We visited Piper for Mother’s Day brunch, and everything felt thoughtfully done ,from the ocean-view setup to the fresh, beautifully presented food. Highlights: oysters, shrimp, and an omelette station that really delivered. My cocktail was carefully crafted and absolutely hit the spot. I’m already planning to come back for the prime rib and white asparagus, they looked amazing. Great setting, great food, and perfect for a special occasion.

I'm so sad, since this place has so much potential! It mainly missed the ball in 2 ways: 1) The staff are so friendly, but service overall is slow and food is not even close to being worth what they charged. 2) They're connected to 2 WORLD CLASS resorts that provide an extraordinary experience. For this place to fall below expectations in such an epic way was extremely disappointing. The excellence of the people skills of the staff brought this review from a 1 star to 2. The biggest issue? We bought a $100 20oz ribeye. Coming from Vegas, that's a justified price for a delicious steak. That's why we ordered it. What we got was a steak that tasted like it was cooked the day before and then microwaved before serving to us. Even after the remake. I would rather take a $14 steak from Costco that my wife cooks herself. Also what was mind blowing was how slooooooow the service was. I understand if food takes a while to come out, but a wine and cocktail took 30 minutes. We stayed at Mission Pacific Beach Resort (which was amazing) and Chase gave us food credit, so we decided to use the credit on Piper... big miss-steak. We will definitely be back to the resort, but will be avoiding Piper!

Very very average breakfast. The avocado toast is way too thin and small, not $20 value. 6% surcharge on bill, no idea what it's for. Beautiful restaurant & service was efficient.

The line here is ridiculous. Make sure to get a reservation or you could be waiting forever. We saw plenty of parties come and leave due to not being able to get seated. We got the buffet and the options are great. Only issue is it’s quite pricey and probably not worth it. $52 for adults and $30 for kids. Basically $200 for a family of 4. Specialty coffees and drinks are not included. Water, milk, regular coffee and whatever infused water they have are part of it. The spread is decent, but once again nothing too fancy or crazy. You’d expect more for the price. There’s an omelette station, but the line can be a bit long. It’s one guy running two pans. He probably has to make a couple hundred omelette a morning shift! If you want other eggs you’ll have to ask your server and hey can request it from the kitchen. Some of the things that were disappointing: - Specialty coffees are not included for the price - Some of the items run out and you have to wait for it to replenish which takes a bit. French toast ran out and our kids just passed on it - They have one toaster for the whole buffet, so you’re left waiting or just trying to get it every time you go get food - Checkin process is a little messy. We came around 10:50 to checkin and was told to come back at 11:00 but they never checked us in - The omelette station is at the end next to a bunch of tables. This results in a long line forming and lots of people passing through the tables that are there. Also results in a line that blocks off the buffet line There aren’t exactly a lot of options for breakfast around the area so I can see why it gets busy. Next time probably won’t do the buffet. Just too expensive for what you get.

Food was decent but the host was not thay friendly at all. It took 30mins or longer just to get seated even though it wasnt busy at all. When we got seated, one of the tongues for Buffet had a hair on it too. I told one of the servers about it and no actions were taken for sometime

The servers were sweet but service was super slow And my chicken sandwich was really dry. My dad enjoyed his BLT. The AC was way too cold - it was freezing inside the restaurant. It took over 40 mins to get our lunch and we sat down at 12pm.

Google
We had the prosciutto appetizer as well as the focaccia bread, and salad with an apple vinegarette. Those dishes were fine but our main entree was not good at all. We got the short rib agnolotti, but it was way over salted and when I said this to the waitress, she just said it was very rich, which does not equate to super salty. Then the squid ink pasta with the crab had an overwhelmingly spicy sauce that overpowered the whole dish. This experience was not very good. But like I said, the other dishes that didn't involve much cooking were good.

My friend and I walked in to order a coffee and the restaurant was closed. The nice gentlemen, Benny said he would make us a coffee. He was so sweet and made a delicious iced latte for the two of us. Thank you Benny, Alyssa and Jenna for serving us today even when you weren’t taking orders. Bonus, he didn’t charge us a thing 🫶🏼

