Great atmosphere and good pizza! I loved the wall art and pinball machines. The folks at our table were thirsty, and the service on refills took some time, as well as the pizza. All in all, this was a great neighborhood pizza joint and I would most definitely come back.

I love this pizza. I love the crust, the sauce and the thoughtful combos. They have great art. A collection of pinball machines. And incredible beer selection and the friendliest most helpful staff to help you choose from too many good options. I can only suggest over-ordering because there's too many phenomenal pies. Personally - I always go with the Tony Clifton. But there's usually specials and also ... vegan... if that's your thing....

My husband and I decided to visit this place after spotting a post on social media. Although we live in Fall River, we made the 30-minute drive. From the moment you step inside, a sense of relaxation washes over you. There are arcade games near the entrance, and a pick-up counter in the center; to the left, you'll find the bar and seating area. During both of our visits, we chose to sit at the bar and were greeted warmly each time. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the food and drinks are delightful. We had the classic cheese pizza, which is absolutely divine, and the Hulk-out, their take on buffalo chicken—simply FANTASTIC! The wings and garlic knots are just as delicious. The Bicycle Operator (a cocktail) is phenomenal; it’s the kind of drink that you want to be served in a large pitcher (it’s that good!) We genuinely have no complaints. If you enjoy a relaxed, low-key atmosphere, you must try this place—it's truly a hidden gem!

Our friends have been recommending this place forever. We finally came in for the first time here on a Saturday night. It didn't disappoint. We tried chx sandwich, pizza, wings, and tiramisu. Garlic fries are fire-just order them!

Visited for the first time during RI FOOD FIGHTS' LORD of the WINGS - The staff was great as they greeted us immediately as we entered and got us seated. Our server provided us with his recommendation for the wings, which I should have listened to as I tried the general Tsos and the Garlic Parmesan although he essentially pushed me away from the latter for being too garlicky, which he was right. The quality of the wings were great however I unfortunately wasn't a fan of the smokey flavor as I felt it even overpowered the sauce. Would definitely go back for the vibes and to try their pizza as I saw some that looked appetizing.

Really solid spot! Love that you can customize the specialty pizzas to be half/half. The ricotta special was sublime, hulk less so. Our server was wonderful and very attentive. Funky geeky atmosphere too. Looking forward to coming back!

This place has amazing vibes, the pinball machines and the art work are so cool, staff so kind. The gluten free pizza is the best pizza I have ever had, so fresh, crisp, and soft OMG. Also family friendly which makes it even better!

Always a great stop. The pizza was great, we enjoyed a couple different specialty pizzas. One was carbonara style (thought it needed a little more seasoning) and one was various meats (my favorite). We also tried the wings, very good with a nice smoked flavor. The beer list was good as always. The service was great. Very informative and helpful. We always love the eclectic decor and various activities within (pinball, movies, etc.)

I absolutely love Pizza J! Solid, classic, and consistent NY style pizza with great crust. They accommodate half and half toppings at fair prices and they also have delicious smoky wings (I like the sweet Thai chili sauce on the side)! Cute spot to eat in with a hip and quirky vibe from the decor to the pinball machines and themed bathrooms... and friendly service! I usually call ahead for takeout but when I dine-in the cocktails are awesome. My favorite pizzas are The Strutter, The King Tidal, and the Roni. They also have a convenient parking lot with extra street parking as well.

Yummmmmm!!! Fifth time having pizza from here and it was just as delicious and satisfying as the first!! Pizza was ready when we got there (pick up order) hot cheesy and delicious!! Cooked to perfection!

My favorite spot to grab a pizza and salad. It is so good. You can order online and grab it quickly. The staff is always really nice. I've never eaten in but they hah pin ball machines and it seems like a cool vibe. The house salad is pretty decent with a nice dressing. The greens and veggies are always pretty fresh. The Rita is our go to and it is fantastic every time. The crust is nice and the toppings are great, but their sauce is top notch. Definitely check it out!

