Pirouette Restaurant & Wine Shop

I've eaten here multiple times and the food is delicious! The food is so good I got the same entree (the brisket) 3 times. Love that you can choose a bottle of wine from the wine shop and drink it with dinner. Philippe and Jackie (the owners) are very nice and helpful when choosing a bottle of wine.

Can’t believe we didn’t try this place sooner. Getting a reservation was easy with the resy app. Showed up a little early and fortunately were able to be seated quickly. All of the service was great, multiple people checking in on us throughout. We did a pri fix and each time I thought the dish was excellent the next thing that came was even better! One of did the wine pairing and it was excellent. Will absolutely return soon!

Came here with a friend to try out this local wine bar on a Friday night. They take reservations which I would recommend as they can get busy on the weekends! There is indoor and outdoor seating. Inside you’ll find a wine shop with a variety of selections of white, reds, and sweet wines. We shared a bottle of the 2021 Deovlet Chardonnay for $48, which is comparable to the normal price of the wine. I don’t think the half bottles are worth it as they are charging nearly the full price of the full bottle but you’re only getting half the product. For example the G.D. Vajra Moscato d’Asti half bottle is $20 in house but if purchased elsewhere it is about $20 for the full bottle. The food was good but unique, we ordered the crab stuffed piquillo peppers for $16, pork and beef bolognese for $28, and crispy pork belly for $28. I thought the food was good overall but not the best meal I’ve had, especially considering the price. I feel the bolognese lacked flavor and portion was small. The peoper appetizer was very small for the price, served cold but with good flavor. I enjoyed the mushroom farrotto, it was the best thing I had. The wait staff were great and so was the ambiance. Overall, I had a good experience. I would come back for the wine and atmosphere but maybe not the food.

Excellent restaurant with a lovely, creative menu with lots of finesse. You can choose from a good wine selection from many parts of the world, curated by the owners. I loved the hazelnut cheesecake(no, it's not a dessert) and the crab stuffed peppers for appetizers. Then, we tried the short rib ( yes, 1 short rib) which was heavenly, and a delicious pork loin with mushroom grits. The service was excellent. A must if you are in Arlington.

We LOOOOVE Pirouette! Pirouette has succeeded in building the coziest atmosphere with the most beautiful, modern space and a lovely food and wine selection. The staff are amazing, always super helpful and warm welcoming. We absolutely just love coming here. PS. Please bring back the goat cheese stuffed squash flowers and crispy artichoke - these two previous items was a WOW experience and something we have talked about having on our wedding menu (yes, that’s how delicious it was!)

This is one of my favorite places in Arlington. The menu changes often, providing fresh options to try. I've had the duck and rabbit dishes for dinner and loved both. I also highly recommend the steak tartare, and definitely save room for dessert—you won't be disappointed!

I’ve been here 4 times now since moving, and I am consistently impressed. My partner and I are incredibly picky and have struggled to find quality restaurants in the area, even including DC sometimes. The food is just amazing. And not just that, but they’re good every time, and consistency is a difficult trait for a restaurant. I ordered the tuna sandwich and was told the bread is made in house after complimenting it, and you can absolutely tell. Not overly mayo-y. The spices on the chips were perfectly balanced, not too salty. We’ve come back here just for the sangria multiple times. As I understand, the son makes it and he has a great understanding what makes a sangria good. Juicy, bright and fresh. We are ended up asking for the recipe and buying everything the entire list. The pistachio dessert had us fighting over the last bites. I already love an olive cake and you can really tell they used quality pistachios since they can get lost in the richness or taste bitter when stale easily. The service is just great at well, reminds me of the warmth and passion of the people I met during trips to Provence. The inside is beautifully decorated and they have a big front patio. I knocked off a single point because I like a more classic design but that’s a personal thing.

I am not even done eating here and have to praise this amazing place! Amazingly friendly staff all around, crazy attention to detail and perfect service! Carpacio was unique, but delicious, easier to eat than most traditional carpacios. Brisket was one of the most amazing entrees ever. Perfectly seasoned, tender, full of flavor with amazing sides also done perfectly. The barrolo by the glass was a 2019 and perfectly went with it. The budino looked so good, I ended up taking a bite before a picture. Absolutely amazing blend of delicious chocolate, peanut butter that is not overpowering, and olive oil to round out all the flavors. Honestly one of my best dining experiences of all time. Thank you to the entire staff!

