"Pistacia Vera has been open for almost 20 years and dabbles in brunch, but what you should really come here for are the laminated French pastries and desserts. Think things like perfectly flaky croissants, shiny eclairs, cushiony macarons in every color, and a show-stopping, domed chocolate mousse bombe. They don’t have indoor seating, so you’ll have to grab your goods and head out to the handful of tables on the sidewalk. That’s where you can people-watch neighbors walking their Goldendoodles and 1800s architecture-loving tourists visiting on weekends." - erin edwards, kindra peach

Great Coffee & Pastries, But Your Wallet Might Cry a Little Just popped into Pistacia Vera for a caffeine and pastry fix, and while I enjoyed it, my bank account gave me a stern look. It's definitely a "good, but expensive for what you get" kind of place. Let's talk lattes: The Pistachio Latte was good, no doubt, but honestly, it didn't quite hit the "$9 good" mark for me. Surprisingly, the Honey Butter Latte, at $1.50 less, was actually the standout – way better value and flavor. On the pastry front, they do a solid job. The Almond Croissant was absolutely fantastic, flaky and delicious. The eclair was good, and the lemon tart was just okay. So, a mixed bag, but some definite highlights. Look, I'd probably go back, especially for that honey butter latte and another almond croissant. However, be prepared for the price tag. My family dropped around $40 for a few coffees and pastries. Yikes! Definitely a spot for a treat, not an everyday habit.

Google
Honey butter Latte iced 5/5 Lives up to his name perfect balance of expresso, sweetness and a little bit of buttery. Would definitely order again. Vanilla bean macaroon 4/5 Flavor was delicious it just didn't taste as light and fresh but was still good. It didn't give old & could be that I ate it cold right from the refrigerator. pistachio Chuck Cookie- 4/5, soft not too sweet pistachio forward with good balance of chocolate. Great treats and friendly staff. Will definitely  visit more. Look forward to trying other things on the menu.

Google
So good! The chocolate bombe with the gold foil ontop is so delicious and feels like a fancy treat for myself! My partner had the macarons and loved them. The strawberry one has some jam in there and not just cream so that was a nice added touch.

Google
My wife introduced me to Pistacia Vera. She spoke highly of the macaroons and how they were so much better than another place she'd previously visited regularly. I finally decided to try it out, and although I didn't have the macaroons, what I did have was excellent. I had the Lemon Tart and the chocolate bombe. It's a small place, and it was very busy when I went. However, the service was quick and friendly, so being temporarily cramped for space wasn't a big issue. They do have outdoor seating, so that's a plus on nice weather days. Overall, my visit to Pistacia Vera was well with it, and I'd recommend everyone try them out.

We’ve been here many times and always a great experience with delicious food/desserts! Today Rebecca went above and beyond with pulling together a last minute order for my daughter’s birthday! We calculated our arrival time incorrectly and she put everything together ahead of time so that we could get our order within minutes of the store closing! A remarkable company with amazing support and care! Thank you so much… ☺️

Google
My husband and I visited here with our friends who grew up in Columbus, OH. I was super impressed with the quality of pastries and coffee. The macarons are to die for! The store is exceptionally clean, well labeled, and the staff greeted us with a smile. It was semi tight on seating but not a bad thing at all as it seems like many people grab and go! I also chatted with the owner who couldn't be anymore kind and caring if she tried! Seriously so lovely. I love supporting a business that goes above and beyond and treats others with kindness. This was a highlight of my trip, and I would frequent here often if I didn't live out of state!

Google
What an amazing place! Our absolute favorite spot for coffee and sweets in Columbus! Interior is very modern, all is nice and renovated. Seating area is outdoors and street is beautiful. All the pastries 🥐 look amazing, and taste delicious 🤤 service was nice friendly and fast!! Super good vibes from this place! we’ll be coming back for more!! oh and coffee latte was delicious 😋 ☕️

Google
The BESTTTTT food, matcha, and coffee I’ve ever had. Literally take all my money because this place was so worth it. Staff was so friendly and the place is so aesthetic and relaxing. Love love love!

