We stopped in for our first cheese toastie ever, and man, did this place set a high bar! Make sure you have plenty of time, because they will take a bit to melt, but it is worth the wait for sure! They load these up with cheese, spring onion, and your choice of additional fillings. We went with one ploughman and one sweet onion, both with ham.
They were so good we couldn't stop talking about them long after we left. The bread was excellent, there was plenty of crispy cheese bits, the additional fillings were present, and complemented the cheeses perfectly.
The coffee was also quite good. There's a small eating area upstairs where we were able to watch the street while enjoying our sandwiches. The gentleman behind the counter was very kind and welcoming.
If we lived here, we'd become regulars. :)