Every time I go to Pirouette, it makes me want to write a new review because it is just so enjoyable every single time. We went to try their new brunch menu, which is offered Saturday mornings. Like the dinner menu, the brunch menu is pretty streamlined, but every single option is fantastic. We tried the eggs your way platter, which came with soft scrambled eggs, sausage patties, rosti hash browns, and focaccia toast- every single thing was delicious independently and all together. We also really enjoyed the patty melt. At brunch, they also offered $10 glasses of house sparkling, red, or white (and explained specifically which type of wine each would be before we ordered). Pirouette also has some of the nicest service I've experienced anywhere. We had such a wonderful time at brunch with our server, Robin, who honestly felt like she was dining with us (in the best possible way!). We shared with her that we were there celebrating a special occasion, and she was just as excited as we were; she also let the owner know we were celebrating, and he brought out a new dessert the kitchen was testing for us to try, which was just so sweet. Could not love Pirouette more!

How have I not yet reviewed Pirouette, my home away from home? I cannot count how many times I have been here, but from the well priced wine selections and excellent advice, the delicious and always adapting menu, the fun but relaxed ambiance, the memorable wine dinners and tasting events, and the lovely (and shady!) outdoor seating that becomes an extension of my tiny condo balcony during good weather... what else could I possibly ask for? If you have not been and are looking for advice: run, don't walk.

I am a life-long Arlingtonian and I absolutely love this place. I was eager for it to come to Ballston and haven't been disappointed. The wine is a draw - affordably priced, ordinarily delicious, and no corkage fees for any bottles you may buy, (And the owner Phillipe's recs are almost as good as his snazzy eye glasses!) As good as the wine is, the food is also a big draw for me. A short, curated seasonal menu that I'd expect from a five-star restaurant. This family-owned place is charming and delicious. I never leave yelp reviews but I had to go out of my way to share this one. Full disclosure - I also had my engagement party the first Month they opened here... and, surprise surprise, it was a showstopping bash!

I love pirouette! Delicious wine, kind owners and staff, and good food. The only thing is I really wish is that they offered flights of wine! They have a wine tasting every day but a flight would be fun to taste wines you can pick. Otherwise perfect spot!

Loved the ambiance and the service was impeccable. The food felt more French-inspired than anything. Everything was delicious, and I say that as someone who isn't suuuper into French food (so take what I say with a grain of salt haha) Great selection of wines and decently priced ($20-$25 for a half bottle, which I thought was perfect for two people) I'll definitely return, and maybe just order wine and appetizers as I wasn't super intrigued by the entree options to warrant another visit. They have nice outdoor seating which would probably be a nice vibe once it's nice out

This place earns its 4 stars because it has some of the best wine deals for both value and price point in the area. The service is exceptional and friendly while the inside and outside areas are so welcoming and beautiful for both a date night or a little get together with friends. My ONE complaint, and it's rather glaring, is that the food items while delicious, are not worth the price point. My guess is that this is how they make up for their lower wine margins which is totally fine, but you won't catch me having more than a small bite here. Overall a great little spot to share a delightful glass or bottle of wine and spark up great conversation with loved ones.

I give a solid 4+ to this place. If it was quieter it would have been a 5. We need to return because there was a large wedding party in half the restaurant. A cool concept is you grab your wine from a bottle shop located in the restaurant. Then it gets uncorked for you. Food was good. Eggplant was mid - but short rib, branzino and fusilli was good. Starters were Mac and cheese balls and a ricotta dip with bread - both delicious. Service was attentive. The owners were there and they were great.

Philippe and Jackie Lustineau have created a wonderful spot for top notch food and curated wine. Plus, it is the heart of Arlington and is a beautiful space with lovely outdoor seating. We ate and imbibed with a number of longtime friends and colleagues. The food and wine were stellar: deviled eggs, crab stuffed pasilla peppers, pankobreaded eggplant, and key lime tart for dessert.( photos attached.) This is an oasis in an area where we would normally expect mediocrity--food and wine at La Pirouette have been chosen with love and good taste.