Yelp
I've been coming here more consistently over the last month and every time I am very impressed! Some of my favorite items are the pain au chocolate, honey butter latte, and the yogurt bowl. Everything is so fresh! The honey butter latte is addictive, not overly sweet with a little saltiness! The yogurt bowl is also great, I love the addition of the raspberry jam with the fresh fruit. Never time I stop in, I plan to buy a bag of their granola. The shop is so cute, with limited outdoor seating. The staff is always kind and they give great recommendations if you are indecisive.

Yelp
This is top 2 best bakeries coming from a CA girly. My first time visiting Ohio and we came back 3 times in a week. The minimal design showcasing all the fantastic desserts was beautiful. We had the pistachio tart, chocolate bombe & crème brûlée eclair. I DIED! The eclair was our favorite, perfect execution of texture and sweetness. Its a must if you're debating on what to choose. The tart was next fav and chocolate bombe was good but I prefer cake over a mousse. Tried all the seasonal drinks. The honey butter latte was the winner. Staff is professional and friendly. The cherry on top would be if there were more seating inside or outside. Im obsessed with this place and it'll always be a non-negotiable when I visit.

Amy L.

Yelp
Five stars for atmosphere, unique coffee bitterness, and proximity to a better cafe next to the big crowded bookstore. One star for taste, price and lack of any indoor seating at all.

Gabby S.

Yelp
Delicious! We got a chocolate croissant, a raspberry macaroon, and a vanilla iced coffee - all of which were amazing!! The macaroon and croissant so soft and tasteful! The iced coffee was also great! The service was fairly fast, it was busy so expect a line. It a very cute shop, in what looks like it used to be an old home in German Village. It is a bit on the pricier on the side. We really enjoyed this place!

Emily I.

Yelp
Very cute bakery with quality pastries. Favorites include their lemon tart and mushroom quiche - it looks like they change their menu quite often which is awesome if you want to switch it up everytime

Jane G.

Yelp
Small and modern French-style cafe on a main street in German village. Excellent food! They have a quaint patio for outdoor seating.

Danielle D.

Yelp
A must visit when near the German Village. My husband and I were in town for an event and passed by Pistacia Vera. After checking out the menu, we decided to give it a try. We had the almond croissant, pistacio artichoke croissant, and chai, WOW! So delicious! I wish I had a Pistacia Vera in Arizona!!

Bonnie N.

Yelp
Very cute pastries and all delicious. They've also got a nice selection of drinks. Got their chocolate pistachio chunk cookie and pistachio latte along with almond croissants and macarons all of which were very good. They've also got a small selection of cakes. The macaroni set would make a cute gift. They've also got a small selection of flower bouquets which are kind of pricey ($35+) for a small bouquet. Service was friendly. There's a small alley way across the street for free Pistachio Vera parking. A few tables outside to enjoy your pastries and drinks.

Elvira B.

Yelp
Delicious + pricey pastries. Customer svc is iffy depending on the day/person. Parking across street convenient.

Yelp
Take My Breath Café Bakery and café located in Columbus' quaint German Town area. One of the co-owners and pastry chef, Spencer Budros, was once semifinalist (2020) for the James Beard Outstanding Baker award, and they're renowned around Columbus as one of its preeminent bakeries. The Good: *Exceptionally friendly service, which isn't always standard at these fancy type bakeries. *$0 Oat Milk Tax #IYKYK * Elote Croissant was superb and a really unique flavor combo. If you see it--get it! The buttery Croissant layers worked perfectly with the cotija and corn to make a tasty, savory treat. *Pistachio Latte was phenomenal. Smooth as silk, great coffee flavor, and the perfect balance of Pistachio so that you knew it was there but didn't overwhelm. *Cocoa Buttermilk Loaf was exceptionally moist and chocolatey. *Dog-friendly outdoor seating *Great location *Classy décor and ambiance without being overly stuffy. The Meh: *I'm not 100%, but I believe you have to pay for street parking during certain hours. The Ugly: *They're not near my house here in CA... :'( TLDR: Fantastic place to get caffeineted and have some world-class baked goods. Highly recommended!

Lois N.

