Counter-service and community-minded, Pizza Greco blends NY and square Sicilian pies with a few Greek touches. Profiled by the Winston-Salem Journal when it opened, it’s become a go-to for crisp slices and hearty trays.

I am very particular about pizza because once you've had good pizza, just any old pie won't do. I ordered Greco Eggplant with sausage. Delicious! The crust was the perfect combination of crunchy, chewy and not too dense. Loved the fresh quality ingredients and the cheese! Oh my! Chef's kiss.

Man, lemme tell you something. I can't speak for anything I didn't order, but what I did?! I walked in craving vinegary heat and I got the Buffalo chicken sub. It was perfection. I added fresh onions because I love the texture that onions provide. This was the best buffalo chicken sub I can think of. No other one jumps out in comparison, sitting here searching my mental Rolodex. I will be back, to try something else, possibly, but to definitely get this again when the craving hits.

Located in a small strip just off the main road it is a nice friendly family restaurant. Staff is very friendly from the moment you walk in. You order at the counter for either take out or dine in. Pleasant decor and one tv to keep you entertained as you wait for your food. Self serve fountain drinks as well as fresh ice tea. I have had the pizza here and really like it. Today I got the meatball parmigiana sub. It comes with fries or a bag of chips. You can also upgrade to a salad for an up charge. The sub, or hero as I call it, looked sloppy upon receiving it, but that’s ok because it made up for it in flavor. The bread was toasted just right and the gooey mozzarella was fresh and just the right amount. The meatballs tasted fresh and not frozen, my only complaint was that it could have used two more meatballs. I had a lot of bread, luckily the marinara sauce and cheese was great when the meatballs were gone. Will be trying more of their food. Wine available for those who like a nice Red or White!

The first time I went I was lamenting the special was only 1 slice of pizza and a drink. I can normally eat 4 slices of a regular pizza. OMG their 'slice' was the size of a small pizza anywhere else! Lemon bar for dessert-excellent! My daughter and I stop by about once every 2 weeks for lunch.

Delicious food & very friendly staff! I met the owner tonight when I picked up my order - he was very nice & welcoming. I’ve ordered takeout from this restaurant several times & each time has been wonderful! The baked pasta with their rose cream sauce is one of my favorites! Also love all their different specialty pizzas!

First time ordering. They were super busy. Think it would have tasted better if it wasn't burned. $30 bucks down the drain.

This is probably my favorite pizza place in all of Winston-Salem. Every time I walk in, I get the best customer service that I have seen literally anywhere. Full of energy and extremely kind, love the experience. AND THE FOOD, don't get me started on that. When I crave Tiramisu, I come here. But when I'm here, I always get a pizza too. They have tons of options, great prices, and ultimately super customizable. NY style pizza is thin, but not so thin that it just tastes like air 🙈, it's just the perfect balance. I couldn't even take my pic for this review without trying some first. Overall, love the store and for anyone in Winston-Salem looking for some pizza, this is your place to go

Google
Small restaurant but you can inside and out with great scenery, the customer service is fantastic, the food is really good and worth every dollar . They also have deep dish authentic pizza . I got the Greco supreme and buffalo grilled chicken pizza which both were excellent 👌.

Yelp
The food is always very good. The staff is consistently nice, professional, & very helpful. We have eaten there several times and will continue to go back.

Yelp
Was recommended this place by a coworker and decided to give it a shot. Everything was fantastic! I got it delivered it was very prompt still hot I had no complaints. The salad was very good it tasted as if they made the ceasar dressing in house which is a game changer. The rigatoni I got was delicious you can choose between Alfredo and Rose cream the rose cream was amazing only thing I might have added was a bit more garlic and black pepper but that is just me it was still very good! Last but not least the garlic was amazing very flavorful very fresh you can tell first bite that it was homemade will definitely be going back and seeing what else I can find!

Yelp
We ordered Three slices of pizza and a Veggie Pita, it was delicioussss! They put a lot of toppings on the pizza and it was cooked well! The veggie pita was good and had good flavor even w/o meat. 10/10

Yelp
So first visit to this place was not great but we came back & it was much better! This is a great pizza place that also offers some Greek dishes. The kitchen staff are great, counter help a bit slow, but in her defense she is taking phone orders, counter orders & a drive thru delivery. Good neighborhood pizza place with great specials & prices!

