The Best Pizza Restaurants in Houston | Eater Houston

"Price: $$ At this BYOB Napoletana-style pizzeria, red and white pies are baked at 900 degrees in the restaurant’s wood-fired oven. Choose your adventure with toppings like Iberico de bellota, prosciutto, and goat cheese, or from the already-established fusions like the fragrant, truffle oil-topped patata y funghi. New York and Detroit-style offerings are available, too, including Pizaro’s special Stuffed Detroit-style pie that’s packed with ricotta, mozzarella, and tomato sauce. Must-try dish: Go sweet and savory with the Mr. Sweet Pea, an ornate assembly of caramelized onions, bell peppers, and Italian sausage." - Brittany Britto Garley

Pizaro Pizza truly delivers when it comes to authentic Neapolitan-style pizza. The pizzas were perfectly baked, with just the right size and an excellent balance of flavor and texture. The crust had that ideal crisp on the outside with a soft, chewy center—exactly what you’d expect from a great Neapolitan pizza. Each bite was rich, tasty, and satisfying. If you’re a fan of real, quality pizza, Oizaro is definitely worth a visit.

Google
Great pizzas, we tried the Napoletana Style Pizza. Very delicious, the service is great. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and offered drinks for the kids so they don’t have to wait for us to look at the menu. It was our first time and definitely coming back. And I forgot to mention they have different styles of pizza. Give them a try!!

Google
First time stopping at this pizza place and it did not disappoint. We will be back again! Upon entering the establishment you can smell the freshness of dough. We order 2 Napoletana style pizza the Roma & the Sweet Pea and enjoyed each one till the last bite.

Google
Absolutely the best pizza I’ve ever had. Wow. The ingredients are fresh!!! What an incredible flavor! Customer service is top notch. Alana is THE BRAND AMBASSADOR for an exceptional first experience. We will be back!! ♥️

Google
This is one of the best pizza places I have tasted in Houston. Their NY style is amazing. pizza crust is just right not too thick and most importantly crispy from the bottom and the crust. Menu is simple and to the point.

Google
We have tried napoletana pizzas in other countries before and decided to eat at Pizaro last weekend. Some reviews say it is overpriced but maybe they don't understand this is not a chain restaurant pizza, ingredients give the value and make the difference and that is why they got a certification for Vera Pizza Napoletana. I will come back!

Google
So, I started following this place back when it started on Memorial Drive. I wasn't a huge fan of the basic Neapolitan pizza because it never filled me up. I'm a pig. lol BUT NOW, They have added a New York and Detroit style pizza, and both are 5 🌟 🤩 especially the New York crust. Dave would be proud! They also offer more toppings on the Neapolitan too. They also have a thin and crispy tavern style but are only available on Tuesdays. Anyway, I have always been a fan, but I'm going here instead of Brothers or Star for my NY pizza fix, and you should, too! Tell em Bobby Rock sent ya!

Google
Nice spot. We came at the lunch rush and there was a big family ahead of us, so it understandably took a little bit to get our food. I shared a Gluten Free Detroit style with my wife and it was pretty good for gluten free. If I get a chance to come back I definitely want to try some of their others.

Yelp
The stars on Yelp do not do justice to the quality of the pizzas! My daughter and I stopped by at Pizaro's for a quick lunch. I was intrigued by the fact that this was a Neapolitan wood oven baked pizza place. The pizzas on the pictures looked authentic and so we decided to give it a shot. I spoke to one of the workers who told me they only use Caputo 00 flour imported from Italy. The flour is a "product of Italy" rather than "made in Italy." This is a big difference for all those who want to eat clean food. That was the first indication of a great pizza. Secondly, we were greeted with a large, wood oven imported from Italy! That also checks my box! Lastly, while the pizzaiola was not originally from Naples, he did study and obtain his certificate from the motherland. Fourthly and totally unexpected, the owner has also received his certificate to make fresh mozzarella and ricotta cheese from Naples. So, all ingredients, including the San Marzano tomatoes, are all fresh! The pizza was delicious just like the one I had in Naples a few years ago. I'll stop by next time I am in town. Thank you!

