In the 9th & 9th district, this tiny independent pizzeria fires minimalist pies on a lean menu, spotlighting local ingredients. Regularly recommended by local food writers, including the Salt Lake Tribune, it’s a fast, unfussy stop that still respects Italian fundamentals.

Pizza was pretty good, but I found them a little wet - too much cheese resulted in a dripping, greasy slice. Staff was nice enough, and the space was cute. Would go back for another try, just might modify my order. The lemon basil special was a nice surprise!

Google
The service was fast and the pizza tasted great! It’s also a pretty great price if you are looking for wood fire pizza. My wife and I ordered the margherita and a special lemon pizza. The lemon one was interesting, but not my favorite, but I’m glad I tried it. Margherita was spot on. Overall fun and yummy!

Google
The pizza was delicious — fresh ingredients and full of flavor. We had a great time dining in with the kids; the atmosphere was warm, family-friendly, and relaxed. To top it all off, we accidentally left a bag behind, and when we returned the next morning, it was still there with everything untouched. That kind of honesty and care is rare and truly appreciated. Highly recommended — both for the food and the staff!

I will say, I was really looking forward to trying Pizza Nono, but was sadly disappointed with a poor-mediocre experience. We went there with some friends of ours, and all of the pizzas came out at different times, with one of the four taking almost an hour to be served (this was after the three of us were done eating completely, and they barely brought out is food. This was frustrating, and it seemed like none of the staff cared about the urgency or our overall experience. The food itself was mid at best. The crust was really thin and flimsy, as the pizzas weren’t cooked very well and came out just warmer than room temperature. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and go back and try them again at a different time of day—maybe it just wasn’t a good night. The vibe is really cool, and it’s a really fun spot ok 9th, especially when it’s warm out with their patio seating.

Google
This little place is so cool! It caught my attention for the pizza, and I found they also had sandwiches. They make their sandwiches with focaccia bread, and everything is made fresh. It has plenty of seating for a small place. Great customer service and a clean place.

Google
Fantastic wood-fired Neapolitan style pizza with a modern twist. Absolutely delicious! Wonderful people working there.

Google
This review is for educational purposes. Ordered two margarita pizzas, they came with exactly 5 pieces of basil total that had been cooked with the pizza. You put the basil on a margarita pizza AFTER you bake it so they don't shrivel up like this. And, 5 pieces of basil? Y'all 😂 So we called and were super nice and they offered to make us two more pizzas with more basil, and they burnt the crap out of the pizzas! Basil shriveled and cooked again. Come on, don't be petty y'all. Your pizza is usually very good.

Google
I was there when pizza NONO opened its doors to the public. For the delight of the consumers we had in our own neighborhood a place with had made-high quality pizza. Sadly, over the years the quality of the service, not the food, but the service has decayed. Last night my order of three pizzas was delayed 20 minutes while I was sat waiting, 2 pizzas were ready to go while the last one took more than 1 hour, from the time I placed my order, to be made. By the time my order was complete, the two other pizzas were cold. Sad experience for a loyal costumer.

Yelp
The pizzas are incredible Yes, they may be small, but the flavor is outstanding and cooked to perfection Staff is really nice. Customer service is great. Ambience is really nice No complaints here

Yelp
Their pizza was so good! I have been craving Napoli style pizza and this delivered, although it was thinner than I'm used to in the east coast. It took a little while for the pizzas to come out but was well worth the wait. The bathrooms are on the far left side in another part of the building, past the stairs. Location is great, parking as always is limited in this area. I recommend the a la vodka - soooo good!

Yelp
The wallpaper makes it feel like your grandma's living room, but the bustling energy of all the people enjoying their pizza reminds you that you're in a restaurant. Nono specializes in thin crust pizza and they make them to order, so everything is fresh. I enjoyed a Margherita pizza with no cheese-just how I like it. The flavor was good, but I wasn't overly wow'd. It was just fine. You order at the counter, take a number and grab a table. When your food is ready, they bring it out to you. Bus your own table-it's a cozy place with a feeling of community, which I appreciate.

Yelp
Friendly service. Small spot with very little seating. Come here during business hours and you should have a table! Once school released, there was hardly anywhere to sit. The pizza was some of the best pizza I've ever had. The flavor of the dough was amazing and the toppings were fresh. The kale Cesar salad was substantial and delicious.

Yelp
So delicious! Has a lovely patio. The pickup service was a little confusing to know if they actually got my order, but once picked up it was delicious!!
google avatar

Corynn B.

