The Best Dishes Eater Editors Ate This Week, November 2021 - Eater NY

"Pinto Garden offers a Thai-style omelet called crab kai jaew, priced at $26. The dish features a crispy, golden omelet filled with crab and a hidden mound of jasmine rice, enhanced by drizzling sriracha on top. The omelet combines flavors of sweet crab and rich eggs, making it suitable for any meal." - Eater Staff

Really cute place with really pretty drinks and great food. It is quite small but there is a back garden space as well. Super friendly bar tender makes really pretty and delicious drinks. Tequila Bloom is a must. Fresh rolls were nice and fresh with a kick, papaya salad was flavorful, pork belly basil over rice was delicious, and the green curry was really really good and actually quite spicy which I loved! Mango sticky rice was yummy too. The service was good overall but had to wait quite a while to get the dessert. Would like to go back and try other drinks and dishes.

4/5 Lychee Bellini 4.7/5 Pork Skewers -- must order! This one was surprisingly tasty. The marinade was great, even without the dipping sauce! 4.2/5 Fried Chicken, Papaya Salad,Sticky rice 4/5 Pad Thai - solid flavor, noodles itself were not as expected and overcooked. 3.8/5 Khao Soi -- very tangy, not quite the depth of flavor I expected. Also chicken was subbed for the short rib which they were out, but price was not altered, which I found a bit unfair. Soothr's chicken khao soi would still be my top pick in NYC. 4/5 Crab Omelette -- quite generous portion of crab, could use some more seasoning, a bit on the salty side. 2.5/5 Wagyu Burger -- the patty was unseasoned and quite dry, would not order this again. We had a reservation for brunch on a sunday, it was quite busy and service was on the slower side.

Came here for my mom’s birthday, loved the ambience here, the dim lighting and floral walls. Very aesthetic. It is a bit of a small space but is not too congested. But the main point of this review id like to highlight is that the food definitely matches up with the aesthetic. There are restaurants that look pretty but their food is lacking. This is not the case here! Everything was so so flavorful, we ended up ordering more than we expected because it was so good. They also have great mocktail options for those who don’t drink which I really appreciated!

This is a fantastic Thai option in Greenwich Village. We tried lots of dishes and all of them had wonderfully balanced flavors. Wagyu garlic rice was fantastic. The outdoor space in the back is super cozy. The staff is wonderful

Escape to a secret floral paradise in West Village! 🌺✨ Pinto Garden not only is the food here amazing (I’m obsessed with the short rib khao soi! ), but the hidden garden is an Instagrammer’s dream. 📸🌸💐 The staff here make every visit special. Google
Food is incredible and so flavorful. It seems they change the brunch menu frequently but I’ve never had a mediocre dish here… ever! May be a NYC Top 5 Brunch spot for sure and all the dishes are instagrammable. You have to get the Sangria here it’s so cute and tasty. The crab omelette over rice, chicken & waffles, and Thai Tea a French toast = all equally amazing.

I had been craving Thai food for over a week, and I finally decided to go to Pinot Garden to satisfy my desire. I was pleased to discover that they had a wide variety of options for pescatarian diners. The crispy veggie rolls I ordered were absolutely fantastic! While the initial taste of the pad thai was a bit odd, mixing in peanuts and lime made it interesting, but not quite to my liking. The atmosphere was enjoyable, and I had a great time.

Yelp
I'm so sad to hear that Pinto Garden has closed. It was such a beautifully decorated spot, adorned with vibrant flowers that created a magical atmosphere. Their cocktails were incredible, always crafted to perfection. I'll never forget their crab fried rice served in a coconut--it was pure heaven, with creamy eggs that added the perfect touch. The khao soi short rib was unbelievably tender, paired with crispy noodles for the ultimate texture. And my all-time favorite, KA-PAO GAI KAI DAO, had the perfect balance of flavors with just the right amount of heat. Such a loss! :(

Yelp
Really wanted to like this place since I'd had it bookmarked for quite some time. Cute interior and backyard patio, but the food was bad. My green curry was super watered down, and the ingredients were clearly not fresh. The rice noodles were all stuck together and semi-hard. Can't recommend...