Yelp
By far best bakery I've been to in Columbus. It's near German village and there are so many pastry options! The people were nice and were happy to explain what was in the pastries. They only offer bostock on the weekends and I was a little skeptical at first because of the orange but it wasn't overpowering and had the right amount of soft and crispy parts. I also tried their chocolate bombe and it was also delicious--very creamy and the thin chocolate layer at the bottom helped create a fun texture! I only wished they had seating inside (the picture with the bostock was taken at a cafe).

Minji K.

Yelp
Pistacia Vera is a cute cafe to go to for any dessert needs or even gift items! They have sweet and savory goodies, as well as coffee, tumblers, and flowers. The pistachio flavored macarons are the best here. You can taste the flavor really well and see bits of nuts in the macaron itself! Their eclairs are also really good- they have multiple flavors! I would recommend the classic one or crème brûlée, which has a layer of hard caramelized sugar on top and is filled with sweet custard. If you want to make sure you get a particular item, you can always reserve it by ordering ahead and picking it up on the shelf. They don't have indoor seating since it's more grab and go, but they have some outdoor seating so you can enjoy some sun while eating! Parking is street parking only.

Aubrie H.

Yelp
Stopped to grab a coffee and some treats. We ordered a regular coffee and a chai latte, both were hot and delicious. We ordered multiple treats, which are beautiful!! Our favorite was the Creme brulee but the lemon tart was amazing as well. Really can't go wrong with anything you order here.

Tyler H.

Yelp
Amazing bakery and pastries. Their lemon tart is unbelievable!!!! Will be coming back! Fast service and beautiful location. Within easy walking distance of everything in German Village.

Beulah S.

Yelp
I would say the food from here is amazing. So far I've only tried the egg salad sandwich in terms of actual heavy food and it was delicious..and neat and pretty! My favorites from here are the kouign amann and all the flavors of their macarons (I'm not normally a big macaron fan but theirs were great!). I wish they have more sandwich options. When they're not too busy, which I feel is rare, the service is fast. However, on weekends it gets really busy so you would expect to get your food more than 15 minutes from when you placed your order. The place is tiny and cute and given how popular this place is, a lot of times people are waiting outside the store. There are a couple of tables outside too, which are a nice hangout.

Q-Tay S.

Yelp
Food: As usual the food was wonderful. Everything fresh and taste delicious. I got something new today, the ham& cheese croissant. It was flaky and light. My only complaint is I would of liked more cheese and ham inside of it. But I ate it all and would def order it again. Service: There was a line but it moved quickly. Everyone was nice and very helpful. Employees talked with me which is always nice when you're somewhere and employees make banter with you. They were also kind and warmed up my croissant as I requested. Ambiance: Beautiful location. Bakery was warm, smelled yummy and was very clean. They also offer you complimentary water. Which is always a plus. My only compliant with the bakery now is seating. As I walked up I noticed many people outside. I almost thought it was too busy inside. However to my surprise everyone is outside b/c they no longer have indoor seating. I've been visiting this location for years well before it became so popular and always loved that I could sit down inside. I was very disappointed I had to sit outside in the cold. And mor disappointed that as it gets colder here in Ohio I'll have to take it to go or eat in my car. I really hope the indoor seating can be brought back or some other option. It would be hard for me to bring my young child with no seating. I have the best memories and pictures w/ my older kids sitting inside on a winter say enjoying brunch, sweets and hot cocoa.

Jocelyn R.

Yelp
Most of the businesses in New York survive because of their location. This place is good but nothing to write home about. We got pastries. Again, good, but Panera bread would have been just as good.

Schyler B.

Yelp
They have the most delicious, light, sweet, delicate deserts, oh my goodness. The creativity that went into each sweet, the care and love you feel with each bite, it's unmatched. Inside and outside in the patio have always been clean and felt welcoming, and whenever I've gone it I've been warmly greeted by whomever is behind the counter. If you're in the mood for a delicious coffee and glorious pastry, definitely come here!

Joe F.