Yelp
Visited Pizza Greco on Saturday for lunch. They had steady business for dining in and taking out. The cashier was friendly and took my order before I went and took a seat. My Caesar salad was ready very quickly. There was a to go container placed on the counter with a cup of dressing. A few grumbles. part of the joy of a Caesar is that it's pre-dressed and the easiest salad to eat. I even just wish they would have put the salad on a plate instead of just serving in the clamshell container. Unfortunately, there was also a piece of saran wrap mixed in my romaine lettuce. I also got a pepperoni calzone. It was a great size and certainly stuffed full with cheese. I wish there were a few more pepperonis in there. I really enjoyed the marinara that came with the calzone. I REALLY wish that they provided actual silverware and not just plastic cutlery. I went through two forks and two knives cutting my calzone into pieces because the cutlery just kept bending out of shape due to the high heat. I love that the calzone was hot (and stayed hot), but it made for just a poor eating experience. All in all, I'd probably get take-out from Pizza Greco again but this experience was just ok.

Yelp
Literally the best pizza in Winston. You can tell the owners perfected what good classic pizza should taste like. Great staff, fair price. This is my only go to pizza place. I swear by their pies. My only complaint is that they are closed on Sunday's and this is the perfect football pizza. Highly recommend!

Yelp
We have been wanting to come eat at the new place for awhile now, and we finally made it happen! Food was very good (we got 2 pizzas, a salad, and the jalapeno cheese bites... these bites were delicious)! I tipped 20% thinking, okay- they take the order at the register then the waitress brings your food/drinks/etc. but that was not the case. She brought the food & that was it. We got our own drinks & bussed our own table. To me- that's not worthy of a 20% tip, when she literally did next to nothing. Lesson learned. Place was nice & clean. Appreciated that! Not sure how often we'll be back to dine in, but we'll definitely be back for a to-go order. If I have to do dang near all the work, I might as well be in my own home. HaHa.

Yelp
Last week was our first visit to Pizza Greco. I'll tell you up front, I judge a restaurant by the cleanliness of the rest rooms and If I had gone to the restroom before we ordered we would have walked out the door with out food. Without too much description the floors had never seen a mop. I'll leave it at that. Now, I will tell you our food was delicious! The french fries, crispy and hot. The service was extremely friendly, helpful with the menu and a nice bright dining room. I want to come back for the good foood but please keep the restrooms clean!

Yelp
I'd been curious for a while to see how they replaced the old slice of Napoli, and finally got the chance to find out last night. I ordered ahead for pickup via the Slice app, and my order was accurate and on time when I arrived. I ordered a lamb gyro pie (15") and a slice of cheese as well as a slice of pepperoni. Let's start with the inside. They closed up the openings in the walls to make for counter service, and this was a smart move. It takes away some of the seating that was there, but there is still some left if you wanted to eat there. They also still have the drive thru operational on the side. The new wall is brick face and makes for a clean aesthetic. There are two places to order inside and a pickup area. As for the traditional slice(s), they are huge! Like really 2 slices in one, and so that's a great value for the price actually. The seasoning was good, not too oily or floppy, and the dough was nice and crisp! Solid effort, and I'll be back for a calzone and Stromboli! The lamb gyro pizza is a great idea and indeed delivers the "Greco" part of the deal! Basically swapping out the pita for pizza, and the tzatziki sauce on the side was fresh as well! Happy to see that a local spot endeavoring to deliver Greek and Italian fusion nailed it on both accounts!