Yelp
Small and tasty Thai restaurant in the west village. This restaurant has a beautiful back area decorated with lots of flowers to give a spring/summer vibe. I was suprised that the Thai milk tea came un-assembled, giving you the opportunity to fine tune it to your liking. The service was fast and the price is very affordable. Nice staff as well

Yelp
Great little spot for brunch! All dishes are Thai inspired. Service is pretty good they try to keep all the drinks full if you're doing bottomless which is appreciated. Go for the Thai baked eggs!

Yelp
This is a very beautiful quaint Thai restaurant. A very intimate location with nice decor. The service was on point and the food was amazing. I must say that my old fashion was made to perfection. I highly recommend this place. Everyone enjoyed their meal, 10/10. I tried the Crab fried rice and it was delicious. I had: : Ground chicken sautéed with garlic, Thai chili and basil served with jasmine rice. :Old fashioned

Yelp
The front of this restaurant is quite small. The decor feels like the living room of an eclectic friend. The back patio is gorgeous. It's fully enclosed and strewn with white and pink roses, accent lights, and chandeliers. The plants are fake, but still lovely. Definitely photo-worthy. To start, we shared the crispy spring rolls. An order came with six, which was a good portion size. These were standard, nothing special, but I appreciated the freshly chopped peanuts in the accompanying sauce. For my main, I got the vegetarian garlic rice. It was served in a sizzling hot stone pot which cooked and crisped the rice while I ate. The bottom portion of rice got quite crunchy. The flavors were subtle. I asked for hot sauce and they provided one that was sweet, not very spicy, but quite tasty. The egg, which was mixed into the dish at the table, offered nice texture as well. To drink, I had the lychee bellini. It came with a blackberry and fresh lychee on a skewer, which I enjoyed. The drink itself was sweet and fruity, but not very strong. My friend got the I Like Me Better cocktail and said it was also not strong. Service was relatively fast. The tables along the sides of the back patio were quite close together so it's not a place for a private conversation. But overall, we enjoyed it.

Yelp
Beautiful place! Main seating is at the back of the restaurant where the vibe is amazing. We ordered the papaya salad, wagyu, and pork belly. My sister also ordered the rose sangria popsicle and she loved it. Our favorite was the papaya salad. My sister loved the pork belly and her sangria. We both thought the wagyu beef was way too spicy and dry. There wasn't too long of a wait for food and the service was decent as well.

Yelp
Came in on a Saturday evening with a reservation for a large group of 18 people to celebrate a friend's birthday. We were seated in the back where it was beautifully decorated with many pink, red roses on the walls - it's a very pretty instagrammable place. Our tables were split up into two long tables - taking up 2/3 of the back) We were served in a family-style pre-fixe menu (it was mostly pork/chicken but there is accommodation for vegetarians.) The servings were generous; split between 4-5 ppl; my favorite was definitely the moo kem tod (which is fried salted pork - very yummy). The service was above and beyond, always making sure we were satisfied with the food and the water was consistently refilled. Highly recommend for large groups. The pre fixe menu is great for omnivores like me but I wouldn't recommend it for vegetarian friends.

Yelp
Nice ambiance, good service, okay food. I liked it there I just thought the food wasn't super flavorful. We tried the shrimp/chicken donut because that sounded so cool and different but there wasn't much taste, it yet had the texture of shrimp. I shared the wagyu garlic rice with my friend and it was good but again didn't have too much taste. It was a little dry but I think the best part was leaving it in the hot bowl for a while to let the rice get crispier.

Yelp
This is a lovely little classic NY vibe. Cozy, dimly lit space with a lot of character. Drinks were only ok, probably somewhere where I'd order wine next time. Not that busy on a Tuesday night, so we were about to get a table same day which is really great. Staff were very pleasant and checked in on us throughout the night. The food is really solid. We only tried a few things but I would definitely be back for more. Papaya salad was good and surprisingly quite spicy. We really liked it! Pumpkin curry was excellent and the perfect cozy comfort food. Wagyu beef garlic rice was delicious. It comes with beef that's pretty rare and then it cooks in front of you in the hot pot. I would have liked a little more heat or the option for more heat, like maybe a chile sauce or something, but it was really good. Fair prices as well. Portions are generous and definitely shareable. I recommend, and will be back!