Yelp
Half Buy Out - BEST experience My husband and I first tried Piper a couple of years ago because menu online looked good, and all the pictures of the ambiance looked really great, plus it's on the coast. The food was so good, and we were so impressed. It was extremely high quality for the prices. We visited a couple of more times and just loved it. So when it came time to plan a big birthday dinner, Piper was my first choice. We did a half restaurant buy-out. I worked with Monika and Allison for a few months to plan my party, and they were so accommodating. I was able to meet Monika on property and she was able to answer every question and went ABOVE AND BEYOND ALL expectations. I also worked with Alyssa a few times who was always very kind. Nate, the manager, was the best. We had met him at a previous visit, and he was so helpful, consistently asking my friends who were setting up the flowers what he could do, how he could help, and checked on us throughout the night. They accommodated all of our needs, gave the best service, the food was incredible as always and all of my friends (we had about 40) could not stop RAVING about the food and how nice everyone was. I'm telling you, their yellowfin tuna appetizer is SO good, people were drinking the sauce out of the bowls. I ordered the chicken, which I never order chicken from restaurants, but my goodness was it good. So juicy with a delicious sauce and big portion! I didn't get all the servers names, but Andreas was great, and Debonee, who wasn't our server this past weekend, but was the other times we visited, is so knowledgeable and kind. The host, who has been working every time we're there and wears a seersucker suit jacket, has also given us top notch service. Overall, simply incredible. Such a gorgeous space, Chef Chris knocks it out of the park every season with his menu. Even their coffees are fabulous, with an INSANE. espresso machine setup. We're locals and of course will go again and again. But if you're looking for an event dinner, Piper is fantastic!

Yelp
ATTN: Wedding couples: (TLDR) This was by far the most stressful vendor we worked with with never returning calls or emails for weeks and unless you cc'd a superior. They tried to overcharge us by $1,000 for the wrong guest count list but didn't forget the updated raise in the bar tab (both were in the same email). They also gave us Tier 3 wine list ($175 a bottle) when we asked for Tier 1 ($75 a bottle). The buffet food was also horrible and the fish and pork were dry and did not match the quality of the restaurant in an individual experience at all. They also had no one at the door verifying our names and we had several people come in who were not guests as well as some who were even served drinks. EXPERIENCE: We started with a general inquiry. We spoke to three different employees who quoted us three different prices. Monika ended up taking the lead and was incredibly frustrating, unresponsive and unprofessional. We initially reached out in early 2025 for a rehearsal dinner on May 9, 2025. We had dined there and enjoyed the food. And there aren't really many other places with the location and ambience in the area. We began trying to book the restuarant. Weeks went by between responses. Contracts that were supposed to be sent were never sent and voicemails left unreturned. When an email response was finally returned and we noticed an error (and there were a lot of errors) communication stopped. The only way we could ever get a hold of Monika was if we cc:'d her boss. Prices changed every time we talked as did menus and seating charts and everything. Valet was at one point included then not included then included again. At one point we considered having 10 of our guests make reservations on OpenTable because five weeks before the wedding we still had no contract even though we were speaking for months. Finally after months (and only a few weeks before the wedding) we were told the restaurant was ours for the night. While we again waited for a contract we were surprised that we could still make reservations on the night of our buyout and when we called the restaurant the hostess said that night was available for reservations. We needed to call corporate and several other numbers. This apparently got back to Monika and she finally got us a contract. On the night of the event there was a host standing by the door but she did not ask anyone for our names to verify they were supposed to be there. People got in and ordered drinks who were strangers before I had to kick them out. The food was more than disappointing--dry fish and pork--and did not match the experience we had when dining earlier in the year. No better than an airport lounge. And completely overpriced for the quality. At the end of the night they tried to overcharge us. We had originally estimated 65 guests but sent and email stating only 55 were attending. I thankfully asked to see the receipt and that is when I noticed the 10 extra guests. They had no problem removing them right away but did take the incorrect recipe from me. We also said in the SAME EMAIL to increase the bar tab limit and that we wanted TIER 1 wine. The email was sent in time for changes according to the contract. The increased bar tab was remembered because a mere two hours into the event we had told we had reached our updated, higher amount. We were surprised and came to find out that we were serving TIER 3 wine all night. The difference was $175 per bottle instead of $75. The amount of stress was astonishing. Monika was the most unprofessional person we have ever encountered. The scheming and deceit and poor quality was unbelievable.

Yelp
Came for brunch on Sunday and opted for a la carte instead of the brunch buffet since we couldn't justify the $52/person price tag. Piper's a la carte menu is really small (5 items in total), and you can tell by the pricing that they try to steer you towards the buffet (ex: $24 avocado toast is one of the 5 items). We got the 2 eggs plate, which came with some house potatoes and choice of meat, for which we selected sausage. The sausage was really dense, salty, and small. Service was friendly for the most part. Location is great with water views, so if you're interested in a vibe-y brunch, Piper could be a good choice.

