"The brewery/pizzeria mini-chain has become a mainstay of both family dinners and beer nerds by offering a convivial, communal atmosphere paired with a comfort food menu of pizza, nachos, soft pretzels, and (critically) award-winning beers. The multi-location brewery is best known for the ubiquitous Electric Jellyfish IPA, a hazy New England-style beer that’s served everywhere in Austin. A wide assortment of other stellar IPAs come and go seasonally from the tap wall, and the Magical Pils and Bearded Seal stout are similarly best in class." - Erin Russell
"Pinthouse Pizza is home to one of our favorite beers in all of Austin. More importantly, it’s also where you’ll find some of the best pizza in town. Stylistically, it’s somewhere between a New York pie and a Neapolitan, but they just call it “hand-crafted.” They don’t offer slices, but they do make personal 10” pies, and they’re especially good topped with pepperoni and fresh basil. They have a few locations across town—the original on Burnet Road, one near Sunset Valley, and another in Round Rock—plus a spin-off called Pinthouse Brewing serving a different menu (and Sicilian-style pies that we also like, but not quite as much)." - nicolai mccrary, raphael brion
"In addition to offering up some pretty great pizza, Pinthouse operates as a brewery, now with four locations around Austin. The spots are all pretty similar, but if you want to see where it all started, head to the original on Burnet Road. They brew a variety of styles, but are probably best known for the Electric Jellyfish—a hazy, NEIPA that’s become a staple at bars all across the city. We’re waiting for the day they decide to brew a pizza-flavored beer, but until then we’ll just have to settle for creating our own carb-on-carb pairings." - nicolai mccrary
