Pizza Nova holds a special place in my heart and my stomach. This iconic spot was a regular part of my high school routine, a place where friendships were made over slices and soda, and the stress of the day melted away with that first cheesy bite. It’s been years since I last stepped inside, but the moment I walked through the door, the memories and the unmistakable aroma of fresh pizza came rushing back. Nothing fancy, nothing overhyped, just good, honest pizza the way you remember it. I ordered a classic slice of sausage pizza and a cold soda, and it was everything I hoped for. The slice came out hot, fresh from the oven, with a bubbling layer of mozzarella that stretched perfectly with each bite. The cheese was creamy and rich, clinging to the crust just right without overpowering the rest. The sausage was well-seasoned with a little kick, and the real hero was the sauce, slightly sweet, tangy, and full of flavor. It tied everything together beautifully, soaking just a bit into the crust without making it soggy. The crust itself was that perfect middle ground, not too thin, not too thick—with just enough crisp on the edge and a soft, chewy center. If you’re in the mood for a comforting, no-fuss slice that delivers every time, Pizza Nova is the spot. Whether you’re reliving old memories or making new ones, one thing’s for sure, this place still knows how to hit the spot.

Food is usually pretty good, don’t really have a complaint there. My complaint lies within the service. They’re nice but usually get my order wrong. It’s usually a missing side or a missing topping. They’ll repeat the order and it’s usually right but when it gets delivered or when I pick it up something is always missing. It’s not a super big deal considering the sides and extra toppings are relatively cheap but it sucks when your order isn’t what you expect it to be. Management doesn’t seem to care either, after looking at several reviews, all management responds is “hope you try us again” without actually trying to rectify the issue… I should also mention I called to tell them about the mistake and was put on hold for more than five minutes, after that I hung up because I’m not about to wait while my pizza gets cold for a few wrong items just for them to probably tell me “oh, sorry hope you try us again” Don’t believe me? Look through all the bad reviews (there are so many of them and they’re all related to bad management/wrong orders) it’s literally a copy and paste comment from the owner or manager. It’s extremely lazy work. This place could be getting 4.5 plus starts as an overall rating if the owners just took into consideration firing certain staff (especially the manager considering mostly all bad reviews point to their attitude and unprofessionalism) and training new staff on proper customer service techniques, but instead they settle for 3.7 stars… also lazy work.

On Saturday, August 12, 2023, I ordered the lasagna special. However, I didn't state I wanted the special . I JUST ASSUMED if you order lasagna on today, it would be the special. You didn't state you wanted the special the stuff member said with a disrespectful tone. The rude staff wanted to charge me an extra $2 to add meat that is normally with the meal. I question the staff about the up charge . As a result, I was asked to leave and never come back by the manager because I am always rude, which is not true . I should have been given the meat on the side. No extra money. I no longer recommend the pizza Nova restaurant on palaski. The staff is unethical. If you order food that happens to be a special price that day, you should always be given the special price. You shouldn't have to state I want the special. That is what happened in my case . The cashier should have asked me if I wanted the special with or without meat. That is goog customer service . On another Saturday, I had the Lasagna special with sausage . It comes with a small salad and garlicbread. No salad dressing. You must pay extra for it. The garlic bread is extremely small. The meal was delicious.

Waiting 15 minutes for a garbage gyro wasn't the worse part of this review. The gyro meat was disgusting and half cooked. The French fries were really bad freezer burned and because they give you your soda when you pay either it's hot as hell when you finally get your food or entirely gone. I will never eat here again nor will I recommend this place to anyone. Would've given 0 stars if available. Just a crappy overall experience.

I got the rib tips and they were absolutely monstrous. I’ll let the photos speak for themselves. Absolutely gross. In case anyone wants rib tips, here you go. Greasy disgusting dried jerky like pieces with absolutely no meat on them. Will never come here again. This place should be ASHAMED to be serving this garbage, but they’re not. Spend 3 more dollars and get REAL rib tips from Leon’s on Archer. @Pizza Nova you know i’m not lying. Shame on you

I just wanna say the food is always good from here. I just feel the service could be better because I called in at first and someone on the phone asked if I could hold I said sure but then right after I answered that someone that wasn't speaking clearly on the phone and hardly could speak English then got on the call and just kept saying hello hello. I said oh I thought I was on hold and said I wanted to place an order for pick up. They said ok and so then I said are you taking my order and they said what's the name so I told them my name and told them what I wanted and the person on the phone said and you placed this order already. I said no I'm trying to place an order and the person said what's the name I said the name again and they said and you placed a beef order already? I said nevermind and walked over since it's 3 blocks away. I go in and once greeted by the girl at the counter she said how can I help you I said I'd like to place an order to go and she said ok what's the name? I told her my name and she said it was for pick up? As I keep typing this I'm sure you can see where I was a little furious but none the less we got it figured out but I hope in the future the staff can learn to pay attention more to what people are saying language barrier or not.