Yelp
Sad I didn't take any photos of the ambience, it was super cute in the back garden! The staff was very nice and attentive, and the food was decent. I would return! It does get a bit hot since they don't have air conditioning, they have fans though.

Yelp
Came here for the lunch special $19 with app and main. Got the tofu satay and their take on the entree shrimp scampi was so delicious, packed with flavor! I enjoyed the Thai iced tea and really liked their beautiful decor, ate in the back patio with AC! Service was very friendly and attentive , enjoyed the experience very much!

Yelp
Cute and super IG Thai restaurant in the heart of West Village, I came here a couple weekends ago for a friend's birthday where she'd booked a prix-fixe brunch for 20 people with unlimited drinks (choice of mimosa, lychee Bellini, coffee and tea) for 1.5 hours. They sat us in the back seating area with a garden room vibe--faux flowers and greenery were strung along every wall, creating a lush, dense countryside feel, like you were transported into a cottage greenhouse. The theme of rabbits flowed from the brass door knocker outside to the memorabilia adorning the walls, to the napkin holder on the bar and wallpaper in the bathroom. Super adorable for those of you who like bunnies. The seating was cozy considering the number of seats they fit into the back area and the length of the tables, though to their credit the chairs themselves were pretty roomy. It took a bit of time for the staff to come take drink orders, considering it was peak brunch hour. For the unlimited beverage option they serve premade bellinis poured from a pitcher, they don't quite look as nice but it tasted good, if not just slightly less bubbly than a made-to-order drink. It was nice to have coffee or tea too. Food-wise--what a selection of tantalizing brunch plates! I was torn between the chicken & croffle, shrimp avocado toast, roti with banana and coconut palm sugar, crab kai jaew, and Thai tea toast. I went with the crab kai jaew which was an omelette wrapped around a lump crab meat served over jasmine rice with a side of sweet chili sauce. The prep wasn't very exciting l(iterally exactly what I just described,) though worth mentioning there was a fair amount of crab. My table mates mostly ordered the pad thai and thought it just ok, I tried a bite and agreed it didn't particularly stand out in the sea of pad Thai options available in the city. If I come back I'd like to try the roti with banana and coconut palm sugar-that's not something you'll normally find at most restaurants. It was nice that service didn't feel rushed, we stayed there for about 2.5 hours. Most of the water was already in pitchers/jugs on the table so we helped ourselves, the restaurant was very busy during the entire time so the wait staff felt a bit stretched, though food came out about 15-20 minutes after we ordered which seemed on target given our party size.
google avatar

Lan T.

Yelp
We had reservation which helped with the wait. The place is beautiful!!!! The food is decent but the service was extremely slow. An hour after being seated we still did not have our food. In fact, it took a while for someone to get our order in. Also they did not pay enough attention. For example, they brought us a big bottle of water without glasses. Took a while after we asked for it for them to bring out. No plate nor bowl

Yelp
We made a reservation for a Friday night and was seated immediately by welcoming hosts and servers. We sat in the back patio area, with beautiful flowers and fairy lights, it was picture perfect! They do remind you that for two people, we only had the table for 1.5 hours. We started off with some drinks. I tried the Lychee Bellini and I Like Me Better. Both were fruity drinks and were very creative. For food, we ordered: 1. Papaya salad - extremely refreshing and just what we needed to balance off the heavy entree courses. However, for the price, the portion is a little small. 2. Kao Soi Short Rib - a big short rib laying on a bed of egg noodles with this amazing curry sauce. They also added fried noodles shallots, onions and celery to add more texture. It was a dream bite when you get a little of everything. 3. Shrimp Fried Rice - the shrimps were overcooked, however, the flavor and texture of the rice was great. I couldn't stop munching on it. For two people, we were extremely full. The meal was a little pricey for the portions, though. But it's not going to stop me from coming back and trying the other items.