I really loved Pirouette! I went with my coworkers during happy hour and had some delicious red wine and yummy appetizers. The happy hour is Tuesday Saturday, 3-6pm. Wine is $10 and there are several small plates for $9. This is a family owed business and we were able to meet the owner who was very friendly and showed our group great hospitality. I can't wait to come back for another happy hour or for dinner. In addition to the hood wine and food they also have a wine shop inside with great selections and they do free wine tastings! I also learned that they have live music several nights a week. So I definitely want to come check that out!

Stopped in for a weekday late lunch. Was immediately greeted by server Donald who epitomized service with a smile. The ambiance is sophisticated European as you can tell from the photos. On the right side of the airy space is an eclectic wine shop offering an array of domestic and foreign wines. The shop offers free wine tastings regularly. Not many other customers so proprietors Jackie and Philippe came out to explain the key features of the remarkable decor that is upscale but friendly. The welcoming front courtyard will open next week. We ordered from the lunch menu and had the kale salad, tuna sandwich and open-faced focaccia. All were super delicious! The kale was soft and delicate. The tuna salad was sandwiched between deliciously buttered toasted bread. The prosciutto on the focaccia was sweet and salty at the same time. We also enjoyed a special Japanese citrus yuzu soda. Excellent meal. Can't wait to try the dinner menu. Will be back!

This place is fantastic! The food is delicious, accompanied by a great wine selection. You can purchase your wine by a glass, or a whole/half bottle, and take it home. The menu changes often, so you can always try something new. Casual and comfortable ambiance, and a very friendly service. Highly recommend!

Really great local spot with a fantastic rotating menu! The owners are incredibly sweet and always helpful. I am not typically a tuna person but I absolutely love the tuna salad sandwhich at lunch and highly recommend! Another standout is the whipped ricotta appetizer with rotating fresh vegetables. Great spot for a girls night or small group dinners. Would love to see the menu built out a bit more with more options in the future!

My fiance planned my engagement party here the first month it was open, taking a risk before we really knew the place. Well, some bets pay off! Now we go often -- I truthfully believe it is the best in its class. Fantastic food befitting a four-star restaurant, and the wine (and owners knowledge of it) is much better than your usual wine bar, and pricing couldnt be more reasonable. Fast forward a few months- my best friends planned my bridal shower here because they know I love it so much. Truly the best place in Alrington for intimate dinner and special life time occasions! The owners Jackie and Philippe truly elevate the experience! You're missing out if you don't make this one of your go to restaurants!

If I could give extra stars, I would. The owners, exec chef, the whole team are passionate and knowledgeable. I recommend coming with friends or even by yourself to enjoy Ballston's best wine selection and as for the food, I've tried something new each time I have come and have been more than happy because I've only enjoyed great bites here. The decor includes fresh flowers, live plants and unique 3-D art. Bonus: you can choose a bottle from the shop to take with you or to enjoy à la table.

Absolutely my go-to restaurant when I'm showing friends/family Arlington. From the soap in the bathroom to the flower beds outside, every design element in this restaurant was thought out. And it's beautifully obvious. It was my boyfriend's birthday and I took him here for lunch. We picked out an amazing white wine from their wine shop and was able to drink it at our booth without a corking fee! Lunch was unreal. So much so that I can't even describe it. The picture I uploaded were our two appetizers. And it was one of those meals that I appreciated so much because it's almost impossible to replicate in your own home. I also appreciated how our server waited until we were 3/4 done with our appetizers to put in our entrees. There's nothing worse than being half way through the appetizers when your food comes out. 10/10 service 10/10 food 10/10 ambiance

This place is cool, it definitely has the potential to be a local spot I regularly hit up for a glass with friends. However, the appetizers are extremely overpriced and small. I understand there will be a bit of a premium for such a place, but I left hungry after spending a decent amount of money. The owner (I think?) came over to chat with us a bit which was nice. We came as a large group and it was a bit disappointing from a service perspective. Totally get the place was busy, which is awesome, but it didn't feel super personal or overly welcoming compared to other similar places I've been. I do want to come back and try this place again with a smaller party to see if the experience might be different. The wine was great and the bottles were not too expensive. I like that they have a rotating selection. I do wish they offered flights.

