I used to frequent this location often, especially during my pregnancy with my son over 22 years ago. Throughout the years, I’ve witnessed many employees come and go, but one thing that remained the same was the consistently poor attitude of the owner and the older woman who typically works behind the counter. Due to the unpleasant customer service, I made the decision years ago to stop patronizing this establishment.
However, today, while in the area, I decided against my better judgment, to give the place another try after nearly a 10-year hiatus. To my surprise, I was greeted by a young gentleman who took my order. I was very clear and specific about what I wanted. After placing my order, the older woman appeared once again. The young man allowed me to dine in but directed me to a specific table, rather than allowing me to choose where I preferred to sit.
Once seated, my meal was brought out, hot and freshly prepared, with noodles added to my dish. However, approximately 15 minutes into my meal, the older woman came out and abruptly told me I needed to leave because they needed to “clean up.” I explained that I was not yet finished eating and asked why I wasn’t being allowed to enjoy my meal. She curtly responded, “We have to clean up.”
I then began packing up my food, only for her to further disrespect me by requesting an additional fee of $1.00 for the carryout container after I had already paid $25.90 for my meal.
Needless to say, I will never patronize this business again, regardless of how good the food may be. A simple lesson in basic customer service and human decency goes a long way. I hope this message serves as a reminder that how you treat people matters. God is always watching.
