This was the best food I have eaten in a while. What a treat. The managers even came around and interacted with the customers. Very nice and the cost for two people was reasonable 😄

One thing for sure about this place you won't say that their food was lukewarm or cold. All of the entrees came out piping hot which I love. The calamari was fried to perfection and the taste was great. Now the Chicken and shrimp fettuccine alfredo did not satisfy me for the taste the seasonings were just not there to make this dish rating even a 4. But overall the bartender gave great customer service he was very attentive and I really appreciate that type of service when visiting a new restaurant.

I ordered the salmon bow tie pasta. I have had it before and it’s generally pretty good but today the restaurant put entirely too much salt so much that I was not able to even eat it. The salt was like the box had fallen inside of the pasta. I didn’t end up eating it, but had to throw it away, I tried to notify the restaurant but they were already closed, since I picked my order close to closing.

I ordered the spaghetti with the meat sauce and also I ordered the Buffalo strips with fries. The fries were no good and I do have pictures show. But spaghetti and the chicken strips were okay. Spaghetti as good as always and the chicken strips were okay. need to stop that your food is always fresh. When you are in the restaurant the food is supposed to be fresh. But that depends on who the cooks are. When you order or do a delivery the food is not the same.if the cooks see that is delivery the food is usually burn. Under or over cook.

Can’t say enough good things about this place & I am a harsh reviewer. I am a miserable nit picky grouch who’s never happy with anything since my husband cheated on me BUT… this piece of heaven seems to make life bearable. The eggplant Parmesan with a pina colada & tiramisu is my usual & it’s CONSISTENTLY FABULOUS! 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆 I love the intimate chatter from the other tables around & the wait staff take their roles seriously. I tip no less than $50 these days & I plan to return soon to take the eggplant sandwich for a test drive! The menu choices are excellent & well laid out. The wine selection is respectable. The carry out option is equally high quality. They really bring competition to their place in the restaurant industry! I ordered pasta frutti di Mare and I do not regret as the food was pretty good and tasty. High quality ingredients (calamari, mussels and king shrimps). I would recommend only to keep all duties of refilling olivas bottles in the kitchen and not in from of the costumers. It does not look professional.

Pizza Capri has a great deep dish pizza and cocktails! I went here with friends who had never tried it before. Their red sauce is fresh, and the way they cook it leaves the top of the pizza crispy, which has not been my experience with other deep dish places. This unique twist was an improvement to the texture of the pizza. The cocktails were tasty and resonably priced. I would highly recommend this place.

The one thing that I love to eat here at Pizza Capri is their potato soup. It is excellent and yes they give you a delicious warm bread and butter. It is about to get cold here in Chicago but this soup will satisfy and warm you up. A delicious comfort food.

This was a delicious meal with absolutely HUGE portions!! Even though we got the "small" pasta size, it was enough to last 2 meals!! First, we were started off with a complimentary sourdough like bread that was incredibly soft on the inside. This was paired with herb infused olive oil. We got the tri colored tortellini, which was marinated in a beautiful creamy basil sauce and coated deliciously. They were so generous with the chicken!! The chicken scallopini picatta was also delicious with a lemon caper sauce and very tender chicken breasts. Loved the angel hair pasta it was served with! We were seated immediately on a weekday lunch with plenty of seats to spare. Our server was friendly and helped explain the menu. Highly recommend!!

Huge portions sizes! We tried their deep dish pizza. I've never had it before, so I really enjoyed it! I had nothing to compare it to, but my friend, who's local also really enjoyed it, so I would say it was a solid deep dish! They serve bread, and oregano olive oil as a starter. The service was great, and it seemed like the server was reading our mind. He brought us everything before we could even ask - even down to chilli flakes, more water. Very attentive staff and an overall great experience :)

Great old style restaurant in Hyde Park. The service was good, and the food was delicious. We regularly go out in Hyde Park and this is a favorite for a quick bite or a full dinner.

This is a required visit each time that I come home to visit from SoFlo. The food is always the same, and the faces are smiling at every visit. I love this place. I love the fruits di marre, the pizza, the ambiance.I love the energy. My son compares pizza to his pizza here. There's no competition. No matter how many new buildings come up, this place is still old Hyde Park where you receive a warm welcome and neighborhood love. Whether it's the servers or takeouts, they take good care of us. Jennifer even spread a little love and dropped off a cookie for my son during the wait. It's the little things.