Yelp
With new pizza spots popping up around town thanks to the Barstool gourmet pizza craze, Pizaro's showed up on the radar. I swung by during a workday for lunch. It's located on the frontage road and has parking readily available. There is inside seating and a very minimal interior in terms of just focusing on seating. You walk in and order at the counter, much like. Torchy's Tacos. Then you grab a drink from the fridge and the staff will bring you your pizza. I got a small Caesar salad ($9) to start and ordered the New York style D.U.M.B.O. (A New York style supreme pizza, $35) and a Napoletana style Iberico Bellota ($31). The Caesar was all iceberg lettuce and the dressing was a bit weak, lacking any anchovy base and missing a good quality homemade sauce. The croutons are good quality but for a $9 small bowl of Caesar, I expected a bit better. The New York style pizza was roughly a large pizza size (comparing to a large size delivery pizza roughly) and the Napoletana style pizza was significantly smaller. The Iberico pizza had a nice gourmet crust with good char. The cheese was a good quality but overall felt a bit lacking for being a whopping $31 pie. The New York style pizza had a decent topping, but I wished the crust was a bit thinner and had a crispier texture owing to the New York/ New Haven style influences. The salad was a bit lacking and I would definitely skip it next time. The pizzas are solid, and comparable to some of the spots that focus on the better ingredients/higher cost bracket style of pies. However, at over $30 per pie, it's a bit hard to justify over some of its peers that serve similar quality pizza for a bit less. Think I didn't quite order the best stuff on the menu after tasting these two specific pies and perhaps I'm missing out by not trying their Detroit style pizza so I'll give it a go next time. With all things considered, a solid 3-3.5 for me, and worth a try to come back and revisit some different pies.

Yelp
We were looking for a place with outdoor seating. You order at the counter and the food is brought to you. My brother ordered a family size vegetarian Detroit style pizza. The dough is delicious and so is the marinara sauce. You are brought plates. But you have to get your drinks, silverware and napkins on the side of the restaurant. They have some bottled and canned refrigerated drinks next to the cashier. My Mom ordered a canoli. She said it was ok. They have a lunch special for about $11. It includes a small pizza. Too bad they don't have pizza by the slice.

Yelp
Easy five star review. If you are craving Detroit style pizza this is definitely a must try! They are not the cheapest in town but you get what you pay for! They are using top notch quality ingredients so in my opinion the price is definitely worth it. Food: the pizza is top notch! The caramelized crust is amazing. Every single bite was great! I will definitely remember this place when I am in the area. They are serving up 3 type of pizzas. So i will definitely have to come back asap to try the others. The customer service team and manager were very friendly as well. Will definitely be back soon.

Yelp
Nice little spot. Not a great deal of seating because it is a small location Tried both the NY style and the Neapolitan style. For having two oven types I was expecting a crispier style of pizza but it really wasn't. The Neapolitan was okay. I think too many toppings took away from the crispness of the crust. The NY style was slightly better but not a traditional margarita style pizza that I am used to. Final bit is way too much basil. It took too much away from the sauce and cheese on the pizza. Being from NY/NJ. These doesn't hit the classic pizza from home but it is good. Little overpriced. Little smaller than expectation. But overall it's fine pizza. Significantly better than any of the chains (papa John, Pizza Hut, Etc.).

Yelp
Won't go back cause they charged me for using my credit card. With robbery on the rise why would a business want more cash on hand. By paying a charge it overrides the bonus I receive for using the credit card.

Yelp
I think these guys have the best pizza in Houston, especially if you like Napoletana style pizza with French toppings and great crust. I seldomly eat here because , frankly , the inside is pretty primitive. I pickup or have delvivered and usually do a margarita pizza with Spanish and double anchovies. They also have some decently priced bottled wine to go if you are lacking in 'pizza wine' at your house.

Yelp
Any place with Napoletana pizza cannot be a bad place. Pizaro's included. They can definitely satisfy any pizza lover, because they also have the Detroit and New York styles. We order a white, a special with bacon, and a margherita pizza. Both tasted exactly great, though I do have 2 notes, the crusts were under-blistered and the margherita had shredded basil rather than whole basil leaves. Overall, pretty consistent with the Pizaro's near Montrose. I would say both locations' pricing is a tad high considering a 12 inch pie. The value isn't quite there, BUT I am keen to come for the lunch special some day, where it's a bit more bang for the buck!