We came in here for some wine on a Thursday evening. The location is very trendy with a nice outdoor location and a variety of different wines. One thing about them is most of their wine bottles for sales in the $20-$40 which is really awesome if you need to pick up a unique bottle for a gift or a party. Our waiter Donald was great, super knowledgable and friendly. We tried an Orange wine, white, and a red. They have a few beers here with a few local beers too. Prices for wine was from $8-$15 a glass but they do really have a small pour, 6oz max but sometimes looked like less. We didn't come to eat but the options for food were a bit too "fancy" for me- I wish they did more brunch because their mothers day brunch options look more my speed.

Great wine place with small bites and nice outdoor seating! I really like how their menu is seasonal and they regularly rotate dishes (we were served the fall menu when we came). We ordered the hush puppies and mac & cheese croquettes both of which were great starters. Everybody at the table ordered the taglioni which seemed like the best main on the menu. We all really enjoyed this pasta (though I wish they trimmed off a little bit more of the pork belly fat, I did end up getting a couple of bites that were purely fat). The taglioni was not too heavy which I liked! I will say I wish the menu was a little bit bigger and they had sharing options like a full charcuterie board (instead of just one option of cheese). I also wish that they served wine flights, however we all did like the bottle of wine we ordered and thought it was reasonably priced. They have a big outdoor seating area and the interior has a nice vibe. They also have a little area inside that you can shop around in!

I decided to visit Piroutte on a nice day a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed the outside space. I had a nice glass of wine and they even bring a carafe of water, not unlike a Paris café. My wish would be that they served food beyond prepackaged snacks between lunch and dinner. I understand it costs money and the slow traffic in this time frame probably doesn't warrant the costs, but even something simple like cheese, chacuterie, and crackers, or a piece of cake might get me to come again during the off hours. The dinner menu is short but looks attractive, but I can't comment on the quality since I didn't eat, but I enjoyed the atmosphere and thought the price of the wine was OK for quality. I spent about $13 for one glass of wine with tax and 20% tip for the attentive service (even though I just ordered one glass of wine) was still welcomed.

New neighborhood favorite! I was so excited for this place to open and went with some friends to check it out. They have a gorgeous patio but we went inside due to the wind. Service was exceptional. Our waiter was so friendly and welcoming. At his recommendation, two of us tried the Ischia Biancolella Cenatiempo ($10/glass) and it was delicious. The kitchen is still warming up, but they had several options of small bites to try. I got the "watermelon three ways", which was light and refreshing. Would love to see them offer wine flights. For me that would take it to 5 stars! Welcome to the neighborhood, Pirouette!

Excellent food and service! Daughter and I we stopped by for dinner. Food is excellent!! Charcuterie board with the Squab/Duck Rillette is Excellent. Great combination and tasted very good. As the Spaghettoni Shrimp Scampi my daughter had, and the Flounder & Scallop Roulade that I ordered.

Truly one of my new favorite spots in Arlington. This is a wine bar meets cafe. They have a great selection of wines by the glass, including orange (skin contact white) wines and pet nat. The wines by the glass range from $8ish to $15 I believe, so something for every price range. You can also buy a bottle from the shop and have it there with no corkage fee. The food (dinner) is tasty. We had duck, a beet salad, and some other items. Everything was great PLUS they are very allergy friendly. I have a nut allergy, and they gave me a separate menu indicating what I could eat and what they could modify. THANK YOU for this. Service has been wonderful both times I'm there. For glasses, they gave us a small pour of the wine beforehand to make sure we would like it. I plan on coming back here often!

Second visit and all I can say is WOW! Why haven't you gone yet? The vibe, the Food, the wine selection, the phenomenal service, just WOW. Example, I had the whole branzino and it was light, flaky, crispy and divinely seasoned. Started with a cheese plate that had sweet potatoes in a mix that was so delicious I ignored the beautiful generous portion of cheese. The short rib fell off the bone it was so tender. Save room for the chocolate mousse​ cake, light and creamy and YUM. There were about five things on the menu I need to go back for and some I just need to get again. This place is a gem. It deserves awards and probably will get them soon.