Delicious! Fun atmosphere. Warning, do not get the large pasta. It could feed 3-4 people! We tried pasta dishes this trip-pizza next. I will definitely be back. Wait staff very knowledgeable and professional.

Very comparable to Giordanos - nice flakey crust. Deep dish 1/2 feta cheese, pineapple, dried tomatoes (other 1/2 cheese) delicious-sweet sauce-service was quick for the last order. Not rushed-just right. Go grab a bite

I have been coming to pizza capri for about 20 years. Today would be the only day that I can remember receiving bad service and food. Javier was my server. I came alone for lunch and had the tequila lime chicken. The sauce was so salty, it was almost inedible. My server never once checked on me, not once, so I didn't have a chance to tell him how salty my meal was. So I just ate and drank water. The older gentleman pouring water is so nice and attentive, every time I have seen him he has been this way. Finally, Javier came to my table and handed me the bill. He did not ask how everything was for me. He didn't even ask if I wanted dessert or anything else. Such a disappointing experience.

One of my go to's for decades. The BEST Caesar salad I've had in the Chicagoland area. The creamy garlic shrimp is amazing. I often add spinach to it. It's a garlic lovers dream. Dine in service is always incredible. Carry out has occasionally been a little impersonal but no biggie. All ingredients are fresh and delicious EVERY SINGLE TIME!!!

Pizza Capri really surprised me! This is my second visit, my first being a couple years ago and this time I had the Cherry Tomato Salmon and it was delicious! The lemon caper sauce was the star, the spinach was delicious; firm, garlicky and not over cooked. The salmon was perfectly medium as I requested. The leftovers are great the next day and the French bread is sooo good! You won a customer!

The service is excellent! I enjoyed the fried calamari and a side order of hummus. Delicious menu and a favorite.

The best pasta and the only place I order pasta from now. My favorite is the tequila lime chicken. It's a must try.

I absolutely love this place, eggplant farfalle has been my favorite for almost 2 decades!! I am so glad they have a bar now and their salads are incredible. This is my favorite place for pasta dishes!!

Service was great. I had a taste for the bread and oil and could have bathed in it lol but my chicken avocado salad was DELICIOUS. Ambiance was pleasant as well because it's an intimate place to grab food.

If I can give this restaurant zero stars, I would after many years of coming here, the quality of the food as fallen severely. I ordering a chicken avocado salad 3-5 times a week now I wouldn't even spend my last here. It seems like management doesn't even care about the quality of food they're putting out. I do not recommend you take out or order delivery. The pasta is overrated, the appetizers disgusting, the pizza is mediocre and the salad is just brown old hard day old chicken. There's a continuous problem with the food and no one's doing anything about it so if you don't wanna get food poison, don't come here.

Ordered the chicken Alfredo add shrimp! Food was old!!! Also NO SHRIMP! called the restaurant to rectify the situation the manager and the young idiot at the front were of no help in this economy. Nobody should have to fight for you make an order when all the instructions were there for you to follow! it right the first time, on top of it the food is old will never order or step foot and pizza Capri again Management is horrible incompetent along with the unprofessional staff!

HORRIBLE horrible horrible. First of all let me say that I have been a customer for the last five years. The food and atmosphere used to be so wonderful but the last year or two has been mediocre at best. The food quality has gone down, the quality of the dining experience is low (with dirty tables everywhere, dirty dishes, an absolutely horrific bathroom, and staff that look like they don't want to be there)... but tonight is the straw that broke the camels back.... I ordered a dish on DoorDash and thought that I had added a request in the notes section. I had not, which was totally my fault but I called to see if they could accommodate my request anyway. I was meant on the phone with just about the rudest most low class woman I've ever spoken to in a professional setting... I was in the process of telling her what happened and she kept cutting me off to argue and yell. I was so confused as to why she was angry so I told her that I didn't call her to argue and that I needed her to just hear what I was saying so that she could understand the full scope of my question. She put me on hold quickly and then put a manager on the phone who mimicked her same nasty attitude and horrible disposition. It was so disappointing that I called back to speak with the manager again and told him that I didn't appreciate the nastiness and that they had lost a customer... He said absolutely nothing as if it didn't even matter. Well I hope it doesn't because I will NEVER GO TO OR ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN!!! The idea that you think it's appropriate to yell at people or be nasty because of a simple question is ridiculous...these times are hard and people are hurting and if I wanna treat myself and my family to a night out to dinner I don't wanna have to argue through your mediocre food in your nasty staff to do it. there are too many great restaurants in Chicago with wonderful customer service to deal with them...