It's not just the wings--it's the vibe. The energy at Pizza J is electric yet cozy, like that perfect house party where everyone, from families wrangling kids to couples on a chill date night to singles just vibing with their food, feels totally at home. Great experience, walked in on a Sunday right after opening. Everyone greeted. Us and we decided to sit at the bar. Excellent menu of signature cocktails, prepared perfectly. Ordered a cheese pizza which is a great value, hand tossed fresh ingredients and cooked perfectly. The fries are a must. Each of the 3 times I've visited the fries are served hot and crispy, with just the right amount of salt. Scan for you menu and pay using your phone is also an option. Plenty of pinball machines and slice pies available if you want to stop in and grab a slice of the road. Great drinks, food and service.

In a city filled with red sauce Italian joints and decades old pizza traditions, Pizza J throws the rulebook out and builds something completely original. Under spinning disco balls and the watchful eyes of vintage movie monsters, while Bob Ross quietly paints his happy trees on the TV above the bar, they're turning out serious pies without a serious attitude. The sauce here has something to say - tangy, herbed, refusing to play backup singer to the cheese. That crust manages to walk that line between chewy and crisp, the kind of technique that tells you someone in that open kitchen knows exactly what they're doing. Get the cheese slice - it's a chance to taste everything in balance. The pepperoni's a showoff, all cup-and-char bravado, muscling all of the other flavors off the stage. This is pizza for people who don't need their restaurants to look like museums. The pinball machines ping, the jukebox blasts Zeppelin, and nobody's pretending we are in Naples. My kind of joint.

Pizza J's is my son's favorite pizza place. It is eclectic with fun prints and paintings in the walls. If I had a place to put the Beetlejuice print - I would take it home lol The restaurant has multiple pinball games - which is so much fun! If you like craft beer, you are in luck, although they also have a full bar. Go in for a slice, a whole pie, or just to play some pinball, either way you will enjoy it.

We stumbled upon this amazing retro-styled pizza place last winter when our son wrestled for the state championship at the PCTA. The gluten free pizza was soooo good that we have ordered and picked up from there even though it's at least 30 minutes away. Last time I ordered the Arcimboldo but had it made with a white sauce. It was the perfect texture and tasted heavenly. The crimini mushrooms take it to a different level. If you are looking for an old school kick back and relax kind of pizza joint, this is your place.

Participating in Lord of the Pies and stopped in after work for a slice. Their pizza is always consistent and reliable and I've been here before. One of my go to spots over the last few years when I'm in the mood for thin pizza. Plus you can't go wrong with Pinball machines !

Probably best pizza in town. Lots of creative tops but plain cheese or margarita great too. Pinball for entertainment. Glad I found this place. Strongly encourage you to try it.

We love Pizza J, it has a fun atmosphere! We have been coming to Pizza J for a few years with our kids and friends. We usually stop at Pizza J before a Providence Bruins game or other events at the Amica Pavilion in Providence. There is a nice selection of pinball machines which keep my kids and husband busy! The pizza is delicious, thin crust and we always ask for well-done. We've also had the salads and fries which are delicious. They have a great beer selection too! The restaurant is busy on weekends so I would recommend reservations. Staff is always welcoming and friendly!

How have I never reviewed before ? We love pizza j and go fairly often. It's a fun atmosphere and def a place to hang for a bit. The staff is all super , always have had a great experience with them. They have a lot of craft beers you won't find anywhere else. Also lots of diff cocktails for those who don't drink beer. The menu is small but you can have so ain't diff kinds of pizza that you will find something for sure. Five of us split two pizzas and that was enough. We also had a bread pudding that was sooo good. They have delicious garlic Fries also that we didn't get this time and I'm sad we didn't. Going to have to go back. This is a wonderful local spot and I highly recommend !