So I just moved back to Chicago after being gone for 4 years. I called to place an order and was told no unless I pay with a card I can’t place an order. When I asked why I was told because the previous tenants had issues with this location. I let them know that I am more than willing to provide proof of who I am but was still told no I have to pay with card or can’t get service

Horrible experience. Took my family there for some late night pizza, we had a simple order of pizza slices and fries. We were told it was a 10 min wait for one of the slices of cheese pizza. (Which is understandable)So we sat and waited, 10 mins turned into roughly 40 mins I asked for a status on our order and was told “they messed up on the cheese pizza.” After several mins I asked for a refund, the manager was called and acted in an annoyed manner when I asked for the money back. He didn’t even have the decency to apologize for THEIR mistake and incompetence. With a bothered demeanor he rushed and gave the money back. No attempt of correcting the situation or even a simple I’m sorry. Unprofessional and terrible customer service skills.

Amparo needs to be fired! This lady was so rude to me. First - no hi and no welcome My mom and I went to order lunch to eat there but I decided to take it to go bc this lady AMPARO had attitude The place was empty around 12 pm I ordered Then around 12:21 I saw a lady come in to wait like 5 minutes to then get her order which I'm assuming she did her order online no biggie However, I asked rude lady AMPARO how long more for my order and she unkindly and with a ugly gesture replied it's almost ready to which I said it's been over 22 minutes- and she said rudely "yes it's takes a long time bc it's done fresh" to which I replied "it would have been nice to be told the wait time'" to which she replied "I don't need to tell you or anyone how long it takes" And I'm appalled at this reply bc if there was an order before me I would have like to have known so that I would understand that I'd have to mentally prepare my wait instead of wondering why the long wait when there wasn't anyone there when I arrived and there were two cooks in kitchens AMPARO needs to be replaced and there should be someone nicer with more customer service experience. I enjoy the food here but attitude like AMPARO's shouldn't be tolerate and us customers deserve a little respect especially when I was being nice - And to top it off she didn't even say thank you instead she gave me a silent treatment as I just grabbed my order really upset. I give it 2 stars bc it's a clean environment and the pizza is decent and we've been ordering for a very long long time but they truly need to hire better staff.

Total honest review of this place. Food is okay, the taste is definitely there but man they have to go easy on the cheese. I ordered a pepperoni and jalapeño pizza for my family and it was good just needed less cheese. Pricing is good especially for the amount of food given. Service is fast (delivery) and I didn't encounter any rude employees on the phone. Ambiance of the place is clean and new as they expanded the actual location. I recommend coming here to get a quick pizza on a Friday night or for lunch. Also forgot the wings aren't bad I was impressed with the crunch and flavor they had. Keep up the good work!

Poor Customer Service Experience I usually don't write reviews, but my recent experience at Pizza Nova was frustrating enough to speak up about. The customer service was extremely disappointing, especially from one of the employees--an older woman working the counter--who made the entire interaction unpleasant. I had to repeat my order four times before she finally got it right. She seemed easily distracted and was not paying attention, even when I was speaking directly to her. What made it worse was her rude and dismissive attitude throughout the process, which made the situation feel even more frustrating. Good customer service starts with listening and treating customers with basic respect. Unfortunately, this experience lacked both. I hope Pizza Nova addresses this issue, because no one should have to deal with that kind of treatment when simply trying to order food.

Worst customer experience ever! I placed an order at work first order was super late, wings and fries were reheated super dry, pizza was ok not the best but edible. I called to talk to a manager or owner, manager was very rude. He was like I can only give you back $5 plus give me back my fries and wings. I told him why only $5 if I paid full price I deserve to get what I rightfully paid for. We were going back and forth made me feel like I wanted to steal from him. I am not from the area never have been treated this way. What a shame I tried to give small business more business but 1st and last time I rather go to a Giordano's, Lou Malnatitis, Connies next time. If I would have read your reviews first never would have ordered from you.