This has been one of my top favorite restaurants since I was a child coming here with my grandmother! The food is ALWAYS delicious , the service is amazing! My favorite dish is the Lucky Ginger Chicken Linguine . Pizza Capri is the only restaurant that serves this dish and it's always as delicious as the very first time I ever ate it.

Friday after work vibes lead me to the infamous Hyde Park community. Parking,...what was I thinking? Anyway I was lucky enough to find a park about 3 blocks away from Pizza Capri. Finally, I'm ordering the pizza!!! I don't know the ingredients in it but it's additive. We ordered a medium pizza and a couple of margaritas and we ate the whole thing!!! It was served hot and gooey, topped with parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes. We were served bread and butter when we first sat down. Don't use the butter that is served with the bread, opt for the garlic olive oil and top it off with the table parmesan cheese, very delicious! You're gonna love it too!! The service here is always good from being greeted at the front door to constant attention while dining in. Now I remember why I drive to this congested community. It's always for one of the many good restaurants.

I came here for lunch while in Chicago and they have decent pasta. I got the spicy shrimp linguini and it was very good. The sauce wasn't too tangy and had a tiny kick. The portion size was just right so that the past doesn't get tiring. I would definitely visit again when I'm back in Chicago!

We ordered calamari and it was really tasty. We also tried a medium sausage and mushroom stuffed pizza that took about 35 minutes to be brought out. It was fantastic! Husband enjoyed his Mexican Mule drink that is made with Tequila and I chose Pino Grigio.. get the bottle it's worth the price. Tiramisu for dessert was just what we both needed and it had the perfect amount of sweetness. Service was excellent! I noticed brunch items on the menu and the waiter informed me that mimosas are also available during brunch.. We will be returning soon to try the brunch! The atmosphere is warm and inviting with twinkling lights in the dining area. Great all around!

Busy Hyde Park location. Food comes out fast. We may have waited 10m for two entrees. Complimentary bread was very delicious. Tequila lime chicken SUPERB it had tons of flavor. Generous portions. It tasted more Asian than Italian almost like pepper steak. Get this! Creamy garlic chicken fettucine. It was decent not as flavorful. The chicken was a bit dry. I added a side of two meatballs which were excellent. The marinara sauce was superb. Wait staff was very attentive he was smiling and seemed happy to work there. He even offered my guest extra bread to go. I loved how quick the service was w/o compromising the quality of food. I would go again and try the pizza!

Great service and the eggplant was fabulous! Loved the fact that you could talk and hear each other. Not crazy loud music. Delicious food!

Nice ambience. Family oriented. A couple different rooms for dining. Pizza is not bad. Great chicken, avocado salad. Their burger and fries are pretty good. Unfortunately, every time I've eaten their pasta, it tastes processed. Which it probably is. I've only eaten in the restaurant a couple times, but like that they have outdoor seating in the warm months. Wait staff is pretty friendly.

The food was exquisite and very filling. The service was made up of very nice people and they allowed our dog to dine with us outside. The ambiance was extremely wonderful

I got some pizza for takeout - the 4 cheese and veggie twist. These pizzas contrast your usual Chicago style pizza as they offer a crispy thin crust. The four cheese pizza was topped with lots of cheese, tomatoes, and basil. The veggie twist was topped with broccoli, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes, spinach, mozzarella, and more! Between the two I liked the four cheese more personally but both were yummy!

I loved the feel of this old town restaurant that serves pizza as well as other Italian dishes AND American food. I believe in the old saying, "when in Rome, do as the Romans do", however my shrimp linguine dish was FLAVORLESS! I don't recall the last time I had a meal THAT horrible! I even asked the waitress to have the chef add a lil kick to it. Sad to say, it didn't help a bit. It was STILL horrible. The shrimp was ok...overall everything was BLAND. I was highly disappointed. The best part of the meal was the bread, olive oil and oregano. The establishment itself was cute & quaint and there were plenty of customers who seemed to have selected other menu items and not Italian (I can see why). My cousin ordered a spicy shrimp dish with linguine and hers was so spicy it wasn't edible. It was unbelievable that our meals were so bad because my expectation is: if you mess up anything it shouldn't be what your specialty is. Go figure! Let's suffice it to say that if you try this place, stick with other dishes OR order Italian at YOUR OWN Risk!