Yelp
Cute & quaint! A few tables throughout the inside space, all with a view of their pizza oven. They also have a decent sized patio space which was surprisingly pretty full on a weekend in February with the sun shining. They only had a couple staff that were slinging pizzas, taking orders, and dropping pizzas. Due to the limited staff on a fairly busy weekend, the service can be a little bit on the slower side. There were only two people doing alllll the things when we visited. I always get the margherita here, with fresh parm, basil, tomato sauce, mozzarella. It's simple, fresh, and delicious, just like most of their menu. Their takeout menu seems to be a little bit more limited than their dine-in menu. I ordered online and it was ready within 25 minutes. Of course, due to the location on 9th & 9th the parking is limited. I've been lucky enough to find a spot out front or on the side streets every time I've gone, so don't let the parking situation be too much of a barrier.

Yelp
Bro how do you get rid of the Yes Yes pizza? This is scandal of the highest order. This was a 5 star place while the Yes Yes was on the menu and now it's Sbarro

Yelp
The first time I came to SLC with my husband, we were disappointed because they ran out of pizza maybe within an hour of closing, so we couldn't eat here, but I came back recently with a friend and we didn't encounter the same issue. They were still pretty busy given it was a Tuesday evening, but thankfully they had pizza! Pretty casual place with both indoor and outdoor seating. Sitting outside in the evening is super nice, the neighborhood is great for people watching and lots of parties milling about. I ordered the a la vodka and was super happy with the taste of the sauce. A little different than your normal pizza if you like a tangier sauce. The only thing I wished was that it was a little crispier and a little less oily. Otherwise, crust was still enjoyable to eat since it was chewy and soft.
google avatar

Kyla T.

Yelp
Great neapolitan style pizza in downtown SLC. The menu is curated with signature classics plus some out of the box flavor combos. I've been a few times now and the staff is always so friendly and attentive. Pizza comes out fast and the crust is well cooked, bubbly and had the perfect chard. They also offer a variety of sodas that come in the glass bottles oppose to fountain or can. You can chose to sit inside or out when the weather is nice. The inside is a rustic and intimate space. Outside is a but more spacious. It's dog friendly so bring your pup or pop watch as you enjoy your pizza. Dolcetti Gelato is right across the street so it makes a great pizza + gelato date night.
google avatar

Harold Y.

Yelp
We tried the pizza which was very good. Our server was attentive and was on top our needs. The only thing I could suggest to improve the experience is cleanliness of the outdoor seating area. Another thing that many restaurants are doing now that I find troubling is, asking for a tip before the service is provided. Shouldn't the tip be based on the service provided?

Linda L.

Yelp
Unfortunately, this once-great-pizza-place has gone downhill, especially when ordering to-go. I ordered two pizzas through their website. When I arrived, the pizzas were just being boxed up (so they should be "fresh," right?). The pizzas were very sparsely topped and lacked any real flavor or taste. I'd like to say they were really busy inside, but nope, there were only a few patrons sitting outside. I used to love this place. It's just gone downhill. Won't be going back -- at least for awhile.
google avatar

Jason L.

Yelp
This spot is so awesome. Great vibe and now that the weather is warming the patio is a cool spot to grab a bite. Had a great little lunch here and I can't wait to go back.
google avatar

Fran D.

Yelp
Came on a Sunday afternoon. There was one group in front of us. It legitimately took 40 minutes for our pizza to come out. They were not busy so this is frustrating and perplexing. There was two staff members so it seems there was enough bandwidth to handle two small parties. The food itself is good, but consistently slow service like this is not worth the wait. With the menu ONLY being pizzas primarily, seems like they should have more built in efficiencies. Then to top it off all my toppings slid off my pizza lol. There are other good pizza spots around town with faster service.

Sam M.

Yelp
they got my order COMPLETELY wrong after I had already corrected the cashier. I then told them they messed up, and they proceeded to make me the WRONG pizza AGAIN. no shade but like get your darn orders right.
google avatar

Yelp
Such a cute place off of 9th! They use a hot oven for the pizza making and all their options looked inviting. We landed on 3 different kinds and shared. Loved them all for different reasons. The yes yes had mushrooms and truffle butter that was so smooth, you want to almost bathe in it. The a la vodka was so fresh and clean and simple yet so effective. The beehive was spicy and sweet (they drizzle honey on it. *drooling) lots of indoor seating and the outdoor seating (as long as it's not too chilly cause it's very shady) is so cute! The service is just a normal order and take a number to your table. Very delicious and it doesn't make you feel sickly after!
google avatar

Yelp
Cute spot for pizza! Pizza Nono is a unique restaurant where you order at the counter, eat off of paper plates, but pay fancy pizza pricing. It's an odd combo but the food is delicious and the ambiance of the place is very cute and modern. We ordered a lot - the Beehive pizza, the À la Vodka pizza, the cauliflower, eggplant parmesan, and the beets and arugula. The À la Vodka and the Eggplant Parmesan were my favorite dishes - full of flavor, quality ingredients and I left feeling full and happy. The staff was kind but there was definitely minimal interaction. You order at the counter, a staff member brings you the food, but no one checks up on you, no water refills, no asking how the food is, etc. I liked this place and I would go back, but I do wish there was more of a traditional dining experience here. Or at least some real plates! Thank you for the good food!
google avatar

Janice L.