Yelp
Relaxing place for a lunch date. There are some tables in the front and an indoor garden in the back. The food was delicious and our server Lily was nice and helpful when advising on what to order. They had 2 courses for $19 as a lunch special. Jay was sweet and sang happy birthday to a guest in our party. We felt right at home and would definitely visit again.

Yelp
A beautiful restaurant that was recommended by friend to celebrate our dear friends birthday. We indulged in the prie-fixe option which was more than filling for our group of 12. The decor of the floral arrangements inside were so beautiful! It was aesthetic for wonderful photo ops for our friends special day. The food itself was so flavorful. We got an assortment of the apps as well as the main dishes which was incredible. It felt like very authentic in the sense of how deep and intricate the flavors were while having a slight twist to the traditional Thai food. I highly recommend to give this place a shot! But do recommend one to make reservations as many others do cherish this hole in the wall.

Yelp
Came here with a group of friends on a recommendation. We were seated in the back patio, where they really decked it out with florals, very Instagramable. This is for sure more suited for a girls brunch or a date, not for a group of guys to catch up on life, but here we are. I mainly was interested in trying out their brunch menu as they combine Thai cuisine with brunch. For drinks, I got a smokey old fashioned which they named Smoke In Your Eyes ($17). Very pretty presentation when they bring it out and it tastes great. I ordered the Roti with Banana and Coconut Palm Sugar ($20). Instead of pancakes, it is substituted with roti and they put caramelized coconut palm sugar, banana, seasonal fruit ,and coconut flakes on top. Overall it's pretty good. Very sugary if I may add with all of the syrup and sugar. Service was generally okay. It was a struggle to get someone's attention to place our food order when we were ready, which took a good 15 minutes. We were sure to get the check immediately when they came to check up on us when we finished our meals. Could be a better spot if the service was more attentive, but overall, I generally enjoyed my experience here.
google avatar

Bellody C.

Yelp
Highly recommend going on the weekend for their brunch items. I got the pancake roti. The coconut drizzle was perfect on the fruits. The flakiness of the pancake was just right. Id say it's even better than regular cakey pancakes. It was just right texture. The pad thai sunrise was also good. I noticed they put red cabbage and eggs to make it different. The taste is subtly different from norm- I do like the egg l because it gives the yolk flavor to the noodles. The cabbage however makes it more sour so it was 8/10. Id definitely come back for the pancakes again and to try the truffle fried rice. Their menu options are so nice as is the aesthetic of the place. The backyard is air conditioned so enjoy!

Yelp
Sunday brunch before strolling around the West Village. They sat us in the garden area, which was beautiful but should be a bit warmer for Jan. The two of us split the basil chicken rice, pad thai and the bacon. It was delicious! Perfect meal for two to split for Sunday brunch. They have classic brunch options but we were more interested in more of noodles and rice. Definitely will be back for a more classic brunch route. I also got the picture perfect rose sangaria popsicle. It was delightful! I can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Madison D.

Yelp
Very lovely experience here for dinner while visiting NYC. Came on a Sunday night at 7pm with 5 people without a reservation and was able to get seated right away on their beautiful, floral, cute "outdoor" patio. It's actually all enclosed. The food was excellent. The appetizer portions were large, the main portions were fair, and everything we ordered was fantastic. We shared 3 apps and 2 mains between 5 girls and were left plenty full. The ROTI MATABA was my personal favorite - deliciously flavored chicken on top of a flaky pastry. $38 for the short rib felt pretty pricey, though. Knocking off a star because although they weren't super busy, they didn't seem to ever check in on our table. We put in our appetizers first, and had to flag them down once we waited for awhile after finished them to put in our mains. We also constantly had to ask for our waters to be refilled despite putting the empties on the edge of the table to indicate a refill. Servers were all sweet and friendly, just not as attentive as they could've been. Overall would definitely recommend this place for tasty, fresh Thai food in west village!