Food was good. Drinks were good but that bill was a bit expensive at the end of the day myself and my friend our bill was 150$ We both had an entrée and one drink and one appetizer.

Went for a quick late night snack with friends and the service was great with good seating! The food was decent; i absolutely loved the mozzarella sticks, but the tiramisu was not good. I absolutely love tiramisu and get it everywhere, but the one here just didn't taste like tiramisu and we had to leave it. Other than that, the appetizers were good, but I'll have to update my review after I try some pastas!

Food was average and place was clean and presentable. Salad could have been fresher and meatball sandwiches had good flavor but not to temperature. Service was very good, and prices average for Hyde Park. Just not the place you crave.

My First Time Eating There And It Was Delicious And Fresh, I Haven't Had Chicago Style In Awhile!

I had a bad first impression of Pizza Capri, but I eventually fell in love with it over the years. Why did I have a bad first impression of Capri? 1) Relatively expensive food at Hyde Park - Compared to Giordano's and Edwardo's, Pizza Capri's pizzas are relatively expensive. 2) Association with food delivery - Pizza Capri often delivers food to nearby schools. This delivery image has caused me to never stop by Capri for years until a friend invited me there for dinner. 3) Slow in-house service - During busy hours, Pizza Capri can take at least forty minutes to serve the food. Why did I fall in love with Capri eventually? 1) Consistent food quality - The food at Capri has always been fresh. My favorite dish is the mixed baby green salad, which has strawberries, pecans, cranberries and spinach. I also adore the spinach salad, which has figs, goat cheese, pecans and spinach. 2) Friendly staff - Although I have arrived at the restaurant before the opening hours, I was welcomed by friendly staff. 3) Fast take-out service - Appetizers and salads are ready for take out in 10 to 15 minutes. Have you fallen in love with Capri yet?

We visited Pizza Capri last week .BTW, up until then it was in our top TEN favorite restaurants Chicago wide. Unfortunately, to our dismay and disappointment, it fell completely off our list. Let's get to it! WE HAD A DEAD ROACH IN OUR ICE WATER!!!!!!! We told and showed management. NOTHING JUST NOTHING! No apologies no shock no surprise NOTHING! They rectified this issue by proceeding to pour us more water.... They are as dead to me as that ROACH! THE END!

The manager, GEORGE, who refused to give his last name is very rude and unprofessional. He definitely needs customer service training. He could care less about any issues or problems that you might have with your food order. I will never order anything from this place again

Coming here for dinner for the first time felt like entering a somewhat alternate universe. A guy went around to each table and happily grunted and muttered some words to each table, but neither of us could identify a language in his words. A man outside was hiding behind a post, taking photos of a young couple at another table when they weren't looking. Something felt off here, but perhaps it was just the night. But even so, we had a good dinner. We got the lemon and roasted chicken thin crust pizza. It tasted okay, but the ingredients tasted of a somewhat lower quality (perhaps the lemons weren't fresh lemons?). I salute them for the creative pizza! I was not into the crust - tasted a lot of baking soda and lots of sugar; it was almost like a cookie. But, my husband really liked it! So I would give a 3.5 overall for the food, and I'll give them the benefit of the doubt (a 4) until I try something else. The drinks were a heavy pour, it took me a while to get through my martini! I'd be curious to try this place again, but don't have particularly high hopes. Hope it is a bit less spooky next time!

A gem in Hyde Park on 53rd. Pizza Capri gives a diverse array of Italian & Fusion dishes. Outdoor seating is a plus in this beautiful lakefront Chicago neighborhood!!!

Great atmosphere, great service and delicious pasta!! Definitely recommend the spaghetti and the mostaccioli (pizza in pasta form!), they were both absolutely delicious.

Either they got some funny business going on or they're too cheap to update and reprint their menus. Either way it's not cool. Went in and ordered a medium thin crust chicago style pizza. Menu says $13, cashier ring me up for $14. I ask her why does my receipt say $14 and she say "the price in the menu is wrong, it's $14 for a medium" Uuuhm excuse me for one don't you think you should inform the customer of this "before" you just ring them up, especially if you see them looking at the menu to order. For two. How you gonna raise the prices and not adjust your menus to reflect this change? So no good business practice and kinda shady if you ask me. Place remind me of the pizza spot in Bronx Tale that was ran by the mob. Won't be back here.

This Pizza Capri location is the BEST! Max at this location takes excellent care of customers. The service is fast and friendly, food is always delicious and they are extremely accommodating for delivery and large catering orders. I couldn't recommend this place more!