Yelp
Today was my first visit to Pistacia Vera. The cafe has a pleasant atmosphere. Walking in there are display cases for the baked goods. I ordered a croissant for myself and a ham and cheese croissant for my dad. I also ordered a vanilla latte. The workers were friendly and my drink was ready in a couple minutes. The croissant was flaky and delicious. It was crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. The latte also had a pleasant flavor. My biggest gripe is the cafe only offers one small size for the coffee. The price of the small latte is similar to a large at similar places. I recommend swinging by for the baked goods, but for coffee I will seek other places.

Loudon L.

Yelp
Love this place. Seasonal menu has always been tasteful and not over the top. I have ordered many lattes here, none of which have disappointed. My girlfriend often gets a matcha or tea and although I only sample her beverages they are often very tasty as well. She has always seemed to love them. Now I'm a HUGE pastry guy, and love a good sweet or savory treat to accompany my black coffee (the drip is also robust and flavorful) and they always deliver. I have had a palmier, croissant, seasonal croissants, and even macaroons. I have a large pallet, but all have been delightful. I highly suggest others to maybe try something new or branch out if they are comfortable because this place takes pride in what they do. On another note the line typically gets moving fairly quick even on busy mornings. Obviously for a hearty breakfast or slow sit down this is not the place as they only offer outdoor bistro seating. However I love the European vibe this cafe demonstrates and I think that their dining experience is very fitting for the way they operate. You can tell through their pastries and food that they prefer to spend their resources in the kitchen, developing a high end final product for the consumer. I will post more images as I continue to visit.

Ishita R.

Yelp
This cafe is SO cute. I love it. Not giving it 5 stars because I didn't really vibe with my drink. I got the raspberry white chocolate matcha drink--which unfortunately tasted like sour/bitter milk. Three of us in my group got this drink and had the same reaction. The raspberry matcha combo just didn't hit as I expected it to, I wish there was more white chocolate flavoring in it. Besides that, their pastries look great and the vibes are super cute. The baristas were willing to change our drinks too which was great. I'm going to go back for sure before I fly back home to get a box of macarons for my roommates.

Rebecca H.

Yelp
This place is busy!! But they are so efficient. It's super clean and super cute. Lots of outdoor seating. Everything was absolutely delish. Highly recommend making this stop. In fact I think I'll grab another something on the way out of town.

Samyukta R.

Yelp
Amazing pastries and coffee. Tried the pistachio latte and would definitely come back for more!

Sidney T.

Yelp
This was my second visit to Pistacia Vera and it won't be my last. I've tried the lemon tart, chocolate bombe, & macaroons - all of which were 10/10! It can get pretty busy but in my experience the line moves pretty quickly. Lovely space, friendly staff, & efficient service.

Marsha M.

Yelp
Oh my goodness, I'd heard the rumors and finally made my way to Pistacia Vera - chef's kiss! On a weekend there was a quick moving stantioned line to the doorway, and after a couple minutes of eyes darting over all the delicacies, I ordered a berry tart, a hazelnut ganache cake, rose petal shortbread, and of course, an almond croissant. As there isn't much seating inside I took my beautifully packaged items home and had quite a delicious and decadent breakfast. Quality items done right, plain and simple. Cannot wait to return.

Ann S.

Yelp
Excellent pastries! We got a chocolate croissant, an almond croissant, fruit tart and two drinks (iced matcha latte and a cappuccino), all to-go (there is no seating). It was all delicious! The shop is very nice, and all the pastries are drool-worthy. Would definitely come back to try other treats (the chocolate bombe looks intriguing!). There was a line that moved somewhat quickly - you don't feel rushed ordering and they do carefully serve each customer, which you may not appreciate while standing in line but absolutely appreciate when it's your turn and you are standing mesmerized in front of the cases of deliciousness, figuring out what your indulgence will be.

Emily W.

Yelp
The most authentic and pocket friendly French Bakery I've been to in the area. Obsessed with the seasonal tarts!

Mark K.