Yelp
Visited recently with some friends visiting from out of town and they absolutely loved this place. Like everyone else said, get the Beehive pizza!! So tasty with the honey , the spicy pepperoni , and the jalapeños. The sauce, the crust.. everything about the Beehive pizza is fantastic. The sausage pepper pizza was decent. Not something I would order again, but will definitely have to come back to get the Beehive pizza again.I've also tried the margherita pizza on a separate occasion & really enjoyed it. Staff and service was really friendly. Communal type of seating here. I love visiting during warmer months when they have outdoor dining available and open doors to their restaurant. They have a nice selection of beverages including local kombucha.

Yelp
First off this was probably the best gluten free crust I have ever had. It was chewy and wonderful. However, pretty sure it wasn't remotely GF. Let's start off with the good. The place is cute, hip, in one of my favorite SLC neighborhoods. It's clean and open with what looks like fabulous outdoor seating when it's not 30 degrees out. They use actual glasses and silverware and food is served on plates to be washed. Love it! The food tasted great! I love a nonstandard pizza. Service was ok. Prompt initially but we were not sure what we wanted having just picked up the menu. Nice enough, but not friendly. They did not ask if the gluten free was for an allergy. Shared kitchen and all. The doughs are rolled on separate surfaces but are only about five feet apart with all the toppings in between. They add flour when rolling the dough, creating a cloud. There's also shared oven space and the same pizza spatulas for all types. So you get a gluten free crust, you're going to have some cross contamination. Usually a tiny bit doesn't ruin my night. Unfortunately, this time didn't work out. I felt horrible within an hour of dinner. Also, there was a $5 surcharge for gluten free dough. Not great when it's not actually free of gluten. If you're not on the gluten special needs train, try this place! It's so good! If you are, hope your belly handles it better than mine did.

Yelp
From the moment I entered the restaurant, I was greeted by the inviting aroma of freshly baked dough and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The staff at Pizza Nono were incredibly friendly and attentive, providing prompt and knowledgeable service throughout my visit. The menu at Pizza Nono is a pizza lover's dream. Their dedication to using high-quality ingredients and traditional techniques is evident in every bite. I absolutely love the Rocketman and Yes Yes pizza. They also offer vegetarian and vegan options and you can order a bottle of wine to enjoy with your pizza. This has quickly become one of my favorite spots for pizza in SLC. Food always comes out quickly and fresh. You can sit outside under the string lights on a summer night with a glass of wine and a slice of pizza and be transported to the streets of Italy.  If you're a pizza enthusiast or simply appreciate exceptional Italian cuisine, Pizza Nono is a must-visit destination. Prepare to be swept away by the flavors, aromas, and warm hospitality that await you at this delightful pizzeria.

Yelp
The pizza was mid. Broccolini was really good. My mane gripe was with the service. We got there around 8:45 and apparently they close at 9. Seems really early for a pizza restaurant. Either way we ordered and they wouldn't let us get water bc they were closing and then they brought all the food out in to go boxes. The group next to us got actual plates and they ordered maybe 2 mins before us. Just really awkward experience.
google avatar

Dylan O.

Yelp
$19 for a personal pie. Not going to lie, pizza was decent. Price was outrageous for a 7 inch pie. I'm from NJ/NYC... you wouldn't pay $19 there.

Patrick W.

Yelp
Expect tips but have zero service. Pizza has gone down hill too very few toppings they put on. And paper plates.. haha this place has gone so downhill and charges like an actual restaurant

Jennifer N.

Yelp
What happened to the meatballs upu served 10 months ago? Big, tasty, tender. The new ones stink! You only get 3. They are hard as rocks obviously frozen out of bag. Charge the same price. Terrible dish. Margarita pizza was ok. Cold cheese on top. Limited wine available. 1 red 1 white. Must be a new owner since last year. Much better places to eat. Great location though

Yelp
Loved the vibe of this restaurant. We had it after going to the 9th and 9th Market. There's a nice outdoor area with large garage doors opening to the outside area. My Margherita pizza was very oily but the oil was good, I just had to have some drip off of it. I used it to dip my crust in at the end. Mine also had 3 LARGE dark pieces of hair in it. I picked them out but didn't send it back. One of the people in my group got a Margherita pizza that was incredibly burnt. She sent it back for it to be remade as the crust wasn't just brunt, but the basil also. Once she got her new pizza, I knew exactly where the dark hair in my pizza came from. The cook had long hair in a low pony tail with not hairnet. The beehive pizza was good with the honey and jalapeños as a good touch. Not sure if I would come back and try after my experience.

