venue to visit or host an event at. Just a great looking bar with a wide array of original taste cocktails and offbeat interesting brews served by friendly and knowledgeable staff. Semi private back room with stage perfect for shows and a great outdoor space out front. Good location. I threw a movie night here and the managers were some of the best I've had to deal with. Helpful and more then fair. Just an overall great experience. Highly Recommended!

Yelp
Best local bar in the Bushwick/Williamsburg area. Owners are amazing, staff is super chill, great place to hang out and have a few drinks with friends or watch the game. I always take my buddies from out of town here, its a great little slice of the neighborhood. Rotating draft beer selection can't be beat, mixed drinks are on point. Incredibly sick artwork inside.. :) What's not to love?
google avatar

Hungry B.

Yelp
TLDR; This bar is worth visiting, read ahead for my own opinion I have to say that I personally am not the biggest fan of this bar, but I do want to say that my star rating is only a reflection of my own opinion. I want to be fair to say that this place is a decent bar, it has a nice outside space, it is great for the summer months, and they have events for sports games and trivia, and I believe they even have small music shows in the back. I do say that this bar is worth a visit if you like a selection of beers and casual drinking. I just think they lack a little bit of variety.
google avatar

Yelp
Not a great customer service experience. The owner/manager got upset when we asked why my husbands tab said "f*ck you, (random Indian name)" on a post-it note. (My husband is Indian). All we did was ask why/ how said post-it note ended up on his tab and the manager quickly got offended / defensive, denying it and saying it was impossible (but the photo proves otherwise). He then said "you should leave". The bartender, Tony, however, was kind and apologetic. The manager needs to take a class on diplomatic, rational client service. He didn't have great command on his reactions/ emotions. Asking a customer to leave for simply asking questions around a legitimate problem/question is poor business behavior at best and shitty human living at worst. Photo of our tab with the racial slur of a post-it note attached

Yelp
An awesome location, great for vegan food and craft beers. There is an arcade shooting game that is very difficult (try the zombie shooter). On Wednesdays they run a comedy open mic in the back room which also allows parties and concerts. This is a must go to place in East Williamsburg/Bushwick for cool intimate vibes and delicious drinks.
google avatar

Yelp
Great place, good drinks. They host a lot of open mics which are always fun. Matt is a great bartender and is very awake

Yelp
Pine box. Where do I even begin? Close to being heaven on earth, Pine Box keeps the inside at a toasty temperature, always encouraging long stay and comfortable sits. Showcasing their typical Bushwick location, pine box offers live music and bathrooms covered in graffiti. Last but not least (and best of all!) they have old concert tickets sprawled out across the counter for viewing pleasure. I would post a photo but I don't know how. Figured it out -- thanks!

Yelp
Pinebox is a bar/event space located in Bushwick. It gives off a vintage vibe, with lots of wood and artistic framed work along the walls. The bar is large and the staff friendly. Coat check is available by the door, Im unsure if there is a fee. Patrons ranged from eccentric hipsters to eclectic grunge, I noticed a ton of combat boots and men in tunics lol. I attended a Vegan Shopup event here. It was held in a small backroom, maximum occupancy around 30, comfortably. Theres a small stage in the corner and it seems like a cool spot to catch a show by local performers. Six vendor tables were placed into this room for the Vegan breakfast cookoff event, which left little to no space for people to move about. My mom and I would retrieve our samples and then exit the room to eat our vegan treats. It was tight in there and only got tighter as the time progressed so we didn't stay long. One of the judges, Adam Sobel of The Cinnamon Snail came in with a wallaby in a baby sling! How crazy is that?! Talk about making an entrance lol In light of this event there were specials on Bloody Mary's and mimosas, awesome! The most amazing Chai tea by Chai Mookie was sold at this event as well. It was the best Chai I'd ever had, spicy and delicious! Pinebox is also a pet friendly spot which I'm not a fan of. I saw most patrons holding their animals but I'd rather not have a dog sitting next to me at the bar as I sip on my cocktail.

Melissah L.