Yelp
Gorgeous restaurant close to the water and inside the hotel. We ordered the burger and fries (you need to order separately) and had the place almost to ourselves on a foggy Monday lunch! Service was great and parking pretty easy on the street (thought weekends can be tricky).

Yelp
5 stars for service. Had a very pleasant time with the staff here. Great teamwork and customer service. Food itself was decent. Nothing stood out as incredible or amazing. The squid ink pasta was interesting, had a mild spicy kick. Sea bass was a bit overcooked and tough but otherwise tasted fine. Focaccia with whole garlic cloves and butter was good, although I wish it was a little warmer or more toasted. Overall, a decent experience. May be worth a taste for guests staying at the hotel.

Yelp
I can't give enough praise for this amazing venue! We were there as a large party for our friend's birthday and Piper knocked out right out of the park. The staff and atmosphere at the Piper was just the very best. They were kind, excited for us, incredibly accommodating, so warm and did every little thing on their power to make our time special. From the moment we got there we were offered a once in a lifetime experience. I am so grateful that we were able to celebrate our beautiful friend in such an amazing place!

Yelp
Came here on a saturday around 10 am and sat at the bar. Took awhile to get seated. The restaurant was beautifully decorated. We got the breakfast buffet and everything was good but not that memorable. The miso soup was a little strange. The brisket was cold when i got it not sure why. The breakfast buffet was like $52 per person. Which is pretty high for the quality of the food. Service was amazing tho!

Yelp
I visited on a Thursday at noon for lunch. The lunch menu is very limited. There is one vegetarian option (hummus plate) and it seems more like an overpriced appetizer. The service was great and the interior is beautiful! The food was fine. Nothing extraordinary. There is an extra 6% surcharge added to every bill to cover the increase in minimum wage. I wish the restaurant would just raise their prices to cover their costs. It just seems sneaky of the restaurant to add an extra 6% surcharge with the final bill.

Yelp
This place was ok, but here are my problems with it: -Service was slow, and it was not busy. We ordered drinks and it was more than 10 minutes before we got them, which again, the place was empty at that time. This continued throughout the night. Overall we were there for 2 hours 20 minutes, which for a simple party of 4 felt too long for me. It wasn't because we were slow eaters, they were just inattentive at all points of the meal. -Nothing on the menu was calling to me. We ended up splitting the branzino for two, which was good, but I wish there was a carb (potato, rice, something!) with it. It was just fish and vegetables. Good for a low carb meal but it felt like it was missing something. -There was a 6% surcharge slipped onto the bill. I have been reading about restaurants doing this kind of stuff, and I find it unacceptable. Tell me up front and I think it would land a lot better, but I know these managers and owners know that most folks will not do the math and/or notice. This is BS! -We got a cookie to go. It was definitely a cookie out of one of those 20 packs you get at the Ralph's bakery. There is no way they made this cookie themselves. And it took forever (again), probably because they had to run out and buy a box from Ralph's. We will not be returning

Yelp
Food is amazing the wine bread, the cheese both dishes were fantastic. We had a little bit of everything and it was an unforgettable evening. Our waiter was very knowledgeable. It was his direction that created our beautiful evening. Ever so grateful after a horrible day he made our night Joseph Laied

Yelp
Whenever I'm in Oceanside visiting friends, a stop at Piper is a must. My friends and I love the inviting atmosphere, stunning views, and exceptional food and drinks. We've been here a couple of times, and it was their unforgettable squid ink pasta that brought us back for more--the flavors were bold, rich, and absolutely delicious. The staff provided excellent service, offering thoughtful recommendations that made our visit even better. On our second visit, we were disappointed to find the squid ink pasta no longer on the menu, but the dishes we tried instead were equally impressive. We shared the clam linguine, Nonna's bolognese, and the braised short ribs family-style among four people. Each dish was fantastic--the short ribs were incredibly tender, falling apart with just a fork, and the clam linguine was a seafood lover's dream. Portions were generous, making it perfect for sharing, and every bite was a delight. Piper is definitely a spot I'd recommend to anyone visiting Oceanside. I can't wait to return and explore more of their menu!

Yelp
Spent a beautiful day near by for mother's day and this place was the only one we can find a reservation. We got there at opening time and did not disappoint! The service was amazing! The food was delicious. We were definitely impressed! The ambience is super aesthetic. 10/10 recommend this place.