I have been a faithful customer for years, but not anymore. The manager took my order over the phone, and messed up which happens. However he did not hold accountability and was not accommadating in correcting the error. I told him he was to loose a customer and stated they have plenty. Right there shows the empty cowardly words, lack of customer service skills, education, empathy and a broken man. More than anything am disappointed in the lack of respect for there neighbor. The service is missing here. We told the staff member that we planned on dining in, and we weren't given napkins. It also wasn't in a public spot like the ketchup stand is. I felt like I was inconveniencing them the whole time. Our drinks weren't going to be filled into a cup until we asked to have them while we wait for our food to be made. Then, we were told that our food is coming right out which isn't true because it was another 15 minutes or so -- I rather not be told that and happily wait. After we sat down, which is seemingly pick where you want to sit, we were told that she will be closing that section to clean which I appreciate but could've been told not to sit there when she saw us go there the whole time. I also asked for my Italian beef to be without bread and to be put in a bowl, the employee spoke Spanish with the chef, and she later asked again. I appreciate that they were accommodating to non traditional ways of this meal, and they were very generous with the beef and peppers. It was also marinated really well. The food is delicious, but I definitely recommend that you do not dine in here. Just take it and go. There's limited free parking on premise, first come first serve, and it's shared with other businesses in that corner.

I've been ordering from this location for years, and it's unfortunate that I will not be calling them anymore.. The manager TOMAS has absolutely NO CUSTOMER SERVICE skills what so ever.. Seems like this Pizza Nova doesn't care about there customers..

Awful customer service. I called and spoke to the manager about a problem with my order. I told him about it and asked him about their professionalism in the business and he told me they didn't have none because they don work in an office. Bottom line is I will be directing my complaint to Better Business Bureau. Stay away from this place please!!! I would rate it zero stars!!!!

So my friend walks in yesterday at about 7pm and asks the cashier " what kind of slices do you have?" The cashier responded "can't you tell they're all sausage?" How do we know what slices are in the back or are about to come out fresh? Where is the customer service here?!! Just from verbatim that's rude, mind you tone and manner make it more RUDE. I don't understand why this type of behavior is suitable for any business. Slices were good but the customer service is complete TRASH here.

My family has been coming here for years. Never once have I had a complaint nor has there ever been a mess up. Today my sister ordered herself a pizza for lunch as she works from home. She does this pretty often. She ordered over the phone and I was in the room with her and heard her order a pizza half pepperoni and half sausage with olives and peppers. it seemed that the lady "Amparo" was having trouble understanding what she meant which I assume was a language thing, and then it seemed after a couple of times of repeating the order that she understood what she meant. When the pizza got here, it was incorrect. It happens. I work in the food service so I get it. What I DON'T get is the rude response to us calling the restaurant to let them know that the order was wrong. My sister called very politely but Amaro must have thought we were just trying to get free food because she wanted a picture but then she proceeded to say "well that's what you ordered" in a way that was like her saying "tough shit!" What kind of customer service is that? You really think a loyal customer is going to try and be cheap and steal your food? Absolutely not. It could've been a simple "I'm sorry, we can remake it for you" but it turned into a back and forth because Amaro refused to believe that she was wrong and was completely stubborn. We asked to speak to a manager since she was not willing to work with us and refused to tell us the name of her HUSBAND and "didn't know when he'd be in." We later found out his name is Tomas :) because we received a call from an a unknown number, BUT SHOUT OUT TO APPLE FOR LETTING US KNOW THE NAME OF THE UNKNOWN NUMBER CALLING IF YOU PUT YOUR INFO IN :) I assume he was there all along and she just refused to let us speak to him and he made her fix the problem. They sent us a pizza and we gave back the mess up. It could've been that simple from the start. Thanks

The front cashier, a short female, was to busy talking with her friend and didn't even notice my food was ready right next to her. To add onto it they didn't hand me any napkins and they got my order wrong, after I repeated myself three times. Have workers that actually do their jobs.

I have never had an issue with Pizza Nova until now. We have been ordering from this place for years now. I'm a Director at a daycare and their was a confusion with the order which at this point was still ok. The manager go on the phone and was very disrespectful yelling "do you want the food" "are you going to want this fold or not?" Some not so nice comments were exchanged which I apologize for; however, this manager who also refused to give their name was beyond disrespectful. I have spoken to other managers like Mr. Joel and never have received an issue. It is extremely sad to have stuff that cannot do their job and just be cordial with customers.

I only come here because everyone else likes this or I'm starving for a slice of pizza. The single slices are good, I like that they don't have a sweet flavor to the sauce. Fries are always cooked well and crispy. Prices are a little high as $20 elsewhere can get you a PARTY size pizza for one topping. This place would be better and get more recognition if their service was just as good as their food. The teenage girls working there are rude and clearly can speak Spanish but choose to have a Spanish speaking customer struggle to order their food. As a person who speaks both and Pizza Nova being in a predominantly Latino community, you should be ashamed of yourself. Not planning on returning anytime soon or support an establishment that hires people like that.