UPDATE: What I write is my personal review of my experience at a public location and does not represent the company I work for. What type of person stalks the customer and brings up the person's work place on their response?? This has nothing to do with my job, but the behavior of the owner which made my experience at his restaurant a horrible experience. His version of the story are all lies in an attempt of discrediting and slandering our character. If he's looking for guidance on how to run a hospitality business, then he's in the wrong business. I was so excited to try this restaurant but left very disappointed due to the rudeness of the owner. The food was mediocre, but the wine and the young staff were good minus the fact didn't know what gluten free meant though it's an option on their menu. My friends made a reservation for girl's night, we were happy to forgo our reservation and sat at an open seating since we had other friends join us. The owner approached us telling my friends and I that our friend's acquaintance made him feel uncomfortable with no cause. He just made an assumption with no cause or reason. The acquaintance did not do anything to disturb the peace or cause anything at a restaurant. He ordered a beer and sat with our friends. We told our friends of the owners statement and they quickly finished their meals and left so the acquaintance would leave with them so the owner would not feel uncomfortable and continue to enjoy our dinner. Then the owner approached us again yelling at us loudly are you guys going to pay for his drink!? We were surprised by his approach and statement because it was rude and inappropriate. Our friends had already paid for the drink on their tab. The owner didn't check with his staff before approaching us, he just jumped to conclusions once again. We tried to continue having our meal and enjoy the rest of the evening. I approached the owner to tell him that he made our experience very uncomfortable. This place is not cheap and I alone spent $120 so I expected better from the place and my experience. He didn't apologize and I told him we would never return again. I'm not complaining about the price of this place and happily paid, plus I gave the wait staff a good tip since it was not her fault how the owner behaved. He is beyond rude and I'm not the first to say it. You can see it in his very aggressive and inappropriate response. This is not the behavior of other restaurant owners in this area who know what being in hospitality business means.

I've been back to Pirouette a few times now, and each time, I'm more and more impressed. I'm so thrilled that Pirouette exists! All of the wines I've had (both in store, and the ones I've taken home) have been fantastic, and affordable. The food is delicious. And the service is excellent. Servers are attentive, helpful, and kind. A few times I've made a night of just hanging out here, and they've never made me feel anything but welcome. The atmosphere, and particularly the patio, are so inviting. Just an absolute gem of a neighborhood spot. My only critique, if I had to make one, is that I wish it had longer hours (particularly on Sundays). That said, I know this is a family owned spot, so I can understand why the hours are what they are.

Best wine bar I have ever been to anyone. I believe I have a high standard. If you want direct, honest, service and high-quality yet affordable wine, this is your place.

Such a great time at Pirouette! Had a lovely wine tasting and then ended it with a lovely French red blend, and my friend had the Budino. Will definitely be back for the wine selections alone!

Imagine walking into an incredibly fancy restaurant. It has a great atmosphere. Lighting is incredible and the tables are clean. The service staff is attentive and knowledgeable about wine. And then the food arrives, and then you have one bite. For good measure, you have another. You have a thought: "I've had better food made by an adorable 6-year-old with an Easy Bake oven." That's exactly what this place is. Aside from the wonderful decor and great selection of wines, there is very little about the food that makes a second visit worth it. My dining companion ended up sending back her pork belly because it was cold and fatty. I ordered the crispy pig trotters - and it came in two discs of fried batter with pork inside. Absolutely nothing like pig trotters. It could have been any other meat from a pig. Who knows. It was under-spiced. I asked for salt and hot sauce. The response was that they had neither because the food came pre-spiced. I don't care how fancy you pretend to be - don't tell me how my food should taste. The fact that salt isn't available is inexcusable. The dessert, however, was enjoyable and I would have it again. But kind of like that family member who is a failure at life most of the time and gets something right now and then, sometimes people give that little accomplishment too much credit. Perhaps instead of using fancy language in its menu, the managerial staff should be focused on getting the little things right, like having salt and more consumable meals. Again, the staff was incredibly nice - so this is not on them. Please tip well regardless of how enjoyable the meal is.

Wow! Friends told us to take the trip over the Potomac to try this quaint bistro and wine shop in Arlington. Two words for them... THANK YOU! One of the best dining experiences in a long time. Simple menu, that makes it simple to order it all (we did). Wine selection, Fabulous,and amazing value. Desser? Trust me, order both. If I can give over 5 stars, I would. Bravo!