Caitlin S.

Yelp
Pizaro's has successfully ruined all other pizza places for me!! This pizza is absolutely delicious and once you take a bite you don't want to stop! We got two different styles of pizza and both were equally amazing in flavor and authentic to the style of pizza. I have never tasted pizza SO good and fresh. You can tell by the taste that they only use high quality ingredients. I live about 40 minutes away from Pizaro's and 10/10 willing to make the drive again. My family and I will be back!! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Daniel greeted me as I walked in. The shop was clean, well lit, smelling amazing! The decor was interesting to admire while waiting for our pizza Togo. There was a tall cooler with beer and wine by the register, as well as a soda fountain/ fresh brewed tea area. There were also select bottles of wine to enhance the fresh flavors on the pizza. When eating in, I definitely suggest the Napoletana, to get the full experience of Thin and Crispy at 900 degrees. I was afraid it wouldn't hold up well to the 20 minute ride home, so we decided on the New York style with red sauce and homemade mozzarella. We added crimini mushrooms, red onion, Italian sausage, finochetta salami, basil and black olives. All fresh and delicious. Currently they are featuring a pizza with crawfish and white sauce that sounded fabulous. Get it before it's gone! They do have a lunch special: either a 12 inch margarita pizza or a 8 inch margarita pizza with choice of salad for $10.99, Tues thru Friday. This is, by far, is MrM's favorite go to pizza place! Although a little out of the way for us, it's always scrumptious and well worth the drive!

Yelp
Attention all pizza lovers in or going to Houston. This place has it going on. Pizza in three different styles and created wirh mostly ingredients from Italy. It's as close as your going to get to traditional New York or Italian style. Inside restaurant was very clean. Workers and Manager were the friendliest I have ever encountered. These folks love and respect pizza. They took time to explain to my wife the different styles. Showed completed pizza in a presentation. First class treatment. Yes when im in the Houston area, definately will be back.

Yelp
This place is 5 stars! Came here while visiting our son. Sauce is excellent, tangy & sweet. Crust is homemade and not greasy.

Yelp
As I continue my search for true neopolitan pizza in Houston, I saw the yelp pictures and they had the oven that produces my favorite type of pizza. I placed an order over the phone for pick up. We weren't hungry but figured we can save it for later. I ordered 2 white and 1 red. They said the order would be ready in 10-15 minutes. We were 10 minutes away. We walked in and were killed with kindness. I felt like I was walking into a ice cream parlor in the 90s with this type of customer service. It's just so rare nowadays to meet happy workers. I opened the boxes to take pictures and my nose immediately flared up with anticipation. We instantly became hungry that very moment and had a slice of each pie. Prior to the slice, I couldn't help but to notice something very unique. Their to-go packaging was very well thought. They placed the truffle oil in a separate container. They also placed the lemon vinaigrette in a separate container. Lastly, they had the arugula and parmesan in a separate box and bagged it. The pizza was also placed on wax paper instead of directly on the paper box to prevent oil leaking. So now the embarrassing part. Shortly after I took the pictures, I was so confused because I ordered the arugula pie and didn't see arugula on top. We went back in and halfway into the pizzeria, the worker comes walking to us and asked us what was wrong. Then we dropped. The arugula was in the bag in a separate container. Opps! I didn't get a chance to roam since our order was ready but it looked clean at a quick glance. Now onto the pizza. Wow. One bite in. 5 stars right away. This is exactly what I wanted. Chewy crust. Charred edges. Thin center. Flavorful. Light. Great ratio of sauce to dough to toppings. Didn't fall apart when picked up. Absolutely Perfection. Interestingly, I'm a white pie gal and my partner is a red sauce guy. I LOVED the red pie. Their red sauce reminded us of Joe's pizzera in Manhattan, NYC. This pie bought back memories from home. Only downside is I live in the woodlands and it's quite a drive to come here. If it was closer I would probably be here weekly. Pies I ordered: Calabrese, patata e Funghi, arugula

Yelp
New to the Memorial area of Htown and eager to find a solid local spot for pizza take out. Tried Pizaro's and I loved it. Went with the 8-Mile (Detroit Style) and requested it be well done. I ordered on-line which was easy and it was ready on time. The crust is some of the best that I've had - super cheesy on the edges and very crispy. The toppings were of great quality (thick pepperoni for the win) and the sauce, which goes on top with the Detroit style, tasted fresh with great flavor and consistency. Priced a little high at $25+tip for this small specialty pizza but in its defense, its a Detroit style so a small goes a long way and the quality, in this situation, was worth the cheddar. Typical Houston strip mall vibes on the exterior and though the interior isn't exactly posh, it is all clean and neat and exactly what a neighborhood pizza spot should be - functional.