Yelp
I visited Pine Box this past weekend as a spot to drink while I waited to be called for a table at Roberta's (it's right around the corner). This spot was relatively uncrowded at 6:30pm on a Friday evening, and my friend and I grabbed a spot at the bar. The first awesome thing about this spot is the venue: huge room with a long bar AND patio seating, too! Something I've been missing since I moved to New York is spacious buildings and high ceilings - you can actually spread out and breathe a little in Pine Box. The second awesome thing is the rotating $4 happy hour special - where else can you find that deal around here? Something I wasn't able to see was the back room where performances are held - this spot hosts live music shows and events, so, I guess I'll just have to come back :).
google avatar

Anton M.

Yelp
I love this place. They have the most enjoyable vegan snacks, and a huge selection of reasonably priced drinks. It's one of the few places I can go to enjoy some of my favorite live music. However, I did notice that the sound is usually less than favorable. Very harsh mid range and highs...hardly any bass :/ Won't keep me from coming back though!
google avatar

Laura P.

Yelp
The 'Sam in a sweater' cocktail was a treat for the tastebuds! Really enjoyed all the tickets on the bar!
google avatar

Yelp
#I love football, but this place is too much for me on Sunday. It's packed. And there were dudes there that looked like #Bushwick-style hipsters that seemed to want to fight these regular #Manhattan-style jock looking dudes, because they were making fun of the Buffalo Bills. It was weird. Otherwise, I think this place is cool. Just too much for me for football Sundays. The #Bloody Mary is pretty good.
google avatar

Jennifer A.

Yelp
The Bloody Mary's are to die for! Short or long (celery stalks) they've got it all, and fresh from their garden too. Vegetables of the pickled variety can be found on your drink, so I suppose it's on the healthy side (if I keep telling myself that, I'll believe it). They can tailor the heat to your desire, some like it hot and I happen to like fire. The last Bloody Mary I tried was so hot, I was like Nelly in herrrrr ready to take my clothes off lol. As far as snacks go, I would recommend trying their vegan empanadas (from V Spot). Do not skimp on the salsa please! Other noteworthy info: They host a vegan shop up event where you can sample different vegan eats (desserts galore!) and purchase cruelty free products including items like wallets and shirts ;) That being said, it's spacious and great to bring a group. The libations are a plenty but I wouldn't hesitate on grabbing one of their signature dranks.

Yelp
I have a buddy from beer club who has a secret plot to turn the world vegan, but he likes beer so I don't let a little thing like plots for world domination get in the way of our friendship. He planned a beer club meetup for this place and called the place "a former casket factory that's now a hipster-y vegan bar". And that is an apt description. I still wasn't sure to expect, but I happily hopped the L train to Morgan Ave and before you can say "seitan", I was walking through the doors at Pine Box. Impressive. That's the word I can think to describe it. Clean and well laid out, with super friendly bartenders, it's a very nice place. Not fancy nice, but chill and relaxed nice. Very good beer selection as well and beer club members were enjoying a wide variety from pilsners to stouts. I stuck with the Brooklyn Winter and it was tasty. They must clean their taps regularly because there was none of that stale aftertaste you get if that doesn't happen. Some of the folks ate some food, which they all said was good. The crowd seemed nice too. Nobody looked at me cross-eyed because I was wearing a suit rather than a full beard, trucker hat and horn rimmed glasses. Actually, I was impressed by the variety of beards that were there. What can I say, I appreciate diversity in facial hair! I would definitely recommend this place. If you think it's in the middle of nowhere, get over yourself. It is a block from the subway and the train probably takes you 10-15 minutes tops to get into Manhattan. You don't have to be vegan or be in beer club to like this place. You just have to be awesome....like me.
google avatar

Wesleyan T.

Yelp
This place was packed to the brim, but the only ANNOYING part is thir advertisement was very misleading. Right in the middle of the bar, up on the wall, is a sign posted : Happy Hour Daily. Draught beers (were either $4 or $5). When i ordered a beer, the bartender said the sign wasnt true and that it wasnt happy hour. WTF? Please write more clarifying signs then and dont have an attitude when i call you out on the sign. I wish i can curse on here, but i will be very lady like. But the bartender with the disastrous curly brown hair was something that rhymed with Funt.
google avatar

Yelp
Pine Box is a cool bar, but it's also host to some great events: Vegan Shop Up, and punk rock karaoke. It's super vegan friendly, including that you can always buy vegan empanadas for just $4 each. They are so good - flavors like philly cheese or jerk seitan. Their bloody marys are huge and chock full of pickles.
google avatar

Jennifer H.

