"If you know the story behind the Nobel Peace Prize, then you know that the award was created by the Swedish inventor Alfred Nobel, at least in part to make up for the fact that he was the guy who came up with the idea for dynamite. Encouraging peaceful endeavors was his way of putting some karmic balance back into the world after putting something that could be used for violence into it. What does that have to do with this restaurant review? Pizza Beach is our dynamite. This new Upper East Side restaurant is basically an indirect result of the current Instagram food culture that we have so proudly helped create, and now we're here to apologize for it. Not because we regret building massive community around a hashtag called #EEEEEATS - but we're sorry that there have been unintended consequences. You see, Pizza Beach, a trendy new spot on the Upper East Side, is not good. The food is mediocre at best, the service is spotty, and the place has about twice as many tables as the square footage should comfortably allow. But the style and aesthetic of this restaurant are so perfectly targeted to the food porn generation that the mostly post-college clientele couldn't care less about any of those things. This place is absolutely packed every day with people who are too busy posting a photo to notice. Now, we are obviously not accountable for the things that come out of Pizza Beach's kitchen, and we are certainly not claiming responsibility for creating the kind of person that values followers over food quality - The Infatuation audience is much more discerning than that. But, much like Sir Nobel, we do feel the need to take action. That's why we're creating the #PizzaPeacePrize. Take a picture of a pie that actually tastes good, even though it's not pretty, and we'll repost the best one on @infatuation. We aren't going to start telling people to stop Instagramming what they eat, but we can try to put some balance back into the world. One decent pizza at a time. Food Rundown Meatballs Much like Pizza Beach itself, these meatballs are pretty but don't bring much to the table in terms of taste. More sauce please, and more...taste. Margherita Pizza Our main problem with the pizza at Pizza Beach is the dough. It's got a strange bitterness to it and not the good kind of bitterness you get from charred crust (you won't find much of that). Also, the sauce. And the cheese. The basil is pretty good though. Pappardelle With Shortrib Ragu Our server insisted we order this pasta on one of our visits, and we really wish we hadn't. The noodles were too thick and stuck together, and the ragu lacked flavor. Not worth the $20. Spicy Soppresattta This is basically a copy of the famous Motorino pizza, and a poor one at that. It's not spicy enough. Roasted Beets & Goat Cheese If you randomly made me name two things that I absolutely do not want on pizza, it would be beets and goat cheese. Save it for a salad." - Chris Stang

Great seating and atmosphere. Pizza was very tasty and fresh. Only complaint was the service. We got seated, ordered drinks and was forgotten about for the rest of the night. I had to find a bus boy to find my waitress so I could order pizza.

Short story here, So I'm not the one who went to Pizza Beach, my girlfriend did. I'm the one writing this because she's not one to write a bad review. So she went there for a birthday party with 11 other people. Being the amazing person she is, she offered to bring the cake. I helped slightly to make it and she ended up bringing a big beautiful red velvet cake. When they were there she gave the cake to one of the waitresses to cut into 12 pieces. They each got a piece but the slices were noticeably thin. She was skeptical that she got her whole cake so she asked. The waitress responded that it was the whole cake. She didn't buy it, I didn't buy it either. Today we made a cake using the same exact 9-inch pan and therefore was the same size. We drew twelve slices as shown in the picture and clearly the slices were twice as big if not more. The recipe said that it serves 18 people, yet at the restaurant it barely served 12. They definitely stole half of her cake and that is not acceptable, hence the bad review.

Fun place Downtown to spend some quality time with friends. The staff is really friendly and helpful and there are a lot of pizza and drinks options. It can be a little overpriced, but for once in a while is worth it. Edit: sorry for the quality of the pictures, is just so you can see the atmosphere of the place :)

Brunch here on the weekend is more lunch and less brunch. Expect your typical lunch and dinner foods (pizza AND non pizza items) if you’re planning to dine here for brunch. With that said, the pizza is still great with a lot of unique options available. My favorite is the Santa Monica with chipotle beef, queso fresco, jalapeños and radishes. This place has a nice atmosphere and is very accommodating for large groups if you’re looking to eat with a crowd.

My first visit to this place was this Easter. I was very impressed with the vibe of this place . It has a Hawaiian beach kind of vibe, every sales associate was dressed in those tropical shirts. Interior is very beautiful and rustic. We ordered the Santa Monica pizza and the burrata. The pizza was really good, loved it, came in 6 pieces. The burrata was good too. We had a really great lunch there and was provided with good customer service. For instagrammers, this is a cool spot for great indoor photos. Their bar is very pretty too. I’d love to visit the other location some time soon as well. #LetsGuide

Food and service was great. Good selection of pizza and drinks. We went on a Sunday evening so not too busy. Saturday there was crazy busy and could hear the music and people from a distance. Great location with tons of other shops and not too far from the subway.

Street was pretty much blocked off from traffic so a lot of outside seating available right now. Brussel salad was really small for $14 but the Daytona pizza and meatballs were good.

Food was incredible. I had the Cubano pizza and the Fennel Asparagus plate and both were fantastic. The only problem was that our server left midway through our meal and after ~40 mins of not seeing her we had to approach another server to request our check.