This place was a miss. I was excited to check this place out, but the noise level was absolutely inaudible. You can barely hear anyone talking to you.

This is a neighborhood treasure. The wine selections are excellent, but the pricing is even better, and we not only peruse the wine shelves for our meal selection but buy bottles to take home. the menu is small but very good, and changes periodically. The owners are friendly and responsive. Couldn't find a better wine cafe -- and we've tried all of them in Arlington.

Love this place. Been twice and have found the owners to be charming. The selection of wines and food are top notch. The food is surprisingly good here. Appreciate that their menu in not only delicious, but also creative and interesting.

Met a girlfriend here for an early dinner. The food was delicious and the wine selection was divine. The manager served us, and explained how she chose the wines. Such a cute spot in the heart of Ballston. I hope to be back soon!

I've been waiting for this place to open for at least six months. I walked by the building every day with my dog and so I was very excited to check it out. We arrived and looked around the wine shop a bit. It was a nice selection. My one piece of feedback is that they should label the different sections such as French reds, American whites, local wines, etc. It's a beautiful space, the seats were nicely spaced and the high ceilings made it feel very open. We ordered a bottle of white wine and potato salad for the table, I ordered the tagliolini with braised pork belly, and tried my friend's pork chop Milanese and squash. I thought the potato salad didn't have much of a trout flavor, and was my least favorite dish. Everything else was pretty awesome. The squash and pork were my favorite, and the tagliolini, while just a touch too salty, was great. We ended up spending $50 per person, which was a bit higher than we expected, but again it was all very well done. One other piece of feedback is that I hope they introduce wine flights as it would be fun to try 3 or 4 white wines or reds with dinner. I'm excited to go back and I hope they continue to change up the menu with the seasons as I live nearby and hope to see what else the chef comes up with.

The food is delicious and the atmosphere is great. French themed, meticulously prepared dishes. The sauces are amazing. The place also has a wine shop. You can select your wine from the shop and drink it during dinner. The service is great too. Fun place!

1. Very limited menu 2. They don't allow tasting the wine before you buy a bottle 4. Service is disorganized. I had already paid my bill and left a tip when I was putting on my coat to leave when she approached me and said that she forgot to charge me for something, which was only $9 so I had to stop at the exit and have her run my credit card again. 3. The manager was extremely rude to my whole party. A man, who we did not know but was a friend of another patron, came in and was drinking a beer. While he was there, the manager came over to us, asking if we knew him and telling us the guy was making him nervous because he looked like he was on drugs. The guy was dressed strangely but was not causing any trouble or talking to ither patrons. Then, the guy left, the manager came over to me and told me the guy didn't pay so I would need to cover his tab. Naturally, I ran out to tell the guy he needed to pay his tab and he said it was taken care of. So I came back in and the manager admitted that his tab had been paid. So, he embarrassed me in front of a restaurant people by having me running after this guy, when there was absolutely no reason. He didn't even apologize. The owner responded to my google review very defensively, doubling down on his ridiculous reasoning and then comes up with an outright lie saying that my party came in with solo cups filled with "Lean". Sounds like this guy is begging for a defamation suit.

Pirouette is a breath of fresh air to a neighborhood that is surrounded by commercial development but few interesting eateries. It is on the first floor of a newly built mixed use development and given its airy interior fronted by rows of uncommon wines (1st row is all French wines given the owner's expertise and predilections) that are available to any diner to walk through and pick up for their table. The menu is not large but it is concise and feels authentic to what a small cafe in France might offer. Very seasonal and very pretty, pleasing to eat, see, and smell. Portions are not large but one gets the sense that the food is made exactingly and with attention to details. Service is friendly and attentive without being overbearing A bright, friendly place for friends to gather and celebrate.

It was fine. Food was over priced. And menu is not shareable plates. Which is what we (group of 3 women) wanted. We ended up ordering 3 meals. And 1.5 bottles of wine. Service and ambience was great.

Love this addition to Ballston! The owners are so nice and welcoming. Food and wine selection is the best in Ballston! Outdoor patio is great for summer.