I was highly disappointed in the lack of service, flavor and resolve for my patronage at this place yesterday. Here's what happened: I arrived with my wife to order a chicken paccata for her and a deep dish, personal veggie twist pizza with pineapples for me. I was told to wait 45 minutes for the order to be prepared and agreed because a deep dish should take this long to prepare. 45 minutes later I pick up a traditional pizza that although it looked good, was not the deep dish I ordered or waited for. My wife's paccata was what she expected but I'll talk about taste later. When I attempted to remind the staff of my request, for deep dish vs the traditional pizza I received, I was rudely told that I "read the menu...". Although, this was true; I also asked questions and was led to a bait and switch situation that made me wait/pay for less than I requested. I complained in person and was being led into an argument so I called to complain, on my drive home, and was apologized to / offered to wait another 45 minutes for another pizza. I didn't want to wait till 8pm for their error and was hungry so I declined the offer. The pizza's and paccata's tastes were just ok. I took care of this, for my wife and I, by doctoring up their flavor using our truffle parmesan black garlic seasoning from costco. With this repair we were satiated. However, we shouldn't have had to repair their lack of culinary execution. Therefore, I took three stars away from my evaluation because they lacked service (to fulfill the order I requested), flavor completeness or the resolve to fully satisfy my complaint (they could have advised me to come another time for their correction) . You've been warned and there are higher quality establishments within walking distance of this one.

Pizza Capri is my go to restaurant when I've had a "bad day". I know I'll get a good meal served by friendly people!

I hadn't eaten or ordered from Pizza Capri in twenty years. But their food cannot be forgotten! So several girls and I went for lunch. We got there about noon. I can't remember what the other girls ordered. Think it was a salad and a couple of wraps. I ordered spaghetti and meatballs. We all enjoyed immensely. They have redone the place and it's decorated like a French bistro. The ambiance seems to be working! Every table was taken. The most impressive thing though was the warm attentive care you're given. You feel so welcome and nothing is too much to ask!! Highly recommended!

My Aunt took me here for dinner. I had the tequila lime chicken pasta. It was not good. I didnt care for the taste. My aunt order small personal pizza. She stated it wasnt enjoyable either. The server Amanda waa great. I enjoyed her service. She niticed i didnt really eat my food and asked if I wanted anither dish. I declined and requested the check. I like to try nee spots when I visit cities. U fortunately this play will not get a return visit. I'm sorry Pizza capri but i cannot recommend this place.

Great food. Owner is very kind. Great customer service. I ordered pasta and it was specialized with mushrooms and spinach. Very delicious, will go back for more.

The only thing bad I have to say is that parking is difficult on a Friday. The food and service was really good. I had the Zesty sausage and peppers penne. It was delicious!!! I highly recommend.

Tasty Chicago Pizza! Posted Photos forget review! Here it is... I visited Pizza Capri w/BFF (11/19). We shared a "Chicago Style" Thin Crust Pizza, (Cheese, sausage & onion.) Delicious! Crispy thin buttery crust w/fresh flavorful ingredients. Complementary & tasty bread w/seasoned olive oil started our meal. BFF also enjoyed a Greek Salad. Our cocktails: Lemon Drop & Piña Colada! Worth a return visit for more cocktails/pizza. Wonderfully friendly customer service.

I dined with my friends and everyone enjoyed their salads. I was happy to see the vast variety of salads on the menu. I would like to try the pastas when I visit Hyde Park.

This evening my husband & i ordered a burger with fries and a a chicken avocado salad. Our UberEats driver gets here with only fries..we ask where is the rest of our food? He says this is the only thing the restaurant gave me. I called the restaurant and a you g lady answers, I explained the issue and she says "oop, well you can tell the driver to come back if he still there" i ask to speak to a manager. The manager (a male) gets on the phone and I re-explain the issue he says is the driver still there he only took 1 thing (mind you we didn't order a lot and the bag was big enough to fit ALL items) . I said no the driver is gone can I come pick up the rest of my order? He says no take it up with Uber. 1.why is each person keep asking is the driver still here as if he lives with me or something 2. How did y'all forget my food as an establishment it's your job BEFORE food is given rather delivery/pickup or in house that EVERYTHING is there 3. The fact I have been coming here for years I am appalled at the unprofessionalism and lack of transparency or help at all. I will NEVER come here again. I loss out on my money + being 7 months pregnant and hungry late at night