Yelp
We dined at Piper this past Friday night (4/25) after checking into the Seabird resort that afternoon. While the food was good, the service left much to be desired. We were a party of 5, sat at 8pm, and our server was Peter. We ordered a few appetizers and the food was dropped at our table without share plates or utensils. The food runner said he'd go and grab them, but 10 minutes later he hadn't returned, and Peter hadn't checked on us. We had to flag the food runner down after another several minutes had passed to remind him that we still needed share plates and utensils before he finally brought them and we could begin our meal. When we ordered entrees we re-iterated that one of our guests was vegetarian (made known when we had placed appetizer orders), and asked if it was possible for one of the pasta dishes to be made vegetarian by having the meat element on the side (so I could eat it). He said yes and that it wouldn't be a problem. When the entrees arrived the sauce on the pasta looked like it might not be vegetarian, so before my friend took a bite we again asked Peter if the pasta was made vegetarian. He said yes, the meat was on the side. We asked what kind of sauce was on the pasta, and he said there was no meat in it, just the juices from cooking the meat. So clearly he doesn't understand the concept, which is alarming for any restaurant, but more so for a pricier one where you would expect the staff to be more knowledgeable about dietary preferences and allergies. We explained that she couldn't eat that and she ordered another vegetarian appetizer instead. He didn't acknowledge his mistake, didn't apologize, and didn't offer to comp the dish she could no longer eat. After our entrees we asked for a dessert menu, but after 15 or so minutes he still hadn't come to take our dessert order despite the restaurant having pretty much cleared out by this point. Needless to say we skipped dessert. I tried calling the resort today to discuss this event (and another bad experience at The Shore Room) with a beverage and hospitality manager. The person I spoke with initially was very kind and took my info down to pass on to Monica and assured me I would receive a call today, but Monica never called.

Yelp
Where do I begin? The interior of the place has a clean look while also achieving a timeless experience. The dimness of the lights creates a romantic ambience and it brings an interesting color scheme to the restaurant. I tried Piper for dinner and the following day for breakfast; my compliments go towards both times. Dinner: - The "Hidden Temple" cocktail which was deliciously crafted, I did not want it to end. -The "Piper's Burger," which was probably the juiciest burger I have ever had. -The "Chateaubriand," which could be perfectly shared between 2-3 people. -The "Parker Rolls." I know it is not advised to order carbs in the beginning, nor is bread the healthiest form of carbs, but these were a hit because they arrive so soft and warm! Breakfast: -Two Eggs any Style *Can't go wrong with the obligatory American breakfast because everywhere you have it, they tailor it uniquely to their own.

Yelp
Had a weekend stay at the Seabird Resort and this restaurant is attached to it. It was our first time staying there and we had dinner and breakfast here. Dinner was so delicious!! The Parker rolls still linger in my head with that salty butter!! My short ribs were just the perfect serving with the mash and asparagus. I don't know what I was thinking but the chocolate cake sounded like a great way to end the evening. Though it absolutely was, prepare to share because it is a generous size and very rich! If you love chocolate, it's for you! We didn't have reservations (which we knew to do for both of our breakfasts after speaking with our amazing server) we were sat right away and everything went smoothly. There are two options for breakfast- a buffet or a la carte. We experienced both and once again, I can confidently say..amazing service and great meals. The buffet has everything from French toasts, pastries, fruit, egg omelettes, yogurts, oatmeal! You name it. You also cannot go wrong with the a la carte. Many good choices there too. I love the vibe here. Beach, casual but with a hint of an upscale feel. There are seating styles for all parties, large or small, and plenty of outdoor seating too. I would absolutely come back here again!

Yelp
In few words: Great food, slow service. Waited for a table, then waited quite awhile for server to come around. Waited a LONG time for our food but it was worth the wait (seriously). Food would be 5 stars and service would be 2.5 stars. My mom and I shared several dishes: -Scallop crudo in buttermilk sauce- tangy and fresh. -Spring pea soup with creme fraiche- this was my favorite! Texturally so interesting which is unusual for a pea soup. Outstanding flavor -catch of the day: salmon filet in a green curry mussel sauce with eggplant. This was SO GOOD. Skin on salmon was crispy, salmon was moist and cooked perfectly, the green curry mussel sauce was silky smooth and full of flavor. The mussels melted in our mouths. Eggplant was not over cooked. This is a dish I will dream about.