Yelp
I stopped here for lunch with my team on probably one of the most beautiful days of October 2022. it really was a nice day! XD Anyways , immediately the smell of fresh pizza being made hits your nostrils. My sense of smell was flooded with essence of pure pizza perfection. I knew i was in for a treat. I don't mind spending the 24$ on a 16in NY Style Pepperoni Pizza , but damn that's low key a lot but HEY it happened to be the best damn NY slice in Houston. Perfect dough/ crust to die for Sauce was amazing , straight out of the oven glistening between dat cheese mayneee yessirrrr, it was that mesmerizing to me. I have a thing for pizza g , quality is what's going on here people. we also tried the Napoletana Margherita Pizza w/ pepperoni. A whole nother universe. When i tell you that Margherita pizza spoke to me.... Definitely coming back to this spot when i have the time to drive out and i will be having the same thing plus a couple bud lights ;) - Santangelo Balli Gonzales Count on my word. Count on the SLICE.

Yelp
One of the best pizza places I have ever been to! Simple, clean and delicious ingredients. The side salads are super fresh as well. Friendly staff and a great place for families. The restaurant is clean and never too crowded. The tastiest pizza! Love it here!

Yelp
I've been to the other location on Gray and I had the Detroit pizza and that was really good, so that's why I decided to try this location because I really had a craving for pizza. I called in my order and had a few questions, the guy on the phone was really nice, and I picked up my order about 45 minutes later. When they opened the pizza to show me, I was actually surprised to see that's what it looked like.... I immediately said "oh wow there's not a lot of cheese on that" which was weird because I specifically said over the phone "Please give me whichever cheese will cover the pizza the most, I like my pizza really cheesy." I don't think this pizza is worth anywhere near $27???? The dough is really good but I was basically eating bread and sauce on most of my slices... I wouldn't try this place/location again
google avatar

Yelp
tried the pepperoni and it might be the best i've had here in houston so far. as a chicago native its hard to find pizza like home, this was close!

Yelp
We regularly go to Pizarro's, but they are a little pricey. Yhere have been several new pizza places that had recently been written up in the Chronicle, so we tried several. Sadly, after my experiences, I now have a whole lot less trust in the Chronicle when it comes to food. Recently tried: Gold Tooth Tony's- disappointing. They seem to think a lot of cheese makes up for other shortcomings. And it wasn't even very good cheese. We tried Betelgeuse Betelgeuse. The bottom of our pizza was burned, and as we left, we noticed almost everyone's was too. Also, the two cocktails I tried tasted like a punishment. The outside looked like a nice place to hang out, but the food really leaves room for improvement. Lastly, we tried Via 313 ( also advertised as Detroit style pizza). They had only been open a couple of weeks when we tried them, but to even be in the same stratosphere with Pizarro's, they would really have to up their game. So, after all that research, we are back to Pizaro's as our favorite pizza place. Since this is supposed to be a review for Pizaro's I would say the 8 Mile is fabulous and we rarely go there without getting one. But eat it there,,it is much better right out of the oven. The patata y funghi with a fried egg was surprisingly almost everyone's second favorite pizza. I didn't expect to like it, we were just getting it to try something unusual, but it became a favorite. Also, one that you need to eat there, and very quickly after you get it. Do not let this one sit!!! Lastly, I do have one criticism. Don't bother getting salad there. The pricing for the salad is high and it is not their forte. Skip the salad and just enjoy the pizza! You can eat your greens tomorrow!

Yelp
1st time coming here with my Husband and we loved it! The service was friendly and fast. We ordered a salad to start and it was beyond fresh, we also ordered a pizza and it was delicious! Cannolis for dessert and we got their Halloween edition. We will be coming back!