Yelp
My first visit here did not go as well as I had hoped, so I decided to try again. This place changed hands several months ago and the name was changed, renovations were done including a larger pizza oven. The husband and wife team that are now the owners are partners in TJ's Deli, and she is part of the family that owns Duke's as well. The husband is from Greece and that accounts for the Greek items that at now offered here. I ordered one of the Tuesday specials - a Stromboli with toppings of ham, pepperoni, and salami - it comes with a drink but no side and goes for $11.75. I also ordered the lamb Gyro with chips to go, $9.95! The order took right at 15 minutes to get to the table. It was perfectly cooked, the crust was a very pretty brown. It was well filled with meat and cheese that was well distributed. The taste was excellent, and it was further enhanced by the very flavorful Marinara sauce. I am fond of Strombolis and this was a very good version- in fact, there are few that are as good, and even fewer that are better. The lamb gyro was massive, the largest I've ever had - it really takes two hands to lift it up for a bite. By far the largest ingredient in the Gyro was the the lamb, and it was both flavorful and tender. All this sandwich needs is a little better distribution of the items so that each bite contains some of everything, and more tzatziki. Had I being eating it in the restaurant I'd have gotten more tzatziki for sure. I very much enjoyed this visit and was please with both the quality and portion size of what I had, there was value in both items. I look forward to returning and further sampling what they have to offer, especially the tirokafteri and the Antipasto.

Yelp
When I heard that Slice of Napoli had sold their business, I was legitimately dismayed. My favorite spot for pizza, calzones, and hot sandwiches suddenly gone? Say it ain't so! But, I definitely had hope for the future, as I learned the people who bought it also own long-time Winston area favorites TJ's deli (in the same shopping center) and Duke's. I also learned they kept the recipe for pizza sauce intact, and many of the menu favorites. I finally decided to shed my woe, and roll into the freshly named Pizza Greco. This name is accurate, as in addition to most of what you remember from Napoli, there is now a nice selection of Greek sandwiches and foods like Gyros. The space inside has also been seriously upgraded making it feel larger, as well as new upholstery on the booths, which was vastly needed. Drinks are now Pepsi products and self-serve, and it's all counter service, which I also like a lot. My one negative on the drinks, is the tea is no longer brewed, and the replacement brand has a strange smokey flavor I don't like. For food, my wife ordered a regular calzone with pepperoni, and I ordered a regular stromboli which comes with up to 3 toppings. I went for pepperoni, sausage, and mushrooms. After about 15-20 minutes, our giant pizza burritos were up and piping hot. They were, as they were before, MASSIVE. We each had half, and enjoyed the other half later for dinner. The taste was awesome, still plenty of high quality cheese, hers both mozzarella and ricotta. Toppings were definitely not skimpy, plenty of all types in mine and hers. If we had one complaint, not enough of the delicious sauce for dipping! We each needed another full cup to finish our other half, and be mindful, there is a 50 cent charge for extra sauce. In general, the prices are higher than what we saw before at Slice of Napoli, but really, that was because they were so much lower than anyone else in the area. Current prices at Pizza Greco are on par with what you'd find at most other similar restaurants in the area. It's impossible not to compare the two, but this will be the last time I do it. I'm happy to report that Pizza Greco is going to make you happy when you visit, and we look forward to visiting again!

Yelp
I had an awesome experience for my first visit! As many will mention, this location used to be Slice of Napoli, which was a favorite in our household. I am so happy to report the quality and care of the restaurant is in GREAT hands! The new owner, which already owns a few restaurants in the W-S area, took great care in upgrading the interior. With new paint, new countertops, and new upholstery, the space looks larger, cleaner, more customer-friendly. I like the switch to counter service so that it's easy on the staff, easy on the customer. They now have a drink station, which I will always prefer to table service. Now on the to good stuff. My calzone was baaangin. Huge slice, and mine was the "small" portion. This was stuffed with high-quality pepperoni and buffalo mozzarella and ricotta cheeses. The dough was perfectly cooked with a nice crust to the outside, soft--but fully cooked--insides. I like the amount of ricotta this one had as often times I wish my calzones had more than what typical places provide. The marina sauce was flavorful and paired so well with the calzone. I only wish I had more! My partner ordered the stromboli and was equally impressed with the portion, toppings, and flavor. The owner was really interested in our feedback on our meals. He was so kind and had so much passion when he talked about his history and of his family as they own several restaurants in the area, including a favorite of ours, TJ's Deli. Knowing the quality that TJ's has always presented, we knew we were in for a treat. I know at some point I will def. want to try out the "Greco" side of the food as they have an expanded menu with traditional Greek options. Bottom line, for those wary the quality has changed with it's new owners, put your fears aside. This place is excellent and is in excellent hands with the new owner, and we look forward to returning soon!