Yelp
Overall, the food is nice, nothing particularly great or bad. We had the pride menu, picked some American/Thai fusion dishes instead of Thai (like pad Thai) as we were worried it will not taste good/authentic. ~ Truffle Fries (4/5) ~ Surprisingly good! The skinny fries is fried to perfect crispy golden yellow, and doesn't taste greasy. Whilst looking so pain and ordinary, before eating you can already smell the truffle, and it did had a strong truffle taste when biting into it! $8 is very reasonable too. Recommend! ~ Chicken & Croffle (3/5) ~ You get 1 thigh, 1 breast and 3 pieces of Croffle for $24. Skin is fried to crispy, and the meat is quite tender & juicy. The Croffle is pretty good. It's buttery and flaky, crispy outside, soft inside. The sauce however is meh. It says coconut syrup but you can't taste any coconut, and the syrup is way too runny (see video). It's an ordinary fried chicken & croffle, barely any Thai elements there. It tasted nice, but then there are a lot of similar options in NYC that can do just as good and a lot cheaper. ~ Spicy Fired Chicken Salad (3.5/5) ~ It's the same fried chicken, expect it comes with a salad and spicy lime vinaigrette w/ lemongrass, shallot, mint. The vinaigrette actually tasted like a Thai sauce. It's citrusy and spicy, a refreshing complement to the fried chicken. Will I be back? Maybe not The food is not bad, in fact they tasted nice. But there is nothing special to leave me wanting more, nor would I recommend friends to come for the food. It has a nice area out back with decorative (or real?) flowers, so it may be for you if you simply want a place to eat and hang out with friends without any expectations.

Yelp
Charming, delightful and delicious! Looking forward to returning. Enjoyed the view out the window of the vibrancy passing by.

Yelp
A nice place for brunch. There were a mix of Thai dishes and classic brunch foods on the menu. We tried the pad thai, crab omelette with rice, and the iced tea. We liked both dishes! The tea also came with tea cubes so the ice doesn't water it down. The restaurant was much bigger than it looks with an enclosed patio in the back, decorated with flowers.

Yelp
1/1 Ambience; 1/2 Food + Beverages; 1/1 Service; 1/1 Value The ambience is delightfully charming with the extensive silk flowers on the facade for outdoor dining as well as inside the covered indoor all-year around garden. The brunch atmosphere was fun and lively, and every seat was occupied within minutes of opening service. My friend and I had the lychee soda, Thai iced tea, truffle fries, shrimp avocado toast, and the pumpkin curry. The beverages were both phenomenal!! The lychee soda is sweet, fruity and refreshing while the Thai iced tea is a generous portion with a great presentation that allows you to adjust sweetness to personal taste. The shoestring truffle fries are lightly dusted with truffle salt and it's a really large serving. The pumpkin curry is was overall fresh and tasty, but we both felt like it could have used some more spice and salt. I wanted to try the avocado toast because of the novelty of trying a shrimp cake on one, but I was pretty underwhelmed by the actual shrimp cake. It tasted frozen and rather bland without much seasoning. Service was quick and all of the servers were very friendly, efficient and attentive. As reviewers have pointed out, there is a 90 minute seating window for customers, but the staff lets you know this in advance. We did not feel rushed and the servers were very courteous about this, offering to just reseat us as we munched on the last of our fries. It's really busy, so I ca see why this rule exists. Overall, Pinto Garden was a charming experience in a cozy garden with decent food, great beverages, and very good service. The food has some setbacks, but still a good value given the portion sizes in the heart of the West Village. Note: for vegetarian and vegan friends, ask if the dish is made with fish sauce! Our waitress was really knowledgeable and pointed out to my friend that even if she opted for tofu in the pad Thai, it still has fish sauce.

Yelp
Authentic Thai cuisine in Culpepper, Virginia. Convenient parking. Staff is friendly and helpful. Seating and taking order comedy fashion. Food has unique favor.