Pirouette makes you feel at home the second you walk in the door! My husband and I love this wine bar - the elevated wine bar vibes are a great juxtaposition to the busy and more casual Arlington bars nearby when you're looking for something different. I've loved every glass of wine I've tried here - I enjoy the unique choices (like options you couldn't just find at the grocery store). The daily cheese is delicious and great for sharing if you're looking for a little treat while enjoying a glass of wine. The service was great as well with our waiter, Donald, explaining the variations between the wines and recommending what we would enjoy based on our preferences. I would definitely recommend the patio in warmer weather - it's nice to enjoy a glass and people watch. We can't wait to come back for dinner and a drink sometime soon!

This is actually kind of a hard review to write because I'm about to pour on the praise, but I also want this place to not be super crowded all the time. I think it probably will be though, and for good reason. Open a mere two weeks, it's an instant favorite. The menu is small, but the best food in Ballston. Okay, the best food in the Ballston/Clarendon/Courthouse quarter. That was a surprise, since I know this place is a wine bar first. The chef is punching way above his/her class. The wine menu is tightly curated, and promised to match well with the menu. The bottle we had kept that promise. We aren't really wine people, so I was skeptical of this place. But the price can't be beat, and the curation means you can't go wrong. Seriously. The most expensive bottle of wine on the menu tonight was $55. The bottle recommended to us was $19. At those prices you have absolute freedom to explore. Service was friendly and helpful. Also felt relaxed enough to take the time to finish our bottle. No rush to leave. Working my way to getting a Stammtisch ASAP.

I was very intrigued by this place because of the cute decor but honestly was a complete disappointment on the food front. We came for wine obviously and with that wanted to pair a cheese board. Their only cheese option was a $16 "cheese plate" that comes with one cheese and one side accoutrement (not an assortment). You cannot add bread and you have to buy crackers from the wine store if that's what you want - we did not order this but confirmed this was the case from the table next door. They also have a "charcuterie" board where the only meat it comes with is pate and includes focaccia but that is only for the charcuterie board, not the cheese board. We ended up getting this sweet potato dish, which was nice but it was cold which we didn't expect and it's basically a type of salad. The wine was fine and the service was nice but the food was just allllllll off - come here if you only want drinks.

We tried this new wine bar and cafe with a group of friends and stayed for hours. This cafe is absolutely perfect addition to Arlington for outings out with friends, date nights, or after work outing with colleagues. The menu offers a delicious variety of unique options. They were exquisite. All the foods was absolutely fresh and homemade. We ordered food all night long we wanted to try all the tasty food. The owners obviously take great care in selecting the best quality ingredients and wines. The CHOCOLATE BUDINO is the most delicious dessert ever tasted! The design and atmosphere was very cozy and relaxing for the evening, with nice design and intimate and modern lighting. The acoustics were perfect to hear each other and share the evening together. The owners and staff are lovely and help with the menu and pairing of wine options throughout the night. Thank you for a lovely evening, we will be back often!

Wanted to like it. Nice ambience. Went for lunch with two friends. Two ordered tuna sandwich, one ordered Mac and cheese croquettes. Croquettes were small and very overpriced. Then came one sandwich ten minutes later, and then my sandwich came a full 15 minutes later. There must have been a mixup in the kitchen. Server was very apologetic. I found the lunch menu overpriced and very very limited. Not likely to go back. They need a better lunch menu.

Ok if you want a plate of food that leaves you so full you need to be wheeled from the table, this is not the place. If you are looking for a nice ambiance with great service, and a lovely meal at a reasonable price, I would highly recommend you check out Pirouette. Lovely wine selection, a small but diverse dinner menu and some nice appetizers. I think they probably do a bigger lunch business than dinner, but there was a nice even flow of customers during our visit. Kudos to the owners, the chef, and our lovely waitress Abigail. It is a fairly easy bet to assume that the staff at Pirouette enjoy what they are doing. Good food and a happy staff, made for a wonderful anniversary dinner for my wife and I. Thank you Piroutte!

Overpriced and Rude. We took a menu outside to read and then stepped aside so as to not block the door. The host immediately came out of the restaurant and screamed at us to return the menu. Will never dine or buy from here and I hope others don't.

The food, service, ambiance, wine, everything was so amazing at Pirouette! I had the tri tip, the yellow green beans were so flavorful and the steak was delicious. We had help picking out an amazing wine in our price range! Would absolutely recommend for a night out.