Yelp
Our beloved Slice of Napoli has changed hands so we decided to give the new menu a try. I love the layout changes they've made so far. They've reupholstered all the booths which was needed. Today we have dinner plans so I tried to just get a sampler of some of the new items on the menu and I also shared a slice of pepperoni pizza with my husband. The fried ravioli was yummy. I could tell it was a premade product but I still enjoyed it. The Tirokafteri was essentially warm pita bread with a tzatziki based sauce. It had a little kick that regular tzatziki doesn't though. My husband ordered a lamb gyro. I don't care for lamb so I didn't try this one. It's carved off a vertical rotisserie unlike so many other places. He said the meat was good but the pita might have gotten a little extra toasted therefore it broke while he was eating. He would have enjoyed it more if it was softer. The fries were hot and crispy. Loved them! The owners said they didn't change the pizza and they still had the same amazing sauce which made us very happy! We both commented the slice we had seemed larger than before and the crust was very crispy which is a plus for me. When I don't have dinner plans I'll definitely be back to try my favorite Sicilian style pizza. It's 16" thick and fluffy crust is super filling but light at the same time. It's crave-able texture is what made this spot my favorite pizza place under the former owners. The service isn't as friendly as before but maybe they just need to coach up the staff a bit. It won't deter me. A pet peeve- no music in the dining room is really the only problem I can point out that keeps me from giving Pizza Greco 5 stars for now. I'll be back!

Yelp
Have been back a couple more times. Had another calzone and then tonight went for the gyro plate. Calzone was really good again. Slightly different ratio of ricotta to mozzarella this time so they probably need to work on consistency. Gyro plate was solid for it not being a full on Greek restaurant.

Yelp
Really enjoyed this place ! They've done a great job inside. Move and clean and well stocked with everything you need . Great menu ! Something for everyone . Pizza by the slice I warn you are huge ! Friendly service and some orders are made fresh to order. Like my chicken souvlaki. Which was really good fresh veggies and nice marinated chicken and great tzatziki. I only wish their pita wasn't as chewy . I like them softer. They come with fries which are nice and lightly seasoned . My friends had the Greek salad which was also fresh and full of veggies and lots on nice fresh feta. They also give you two whole tubs of dressing . The cheese pizza was like I said huge. But nice thin crust. Crunchy and perfect amount of sauce and cheese. Well worth a try. The folks here have done a nice job of keeping a mainstay going at this location. Super clean inside and a few outside seatings as well. Great lunch spot or to go or dinner. They really have a great varied menu .

Yelp
Copied from my other Yelp Account that I am closing out. Got wonderful reply from the owner from my review so I look to go back before long and sample more of the offerings. Drive by here every day going home. Seems like business is going well. "Nice clean decor bit better than average Pizza Place. Open kitchen for view of operations. This place took over from Pizza Napoli which I never experienced. The staff was plenty attentive and the manager (I think the owner but not certain if I remember correctly) made a point to speak to me. They also own TJ'S DELI. He asked me to pass the word saying they need additional business, I was only 1 of 2 eat in diners at 3:30pm mid week. Pizza was charred and I was asked if that was acceptable, I said yes being in a hurry. I definitely want to order again when less rushed to get one not charred, but that one was slightly charred but made it dry. Place is the nearest Pizza place to home and excited they offer Greek food now too, ready for Gyro and more. Hope future Pizza is a bit better though what I had was good but not great, Mario's being being my local Pizza standard, more saucey. But I have goodfor Pizza Greco and look forward to more experience with Pizza and other menu items. Attentiveness and interaction have sold me that they deserve time to grow and blossom. Thought In had posted before with more photos but obviously I missed something and I deleted some of the photos that should be in this post."