Yelp
My friend and I had brunch at this lovely spot in the West Village. There was a backyard area with beautiful decor of hot pink and pale pink roses, as well as green leaves all around. We shared the truffle fries, which were only $8 and there was a generous portion. They were skinny fries, delightfully crisp, with strong potato-y and truffle taste. Truly addicting! I ordered the American Fried Rice, which was served with fried chicken, sunny side egg (which I requested to be cooked completely), as well as bacon. The fried rice was made with ketchup and raisins. The rice was cooked perfectly and tasted wonderfully flavorful. Normally I'm not a big fan of ketchup and raisins, but the ingredients paired well together. The fried chicken was absolutely delicious and well seasoned, with satisfyingly crisp skin, along with tender, juicy meat. The egg was also really good and the bacon had a nice crunch. I also got to try my friend's Thai Style Omelette with Crab Meat, over jasmine rice. The crab meat was quite yummy, flaky, and bursting with flavor. However, the rice underneath was really bland. Service was solid. Prices are pretty reasonable considering the area it is located in. I enjoyed my meal and would like to return for dinner to try the Waygu Truffle Garlic Fried Rice.
google avatar

Yvonne T.

Yelp
My group had a seat in the back which was decorated quite beautifully with roses and flowers. The lights were also dim which made the atmosphere nice for dinner. For drinks, I ordered a Lychee bellini which was on the strong side of the alcohol. On the other hand, my friends ordered the strawberry mojito which was so good that I had to get one for myself. It was not strong at all and on the sweeter side with pieces of strawberries inside. In terms of the food, the bah mee moo krob was not my style honestly. The peanut butter flavor and pork belly is meh. Wagyu garlic rice was also not that good with little flavor of the wagyu. The branzino was so spicy and it burned around my mouth, but the fish itself was soft. Lastly, the crab fried rice was the star of the show, amazing, and top tier. One of the best crab fried rice in NYC with the crab and seasoning all incorporated into one dish. While I was not the biggest fan of the other dishes, I would come back just for the crab fried rice.

Yelp
I came here for dinner on a Wednesday during restaurant week. It's a bit pricey for thai food, in my opinion. The food was good but nothing spectacular. The ambiance is really pretty and cute, as is their drinks.

Yelp
I came for weekend brunch with a large party. The indoor space is on the smaller side but they have a back patio as well. I highly recommend making a reservation due to the size of the space. My party was sat a large table in the back patio. The patio and indoors are decorated beautifully with lots of flowers everywhere. The table got the crab omelet over rice, fried chicken and croffles, and Thai tea French toast. The crab omelet is delicious, very simple and homey. But for how simple it is, I did find it a little pricey especially since it didn't come with any sides, like vegetables or salad. The fried chicken was crispy and not too oily which I loved. It was also de-boned already, which was a nice bonus. The croffles are fine, not amazing but not bad at all. The Thai tea French toast was a bit on the sweet side for me, so it's definitely better for someone with a sweet tooth. Service was good and attentive. Overall I enjoyed this place for a nice brunch. If I come back, I'd want to try their dinner dishes.

Yelp
Absolutely love the look of this place. This is an authentic Thai menu for sure. The food was very good and the portions are fairly good too! Papaya was on a spicy side for our taste buds but it was so good we just had to eat it! The service was good and drinks were very pretty and tasty. It is a small but intimate and cozy restaurant for sure . Definitely will come back again soon

Yelp
Ambiance: It was fairly nice, fake flowers in the garden area but pretty nonetheless. There were some flies but it wasn't overwhelming. The tabels were so close together that it was difficult to hear the other person across from me. Excessively loud and lack of personal space between tables. I give it a B. Food: The food looked beautiful, keyword, LOOKED. The flavor profile was not too bad and not too good. I got the Thai style pancakes which was pretty oily. The drinks were an A+ and lovely to look at. I wouldn't come here again though to try out other things on the menu. Service: The staff was very pleasant and attentive, no complaints there. Just wish the food upheld to that standard. Overly priced for mediocre food. P.S: Grade is pending, for a good reason I assume.

Yelp
Bottomless was filled upp never empty glass so love the staffs here. smol cute cozy spot w a backyard garden vibe and i loved the pad thai here . Their crab meat egg with white rice was homey and very nice. Bathroom is single but its got lots of room and table full of supplies

Yelp
The place is not bad. I got a glass of rose sangria and it was beautiful (but not very strong). I also got crab fried rice and Thai tea tiramisu. Both were solid. Service was decent too. The restaurant decors are very pretty.