Jon N.

Yelp
This certainly lived up to expectations. Beware of going in on rush-hour as you may have to wait up to 30 to 45 minutes for your pizza. That's what they told us, but they actually delivered it out to our table in about 15. Every pizza I sampled was great. They definitely know how to do Woodfired pizzas
google avatar

Caitlin N.

Yelp
My husband and I decided to have a SLC date night at Pizza Nono since we haven't found a nice wood fired pizza place since we moved to UT. We love the 9th and 9th area so we were excited to be able to try their pizza and then pick up other goodies in the area. We ordered the Rocketman and Yes Yes pizzas which came out rather quickly despite being quoted 25-30 minutes for the pizza. They were very busy on the order by phone/online for story pick up but not necessarily busy to eat inside. The pizza was nice and fresh but it lacked flavor and the cheese felt a bit rubbery as it cooled. Our missed opportunity was to order a red sauce pizza to try and compare with their non-red sauce pizzas. Overall, it was an okay pizza spot.
google avatar

Becky B.

Yelp
This place has the MOST amazing vodka tomato sauce. Have it on a pizza, but I got a little cup on the side and dunked my grilled chicken from my kale Caesar salad into it and I was in love. The salad was very tasty, I would have loved some shaved Parmesan on it, but it was fine as it was. That salad, adding the grilled chicken, was very filling. Those who ate pizza said it was excellent. We will return!
google avatar

Pam B.

Yelp
Thin burnt bottom with hardly any sauce. Very small seating. Had the margarita and beehive pizzas. More of a take out place. Would not return. It's a no no for me.
google avatar

Lucas C.

Yelp
Nono's pizza has a lot of great options, and their margheritas are amazing. I love their interior, as it has a very home like feeling. The staff are nice, but sometimes the food take forever. If you have patience, I definitely recommend nono's.

Lauren K.

Yelp
This is our favorite place to eat when we get a rare night out! The food is unbelievable, and the staff and environment are unmatched! Letti was a fantastic waitress and made our experience wonderful.
google avatar

Catherine Z.

Yelp
Adorable wood-fired pizza place with an awesome atmosphere. The music inside is a little loud but the outdoor patio is where it's at. Small but mighty, this patio is covered with trees and lights and gives you a little oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the 9th & 9th neighborhood. Additionally the pizzas are great. They don't have a lot of selections but the ones they have they do well. Staff is efficient and helpful. They were out of the wine we chose and quickly recommended another for a great price. We always love coming here when we're shopping in the area.

Jamie C.

Yelp
Best pizza ever and that broccolini... yummy yummy .. so impressed . You have a regular
google avatar

Steven S.

Yelp
Went there on 3 different occasions and each occasion I had problems. The last one was the worst we waited for an hour for our pizza and when we got it was cold and burned.
google avatar

Anna C.

Yelp
Hands down the best pizza in SLC. I love the vibrant atmosphere and the simplicity of the menu. The service was great, but it can definitely get a little hectic on weekends so plan accordingly. Perfect location and 10/10 caesar salad!
google avatar

Molly M.

Yelp
I used to love eating here but now it just irritates me! Consistently over the last year that we've ordered from here, we get a phone call "no meatballs", "no cauliflower" "no pepperoni" no something. These days, our order was more than twenty minutes past the pick-up time and there are rarely people sitting inside. This place is run by college kids that just take their sweet time. Not wasting any more time here.
google avatar

Leslie P.

Yelp
Note: This is a very late review. I ordered take out December 2019. I love this type of pizza. The crust ever so slightly charred. It's crispy, but chewy at the same time. I ordered one pizza to go: half margherita and half Rocket Man It's a large personal size pizza. I can see some people easily finishing this size, while others can have leftovers. I was the latter, although I ate 4 of 6 slices because it was so dang good!
google avatar

Emma M.

Yelp
I am absolutely blown away. I came here for the first time with a friend who has been before and we split the beehive pizza and the yes yes pizza. AMAZING. The Beehive has honey and pickled jalapeños for the perfect balance between sweet and spicy. The Yes Yes pizza was so flavorful, every bite got better. Ambiance was fun, vibey music and nice lighting. Service was quick. Only downside is that there is limited seating for big groups when you can't sit outside. I can't recommend this place enough!
google avatar

Daniel S.