Yelp
This pizza is the best in Memorial, hands down. Best dough, best toppings, ppl will say it's overpriced but you get what you pay for. I'm so glad they're in our area! I haven't tried their Detroit style yet but I want to soon. I haven't eaten inside but they have a good amount of tables and wine and fountain drinks.
google avatar

Yelp
Ordered two pizzas for pick up via curbside. They were hot, fresh, and delicious!!! Will def return.

Christina M.

Yelp
So I hate to give a bad review because they didn't do anything bad per se. We ordered to go since it was a little late and we couldn't get delivery. I appreciate them taking the order and waiting for us to pick up so great customer service. I gave three stars because I didn't particularly like the flavor of the pizza. Crust was fine but I think the tomato sauce threw me off. Kinda vinegary I think, idk but i got a pepperoni and sausage and it didn't really just have the pizza taste I was looking for. It may work for someone else
google avatar

Andy N.

Yelp
Bought kid's 8" cheese pizza for $15 and change with tip, Kind of pricey . It was cooked in woodfired oven , dough was tasty but crust had a gum line ( not fully cooked) . Took away one star for price and one star for gum line. I would eat here on company dime .

Roland R.

Yelp
One of best pizza places in the state let alone in the city. Can't go wrong with any style and always have interesting craft beers to choose from.
google avatar

Eman F.

Yelp
Dear pizza snobs, this is one you must try...they have it all...fresh ingredients, delicious dough, and a variety of great options to choose from...we went to this location, they also have one in Montrose... it's counter service, but then they bring the order to you. I went a little crazy and ordered a lot, and everything was so tasty and delicious...the billy goat was so different, and yet so good...goat cheese, with this spicy honey concoction...I did take of the prosciutto, but I can only imagine how good it is with it. The mushroom and truffle oil, out of this world...I ate it cold the next day, which is when it sealed the deal for me, I love me a cold pizza lol...and my kids loved it too

Twanda B.

Yelp
I understand that the reviews are good. However I paid 40$ for a box nastiness. But 40$ for a half pepperoni and mushroom onion and red pepper. I just tried the red pepper because they don't have green peppers. Ok but 40$ for a stiff sloppy mess!Never again! Plus I just got off a flight and hungry. Wow

Yelp
This is my new favorite pizza place. They have three different styles of pizza here: Neapolitan, New York, and Detroit. We chose the New York style pizza with half Italian sausage and pepperoni. The other half was grilled chicken, Crimini mushrooms, and black olives. To start things off we had the most delicious ranch salad. They make their own Ranch from scratch and it is by far the best ranch dressing you will ever have. Wonderful mix of greens, grape tomatoes, cucumbers, and croutons. Everything was organic and fresh and good for you. The pizza came out in about ten minutes. It was fantastic! Best pizza I've had in years. Crust, sauce, cheese, meats, veggies all wonderful. So good! Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Great location with easy parking. We're going back to try the watermelon salad and the chicken piccata pizza. Can't wait.

Ron S.

Yelp
Always flavorful, fresh ingredients. Weekday 8 inch pizza and small salad was perfect as not overeat or feel bloated when go back to work to finish out rest of workday (sleepy) Good price value
google avatar

Cirwan S.

Yelp
I'm more of a quantity over quality guy because I'm a bigger guy. When you but into one of their pizzas all you taste is quality. You can tell they use the best ingredients because they are that good! I finished a whole pizza by myself because the quality was so rich! Staff was super duper nice and the restaurant was clean so that's always a plus !
google avatar

J W.

Yelp
Way too expensive for the quality of the pizza. Got a large Detroit style with pepperoni and sausage. Over $34. Paid $5 alone for about 10 slices of pepperoni you could bare tell was there. The bread was too airy and fluffy. The sauce was OK. The cheese was pretty good and had a good burnt crust around the edge. The only really good paper was the sausage. I usually hate to give another restaurant's name in a review but you could get two 8-corner pizzas from Jet's for $34 and it is way better. The only reason I gave it three stars is the NY pizza looked pretty good (wish I had gotten that) and I hate to completely hammer a place on just one type of meal. It wasn't bad, just not at all worth that kind of money.
google avatar

Yaniv B.