Yelp
I have been here 3 times so far since they have opened The first time I was so excited saw a few of the old workers from the previous owners but nothing was the same and was not happy anything I order but i believe in giving second chances Came back 30 day later and just got 2 slices and 2 bottles of water .the pizzas was better then the last time or maybe I was just hungry the girl at the counter forgot to give me the water so I ask one of the other workers to get it for me Came back 3 days later with the kids and got a few slices of pizza mozzarella sticks fries and 3 drinks and once again the same girl forgot my drink had to ask a co-worker for them again I Wil come back one more time and try something different

Yelp
Oh the emotions. I was apprehensive to try Pizza Greco, because I still truly miss A Slice of Napoli, the restaurant that previously occupied this space. HOWEVER! While Slice of Napoli will always hold a place in my heart, I was super impressed with Pizza Greco! The same owners at TJ's Deli, you know it's bound to slay. A bit of a different process than Napoli, Pizza Greco has a casual counter service, as well as a convenient station in the front for takeout orders, stacked with Parmesan, red pepper, utensils, condiments - ready to go to accompany your takeout meal. We ordered at the counter and I wanted to get a little bit of everything... no surprise here! The young lady taking orders was super sweet! They call your name to come get your order. Our food started coming out and I realized they had unfortunately left the grilled chicken off my rose pasta. This was no big deal, but since I had paid for the up charge I decided to just quickly request the chicken on the side. They remade it for me, the owner was so kind and apologetic, stating they were still getting their footing. Totally normal for a new spot, and it wasn't an issue. They quickly corrected it and the pasta was absolutely divine! A rich, rose cream sauce coated the rigatoni nicely, and the grilled chicken addition had a nice flavor. A darn good portion for the price as well! My friend ordered the hummus with pita and the pita was warm, soft and pillowy. Perfect pair for the zippy hummus! He also got a slice of the NY style pizza, pepperoni and fresh basil. It was DELISH. A big ole piece too! I love by the slice options. Now I am admittedly in the minority when it comes to pizza. I'm not a huge fan of thin, NY style pizza. I much prefer a deep dish, or wood fired pizza. Y'all know I had to go in for the Sicilian style pizza. Now I know at first glance the price seems a little steep for a pizza, but these pies are MASSIVE. And absolutely LOADED with toppings. I got the meat lovers and oh my heavens. The crust was just perfect, not overly saucy, totally cheesy and meaty AF. Just fantastic! It's also 12 pieces!! We also tried the Philly steak and it was really good! TJ's is the king of sandwiches, so I definitely knew it would be great! The staff and owner were so kind, checked in on how we liked the food, and the owner came over and introduced himself & told us about the restaurant. Such a nice guy! While Napoli is missed, always... Pizza Greco is a hit & I will be back!!
google avatar

Allison P.

Yelp
So, it's not Slice of Napoli but the pizza was certainly suuuuppppper similar. It was the star of the show! We ordered the wings-honestly they were drowning in sauce and weren't special. We also ordered the cheesesteak because SON had the BEST-unfortunately I was comparing them and it doesn't live up to the previous one-there just wasn't enough melty cheesy goodness. We'll definitely return-I'll stick with the pizza and give the new Mediterranean dishes a try!
google avatar

Hannah F.

Yelp
Tried out the newly opened Pizza Greco and got their pepperoni calzone. The calzone itself was decent and I was pleased with the portion size. My only wish is that the ricotta and other calzone fillings were more seasoned. The staff were friendly and the newly upgraded building was nice to see.

John M.

Yelp
Great place to eat! I really love the buffalo chicken pizza. I drive from Kernersville just to eat here.
google avatar

Brendon N.

Yelp
Had the Lamb Gyro, it was pretty good. Fries were crispy and seasoned well. Staff was very nice and friendly. With the renovations the place looks great. It is a fast casual pizza and Greek restaurant with decent prices. It's not bad by any means but it isn't knock your socks off great either.

Yelp
Shannon B is amazing and so kind, we need more servers like her. She provided great customer service, hot food, and with a genuine smile. Definitely coming back again and requesting her. Hard to find people that enjoy their job and helping customers nowadays. Thanks so much Shannon, will be back with my family to see you soon. Food was amazing too!!!

Stasie H.

