I was told by another Yelper this place was one of their recommended spots for pizza, so I'd been wanting to try it since then - and I'd seen it in passing - at times with a bit of a line up.
I will admit - I was intrigued. When I finally got to go, I noticed there were 6 or 8 ready made pizzas which looked pretty tasty, moister and richer than most by-the-slice places; and for good reason; as it's all those things.
On the upside, they had two or three vegetarian options, of which I chose the eggplant, mushroom and basil.
The slices were quite fresh and of a decent size. The cheese was greasy and rich, the way I like it, and reminiscent of Boston-style (my ultimate fave). It was also sauce forward - another signature component of Boston-style (love me some slightly tart sauce).
Now for the middle of the road and weaker components. The dough was a bit on the chewy side, and not crisp enough on the bottom. Though not bad in any way, but not nearly good enough to warrant the downside of the whole deal. That being -- there was no deal. The slice costs 5.75 plus taxes. Holy shnikies! I get inflation, but there comes a point. If it had truffles or the like on it surely, but... not simply... you feel me?!
Overall, I'd yield the pizza four and a half, because I'd say it's still one of the top slices in Montreal. Despite being the priciest that I know of. That part that gets a much lower score.
The fun and talkative staff deserve a five. The pop culture meets diner looking decor has stainless steel counter space and tables, so if you distill all of the ratings together; it yields a solid four.