Yelp
The ambiance here is immaculate. The front has beautiful decor. It feels like an English cottage or tea room. Then you go to the back and it's lovely! They have vines and flowers all over the walls and ceilings. It's quite magical and an amazing vibe. The staff is super friendly too! Pad Thai: 8.5/10 This isn't my favorite pad Thai, but it was good. They add red cabbage and slices of apple, which I find untraditional but not distasteful. I thought the noodles were a bit thin and got stuck together. The sauce was very good though and the chicken and egg were very tasty after soaking it up. Thai tea: 10/10 They deconstruct the Thai tea, and I LOVED it! Great idea. I love that I could choose how much milk, tea, and sugar syrup to include. The tea is also made into ice cubes so you don't feel like your tea is getting watered down or is a rip off. I had plenty of tea for at least 1.5 of the glasses shown. Highly recommend! Truffle dumpling: 8/10 The truffle dumplings were nice and crispy with plenty of filling. You could definitely taste the truffle. I wish the sauce wasn't so thick. I prefer my dumplings with a thinner sauce that can get inside and make the filling more juicy. Because the sauce was thicker it made the dumpling taste heavier and more dry. Chicken wings: 8/10 The chicken wings were very small but there were a lot. I liked the flavor of the sauce. It was a nice spice level. I thought the chicken was juicy but the wings being so small were pretty soggy and not that crispy. Especially once the sauce got into them. Pumpkin curry: 8.5/10 I really enjoyed the flavor of the pumpkin curry. It had some interesting vegetables: colorful cauliflower, bok choy, mushrooms, and pumpkin. The pumpkin wasn't cooked enough and was hard and tough instead of melting in my mouth. Overall I like the curry part but not so much the contents. Pinto Garden is a lovely place to get a drink and have a nice casual meal of Thai food. The Thai food isn't authentic and isn't ground breaking but it's good. I would come back for the vibe and a Thai iced tea!

Yelp
Definitely a great place for tasty, fun, and cost effective food. We tried their Shishito peppers - rightly salted and crispy skin. Pad Thai with shrimp - flavorful sauce, tender noodles, and yummy shrimp. My favorite is the Wagyu truffle garlic rice - our server helped to mix everything together, the Wagyu beef tasted like burger, rich in flavor and texture. We also ordered Thai ice tea and Lychee soda - Thai ice tea is fun to mix, they give you a bottle of huge ice cubes, tea, milk, and syrup (?); lychee soda also looks belle, decorated with blackberry and lemon, taste was a little on the bland side. Love the beautiful flowers around the place, dreamy and romantic. Service was quick, the only thing I wish they can improve is they can be more flexible in terms of dining time. We were told that a table of two cannot be seated for longer than 90 minutes, we were a few minutes late for our reservation but apparently they started counting from the reservation time. Our overall time with our food is probably an hour or so. We were asked to leave even though we still hadn't finished our food and drinks....

Yelp
Delicious foods, excellent service & garden decor. I regret not knowing about this place earlier! I came here with my good friend for brunch today. We ordered: 1) salmon & eggs that came with salad & fries, 2) pad thai sunrise (pad thai with 1 sunny side egg). Both the dishes were very delicious! The salmon was well seasoned and not overcooked, eggs were delicious, loved the salad dressing on the salad (tasted like some light lime sauce concoction), and superb fries! The pad thai sunririse was very delicious too! The chicken was tender and well seasoned, the pad thai noodles were soft and well flavored. Portions were abundant which was good! I came in hungry and left very content. The staff were all super friendly and attentive. Love the garden decor! Highly recommended!

