Chef Vic Casanova's idea of an Italian style steakhouse presents a rare grown-up white tablecloth restaurant among the casual sit down joints on 3rd. Strong cocktail program, classy ambience. Cooking is inconsistent -- I was part of a party of 4 and my penne pasta was undercooked. Everyone else's pasta was the right texture. Previously, I had been to the chef's other resto, the casual trattoria, Gusto, also on 3rd and the flavors at both tend to be on the strong side -- if you're salt sensitive like me, try the aged beef steak on its own before using any sauce (my medium rare steak didn't need any sauce for flavoring). If I were to go back, I would ask them to go light on the salt due to my personal preferences. However, the people I dined with didn't have an issue with the salt levels.

One of the best dinner experiences in LA. Great looking restaurant perfect for date night or any special occasion. The octopus appetizer, fennel salad, rigatoni alla vodka, gamberoni (shrimp scampi), brussell sprouts, creamy polenta, and filet mignon were all perfect. Really great food. The service was impeccable and do were their drinks. Highly recommended!

Food was great, service excellent. The prices are reasonable. Food reminded me of NY style Italian cooking.