Yelp
I went to dinner and breakfast to Piper. I want to start by saying that the service is outstanding. The decor is pretty lending to a California casual attire. Let's talk about dinner first. We were there to celebrate our anniversary. My husband ordered the oysters and I had the Salanova greens. My salad was drenched in dressing which wilted the greens. The only crisp came from the two shavings of pink radish which were the highlight of the salad. My husband's oysters were ok. The mignonette lacked character so it was a bland experience. My husband had the orange duck. All reviews were positive and this is a dish he loves as it always reminds him of France. The duck was well cooked but it lacked flavor. The orange glaze was just a hint of orange. I had the raviolo. It claimed to be vegan but it was not. It was filled with goat cheese and egg yolk. The server even offered more fresh parmesan. I took a bite and left the rest for my husband. It was supposed to be on a hot broth but neither meal was hot. It took so long to get our dinner that both dishes were cold. The presentation was pretty. The highlight of the dinner were two chickpea flour pillows filled with avocado mousse amuse bouche they brought at the start of the meal. They also gave us two champagne flutes on the house. Great touch by our awesome bartender/server. They closed our meal with a mini frozen cupcake and two strawberry flowers. We were both underwhelmed by the quality of the food. Since we were paying Mister A prices we were expecting an unforgettable dinner. It was disappointing and that is why you will see more reviews about the brunch buffet. The brunch buffet was $50 pp. It had plenty of options for both of us. I do like that they use local ingredients. We do plan to go back to the hotel but I'm not sure the Piper will be part of the plan.

Yelp
The reviews for this restaurant don't do justice... the food in this place is on POINT! You can taste the quality ingredients with unique combination of flavors - everything we ordered was delicious. My husband, the kids, and myself cleaned every last drop of sauce on every plate. My only slight complain is that I wish it's a bigger portion- because we wanted more! We ordered - For apps- Yellowfin tuna with some pistachio sauce and octopus app. Then also the beet salad was very well flavored. For kids- they even devoured the fresh tomato marinara sauce ($10 - small portion) and the steak (for $22- we also wish there was more meat even for kids meal) For main- we shared the seabass. Would definitely come back to try the other dishes!

Yelp
This place is located inside of the hotel, walking distance to the Pier. The color scheme and design is very beautiful and appeasing to the eye. Our waiter was very pleasant BUT slow service. There were only a few other tables so I don't understand why it was taking longer than usual to even get our drinks. The food was good, although i did not like the rigatoni pasta- it was way too spicy. The ingredients did state it had a chile in it but no other sign or warning regarding how spicy it would be. I suggest adding the level of spice next to it. When we got our check, both pastas were still on the check and my soup was listed as $14 when on the menu it was listed at $12. The manager had to get involved and initially was going to just discount the food off...excuse me? I only ate a few pieces and sent it back. It should have been taken off completely. Anyway she did end up taking it off the check but the fact I had to ask and emphasize we did not eat it is crazy. Unfortunately i will not be going back due to the check situation and the reason I'm giving this place 3 stars.

Yelp
Updated to include some positives. This is my 10th time dining at piper. Came here for 2 dinners and then 2 breakfasts this trip. Recommend: Sea bass (light, moist and flavorful) Kids pasta (simple but delicious) Superfood açaí bowl Continental breakfast (good variety, kids loved the chocolate croissants, the orange juice is very fresh) Ok but not great: Kid's Chicken tenders (pretty standard) Focaccia starter (a little too greasy but good cheese dipping sauce) Rigatoni arrabiata (lacked spice) Oatmeal Chocolate chip cookie Blueberry and cranberry pie Do not recommend: Squid ink pasta- watery and lacked flavor Definitely recommend reservations. Service depends on how busy the restaurant is. We typically waited longer for service during breakfast. When we came early for dinner, service was excellent and the service was attentive to food sensitivities and went above and beyond to help accommodate.

Yelp
I came here for a friends birthday brunch on a Sunday. I called ahead of time and made a reservation for the birthday adding notes of food allergies and something special for a birthday. When we arrived, we were seated in a cute table near the glass windows which I appreciated. Its a great spot to people watch, and the ambiance is top notch. The birthday girl opted to get the all you can eat buffet, and due to food allergies on my end, had to have the chef make a omelette off menu. Little did I know, that asking for a veggie omelet that was specific not to have peppers would cost me more than the brunch buffet. It didn't come with toast, and avocado was like $10 extra. Are you kidding me? Lesson learned, although the omelet was good, it was not worth $45.00+ i mean I am not eating at the RITZ Carlton. I treated my gf for her birthday, luckily we got 10% off locals which was about $7.00 but I wont be coming back here anytime soon. If i do, i will be making sure exactly what I am getting and how much its going to cost me. $100 for a brunch for 2 for me without alcohol or mimosas to me, is excessive. She had fun, and enjoyed her meal. That's all the matters. But, there are other options that would be better in quality and budget friendly. tip: they add a 6% extra to the tab for employees wages, etc. I don't like that. I already paid for tip, over paid for my omelette and now its another extra fee? On top of tip? beware. I feel cheated.