Yelp
I haven't been here for about 10 years. I had a middling experience last time, and just had no reason to come back, even though I drive by it literally four times a day. But today I needed a little snack, and I was, of course, nearby, and I thought hey, it's time to give them another chance. Maybe they've changed, maybe my tastes have changed. There was a pretty good size line, which is usually a good sign, but this place is always kind of busy, and I was not sure why before and I am still not sure why. The dessert case is filled with beautiful baked goods. The macarons look great. There are other cakes and pastries, etc. I almost got an order of just those. But I got an egg salad sandwich because I like those. And a coffee because I needed that. And a few macarons to see if they were better than I remembered. They are not. People in line were calling them macaroons, and I think that is because they are not really macarons. At least, not really good macarons. Don't get me wrong, they are an okay, pleasant little cookie. But they are not good macarons. The cookies themselves don't have quite the resistance that they should. And the filling is frosting, not the cooked fillings they use in France and at good macaron places here. Now, I'm not a chef, maybe I'm reading that wrong. But they are definitely not great macarons. The coffee was pretty darn good. I got the pistachio latte, since hey, they call themselves by that name. It seemed a little expensive to me even with current day prices. And the egg salad sandwich was very good. But very tiny. And very expensive. Good bread, good egg salad, fresh veggies. A nice flavor combination. But barely more than a few bites. Service was very friendly and efficient. They kept the line moving. After I ordered, I waited about 10 minutes for my food, which seemed a little long, but hey, it's fancy coffee and food. I had hoped to eat upstairs since they seem to have a very nice upstairs dining area, none downstairs, where I think they had had tables 10 years ago. But when I went to actually go up there, there was an imprint on the steps that said it was offices only. Maybe, I don't know, a bigger sign? A rope across the entry so you know you can't go up there? Some inside dining would be nice. They have a little bit of room if they would rearrange things. They do have an outdoor dining area, but you are in Ohio, and eating in the spring sprinkles, with the birds and the bird poop. On metal tables on uneven surfaces. Not a great experience. I ate there for a minute and then finished in the car. Oh, and no trash can outside. Classy. Sorry. This place is overhyped and overpriced. Is it awful? No. No no no. It's just OK, and yet, for some reason people flock here to pay a lot of money for, what? Imitation macarons? That the clientele don't even know what to call? Teenie sandwiches and overpriced coffee? I should've trusted my judgment. I will not be back. There are far better coffee places in town, far better macarons, and bakeries in general. And hey, way way way better sandwich places.

Eric M.

Yelp
Pistacia Vera at this point is a German Village and Columbus staple and has been reviewed to death. Yes it's great. Yea go there. Yes it's pretty dang busy! A lot of reviews I read focus on what is in the nice, brightly-lit display case featuring colorful macrons, cakes, éclairs, and tarts. These delicacies are indeed fantastic and stand on their own. But you know what's really good at Pistacia Vera and blows everything else out of the water? Their almond croissant. Seriously. It's the best croissant that I've ever had, or at least my favorite. Skip the display case with shiny and pretty pastries for the tourists (just kidding) and go for the almond croissant. Powdered sugar, sliced almonds, and perfectly crisp flakes of golden baked goodness make this THE hidden gem that you'll want to try. It also doesn't hurt that you can get multiple items. Why 4 stars? Mostly just because there isn't any indoor seating and honestly while outside is great there seems to be an emphasis (maybe not intentionally) of get you in and out and it's not as much of a hangout spot like perhaps Stauf's down the street is. It's probably warranted given the volume (come by on a nice Thursday morning instead of the weekend if you can) but I'd love to see more of an interior presence that other German Village restaurants and cafes have.

Chloe K.

Yelp
so yumzzz i love this place and chocolate bombe and pistachio feuilletine were 10/10! so unique and i think the service is meh but vibes were nice i just got to-go tho

Julia G.

Yelp
Pistacia Vera is known for their desserts, rightfully so, but do not sleep on the brunch!! This is some of the best brunch food in Columbus. The rye croissant was so unique but absolutely perfect with the smoked salmon, and the quiche is always the fluffiest and creamiest quiche I have ever had. I've never been let down here! Best part is that after brunch you can go and have some amazing sweets too! I recommend the fruit tart- so delicious.

Kate W.