Delicious thin crust pizza place in the Fed Hill neighborhood! First things first there's a couple parking spots out front which is nice! The ambiance is very casual and cool with lots of retro touches!! Originally came with some friends to grab some pizza to take home, but they told us the wait was around 1 hour when we got there around 7pm on a Wednesday night. So we opted to dine in as they said the wait may be closer to 30 minutes if we dine in! SO in the future if you're looking to get take out from this place, I would definitely call ahead at least an hour beforehand :) Regarding the food, I enjoyed it! The Tony Clifton was actually surprisingly my favorite pizza!! It's a vegetarian pizza, which I typically don't go for, but the flavors were all so great and meshed well! We also got their take on the Haiwaiian which I usually love but it wasn't as good as I had hoped because the pineapple pieces were pretty small and thin so the flavor did not come through as much. I also thought the crust came out to be a little dry. However, overall, I would come back if I'm craving any thin crust pizza with fun toppings :)

I've ordered takeout from here several times. I've tried both the Arcimboldo and the cheese with pepperoni pizzas. Both were really good; they had a thin crust and a flavorful tomato sauce. I particularly like how they make the crust. I'm not a fan of crispy crusts. Overall, it's been a very good experience.

We've stopped to grab good slices to go several times, but this stop with RI Food Fights Lord of the Wings contest showed us another side of this fun place. We settled in to try the wings & really enjoyed the atmosphere. Pinball tables & bright artwork add to the fun. The smoky hot wings were fantastic - Crispy, tasty & spicy. The beer list was fantastic! It was hard to settle one. A Parthenon sweet stout proved a perfect foil for the wings. An order of parmesan garlic fries was addictive. We couldn't stop nibbling on them. Pizza J is definitely more than just good slices! Now we know.

We walk in to a old school pizza join with pinball machines and a big oven so far so good service was friendly and nice kind of hipster . I feel in love with the french fries for that reason alone, I've fell in love with this place garlic knots were was ok the Angelo's fries was pretty awesome just like the Italian restaurant I will be back for sure

I'm a longtime fan of Julian's so I was hype to see they had a sister restaurant. It did not disappoint, I'm still bowled over by how good of an experience it was! The ambiance was excellent, it was giving 80s arcade vibes. The projector showing monsters inc was a nice touch. We were seated quickly and the service was friendly and fast. They let us sample 3 different beers before deciding which pitcher to go with. My only complaint is the draft beer menu was very interesting and eclectic - honestly I would liked a basic light beer but that's just my preference. The food was 10/10 definitely the best pizza I've ever had in providence. The pepperoni with a side of ranch was delish! There were several pizzas on the menu that sounded good to me, I'm eager to go back.

I visited as part of #RIFoodFights #LordoftheWings competition and this was my first time trying their chicken wings. They're famous, of course, for their pizza which is delicious, so I wasn't sure what to expect on the wings. They were quite interesting and very yummy. They were smoked, but also very crispy, like they use a light batter on the wings. Limited but good variety of draft beer available. The wings make for a good appetizer, but the pizza is still the star of the show at Pizza J.

Initially went to pizza J for take out but they let us know that the wait would be over an hour! So we decided to stay. The waiter was very friendly and gave me a " high five" as part of the Yelp free deal! The restaurant has a rather goth/ skater boy look but the ambiance was still nice! The pizza was delicious. As a vegetarian, the only one I could eat was the " Tony Clifton" pizza with ricotta! The combination of ingredients made for a delicious blend of flavors with every bite! The only negative feedback I have is regarding the crust, which I felt was a bit too thick. Other than that, still loved the meal!

Pizza j never disappoints! Stopped here with a few friends. Place wasn't too busy, but there was a lot if activity around the arcade section. Pizza is crispy and full if flavor. We ordered the rita and a pepperoni. Both were excellent. I assume the Rita is their take on a Margherita pizza, served with a tomato sauce instead of fresh tomatoes, but I'm sure there are hundreds of variations... and I will note that getting a good fresh tomato that tastes like a tomato is pretty much impossible. Good beer selection and bar seating available. Small parking lot and street parking. We have never had a parking problem. I recommend Pizza J, you won't be disappointed!