Yelp
The Sunday buffet lacked any kind of good food. It was extremely expensive, $104 for 2 and we were staying at the hotel. Service wasn't good, either.

Yelp
World class friendly service. We encountered 3 individuals who made our evening dining experience simply perfect. World of Hyatt manager Jade went out of her way to arrange and connect our Hyatt points to our dinner reservation so we could redeem them. Our server Deb was unbelievably knowledgeable on every dish we enquired about, even down the sourcing location of the produce. And the restaurant manager Nate was a breath of fresh air with his bubbly personality and ultra friendly interactions. And of course, the food was exquisite. One of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time and a classic example of how important well trained, polite, and passionate employees are to the success and image of a business. Bravo Piper & Hyatt.

Yelp
One of the highlights of staying at the Seabird. Breakfast at Piper was always on point. We always went early and never ran into issues with waiting for a table. Kid friendly with yummy food. They have a buffet of sorts on the weekends with lots of delicious options. My daughter stuck with the pancakes and side of fruit. Breakfast being mostly comped was also nice (being a guest of honor / globalist perks). I would still return even without it being comped.

Yelp
Decided to try it here, my first time. Beautiful hotel. Ate at Piper... No vegetarian options but they made me a simple pasta with red sauce and ended up charging me around the same price as the other meat dishes, cost me $26!!! The few slices of bread to go with it was overpriced to. My friend had octopus and said it was good but her meal was close to $100 for an appetizer, entrée and glass of wine. My beer, pasta and bread was $60. The other restaurant on the other side of the hotel at least had a view of the ocean. Probably won't go again with so many other good options around the area.

Yelp
Stayed at the Seabird for a staycation and popped in Piper to see if we should dine. 7:45 and place is pretty open which threw us off but they block off a lot of resos for hotel guests/room service etc. Had the pleasure to meet Atzhiri and after chatting with her we decided to stay and eat a full meal. She was so welcoming, knowledgable of the menu/Chef and ingredients. We started with focaccia & beet salad, both so great and beet portion was amazing. Also added the crudo which had a great flavor sauce and ended with the short rib agnolotti which blew us away! We will be back because we Live in Oceanside and now have a favorite dinner spot and server to visit!

Yelp
Excited to be back at the Seabird and dining at Piper. The restaurant has fun, modern decor and the food is always great. This evening, Ethan was our server and he was quite attentive, checking in at the right times and ensuring water glasses were full and dishware was promptly cleared. We ordered the kid's flatbread (think pizza), farmer greens salad, lobster and coconut soup, Piper's burger, and Sinaloa chicken. The flatbread came out so quickly after we ordered and was tasty; great for our hungry toddler. The farmer greens salad was simple but delicious. Well dressed without being overwhelming and a more than adequate portion. The lobster and coconut soup started off rough. It was initially a tad off, and I can't think of the last time I asked to send something back, but I did with this soup. Ethan shared to me that Chef tried the soup and said there might have been a smidge of extra lemongrass in the soup and though they had already sent out a farmer greens salad for me as replacement, they also (unprompted) made a new batch of soup and served that as well. We were impressed by the recovery and the soup was so much better, though very slightly salty for our taste. The Piper's burger was massive and delicious. Wifey particularly enjoyed the cheese crisp. I need to figure out how to make chicken like the Sinaloa chicken. It was perfectly flavored, juicy and tasty. I also enjoyed the mash but didn't quite understand the charred avocado, it seemed like a normal treatment of avocado. Looking forward to returning soon.

Yelp
I am going to name Piper my favorite dining experience of 2023! The gorgeous Piper restaurant is located in The Seabird Resort. We visited in August of 2023 and I regret taking this long to remark on the outstanding experience. From the ambiance, to the excellent service, to each and every bite of perfect flavor, texture and balance, we were thoroughly impressed. I will let my photos speak for me on this one, other than to say that our server Hannah was so knowledgeable about the menu and welcoming, that we felt treated like family. How I wish this restaurant was in Claremont or Pasadena so I could go more often!

Yelp
Service was good and the bartender friendly and she made a great martini. Food was disappointing the Octopus presentation was sloppy and bland the rigatoni pasta was over cooked and the tomato sauce was just ok. I reluctantly sent it back as I tried to enjoy it but just couldn't settle so I asked for the rigatoni to be al dente but second time around was suspicious as it was too quick to come out and unfortunately just as disappointing. Felt like the rigatoni was pre cooked I don't recommend the rigatoni alla rabbuiata or the Octopus.