Yelp
Solid hangout. It's also prime people-watching territory. There are a lot of hipsters wearing mismatched clothing, and karaoke going on in the back room. On my birthday, the DJ let me skip the line and sing next (contributing to the 5-star rating). The beer selection is great. It's not that they have a ridiculous number (maybe 10 of 'em), but there is definitely a good variety. They even have Original Sin cider on tap! I tried the Brooklyn Defender and was very pleased. Don't get shots here though. The bartenders don't know how to make them (sorry guys!). All of the employees are super nice, but the last time they made me a shot I couldn't even drink it out of fear of diabetes from all the grenadine they dumped in there... and i do NOT let shots go to waste unless absolutely necessary. So, go there. Drink your beer and sing me bar songs -- wearing your finest plaid shirt with cheetah print leggings, and a tutu -- of course.

Yelp
This is a really great space, with excellent service and a fantastic event on Second Saturdays called the Vegan Shop Up. They open up the space to external vendors who sell all kinds of vegan foods. Wonderful idea. But, as a bar, I would give them one star. My $12 cocktail had absolutely no alcohol! I ordered the first frozen cocktail on the menu, the Prince of Bushwick, and it was like they forgot the rum. I got no buzz, and I am a very cheap date when it comes to alcohol. For 12 bucks, come on!
google avatar

Yelp
My band played Pine Box a few nights ago. The club was clean and the staff was friendly, but the real reason we dug this place was the sound setup. The engineer was very knowledgeable and did a great job of making us sound good without blowing out everyone's eardrums. I would have loved more of a built-in crowd for a Friday night, but eh, that's NYC.
google avatar

Lauren B.

Yelp
First time here and I dug it! Not too crowded on a Saturday night, which was perfect for the laid back scene I was looking for to catch up with some friends. There was plenty of room to sit on their rustic benches in the back corner, along the bar, and the tables to the side. The was some shananigan going on in the back for $5 but I was a little too cheap to check it out, but it did look cool! Drinks to check out: Grim Pickle $7 - a shot of whiskey with a chase of spicy or not spicy pickle juice. You'll be surprised at how refreshing and awkwardly delicious this combo is! Brewgarita $9- IPA with some tequila, lime, and sprite. It's a nice beverage if you're not a dark beer fan and in the mood for something tangy and sour. Bartender is great, had the guy with the western hat. And card minimum is only $10! P.S. Ask the bartender for some matches. They got a wicked design for them!
google avatar

Monica T.

Yelp
My review is strictly for the karaoke since I'm not a drinker. I love that they have a back room with a stage so if you want to feel like a rock star, this is the place for that. The karaoke here is on the last Saturday of the month so it's not frequent but starts at 11 p.m. so you have plenty of time to get here. The Kings of Karaoke, who does the show here, has a great book. There were also some decent singers here though the room was FREEZING. I would have also liked a better place to put my long coat but it wasn't bad. I'd come back for karaoke since this place is also spacious & not too crowded to get around in. There's also more privacy in the back room so you can actually hear people & not get distracted by folks at the bar.

Marlaine E.

Yelp
My go-to quick stop for great draft beer and dressed-up bloodies. Pine Box boasts an extensive, well-crafted (no pun intended) beer list and several bloody mary options. Last time I was in, I came during happy hour and was excited to see a "dressed-down" bloody mary for $7. Side note: not sure how 2 pickled okras, celery, and olives are "dressed down" but I was pleasantly surprised. When it's less crowded, the bartenders are fun to talk to and love baseball if you're into that.

Yelp
The best thing about this bar is the ROA mural on the outside. Everything else just kinda makes me want to take a nap. I had such high hopes when I visited having never been to a true VEGAN BAR before. It was nice that you didn't have to wonder, or ask about any of the drinks having products I can't consume - but the tough part was getting the bartender's attention. I decided to try the famed vegan empanadas. HARD AS ROCKS. To think a vegan bar made out of casket wood - this place should be awesome... I just came up way short.