RAW CHICKEN!! I grew up eating pizza nova and I've never had any major issues or problems - until today. I ordered the chicken strip platter and was served raw chicken. Unfortunately, I did not realize this until after I bit into the chicken. This is absolutely disgusting. I've been a long time regular customer for pizza nova, however this is absolutely unacceptable and gross!

I order from this Pizza Nova every week, always around night time. They always deliver with no problem, cash and card. On Thursday, March 24 approximately 10:15pm. I had called to make a order for delivery and some guy answers, usually it's the nice young lady's answering. This time it was some guy I haven't heard before with a squeaky voice. He answers, takes my order, and then I asked him if he can have the delivery guy have change for a $100 bill. This guy suddenly starts flipping out, saying the drivers can't carry more than $20, due to a recently robbery. I tell him, that I always order from here, and no one ever said anything about a robbery. Then this guy has the nerve to say that the robbery happened exactly on my block, which is 62nd and Washtenaw. He has so much nerve that he mentions my full address, claiming that's where the robbery occured at. Which is bullshit, I haven't heard anything about a robbery on my block, and this block is full of cameras due to the school, church and my neighbors, they're with the neighborhood watch. He also was claiming the robbery came out on the news. Which I did some research, and nothing came out about a Pizza Nova delivery driver getting robbed. I told that guy with the squeaky voice I was going down there to confront him for lying. Scary guy got all spooked and started saying he was calling the police. I'm a loyal customer, I've been ordering from this Pizza Nova for 5+ years, and I'll be dam if I let a new rookie don't let me place an order for delivery. This guy is lying on the job to a loyal customer. Pizza Nova Management & HR, I want that guy fired permanently. Let him lie and disrespect a loyal customer somewhere else.

Ordered pizza over the phone. i asked for my total and went to pick up weather was minus 30 that day. I arrive and the manager Tomas says the total was incorrect and wanted to charge me an extra $25 for 1 pizza. I told him I was given a price and it should be honored that price was on the receipt. he refused and was a very mean about it. I told him it's was not the customer fault his computer and or staff gave wrong price. Long story short he didn't give me the pizza, couldn't fix the error on his computer and pizza couldnt be sold anywhere else because it went cold. Manager had zero customer service skills a day before Christmas. He was extremely rude and didn't care that it wasn't my fault he wasn't going to give me the 4 pizzas I ordered for the price on the receipt. I was only given 3. It's unfortunate that he's a manager because the owner Tony Parente would be so disappointed in him. Management is awful!!!

After working all day I was looking forward to our guest from Serbia who have been anxiously waiting for a slice of Chicago's best well unfortunately it's not Pizza Nova! Their food is good and their prices are great but their staff is incompetent and obtaining and placing phone orders and their management has absolutely no customer service skills. Unfortunately in this area the competition is fierce and I'd much rather eat at a place that appreciates my business so I can come home and enjoy my pizza instead of wait three hours just to be completely disappointed and treated me I wasted my money! I recommend just a pizza Giordano's or Phil's after 10 years as a customer I will never order from this place again!

It's sloppy looking. They take your cash and straight up scoop your slice with the same hand that touched your monies without washing. No manches! nasty.

For the last 20 years or so Pizza Nova has been a staple at my home. Although, I don't live on the South side anymore, whenever I visit my mom I always order from there. It's been a staple in the neighborhood and my home. We tried to order from different pizza places but we always come back to Pizza Nova.

Terrible service and shitty food. I got food poisoning from this place!!! Not kidding.This place just sucks! Avoid it! Plenty of other pizza places in the area, like Pop-N-Pizza or Big Tony's! Way better than this crap hole!!

Horrible service, it's bad I can't leave 0 stars here. They rushed me over the phone and didn't ask for form of payment, I found out through my friend that I had to go there to pay, they did not bother to share that information. I get there and their front desk girl decides to reply with a nasty attitude "well, I didn't take your order so I wouldn't know", stating 'naw, we can't take orders over the phone it's a safety precaution", yet they never asked me for my ID, when I called them out on that, the girl smacked her lips and rolled her eyes. I told her it is an inconvenience, a great safety issue they're tackling but they did not diffuse the information properly. Do not eat here and expect good food or even remotely decent customer service, they will mess up your order then serve you attitude with your horrid food. It's shocking this place is still open.