RI Food Fight Wing review: Don't order the wings! They are too smoked that it felt like I was licking ash. My chicken wing loving husband never leaves a wing behind. We walked away leaving 4 wings to be thrown out. BUT- EAT THE PIZZA! We went with pepperoni. It's good. The food fight coupon brought us in but we will now be customers. Love the atmosphere- eclectic. A mish mash of nostalgia and hip. Goonies was playing on the tv. The music was pushing out classic hits (I walked out rocking to wearing sunglasses at night.) The pinball machines were on par with the theme. When a place has a black toilet- they be fancy. I just like the vibe here. Oh- and if you check in on Yelp here, you get a coupon for a high five. This made me laugh and we did cash it in! My 2 year old got a solid high five from our waiter. True rating: 3.5 (Can't wait to try more here) Bring ones for the pinball!

Food: fantastic pizza with yummy creative twists. Vegetarian options available including a wings alternative. Bar: knowledgeable bartender offers an excellent cocktail menu and a wide assortment of beers to accompany pizza. Service is excellent & the staff are friendly and helpful. Ambiance is comfy with lots of pinball machines. . This has quickly become a regular spot for me after only a few visits. I noticed there was an outstanding trivia night as well.

My wife and I stopped in quick, never been before. First timers.. we were blown away. The staff was very friendly and answered every question we had, and the food? Amazing! What a gem this place is. Some of the best pizza and wings we've ever had. Craft beer options were great. Long Live, Fox Farm, Buttonwoods. Pizza had no flop, fresh ingredients, great crunch and the wings were like nothing we've tasted before. We'll definitely be back. Highly recommended.

We've been here a handful of times and the pizza is always spot on. We've brought friends from out of state and it was talked about many times after. Fun drinks and good food, what more do you need?

I find my self returning here more often than I expected. The pizza is both delicious & offers some fun combinations of toppings. It's a little on the pricy end but still worth it. The service is good & helpful but can be a little slow depending on how busy it is. The beer choices offer a good mix of local breweries that are worth trying. The atmosphere of the inside is pretty cool as they have unique & different decorations that most pizza places & even have pinballs machines you can play.

Finally made it to Pizza J last week and am so glad that I did! We found ourselves on the West Side of Providence on Labor Day Monday and we were craving pizza so it was time to give Pizza J a whirl. They have seating inside and outside. We wanted to sit outside and it was pretty busy so we had to wait about 20 minutes. We walked around the neighborhood a bit, came back, and boom our table was ready! There was one server waiting on all the tables outside and he was wonderful. He cleared are table right away, had plenty of suggestions for how we could make the pizza our own, and made us feel truly welcomed. Pizza J can split any pizza half and half! We did half cheese and half the Tony Clifton with vegetarian sausage on it. We also split the roasted broccolini to start. The pizza was fresh, bubbling hot, and had that crispy crunchy crust that I love so much. If you find yourself on the West Side of PVD don't sleep on Pizza J!

Great spot! Fantastic vibes, great beers, friendly staff, and very good pizza. We were in town for the weekend to see Bob Dylan and I knew I had to stop at this spot. Great art, fun arcade games, great selection of alcohol, and really good pizza. I should also mention the staff was friendly and helpful and they were playing some great tunes- not too many restaurants are cranking hot snakes!

#RIFoodFights #BestPizzaRI - had a slice of pepperoni. This is a classic super thin foldable pizza with a very smooth gooey cheese and great pepperoni flavor and minimal oil dripping on the plate. I would easily recommend PizzaJ for classic New York style pizza. Staff is friendly and new pinball machines are fun to play.

Pizza J has consistently been our go to pizza place before the pandemic and definitely during the pandemic for take out. While I missed the cool vibe of eating inside, I appreciate the simplicity of take out. You can easily order on their website and pick up. They have great seitan wings with vegan blue cheese, vegan sausage, and vegan cheese options for plant based eaters. We love to build our own pizza. The portions are large and the pies are tasty. The staff was lean this year, but always professional and friendly. So grateful to this restaurant for offering vegan options and navigating these crazy times with grace.