Yelp
Pizza is as amazing as always! I had the special which was a play on Mexican street corn, and my wife got the potato and mushroom pizza. The dough is literally my definition of perfect, the toppings were all fresh and delightfully paired together. I wish I could make pizza this good.. which they do offer classes for. I fully intend to take them up on their offer and hope to learn more myself!

Yelp
Really "Good Eats"!! NYC Style of Pizza choices and selections.... Traditional open front type of eatery, where you order and pay ahead of time. You seat yourself and take a number plus get your own drinks and utensils etc.etc This place is located right next to Subway, so pretty easy to find in this strip center. Friendly staff members and they made it easy to make a choice of which Pizza to order. Cooked to order and came out pretty fast....."Hot Pizza Pie" ready to eat!! Very, very tasty and well done. Great flavors and authentic Italian cuisine...from one of the 5 Burroughs of NY!! Forgot about it..... Kinda small but Mighty Good Flavors Plenty of parking and some New York themed decorations around the joint. Wall of photos and Culinary Certificates of Italian Cuisine Endeavors is a nice touch!! It needs some Franky or Dean Martin singing in the background to add some atmosphere to this joint along with a deeper menu selection for me to give this a 5 Star!!!

Yelp
To go review... The pizza was decent, but didn't travel as well as I'd liked. Once home, we had to wait a little before we were able to eat, and the crust suffered. Personally, I would probably not order to go again. Wasn't a bad experience, zero leftovers..... got the job done..... I think traditional slices on the extra large would have made it more enjoyable for me, and I didn't seem to notice the sauce much, which is my favorite part of a pizza. I like to order extra sauce (didn't on this order) which would be a challenge with the floppy internal squares I had. I was considering 3 stars based on take out food experience, but the staff was friendly on the phone and when I came in to pick up my order. The restaurant was also inviting. Nice decor, clean looking, and it seemed to have a great ambiance. The benches are comfortable in the waiting area, which is nice, compared to sitting at a dining table or at the bar. If I get the chance, I want try them out for a sit down meal, so I can experience their service, and a pie straight out of the oven, unadulterated by a cardboard box and time. In my opinion, a first timer wanting to try this restaurant should probably try eating at the venue first.
google avatar

Charles H.

Yelp
I really want to like this place because they offer Detroit-style pizza as an option. For a small size, it was about $19. (It's big enough to feed two). However, I don't think it was cooked quite hot enough. The crust was still a pale white. I'll try it again, if I'm in the neighborhood.

Yelp
There's been a lot of hype over the past few years about Pizaro's Pizza and their being the only Houston Pizza Joint with a certification from the "Verace Pizza Napoletana" organization. I've wanted to give them a try for a few years and last night decide to order their curbside pickup and travel a little farther than I'd like to finally see what they were all about. I ordered my pizzas at 4:00 PM on their website for pickup at 6:30 PM, wanting to make sure I could get in before the Friday night rush. Order Details: Estimated Curbside Time Fri, Dec - 18, 2020 at 6:30 PM. Order Number: R9157 1 Cheese $13.00 Pepperoni $2.00 Black Olive $2.00 1 Salsiccia e Funghi $18.00 Subtotal $35.00 Tax $2.89 Total $37.89 Kinda pricey for 12" Pizzas, but I had to see what the charm and fascination was with this "Napoletana" hype. I arrived at 6:25 PM and sat in my car waiting for my "curbside" delivery, finally about 6:40 PM I got out of my car and went inside to see what was holding things up. At the counter they asked if they could help and I told them I had a CURBSIDE order to pickup at 6:30 PM and thought you might be running behind. The guy said, "Let me check in the back to see if your order is ready", and walked away. He came back a couple of minutes later with my pizzas, so I hurried home (less than 10 minutes) to savor my treasures. When I got home, the pizzas were both at room temperature!! Not hot, not even warm, but ROOM TEMPERATURE. We had to "reheat" the pizzas to make them eatable. Now for the pizza review... They had a nice crust, but by now the bottoms were soggy and "heels" were soft. Good flavor on both pizzas, but as you can see in the photos, the topping were SPARSE. Made for a fun game of "find the mushrooms". Best part of the pizzas was the cheese, very nice mozzarella. At $17 and $18 for a 12" pizza, I expected them to have ample toppings, which they didn't. But by now I had a bid of a tainted view based on being served cold pizza so it was hard to give them any better than two stars. Not sure I'll give Pizaros's a second chance based on this first experience. We usually go to Ciro's or George's Pastaria for "non-chain" fast food pizza; and both are a much better value with ample toppings.