Yelp
I stopped in to get an oat milk matcha while working and it was pretty good! $10 drinks are the norm these days I guess, but overall yummy.

Yelp
Piper was really nice! My friend and I had the Parker Rolls, which was absolutely yummy! The bread was super soft, and the honey comb + butter + sea salt combo made every bite feel like its own depending on the proportions you decide to pair with the roll. I had the braised short rib, which was super soft. The meat felt like it melted in my mouth. My only complaint was that I wish the portion sizes were bigger. After eating, it felt like I could still eat more. Everyone was super nice and EXTREMELY attentive to us. Our water was refilled constantly, and every time we had a question, everyone was able to answer with an in-depth explanation. (If you're a local, just remind your server to give you the locals discount) Overall, the place is great! Right next to the beach, and inside feels super well decorated yet homey as the bench's had pillows which made me feel like I was sitting on a couch. I definitely would come here again but for more special occasions rather than everyday type eating out.

Yelp
I stayed at Mission Pacific Resort and breakfast was included for my Hyatt status. I ate 3 times for breakfast. I had buffet on . The service on Monday was just Ok. It was better on Tuesday. I felt the options for breakfast could be better. The buffet brunch blew me away. The breakfast did not. The first day, I got The everything bagel with salmon. I liked that they sprinkled the seasoning on top. It was good but it didn't come with a side so I ordered the oatmeal. The crumb on the oatmeal was buttery but that was it. The apples were good. The second day, I got the pork Benedict and Pancake. The pork Benedict was small to me. I really love eggs Benedict and this one was a disappointment. The malted pancakes were big and filling. This being my second day eating breakfast here, I had trouble ordering a the menu is the same and there weren't a lot of options

Yelp
We came for weekend brunch and it was ok. The place was very cute and the food was not bad but also not amazing. They have an omelet bar and some basic breakfast offerings like waffles, pancakes, potatoes and French toast. The buffet was $42 per person. The hotel and lobby are breathtaking but I think this place is more for tourists and out of towners than locals.

Yelp
Just had our 55th anniversary diner at Piper. Could not have been more pleased, from the hostess, sever, and back server. Made the reservation the evening before and was able to talk to the head chef about the two seabass dinners. The food was right on, seared seabass with the ceaser salad. we are locals and will absolutely be back.

Yelp
We had a beautiful dinner at the Piper restaurant. We were able to get here a few minutes early to see the gorgeous Oceanside sunset.... This restaurant is literally a block away from the original top gun house, which is now a pie shop . The food is very fresh. We had their grilled octopus, very flavorful. . We also enjoyed the grilled salmon with a tomato caper Ragu soup... (I'm pretty sure that's not how it was advertised but that's how it ate and it was delicious) We finished that off with their incredibly creamy, delicious fresh carrot cake. This is definitely a beautiful restaurant to go to for a date night family night or a girls brunch . They've got great signature cocktails and nice wine list. The staff are incredibly friendly. There is valet parking at the hotel, but there's also parking down the street . We highly recommend you go and enjoy yourself at Piper.

Yelp
The Sunday brunch buffet at Piper was fantastic. Our server Monse was quite attentive. The Piper is in the Seabird hotel. It is quite classy, though casual. The buffet was great and had a huge variety of food including vegetarian offerings.

Yelp
The service here was great, the staff was very friendly. They are pretty busy, so make a reservation ahead of time. The menu is seasonal, I heard, so I didn't post a photo of the menu. We ordered the Pipers Burger, fries, Lobster Lo Mein. The food was delicious, well seasoned, great flavors. I do however, have a couple of comments that I feel is only fair if I share: The Lobster Lo Mein is not all lobster. It's actually lobster and shrimp. I felt like it should have been called "Lobster & Shrimp Lo Mein" which I'm sure people would still love, but I don't want anyone to think they're getting just lobster. Though the burger was an amazing burger, the bottom bun appeared to have been oozing with grease when I picked up my burger. It felt as if it was coming from the onion jam that was sitting on top of the bottom bun? But not sure. Look, the above comments are in no way to put down the business. I enjoyed my meal and they have some of the best fries here! I just felt like customers should be aware.