Love this places pizza and the vibe. Visit for pizza and pinball all the time. Recently went for Lord of the Wings and they may be my pick for winner. Wings have a nice smoked taste and both their buffalo and sweet thai chilli are super tasty. Extra points for showing Beetlejuice.

I've gone here a few times; the pizza is delicious and is a favorite among my office. My only qualm is I made an order for an office party a day in advance and when I went to pick it up at the requested time it was not ready. I was happy to be patient when they said it would only take 15 more minutes but it ended up taking 30 minutes and one of the pizzas was not cut. Just something to keep in mind if you're ordering pickup.

We loved this place. Great energy. Our friend Julie who lives in providence says it's her favorite. I think one of the best thin crust pizzas I've ever had. Wings were also outstanding. Great experience. Highly recommend

We had the garlic fries to start and it was mouth watering. Then we had the Alphabet pizza and it was great! It was cooked to perfection and the taste was amazing. The ratio of crust, sauce, cheese and toppings was just right. Along with a pitcher of Belgium beer to wash it all down. Not only was the food good but the server was so nice he made the experience even better. Thanks Bill! And also all the other people that were assisting and working. The vibe is cool it's like a punk rock kinda vibe with old school arcade games.

Decided to try Pizza J because they had a nice beer menu and pizza always works for the kids. Went on a Friday night at 6 expecting it to be packed and to our pleasant surprise, it wasn't!! Basically sat ourselves after being greeted and server came over right away to point out the QR code menu, which I guess is still new to some folks. We were able to get small flights of beers even though they were out of the 4 oz flight glasses (substituted 6 oz pours at no added cost). Server was clearly experienced and was very attentive even though he had about 10 tables. Had the fried chicken sando and it was outstanding! Instead of one giant piece of chicken it had a pair of thin breasts that were perfectly fried (it would have been easy to overcook them). Slaw and ranch complimented the crispy fried goodness. Wife and kids split a roni pie and it was also cooked perfectly. Not greasy and held together well for a thin crust. We even ended up taking a pastry stout home to have by the fire later on. Definitely headed back here next time I'm looking for a pie and/or a brew on the west side.

Solid pizza! Tried the wings this time (with thai chili sauce on the side)... the wings are smoked so they taste like little mini turkey legs from a faire! Bold and Beautiful is solid and Tony Clifton is good too! Got the Strutter last time, also delicious and good crust... would go again...sorry for the poor pics...too hungry

Had to go back and update after Pizza J quickly rose to the top of our "go to" restaurants for dinner in Providence! I just finished out performing in a musical that played down the street from this fantastic eatery, and we basically went here for dinner every night after my performances! Of course, that allowed me to sample a few more menu items, and I felt like the Garlic Fries deserved a review update all of their own! You MUST order these decadent and delightful morsels of garlicky goodness! Hand cut fries topped with garlic aioli, Parmesan cheese, and herbs, all served in a heaping portion that's perfect for sharing - or not! Pro tip: don't plan on kissing anyone after you have these, unless they ate the fries too! The garlic flavor packs a punch! However, they are AMAZING, and one of the best starters I've had at all the casual dining restaurants in PVD. Definitely worth checking out. Extra special shoutout to our server, Martha, who we had tending our table on more than one occasion. She is hysterically funny, attentive, and awesome, and if you can request her as your server when you go, DO IT! We got the Garlic Fries at her excellent recommendation! Her service plus the awesome appetizer pumped my review of Pizza J up from four stars to five - and it really is worth that rating!

Pizza j always hits. I'm in love with their food-but eat it in house! The food is incredible either way but having it hot out of the pizza oven is the real experience. My favorite of all time is the Arcimboldo pizza, red sauce/cheese/olives/artichokes/herbs. Just the fricken best. They have awesome apps- wings, fried mozzarella, tonight we got a fried burrata, an awesome twist! Garlic fries- need no introduction, just order them. You will have dragon breath for 48 hours, it's so worth it. Another reason to eat in house- pinball! Bring dollars, they have a token machine.