Yelp
The best pizza joint in Salt Lake City, thanks to two factors: 1. Fantastic outdoor seating and interior ambiance. 2. Excellent menu with a variety of unique flavors. This is a perfect addition to the 9th & 9th neighborhood, adding a small pizza shop that produces excellent thin crust, wood fired pizza. The only reason I'm giving this a 3-star instead of 5-star is because the service has been spotty. They're always busy, but not always friendly/helpful.

David B.

Yelp
We ordered three pizzas on a Saturday at 5 pm. We got our food in 5-10 minutes. I loved it. The pizza had a really thin crust, and I loved it. The food was freshly made and great!
google avatar

Amanda N.

Yelp
Came here on a whim and so glad I did! It was so good! Some of the best fire roasted pizza I've had! I'm not a pizza snob but I feel like this place is better than most. The crust was perfectly cooked and not burned and the toppings were fresh. I wasn't overwhelmed with a ton of menu options but the variety was still there. Good work Nono.
google avatar

Beth V.

Yelp
Delicious and unique pizza flavors. They were super busy when we went but the service was still really good and helpful.
google avatar

Deano G.

Yelp
Average pizza.... that's the best I can say. Crust, better than most in the city, but still average. Toppings and selections, average. The place is kind of cool but has limited seating and the auto tipping is not something I support, but it is what it is. I hate to say it, but one and done for me on this place.
google avatar

Michelle B.

Yelp
I really liked pizza Nono's pizza. We got a salad that was very plain, but you don't go there for the salads. I don't love that they add a service charge on all orders and then also ask for a tip when doing a pickup order. I don't think it's necessary to tip and give a 15% charge for a to-go order.

Brittany G.

Yelp
Take out time was great; less than 20 minutes. Ingredients were good; we ordered arugula and prosciutto (although only option for sauce was white which isn't awesome) and sausage, mush and pepper (again, white sauce only option) However, the composition of the pizza was disrespectful. You can't call this pizza.
google avatar

Ashley P.

Yelp
Okay. Let's start off with saying this is some of the best pizza I've had in salt lake. The red sauce was really flavorful, and made the Margherita perfect. The sgt pepper and sausage had really flavorful sausage. The crust is perfect. They were a little busy, but the wait wasn't too long so that was great. The space is really cute. I wish it was a little bigger so the could do individual tables instead of the shared seating with the long table. But not a huge deal. The tables out side would be really nice on a cooler day.
google avatar

Benjamin P.

Yelp
It's one of the better pizza joints in SLC, especially if you prefer Neopolitan-style. Honestly, I can't complain, and it's easier to order takeout from Nono than it is from Nomad East
google avatar

Kelsey C.

Yelp
Okay, Pizza Nono is one of those places that you hope is as awesome and adorable and delicious as it seems - and then it is. Be ready, guys. It's hipster. But sincerely. Yes, it has a photobooth (that works!) Yes, it has adorable water glasses and tin plates and a communal table and a letterboard menu and string lights...but it also has the most amazing, non-presumptuous, fresh and simple pizza pie. You can put up with tin plates for this pizza. We ordered the Sgt. Sausage Pepper: sausage, peppers, red onions, and fresh mozz, and the Special: ricotta, pepperoni, spinach, mushrooms. One bite and we were like WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR A PIZZA PLACE LIKE THIS IN UTAH AND WE DIDN'T EVEN KNOW IT. And we were bowled over by the flavors, the attention paid to the crust and the dough, and the combo of toppings, which is creative and fun but not too over-the-top that you lose the taste of the pizza altogether. Bay Area places have nailed this science - but until Pizza Nono, Utah hadn't caught up yet. They are a good size - a solid 6 fat slices each - and between our family of four (including 2 kids under 5), we finished them off and were full :-O If we'd splurged for some salad or sides I'm sure there would have been leftovers. Also, it's set in the so super cute 9th and 9th district, so lots of people-watching and fun shops to visit while you're digesting. Parking can be a little tricky but, again, you're at 9th and 9th and it's cute and fun to walk around. Patio seating is available in the warmer seasons and that would really open the place up (which is pretty limited on seating indoors - one big communal table and a few small 2-person tabletops.) Not super kid-friendly with the seating arrangements in winter but we brought our kids and it was a good time. Will we ever eat another pizza from Utah again that's not from PN? Or recommend any other place? Most likely not. This place is IT.

T N.

Yelp
I have never had any issues with getting sick here having Celiac. The employees are always friendly, and would recommend.