Yelp
BEST pizza, BEST stromboli's, BEST service, BEST everything. Highly recommend Pizza Greco and owner Lambros is the very nice and the most chill guy.
google avatar

Mike d.

Yelp
First time ordering from here. Service was quick and the food was very good. We had a Stromboli, veggie pita and gyro. All were very well stuffed and tasted great. The fries that came with the pitas are tasty. Not sure what is on them but really liked them. Will definitely be back. Prices are better than Mario's.

Yum Y.

Yelp
Authentic Sicilian pizza that rivals New York's best! Met a fellow Northerner from Jersey, too! Perfect crust, sauce, and cheese. Highly recommend!

Yelp
It's the worst pizza I've ever eaten save yourself the high prize and go to the grocery store store.
google avatar

Scott H.

Yelp
Who serves a "Cheese Steak" where the lettuce is the first thing you see! It's also not real Italiano Pizza. Good Luck!

Matthew B.

Yelp
I ordered a New York style pizza and a salad to be delivered. The pizza was terrible. The pizza was certainly not New York style. The salad was delivered with the pizza in a warming container. My salad was actually warm when I received it. I will never order pizza from this place again. I recommend you do the same.

Sylvia L.

Yelp
Great service love the smiling face of the cashier. And as always pizza was just perfect crispy crust and toasted ravioli is great as well. Will definitely be back soon

Bryan D.

Yelp
Pizza was dry. The cheesesteak combo is the best! Prices are very reasonable. The staff welcomes you with great enthusiasm and energy

Carlos B.

Yelp
All good things to say. The food was delicious. The place is clean and the staff is friendly. And the baklava was off the hook. Truly recommend

Naviya W.

Yelp
The atmosphere of this place is amazing 10/10 customer service. They have great quality food that has me coming back weekly. Give them a try !

Cole B.

Yelp
Great service very fast, everyone is friendly and the food is even better. It can be kinda quiet but that shouldn't deter you from eating here. The restrooms are quite clean and so is the seating area. All around a great family dine in restaurant. Ps. The lamb gyros are to die for!

Harland H.

Yelp
We got the Scilian meat lovers pizza and it was Hugh and delicious but I thought it would have been without the bacon which tended to overshadow the other ingredients flavor. Service was good and although a small shop it's clean and welcoming

Jennifer L.

Yelp
My family and I went the other day and was greeted by a young lady. After she took our order we couldn't have waited more than 20 minutes before all our food was out. We got wings and 2 subs. Overall the staff and good was amazing, very pleased

Joanne K.

Yelp
Just ordered from this place. It was fantastic!! I'm from NE PA, we have alot of Italian people there. This place was literally the best pizza and wings I've had in 5 yrs. Excellent food!

Kris B.

Yelp
Good pizza and fries. Can get 2 massive slices, 2 drinks and 2 fries for about 15 bucks. Nice and clean place with booths and tv.

Mike A.

Yelp
Sweet chili wings and plain cheese pizza were best I've had in Winston. Great service as well.

Claire B.

Yelp
Wonderful diverse menu and everything is good! And the staff are gracious and polite and make you feel special. We wish them good luck !

Sarah B.

Yelp
Such a cute place! Staff were friendly, food was hot, tables, booths were clean! Definitely will be back!

Stephanie H.

Yelp
Staff is friendly and the food is fresh. They have a wide variety of items, I will definitely be back!

David S.

Yelp
Being a fan of a good gyro, I stopped by and gave it a try. Best gyro I've had in Winston-Salem and reasonably priced. Big portion of meat, soft pita, everything comes together nicely.

Gregory V.

Yelp
Very good chicken souvlaki at a reasonable price. The owner Lamas introduced himself and was very welcoming. Great for take out or dine in.

Jess H.

Yelp
The manager is a complete jerk who is unable to take a complaint. He is incapable of listening because he's too busy talking over you. The pizza would be reasonably priced if it was edible. The dough was so tough it was painful to chew. There was also an absence of ordered toppings and a minimum of the ones that were there. I did, however, learn that the manager apparently owns 4 restaurants and has been making pizzas for 20 years; how that made my experience better, I'm not