Yelp
I wouldn't mind paying $30 for a small pizza....if it's actually good. I picked up my order on time and when I got home a few minutes later the 12" pizza was cold and soggy. They also forgot to put chicken on my chicken caesar salad so I had to go back. $44 for a weak 12" pizza and small caesar salad (with tax & tip).

Yelp
For those who are wondering why their price is more expensive than other places First Pizaro's "Verace Pizza Napoletana" that mean they have to follow a strict guideline to making their pizza One example is they have to use special Italian type 00 flour. You can taste the difference. One of my favorite pie they have is Patata e Funghi, potato and mushroom. Other than Napoletana style pizza they now have Detroit and New York.

Yelp
Yesterday I called in an order and quickly realized I made a mistake. I tried to call back but they put me on hold so I could not switch my order. When I arrived I asked why I couldn't switch (100% my fault) and the manager made the pizza I originally wanted free of charge and gave me a free drink while I waited. I cannot stress how great the customer service was even though they were not in the wrong. The pizza is great and they even gave me both pizzas. 5/5 stars and I recommend this spot anytime someone asks for great pizza.

Yelp
Stopped in with my husband for a quick dinner. We shared a small Margherita pizza and a small Motown pizza. Very delicious. Margherita was wonderful, would have like a bit more cheese on it but will request that next time. First time having a Detroit style pizza. The Motown was flavorful and filling.

Yelp
I got the Detroit style pizza and it was sooooo good, the crust was thick soft and crunchy on the outside I love this place so much. I will be coming back!

Yelp
I heard a lot of good things about Pizaro's. My cousin told me about this place. He was a regular at the Grey Street location when he use to live in Houston. Both of us being from Pennsylvania, he said the pizza tasted like the pizzas were grew up eating. NO, I'm NOT talking about Papa John's or Domino's. Real pizza made from Mom and Pops pizzerias around Jersey and Pennsylvania. I got a Detroit style pizza and enjoyed it. I ordered the crust stuffed with the meats. It was flavorful and reminded me of certain artisan brick oven in Center City Philly. The Caesar salad was good for the most part if the dressing wasn't too garlicy. Other than that, I will check out the Grey Street location and get the NY Style. They're a couple of places that claim to make NY Style pizza. They look the part but DON'T taste it. One place in particular has several locations saying NY pizza in their name. I can say No WAY!! Not Even Close!! All I will say is their name begins with an R, One can take it from there. That said, Pizaro's makes descent Detroit pizza so I'd bet my last dollar their NY Style is good. They've been voted as the best pizza in Houston. I don't disagree but can't strongly agree. I will say they do make good pizza. My first choice is Brothers' but Pizaro's is definitely a Strong Second!!

Yelp
Very disappointed. We have been avid and long time fans of Pizaro's pizza from the neapolitan to the Detroit style. We ordered a large NY style pizza this afternoon and it was by far subpar and very limited in the number of pepperoni slices. Some of the slices only had 1 cupping pepperoni! I called to let them know and it seemed that customer satisfaction is also subpar. Their attitude was almost like "it is what it is". For the price of this pie and the restaurant's reputation I expected a lot more. Sorry Pizaro's you just lost a long time customer. Luckily Grimaldis is close by!

Yelp
This is a pretty solid pizza spot. It's great how they display explanations of New York vs. Detroit vs. Neapolitan style pizzas. However, the pizza is on the pricier side. We tried 2 Neapolitans - Margherita and the potatoes with mushrooms. High quality ingredients, the sauce tasted good. However, the crust was not quite there in consistency. There should have been a bit more of a crunch or perhaps a slightly thicker crust. Definitely some of the better Neapolitan I've had in Houston, but misses the mark compared to authentic Neapolitan I've had in Italy. Detroit style - Got this with the spicy sopressata. Great color on the crust, the sauce on top was good, and not too greasy. They missed the mark on toppings, the toppings were so scarce it looked like a cheese pizza.