Yelp
Omg I love this place so much!!!! I was visiting Katzingers and noticed the cafe near by and am so glad I tried it out. When you walk in they have an assortment of pastries that all look and smell delicious and the coffee bar close behind. I've had both their pistachio and chai lattes, and while expensive they are absolutely delicious and have many milk alternatives to choose from. I've also tried the crime brûlée and pistachio eclairs which were equally amazing. I recently ordered a chocolate bomb cake for a friend of mines birthday. When I returned the next day to pick it up they had unfortunately lost the order. Someone who had been there the day before recognized me and they quickly grabbed a cake from the back and wrote birthday wishes and even threw in a free latte. They definitely turned an experience that could have been bad into a great one! Cannot recommend this place enough!

Kyle B.

Yelp
As a German Village resident, it's pretty crazy that I'd not been to Pistacia Vera before. I'm moving soon so we decided to rectify that on Saturday morning. The space is beautiful. Lights of great natural light and beautiful indoor plants. The service was very friendly and attentive. I appreciated their advice and insight on the pastries. We got a dozen of the macaroons as a gift. On the pastry front we got the ham and cheese croissant and the Provençal artichoke croissant. They were both delicious. I appreciated the hearty amount of Gruyère in the ham and cheese. The artichoke was a delight. Crusty and soft and salty. I can see why this place is an institution.

Cynthia F.

Yelp
Enjoyed an egg salad on regular croissant sandwich. Skimpy amount of egg salad and not a huge croissant, but they warmed the croissant and it was very tasty. Perfect example of you can't always get what you want, you get what you need. I needed a small sandwich to leave room for the excellent dessert. Loved the pear cranberry almond tart. Perfection. Went well with the iced tea. Extremely clean and lovely restroom. A little high priced but worth it. In the middle of a residential neighborhood; found free street parking 2 blocks away.

Janie S.

Yelp
While many people just jump right to the macarons, please don't! They are delicious, but Pistacia Vera is so much more. Please give yourself time to look over the whole menu, mull it over, and then get a croissant to go with that passionfruit macaron. Sure, your pants may not enjoy it, but you will!

michelle p.

Yelp
Beautiful and delicious French bakery in a historical part of Columbus. I was in for a quick visit, so I looked up this GEM of a place. Sadly, I arrived too late to sit down inside (it closes at 3pm and I arrived at 2:30), but I sampled a variety of sweets (macarons, perfect shortbread cookies, pistachio tart, and a praline layered dessert). Next time, I would come earlier in the morning or better yet...when they open. They also have typical French savory snacks like croque monsieur and quiches.

Kate V.

Yelp
The Yelpers are right, this place is delicious! I'm still dreaming about the quiche. It was busy, but not too busy to get a seat once my food was ready.

Hailey D.

Yelp
WOW! Best matcha ever!!! I got the seasonal rainbow sherbet matcha and it was so so good!! I also got a delicious key lime pie eclair. This place was seriously so delicious I can't believe it.

Morgan S.

Yelp
Love pistachia vera! I come here every year with my mother and everything is delicious. I always get the creme brûlée eclair and an assortment of other pastries. My mother loves the pistachio latte and I'm obsessed with the pumpkin matcha. It's so nice to sit outside and look at the chonky little birds side eyeing us.

Syd W.

Yelp
Service and food was great! I will say there is no seating which I was a bit surprised about. I ordered the quiche and a raspberry macaron and they gave me an extra because it had a crack in it which was very nice. Very good food, loved the quiche!

Merrill C.

Yelp
Love the variety of macarons. Delicious to nibble on any time of the day . If I lived in Central Ohio ... all would be gone daily!

Paige S.

Yelp
No review needed. Just praise. They have been & will always be the goat. Their coffee is outstanding. The goods are outstanding. Nothing beats Pistacia Vera. Get the French onion croissant. Get the Canelle. Get the tarts. Get the lavender cookies. Get the almondine. Get the kouign amann. Get the Bostock. Get it all. I can say I've never had their macarons (gasp!). Only because I'm not a big macron fan. Everything else is so much more attractive to me.

Taliy S.

