"Pipis isn’t just located near the beach. It’s smack-bang on top of it. The restaurant looks like a modest summer bungalow, complete with rattan furniture, linen drapes, and floor-to-ceiling windows that make the most of the spectacular ocean view. Service is ultra-relaxed, and the ever-changing menu is unsurprisingly dominated by things plucked from the briny deep. Sydney Rock oysters team with apple mignonette, plump Skull Island prawns are served hot off the barbecue, and blue eye is steamed and served with macadamia-chili crisp. Seats are sought-after, particularly in summer months, so book ahead or get here well before the sun starts to set. Missed out? The takeaway fish-and-chip window is a decent consolation prize for the disorganised." - Ellen Fraser

Perched on the Albert Park foreshore, Pipis Kiosk offers stunning sunset views alongside its casual fish and chips or upscale dining experience, led by chefs Tom Hunter and Jordan Clay. Here’s what we had: 🦪 Sydney Rock Oyster, Apple Kohlrabi Mignonette: Perfection. 🍇 Grape Focaccia & Carrot Hummus: A standout combo. 🐟 Swordfish Carpaccio with Strawberry Gazpacho: The best dish—delicate and packed with flavour. 🍝 Pipis Pasta: Melbourne’s best seafood pasta! IMO 🌶️ Merguez Lamb Sausage: Spicy, perfectly cooked. 🍟 Fries: The best fries I’ve had all year—crispy and delicious. 🍈 White Chocolate Ganache & Cantaloupe Sorbet: Refreshing but a bit overcomplicated. This was the $110 set menu & it’s constantly changing so expect a different menu each time Exceptional wine, stellar cocktails, and wonderful service made this visit unforgettable. My second time here, and I’ll definitely be back. It’s unbeatable for views, food, and drinks! 4.5/5

Caught up with friends here and booked a 6 PM slot—perfect timing to enjoy the sunset while having an amazing meal. We went with the chef’s menu, and every course was next-level. Definitely coming back!

Went there with my family and let me just say we loved the fish and chips there, to actually say it was delicious is an understatement they make the best fish and chips crunchy and just melts in your mouth 😋. And we also ordered this other fish and it was a bit pricey and I have to be honest for the price we spent on it , it was not worth it but it was not bad taste wise it was just the seasoning that was the problem for me . The Service was great , they kept checking on us asking us to see if anything was missing they were lovely and I love how it was on the beach too beautiful view .

Love Pipis! Great location and the view is amazing✨We recently had the $110 Chef’s Selection, and we couldn’t be happier! ✨ Salt cod croquettes 🦪 Oysters + kohlrabi mignonette 🍞 Focaccia + carrot hummus 🥒 Heirloom cucumber 🐟 Swordfish carpaccio + strawberry: gazpacho & basil oil - so light and refreshing! 🔥 Steamed Blue Eye, grilled lettuce + chilli macadamia crunch - our fave dish! The chilli crunch takes inspiration from Laoganma, and it didn’t disappoint! 🥩 Chargrilled Scotch fillet + green and pink peppercorn sauce - cooked to perfection 🥗 Iceberg ‘wedge’ salad, pistachio green goddess - a fun and creative salad 🥥 Coconut flan with rice puffs - perfect finish! With a fantastic wine list and dreamy sunset vibes, this place is a must-visit!

Went there on a Saturday night. The space is small and cosy with the lighting moderately dim and the music casual and relaxing which I loved. The service was relaxed and casual but unfortunately the food was a bit underwhelming. The highlight was the starter special which was wild mushrooms and duck ham in a nice cream/butter sauce, which was delicious and I hoped a sign of things to come. However, the seafood based dishes that followed ranged from decent (e.g. the swordfish carpaccio in strawberry gazpacho) to leaving a rather unpleasant taste in our mouths (e.g. Smoked eel risotto). I loved the view and the ambiance but I wished the standard of the food could rise to match.

Got a Fish and Chip takeaway with potato cake and yuzu drink. (Comes with tartare sauce, lemon slice and sauerkraut which is a great touch!) Heads up: their potato cake isn't the 'regular' potato scallop style - they also put fish and dill into it Been here a couple times for dinner, and a few times for takeaway as it used to be one of my favourite dining spots. A pity to read so many subpar reviews.. (though I can concur that someone can come off kinda rude/cold LOL) But I'm also optimistic that good leadership can turn the team culture around 😊

Visited in summer and the lines for the fish and chips were out of the door. We had the fish burger ($16) and Reuben ($16). Fish burger was excellent with a lovely homemade taretare sauce. Reuben was just alright. We'll have to come back to try their famous fish and chips!