Yelp
DOG Friendly....my girlfriends Dog Casey (Mr C) loves coming here...the bartenders and bouncers are very kool and friendly....bathroom Art is sexy.... my only complaint is that I wish they would have some good English, German, Belgian or Irish beer on tap, like Harp, Double Diamond, Boddingtons, Paulaner, Duvel, Chimay, what is with this whole American micro brew craze? I LOVE Beer, have been drinking it for about 30+ years and I must conclude that the best beers come from Europe...that is my only Beef with this place and thus only 4 stars...at least they have Heineken in a can, and it's usually very cold, which is great. They have some kool events here like the debate viewings and new Years Eve was also awesome...I don't like karaoke but it happens in the back room so you don't have to experience it if you don't want... Once again, very Dog friendly, they even have biscuits for your doggy, this is Mr. C's favorite bar, he is so happy when we take him out with us so he doesn't have to wait at home while we carouse, he loves the attention he gets as well...he wags his tail when we say "lets go to the Pine Box!" One last thing...Big Buck hunter? In a Vegan bar? Take it out, put in a........ Pinball Machine!

Yelp
I'm here for the vegan shop up - the place looks great, the food is good and it's a great Saturday hangout place! Come on over to enjoy high quality vegan food !

Kedar D.

Yelp
This is a large, chill bar with a limited food menu consisting of three types of vegan empanadas. If you want a good drink, a board game and maybe some difficult trivia, then Pine Box is a gem. The drinks are great (they even have vegan white russians!) and not terribly priced ($5 for a mixed drink); they also have a goodly variety of bottled and draft beers. On a whole, this is a cool bar. If they had more food options (how about nachos and chili cheese fries?) it would be even better and more on-par with the other vegan bars in the country like Bye and Bye in Portland and Highline in Seattle.

Yelp
i used to love this place but WE ARE NEVER COMING BACK TO THIS BAR AGAIN. i understand that during the vegan shop up it is busy but when you serve every other customer but us that is just plain rude! we waited over half and hour for drinks. instead of serving us you guys made everyone else drinks, changed the tv station, took a smoke break and blatantly ignored us. at one point one bartender took away the empty glasses in front of us- long left over from other customers- and i waved and asked if we could please order drinks. obviously the answer was NO because my question was ignored. at another point my husband standing up on the edge of his stool to get your attention was told "we see you, don't stand on the stool". i am not sure why you refused to serve us but you LOST CUSTOMERS TODAY. i have never been treated this way in a bar before. so unprofessional, just plain shitty. Update: friends who took our seats at the bar said they had no trouble getting drinks. proving that the bartenders were ignoring us on purpose. pine box you are the worst.

Yelp
I don't drink so I can't comment about the plentiful vegan drinks, but I can, however, comment about the food. :) I also know Pine Box does a lot of trivia nights and fun sort of events, which is always welcome. I went to Pine Box recently for their final vegan waffle brunch of the season; they say they may start it up again next spring. I went with the berry waffles, which were good and pretty reasonable. I'd say the taste was average and they were served on a paper plate, but it's a bar, for goodness sakes, so I'm happy with that. :) My friends and I also shared some vegan empanadas which are made by V Spot in Park Slope. My favorite was the jerk seitan, which was nice and spicy. The sauce it came with was also really good and came in a huge plastic cup. I tried my friend's Philly Cheesesteak empanada, which would have been amazing if either 1) it didn't have mushrooms, or 2) I didn't hate mushrooms. The flavor and texture was right on, so if you're not opposed to fungus, I'd recommend that one. Again, I don't drink so I don't care all that much that there's a vegan bar in my neighborhood (aside from obviously beinig happy that there's no meat/dairy on the menu), but in the event that I'm roped into "going for drinks", I'm happy to have a vegan establishment to suggest. :)

Yelp
I love this place. It is the place I HAVE TO return to every time in back in the old neighborhood. I love the beer selection, the staff, the set up of the place, and, most of all, the smell! The cedar wood smell just gets me every time and reminds me of younger years spent in this great place. Would highly recommend!

Yelp
Super spacious with high ceilings. They a small venue in the back where they hold shows or karaoke nights. Our bartender was super friendly and gave us a round of shots before we left. They serve food as well, and they have vegan options. My cousin got an empanada, which turned out to be pretty small. I expected it to be much bigger since it was on the pricey side. I suggest eating before hand. It'll add up once you get drunker and hungrier. P.S. There's a coat rack at the front where you can just hang your coats at no charge. Definitely coming back!