Yelp
We came to Piper for brunch because we stayed at the Seabird Resort which was right above Piper. I was disappointed because they had such a small menu with limited options. They had a buffet available which was almost $50 per person but we decided to do a la carte. They only had about 6-7 options for breakfast and I ordered their acai bowl. The acai bowl was a huge disappointment and I don't understand how they can make an acai bowl bad. I was so annoyed because they froze the acai in the bowl probably overnight and then just added some fruits and served it to me. When I got the bowl, the acai was so frozen and I could not mix the ingredients together. I feel like acai bowls are usually creamy and blended which makes it easier to mix all the fruits and toppings together. It basically felt like I was eating ice cream but not in a good way. I felt like I was eating two different things and the açaí and toppings didn't mix with each other at all. The acai bowl was a whopping $18. If it was good then I wouldn't mind paying but this was outrageous. I came with a group of 6 and none of us were satisfied with the things we ordered. The service was so bad. They gave us the wrong check twice and then proceeded to add things we never ordered on the 3rd check. It was so annoying and how they dealt with it. The food was so overpriced especially for the quality. If the food and service were great then I wouldn't mind paying more but it wasn't worth it. I will never be coming back to Piper!!

Yelp
The restaurant is beautiful, a great date night spot. The food was delicious and I loved that the menu included where some of their local ingredients are from.

Yelp
Delicious but pricy breakfast buffet. They have pretty much anything you could ever want. Eggs Benedict, bacon, potatoes, waffles. They have amazing juicy fried chicken. They also have a plank of salmon. They even have healthy options like avocado toast, homemade granola, yogurt, build your own healthy bowl. They also have a dessert table with Churros with a touch of caramel inside. Nice bold coffee. They take reservations too! On my dish I got - pulled pork Benedict, egg white frittata, avocado toast, churro, croissant, bacon, fried chicken, potatoes.

Yelp
Some great chateaubriand for two, albeit they serve it rare even when asked for medium. The platter was so hot we ate the medium cooked ends and let the platter bring up the remaining to medium! It's a pleasant atmosphere with comfy chairs. Service was excellent. Cmon with the 6% service charge (not tip) to pay for the extra State required increase in minimum wage! Ridiculous and you lost a star!

Yelp
We dined at PIPER, one of the restaurants tucked inside the Seabird Ocean resort and Spa. It is a very nice building and many tourists enjoyed the other restaurants with firepits and couch like settings. Piper was on the corner of the building. The staff was friendly and helped us check in, as we came in a side door off the street, by accident. We were seated in the middle of the restaurant at a table with comfy chairs and a long bench. Our meals were served quickly and the staff was attentive. The Harissa Roasted Chicken had many sauces on the plate, making it a perfect meal. I enjoyed the dates on the plate. Many sweet and savory flavors. The chicken was tender and tasty. It was an unexpected twist to chicken, for sure. The Catch of the Day was Corvina, and served with market veges. It was tangy and scrumptious. The sauce was delicious, interesting veges, japanese eggplant, radishes and interesting selection. The fish serving size seemed small in my boyfriends opinion. It was 6.5 ounces of fish for the plate. I'm on a mission to eat less at each meal, so I offered some of my dish. I have oftened wondered why restaurants don't offer two sizes of each meal. Like a Supersize option. I eat less than most people at one meal, but then I share whatever is on my plate. I take leftovers home. But restaurants serve the same size meal, whether you are a big eater or light eater. The meal size looked ok to me. We loved this restaurant experience and will come back. The wonderful waitress told us the menu changes based on the local food sourced, so good luck getting these amazing items when you go!

Yelp
Great service. The staff is friendly. if you are going for breakfast go early as it tends to run low on the buffet but it's worth 49.00 . If you choose that option they do also have a breakfast menu u can choose from. The shore bird is nice also which is on the other side of the hotel. Good for people watching. They offer you blankets and have pits and heat lamps to keep you warm and there for hours which I love as I sit there and just watch the scene.

Yelp
Our server Sarah truly made our vacation. She was attentive and helpful. She checked and made sure that our entrees were allergen free multiple times and provided us with amazing service. The food is also delicious. We ordered the grilled octopus, squid ink pasta, rib eye, procuitto and a few children's meal. Lovely restaurant and will definitely be back!

Yelp
We came here for our make-up anniversary dinner since the first restaurant we tried was awful. Piper made up for our experience at the other place and then some. The restaurant itself it beautiful and had amazing floral arrangements. Our server was friendly and prompt and explained the menu very well. The food was incredible. My daughter had the kids bolognese which was fantastic, I had the duck ragu and my husband had the short rib. Everything was absolutely delicious. They provided us with a really nice assortment of desserts for our anniversary as well as a signed card from the staff. It was so sweet!! We had such an incredible meal here.