Yelp
10/10! Great food, and the lunch deal is a steal! We ordered the Fresh rolls, dumplings, pad Thai and the pork belly basil all of which were delicious. The garden portion at the back is so pretty with cute lights and lots of flowers. Even though it was hot outside the patio area was nice and cool. The server was really nice and advised us to what dish order. Service was also quick. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
Personal Rating: [3/5], Yelp Rating: [4/5] Food [3/5] Thai Tea French Toast [5/5] *Good flavor, not too sweet, interesting fusion take on classic brunch item Roti Pancakes [3/5] *Interesting dish, but oily and one dimensional after a while. Berries were not in season which isn't their fault but definitely did not help the dish. Thai Tea [5/5] *Deconstructed things are always fun, this one has more attention to detail than most so you're not just paying a premium to do things yourself Service [5/5] No complaints Ambiance [5/5] Make a reservation so you can get a seat in the back garden. Price [3/5] Pricey for what you get

Yelp
Overall rating: 4.2 Ehhh. For someone who has been to Bali & other Thai places in the city, this isn't it for me. Extremely overpriced for the quality. My friend had to ask for his drink 2x or so, and when it came out - it was still incorrect. From reading the reviews, maybe this is more of a brunch place than a dinner. Individual ratings for each: Shishito Peppers: 2/5 - we had to put on salt ourselves. Missing flaky salt typically in this dish. Moo Kem Tod 6/5 - this was my favorite dish!! It was so juicy and flavorful. Wagyu Garlic Rice 3/5 - it was neither here nor there. I had to ask for hot sauce to add some spice to it. Didn't hate it, didn't love it. Was underwhelming. Crab Fried Rice 4/5 - my friend had this & being from Baltimore, I thought the crab was surprisingly very good! However everything else was just okay. Again, nothing special. Yellow Curry 4/5 - my other friend had this and it was good as well. Definitely better than mine. But didn't think it was anything special. Personally I wouldn't recommend this to my friends, as I know some other Thai places that are better and half the price. But, if you are a brunch girlie and are there more for the IG photo ops place - then definitely try it out.

Yelp
I came to Pinto Garden for dinner today and I think I might have found the best Thai food in all of NYC. I ordered the kau kling gai and my mind was blown at the quality of the chicken. It genuinely might have been the best chicken I've ever had. It is a little spicy so I'd recommend asking for medium spice, but I've never tasted chicken with so much flavor before. I'm already craving it again! Im a big fan of the decor they set up in here. Makes it a great place for a cozy, classy meal.

Yelp
I traveled too far just to visit this place & I wasn't even given the chance to enjoy it fully! Felt like because of my ethnic background & looks I wasn't welcomed there! Highly disappointed! After requesting to take pictures on the back where all the decor is; they made me stand up outside near on the door & took 2 pictures! There were so many people came after me without reservations & they were allowed to seat inside but for me they just made me seat on a corner on very humid & hot place infront ! I had been to much much beautiful places who has better tasted food & variations on the menu ! People should do their google reviews very truthfully because it's important! Everyone doesn't have the luxury to spend a whole day traveling just to go to a place & have a horrible day! Now the food part, not many vegetarian options! Not many seafood either! And I do feel they have Racism issues ! They treat differently if you are not Asian ! Btw I am actually an Asian tooI guss me being a Muslim didn't help ! Such a disappointment! I did heard good reviews from friends! Wanted to have a nice day all by myself but it was pretty ruined! Maybe because I didn't spend too much money so I wasn't a valuable customer!

Yelp
The food was amazing. The only thing we had to send back was the yellow curry. It smelled terrible. That is the only reason why I am giving this four stars, but the service was amazing. They were so kind to let us stay a little bit longer because it was for my birthday the ambience, energy and decoration of the space was also amazing, they did as well for me and that was really cute. Definitely would recommend and go back.

Yelp
Tina's take: 7/10 Food was really good it is just a really small place. So it is not ideal for big parties. Service was ok felt alittle rushed. Would recommend for a date night

Yelp
Excellent food. Great selection and all very tasty. Pretty small and crowded, but the noise allowed for a conversation without shouting. I really enjoyed our meal thanks

Yelp
I had the bottomless brunch with a lychee bellini and a roti with banana and coconut palm sugar, and the bottomless drinks were strong! The roti was very sweet but had a great texture to it. It was small but it was filling and a bit overwhelming due to the sweetness. The crunch was the best part. The drinks were extremely strong and I felt it after three glasses, it is definitely worth for bottomless because you will leave from feeling it. It was a bit too strong in my opinion though. The place is extremely aesthetic with a bunch of flowers and recommend everyone try it because it gives off bottomless brunch vibes with the ladies
