Pitango Gelato & Coffee, The Wharf

The ice cream flavors are great, the cortado has a superb flavor, I mean, everything was great. The customer service exceptional, David and Veny treat you so great, grrat smiles and attitude. We really liked this place.

Really good. So glad I found this place. They have lots of vegan sorbets, but I wish they had more vegan gelato options like cookies and cream or butter pecan. I had the mango sorbet, which was so good. It honestly tasted like it was made with love. I’m actually not a sorbet person, but I got it on a whim after tasting it. I also got the coconut gelato, which was pretty good. More coconut heavy than I anticipated, but that’s mainly because I don’t get coconut ice cream because I’m looking for the taste of coconut (it’s usually just my vegan alternative to vanilla ice cream.) However I would definitely get it again if it’s the only vegan gelato option on the menu!

Really delicious ice cream!! Gelato texture and taste was the most similar to the one we had in Italy. Best gelato spot in DC :)

A local gelato shop, this location is the newer end of the Wharf near Politics & Prose. It’s a small shop with standing room only and a few outdoor seats. The staff are helpful and let you try as many flavors as you want. The small cup gets you two flavors v. the large which gets you three. I ordered the walnut gelato and the crema one- a winning pair!

Its SOOOO GOOD! Came back for round 2. Grapefruit and mojito flavors are delicious. My friend had black tea and raspberry, which were buss too.

Gelato was good. The hot chocolate was hot but did not taste like chocolate (bonus points however, for alternative milk options). The brownie and banana slices are just fine. Long story short, just stick to gelato.

We went for the Gelato and the Affogato. They are delicious albeit slightly pricey. The affogato espresso plus dark chocolate Gelato is fantastic!

Delicious gelato but the servers are inconsistent with the gelato serving size. We both got large but one server filled one cup full and the other server only partially filled the second cup. It ended up being a small cup serving for the large cup price.

Do you know how you tell good gelato from not so good gelato? Well, all you have to do is walk in and tell whether the gelato is covered. When gelato is mounted over so it's color and look delicious, that's not true gelato. Gelato that has to be covered to keep it cold, is the only way to go. Pitango one of only a few places in DC that has true gelato. And it's worth every bite, delicious! The service is amazing, and outside, eating, looking at the his incredible.

I had a lovely time stopping here for a quick sweet treat before my concert at The Anthem. It's located at a far end of The Wharf and wasn't too busy on a Tuesday evening. My friend who used to live in Baltimore told me her and her mom loved Pitango. She is gluten-free and pretty much all of their gelatos are gluten free. They also had a large selection of dairy-free options too. It's a tiny shop, but there are what feels like over 20 flavors to pick from. The person who was working there was extremely kind and let us try whatever wanted. I tried the dark chocolate and bacio flavors and ended up choosing those as my gelato for the evening. The smallest cup was a regular and came out to able $9 with tip. There was a lot of seating options outside. I'd recommend this spot for a sweet treat.

The staff was so friendly and patient with me and my sister as we decided what we wanted to order. I tried the hazelnut, mango and a few others before deciding to go with the mango gelato. It was so refreshing on a hot summer day. The flavor was bright and deep, I would def stop in again! The price was steep, but it was to be expected considering the brand and location on the wharf.

Quality gelato with unique flavors! I got the creme which is a light cream flavor with a hint of citrus along with the star anise. The star anise was really good! If you're not a fan of licorice though, maybe stay away from this one. Texture overall is great and light. Services was quick. As for seating, it's a small place so there were only three tables with some chairs outside.

The service was very friendly and patient. We tried many flavors before deciding on passion fruit sorbet and cinnamon gelato. Both were delicious. The store was clean and very welcoming. There are tables available outside to enjoy your food. I love that a scoop gives you the option to choose two flavors.

Delicious gelato in a great location! This is my favorite place to grab a quick treat or a pint to go. The staff are all so friendly and the space is small is clean.

This place is kind of at the end of the Wharf and was not as crowded as the bigger, non-local chain desserts nearby. They had a larger than expected non-dairy selection so I ended up with two such flavors in addition to one more conventional gelato flavor. All of them, including and almond nougat creation that was new to me, a bitter chocolate sorbetto, and a kiwi flavor with little fruit pieces, delivered amply on flavor. The price was more eye-watering than mouthwatering. I suppose it's both a premium location and premium quality, but that was a small cup for over $10. As an occasional indulgence, I do recommend it, and given that it's a Baltimore brand whose original location is near the water, there's something appropriate about it being on the wharf.

Wow was I in Italy or something???? This was really good gelato make sure to try my signature flavor GIANDUJA it was simply amazing! Also try the espresso Ice Cream combo that was so creative and delicious.Customer service was off the charts they were super nice and willing to help. Only feedback would be that the brownies could be a lil warmer or it might be my fault because I didn't ask them to heat it up. Regardless I think a warm brownie would an amazing addition to the ice cream!

Walking along the Wharf and spotted this gem so we had to go in. There are so many flavors to choose from and I can't wait to go back and try more. This was such a refreshing treat after devouring some crabs. Tumeric and ginger sorbet may sound weird but it was so delicious and I thank the lovely woman working there for suggesting it. I had it along with the Mojito and all I was missing was the rum. Babe had the Caffe Espresso Gelato and he said it was delicious. I'm not a coffee person so I didn't care for it too much. The place is small inside so it's more of a get it and go place. There are some table and chairs outside as well.

Two of my favorite flavors! I've mentioned on another review of my love for the matcha and milk combination. The matcha and cinnamon flavored gelato scoops paired well together. There are so many flavors to choose from and we appreciated being allowed to taste flavors before deciding which to order. The employees were friendly, helpful and patient. The inside is clean and has an upscale, high quality feel. This is much more of a grown up dessert stop but kids would love the gelato too. I'd love to come back and try out other flavors

Friendly service when I got to the Wharf for a work thing. Great expresso! They have breakfast food too. Croissants and muffins.

Coconut was outstanding and the server expertly juggled dozens of people with good cheer and professional.

No picture because I started eating my sorbet so fast but this place is a great hidden gem along the wharf all the way at the end. Friendly faces greet you upon entry and you're encouraged to sample flavors if desired. We came for gelato but I grabbed sorbet because it was so tangy and hit the spot on a hot day. Passion fruit and strawberry were a great combo! No seating inside but a few small tables outside. Definitely best to grab and eat on your stroll. For the smallest size you get 2 scoops/2 flavors for just under $8. Would love if they offered a smaller + cheaper one scoop option for a post-brunch treat but I still ate it all :)

Love their gelato! Service was great and the outside seating was cute and shady. Perfect spot for a casual summer day!

went to get some sorbet after a heavy meal. Taneeyah (not sure of the spelling) was very sweet and accommodating and made my day.

Excellent gelato. Multiple choices and they taste just like the description. I think knits better than I've had in Italy!

Coffee service closed at 9pm....,? Ok that makes absolutely no sense when this place closes at 11pm. We gotta get better workers in these establishments. Thank God I didn't drive from out of state to try this coffee !! Terrible service.