Yelp
What an amazing place! Our absolute favorite spot for coffee and sweets in Columbus! Interior is very modern, all is nice and renovated. Seating area is outdoors and street is beautiful. All the pastries look amazing, and taste delicious service was nice friendly and fast!! Super good vibes from this place! we'll be coming back for more!! oh and coffee latte was delicious

Shweta S.

Yelp
Wonderful coffee, good pastries. The pistachio eclair is light and the cream was delicious. The croissant was heavier than you would expect but delicious none the less. They follow covid norms for social distancing, touch less ordering and limited capacity. Street parking available as well as a couple of pull in parking slots for online order pick up. I will be back for more pastries!

Stacy R.

Yelp
Very cute place! We had a hard time choosing from the case of dessert items, and everything we got was delicious! There is a nice outdoor seating area, too!

Remi W.

Yelp
Wow! So excellent! We had the seasonal coffee iced and hot and both were so amazing! Such a beautiful shop and great area! Love this and will be back!

John H.

Yelp
The mushroom quiche is delicious. Seating area not so great. I do wish they had more savory options and perhaps will add an egg sandwich option at some point in the future.

Rebecca K.

Yelp
Despite living in Columbus for 2 years, I never made it to PV, although I walked past it plenty of times when exploring German Village. On a recent trip back, I made my husband stop here as soon as we arrived, and man, am I glad we did. PV is perfectly situated in German Village, right on the main drag, but the space is small without indoor seating. They do have some tables outside, which we sat out despite the chilly winter day, and it would be a lovely spot in the warmer months. While it's a small space, the interior is pretty cool - lots of exposed brick and modern facade, showcased by a large glass display case in the middle. We both grabbed lattes, which were standard but hit the spot. I got the pistachio latte, and my husband got the orange cardamon latte, both of which were delightful and not overly sweet - it's not often we treat ourselves to fancy drinks, and this was worth the splurge. For eats, I had to get the almond croissant based on the reviews, and it did NOT disappoint. The croissant itself was incredibly flaky and lined with delicate almonds, but the layer of almond cake in between the croissant layers made it phenomenal. I enjoyed this croissant back in January and I can still taste it on my tongue now in June...a true chef's kiss. My husband went the savory route with the croque monsieur, which he truly enjoyed as well, appreciating the fresh brioche and crispy cheese. We snagged a box of macrons to take back with us to Philly, and even though they sat for quite some time during our travels, they maintained their integrity and were still light and delicious once we arrived home. Overall, PV was an excellent first stop on our return trip to Columbus, and I would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a quick coffee and pastry (gotta get the almond croissant) while strolling around German Village!

Yelp
Located in the historic German Village section of Columbus, Ohio, Pistacaia Vera is in my opinion one of the finest bakeries in Columbus. They are open from 7am-3pm, 7 days a week for eat=in, take away, curbside and delivery. You can order online or visit their clean casual coffee shop atmosphere location.. Two hour free street parking is available. Noted for their classic macarons, beautiful cakes and buttery croissants, Pistacia Vera offers other confections, as well. The day I visited I tried a variety of their confections. The chocolate peanut butter feuiletine was like an ultra Reese's Peanut Butter, $7. The almond croissant was soaked in a light brandy syrup and filled with almond frangipane, $4.50. The star of the show for me was the pistachio cherry chocolate flourless dacquiese, $7, made with layers of cherry mascarphane genache, chocolate genache, pistachio buttercream and almond dacquoise. This is a very popular bakery and they sell out fast on weekends.

Yelp
This place is so cute and perfectly situated in Germantown by the Farmers Market and other shops. I came here twice on my weekend visit and wish it was closer to where I lived. The Blueberry Lemon Taro Tea was phenomenal! It tasted like cereal milk but in a good way. I really should have tried the Strawberry Matcha Tea but I just loved the BLTT to much to change it up. Their pan au chocolate is pretty good. The passion fruit macron was ok and I had a ham and cheese croissant that was also ok. They will heat it up for you which is nice. Overall I had a great experience there. My friends said the coffee was super good. The service was great especially for how busy it was (Saturday/Sunday morning crowds). Literally was waiting outside for a few minutes to get in but it was worth it and we didn't have to wait long.
