"A disclaimer on the menu warns that you cannot get jeans at this Ponce City Market food stall, but pizza slices are fair game. Classic margherita, pepperoni, and five-cheese slices range from $4.50 to $6.50 for the Mall Slice. We usually get the Mall Slice because it’s bigger than the paper plate it’s served on. The melted mozzarella sits on top of a tomato sauce that doesn’t overpower the cheese and a sturdy sourdough crust that doesn’t get droopy. So when you want a decent slice and a reasonably priced beer, there’s always a bar seat available at Pizza Jean’s vinyl stickers-covered counter." - nina reeder, juli horsford
"The lone pizzeria at Ponce City Market reopened at the end of 2022 in its new location on the first floor of the central food hall. Backed in part by James Beard-nominated baker Chris Wilkins, Pizza Jeans offers giant mall slices and whole pies in classic flavors like margherita, five cheese, and pepperoni with the option to add additional toppings. The crusts on these pizzas alone are worth the trip to PCM, as are the sub rolls that hold the contents of the hearty sandwiches. Mall slices are large and in charge, coming in at $5 each. (Think two slices in one.) Expect cocktails, beer, wine, and frozen drinks from the bar. The stall also features counter seating and is open for takeout and delivery." - Eater Staff
"Pizza Jeans for bakery pie that are nice and dry with little grease." - Beth McKibben
"Evolving from a pop-up inside a baker’s shop, this mall pizzeria uses heirloom grains and natural leavening for an excellent sourdough base and opts for fresh mozzarella slices rather than low-moisture shredded cheese on its Margherita. It’s known for oversized “mall slices” that riff on chain food nostalgia while operating inside a curated market setting. The interior nods to East Village pizza culture with punk and hip-hop music, sketches of cultural icons, a seven-seat bar with repurposed leather swivel chairs, and a full cocktail program that includes multiple spritz variations." - ByEmily Wilson
"Pizza Jeans reopened over the weekend in its new location on the first floor of the central food hall at Ponce City Market. It closed on the second floor at the end of September, relocating to the former Farm to Ladle space. The pizzeria is a collaboration between Root Baking Co. baker Chris Wilkins, restaurateur Billy Streck, and Jeremy Gatto, offering whole pizzas, sub sandwiches, cocktails, beer, natural and biodynamic wines, and frozen drinks. The stall offers counter seating as well as takeout and delivery. It opened in 2020 in the former space of Root Baking Co., which relocated beside it. Wilkins was a James Beard award semifinalist in 2019 and 2020." - Beth McKibben
